DC#1 [Part 2] - A city high above the sky [Boru/Titania]

It was likely Titania had never seen Boru this excited. “Y-You mean that? Y-Yes! I think it’ll most definitely work!” His idea had actually been taken into account! Could it be he had actually done a good job? After feeling so useless for a good part of all of this adventure, that was actually very nice, for a change. Titania actually had to drag the Psychemon by an arm to enter the tower; no time to daydreaming now! They had to move.
Of course, getting inside the tower didn’t mean they were out of danger. The Shonitamons outside were about to enter too, so they had to move. The duo went up the stairs, running as fast as possible. Different sets of doors could be found to their left and right as they advanced. Any way to know Boru’s brothers weren’t inside any of those? Not really, but they didn’t have time to search through those rooms one by one.
Sooner than later, the stairs ended. They had found a clear. It was a giant chamber with columns as walls that let the duo see the exterior of where they were. They would quickly notice they had gone up more than they thought of! They were high above now. Which, considering they were already very high above the ground by being on top of ElDoradimon, it was a whole lot of height.
More Shonitamons were spread around the floor of this huge room. Another set of stairs could be seen in the distance. Apparently, they still had a long way to go. But... something or someone was waiting for them.
“I knew I had heard steps, bo.” The moonlight actually let them see a figure standing at the middle of the room. It was that Pandamon. “What are you doing here, even, bo?” His tone of voice was still deep and cold. “You don't work for this organization, do you, bo? Why are you here, bo?” Almost rolled up on the ground, an unconscious digimon rested, right next to the bear. Again, the moonlight let Boru see who it was.
“It’s that Aidramon.” The one they had fought back in the Bayou. This was not only a confirmation that they were at the right place, but also went to show this Pandamon had completely defeated the dragon, who tried to defend this hideout.
“I really don't want to hurt you if you have nothing to do with them, bo.” The Pandamon stated.
Boru was, as usual, a bit terrified. Titania should deal with this guy.

"I do. I think it's definitely worth trying out." Titania said, a big grin appearing on her face before she grasped at Boru's hand and DRAGGED HIM ALONG. "Now let's kick some butt!" She cried as she ascended the steps and batted Shonitamon aside like a crappy deliveryman throwing his wares around!
As they came up into the tamer, it was clear that they were not alone. Titania locked eyes with the Pandamon, and decided to answer his questions with as much truth as she could dare muster. "We don't work for these shmucks, but it's our fight nonetheless. That Airdramon and his associate, a Parrotmon, have kidnapped our friends. We came here to get them back. And if you're not here to hurt us, then get out of our way and let us find our friends. Or else...I might have to go through you! And believe me, I can put up a hell of a fight."
She wasn't kidding, separated from Naoko as she was? She was still Titania. The same Titania that survived for centuries alone. She could totally do this, right?

Tension could almost be sliced with a knife inside this floor of the tower. The Pandamon and Titania were exchanging cold glances, while Boru looked at one of them, and then at the other. Once the fairy stopped talking, the bear remained silent for some seconds, to then finally utter some words.
“It’s a shame. We need to evaluate whether the slaves that they have trapped in here have any type of special feature we must study, bo. This is part of our plan to enhance our army, bo.” So… those words couldn’t mean good news. "I’m sorry for what happened to your friends, bo. But I can’t let you go through here.”
The Pandamon took a fighting stance, showing, for the first time, a gesture he hadn’t shown thus far. A smirk. “I like your attitude, bo. This might be just a hunch, but I think you’ll put a better fight that I could ever find in here.” Again, tension engulfed the environment.
“H-He’s coming…” Boru whispered, sounding terrified. What should the Psychemon do, if Titania was going to fight the Pandamon? What should his objective be? Once she had given an order, Boru would get out of the way.
The panda, on his end, would disappear from the Kazemon’s sight, only a burst of wind being left right after, almost as if he had moved in a direction at such speed it was almost impossible to follow. It was as if he had materialized out of thin air next to the fairy! He threw a mighty punch at Titania. Not any type of punch, his paw was freezing! Even if his opponent managed to block it, whatever she used to do that would start being wrapped by ice.
The Pandamon wasn't playing around.

"Then I regret to inform you that you're not using my friend's brothers or the ones captured by the Parrotmon for anything." Screw their army, Titania was ready to throw down with this Pandamon. She took a fighting stance, but kept a hand close to the ground. Boru's words did reach her ears, but she was anticipating this. "I need you to find a way to send a signal. I'll hold this guy off." That? That was her order.
And then the Pandamon disappeared from sight. He was moving pretty fast, even for the fairy, one who was a warrior of the wind, to keep track of. But, he appeared right next to her and threw a punch as Titania's hand touched the ground and the fairy began to spin on it, performing a handstand like no other. "Tornado Gamba!" A literal shield of winds appeared around her, attempting to deflect the ice fist and keep the Pandamon away.
Of course, the fist touching her leg meant that that limb would soon be frozen solid...

These two moved too quick. The attack and latter counterattack occurred too fast for Boru to even follow with his sight. It was a gust of wind sending him on his rear that announced the two had clashed. Their impact had released a wave of energy that had made the ground shake for a second or two. Even if the Pandamon had been drawn back, it seemed like Titania had taken the shorter end of the stick, ending up with her leg frozen solid.
"Mrs. Titania...! Are you okay?" Boru managed to ask. Having your leg wrapped in freezing ice had to hurt. And, which was better for the Pandamon, this meant she had one leg less to fight back.
The bear, however, looked a bit startled at the fairy's power. Then, his widened eyes sharpened and a smirk appeared on his face. He was having fun.
This didn't mean he was going to hold anything back, though. The Pandamon bounced a couple of times on the same spot and was propelled against Titania, throwing another punch. His fist had a dim blue glow and white frost came out of it. By now, Titania would probably be able to tell this one was going to freeze whatever it touched too. What defensive tactic would she have in mind by now?
Silently, Boru started rubbing his feet against the floor. A purple-colored electricity started going through the pelt covering his body and up to his horn. He would soon be ready to attack. He just couldn't leave Titania do all the job, could he?

She was down a limb. Boru should be able to note that this was, in fact, not okay at all! "I'll be fine!" Titania said, through clenched teeth. It was true, this would turn out fine but...that didn't lessen the pain. Furthermore, the Pandamon was already rearing up for another punch. Of the same kind he hit her with, no less.
Titania had to move quickly. With a flutter of her wings, she took to the air with the sole intent of keeping that Pandamon AWAY FROM HER. However, her movement was sluggish in nature, no thanks to her frozen leg. So, the fist came a bit closer than she would've hoped. Oops, there goes her foot.
Her response to this was to throw her hands forward as miniature tornadoes shot forth from her fingers, aimed towards the Pandamon! Boru would need to act quickly if he wanted to attack and lend his pal some aid!

The mighty wind that was thrown his way when the Kazemon bounced back was definitely impressive. However, the Pandamon considered the fairy had still not shown anything truly amazing in terms of power to him. What was actually surprising was that she didn’t seem fretted at all, despite having her leg and one of her feet frozen. Why? Was she actually that confident on winning? No time to ponder about it, tornadoes were coming his way! They all moved erratically without a giving pattern although it was obvious they all were looking to clash against him to inflict damage. The Pandamon knew he had to push forward. He couldn’t give his enemy the time to recover. Almost as if he was disappearing in thin air, he started moving forward, dodging the tornadoes. He wasn’t completely impossible to see. The bear appeared almost every second, having advanced some meters. It seemed like he only could do bursts of speed and not actually move faster than what the eye could see all of the time. Of course, he miscalculated. After all, how can you predict what doesn’t follow a pattern? In order to dodge one of the twisters, he appeared in front of another one, only to be hit by it. The Dark Army's soldier rolled on the floor and landed on one knee, ready to reincorporate. He was about to jump back into action but… something was coming! The corner of his left eye caught a bolt of electricity moving his way. Having noticed the incoming attack too late, he only managed to jump back in a very unorthodox way. He was almost hit by inches, but the electricity barely scrapped him. The bolt escaped through one of the gaps between the columns and exploded into the sky outside of the tower. With the fireworks happening behind him, the Pandamon turned his face towards the one who attacked: Boru. “That was a good try, Bo. You almost hit me.” He glared at the Psychemon. Who seemed to be paralyzed after launching his technique. “I don’t know what that thing could have done to me. But I like your braveness, bo. Not being afraid of me just because I’m an Ad-…” The Pandamon interrupted himself, his eyes widening. Was this Psychemon… shaking? He was. He was shaking a lot. Boru closed his eyes, clenching his teeth. Was he frustrated? No. It was something else. He was expectant. “I can value your bravery, bo. Unfortunately,…” Before the Pandamon uttered any other word, he was interrupted again, this time by the horned digimon himself. His eyes closed, the scaredy Psychemon shouted: “I wasn’t aiming at you, idiot!” “Wha-?“ The feeling of something drawing in at an amazing speed got to the Pandamon. Before he could react to it… Boom. The pillars behind him exploded, making the whole building shake. A cloud of smoke let both Titania and Boru see a familiar face, gliding outside of the tower. “I-I didn’t even know I could do that!” Sonia shouted. Fire had actually come out when she fluttered her wings! Well, worry not, she was here. Debris and dust were at the order of the day throughout the whole chamber. "That was a very obvious sign! So good job, Boru! Now let's go up!" Sonia started fluttering her wings to see what was waiting for them at the floors above. Boru thought about what should he do next, forcing himself to move despite being scared. Was jumping on top of Sonia an option? No, too risky. The Pandamon would be up in a minute. He just had to leave this room right now. “G-Go for the prisoners, Sonia! I’ll meet you there!" Boru started making his way to the stairs going up, while Sonia started fluttering her wings to gain some height through the outside. “I won’t let you…!” The Pandamon propelled himself towards Boru, ready to strike him.

In all honesty, Titania thought she'd be alone for this fight. It was something she had considered and accepted when she engaged the Pandamon in combat. She was aware that not all of her tornadoes would strike on their mark, but that didn't prepare her for Boru launching an attack at the very Pandamon she was fighting!
She remained quiet and witnessed their exchange. If she reminded the Pandamon that she was there, the element of surprise could very well be lost here. And with Sonia's entrance, the anticipation she had felt became pride. Now, now was the time to make her move. As the Pandamon propelled himself towards Boru, Titania flew in!
"I won't let you harm him! I am your opponent!" She yelled as she flew up before descending upon the Pandamon. Her Astato Vespa would already be a pretty powerful technique on it's own. However, there was something aiding in this particular one. Something that the Pandamon had inflicted.
The ice on her legs was proving to be a great source of weight for this. And whether she hit the Pandamon or not? That ice might not be a problem much longer!

In another amazing show of speed, the Pandamon was getting closer and closer to Boru. The Psychemon’s eyes widened as he froze at the upcoming attack. Right when the bear digimon appeared in front of him, his glance was able to catch Titania right above the enemy. Not a second later, the impact occurred. The Kazemon had managed to make contact. Her kicks had been so aggressive they even produced a small whirlwind around the contact zone. The Pandamon was propelled against a wall, breaking its layout in the process. The ice around Titania’s leg didn’t break, but it had definitely gotten the job done. That had hurt like hell. Boru stared at the fairy in front of him for a moment. “Mrs. Titania…. Are you going to be okay?” He asked, hesitating about moving. Rocks and other debris laid on top of the Dark Army’s soldier right now. He wasn’t moving, but it was clear he was standing reincorporating at any minute. Boru was worried about her friend’s wellbeing. He should get moving, but… he hesitated.
A roaring sound and a tremble seemed to have unsettled everyone inside the room. The illumination was poor and just a bunch of complicated machines and computers were scattered everywhere. Koru looked above towards the roof, and then to his brother, sitting at the metal cage’s floor. “What was that?” He inquired. His brother didn’t seem to have a clue. The Psychemon then glared at the other cage inside the room. He could see two shadowy figures inside. According to what they had been told, everyone who arrived at the settlement needed to go through this room so the leader could examine them before taking them to the prisoners room. However, these two digimon inside that cage seemed to have been here for a lot longer. Due to the poor illumination, the two Psychemon had never been able to tell how they looked, not since they arrived yesterday after being brought by the Parrotmon. For how long could those two had been held inside of this place? Scarce food and water had been provided to either them Koru and Boru and the digimon inside the other cage. From where they were, they had been able to recognize the two digimon controlling the computers inside, the ones who seemed to be their captors. One of them was a Nanomon, who seemed to be the leader. The taller, truly scary one was a Death Meramon, who remained quiet the whole time, just standing behind the one who seemed to be his master. “Damn it! Now what!?” The Nanomon shouted, moving his long hands and typing through multiple keyboards. “Who is that!?” A security camera showed a Kazemon and a Pandamon battling inside a room. “Is she an ally? That makes no sense!” He kept typing. The digimon had a raspy, acute voice. Quietly, the Death Meramon extended his arm to point at another of the screens. It showed an Aegiomon taking out Shonitamons as he ran up a staircase. “He keeps pushing forward. He’s about to reach this room. Death Meramon, go stop him!” As the giant came out of the room, a Blackgatomon entered. “Viza! What is going on downstairs? How can they not be able to stop a single adult level digimon!?”
What would be the cat’s answer?

"If I were to be honest, I don't know." Titania uttered, keeping herself afloat. "I do know that you need to get going, though. Sonia needs you. Your brothers need you. I can take care of this...loathsome bear. Promise." Whether or not that would prove to be true? They would find out in the coming minutes.
But Boru had to go. He had to go help his friends. "Get going!" She repeated to Boru before she put her hands to her forehead, anticipating the Pandamon to get back up at any second. And when he did, she'd definitely be ready. Viza had been running in a panic for the past several minutes, and was honestly quite confused. "I-I don't know how! Everything we throw at him just...doesn't seem to work! I know Aegiomon aren't exactly common, but this one's just tearing through us like butter!" She took a look at the screens and saw Titania and the Pandamon's duel. "And those two are just as much thorns in my side as he is!"

His eyes tearing up a bit, Boru just gave a firm nod. “You can do it, Mrs. Titania!” She better won this battle. She had to. The Psychemon just ran up the stairs as fast as he could.
The debris started moving as the Pandamon reincorporated. His head and his arms slowly got out of the pile of crumbled concrete and he stood still, panting. He looked different from the warrior full of confidence Titania had faced just a moment ago. She was slowly pushing him to his limits. “I can’t… lose, bo.” He muttered, while he recovered his breath. “There’s someone… waiting for me... at that place, bo.”
In a swift movement, the panda extended his arms, a layer of solid ice started materializing throughout the floor, going straight towards Titania and even moving up the air to get her, if she tried to fly. To top that, the Pandamon had propelled himself, going through the air to throw another punch at the fairy! Could she dodge or counter both of these attacks?
Koru and Roru remained inside their cage, watching the conversation in front of them unfold as much as the dim light of the room allowed them to.
“Who is he working for?” The Nanomon turned to the screen, looking at Tip go through more and more Shonitamons, getting rid of them with blasts of electricity. It was chaos down there! And he was about to reach that room, the one located at the top of the tower. The Psychemon brothers could only ask the same: who was that digimon? Was he fighting to save them or did he have different interests? Their expression would become one of horror when they saw DeathMeramon point at another of those screens.
“B-Boru!?” Koru whispered. His brother was just as shocked. What was their brother doing here? The screen showed the Psychemon running up a set of stairs, while another screen showed Sonia gaining height outside.
“More of them!?” The Nanomon slammed both hands against his keyboard and then pointed at Viza. “Go take care of that Psychemon, now! I’ll send Parrotmon to take care of the Aquilamon.” He ordered. Then, he started typing on one of his keyboards with a hand while he pointed at a door behind him with the other. “Go through that door and down the stairs to take the escape route, that way you won’t bump into the Aegiomon on your way down.”
Right now, Tip was the enemy at the highest floor of the tower. Boru was several floors down below, moving up. No enemies on his way, since the Aegiomon had taken care of all of them. While this happened, Sonia moved from outside the tower, flying up too. And several floors below, the battle between Titania and Pandamon continued. Three different groups with different interests were clashing inside the tower. The outcome was anyone’s guess right now.

It appeared that the Pandamon was getting serious. The more sane of combatants would be deathly afraid, scared shitless, even. However, Titania was not one of those combatants. In this case, the Pandamon getting serious was...good. "Then I'm sorry to be keeping you from that special someone."
Titania flew up as the layer of ice came towards her, and up at her, too, before the Pandamon threw himself right at her! She could avoid the ice, but that punch was a touch more difficult for her, as it struck the fairy dead on. It sent her flying back some, ice growing and gnawing at her frame, before she began to glow. "...My turn."
The fairy promptly rushed at the Pandamon, trying her damndest to execute a series of kicks at the bear, while a...figure split from her. A prismatic, multicolored effigy of the Kazemon who flawlessly mimicked her Hurricane Wave attack, the tornadoes flying for the Pandamon!
In a sense, fire was being fought with fire. "An unknown third party. At least, unknown to me. This strike's a little more coordinated than I had anticipated..." The feline replied to the Nanomon. She flexed her claws as she was given an order, an order to intercept the Psychemon. While she was sure she could take on the Aegiomon?
She trusted the Nanomon a little bit. Viza quickly departed out the door and down the escape route. Her plan of action was simple. Once Boru came into her sight, Viza would strike. End it quickly. The question is, though, how quickly would Boru ascend?
When would he come?

This was an absolute war. The Pandamon was throwing everything he had at the fairy and the fairy was not going to hold back either. A smirk appeared on the bear’s face after landing that first smash and brutally sending Titania back. The ice should take care of her soon enough. The more hits he managed to strike at her, the faster she would freeze.
“You’re not the one keeping me from her, bo.” He replied, taking a fighting stance again, knowing a counterattack was coming. “I wish it was as simple as that.” A lot of sorrow could be felt in that voice.
In a swift movement, the Kazemon appeared right in front of the bear. He managed to protect himself from the incoming attacks by using his arms, blocking the kicks with them. Of course, it still hurt like hell, but at least he wasn’t taking any full hit. The power this digimon had in her legs was amazing.
In order to get the fairy away from him, the Pandamon raised another barrage of ice from down below, trying to reach her. She shouldn’t have much trouble avoiding this, but the goal was to get her away from him. However, right when the Kazemon cleared the way, his sight would find a group of tornadoes thrown his way. Contact. Full, painful, contact. The wind kept slicing and scraping the panda’s body as the tornado even lifted him into the air. Once the technique was done with him, he plummeted onto the ground.
Now he was dizzy. The Pandamon was having trouble to even remain standing and his whole body was wobbling from one side to the other. The fight was getting harder by the second. He needed to gain distance and not let his sight be blocked by anything else again.
“I told you... I can’t lose!” The bear raised both arms, shards of ice starting to materialize in front of him. Some of them were huge, other really tiny, but they all traveled through the air towards Titania. And they all seemed like could hurt a lot.
“Another one…” Boru had arrived at just another room. This one was a lot smaller than the one where Titania was having her fight. The roof was a lot lower and the whole space was a lot narrower, almost like a giant aisle. By the end of it? The stairs. Those he needed to keep climbing to get to his brothers. In front of those stairs, a BlackGatomon.
Clenching a fist to avoid shaking, Boru spoke, helping himself from stuttering. “You again…” All of the BlackGatomon he had seen in the past were adult level digimons. It was true she ran away from that Aegiomon, but who wouldn’t? That didn’t mean she wasn’t a dangerous opponent.
Especially for him, who didn’t have any real combat experience.
“Get out of my way! I need to go find my brothers!” He shouted.
Did he really just say that? It was likely an attack was about to come his way, no warning issued.

So long as she just kept moving and avoiding the ice, Titania should have this battle in the bag. Unfortunately, it was difficult. Naoko wasn't here, which meant she was far from able to actually make use of her full power. Granted, that was about as much as she could afford to throw at the Pandamon in this form.
As the 'other' Kazemon faded from view, the real Titania put on some distance. In the nick of time, too. The Pandamon threw out a literal hailstorm of ice, shards of varying sizes all flying at her. Wasting no time, Titania put a hand to the ground and began to spin once more, her Tornado Gamba forming around her as the ice sailed at the body of wind...And was promptly strewn about everywhere! All over the place!
This truly was as chaotic as a war, huh?
Viza cracked her knuckles as she descended the stairs and locked eyes with the Psychemon. "Oh? And what're you gonna do if I don't? Whine at me to death? Your girlfriend isn't here to save you, you know, and I'm not the kind of kitty you wanna be alone with." The BlackGatomon told Boru, her tone growing much more...sinister than it had been at the tavern.
Lightning--Black lightning, at that, arced across Viza's claws as she made her move, the cat suddenly lunging for Boru at an impressive speed (for a rookie, bear in mind that she doesn't have a ring on her tail) yet one that the Psychemon could deal with if he were quick enough on his feet. Viza swiped both of her claws at the Psychemon, lighting arcing off of them. A genuine attempt to claw into him.
It was tough to tell whether or not the claws were the real threat here or the lightning--both hurt equally as much, but she didn't seem like she could keep the sparking up for long. Could she?

The battles that would decide the fate of this tower and every digimon inside of it had begun.
Like a meteor, Parrotmon came out from above the tower, plummeting over Sonia, who was barely able to move out of the way on time before the impact. The green bird reincorporated and went up to charge against the Aquilamon again. Sonia kept dodging and trying to use her wings to slice the enemy, while she pushed forward. She needed to keep going up the tower.
“Enough! I need to get to the top of the tower!”
Ice was flying everywhere inside the room where Titania and the Pandamon fought. At first, a barrier made with ice protected the bear from the icicles he had created himself. Then, such barrier disappeared for him to charge at full speed against the Kazemon, even going through the pain of the shards slicing his body. Another ice barrier appeared behind Titania, trying to avoid she dashed back and took distance from him.
“Ice pit!”
After hearing this shout, the fairy would notice everything around the room was starting to freeze, the ice closing in on them slowly and from every direction. He was trying to block her escape routes, to trap her inside a chamber of ice. He knew she was quick, so he had to turn this into a one on one combat.
And he was going to do exactly that. The Pandamon threw another mighty punch at Titania, trying to stop her Tornado Gamba. He wanted an exchange of blows in close combat. This was where he wanted to take the fight. The bear was panting, and his body showed multiple wounds. The consequences of this combat were rather obvious. For how long could he keep this up?
“I’ll go back for you. No matter what.”
While he listened to Viza’s words, the creak of his teeth rubbing between them was the only thing that Boru issued. His claws were tightened into a fist and his body was shaking. He was frustrated, angered. But at the same time, he was very scared. A couple of days had passed since he met Titania, sleeping on top of that tree. Since then, he had not been alone. This was the first time he actually felt he was by himself in the quest to save his brothers. He was fighting a stronger, quicker digimon, while he didn’t even know how to fight. He was just a thief from Rustport.
If only she were here… “Jazz…” He muttered. She was the one who could deal with this. She was the one who was actually made for this.
He? He didn’t have a single chance.
Boru’s body flew through the air and rolled over the floor several meters until it stopped. Dark electricity was still circling through his body. That had been a mighty blow.
Slowly, he tried to stand up.
Viza was about to come at him again. He had to do something. He had to move.
But he couldn’t. He was not made for this.
