Toki told him to take a break. Probably means he's probably gonna show Abaddon the right way to motivate someone, right? Toki knows what he's doing, right?
The Veemon's train of thought switched tracks to ponder the existence of the "barrier" the Antylamon mentioned. What was holding him back? He had been trying to figure this out for himself the whole time. A clear answer... a diagnosable problem that could be wiped away once found. But searching within himself, Levi couldn't say what the barrier was. He just felt it. It was there. Omnipresent. Digivolution didn't feel like it was something he could do. It was something digimon could do, and he was a digimon. He figured it must have been within his skillset, but no one could ever say how to do it. Was it something that was to come naturally? Since he wasn't sure, Levi defaulted to the possibility that he could make it happen by being in a situation where his only option was to digivolve. It seemed that in truth, this wasn't supposed to be necessary. He would soon find out that Toki was willing to oblige regardless.
They didn't know what the heck a slide evolution was, but according to context clues, they rightfully assumed that Lagosmon was an ultimate level. Ordinarily, Alan, who was standing rather close to Levi, would have taken a second or two to swoon first, but he immediately recognized that it was time to back away to a safer distance. His light screen wouldn't be able to block a stray attack from whatever Toki was planning.
Even still, Alan's gaze held steadily on Lagosmon, a mix of alarm and admiration unhelpfully making it hard to listen to Toki's words. He snapped to attention when one of those words was "Alan." Somehow, things were different this time. The rumble of Toki's voice made his heart race. He didn't have to understand it- they were resonating within him.Levi felt like he was about to black out when walls of stone emerged from the ground between them. Alan suddenly running forwards once he lost sight of Levi.
"Levi!" Alan had so many things he wanted to say all at once, and what resulted was a shout of "Make it!" Out alive? Happen? To the next level? Make it.
The miniscule drake saw the least fortunate rabbit foot he had ever seen flying to him at high speeds. An ultimate's attack hitting him would obliterate him! And he couldn't dodge it. Obliteration was his only option. No, he had no options. Obliteration isn't an option. Obliteration is never an option. But if he had zero options, what was he supposed to do?
Make one?
CRASH!
Levi felt a searing pain as his vision went white.
"LEVI!"
Silence.
"I'm... okay..."
"Who's there? Levi? Your voice..."
"I'm... hrggh…"
Being kicked had caused Levi's head to hit one of the stone walls of the bastion. He lifted his hand to run over the top of his head with it, and was greeted with a sharpened edge. "Ow, dammit..." he groaned, slowly picking himself up off of the ground.
"I don't... take kindly... to dying."
ExVeemon raised his fists, eyes alight with passionate... complete oblivion. One may wonder if he thinks he's still a Veemon that somehow took an ultimate kick by means of willpower.
Levi digivolves to ExVeemon.
Levi takes full damage from the roundhouse kick.
Levi hits his head on a wall.
//Levi might need a few minutes if nobody says anything to him.
