"Here, c'mon, pull me up-"
"Grff... I'm... trying...."
"C'mon, almost there, I -... ok, there! I got a foothold, I'm good- you can let go."
Vulin would flop back and huff, as he let go of Fennel's claw - the Monodramon properly pulling himself up over the ledge once he had been able to find a place to dig in his feet. It had been some time, since they had met Falzure and her family in the Valley of Dragons - and it was a blast for the young duo to meet some fellow dragon-digimon - especially for Vulin, getting to see a fellow Vorvomon and more-mature Volcanicdramon! But eventually, the duo would have to move on, wanting to sate that wanderlust and need for adventure. They had wished Falzure and her father farewell; and after some idle exploration around the valley, moved on beyond it. They trekked towards the Folder Desert - climbing a short cliff at the edge of the desert as they did.
The duo would take a second to catch their breath, before getting up - chuckling to each other. "Hey, Fennel, how much further do you think it'll be to those ruins?" Vulin would question as he began to bounce on ahead, out into the sandy dunes of the desert. Fennel would and shrug and follow close behind, mentioning "Probably a little while, they did say it was a way's off" as they set off. "Wish the sun wasn't so hot though," He would add after a second - and though it looked as though Vulin was about to say something, his expression playful, Fennel would jokingly add "And you don't count- you would probably call a lava pool a spa," with a similarly playful smirk. The two would share a laugh, Vulin gently punching Fennel on the shoulder.
"What did you think of Falzure anyhow, Fennel?" Vulin asked - and though Fennel made a face at first, he would quickly clarify "I mean, I know you don't usually like strangers, and it takes you a bit, but I do want to know what you think of her besides that."
Fennel would take pause for a moment, considering it as they walked thru the dunes of the desert. "... She's not bad," He eventually decided. "I'd like to talk to her or her dad more sometime. But I don't... really know where I'd place her?" He shrugged a second. He wasn't used to socializing with those outside of his comfort zone - the digimon from outside of ElDoradimon. Vulin, on the other hand, has always been a social butterfly - even if it's gotten him into trouble once or twice.
Vulin seemed satisfied with the answer though, and would nod and smile. "That's good! You gotta trust people more, Fennel, not everyone's so bad." He mentioned- gently head-bumping Fennel. The Monodramon would laugh a little - reaching over to pat Vulin's head in response - but wouldn't respond to his remark - letting it hang in the air instead. Though Vulin was right, he didn't really want to let go of his skepticism of strangers so easily.
The two would continue to trek and move thru the desert though, over the dunes and under the sweltering sun. It felt as though they'd been out here for forever, after a certain period of time - sand, sand, upon more sand stretching off into the horizon. Vulin was taking it all in stride - he didn't feel exhausted by this trek, in fact, he felt envigorated by the warmth of the sun! Though Fennel had more difficulties, his breathing a little heavy as the sun baked them. He was getting tired, and could really use some shade - or at least a break - though Vulin seemed to notice this, and would slow his pace so that Fennel could lean against him. "You doing okay?"
"Y... Yeah, just don't care for this heat..." Fennel would respond a bit breathily, sighing a little as he wiped some sweat off his brow. Vulin would frown sympathetically, keeping his inner heat low so as to not make it worse on Fennel, and gently nuzzled and bumped him. "C'mon, you're doing great, lets keep going until we find a nice spot to stop and rest - ok?" Vulin encouraged, to which Fennel would take a second to think, then quietly nod - passing his twin a smile. Yeah, just a little longer, he was sure.
And indeed, as they continued thru the sands of the desert, they would begin to see things looming beyond in the desert. At first, Fennel was cautious - wondering if it was another digimon, with the heat haze shimmering in the air giving the illusion of movement. But as they slowly got closer, it would gradually become more and more clear that it was not any sort of living digimon - no, it was a building! By some miracle, a building standing intact - towering over a good portion of the desert. And as the duo got closer, they could even begin to see ruins - other crumbled buildings and walls making up what might've once been a great city in the middle of the desert - they found the ruins!
Upon seeing that they were here, Fennel's eyes would light up - his enthusiasm almost immediately dispelling any sort of exhaustion or discomfort he had been feeling from the trek here. Vulin, similarly, would perk up - the two dragon mons trotting on over towards the fringes of the ruins to investigate (and in Fennel's case, find some shade.) They were a little cautious - one never knew when you'd find an aggressive digimon lurking in the shadows of places like these - but it seemed pretty calm and quiet, at least right now! "Should we check out that big building?" Vulin would ask- glancing to Fennel.
Fennel, though, would think for a moment - before shaking his head. "Lets check out the stuff out here first; that temple-looking place gives me a weird feeling anyways." He mentioned, to which Vulin nodded. Thus, the two digimon would wander thru the fringes of the ruins, working their way thru as they quietly searched for anything of interest.

Mae had figured her last foray into some ruins had only ended badly because of the choice of ruins in particular. Maybe the Ancient Ruins themselves were a safer place to be wandering around, surely? Truthfully, she didn't really care. The Meicrackmon had wanted to find a place to stare at the sky from. Or nap at.
The fringes of the ruins were actually a very great place for such a thing, as Mae quickly learned. She also learned that it got...scorching hot during the day, so her endeavors quickly changed to trying to find a shady place. And she did!
A shady place provided by a ruined wall. She had been napping there. For the past few hours. It was pretty loud, and sounded a little ominous, too.

At first, the duo didn't find too much of interest - only broken down buildings and walls, rubble, sand, and stray traces of trash data. "I guess it makes sense that the good stuff would be further in..." Vulin began, frowning softly. "But I really hoped to find something cool, out here, too!" Fennel would glance to Vulin, and sighed, patting his head. "Yeah, I sort of expected there to not be much out here..." He began, "But it's still interesting looking at all the buildings. Who knows what purposes they served, before it all crumbled to ruin?"
Vulin perched on a small pile of rubble - glancing around a bit, before glancing to Fennel. "Should we go deeper in? Maybe we'll find something then!" He suggested - though Fennel seemed unsure at the idea. "We might find a tough digimon more likely, but... I guess if we keep our heads down we should be fine." He mentioned, and would climb up to a higher spot to get a better look at the surroundings. However....
... That's when they noticed the snoring. It sounded almost like growling, to Fennel's cautious and wary mind - and he couldn't help but glance around warily before jumping back down to meet Vulin. "Do you hear that???" He whispered in a hushed tone - continuing to glance around, in an attempt to be aware of his surroundings. Vulin would take a second to tilt his head and get a better idea of the sound, before mentioning - similarly hushed - "I... think it's snoring...? Kind of unnerving sounding though..." "I'll shove my claws in a Meramon if that's just snoring," Fennel would retort- glancing around. He had already begun thinking of getting out of here, once he figured out which way the sound was coming from - but Vulin was way ahead of him...
... Or three steps back, depending on how you saw it - the curious Vorvomon wandering off in the direction of the snoring to investigate. "I- Vulin!" Fennel would stage-whisper, following after his twin. What was he doing??
The duo would end up making their way around a corner, to see a curled up shape just under one of the many ruined walls and buildings scattered about here, in the shade. Vulin would perk his head up a little - they didn't seem so bad, at least as far as he could tell! Fennel, however, would freeze up upon seeing the distinctive stripes and feelers on the large form distinctly looking like that of the Meicoomon line- and already a Meicoomon alone is bad news; even if they were about the size of a rookie, that was a champion level digimon! But this one seemed even bigger and tougher...
"Vulin- come on, I'm pretty sure that's an ULTIMATE we're looking at! They'll turn us into scrap data if they attack us!" Fennel would mutter, trying to pull his twin to little avail - he wasn't the strongest to begin with, and Vulin was a bit of a hefty fella! "Nonsense, they don't look that bad! Maybe they're an explorer like us?" Vulin would respond, not quite as hushed anymore - out of lack of caution, mostly. Fennel would make a disgruntled noise, and would continue to pull on Vulin's wing - "Okay, so they might not be bad-" He relented; less out of admitting Vulin was right, and more to point out "- but we shouldn't be bothering them, it's rude!"

Mae had been roused by something just now, and it was some...chattering? Her ears perked up and she lifted her head. She peered around for the muttering. "Uh...Hello? Someone there?" The Meicrackmon inquired, sitting up and yawning. A quick look around didn't reveal anything, so she stood up and wandered in the direction of the muttering she had heard.
She paused when she saw two other figures. Both smaller than her. Rookies? "...Oh geez, uh...Are you two lost or something? Do you live here?" The cat inquired. Who were they and why'd they have to kind of interrupt her nap but also not really?

The twins would be muttering to each other up until Mae's approach - though when the larger Meicrackmon approached and addressed them, the two would freeze up and glance in Mae's direction. Fennel, on one hand, would freeze up completely - giving Mae a deer-in-the-headlights type look. Vulin however, was a little more friendly - albeit sheepish over having disturbed her. "Oh, hello- I'm sorry if we woke you!" He apologized politely after taking a second to register her approach, offering her a friendly smile.
"We're not lost though, we're travelers! We heard of some cool ruins out here, and we wanted to explore!" Vulin chirped happily, as Fennel would finally find his wits and straighten up. "I'm Vulin, and this is my brother Fennel!" The small Vorvomon would introduce himself, and his brother - gesturing to the Monodramon as he did - before adding curiously "What's your name, if that's okay to ask?" Despite the large, possibly ultimate-level digimon before them, Vulin was friendly and cheery - she seemed really cool! And honestly really fluffy- it reminded him of Saya!
On the other hand though, Fennel was glancing around warily; as though looking for an escape route. Who knew what might happen to them, if something turned south? Upon noting this, Vulin would blink to Fennel, and raise a wing to pat his shoulder reassuringly, adding to Mae "Don't mind Fennel, by the way - he just needs a bit to warm up to strangers." Fennel would grumble softly, but calmed down the slightest bit. It was clear he didn't trust Mae, but was at least not about to do anything hasty.

"I think I was gonna wake up soon enough anyways..." Did these little guys actually seem scared? One of them did. The other was a-okay and chipper as heck! Mae let out a yawn before she hastily covered her mouth. "Vulin and Fennel..." She repeated those names to herself, and tilted her head. "Neat. Uh. I'm Mae. I don't think I've ever seen either of you before..." The dragon was new to her. As was this...It seemed like a black Monodramon.
Kind of like Chief Strikedramon but...y'know. Colored differently. "...Oh, uh. That's fine. I get that I'm not really one of the...best things to run into in the world, being a Meicoomon and all..." The Meicrackmon scratched the back of her neck. Talk about a strange time to catch her in this form...

"Well... It's nice to meet you, Mae!" Vulin smiled, adding "And yeah - we've started traveling semi-recently? It's been.... Uhm..." He'd glance to Fennel. "How long has it been now?" He'd ask his brother, to which Fennel glanced between Mae and Vulin, before responding "... A couple months, I think?" He had a decent internal clock, but it was still sometimes hard to say without a proper calendar on hand. "Sounds right!" Vulin chirped, before smiling up to Mae. "We come from ElDoradimon, hatched and raised there together!" He stated happily, adding "We set off when we became rookies though, to see the world!"
Upon her mention of not being 'one of the best things to run into' though, Vulin would tilt his head a little, not seeming to catch on to what she meant - sure she's big and tough, but she didn't seem too bad otherwise... "I mean... You don't seem that bad! You make me think of Saya even - she's a Kyubimon, one of the digimon that raised me and Fennel - and you're really fluffy like her!" He mentioned, smiling brightly. "But anyhow... Are you a traveler, too? Have you met any cool digimon? I bet someone big n tough like you has seen lots of cool stuff, since there's less things out there that could scare you, right?"
As Vulin rambled to Mae and practically drowned her in questions, Fennel would still be watching her quietly, somewhat warily - but the fact that she hadn't attacked or lashed out yet made him relax a bit. In fact, she even seemed a little unsure though self-aware, given what she was. It... Made him feel a little sympathetic, at least, he could recognize the stigma that surrounded certain types of digimon - though he wasn't about to entirely let his guard down yet, not until he got a better idea of Mae.

"Oh, neat, I've been traveling for like...Uh...Uhh...A while." Mae responded to the Vorvomon. "I don't know what an ElDoradimon is, but I came from the Server Woods. In fact, I've kind of just lived there all my life until I started traveling." The Meicrackmon shook her head.
"I might not seem like it but I'm bad to the bone. At least when I start fighting, I guess...Your caretaker sounds like a nice person." She smiled. That person reminded her of the Impmon that was more or less her own caretaker. Fond memories, really. "So...yeah, I guess I'm a traveler. I dunno if what I've seen can be called cool...But...uh. Things scare me. Things scare me a lot..."
She trailed off, noticing how Fennel was eyeing her warily. She didn't blame him, she was afraid of herself too. "I've made friends, though. A lot of them." The cat continued.

"Oh, I've heard the Server Woods are really nice! Or well... At least when you don't go too deep, from the ghost stories we've heard of it, aheh..." Vulin would shudder a little then laugh - the two grew up having heard one too many ghost stories passed around the fellow children of ElDoradimon. Fennel seemed to share this notion - even if he knew some of those ghost stories were just that, stories, he still knew that there were a handful that had some truth to them. And sometimes one never knew what may happen, in a place like the Digital World.
One of those stories included the common ghost-story of an Impmon's spirit lurking in those woods, guiding travelers so deep that they're never seen again - and it wasn't too uncommon for someone to tell it whenever ElDoradimon wandered thru of the Eastern Timberlands. "But yeah! ElDoradimon is a biiiig digimon who carries a city on their back, they sort of look like a really big and giant Kamemon, except they walk on all fours! They wander around wherever they please, though noone really knows why."
Vulin would take a second to ponder Mae mentioning that she's 'bad to the bone', though would tilt his head a little. He... Guessed it made sense - was that to mean she gets a little worked up during fights? "It's okay if you get a little carried away, I just won't ask to spar then! Doesn't change that you still seem like a good digimon right now!" Vulin would mention with a big smile, as though it was that easy of a fix. At the mention of things scaring her though, Vulin would be a bit more sympathetic - giving her a little pat. "And well... It's okay to be scared of things, too. I don't like water, myself - and we've ran into some spooky things before..."
"But it's good that you have friends!" Vulin would conclude with a big smile. "Friends are always great, and I wanna make a bunch of friends, and then get strong so I can protect them all and help them be happy!"

"Oh, I've...heard of the stories. I've even seen them, myself..." Mae began before she trailed off. The thing about the ghost stories? There were more than one when it came to the ghosts themselves. The Impmon--one of the impmon, at least, was her caretaker. Though she wasn't about to reveal that to some strangers...
More importantly, Mae's ears flitted at the explanation of what ElDoradimon was. A large Digimon supporting a whole city upon it's back...That went wherever it wanted. "It sounds like a very free spirit. Someone that's never alone with all the people on it's back...But is he lonely even then?"
Well, the dragon didn't seem to mind her at all. What a nice little fella. "Oh, I love water. Swimming's one of my favorite activities....But I'll agree with you when it comes to spooky stuff. Ghosts are freaky." The cat then fell silent to listen to Vulin's speech about friends.
Kind of reminded her of herself. Gosh, she wasn't even that old but she was already feeling old. "Back when I was just a little Rookie, I wanted a lot of friends just to not be alone anymore. Protecting them...Well, that's something I only began to think about later. Do you think we're friends?"

"Really??" Vulin didn't seem to notice Mae's trailing off - and was instead more curious about the fact that she had been able to see ghosts! "What was it like? Are they nice ghosts, or mean ghosts like in the stories? Are they Impmon like everyone says or something else??" Vulin would ask excitedly - it seemed that his own body was starting to heat up noticeably in proportion to his excitement, even!
Fennel would step in then though, noting both Mae's pauses and Vulin's increasing temperature - reaching over to gently pat his twin on the head. "Breathe, you're gonna get glass stuck to ya at this rate." He instructed gently- adding "And correct me if I'm wrong - though something's telling me this isn't a subject she's entirely keen on." Vulin would blink a second, though seemed to heed Fennel's advice, taking a second to inhale deeply, then exhale- his heat leveling back out as he calmed himself down. "Heh... Sorry, Mae." Vulin would grin a bit sheepishly, seemingly a little embarrassed over nearly getting carried away. "It's okay to tell me if something's a bit much, okay?"
As for ElDoradimon though, Vulin would ponder Mae's words for a second. "Hm... Yeah! I guess they are a pretty free spirited digimon! Though other 'mons do talk to them on an occasion, so I don't think they're TOO lonely? It's just a little difficult from what I hear, with how big they are." Vulin would grin a little sheepishly to himself as he added "I tried to sneak out once, when I was a Koromon - I thought maybe if I could get up onto his neck, I could talk to him that way! Though I got a bit of a scolding from the caretakers, cause I could've fell then."
Fennel couldn't help a small smile of his own - considering that being the duo that they were, he had snuck out with Vulin that one night. Saya had been so fussy over the duo, but Jess didn't even need to say a word to let one of the in-trainings know that they were in trouble. The looks she tended to have told volumes of however she was feeling or wanting to convey at the time!
"And ghosts are spooky!" Vulin would agree, adding "But I mean, if ghosts were originally digimon, then that must mean there's nice ghosts too? It's still kind of spooky though... And I mean... Water is pretty to watch! I like watching rain, waterfalls... I just am afraid of sinking like a rock, and getting too cold- and I don't like getting wet in general... Fennel's decent at swimming, though!" Vulin would gently and playfully bump Fennel, the Monodramon jumping a bit - seeming to have still been in thought while Vulin mentioned this. This would result in Fennel lightly pouting, and gently punching Vulin in the shoulder in response, to which the young Vorvomon laughed - it seemed to all be in good fun, though; brothers being brothers.
Vulin and Fennel both felt sympathetic to Mae's loneliness as a Rookie though - they both had grown up with a bunch of other in-trainings that didn't have parents to look after them, so they couldn't even imagine what it felt like to have noone, and even as rookies now, they had eachother! In response to Mae's question, Vulin wouldn't hesitate to state "I think we're friends! If you want to be friends, then we can!" He'd declare with a big smile, playfully bumping Mae and adding "And even if Fennel takes time to warm up to others, he'll be your friend too if you give him a chance to get used to you!"

"Oh, uh. He's a...nice ghost. The one I know, at least. I don't know about the other ghosts, really..." Was he burning up...? The cat, uncomfortable as she was, peered. "Hey, uh...Vulin...You okay?" Fennel had also noticed the heat. And that she wasn't quite keen on the subject.
"I-It's fine. It's not something I'm...unable to talk about. But it's...difficult to put stuff into words, if that makes sense." Mae explained, moving a little closer to the duo and taking a seat. "I hope that he's not too lonely. I don't think falling off into the sky would be good no matter the intent...Does...Hm. Does that make sense?" She mused. "There's nice ghosts and mean ghosts. I know about Spirit Wielders--they're a funky phenomenon. I can imagine you don't like water given you're like...a lil magma dragon." She then peered towards Fennel! "I can respect that. Good on you, Fennel." Mae gave a smile. The first time she had smiled, seemingly!
"Oh, that's great. I'd...I'd like that a lot, actually. Us being friends, that is."

Vulin would blink at Mae, before smiling and chuckling a bit, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, I'm ok..! I just, well, tend to get a bit heated - quite literally - when I get excited. But it's normal for Vorvomon like me! I'm usually good at controlling it, but sometimes I get a little caught up in things, eheh... Usually Fennel lets me know if I need to calm down though, and a bit of deep breathing tends to do the trick if that does happen." Vulin would giggle a bit- adding "My body can heat up a lot with no problem, though - there's another Vorvomon we know, she's bigger n older than me, but she melted thru some rock on accident once, and was perfectly fine in the end! Though... I wouldn't suggest hugging me if I did get that hot!"
As Mae explained herself though, mentioning her difficulty putting things into words and sitting down, Vulin would nod. The twins would sit down as well - Vulin plopping down next to her, almost like a little puppy with the way his tail swished in the sand - the copper ring at the end of it jingling. Fennel would sit down in front of the both of them, forming a triangle arrangement between the trio. "I think I understand!" Vulin would nod - adding "And it's okay, if words are a little hard sometimes. Fennel's far better at certain words than I am, like big complicated ones like uhhh... Chron.... Chrono-digi..." Vulin would trail off for a second, furrowing his brows as he became deep in thought, trying to recall the term that was just at the tip of his tongue. Think, think he'd heard it before! Fennel, in noticing Vulin's struggling, would blink for a second, tilting his head. Though, he seemed to know what Vulin was talking about - prompting "Chrondigizoit?"
"Oh- yeah! Chrondigizoot! Like that Zudomon that visited ElDoradimon once, with his hammer - it was made of that stuff!" Vulin would respond with a bright smile as he recalled the Zudomon in question; he was really tall n tough looking! Fennel was half-tempted to correct Vulin's pronunciation of the word, but decided against it - it was close enough. Regardless though, Vulin would smile over to Mae, continuing "And I'm sure that there's flying digimon who talk to ElDoradimon sometimes! I can sort of fly - but it's difficult to do it for very long. When I get old enough though, to digivolve into something that can really fly like a Volcanicdramon, I want to use my wings to fly up and say hello to them! And I'll carry Fennel on my back or in my claws so he can say hi to them too!"
This enthusiastic declaration would be accompanied with Vulin excitedly rearing up on his legs proper, his wings spread wide - though he'd end up gently bapping Mae on the arm with one of his wings in the process. "Oops- sorry.. I'm a little clumsy with these things.." Vulin would murmur as soon as he realized it, settling back down sheepishly. Fennel would chuckle gently at this, and reach over to pat Vulin's head in a gentle show of reassurance.
"But uhm... Hey, what are Spirit Wielders?" Vulin would tilt his head, peering over to Mae. "Those sound really cool - are they sort of like, uh... Like how some digimon have little buddies with them? Like Saya's Onibidama, I dunno if they're... Living, or not, but they have cute little faces on them whenever she uses them to do stuff like light up candles!" He would smile brightly and almost nostalgically at the thought. Being that he and Fennel grew up in a city that wasn't very accepting of other humans, Spirit Wielders were an uncommon topic - and though Fennel knew a tiny bit, the little he did know was usually digimon regarding them with distaste or even disgust.
With the comments over the twos' opinions on water though, Vulin would nod and chuckle a little, scratching his head. Fennel, on the other hand, blinked - not seeming to expect the praise and smile. He reacted a little bit sheepishly, but would nod, murmuring "Oh- uhm... Thank you," Vulin was a bit amused at this, and would reach over to playfully punch Fennel in the shoulder, gently teasing "You're getting all shy, Fennel!" with a soft laugh - this laugh only growing a bit louder when Fennel reacted with a raspberry in Vulin's direction. It seemed to be all in good fun though; Fennel seeming to be growing a bit more relaxed around Mae, casting a small smile of his own in her direction.
"It's wonderful!" Vulin would agree to Mae's 'that's great', adding "You seem like a really sweet digimon, and you're nice to talk to - I wanna be big but nice like mons like you, when I properly grow up into an Ultimate!" Fennel, after a second, would smile and nod his agreement as well. He wasn't sure where he'd place Mae, exactly, but she didn't seem to be all that bad, at least as far as his impressions of her outside of combat went.

Mae was fairly certain this was what happens when you had that much magma in your data. You end up channeling it. "Oh, there's...more of your species? What happens when you digivo-...Actually, can you digivolve? I'm curious to see how you grow..." The Meicrackmon trailed off, before her smile persisted through Vulin's speech.
Really, Mae felt a sort of kinship forming the lil guys. "I can't fly. I can jump really high...But that's really it. Maybe I can fly as Rasielmon--or Raguelmon...I'm not sure, I'd have to actually reach that stage before anything. Maybe they're made of Chrome Digizoid too. The armor, I mean." Mae didn't seem to mind all that much at Vulin bapping her. "It's okay! I'm kind of clumsy sometimes too. I think it happens to all of us. So...Spirit Wielders aren't actually digimon. They're humans that are bonded with the spirits of Digimon--assumedly...dead ones, at that. They use power that these spirits give them to transform into Digimon. That's what I know about them...I know a few. One's like my sister--A nice girl by the name of Wakako Mozume." She grinned brightly! Did she really regard them with trust? It seems so.
"Hey, you'll get there soon. I know it. I mean...I can see the future, and I know I can't really see that far I'm sure it'll happen!"

"I mean... I'm pretty sure we can! Any digimon can digivolve with enough work and time, right?" Vulin would respond in question, smiling up to Mae with a positive hue. Sure, some digimon have a harder time than others, but if the two of them just kept at it, they'd be champions, ultimates, maybe even megas in no time! He couldn't wait to see that day.... Fennel seemed to share similar notions, smiling and nodding with Vulin; though he also recognized that, well, if they were the digimon that had a harder time, that day would be a long ways off...
At the mention of Rasielmon and Raguelmon, Vulin would perk and tilt his head like a curious puppy - having not seen or heard of such digimon before. "What are those forms like - Rasielmon and Raguelmon? Are they Megas?" He'd ask, eager to learn as always - and Fennel similarly seemed a bit curious, noticably more attentive.
As for the explanation of Spirit Wielders though... Fennel seemed a bit less interest. In fact, he seemed maybe a bit disgruntled at something - not necessarily Mae, but maybe... At the concept of Spirit Wielders themselves? Vulin would catch onto his twin's emotions seemingly easily - which made sense, given they were twins - and tilted his head in Fennel's direction, in quiet inquiry... Though Fennel didn't seem to respond. Vulin didn't push the subject, it seemed like something Fennel wasn't up to talking about. Given ElDoradimon's stances on humans, Vulin never heard much about them - or at least, not much good, though Saya sheltered him from most of prejudices that the locals held surrounding humans, and helped encourage him to have a kind and open heart. Fennel, on the other hand, heard plenty - both from the elder digimon he looked up to, and even from Jess - and the picture painted in his head wasn't very pretty.
In any case though, Vulin instead turned his attention back to Mae. "That sounds really cool! I've never really heard much about humans, or have seen them... Though I bet it's really awesome getting to be friends with these older spirit-y digimon!" He would chirp, adding in a curious question "What's this... Wakako Mozume like? She sounds like a great friend! What are humans like, too? I've never seen one before - though I guess it's because they don't come to ElDoradimon a lot." His tail was swishing more excitedly in the sand, though Fennel - as before - wasn't sharing as much in the excitement, just idly adjusting his cloak to pull it a little more around himself, and glancing off elsewhere.
The encouragement would still draw both of their attentions though, and they'd both nod in response- Vulin smiling brightly. "Yeah! I can't wait to see what we digivolve into- it'll be so cool!" Vulin would playfully headbutt Mae on the arm, more of a light bump than anything - tail swishing. "And you can see the future? That's awesome! Does that mean you get to know stuff like where you're gonna find food before you even find it?"
