The frozen north was her home away from everything.
A place that she had grown as a youth under the tender love and care of her parents. Those that decided to take her in that one winter night for a lifetime they would never forget. It's where her warmth came from, where her understanding of others came from. It's where she grew to be what she would eventually become in a sense.
Without her being out here at first she never would of went to less frigid lands, never would of adventured. She would of been a simple hermit living her life out atop a mountain wielding an indescribable power. It was a place she could reflect upon whenever she went there. A place that she could learn more of herself and of those around here if she so desired.
So when she was contacted by a mon she thought dead?
Her thoughts were halted, her cause of course was still moving forward and would continue to do so even in her absence. She simply agreed to meet the individual at the mountains at an agreed upon time and a set of simple coordinates. There was little hesitance in her step. Little hesitance in the way she moved up the mountain. Her claws dragging along the side of the ridge she was striding up without much of an issue.
Her cloak was making any true troubles simply vanish. These mountains held little threat to her even in her renamon form. Sure some of the banks would of been too deep for her but she simply would bound over those without much issue.
She'd pause briefly looking up towards the top of the mountain. No one foolishly would pick the top of a mountain without a reason. It would be hard for many to get up there... would be safe from threats. Was this a trap she should be considering?
"If it was a trap he chose poorly... But if this is honestly him... no better place to share a view with an old friend."
A sweet sigh followed and she'd slowly move up the mountainside... it would be quite some time before she actually reached the top. But the question persisted, was she actually alone? Who was watching? Could this be a trap? Why here of all places?

"Why here, of all places?"
Angel did not expect this sort of thing as their next outing. Sure, it was great that her General finally got his motivation back, and the fact that he found a signal for a potential partner was great news! But, did they really need to tackle this one first? Leading the way, the Renamon crossed her arms, lightly rubbing across them to work the chill away from her skin.
More composed was her tamer, the General keeping in step behind her. Unlike the fox, Denryu seemed much more neutral to the weather, simply wearing a jacket and thicker pants, his hands lightly shoved into his front pockets. "For one, its completely out of the way, and for two, whoever has this signal wasn't originally a part of our team. The odds of us being noticed out here are slim to none."
"The odds of us seeing anyone out here are slim to none, you dolt. Ugh..." Enough of that, for now. Staring up another sheer wall, the fox swiftly climbed her way up - her tamer following behind, almost as quickly as she did! "Glad to see you got your kick back in your step..."
"Keep focused."
Focused for what? It wasn't as if anyone else would be...
... Huh. Stretching her arms over the top of the cliff, and pulling herself halfway up, Angel found herself doing a double-take. Right there stood a white-furred Renamon, one that almost blended into the snow and ice behind her. Left in that position for a moment, Angel chanced a greeting: "Um... hi?"
Oh, please don't be hostile, she thought as she clambered on up!

K took a moment to stare out at the scenery as she climbed, taking in the view from up so high. You could see for many miles and anyone that hadn't seen it before would find such a view breathtaking. Though to many this view would be lost to; they wouldn't have the chance without risking their very limbs just to get up this high. Those that flew wouldn't really think twice about this sort of scenery either.
So her surprise was evident for a moment as she heard two voices; making her pause and place her hands together. She'd look around for a few moments before two arms streched over the cliff. She recognized the sort of sleeves that went with those hands. She had them herself after all. The fur that followed was unlike hers, not meant for places like this nor was it white. There was a small sigh and she'd part her hands at that greeting. Even going so far to offer a helpful hand to pull the other up.
Her ear flicked and her expression turned somewhat astonished. She recognized that voice from somewhere... Wasn't that the same renamon from the forest? Back from the hunter...
"Hello."
Just what was she doing out here? Was it another assignment from whoever her boss was? She'd maybe find an answer if she asked but she somehow doubted it. It wouldn't hurt and she'd quietly voice her question; it was obvious she was curious it was practically laced into her voice.
"What are you doing up here? Not many like coming up this far."
It was likely they would ask the same of course, and K would of course share. Though honestly her trek around the world needed really no sort of explanation. If she had to she could simply pass it off as a simple patrol of sorts...

Alright, good: not hostile. Returning a nod to K's hello, the Renamon reached up towards the other fox's, allowing herself to be pulled on up. After the initial shock of seeing any other Digimon here, it didn't take long for her to notice.
"... You're that Shutmon from the Dark Area job?" Well, this world was just getting smaller every day, wasn't it? K soon asked just why this Renamon was here, Angel's ear flickering briefly at the question. She was just about to retort that it was none of her business, but before she could, her tamer pulled himself up over the edge.
"The same reason any tamer goes to the middle of nowhere in this world." Taking a step forward, he'd hold out his Xros Loader, for K to view. On the screen was a small map of the area, with a blinking arrow pointing in the direction of the mountain summit. The General didn't offer an explanation other than that, not even saying if it was an armor egg or something else that he was after.
"If you're heading up to the top, it would make more sense to go as a group. It's not often that anyone goes this high - wouldn't be hard for a drift to break off and crash halfway down the mountain."
"Yeah, I think you could have cut that explanation about a sentence earlier, D." The Renamon rolled her eyes, returning her attention to K. "Well, if you don't mind us tagging along..."

"Yes that would be me."
K sported a somewhat easy smile and tilted her head just a little bit as the tamer pulled himself up. She hadn't met them before and she'd quirk a brow at his answer to her posed question. Even going so far as to show her his device which the screen was a small map of the area.
The summit? The same summit that she was heading up to to meet an old friend. She'd simply dip her head in a nod and glance upwards towards the top of the mountain. They wanted something that was up there too; it didn't matter much what as long as it wasn't going to lead them crossing blades. She doubted that they were after guru but... if they were she hoped it was for peaceful reasons.
"An objective of some kind. I am heading to the top. Ah... Yes you do have a point there."
The renamon stretched a little bit and turned to continue upwards on the ridge. Her confidence in her steps was something that most wouldn't have here without extreme practice. But hers was more in the guarded fact she could fly.
"Company is appreciated. Might take a good while to get up there..."
A small roll of her shoulders which was quickly followed by a shrug. She didn't need to know everything; and if they would want to skip out on what their objective was past the fact it was up there well.. She wasn't going to press too hard. She sort of got the idea that neither one of these two were much in the way of talkers. So she wouldn't say more than she needed to. If they wanted to talk they would point out something or start something up. She didn't know where to start with either of them anyways. She knew little of the renamon and knew nothing of the tamer. But that was okay.
Couldn't make friends with everyone after all.

Talkers, these two were not, but it was much easier to get along amicably than to get off on the wrong foot. Denryu gave a nod towards K, and it didn't take long for the three of them to start taking their trek up.
And though they weren't much for words, it didn't take long to see the difference between K and Angel. As opposed to the innkeeper who spent a good part of her life indoors, Angel still had quite the 'feral' sense about her. Every so often, she'd simply try and get a sniff of the air or perk an ear off to the side. And when it came to climbing, Angel would seem fast by comparison, often waiting at the top for both her tamer and for K to catch up.
It had been a long while since Denryu had traveled alone with Angel, and honestly, it was a bit refreshing to see her like this.
As the three made their way further up the mountain, the wind starting to pick up slightly, it wouldn't be long before the two foxes would catch the scent of something further up: smoke. Angel blinked, rubbing the edge of her nose: "Smells like a campfire. Besides, nothing natural up here would burn that well."
"Hm... from the top?"
"Think so..." The fox looked up, and, yes, there was a thin trail of smoke carrying from just a hundred feet up, from that flattened summit.
... Which was out of reach, by the end of what they had made out to be a path. All that was left was a path upwards, a good hundred feet or so of a sheer climb upward. Even Angel hesitated at the sight of that.

Slow but steady, calm but certain. Each step of hers was something easy to see, and the ones that Angel made spoke of her life much different than hers. It was something that the renamon could pick up on. Worlds apart of one another no doubt; but if they were reversed would they even be the same? If K had so wished it she could of gone faster, gone up quickly but it was nice to just... set a simple pace.
The billowing of her cloak would quickly alert her to that wind change and the renamon paused as the smell of smoke passed through her nostrils. There was a small frown and the renamon stared forward. Nothing natural would of course burn out here; it would have to be something that was started in cover or perhaps with some aid from other abilities perhaps?
"A fire ability perhaps? Mixed with something.. large."
K turned one of her hands over taking a moment to reflect on something before slowly walking forward. She'd look straight up at that sheer climb with a flat expression. This was no real challenge to her... but to her companions they would need something else no?
The renamon quietly considered the options in front of her and shrugged her shoulders turning her head back to the other two.
"I can fly you know; carry one up at a time. Or digivolve to shutmon and pass you the cloak."
The renamon looked upwards again and considered briefly what they could do once again. The option.. of climbing certainly would give any thoughtful pause but there was a simple way of protecting themselves from the sheer height of this thing. There was little in the way of hesitation as she placed a hand on the sheer face; as though testing it in some manner.
"Unless you want to climb, I could be the one on the bottom just in case of a fall."

Fly up one at a time?
Were it so easy. As K made the suggestion, Angel felt her teeth grit for just a moment. If Falcon were here, this would be entirely a trivial manner - but Denryu had a different take. "Appreciated, but unnecessary. Given your status," Denryu nodded to K, "It might be a better idea to have a more 'natural' data signal spike." That way, they would draw less attention overall.
Well, that was Denryu's idea, anyway. Drawing his Xros Loader, Angel returned a short nod, stepping a short distance away.
"By your own power." A brief flash of light radiated from Denryu's device, and without any 'warm-up', Angel's body radiated that same glow. It didn't take long for the Taomon to make her appearance. The brush-wielding fox stepped closer to the other two, and with a simple clack of her brush, a shield - like a bubble - surrounded them. It took only a few moments - like riding a quiet elevator - for the three to reach the top.
The bubble would soon settle on a flat patch of snow, the shield vanishing as silently as it appeared. Above that tricky cliff was a surprisingly smooth summit, one that looked unnaturally cut into the stone, perhaps by some ancient fight. Towards the center was quite the simple set-up: just a simple fire-pit. Whoever set this up clearly had made camp somewhere less exposed to the wind... but perhaps K wouldn't even notice the fire.
A bit off to the right, up a small slope, sat the Reppamon, looking off towards the sunset. He hadn't moved as the three made their landing, a small amount of holy light surrounding the weasel's frame.
"... Meditating?"

K blinked a few times, her suggestion deflected and at mention of her status the fox sighed softly. He had a distinct point. Her holy power even in small spikes would draw attention. She'd dip her head in a smooth nod and tilt her head as he followed suit with the idea of a more natural data spike. He could only mean his partner who K's blue eyes rested on when she stepped away.
"You have a point."
It was... always odd to see another renamon digivolve. It was even stranger to see their proper evolution; as far as K went she was an anathma. None of her forms held any proper connection to what the fox was supposed to be. Did she dislike that? No it just pointed out just how different she truly was.
K held her gaze on the Taomon for a moment before turning a little to stare up at the sheer face again. That simple clack causing a single ear to flick. The shield that was more like a bubble that surrounded them cut out the wind causing her cloak to stop it's fluttering. The quiet 'elevator' ride was something simple and disconnecting from the outside world even if it was a few moments spent away from it.
K's eyes swept the area, taking in everything. She'd frown quietly, noting the simple set up that the individual had here. Just a fire pit among the ruins of what could of been an ancient fight. Her eyes locked onto the reppamon; her chest pulling awkwardly as she remembered that fight. A hand came up to her neck unconsciously and she'd mumble the name of the reppamon.
"Guru..."
She'd step forward slowly; that holy light was one that she hadn't seen before. Nor had she ever walked in on the weasel while he was meditating. Was this sort of light similar to one that might of come from her during her meditations? She didn't know.
"It would make sense for him to meditate. There's much to consider and reflect upon after all... personal or not."
The renamon paused a good ten or so feet away and slowly sat down. Her hands placing themselves on her knees and she'd quietly stare at the reppamon. Her own eyes closed after a long few moments and just as quietly she'd try to reach out; she was like child grasping at straws with this sort of thing but... she doubted that he would respond to them normally for the moment.
Guru...?

Was this a bad time?
As Angel's Taomon form once more slipped back to Renamon, she couldn't help but have that thought. K's reaction, the soft tone of her voice, and even the visible fear in her stature spoke volumes: whatever was about to happen here was important, both to herself and the Reppamon. Past that, the Reppamon's own posture suggested that he didn't really want to be found, purely content meditating by himself in this frigid climate.
"... Just what did these two have..."
The tone was too awkward, and so for the moment, Denryu and Angel kept to themselves, idly sitting by the remains of the firepit. Angel kept her gaze curiously on the other Renamon, whereas Denryu only gave an occasional glance in that direction. For a few minutes, the summit kept its eerie silence.
It was Reppamon who was the first to speak. With an audible breath outward, the holy light would slowly dissipate from around the weasel, the masked Digimon turning to face his visitors - primarily, K herself. As soon as the weasel's eyes met her own, he found himself unable to meet them for more than a few moments.
"... K." The weasel gave a short nod, gesturing his guest to come closer. "Honestly, I've yet to come to terms with what I did to you - or, really, anything that happened in the Dark Area. Ever since I came back, I've felt compelled to reach out to you. And now that you're here, I..."
He sighed.
"I have no idea what I'm supposed to say."

K simply sat there, waiting for the response from the reppamon. The inquiry that the other renamon posed was simply just not met in any fashion. They were friends once, she'd like to consider them friends again. Even if there was a rough spectrum of events between the two of them.
That eerie silence was fine with her. She had sat in such a state for so long before that this sort of thing was just... normal for her. That audible breath that the reppamon gave alerted K to his 'awakening'. She'd slowly tilt her head and find those eyes meeting her own. He was unable to keep it for too long.
She'd slowly stand up, an ear flicking again as he spoke her name. She'd let out an uneasy sigh and slowly approach. Looking somewhat uncertain herself. She'd close her eyes after a moment and shake her head slowly. For many they would be angry at this sort of thing, but K herself had forgiven him for his actions before he had even partaken in it. She had worked towards moving on past her inn being gone with the help of her friends.
Uneasily she'd reach out for a moment with one hand and then quickly it was followed with the renamon firmly pulling the reppamon into a hug. Somewhat soft, somewhat gentle... and very forgiving. She didn't know where to even start with him but she had so much to thank him for.
Even with that... particular incident hanging over the both of them. She'd sigh softly and gently butt her head against his.
"You don't have to say anything. I'm just... glad you're safe."
There was a few awkward moments then she'd sigh softly. She scratched at her neck and let out the rest of her breath; she wasn't sure what she could earnestly say without dragging this on for too long...
"There's. Nothing that can change what happened. But that doesn't stop us from moving forward. I still consider you a friend and I doubt that will change anytime soon."

... It was the same as last time.
In the Dark Area, right before that rabid Reppamon had sunk his fangs into K's neck, the Renamon had already forgiven him for the act of which he had no control. And here, where Guru had yet to forgive himself, K repeated her last sentiment, and went even further, bringing her arms around the Reppamon in a hug.
A hug, that brought them face to face, Reppamon's mask staring right back into the Renamon's eyes. "... Glad I'm safe?" He seemed a tad confused at her sentiment, distance drawn between them as the Reppamon stood on his own four feet. Just what did she mean, what he had done was terrible! He stole her past life away, and yet she was still taking it so calmly?
"Tch!" He shook his head, finally looking right back to the Renamon. "I've spent my whole life looking into the consciousness and problems of others, to try and lead them back. To help them with difficult decisions, or even to show them how the rest of the world sees them. I'd always believed in that. But to see myself twisted into that terrible beast?"
He shook his head - his words and thoughts didn't exactly come forth too clearly.
"If its so easy to be made to do something horrible... then what am I even doing, K?" Was his entire practice pointless? This was a rare sight - Guru actually sounded upset!

At him repeating those words along with that audible confusion within them made K sigh. She'd quietly shift and stare up at the reppamon. She knew this bothered him, she knew that he would still be trying to piece things together. How long had he been suffering like this? She didn't know.
But she simple remained quiet as he spoke flicking an ear. He had indeed helped a lot of people hadn't he? Especially in a place like that and she harbored no doubts that he did the same with the rest. Being an individual that always helped others... acting in such a way even under the control of whatever the D-reaper was hurt. It hurt a lot and the renamon could see that.
The renamon considered his last question and rubbed her muzzle thoughtfully stepping back away from the reppamon. Her hands came together and she'd stare at him with a curious expression.
"And you've made a difference In all those lives you helped. Being twisted into that beast and made to do something horrible? It's always easier to do something bad. Even easier to simply push it to one side and pretend it didn't happen. Right now you're struggling for your own answers, what you want to do and where you want to go. Do you want to help people still? Still make a difference in the few lives you can?"
There was a pause and she'd sigh again looking down at her hands as they turned upwards. How was she supposed to connect and relate the two of that experience with this one? She couldn't say that she ever killed a friend like that but if.. that had continued on she would of killed more than that. She'd clench her paws and shake her head slowly.
"You helped me see what I could be, see what I wanted to be. You helped me move forward not once, not twice. But three times."
The renamon turned slightly to look off into the distance with a small frown. She'd take a few moments to walk over to the edge and simple sit on it staring quietly away from everything here.
"That death of mine, that was the kingpin that pushed me even further beyond what I was capable of. Gave me the true ability to protect those in need. Gave me forms that I couldn't even fathom at the time. Jesmon. Examon. Gracenovamon. OmegaShutmon. But it wasn't you that did that. It was that beast that you couldn't hold back. I don't think anyone could of.
Another distinct pause and she'd sigh.
"You're suffering guru. That's what you're doing. Questioning everything because of single moment that you had no control of. You've come up here, locked yourself away in a sense to try to understand things and finding no answer... Because the answers aren't up on a mountain, or in the Dark area. Or within yourself. They're with the people out there. The people you've helped, the people you will help, the people you'll try to help, and the people that you saved. Saved from themselves."

... Damn it, why was she taking this so easily?
The Reppamon hated the way he was thinking right now, but he couldn't help it. Of course K had a point: surely he had done good by helping the few who sought him out to reflect on themselves. But that was just it: when a simple mark, a dark ring, or an infection could so easily twist back their hearts, it more-or-less made a mockery of his work.
Did he deserve this position, if he was that weak? The Reppamon considered that thought, as K continued to speak. About how even meeting her end at his fangs, that she was still saved. "... As if that was my doing..." He shook his head, just before K would give her last point:
The answers weren't here. Yes, he was suffering, and yes, he had come up here to reflect. But all he found in the end was his own despair, his regret, his loneliness. For K, the outsider looking in, that simply meant that his purpose was elsewhere. "All I've known is solitude, K." After a few moments, he gave his response: "Whether through the church or my travels, my effort was spent to commune with the divine. If I were to just go back..."
Then he'd still not find the answer? Hearing that tone in the conversation, Guru would hear a different voice: "Are you really just prepared to give up, before you've even tried?"
At some point, with these two engrossed in their conversation, Denryu had managed to slip closer. In fact, he was sitting calmly on a rock, chin rested on his palm as he idly listened to the conversation. "I'm not going to pretend I know everything here." In fact, he knew very little, but he continued: "But if you want to bring yourself to those 'others' you can help, there is another way." He tapped the Xros Loader as he spoke, his expression level as he made his offer.
"... Is he with you, K?"

K sighed softly, she wasn't getting through to him. He was wallowing in that self pity in a sense. She didn't know what else she could really say to him. All he had ever known was solitude? That he had only ever made those efforts because he desired time to commune with the Divine. IF he was to go back he'd continue his efforst, push forward and... find what exactly?
But she didn't know what to say to him, she turned her head to look at him. Mulling, formulating a response she would spoken but... Denryu had come closer. Speaking to Guru. He had a point there among other things. Her brow furrowed slightly and she'd flick her ear.
"We ran into one another on the way up the mountainside."
She'd shake her head a little bit and look forward flicking her ears back with a thoughtful scowl. Honestly she knew so little about the two that could she really even trust them? Well... they were the ones that had protected that village while the rest of them had gone after the hunter so... no point in really questioning that now.
"I understand where you're coming from Guru but... he's right. Giving up isn't the answer. Whether it's to your church, with him, or some other venture? You'll have my support as a friend. And no doubt you'll have the same support from my husband."
Honestly there was far worse things she could say, far worse was she could take this. It was a frustrating assortment of circumstances that led to this and she wasn't even prepared for half of them. How could she of been? What felt like a long time ago she struggle with the same questions and found different answers than Guru would.
