And so the arrival at back to her own world went smoothly. Jodie had unboarded the train she was in, continuing to know nothing about it being a Digimon...and noticing only that her clothes returned to being just her school clothes. Everything felt so much like a dream. She felt hazed and dazed all of a sudden as she looked back at the train station. She was already this far away?
"Are you well, my Jodie?" spoke a voice in her head. That's right. The one proof it all happened, it was the small angel like creature in her arms that remained still, acting as if it were some sort of plush.
"Ah...yes I'm...Alright just feeling very exhausted now..." Jodie smiled, answering vocally. Nobody being around her meant she could after all. It was somewhat late by now. The time really did dilate inside the Digital World. It was convenient, she could head home on the very same day. With that thought, it seemed as if she continued on auto pilot as she finally began to process her adventures....How it all started with that girl in her class. She wondered why she disliked her....She really did something mean to her...She needed to apologize to her if she felt upset at her still. Well if it weren't for her she never would have gone through all that...and not have met her partner...
She got home by night time and opened the door with the house key that remained in her pockets...and yet she felt something else in her pocket. As she stood in front of her door with one arm full, holding Shiro Nox, she pulled out..a small...machine? Toy? A tamagochi? Well whatever it was, she was more than sure she didn't have it on her before she went into the Digital World so...was this part of that world? She decided it was best to ponder about it inside.
"I'm home...?" Jodie announced as she entered her home..and yet it was still empty. Figures, her parents must still be busy with their works, too busy to come home.
"Hmm..." Jodie frowned slightly, having gone through so many things today she was looking forward to the comfort of her own parents but seemed like their jobs were taking their times. It made her feel lonely.
"Do not worry child, I am by your side." Shiro voiced out through her mind. Jodie was almost surprised by this but couldn't help but smile. She appreciated that she was trying to reassure her.
"Thank you...My parents are usually home late...and usually it is fine but today I really...wanted to see them."
"I find it appalling that they would endure so much time without you, leaving you alone like this."
"I-I don't mind. I can handle myself, no biggie."
"This world takes you for granted.." Shiro thought to herself, her voice reaching no mind but her own as she frowned lightly.
The duo arrived in Jodie's room...and with that she undid her clothes and slipped into her onsie pajamas. Shiro Nox couldn't help but look in awe. The human body was something else. Either way, with that Jodie laid down on her bed, almost just flopping onto it as she took Shiro into her arms and embraced her.
"You'll always stay by my side...?"
"Always....Jodie...I will not allow any world to hurt you...you deserve a safe world...where you can smile and feel loved and never have a moment of absence." Shiro responded, her voice serious and grim, however Jodie smiled.
"You're too kind..heh..." Jodie hugged her small Digimon ever tighter...until a light enveloped them both and the device on the bedside table began to glow...And Jodie felt it. The form in her grasp was changing and she flinched...covering her eyes with one hand until finally it ended and there...a Digimon with a different form who gave her a smile.
"It seems my time came." Shiro telepathed, now a Calumon.
"Is this what they meant by...grow?" Jodie gasped. "You're really cute..!" With that she returned to hugging her partner who nuzzled her cheek against Jodie's own...It was a nice heart to heart that would now elude the end of her day as she fell asleep with her plush like friend beside her.
