'All fours' seemed to do the trick. After all, the Meicoomon was a cat - her sense of balance was much better when she moved like one! Unsurprisingly, Holly's movements were both much smoother and much faster. After the second attempt, it seemed the cat had more-or-less a handle on it.
"Its somewhat built into your instinct, but we can't completely rely on that. Keep going, until you're able to cut your time in half, and do it without having to pull your balance back up." Dark gave a nod, and resumed taking his position as a spectator, watching right next to Iris.
Holly would be at it for a while. so he figured he might as well catch up with the specter:
"I was quite surprised to hear that you were bringing back a recruit this time... you managed to pick up quite the gem, this one." Dark gave a nod, glancing over his arm towards the Shademon. "What's her story? Don't take this the wrong way, but she's... much more 'prim and proper' than most of the lot we bring in."

Holly hummed a little bit and shifted so that she could slide off of the 'end' of the little practice rope. She'd blink a little bit and slowly nod her head as Dark explained what she should do next. And he wasn't wrong, she would be at it for a while, but she made leaps and bounds with every time she went. As was how she seemed to do everything.
Iris on the other hand? Being that spectator he'd shift a few of his eyes to watch holly while the others met the impmon's. He was fine chatting it up while watching what amounted to his 'catch' as it was.
"Considering I haven't brought one back before I could see why."
The shademon shifted a little more and kept just a single eye on holly while the others focused on the impmon; he was asking about her story? It was such a simple one that he didn't actually know how to start exactly.
"She's been with her family for her entire life thus far; living in that Moving library out on the plains. You know that Doctor mikemon? And... That. Particular renamon? She's their daughter. Well one of two. So she's well learned; well kept and... You saw her scores? Well they aren't any sort of lie. She's a smart one, understands a lot. Give her a little bit to work with and she'll take a mile. I told her what we were about, what we do. She wanted a part of it. Maybe it's her personality or something else. But what I saw in such a short time... Well. We honestly could use someone like her."
The shademon let out a loose chuckle; all of his eyes focusing on the impmon. His shadow almost seemed to grin.
"I saw something in her I haven't seen in a long time Dark. But it's a small thing right now... Maybe when her edge presents itself again you'll see what I'm talking about. Prim and proper... Doesn't matter much when she's willing to go to such a drastic length so early."

"Mmm, true, its not really your department. But after losing Ogre and Light two months ago, we have been strained as far as our numbers go."
His tone was low enough that Holly wouldn't pick up on that, the Impmon tapping his finger to the side of the bench as he carefully looked over Holly's progress. She was rapidly getting used to that more natural form of movement - in all likelihood, it would carry over to her MeiCrackmon forms as well. Raguelmon, not as much, but it wasn't as if such a form could be an 'assassin' in the first place.
More interesting, of course, was Holly's origin. "You mean the white fox?" Likely receiving some sort of confirmation, the Impmon's eyes widened slightly. "The daughter of an unusually powerful Mikemon and a Renamon blessed with multiple knights... and to top it all off, she's driven and dedicated to a fault."
He gave a grin back, when given - but it was lost with a blink, as Iris spoke to her praise. "... I dunno, Iris. Motivation for motivation's sake can be a very flippant thing. Without a 'reason' to remind her... well, she might fit in, or she might think of us as her 'job of the week'." Dark gave a slight chuckle at that thought. "Sorry, being cynical's my job as a route planner. Don't read too much into my ramblings."

"I remember... But I've been too busy trying to keep up. Everyone can still feel their loss."
The meicoomon was enjoying herself a bit, rather liking how smooth it felt to use all four of her limbs instead of just two for balance sake. But she was still no where near where she needed to be, but the progress she was making... Well. It would only be a matter of time before she was there.
"Yes. Her. 'The white Fox'. I don't know about the whole blessed by knights thing... but..."
The Shademon frowned a little bit, every time that he had been around her his own senses seemed to abandon him. His desire for safety overwhelming; if they ever had to fight that...? Or the mikemon? He didn't want to think about it.
"Individuals that Luminas rightfully desires eyes on. I never saw either of them before, but... The reports were... Extremely under-exaggerated. Her mother is very powerful, her father is very powerful. If holly is anything like her parents in any scope. We'll have more than just an ally in the future. Driven and dedicated yes. Hopefully that stays."
The shademon frowned and watched the Meicoomon continue her practice, she was getting a lot faster and a lot more certain of herself with each pass. It was... interesting to watch from the outside again.
"You bring up a very good point Dark. But I think once she gets into this, once she's tasted how it can be she won't want to leave. Her reasoning is for her family; as long as that reason stays... Well. It would behoove us to keep an eye on them from time to time when she makes it through. It's wise to listen to what you have to say Dark, you bring questions others don't want to think about."
Holly slide to a stop and flicked her ears after a few moments. Huffing to herself at the end of that rope she'd hop down and stretch again. Her limbs were getting a little stiff being like that for too long! The shademon glanced up at the impmon again, his features sliding into a smile.
"And consider this. She was able to make her father feel as though he was in danger during one of her stealth practices. That same Mikemon felt danger from his own daughter."

"Luckily, Luminas dropped the idea of that fox as a target a while back. Otherwise we might have our hands tied..." The Impmon gave a small 'tsk' through his teeth, idly watching the Meicoomon improve. Indeed, hopefully that fragile stability didn't shift the other way any time in the near future.
As for the rest? It boiled down to the fact that Iris had faith in Holly, to see this through. "Well, then I hope you're ready to stick in her shadow for quite a bit longer. Eh... after the first or second job, we'll see just how committed she'll be to this. At the very least, she's willing to learn - hm?" By what means did Holly manage to make her father scared? She has a keen sense of intuition, if nothing else...
... Ah, but was Holly starting to reach her limit? "Iris, about how long has she been going at this?" Dark had lost track of time - but he'd still call out to the Meicoomon. "Five more times across the wire. You're getting better, but we have to learn to push through it when we're worn down mid-job. At least figure out how it feels to push through your fatigue so you'll know how to handle it later!"

"Better that we didn't get embroiled in whatever that was to be honest."
The shademon watched holly with a curious sort of twitch to his eyes. That tsk that the impmon gave drew a bit of a raised eyebrow and bemused chuckle. The idea of him staying in the shadow of holly's wasn't a bad one, nor did he mind. It was... somewhat nice being around something without too much in the way of negative thoughts. Refreshing almost.
"I am, I was figuring I'd stay in her shadow until her training was more or less done. Wouldn't be wise to let something like this slip through our fingers so to speak."
The shademon blinked a little bit and frowned as Dark inquired about how long she had been going for. With a small shake of the head he'd give Dark the answer he was looking for.
"Thirty minutes just about."
Holly blinked a little bit and finished her stretching before nodding. Heading back over to the wire, sure she was feeling a bit achy but she felt like she could still do this! Even if she was tiring out a bit with doing something she was so unused to.
"Right right... makes sense..."
The meicoomon mumbled a bit and went over the wire again. Seeming as though she was slipping up here or there, but she still managed to make it the first time over the wire without much issue. The following two were okay... and well the last two she'd fall off with a grunt only to go back to trying again. But she didn't stop there, figuring that she had to start all over on those 'five' times. Iris slid a part of himself to Dark's shadow, if allowed to make sure that Holly wouldn't hear this particular part.
Many individuals have trouble hiding their killing intent, it's not uncommon we have to practice for so long to hide it when we want. But what do you think about someone who had that intent against one of their own family members? No. Someone she loved with every fiber of her being? What does that tell you Dark? About this cat?

"Right." No reason to get tied up in Luminas' mess. So long as they could avoid it, they wouldn't bite at that pill.
Still, she'd been at this for thirty minutes? That was an impressive amount of time to test one's balance like this: surely she was starting to feel the strain in her legs? The Impmon kept watch over those next few times. Three out of five at that fatigue level, then? Not the best, but certainly not the worse. "Well, like the rest of us, she's going to have to learn to run religiously like a race horse... hm?"
Feeling Iris' shadow slip into his own, his ear briefly flicked at the Shademon's words. He was asking her about the cat's latent killing intent? One she was able to show against her own father?
Meicoomon are naturally hunters, so its not a surprise. Its just a normal sensation that we gave a name to - that assassins feel at a higher level than most. All it tells me is that she's quite dedicated to the craft...
Case in point, what was this, number seven? The Impmon held a hand up: "Alright, time for a break, Holly. You need to give your legs time to rest so they can shore up and improve." With that, the Impmon would stand, stretching out his arms. "Over the next few days, you're going to be learning mapping, pathing, our hand signals, and quite a few other things. Suffice to say, it'll be a few weeks before we'll have you on a job." Ideally, at least.
"Hm... Shade, I think 'Locker 3' is open?" The Impmon was, of course, referring to the boxes under the hammocks. "That whole lot there can be her's."

"There was only so much I could do in a week, and it's not like her father was exactly pushing her with his training."
The shademon's eyes flicked to watch the meicoomon as she continued through her paces. The idea of her moving like that later on was something he couldn't wait to see. If training went well enough... she'd be doing jobs in no time.
Naturally yes, but so early... I thought it was a touch... surprising.
Holly slid off of the wires when Dark told her that she needed to take a break. She'd stretch a little bit and blink as he explained the things that she would be learning. Mapping, pathing, their hand signals... and a large list of other things.
Wait it'd be only a few weeks before they had her on a Job?
Holly was expecting it to be much longer than just a simple few weeks? But perhaps they just wanted to see how she would be coming along then. She doubted that training was going to be that simple even.
"I'll keep that in mind for when I'm practicing in the future... oh? More stuff to learn? All right. I wasn't expecting that to be so... Soon."
She'd blink a few times and look to Iris would shift a little bit dipping his 'head' in a small nod. Holly furrowed her brow slowly and the Shademon would simply just head over to meld with her shadow again.
"It was open the last time I was here unless someone decided to take it."
"I get a locker?"
Holly shifted a little bit and brought a paw to her mouth; there was a lot that she had to learn still and a lot that they would be teaching her past that. She'd cast a glance back at that balance training and flick her ears thoughtfully.
"Anything else I should know..?"

"Judging by what we've learned from Iris, even if you aren't directly involved in a job, your skills will still be of use to us. And don't worry - you won't be on your own for one of these for a while, yet."
The Impmon understood that surprise, and gave just that slight bit of clarification. 'Locker 3' was open, and Holly found herself a bit surprised to receive one so soon! "Well, 'locker', 'box', same deal. Its where you'll keep stuff you don't want someone on the outside to find." Leading into that room, the Impmon would move to a lockbox on the side, and produce a simple key, tossing it over to the Meicoomon.
Was there anything else she should know?
"Iris will handle letting you know how to get out of the base, as well as the coding to talk to us outside of it. And, to be clear," the Impmon tapped the black armband that wrapped around his shoulder: "When you get one of these, its to be worn in the base or 'on the job' only - and in the latter case, only when its beneficial for us to stand out." The reasons for this, considering their line of work, were quite obvious.
"For now, you need to keep a 'normal' schedule, so as to not rouse suspicion. Iris, have you worked with her for a story to cover her new habits?"

"Oh! Okay! Had me worried for a moment there.."
Holly let out a relieved sigh and followed after the impmon. She'd tilt her head slightly staring at the 'box' that he said was hers, tossing that key to her prompted her to catch it. She'd stare at it for a moments and stash it away in her fur for the moment. She'd have to tie a string around it later...
"Mmm. Fair enough. I don't really have much in the way of anything for the moment..."
Holly flicked an ear as Dark explained more about all of this, how iris would be telling her how to get out of the base and code to talk outside of it. Simple stuff that would keep her safe. She'd blink a few times and simply nod as he told her about those black armbands. She couldn't imagine that they'd serve much in the way of a purpose unless they wanted to be seen.
"Makes sense to me."
Iris blinked a little bit and glanced at Holly who sighed softly. The shadow shook his head slowly for a moment and shifted just a bit to become more prominent in that shadow of hers.
"Not as of yet, still working on it. But we'll have something more concrete when they manifest. Those she interacts with won't be easy to fool either..."
Honestly the shademon wasn't sure exactly how to put out these new habits with someone that didn't have many to begin with. It'd be frustrating but... There was quite a bit that she could use and could do that would line up.
"Strange sleeping habits, moving around quietly... And a few other things... Wouldn't a guard of some kind fit?"
"We'll talk more about this later Holly."

No cover story yet? "Tch... well, I'm sure you two will come up with something." Honestly, if Holly couldn't cover this small hurdle, it would just prove a hindrance to the group - and at this early juncture, it could just be considered a type of test. But it seemed that they had at least an idea of what to do going forward.
For now, though? "Alright, catch some rest, at least. We'll be going into more drills going forward - you'll be working with either myself or 'Peck'. Iris will keep you on schedule." Past that, he'd give a nod, and leave Holly to her own devices. After all, with only a 'few weeks', she had a lot to catch herself up on... Heck, even to that weekend, Holly would have gone through quite a few drills. Whether it was memorization, climbing walls, climbing rope, or just running, there was little downtime she'd have other than her time relaxing in the hammock. If nothing else, it kept her occupied, driven, and swiftly improving in the areas that were necessary for the job.
However, this Saturday would be a little different. She'd enter the guild, same as ever, to hear a few people conversing in the main room. Among them would be a figure that Holly hadn't seen before, a Ravemon (X). But it would be immediately clear who this was:
'Boss'. Right now, he was working with Wolf, poking a few points on the map, as Dark observed at the edge of the table. At the sudden impact against the cushion, however, the bird's attention would be drawn.
"Hm? Ah, Iris." Boss gave a nod, settling his gaze on the new recruit. "And Holly, yes." His tone sounded focused, as if still thinking about the task at hand. Still, he could extend at least a basic introduction: "Well, welcome aboard. Iris, how would you say she's coming along?"
Oof. A bit direct, wasn't he?

"Don't worry dark. We'll find something."
The confidence in those words made Holly bristle just a bit; she'd reach up to scratch at her ear. She had a few ideas that her parents would easily accept and others that would work well with other people. She'd hum a little bit and slowly nod her head as she was told to rest. The individuals here were already so interesting and well she still thought that the nicknames were a touch... Odd.
"All right. Peck being from... upstairs yeah?"
"Don't worry, it won't be too hard to keep her on schedule. She usually adheres to whatever is given anyways."
"Something else to work on too..."
Holly knew how dangerous keeping to a simple schedule would be, frowning softly she'd head over to go catch up on rest...
The drills, oh did those drills keep her busy. From memorization, to the fun of climbing walls, rope and the usual exercise gave her quite a rush. She enjoyed physical activity and she could feel her body twitching whenever she had that downtime in her hammock. She'd go over things with Iris as she could, asking questions that he sometimes had the answer to and others he didn't. Which only meant for her to go to others to ask the same.
The Saturday entry to the guild felt somewhat the same, but hearing that conversation in the main room and seeing that figure gave her a quick thoughtful pause. Her mind raced, the tones that the others held with this individual were steeped in respect. His power abundantly obvious as well... This had to be the Boss that she had been told about.
She somewhat cursed the impact against the cushion, as she wanted to observe what would be her boss for the foreseeable future for a little longer than a couple odd seconds. Perhaps she'd get the chance to down the line but... She somehow doubted it unless she made some decent headway.
"Good to see you Boss."
"...Hello... Boss. Uh.. Thank you."
Holly perked up a little bit and glanced down at Iris as Boss inquired about how she was coming along. Iris gave a somewhat thoughtful sound and slid more out of that shadow to better address his leader.
"She's moving through everything at the pace that we expected. Some things are giving her a little trouble but it's not like she's staying in them. She'll be ready for that first job no questions asked. Considering she sleeps far less than we predicated we've been able to cover more ground."
There was a three or four second pause as the Shademon realized he hadn't answered the question. Huffing he'd speak plainly...
"She's coming along well."

"Heh, no need to sound nervous - though I guess the tone in the room now's one you could cut with a knife. We roll out tomorrow, after all."
Yes, Boss tended to be much more expressive and positive than he was being at the moment, but a job was a job, and it seemed that nerves and focus even took hold at the top. From the long and short of it, it sounded as if Holly was proceeding well enough. But, that was just following up with Iris.
Boss would simply return a nod towards the Shademon, before kneeling down to Holly's height, meeting her eye to eye. "Well, you certainly seem to fit in quite well already... tell me." The Ravemon gave a nod: "How do you think you'll fit in here? Will your role be for intruding, information, or planning the routes?" He didn't expect her to completely know the answer - nor was anything said exclusive to itself, or something she had to stick to.
What he was more looking for, was how Holly had been 'thinking' up to this point. Was she just following orders, or did she have her own ideas?

"That and it's my first time meeting you. I wasn't really sure what to expect."
Holly let out a small sigh and shook her head, sharing a glance with Iris who seemed confident enough in her abilities to speak a handful of what she amounted to selective praise. Iris didn't really have much more to add to this and with Boss kneeling down...
Holly couldn't help but feel a little out of sorts with meeting those eyes. Even her parents didn't really do this all too often, inf act there was just the once with her father if she thought about it. She really fit in already? She'd blink a few times and furrow her brow curious.
Each role was something she could do without a doubt, given enough time she could perform each one to their specifics but there was something that she saw for herself that would... Be more a challenge. To oversee everything, find all the information needed... and planning the routes. Flicking an ear she'd rub at her cheek.
"I'd be more suited for intruding in a physical sense, information and such is a strong suit of mine with how much the library had taught me to go over information and the application of present information to those routes is something else I could do too. I think... But if I had to pick one to start with it'd be Intruding, followed by information and planning. Put to practice what I learned in training, then show how I understand the information and planning phases by giving people hings to work with."
The meicoomon tilted her head a little bit and stared at the Ravemon for a few long moments.
"And maybe. Just maybe. Some day for a job I could do all three."

Well...
Really, all Boss got from that exchange was that Holly was an honest and driven individual - just like Iris and Dark had explained to him before. She knew her strong suit, but wanted to go beyond the 'planning' and actually get her claws dirty. Still, it seemed that all three were at least of some interest to the Meicoomon.
At that last comment, though, the Ravemon gave a chuckle. "Now, careful, there. Confidence is one thing, but what we do is a team effort, Holly. If you're out on the job, you need another one back 'home' able to watch your back." There was a method to this, but Boss wasn't docking her too hard - at least for now - for not knowing what these methods were.
But, she wanted to be an infiltrator? That would make her the one committing the act. From what the Ravemon knew about her, that was at least somewhat of a surprise. "Alright, we'll adjust your training, somewhat, accordingly. And sorry for the brevity, but work calls. All you need to know, for now, is that my word trumps Dark's. As the 'leader' here, I'm the one who divides the payouts and assigns the tasks. Anyway..."
Ah, right on cue: the Impmon turned the corner giving a nod towards the Meicoomon, and a half-bow to the Ravemon. "I'll take it from here?"
"Hm." The bird returned a nod, slipping back off to the table, as the Impmon offered a hand to help Holly up. "He's a bit of a hands-off boss, but the lot of us are pretty self-sufficient, so it works. I trust you've been getting the running in?"
