Mao was very unsure what to do with this knowledge. At...the very least Ayumi wasn't looking away from her because she was ugly or anything. "Three to four minutes...Seems like an actual airline." Wonder if they were going to taxi the train into a runway or something?
"Wait a se-...You had cake on graduation day? All my folks got was pizza! ...A lot of pizza!" That was, truthfully, the only thing Mao recalled about graduating high school. Mao decided to take a look at the barren surface...Well, it looked barren. But it at least also held some qualities that the spirit wielder considered pretty.
"It's like snow. Rocky snow..." She murmured after a few seconds. Maybe? "...Hey, wanna bet the lunar surface is just rocky snow?"

Ayumi looked flustered, which was quite a welcome difference to her usual embarrassment. "Ah, my parents were super happy I graduated at the top of my class with perfect scores, so they asked a local baker to make a huge cake for me, and threw a big party, the whole neighbourhood was there. It was kinda overdone, but I cannot fault parents for their pride..."
Luckily, the landing quickly changed the topic before Ayumi would need to feel even more flustered. Once the train had settled at the station, the doors opened. Solomon rose from his seat. "Well, shall we? Perhaps it really will be rocky snow."

"Neato. I...uh. Okay, I didn't get perfect scores or anything, but I did pretty good. Mom and dad asked what I wanted and I was like...Just give me a pizza or something. I didn't...care too much about graduation but they were still pretty happy." Mao didn't really want to mention the other reason she was glad about graduating. The keen-eyed could note that she suddenly seemed a bit uncomfortable about the topic for one reason or another.
Thankfully the train landed. They didn't need to continue this anymore. "Yeah, let's take a few steps for ourselves. And a bigger leap for others." Mao gave a smile as she proceeded out of the train.

Indeed, Ayumi was grateful for the change of topic, too./ She hated it when people felt inferior because of something she had no control over! Luckily, they did land on the moon at last! And Ayumi did not want to get snubbed on the chance to set foot on the lunar surface first! "Haha! A small step for an Angel, but a huge step for Digital Sciences!" And she stepped...onto a railway platform. Under a glass dome. Of course they would not exit just on the lunar surface. Rather, this platform seemed to be part of a domed city! "Oh..." She tried hard to not sound disappointed.

While this wasn't quite the surface of the moon just yet? It was...an interesting sight, for Mao. "Huh, a city. That means we have other places to look at after heading to the surface." It was like this didn't even really faze her. She glanced over to the disappointed albino and gave her a gentle nudge.
"Wanna see if there's any exits out to the surface?" ...C'mon. Cheer up. "It might take a few more steps than necessary but we'll get there eventually."
Mao wasn't sure if she was talking out of her ass at this point but she felt it was pretty convincing.

It did help the girl regain her lost gumption! She was smiling again! "You're right! Come on, Solomon, let's find an exit!" The girl was already running ahead. Solomon could only look at Mao, sigh, and then run after her. Indeed, soon they reached the second dome of the station. There were two pathways: one led outside, the other led underground. Now Ayumi was a bit torn about where to go. "uuuuh, wow, there's tunnels on the moon? That's awesome! Ugh, where do I wanna go first...?" She looked left and right, then turned to Mao. "Mao, you make a call! Where do we go??"

Mao felt unsure about whether to consider the results of what she just said good or not, considering that look Solomon just gave her. Ultimately, she fell to the conclusion that it was both, and ran after Ayumi and her partner.
They were then confronted with a fork in the road. "I guess it depends. One seems like it leads outside and the other into a tunnel. Now, the tunnel could also lead outside, but we'd have to go through it to find out. I think if we want to see as much as we can, we should go to the tunnel and see what's up down there and if we can go out through there."

"Hah, excellent assertion, Mao! You're gonna be a great explorer! Ok, down into the tunnel we go!" With that, she quickly descended the stairs, being unable to hide her excitement. And there, the two found a tunnel where either side of the wall was absolutely *lined* by little stalls, shops, restaurants and anything else. It felt like a narrow shopping street in Asakusa. Digimon were offering their wares to other Digimon, the whole tunnel was illuminated by a row of lights on the ceiling. Potted plants gave the whole tunnel a look of a traditional Japanese market. Ayumi was a bit stunned. "W-w-w-wow. -Really- good call, Mao!"

"Wait, you...honestly think that?" Mao asked, before shaking her head. Nah, she probably really did mean it. Of course, Mao following Ayumi down the stairs meant that she was greeted by a sight that felt very familiar to her.
Her family had been to Asakusa before. She thought it was an interesting place back then, so seeing something so...reminiscent of it had drawn a smile from the teenager. "...Wow indeed. Wanna buy anything or should we keep moving?" She was trying to get a good look at the plants--see if they were any different than the ones on the surface.

Ayumi grinned. "The surface can wait, this looks great! Let's see what they all got on sale!" Ayumi skipped past Digimon, seeking out the most interesting wares. She found one selling pretty moon gems near one of the potted plants, allowing Mao a nice, good look at them. They seemed to be squat, tree-fern-like growths, with silvery leaves. Their fronds weaved gently in a soft breeze of their own making, as they pumped out oxygen to keep the tunnel habitable. Solomon stayed by Mao's side, looking the plant over as Ayumi marveled at the colourful lunar gems. The smell of ramen and fried meat wafted through the air.

She did have a point. This was probably the more interesting part of today. The girl found herself staring towards the leaves for a good few moments. "...These look a little out of this world, huh?"
Yes, absolutely. Vemmon chimed in. The spirit dared not to manifest here, but even he could appreciate beauty from a distance. "...Do you think these would survive in the Real World? Or on the...Not the moon?" Mao found herself asking Ayumi. It made sense, given the girl was pretty much the smartest person in the room at the moment.
Plus, she wanted her thoughts on this. Because she had no idea if it'd be a good idea to buy some cute gems or not. Or try getting a plant.

"Hm?" Ayumi turned around, having focused on the gems. She needed a second to realize she was being asked a question. "Oh! I'd say yes! Though the bright colour would make them very susceptible to direct sunlight! I'd presume they grow in the twilight areas of the Moon, where the sunlight is weaker! Would also explain why we couldn't see any when we left the train!" "And how do they then produce oxygene if they cannot handle sunlight?" "Uuuuh, life...finds a way!" She giggled awkwardly. Clearly, she did not know unless she spent some time researching this deeper!

"Er...Susceptible in a good way or a bad way? I understand why they'd probably grow where the sun's weaker, at least...I also think they just grow underground. Which itself is pretty cool, isn't it?" Mao had a pretty simple guess to Solomon's question, something that could also help Ayumi some.
"Maybe being here for an extended amount of time just enabled them to figure a way to produce oxygen without sunlight?" ...On the bright side, she at least knew the answer to her earlier question. It was one of those things that just answered themselves. Mao tapped her chin a few times. "...So basically life does find a way...Should we buy some stuff then keep going?"

"Y-y-y-yeah, they seem to have adapted to lower light conditions, eheheh!" Ayumi was grateful for any chance to change the topic. While it was natural to not know something, so many people have come to see her as a genius that she always felt awkward when she had no answer. "Ah, yes, let's buy something! I'll take...this!" She held up a small, black stone, which had an opalescent sheen to it. In certain angles, little specks of rainbow light could be seen. It was quite a pretty rock! "Any pretty stones here that catch your eye, Mao?"

"Man, that's crazy. It's kind of like the stuff at the bottom of the ocean. It's so dark that they need to live without light--the same would be true here." Genius or not? Mao knew the pain of not knowing answers. It was something she didn't wish on anyone, especially Ayumi.
She was, after all, her buddy for this adventure. As for what stones? Mao scanned the shop before she homed in on one. It was a much less extravagant rock than the rainbowy one Ayumi had picked up, but it was black all the same. But what shone off of it was a pretty shade of purple.
"What do you think of this?" She said, moving closer to show Ayumi the one she picked up.
