|Western Shibuya |Human World
The wind caressed Yahiko's dichromatic brown mane as he stalked into the Alley in Western Shibuya, a half-consumed packet of biscuits in his hand that he had picked up from a local tuck shop on the way to put his tormented stomach at ease.
This alley...
He had been here over six years ago, when he had almost been killed by a chunk of falling concrete breaking off from the building above him, one of the two that formed the alley. He would have been quite dead, had it not been for that dark silhouette, that butterfly-winged creature that had carried him to safety and then disappeared before he could even get a proper glance at it.
His mind belied that the event had ever occurred, yet his heart knew it was more than an hallucination. Ever since he moved back to Shibuya a week ago, he had felt a sort of... calling, towards this place. He had tried to ignore it, of course, because it was all quite irrational, yet...
Here he was, walking into an alley in Western Shibuya for no particular reason.
"Hnn," Yahiko grunted, realising, after a few minutes of standing there pointlessly, that this was all redundant.
Yet, as soon as he turned around and began to walk back out from whence he came, he heard a strange... beeping... sound?
"What, now?" the chocolate-eyed boy mumbled to himself, turning around back again, tracing the location of the beeping sound with gentle steps, knowing he was getting close by its increasing volume.
Yahiko stopped at a dumpster, where the sound was the loudest. "Probably just a toy," he mused, but before he could leave again, his eyes fell at his feet where, poking out from beneath the dumpster was a small, black, pager-like device. Blinking, the boy crouched down to pick it up.
"A pager? I haven't seen one of these since Da--"
The display screen on the device suddenly began glowing a brilliant purplish black, and then Yahiko felt a falling sensation and he yelled before a flash of blinding light overtook his vision.
|Server Woods |Digital World
"Ugh...!" Yahiko groaned before he blinked his eyes open and sat up on the leaf-littered forest floor, rubbing his eyes as they adjusted to the lighting.
Wait, forest floor?!
"Wha...?!" Yahiko gasped as he got onto his feet immediately, looking around and seeing himself surrounded by a forest of tall, dark, brown and green-topped trees, the sunlight being minimal in this part of Server Woods.
"W-Where am I? I was just in Shibuya!" Yahiko looked around, confused and apprehensive.

Zerimon was starving.
She was also still aching because of her encounter with the mad Greymon weeks ago, but the baby Digimon had toughened up considerably since then. Still, she was no Leomon when it came to hunting and no Birdramon when it came to scavenging. She could not even remember the last time she had had something to eat, and she was so famished now that it actually hurt.
Still, she hopped onward, finding herself in a strange land quite unlike the place where she had hatched. It had tall, dark, brown and green-topped trees - she had only learned what trees were days ago by listening to a few Digimon referring to them as such (from a far enough distance; there was no way she was going near another Digimon again). In any case, it was a dark place due to the very little sunlight here, and although Zerimon found the lack of heat and the cool, forested breeze much more comfortable than anything else during her previous journeys, she couldn't really enjoy any of it because she was so hungry.
She was also alone...
"Maybe... I'm just meant to be alone..." she mumbled to herself, though she ended up scaring herself rather than reassuring herself. Was she meant to be alone her whole life? She didn't know if she could bear this, this pain of loneliness, forever. Tears began to well up in her eyes, the twin pangs of hunger and of loneliness both finally consuming her as she began to whimper pitifully.

When it came to lighting, Wakako ironically for being a Spirit Wielder of Light... well, she liked dark places. There was something nice and cozy about just being curled up with a flashlight in the wilderness with a couple of good books. Honestly, that was one good thing about the Digital World; it was practically all wilderness. Sure you had to adapt to that it wasn't exactly always the nicest place at times, but you really did get used to it with time.
The young girl was up in the branches of one of the many trees that covered the forest floor and shrouded its inhabitants... of course, she was substituting a flashlight with a more natural (or well, unnatural depending on your point of view) source of light... a ruby crystal that grew from her wrist. Wakako was currently spending some leisurely time in her Chromiamon form, the lapine-like Digimon eagerly reading a Digimoji-translated version of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy with a knapsack of other books by her side.
It was very fortunate that there were at least some Digimon that were interested enough in human works of literature, which made it much easier to indulge in said hobby without relying on someone else to go back to the human world to get some books for her. She might have been stuck here... but she had not completely forgotten her roots.
Had Yahiko not spoke his call of confusion, Wakako would have probably not even noticed his presence... The Spirit Wielder's ears twitched as her attention managed to be drawn away from her book, a look of surprise forming on her face. She couldn't hear the voice clearly, but it did sound like someone was in distress... Enough to at least warrant her to put away her belongings and jump down to the ground... hearing briefly some whimpering down below.
It took her a moment to realize something small and green was on the ground below, the Chromiamon managing to adjust her landing position to avoid stepping on the small Fresh level as she landed gracefully nearby. "S-Sorry there! I-I didn't see you there!" Wakako swiftly apologized to the small Zerimon, a look of shock realizing that this was only a little baby Digimon... What was something so small doing here in woods like this? That other voice was still on the back of her mind, but she would have felt awful if just left the poor thing alone. "Are you okay...? You're not hurt, are you?"

Mae thought that the darkness of the forest was a comforting kind of shroud. One that could conceal the Meicoomon better than the cloak she wore. She was munching on a snack and keeping an eye on Wakako. It was probably the least she could do for the human she basically called family at this point.
She had been drifting off into...not daydreaming, but contemplation when something had happened. Wakako wasn't where she was, and she heard her down below, so Mae hopped down to find the human-turned-Chromiamon with a Zerimon.
A kid...? Alone here? "...Oh dear..." The cat murmured. She had also heard someone else. The Meicoomon turned about and called out, "...Is anyone else there?"

Yahiko blinked. Repeatedly. Until he was calm enough to think straight. So, he had just teleported from a random alley in Shibuya, into a dark forest littered with tree leaves. What was the meaning of this? Was he dead? Was he dreaming? Was he in Narnia? Was a ninja? Did he have Instant Transmission? Was he a superhero with the power to teleport across the planet or vibe between dimensions?
While silently brooding over this entire thought process, Yahiko then he heard a scream.
"AAH!"
Okay, now that was creepy. That was followed by a voice.
"...Is anyone else there?"
Yahiko turned around to face the direction the voice came from, seeing a thick foliage behind him. The voice came from the other side of the trees.
Yahiko was instantly on alert. They could be nice friendly people willing to help him discover the nature of his... flabbergasting experience. Or, they could be evil Wild West-style raiders ready to lure him in and strip him of all his belongings.
Not that he had much on him anyways, just that pack of biscuits that was still in his hand.
Placing the biscuits inside his coat pocket, Yahiko began to silently creep towards the tree-line. Perhaps not silent enough to fool a cat's acute hearing, but still silent enough for a human. He stalked over to the trees, climbing up one of them halfway up before peering through the leaves to see, on the other side...
Three talking animals. One of them running straight towards him.
"W-Wha...!"
Hairy zit. Narnia was real.
And he had shouted. And that... horned... green... thing was heading straight towards him. It didn't look that dangerous though, more like a gumball with eyes...
... Well then. Best option he had now was to hope he ended up meeting Mister Tumnus instead of the White Witch. Though with the scream earlier he was rather doubtful of that.
"S-Sorry there! I-I didn't see you there!"
"AAH!" Zerimon screamed as the Chromiamon almost landed right on top her. Her experience with the crazy Greymon earlier who had severely injured - almost killed - her with its huge tail-swipe had left her not trusting of higher-levelled Digimon.
So when she saw the Chromiamon, she was very frightened. The Chromiamon was nearly instantaneously joined by a Meicoomon and Zerimon, trembling, tried to hop her way at top speed away from them both. Her top speed was, decidedly, not very fast.
Unbeknown to her, she was going straight in Yahiko's direction.
"W-Wha...!"
Zerimon's eyes widened as she saw Yahiko's shadow through the foliage. But it was too late, she had already jumped, trying to get away from the two Digimon behind her.
"AAH!" she screamed again but there was no use. Yahiko acted on reflex, catching the jumping Digimon in his arms like a ball.
Zerimon stared at Yahiko with widened, frightened eyes.
Yahiko stared at Zerimon with a confused, and a rather dazed expression.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Yahiko let go her, scared, and Zerimon dropped down onto the ground with an audible bump. She felt hurt, and reflexively teared up, beginning to sob. She was hungry, sad, alone, and now she couldn't get away from these mean Digimon and now she was hurt! She began to sob profusely, while Yahiko just stared at her, and the two larger Digimon behind her, having no clue what was going on here.

It was a tad awkward having her attention drawn by two sources, but thankfully Mae seemed to catch on that she was a bit occupied now with the Fresh level that she had almost stepped on. Unfortunately for her, she might have left a bad impression on the tiny green bean... they bouncing away at a surprisingly fast speed for something with no legs. "D-Did I say something wrong?" Wakako for a moment called out, caught offguard by the sudden freakout...
The Zerimon seemed to dive into a bush, followed by two panicked screams (that frankly hurt Wakako's sensitive ears), a look of surprise on the Spirit Wielder's face as she gave Mae an awkward glance... before taking a few steps forward and pulling away some of the brush, coming face to face with Yahiko and the terrified Fresh level that was practically bawling by him.
Another human...? He must have gotten lost or something... Was he a Spirit Wielder too? She didn't see any Digimon that really looked like they'd be a partner around them, but then again you never knew when someone else is just lurking around. Regardless, the gem-studded rabbit mostly just had a look of confusion as she meekly blinked. "Are... Are you two okay? We didn't mean to scare either of you." she spoke, softly sighing as she glanced at the Zerimon... bending down and softly placing her finger over their mouth. "Shhh... Its okay. Theres nothing to cry about." she whispered before glancing over to Mae, motioning her closer.

[Server woods]
The campfire crackled in the clearing as the man nearby kept a close eye on it, adding a couple of sticks where needed. He'd been worried when he first arrived back in the digital world after such a long time away, but it seemed like both Belph and Leo had been much healthier since coming back. After the old school groups had been wiped out a while back, he'd lain low, staying off the radar, much to his digimon's detriment, but he didn't want to risk them being attacked for the sheer sake of association.
Leo, one half of his twins and currently in his elecmon form, was currently perched on a branch nearby, ears twitching as he listened out for anything that might be an issue nearby. Belph, a bearmon, and far less confident than his brother, was gathering firewood from the forest floor, staying close to the camp as he waddled around with a small backpack on.
"Belph? Can you grab the food pack? I think we're about ready to start cooking." The man called out, stoking the fire and setting a pan on top, careful to keep it level as the young bearmon quickly hurried over, leaving the bundle of firewood next to the bag, rummaging through and pulling out some packets from inside, his claws long, but nimble, as if he'd practiced doing this before. "Well, we have hotdogs, several packs of ramen, and some meat we bought from the last town we passed through. Which do you want?"
Leo just rolled his eyes, going back to listening to the nearby woods. One of those who took to guarding well, he usually felt it his duty to make sure people would be looked after, so he wasn't about to let anyone get the jump on him. Though from the sounds of things, they had some visitors nearby. He knew Josh wasn't going to turn away people in need, and it sounded like the nearby group cold do with a bit of a hand. Though....that meat Josh was cooking smelled nice. Urgh. He'd just hurry.
"Sounds like we have some newbies nearby. I'll see if they need any help." The red digimon called down, scaling the tree with ease as the tamer nodded, starting to cook a few extra portions of meat to be safe.
[Server woods, Meeting spot]
It didn't take Leo long to find the group, and he watched for a moment as they panicked and tried to introduce themselves at the same time. He sighed before calling down from his perch in the tree branch. "You guys might want to quiet down before you end up attracting something bigger than we can take on. Rather than freaking out, how about coming back to my tamer's campsite and getting some food so we can get you all introduced?"

"I don't...think you did anything wrong?" Mae noted towards Wakako, seeming just as confused at the Zerimon's plight. "Maybe she's just scared." The shrouded Meicoomon shrugged before she decided to follow Zerimon towards Yahiko. As the little gummy was not quite fast?
Mae herself didn't need to go that fast either. Hell, she was just walking. She paused at the sight of the digimon-human collision and decided to stay back until Wakako motioned her closer. "...Oh dear, um...I can go find something like a bandaid if it hurts." The cat mumbled. She wasn't sure what to do here that wouldn't scare the others.
She glanced up to Leo. Butting in like that, to her, was probably a little bit rude. "My family told me not to accept offers from strangers." The way she said that was distinctively more monotonous than how she usually sounded. Anyways, she looked to Yahiko and Zerimon, trying to assess their condition aside from BUMPED INTO and the like.

Yahiko instantly felt bad at having caused the little gumball pain by dropping it. Of course, this was all a strange situation as it was, what with the talking cats and chrome rabbits, but Yahiko didn't mean to hurt anyone. Crouching down, Yahiko placed a hand on the the spot where a small swelling was visible by Zerimon's horn, the area she had fallen on and was injured.
"Hey, cheer up, Sorrows. No need to cry," Yahiko said, giving the little girl a nickname without thinking too much about it. "I'm sorry I hurt you, here," he pulled out the packet of biscuits he had been munching on earlier from his coat pocket and offered them to the little Digimon.
Zerimon initially flinched at Yahiko's touch, but then felt it comforting, and leaned in somewhat unintentionally. The same when Chromiamon crouched down and sshhed her. She had never felt anything like this before: it was warm... happy. She felt... loved. This was so strange! Zerimon's only experience with larger Digimon had been a Greymon she had encountered and it had attacked her! To feel such gentleness coming from two really big creatures like Yahiko and Chromiamon was unheard of, but Zerimon found that she liked the feeling.
"You're... nice!" she said to both Chromiamon and Yahiko collectively.
Then someone new showed up, and the baby Zerimon moved instinctively, hopping behind Yahiko and Chromiamon to hide. Yahiko stood up to stare at the small dark orange rabbit that had showed up even as Meicoomon confronted him and voiced her mistrust of him openly.
"Okay, time-out," Yahiko made the 'time-out' symbol with his hands, one horizontal palm over a vertical one. "Where am I? Who are you?" he said, pointing at Elecmon. "And why are cats talking, rabbits talking back, and gumballs crying?"

Wakako was honestly thankful that she and this human were able to calm down this little baby Digimon... Frankly, all she knew about handling with babies was just from osmosis watching people like Mr. Mikemon at the Great Moving Library. Fortunately, she was a fairly patient girl; the Chromiamon smiling at the Zerimon's attitude perking up as the small creature nibbled on the biscuits. "I'm sorry for scaring you too. Everything must be so scary because you are small... though I am sure once that won't last long." Wakako gently assured the Fresh level, gently petting her.
It did appear they drew a small amount of attention to themselves... though fortunately the new intruder was just it seemed a fairly friendly-looking Elecmon who just was merely inviting them to their tamer's camp. Mae was definitely just being her usual anti-social self, though Wakako was happy to be least there to give her adoptive big sis a lil' nudge. "Hey... No need to be shy, Mae. They are probably just trying to be nice, right?"
Now this was fine and all, but the brown-haired guy was asking a lot of questions that to someone whose been kinda suck in the Digital World now for almost a quarter of her life seemed obvious. "Ehh? This is the Server Woods. I mean, you probably should least know that before going around alone." she spoke, tilting.her head in confusion... it taking a moment for the Spirit Wielder to recognize what was off here. Her eyes seemed to dilate slightly, her expression changing to a more solemn look. "No... Wait; you aren't from around here, are you? You're from the human world." she asked, a somewhat uncomfortable look on her face.
It was still a sore spot for Wakako that she could not return home... even after all this time and growing more accepting of her new role in this world, she still longed to perhaps see her home one more time. Nonetheless, this changed everything... This guy was new to the Digital World, so it made sense he was asking all these questions... She just wasn't sure she could answer them all alone. Nonetheless, she stood back up while gently readjusting the bag slung around her shoulders before facing Yahiko directly. "Okay... I now get where you are coming from. I promise though, we'll give you the rundown on whats going on mister." she assured the young man before walking towards Mae's side, gently grabbing the small cat's hand.

Elecmon didn't seem too worried about the freak-outs either, glad at least one of the others had realised the kid was brand new here. I mean, school clothes in the digital world? Totally newbie gear. "No biggie. Humans seem to panic a lot the first time here." He'd say, shrugging oddly from his tree branch. "Name's Leo, and I'm an elecmon, a type of digimon." He explained calmly, before sniffing the air, the smell of cooking meat reaching his nose from the camp nearby.
"You guys usually get dragged here after touching something electronic. Keep hold of that cause it'll be pretty important. But don't worry, there's always a way back home." He'd say, hopping down onto the forest floor and stretching out, rather cat like before standing on his hind legs. He held out a paw towards the meicoomon. "I wasn't attempting to be rude. I heard someone in trouble and came to offer help." He said with a gentle smile. "We have some medicine back at camp if the lil one needs it, but I certainly won't try force anyone to come along. Its only an offer after all." He said, stepping back. "I'm heading back to camp, but you guys are welcome to join me there if you want." The elecmon explained, turning towards a gap in the bush. "If not....well, I wish you guys luck." The red and purple digimon said cheerfully, making his way through the brush.
It didn't take long before Leo arrived back at the camp, the rookie digimon resting on a branch and peering expectantly down into the pan josh was in the process of cooking with. "Its still got some time yet you greedy guts. Just keep an eye out for any trouble." The brown haired man said, noting Leo's arrival.

"I'd be a little nicer if I weren't plainly being underestimated." Mae mumbled in response to Wakako. Everyone else seemed to have handled what was going to be an incredibly awkward explanation coming from her about what this world--the world she had been born into, no less, was.
That being said, Mae seemed to calm down a little more when the carbuncle grabbed her hand. It was like a human being tended to by a stress animal. Except it was...in reverse. "I mean, I guess we could go over there and see if we can't figure out what these guys' deal happens to be..."
The cat was still apprehensive, yet amenable to this course of action.
