Hmm, perhaps he wasn't clear in what he meant, "I never said I would forgive he no matter what, I don't know if I could. She should have told us what she was doing, explain what possible reason she would have to leave, she could end up being an a-hole and dad just never noticed! It'd just be nice to know why is all I'm saying, but unlike dad I could live without knowing, knowing is more for my dad's sake."
As he took a sip of water, the waiter came along with a tray that had two sandwiches on it, they both where cut in half and had a tooth pic with a pickle in it. He put them in front of the two of them, bowing as he told them, "Enjoy your meal", before going back to the kitchen with the tray. John took a deep breath and was getting filled with happiness, remembering that day he first had the sandwich.
As Mae gave her advice, John listened with interest and took it into consideration, although he wasn't sure if the dragon part was because of the alcohol or not, he decided to leave out his plans for now. "Well that sounds crazy, I don't know how powerful a Super Mega is, but since you said "god-powered" before it, that sounds like something really strong, and if that was something that was beaten by a dragon...Wow!"
John was unsure what to make of the info Mae has given to him, but before he could ponder about it his stomach started growling. After thinking for a moment, he decided to take care of his hunger and started to eat his sandwich. On the first bite, he couldn't help but let out a "Mmmmm!", and savored each bite he took, wiping his mouth after each one.
"So basically...what I'm taking from this...is that she may have been an asshole the entire time and just sprang that up on you. Sure, maybe the truth will be nice to know for your dad but what then? What will he do with that knowledge, hm?" As the waiter stopped by with their food, Mae swiped her sandwich up, took one look at the pickle, removed it, and promptly bit a huge chunk out of it immediately.
...That was an unsettling set of teeth on the lady. Perhaps the Holosuit didn't hide -everything- monstrous about Mae. "They're close to gods on their own." She stated after swallowing. "It had to blow itself up to defeat the god-powered one but still. Nasty stuff. If you ever run into a Megidramon, then run. Same with ChaosGallantmon. They're said to be one and the same." And with that, she took another huge chunk out of the sandwich.
"Well I was only 5, I don't have any memories of her, so this is all speculation on my part." As John finished one of his half's, he took the toothpick that was in the other half and kinda slowly twirled it between his thumb and index finger. "As for if my dad found out, it's my hope that he'll be able to move on if the answer is... Less then ideal, it may be hard at first, but I'm sure he'll pull through."
As he put his pickle slice in his mouth, he looked at Mae to see her open her maw that was filled with many sharp, pointy teeth. Looking at this, he stopped mid-chew and blinked a few times. "...Huh, not every day you can see someone devour a sandwich in two bites, honestly that's kinda cool, if a little disturbing." He thought, swallowing his pickle before making a mental note in his head of the kinds of digimon he should avoid.
As he was almost done with his second half, their waiter came by with the check, asking John if he wanted a refill on his water, John said no and thanked him for the meal, the waiter bowed in response and left. John wiped his hand and mouth before picking it up and looked though it, then looked back at Mae. "I can get this, if that's okay?"
"Well, that's unfortunate." Mae noted. She didn't necessarily have the...empathy that might be expected of her right now to note that she didn't have such memories at all. Then again, she didn't think she had that at all. "You either move on, or you don't. I don't think things get simpler than that."
She decided to take another sip of her drink. The STING was starting to be more welcome. "Doesn't change anything that happened, truth be told. Or make stuff less sketchy." The guised cat then opened her maw again to finish the poor sandwich off, before looking towards John.
Was he seriously offering to pay? Well, she didn't mind that. If he could, then he could. "Sure. I mean, that's fine and all. Also, you ever find it weird that they let a Flamon handle alcohol?" Wasn't that shit flammable?
John blinked for a moment, processing the fact that they could have had a flame blow up in their faces. Shrugging after accepting that could have happened, he pulled out his bits and took another look at the bill, but saw that he misread the price, that he thought was an even 1000, but missed the 5 that was before a two, making the price 2500.
Sweating a little, he looked back up at Mae, "Hey I know that I said I'm good for this, but I didn't read the price properly, and I'm 1500 bits short, is it possible for you to maybe help out with this." John tries to give her a smile, but can't keep it up and sighs. "I'm sorry, I should have looked more closely at the price before offering to pay."
John places down the bill, looking away in embarrassment at his mistake, thinking that he made a fool of himself again.
