"You're damn fuckin' tough!" Ophelia would bark back at Valt with a jovial laugh, grinning widely and with excitement, "But you're super fun to spar with, too! If I'm learning from a digimon like you, I bet I'll get tough like you in no-time, right?" She'd add with that same energy; tail lashing side to side. She could barely even imagine what being a Super Ultimate could be like, but if she were able to get that far... Well, it'd be damn awesome! She was ready to go through however much training and sparring she needed to reach that level, and if Valt got there, then he'd probably be able to help, right?
As far as Ys went though, Ophelia was definitely awed by her surroundings. It was a beautiful city, even if it was still being fixed up - and the notion that one day, it could become something amazing and be filled with other people...?? At the offer to go exploring, Ophelia would perk up and glance to Valt, nodding excitedly, "Yeah! I wanna go check everything out!" She'd chirp happily, hopping off of Ryouta's lap and moving for one of the windows to get a better look at everything.

"Heh, that's good! Sadly not even I can make that sort of magic thing happened overnight, kiddo. If I could then I think this world is damn doomed. Evolution is... not something that you should force. It's also not instantaneous." Valt pulled a whiteboard and took a marker from Ilbert. "Evolution formed by several factors: Training, battle, nutrients, external conditions and the biggest of it all: Health. This is why Ilbert told you about the 'wrong' training method. Getting sick or too defeated because of wrong training can cause you to evolve in undesired way... but just how evolution is determined won't be enough to trigger it...
To trigger it... emotions, danger... and at times personal growth is needed. But usually it revolves around... danger. When you're in fight or die situation, you would usually get triggered to evolve... But not everyone evolve to the form that they want. Part about evolution is no one is the same like the other in how it's triggered. For example for most of the partnered like me, 'danger' is usually the best way to trigger it out of us. But in you case? Hard to say, to be honest."
Still Valt tossed the marker back to Ilbert after putting the cap back on then pat Ophelia on the shoulder.
"But that's why I'm here. I'm a trainer, you can call me your sensei. I'll guide you, to best possibility. Even if it might be not what you want, I will do my best to avoid the outcome where you become a Numemon or Bakemon. Well, not the possibility is there should you train earnestly."
As he said this the train began its slow trek, first from the entrance to the western side of the city... the residential district. The main road is spacious. Ilbert might be huge, but the city road was enough to fit three of him sides by sides with enough leeway.

Ophelia would pause, before quirking her lips a little as Valt began going on about a lecture about how evolution worked. Which... She knew about how it worked, she knew it took time, and she didn't ask how it worked. This wasn't really piquing her interest - in fact, it felt like she was being lectured over a miscommunication. She was mostly joking around and being excited, was all; though she didn't really like that they kept bringing up how she liked to train. If training like this was so bad, then she would've probably become something undesirable by now, right? And her mother wouldn't have taught her like this either if it was bad!
She wouldn't really mention anything though, her expression just becoming maybe a little dour as Valt brought it up.
Instead though, she'd just smile a little as the subject changed and she was pat on the shoulder, and would respond by playfully punching Valt on the shoulder with a giggle, tail swishing. "Sounds good!" She'd respond to Valt mentioning guiding and training her. Though, Bakemon were ghosts, right? ... A small part of her couldn't help but wonder what a ghost Leomon would be like - it sounded kind of cool! Just probably not her thing. Ghosts couldn't swing swords around!
Otherwise though, Ophelia would watch out the window with much curiosity and awe as the buildings of the residential district went by - her mentally mapping down Ys in her head, as they went along. It wouldn't do to get lost out here once she was trekking it on foot, after all! She was still very curious though, and very eager to see just what Ys had in store for her as a whole. "How big is this place?" She'd ask Valt and Ryouta, glancing to them.

"How big is the city? Hmmm, that's a good question," Ryouta pondered the answer a bit before taking out his D-Nexus. The city map is automatically updated to the D-Nexus every single time without fail, automatically, for some reason. He showed Ophelia the 3D view of the city. It's complete with where is Ilbert currently and what's his size. Suprisngly, he's still remotely small compared to the city. It's not a big city for sure, but still, it's sizable enough.
"...Apparently in the olden times, the city is a lot bigger. It was submerged after all... It brings some little question of whether what we see at the moment is the true city of there are actually bigger city somewhere else in this place. We just happened to find it is all. To be honest we have no idea whether we're lucky or something... or if there are some greater power at work, but... here we are."

As Ryouta pulled out his D-Nexus, Ophelia would perk up curiously at the strange device - having not seen it before. Ryouta had some sort of device for maps? That was pretty cool! And the city was decently sized, too! She would gaze to the map with that same awe and intentness, trying to memorize all of the roads and pathways thru the city - as though to not get lost whenever it came time for her to explore Ys on her own! She would be PREPARED! But, all the same, she was curious about the device, too! "What's that..?" She would ask, pointing to the D-Ne
As she listened to Ryouta talk about where the city came from though, she'd hum, tilting her head one way. "Was this city always in a cave? Or did it only end up in here after something happened?" She'd ask curiously, adding "And what happened to all the water out here, that the city was once submerged in?" Though the Lioness never really got any proper education, it seemed that she was raring to learn nonetheless - being filled with questions. "What was the city like when you guys first found it?"

"Oh right, this is something akin to a thing you can use to communicate with friends, get new info, updates, and all that stuff. Normally this is a Digivice, which is a device used by humans that are bonded with Digimons. Both of me and Valt are bonded by this device, and with this device is how Valt evolved. Well we have simplified version for Digimons. Here, you should have one. After all, you're member of the team now. You don't need this to evolve, nor it'll have any sort of applications that are Digimon specific, but... It'll be useful for you."
Hmmm, was the city is always in a cave?
"We believe so. At least there are no indication that the cave is made after the city... but it might be... We just need to improve our research data for it to be accurate... It probably wasn't inside a cave, and the cave was something of a sediment or something...
...As for the water, apparently it become freshwater. There is a... really huge lake that apparently goes as deep as five hundred meters, or probably more under this city. It might lead somewhere, but I wouldn't guess at the moment. It's a bit too risky to traverse at the moment.
Hmmm... how the city first looked? Abandoned of course. The street was riddled with pile of salt, all houses are empty bars some ancient furnitures. No food, no corpses or skeleton or anything like that, empty. We... we're completely stumped as how this happened... but it happened. We looked for places to call our base, and we just happened to find it, over there..." Ryouta pointed at the distance, where a big building with black walls stood. It looked like a shrine.
"That's our base, and that will be your second home."

Huh... So humans can help digimon evolve with those things? Ophelia had never seen a human-digimon duo until now - let alone a digivice of any sort - so this was all pretty new to her! And this device could do all that sort of stuff...?? Ophelia was visibly awed at the idea of a little handheld device being able to tell her stuff and let her talk to people - that all seemed like something beyond her wildest dreams, given the environment she grew up in..! Could she give something like this to her parents to talk to them wherever she goes...? If she was honest, she still hadn't adjusted to being on her own entirely, and maybe being able to reach out to them would be nice for that... "How does it all work?" She'd ask, peering down to the D-Nexus that Ryouta gave her - tilting it every which way, eyeballing it as though staring at it would help her figure out all the bells and whistles of the strange device in her hands.
As far as the geographical questions went though, Ophelia would be listening curiously to Ryouta's explanations. She didn't exactly know what he meant by some of the things he mentioned, like how a cave might be made of sediment - isn't that stuff like sand and silt? - but it all was still interesting! And there was an underground lake?? "I wanna check out the lake sometime!" She'd mention to Ryouta in an excited hue - having always heard of, but having never really seen any large bodies of water before. Or any significant bodies of water, really, given that she was up in the mountains - and it rarely ever warmed up enough for there to be any significant runoff, with how far into the mountains she lived.
"I mean... Don't digimon usually sorta break down into data, and either get loaded or reborn, anyways?" Ophelia would ask with the mention of corpses or skeletons - it didn't seem like it was that weird for there to not be any remains - she'd be even more concerned if there were remains! But, with the gesture towards the distant shrine-like building, she'd fall quiet with notable awe - everything else seemed to pale in comparison to the base, and the idea that it'd be her second home, it... Made her think a bit. What did it mean, if she had two homes?
Did that mean she was settling down elsewhere, besides home...?

"Right, so... you can press this button to activate call button, see...? Or you can just think the green one as yes, the red one as no, or 'go back' button. The icons you see here are pretty much programs that you can use. This one is call, as in, you can do voice call with me. All the member of KIZNA have their number automatically registered in the D-Nexus. Then there's map, like the one you see before... this one is music, this one is camera to activate your camera... this is the gallery, this is the email function..."
...the explanation continues about fifteen minutes, but it's more or less similar to how the phone in Real World behaved.
"By the way to check availability of people in Digital World, you can check your profile.... if you see there that their name have green dot beside it that means they're in Digital World and it's OK to call them. Red means they're busy or in battle, or in stealth mission. Yellow means they're in another world. If they're asleep, the button will turns grey."
Thing about the lake, Ryouta just smiled and nodded. "Well once the place is fortified enough We'll try to explore there, yeah?"
About the digimon data though, Ryouta shook his head. "...There's a chance that Digimon left...their body parts actually. Chance, but I'm not sure how much... and how long. And why it happened to begin with. Some fossils can be traced back to certain Digimon, but in the end... It's random chance. Also what we're looking isn't Digimon bones, no. It's actually... Human bones. Human remains. There are chances that this place actually was built by human along with Digimon, as some furnitures are completely for human uses..."

Frankly, with all the explaining... Ophelia wasn't sure just how much she could process! She was pretty sure that she got the basics, though some of the more complicated things that Ryouta was explaining she was perhaps a little lost with - not that she'd readily admit it to him. She'd instead nod along as she tried to figure things out - experimenting with the little device in her hands herself, whilst trying to memorize anything that Ryouta said that made sense to her or was otherwise register-able at the time. This was all perhaps a bit much for the little lioness - a rather big jump from no technology, to suddenly this little advanced piece of tech in her hands! Even if it was, in the end, a smartphone - she didn't grow up in an environment where these things were commonplace, so it was almost jarring.
As far as the availability went though, Ophelia would tilt her head a little, and glance to Ryouta - asking "How does this thing know if I'm asleep or fighting someone...?" It being able to tell if they're not in the digital world made sense at least; but the other things seemed confusing to her. And maybe a little creepy - did she really want this thing to know what she was up to...? Why did it have to know whether she was available or not, couldn't she just reach out to someone once she was available?
With the prospect of being able to see the lake though, once everything was fortified enough, Ophelia would light up visibly, and nod excitedly - "Yeah! I'd love to explore the lake with you guys, once everything's ready!" This was something she would definitely be looking forward to - being able to explore with her friends, and maybe even other friends she might make in KIZNA, sounded exciting and fun!
Otherwise though, Ophelia would be quiet and contemplative - but nodded nonetheless - at the mention of some digimon leaving behind fossils, as well as the possibility that humans may have been here - though then came another question, "What kind of furniture would be only for humans to use?" She wondered out loud - glancing down at her phone and wondering if it would be able to tell her the answer to it, though supposing that Ryouta and Valt were right here - they could tell her! "Aren't some digimon kinda shaped n' sized like a human, even if they're not the same?" Her first thought of an example would be Strabimon - like Laertes. Both Laertes and Ryouta walked around on two feet n whatnot, though Laertes was smaller than Ryouta. And more stringbeany.

"The signal you emit usually, and you can set it manually via several button presses. In battle, any heavy activity of harmful data will be registered by it, thus automatically sets your D-Nexus to Red mode. It can somewhat monitor your health. It's not dependable, but that's how it can guess the tell-tale sign that you're asleep. Normal phones doesn't do this, we know that. But thing with it is... imagine when you're in stealth and suddenly your phone BLARES up with any ringtone you set up? That'd be catastrophic, right?"
"Or imagine someone calling you when you're asleep... turned out they just had no idea how to open a can of tomatoes."
"...That what happened to Hikaru huh," Ryouta commented.
"Yeah, he really marched up to that guy's house and just... aggressively opened the can in front of them. No one called him again for that sort of silly reason after that. Because next time they do they know he'll come up with Alphamon form."
The two chuckled at that image of Alphamon opening can of tomato aggressively.
"D-Nexus can be turned off, but... we'd rather not to be honest. We don't know when someone would be in emergency, so we keep it active 24/7."
What kind of furnitures that are for human uses? Indeed there are a lot of human-like Digimons but...
"Even then, I don't think Digimon needs any can opener for example, or old digital clock that sets up to follow human world's dates, right? I have no idea if Digimon have any need for wheelchair, but I saw outdated wheelchair on one of the houses. It's... already rusted, yeah, but still..."

Ophelia would think over Ryouta's explanation - and the mention of Hikaru being called in the middle of the night - before nodding. Though, perhaps she'll stick to setting her D-Nexus manually? She wasn't sure, but it felt a little unsettling that the little device was 'watching' her - even if it was just keeping track of basic things like health and data in the area. "I guess that all makes sense," She would decide though; it certainly wouldn't be good or fun if this little thing drew attention or woke her up in the middle of the night! Everything else seemed super neato though - and she was eager to figure it all out with time.
She wasn't sure what an Alphamon was, either, but she guessed it was some big or weird form this Hikaru had? She wondered what and who Hikaru was, too, though it sounded like he was a KIZNA member, too! He sounded as though he might've been a more serious or no-nonsense type individual, at least going off of what the duo talked about. Either way though, she was pretty excited to meet everyone else in Ys/KIZNA, and get to know her new team; so she figured she'd learn more about Hikaru before long..!
Next though, was the talk of the furniture. She'd quirk her lips a little as she thought about why a digimon might need a can opener or a wheelchair - maybe for a digimon that's injured, or doesn't need claws? Though the clock was a bit more damning in evidence that there might've been humans in this city. Which then raised the question - "Did they leave, or break down into data or something?" She'd ask, gazing to the buildings they were passing by. "Maybe a big mean digimon scared everyone off, or the weather got super bad!"
Did the weather ever get that bad? She wasn't sure, but it did certainly get bad enough that even her mom would hole up in the den with them on a rare occasion.

"..That... I have no idea. There are too many mysteries in this place," Ryouta admitted. It's suggested that this place is build while the city is submerged... but human and many other Digimons cannot breathe in water... even if they have some program that allowed them to breathe underwater then it's probably far more advanced than us who needed oxygen masks. If they do in fact uses oxygen mask then I wonder why there are nothing else left..."
"Even if the weather become super bad, there is no evidence that this place is wrecked by any weather..." Valt then pointed at the top, where the only opening of the city is located. "If this place s wrecked by strong current, I feel this place itself would be completely devastated. The building would be completely destroyed. If there are blizzard then I don't think they can really reach in fullblown manner...
If there is a battle, then this place would be more than deserted. There would be tear from battle... something that we never found at all... in short, whatever the cause was, it's one hell of a silent work."

"Huhm..." Ophelia would hum to herself at Ryouta admitting to not really knowing - and with the city being submerged... ".... Maybe they had some way to produce air around the city?" She'd suggest - even if she was unsure of how exactly people might accomplish that. It was sort of a given though, for humans to live her, "Unless these were like... Special humans who could breathe water!" Ophelia mentioned with a faint giggle, could humans digivolve into having gills, if given the right circumstances? It certainly was an interesting thought; even if humans were fragile, and even if they were from elsewhere, they had to grow in some way, right?
And it seemed like weather wouldn't really be the reason, either, unless it was maybe some sort of deepfreeze? Ophelia wasn't sure - but... Something had to have driven everyone out, right...? "... You're damn right about mysteries," Ophelia would remark with a laugh, tail swishing as she returned to Ryouta's side, and snuggled up to him - staring out the window as she did. "What do you guys think might've driven people out?"
... Hopefully they'd all be safe here, now, yeah? A faint concern occurred to Ophelia that, what might've driven the original civilians out, could possibly happen again - right? Though, then again, everyone here would probably also be figuring out how to keep the place safe - to not let whatever drove out the original civilians drive them out, too. She was sure they'd be okay, though the concern nonetheless did provoke thought for her.

"If it's still underwater, unless it's completely free from water then I don't think so honestly... but if they have something like that then... wow I guess? Heh, as far as I know there are no humans who can breathe underwater, no matter what."
Thinking about some magic that makes human able to breathe underwater and acted as some bullshit reason to have mermaid seem to be far too good to be real, but... he have seen some shit, similar to those. There are magics that some really skilled Digimons are able to use, which probably granted that. But even then he felt it's probably a bit of a stretch to maintain that for a long time, considering that people probably gonna stay in this place for quite a long time.
What do they think drives these people out?
"...Yuuki suggested that it might be... discord. Fights, people no longer trusting one another... and sabotaging one another... then perhaps there are some civil fights that resulted in people being exiled from the city, until it left only a few... a few that decided to leave their once beautiful city after giving up in rebuilding it.
...No idea the truth of this thought. Even Yuuki said that it was 'unlikely'."
"If it's just civil fight then the amount of damage fits," Valt said "There are damages here and there, but most likely no techniques are involved, because there are no signs of such damages."

A civil fight, then...? Ophelia glanced out to the buildings once more - peering to the occasional bit of damage that had yet to be quite patched up. That made sense - that they might've fought amongst themselves... Though, all the same, it also raised the question of why people might've been fighting each other. It seemed like it'd take something big for a community to turn on itself like that, and Ophelia could barely even imagine what might be big enough for such a thing! All the same though, even if Yuuki wasn't sure if it was a likely cause, she still figured it was what made the most sense, with what she understood of everything.
Though, she didn't linger on it for too long, as she glanced to the base - noting that they were almost there! It was an impressive building, even more impressive given that Ophelia had never been to any sort of city before. The way she perked up was quite noticeable as she leaned towards the window to try and get a better look - asking "Ryouta, what's it like in the base? It seems like it'd make a really big den..! Does that mean there's going to be a lot of people in there?"
