Wakako had grown complacent in the Digital World... How long has she even been here? It was hard to tell exactly as the days and nights ticked onward, especially in regards to the human world that she had longed coveted. Her hopes for perhaps the chance to return even just once had practically disappeared, but a slight glimmer of hope offered new light for the girl that maybe she could change that fate.
After a long time, she had finally got a reading on another spirit.
In her Chromiamon form, the girl steadily gripped the hardened stone of the mountainous base of the Megiddoan volcanoes... her claws digging into the solid stone as she struggled to keep climbing... Her keen scent and the feeling of a harmonious force buried deep within this structure being all that she had to guide her.
Soon, she managed to climb to a plateau engraved in the side of the volcano... and sure enough, a passageway carved into the landmark itself greeted her. She silently cursed that the damn thing wouldn't be easy to get, but neither was Villiaummon. The carbuncle gritted her teeth as she shook her head... before plunging deep into the abyss.
This was no mere cave system though... The Spirit Wielder could tell just from the way granite walls were formed in the cavern that this was something mon-made. The question is, for what?

This cave did seem monmade indeed! As Wakako proceeded further, she'd find that the cave was actually rather cozy. There were red crystals dimly lighting a way further into this abyss, jewels of both red and orange giving the path ahead a warm allure. But not all was well in this almost-labyrinth. A feral screech could be heard. One belonging to a dragon, it sounded.
But it was not the scream of one that craved combat. No, it was fear. What could scare a dragon? Another, more furious noise joined it soon afterwards, and a rumble was heard. What was going on?
The feeling of harmony pulsed from further within, too. Waka was going to need to proceed further inwards to find her spirit, and the source of these noises.

Despite how hostile the environment in a way was, it felt like a warm hearth if anything... The Digital World never ceased to amaze her with its beauty, and this place truly was no exception. It was in a way more beautiful than Earth, much of it untarnished by others... Such beauty reminded her though of a similar locale in the Northern Prominence where she initially unlocked her talent, but she had to fight for her life to do so.
This place it seemed was no exception... A horrific rancor coursed through the cavern, enough to cause the carbuncle to flinch in fear. Her Digicore raced with tension, her legs briefly growing wobbly realizing that even as far as she had came... she was still terrified of losing her life.
Did she really have a choice though? This was the first Spirit in a YEAR to appear, and who knew if she'd have another oppurtunity like this again? She was terrified, but a presence within her though grew excited... A part of her didn't just want to keep going, it NEEDED to keep going. It wanted to face what horrid challenges were in her path; the feeling of desiring to conquer and dominate flooding her... a not very pleasant feeling at that.
"... You'll come out when I say you need to come out." the girl spoke to herself in a disgruntled manner, shaking her head to clear her thoughts before continuing.
There was no turning back now.

As Wakako went deeper...She would start hearing voices. Voices that belong to Digimon. Nothing like her spirits were (probably,) but from the cavern. It seemed that the scuffle was growing closer with every step. Before long, the girl would find herself greeted with a wide-open room that had several entrances--as well as exits. A sort of center to this system of tunnels. It was also like that room back in the Prominence. Imagine that? Though, not quite. The jewels that littered the tunnel were still here, though far more scattered. And high up. It...didn't give much lighting to the room now. What was once a hearth? Now seemed rather dim... The voices--No, a singular voice grew louder and louder until it was revealed to belong to a child. Wait...A child? What was the roar earlier from? The observant could see this running in from one of the tunnels to the center. The dragon seemed distressed. Scared. Crying.

It was clear that unlike last time, she was not alone down here... Not exactly reassuring for the girl as the inevitability of battle only seemed to become more and more obvious as she drew closer. Sure enough though, her patience would be rewarded with a sight that was breathtaking, but also enshrouded the area in darkness.
And the abyss called back.
Fortunately, nothing in the room it appeared... but was this really the right place? Wakako didn't have much time to ponder if she was where she needed to be before that awful sound from before drew nearer. The carbuncle digging her feet into the ground as she prepared for combat... only to drop her guard to see a small dragon-like Digimon that appeared made of stone and molten crystals run in... quite terrified it appeared.
Instinctually, Wakako was quick to grow sympathetic... That awful crying reminded her of herself too much. She was hesitant to initially approach the scared creature, but sure enough she did. "... Are... Are you okay?" she gently asked the creature, for a moment pulling out her D-Tector to scan them... confirming her suspicions this was just a kid.
Not exactly a ruins guardian, was it?

Terror had all but dominated every one of the Vorvomon's actions up to this point, but he wasn't expecting someone new to these caverns here. Not to mention someone he hadn't seen before too. The child was definitely not okay, no. "T-There's something o-over there a-and it's d-doing bad stuff!"
No, he had to actually explain that. "I-It killed my mom! I-It's killing my dad!" The child was all but sobbing at this point. What...What had he seen to elicit such a reaction?
There was barely any time to process this when another roar, much closer, sounded off. As well as an explosion! But the same rumble could be felt. What was going on? The keen-eared could also make out...gunshots? A multitude of them. The child shrieked and ran past Wakako, hiding behind her.
What did she do?

Something was wrong with the overall atmosphere. The way the mood had shifted... Wakako's face turned pale seeing the sheer terror on this poor, innocent creature as they managed to weakly sob, she regretting heavily for invoking such emotion.
*What sadistic bastard would do this to a kid? She didn't have much time to comprehend the weight of this as the deafening sound of gunfire was able to be heard, the Vorvomon hiding behind her in fear.
A bitter, tranquil rage brewed in her. She was originally only here for the spirit... but what kind of monster would do something like this? There really was no time to dawdle... The Chromiamon turned to the sobbing creature, gently resting a claw on their warm body as she bent down to be eye-level with them. "I want you to stay here... I'm going to try and stop it. If neither I or your dad comes back, please... Run. Run away and keep living." she gently assured them... before soon enough dashing ahead to where that awful commotion was.
All she could hope was she wasn't too late... but if this thing could handle one parent, who was there to argue it couldn't a second?

As the Spirit Wielder resolved to help the Vorvomon, and ran to the scene, the child was left there to weakly sob as she said to. But...Something else happened. The gunfire soon died down. A quick jog through one of the tunnels would lead Wakako to a scene that most Digimon would call pretty gruesome. The room was entirely dark. There was only really one source of light, and that was dim. Very dim. Cruelly so. It was as though the source was at the brink of death. Which it truly was. A Volcdramon. To see such a thing on the brink of death, it's fire all but put out was surprising to say the least. All it revealed was that the room was a shrine of sorts. A shrine with a bright white stone embedded within it. Volcdramon weakly lifted it's head to see the Chromiamon. It could only rumble out one word. "...Leave." As the other occupant of the room was still here. The one that did this to it. A pair of eyes opened and glared right at the Chromiamon. Down from the ceiling. "Prey to the web. Not the child. Morsel. Nonetheless."
Wakako could feel her spirit close by. That which she was searching for...

She hated having to leave this poor creature like this... but if there was a life on the line, she couldn't be idle. This was now no longer just a mission for a spirit... this was her wanting to do the right thing, and if involved avenging a dead parent... she would try her best.
Finally, she managed to reach what appeared to be the dead-end... and a horrible sight greeted her as she witnessed the heavily wounded form of a dragon Digimon that once might have been a burning pillar of destruction... now a smoldering and dying beast, unable to do anything but offer a single last warning.
The Champion level could not respond... only offer a pleading look before her attention was drawn to the perpetrator of this massacre. The girl's eyes shrunk to pricks as she gazed at a disturbing mess of wires that took on the shape of a spider, its emerald-eyes gazing at her with an alien and hungry look.
Bile and anger welled up in her, the Infermon's taunt not going unnoticed. "I am NOT a morsel!" the girl countered, stamping her crystalline foot into the ground as she gazed up... wrapping herself in data as she Digivolved.
The resulting form had a humanoid torso, but this was a mockery of what qualified as a human. With black schlera and a multi-fanged mouth, the naga-like Villiaummon snarled at the Infermon with a look of rage. "Try and get a taste out of me, monster!" the gorgon yelled a roar of revenge, her long and heavy body coiling aggressively.
Wakako has Spirit Evolved into her Beast hybrid, Villiaummon.

The Infermon let out a few clicks as she seemed to have...struck a nerve. Eyes narrowed. "An invitation. Curious." She clicked, her wire neck (and subsequently her face) twisting around before her mouth opened to reveal...
A gattling gun. Several tendrils--green tendrils, at that, burst from her back and contorted into similar apparatuses. All aimed down at the smoldering husk and the now-evolved Villiaummon. A snake wasn't immune to bullets, was it? Nor was it immune to...Fire.
The Infermon's colors swiftly changed to black and orange, as it spoke. "Spider Shooter. Goodbye!" The goodbye was monotonous in nature. That was but the prelude to what happened next. Infermon opened fire, pellets of flame being set loose from the gattling guns as they spun, and threatening to riddle and burn Wakako's form if she remained there without doing anything.
Infermon's passive, Adaptation Transmogrification activates. It switches it's element to the only one available right now. Fire.
It also attacks Villaummon with:
Spider Shooter: Infermon opens it’s mouth, as tendrils break forth from it's shell and warp into the shape of gattling guns, before it releases a deadly stream of bullets that can punch through digizoid.

Struck a nerve? Yeah, Infermon struck a nerve. That Vorvomon reminded her of herself too much, and while the circumstances were different... they had one thing in common. Both lost parents. She honestly did not care if she was letting the spirit's aggression take over... She wanted to get revenge for that poor kid back there!
The Ultimate level snarled recognizng that an incoming attack was going to be heading her way shortly as the fiendish spider shifted color before rounds of infernal flame shots froms from it! The snake woman let her pragmatism take over she slid across the ground and did something that honestly make the spirit wielder's stomach twist.
She heaved up the Volcdramon's form to use as a human shield. It was not exactly something she liked doing, but Volcdramon was more likely to be able sustain the literal gunfire purely from his elemental affinity, even in as horrid of a shape as he was. "... I'm sorry." the spirit wielder mumbled sorrowfully, though she was unsure if the dying father of that Vorvomon would hear it.
All the more reason to end this spider's life. As soon as the initial assault was over, the gorgon slid back into view as her hair seemed to animate... revealing multiple eyes as her the gems on her form glew. "I'll destroy you! Death Dazzle!" Villiaummon yelled before firing a barrage of laser shots from those eyes... hopefully able to knock the fiend down.
Wakako has used Volcdramon as a shield against Spider Shooter, launching a barrage of Death Dazzle afterwards at Infermon.
Death Dazzle - Villiaummon's eye-tendrils gaze upon the foe, launching a quad-series of red lasers. Foes damaged by this attack will have up to two of their limbs calcified into crystal for two turns (prioritizing a leg and arm unless unapplicable), rendering them completely unusable. (Cooldown: 2 Turns)

The sound of her gunfire was a beautiful chorus to the Infermon. Fire danced through the room and something made contact with -something-, though she was not quite expecting the little Carbuncle turned reptile to have used the dying Volcdramon as a shield, his affinity indeed being capable of sustaining the fire.
Rest assured, little one. He did hear you.
The assault had ended, and the sound of the Infermon chittering across the ceiling could be heard. "You will try. Success...Not guaranteed. Fight." It replied, lazily, before she found herself unable to avoid one of the lasers. Two of her limbs had been calcified as a result, hardening into narrow strands of crystal.
Though...As she plummeted...
She had a card up her sleeve for this. Upon hitting the ground, the Infermon raised her head and the mess of tendrils returned, though this time, they released a fusillade of bright green energy balls. Balls that seemed to hang in the air soon after firing, meaning Wakako would have to be careful with her approach, if she did decide to do that.
Infermon was hit by Death Dazzle! As two of her limbs are crystal, now, she can't quite hold onto the ceiling all that well.
Infermon used:
Particle Cannon: A fusillade of energy balls that seem to explode upon contact with…anything, really! These can be left hanging as a deterrent for foes, or fired directly at an enemy to give them one hell of a bullet hell puzzle. Two turn cooldown.
Cooldowns: Particle Cannon: 0/2

The serpentess was not having any of the Infermon's ego-inflated taunts... They were mocking her! Mocking the lives they had stolen so maliciously! The Villiaummon gripped her sharp-clawed left hand in anger, cautiously watching as the spider seemed to underestimate her... plummeting to the ground with a deafening thud... though not before heavily complicating any chance at approaching the spider.
Damn thing was not making it easy to get close, was it? The spirit wielder was internally cussing like a sailor, being denied the chance to get close angering her. She was not going to let this dissuade her though... If that damn spider wanted to keep her away so badly, they were going to need to start running!
All she could hope was having one third of their legs gone would make that task a bit tricker...
The lamia's monstrous mouth boiled with a noxious toxin in her mouth before rearing back... "Serpent Smog! she screeched before blowing a toxic mist in a cone, the cloud spreading forward. It wasn't exactly much of a projectile, but a keen eye would catch the ground that in contact with it crystallizing... More reason to want to get the hell away from it.
Wakako chose to keep her distance, instead spraying forth her Serpent Smog towards Infermon. Her Gorgon Heart passive is also taking effect.
[PASSIVE] Gorgon Heart - Turns out having your body turned into toxic crystals is generally not healthy in the grand scheme of things. Foes caught in Villiaummon's movement-hampering abilities or that make direct contact with her take residual damage from exposure to Villiaummon's crystals or being afflicted by her attacks' effects. VIlliaummon can shut off this ability when need be.
Serpent Smog - Villiaummon attacks by spraying out a toxic mist in a wide area that crystallizes anything it touches. Foes caught in the mist will take poison damage over two turns, their speed reduced moderately during this time. (Cooldown: 3 Turns)
Cooldowns: Death Dazzle: Waiting Serpent Smog: Waiting

Infermon's taunts were not simply driven by ego. They were fact. She had to act, however. She had to act swiftly. Distance was her ally in this battle, and she had ensured that she would retain it. So, though she was a little bit crippled in terms of mobility, Infermon would skitter away from the mist. Perhaps...
Perhaps she could keep it at bay, too. With smog of her own. Yes, that'd let her get back up on the ceiling a little faster... "Virus Skater." The Infermon hissed as her tendrils let loose a cloud/stream of gas. If that would hold back the smog? Good! If not? Well, her fleeing would not be getting faster anytime soon.
So she had to keep running.
INFERMON LEGS IT TO GET AWAY FROM THAT GAS. She also uses:
Virus Skater: Tendrils erupt from allover Infermon as they release a stream of gas that seems to shock whatever comes into contact with it, something that makes inhaling it quite…undesirable. In fact, inhaling it causes you to be immobilized for a turn! Three turn cooldown.
Cooldowns: Particle Cannon: 1/2

The snake growled in anger, seeing the damn spider so easily get out of the range of attack only intensifying her anger. That arachnid was toying with her... and she was not having any of it! As soon as the Particle Cannon shots dissipated, the Villiaummon wasted little time trying to slither at the Ultimate level with malice in her eyes.
Definitely a mistake.
Wakako didn't even get the chance to realize what happened as she found herself choking on a noxious gas that caused her muscles to lock up. The Beast hybrid struggled to keep herself more or less upright as she came to a pause, unable to keep going. All she could see was that arthropod skulking in the darkness, she bearing her fangs.
"Y-You AREN'T getting away from me!" she managed to screech despite the gas's effects... her eyes gleaming ominously. The crystallized limbs that Infermon had would suddenly begin to reinvigorate in their growth, causing pain as they converted more data into those vile, tumorous minerals. That was sure to slow that spider down...
She wouldn't be satisfied until she cracked it open like a lobster.
Wakako was caught in Virus Skater and immobilized for the the turn. She however is able to use Empress's Glee, causing the crystallized legs on Infermon to grow and deal unavoidable damage.
Empress's Glee - Villiaummon's commands the crystals from any of her abilities growing on targets to grow more rapidly, causing intense pain on those afflicted. Extends the durations of those effects by a turn while inflicting damage. Due to the nature of the attack, it is unavoidable and impossible to defend against... but it only works on those that had been already afflicted by Serpent Smog or Death Dazzle. (Cooldown: 3 Turns)
Effects: Virus Skater: Immobilized this turn!
Cooldowns: Death Dazzle: Waiting Serpent Smog: 2 Turns Empress's Glee: 3 Turns
