Name: Yuzuna Hayashibara
Alias: Haya, Yuzu, Boss-lady
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Height: 5’4” / 164 cm
Weight: 114 lbs. / 51.7 kg
Alignment: Lawful Selfish
Birth Date: January 21
Western Horoscope: Aquarius
Birth Place: Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan
Skills/Talents: She knows how to whistle
Backpack Contents:
Digivice: A blue Xros Loader with a white stripe along the center
Personality: A somewhat serious girl, Yuzuna also tries to be friendly, but that can easily backfire. She's the kind of person who would go out of her way to help any friends, to the point that they know better than to ask for her assistance. If given the opportunity she'd end up creating a complicated strategy that requires more work than necessary.
There's no doing things halfway with her. Caution and methodical planning always get the job done, eventually. Plus most of the faster solutions are too boring. Yuzuna quickly loses interest when problems are too straightforward. She isn't particularly talented at hiding her true feelings, which tends to give the impression that she only cares while she is the one who gets to be in charge...
...Which is probably true. The girl can be a little too focused on her need to do everything perfectly. Not every problem deserves to be solved by someone of her talents anyway. Yuzuna only cares about taking on taking on larger challenges—which means being the leader, not some drone following orders. This is partly because she lives off the recognition other give for her accomplishments. Being in second place in never good enough; she needs to be the best. It’s the easiest way to prove that everyone still needs to keep her around—that she’s not a waste of space.
A desire to be independent drives her to always do the best job possible. Asking for help defeats the whole purpose. The idea of owing a favor bothers Yuzuna enough to go pretty far to avoid being in debt. Additionally, she does not want to rely on a plan that depends on somebody else doing a specific thing to work. One of these days she'll be alone, and then what will happen? Disaster. No one else can be trusted to always be near when needed--not every time--so it's safer to just learn how to do everything herself.
Appearance:
Overall, Yuzuna is a fairlyboring normal-looking teenager of average height. Her figure is naturally slim, without any bulging muscles or smooth curves. A little too plain and stick-like in her opinion. Yuzuna has brown eyes and long brown hair. Right now it’s at the longest length its ever been at, reaching down to her waist. Short bangs manage to cover up her forehead without blocking her vision.
When it comes to clothing, Yuzuna doesn’t wear too many different outfits. At least, not during the school week. Although it’s no longer mandatory for her to do so, she still wears a standard uniform every day. Almost the entire outfit is in some shade of blue or black, from the shirt down to her boots. Occasionally there’ll be a bow or necktie included just to be different.
FaceClaim: FATE SERIES • hakuno kishinami • Yuzuna Hayashibara
Personal History: Yuzuna was born the youngest of two daughters to a Japanese man and Korean woman. The four of them lived in a rather spacious apartment, primarily due to the minimal amount of furniture than actual size. With only one source of income they couldn't afford too many extra things. More often than not, any "new" present or clothing Yuzuna received were handed down from someone else.
The early years were pretty fun, until it came time to start school. Socializing was all Yuzuna really cared about back then. Only weird kids bothered to study extra, and she didn't want to be associated with them. Eventually her parents started to get more hands on and it difficult to get away with being lazy. Her father tried to explain learning things now would lead to a better future with more options available. The poor only have room for the things they need to survive. It's the people at the top that get to do whatever they want.
The lectures didn't make much sense at the time; Yuzuna tried putting in more effort during school to get him to stop talking about it. After a while everyone went back to their normal, distant selves.
Life stayed relatively stable until age twelve. That was the time her father came home saying that he lost his job. Since the rent couldn't be paid, it was necessary to move out. They'd be staying with some aunt in Toshima for a little while. Once they recovered the family could move out again. At least, in theory. Not much progress ever got made towards leaving.
Throughout all this Yuzuna didn't bother to complain. She knew enough to realize that it wouldn't accomplish anything. Around this time she started noticing more events and opportunities that had to be passed up. It became difficult to hide her family's situation from the new classmates. Now she started to understand why learning was important.
Casually wandering through life would lead to more of this. Did she want to stay here forever? No. How does one move up to a better place in life? Education. Or marriage but it's too early for that. Trying to reach some well-respected position like a doctor or lawyer would put Yuzuna on the best path going forward. It didn't have to be exactly those careers; landing anywhere close would be good enough.
The act of earning better grades required a lot more effort than expected, but she wasn't about to admit that to anyone. It would sound like she inherently isn't good enough to be one of the best. The work just had to be done. As long as nothing distracted Yuzuna from her goal, she'd be fine until the university entrance exam.
But on her sixteenth birthday, a mysterious package arrived on her doorstep with no return address. . .
