"Were the bindings really necessary Oathgard?"
"Until they confirm some things they have to stay on."
K let out a soft sigh and leaned against the wall of the lobby to what she had been told would be where she'd be meeting with those that she had spoken to previously in her trip to luminas and this whole contract deal. She'd idly pick at the shackles and tilt her head, looking at the few individuals that were waiting around for their own reasons.
"They likely won't stay on after the meeting is finished."
"Hopefully. I don't like the idea of having to wander around Luminas with my hands locked in front of me."
The renamon frowned a little bit and shook her head, the Seraphimon standing with his arms crossed next to her. He hadn't taken a seat the whole way, even with the other guards that had been 'assigned' to her here. They weren't taking any chances with her, especially considering her job. Especially considering what she had said before being transported here.
She'd shoot a glance at the door that opened at the end of the hall, a few individuals coming out with thoughtful looks on their faces. Really the only one she was looking for was that angewoman that was ushering people in or out. They would probably show her in if anything, and if not she was expecting her 'guards' to sort of escort her there.
"I don't think they were expecting me to report a success so soon."
"Who knows really..."
The renamon let out a loose chuckle and leaned back in her seat, her cloak was sitting comfortably and draping to either side of her helping hide the shackles from view from the side but... from the front most could tell she was restrained.
Wonder how long they'll keep me waiting...

The shackles might have set the wrong tone, though.
Those few short months ago, after K would have returned with stories of her success, the shackled fox would have been brought before Luminas' council to decide if she had properly made amends - and knowing the beauracracy of that holy empire, there would have been a good chance that she would have still had to serve for some crime. But, despite the chains, there was definitely a different 'air' around here.
For one, this was not a grand marble hall, but a simple office off to the side. And for some high and holy order, things looked increasingly mundane: Digimon of different types walked on past, spoke openly, and even laughed out in the halls. The Angewomon herself seemed increasingly uncomfortable - and why not, she'd simply been demoted from her old rank to that of a greeter! Just what had happened here?
Well... just after the incident in the woods, something changed deep within Luminas' structure. The unrest with the city's inaction and ability to be swindled by mere illusions of holy acts and grandeur finally came to a head, and those who had been on top were finally being shaken free of their ranks. Thus, it wasn't with great thanks and distrust that K was welcomed here.
Instead, it was the call of a single Angemon: "K? We'll see you now." And the fox would either walk forward or be led into that office, to already find the angel on the other side of the desk, looking through the file.
"Hm... seems here like you're one of the few whose picked up and actually finished one of the old Order's impossible tasks..."

K rubbed at her muzzle softly and swept her eyes around furrowing her brow just a bit as it took her a few long odd moments to really have that tone settle in. That difference that she couldn't really place before eased it's way in. She'd tut softly and noted that angewoman that had been from earlier. That did raise a pretty good question to her; and with the brightness that was placed in front of her....
Just what happened?
The renamon flicked an ear after hearing her name being called. Shrugging her shoulders she'd stand up and slowly walk forward. The few guards trailed after her and she raised a brow once she was inside of that office proper. She didn't recognize the angel in front of her... which wouldn't be too much of a surprise considering that she hadn't interacted much with luminas proper past that council meeting or the other... incident.
"I did say I would."
The renamon inspected the office that she was in, sweeping her eyes to and fro for a few long moments. She'd scratch at her muzzle and stare quietly at the angemon in front of her; trying to get a read on them before speaking.
"If the old order is down and out, where does that leave me?"
If they wanted her to do more just to expunge her records she might have to bite the bullet so to speak. She'd frown slightly and consider her options here. She was pretty much powerless if they decided she would be imprisoned or the like...

"You're about the one-in-fifty that manages to actually pull it off." The Angemon, in more of the tone of a bored politician, simply rolled his eyes as he went over the report. And, just as casually, he waved a palm forward - a flash of light filling the lock on K's shackles, the metal binding her simply clambering off onto the floor.
Yes, exactly where did that leave her? "Let's put it this way. You've done something that would ordinarily culminate in a feast and festivities for your accomplishments, but you're instead attending an informal hearing in what amounts to a bureaucratic basement. Honestly, I apologize for that, but the restructuring hasn't been kind on the higher-ups. Only those like Oathgard, who were willing enough to put their own necks on the line, maintained any kind of rank."
The Angemon, in that same breath, would open a fresh notebook, and put the current date and time at the top of the page. "For the record, please give your personal events of that day. Include any details you can remember, regardless of how relevant or irrelevant you think they might be."

K blinked a few times and then looked down to her hands that were now free. She'd rub at her wrists and raise a brow quietly. She wasn't expecting that in the slightest really. Sighing a bit she'd rub at her muzzle and consider quietly what the other was telling her. She had done something that would of ended in a feast and festivities? She found that hard to believe but...
Honestly the idea of it was somewhat entertaining. She'd slowly shrug at his apology and find herself easing her stature a little bit. Her shoulders weren't so tense and she'd flick her ears in such a manner that spoke of relief. So oathgard had also been able to maintain rank? She couldn't help but wonder what that meant for him in this place.
"It's nothing you need to apologize for. But I appreciate it."
The renamon frowned a little bit and then the next thing that he asked of course just managed to draw out an earnest sigh. Well what could she really go over... Well she'd start with the simplest first! Running the mountain of paperwork that had come from making vander tower an actual fortress for her knights, learning of the battle that was ongoing in her neck of the woods and the careful watch they implemented in order to see who or what was responsible for it.
She'd go in great detail of the battle, the few individuals that she knew that were there because of their data signals at the time. The 'knights' that responded to the situation. Both her, luke, and iko. The fight that she partook in of course had the most detail but the ultimate thing that she had to do to survive would of course likely gain the most scrutiny.
"...And in the end I loaded him, used gate of destiny and found myself in a hot springs a good few miles from the conflict itself. After that it was just a matter of getting into contact with the government here to report what occured. With the head of the snake bitten off I wasn't sure where else I could of gone, but in my state I wasn't in any position to fight and I wasn't going to risk digitization myself."
The renamon scratched at her ear and frowned a little bit. She wasn't sure what else she could really go into detail about. But... she retold everything in terms of this small conflict as asked. And would of course go over any questions or concerns that the Angemon had of this...

Nothing they needed to apologize for? "That wasn't the tone around here last week... never seen such crowds..."
Right, that was neither here nor there. As K started to speak, the Angemon would tap his pen to the page. The instrument was imbued with holy light, and started to transcribe the exact words the Renamon spoke of - of her morning preparation to engaging the Wisemon, to even fighting on the other side of the Gate of Destiny. Definitely a hard-fought battle to be sure, and as K came to her conclusion, the Angemon tapped a finger on the desk.
"Hm..." He took a few moments to think it over. "Though it was likely unavoidable, the fact that you were forced to load him might prove somewhat problematic. Oathgard, to the extent that the data begins to impact her negatively, please keep in touch with us. Aside from that..."
The Angemon snapped the file shut. "Just to keep things simple, we're going to honor the Order's contract by the letter, and consider what transgressions there were, forgiven. Both for this..." and he sighed, "... and the Island 8-C incident, which I imagine they were going to conveniently 'discover' between the last meeting and this one."

K let out a soft snort and shook her head at the mention of the crowds; she couldn't really imagine how it would of been up here. Honestly she didn't know much about this city in particular compared to the others. More things she really hard to learn and if they were going to go through some changes... Well... She'd have to see what the 'new' government was about.
She'd scratch awkwardly at her muzzle as he addressed the fact that she was forced to load him. She knew that was going to be a problem but honestly what else was she supposed to do in that situation? Just let herself die? No. She wouldn't address it like that...
"I bet my husband might be able to do something about the Data if it does impact me negatively. I'll have to talk to him about it."
The renamon shrugged a little bit and found her brow raising. The angel however gave a firm nod at being told what to do. It wouldn't be hard for him to keep in touch with luminas after all. K blinked a bit and just nodded to what the Angemon had to say in regards to the contract. That they were going to honor it for both this and for the Island 8-C. She'd furrow her brow and glance at Oathgard before looking back at the Angemon.
"I appreciate it. I wouldn't of been surprised if they had to be honest. They were quite... upset with me I feel."
She'd rub at her muzzle thoughtfully and found her brow furrowing slowly. She wasn't sure what else there was to really address here? So she'd have to voice that particular concern.
"With that taken care of is there anything else that needs to be addressed?"

"Honestly between this, the Icy Fate, and being pulled out of office, the old Order's a bit more than upset at this whole ordeal. Not that it really matters anymore..."
The Angemon sighed, nodding as he sat back up. Right, there was just one more thing that he had to cover - and this was more for the Seraphimon who had escorted the Renamon here. "Oathgard, we might as well discuss it now. Your duties to observe K have obviously come to an end, but I cannot guarantee that you'll have the same position here given... well, 'this'." The angel gestured vaguely to the room as a whole, and continued:
"Knowing that, your options are fairly open - at least if you make a decision sooner rather than later. What's your intent?"

K flicked an ear quietly at the mention of another group she hadn't heard about. The icy fate? Who were they even? She could only imagine the sheer anger that the old order would have on being removed from power. She'd rub at her muzzle quietly and blink at oathgard being addressed. The latter of which shared the dubious expression for all of but a moment. He'd tilt a helmeted head as the Angemon explained that he might not have the same position in luminas if he was to come back.
"There are many things I could do and likely many that would love to have me. But if it's all the same to you? I'd like to continue my work working with the Knights of the Rose. With their most recent venture of removing wisemon there's no telling where they may go next. Will they continue to do what K says they will? Or go in a different direction? It'd be wise to keep an eye on them."[/color]
He'd cross his arms and turn his head quietly to look at the renamon who seemed rather taken back that Oathgard would even suggest such a thing in front of her. She'd frown slightly and shrug, she had figured he would of been with her group for the long run until they did something luminas didn't approve of.
"Not like it'd change all too much, but at least the tone won't be as... frustrating."
K shook her head a little bit and oathgard found himself grinning after a few moments. Tapping his helmet he'd consider something and then paused.
"I know this will seem odd, but would it be possible to assign an additional member under K's jurisdiction? I have someone in mind for it and it'd make me a little more comfortable in the position itself."
"Technically you're under that."
"But not in the open. Having an individual that works directly under you from Luminas in the aftermath of this would be an appropriate move."
After a few long moments she'd give the angel an odd look and then just shake her head. Giving a small shrug before crossing her arms quietly. There was a lot that she could say to this and well... she was honestly out of her element here.
"Tch... Next you're going to see if I can work under them..."
The renamon made a small gesture to signify the angemon sitting in front of them. Her brow raising quite a bit at the intended joke; but oathgard as he was seemed to run with it in a different direction...
"I mean working for Luminas as you are wouldn't be too bad..."
The look that K would make at that statement only made the angel shake his head. That amused grin splitting his face after a few moments.

It didn't take Oathgard much thought to make his choice - and as such, the Angemon didn't try to convince him to stay. "You'll be a part of their legacy too. Don't fancy yourself too much of an observer - else the entire world is just going to pass you by."
The Angemon gave a shrug, seemingly ready to adjourn this meeting - until Oathgard put another idea in the hat. He wanted to bring along another member? "Hm. If you're able to pull the strings and organize it, I'll see what I can do on this end." That small matter was quickly agreed to - and at the comment on K working for Luminas, the Angemon just gave a chuckle.
"Careful there. There's still quite a few here that would have rather seen her tied to the stake. Times are changing, but the old order still has their fanatics - so I wouldn't be trudging along here longer than you need to be. Not yet, anyway."
That was, perhaps, the first honest, well-meaning warning K would have ever heard from Luminas.
"For now, I believe the matter is settled."

Oathgard dipped his head in a small nod at the mention that he needed to be more than an observer. That he'd be part of this legacy too... Well it was something he'd need to work on it seemed and he would shoot K a glance who was mulling over something quietly. At the mention of him pulling the strings along with organizing it he'd give a curt nod.
"Won't be hard. Not like Garlond is up to much these days. He'll enjoy the change in scenery."
The Angel rolled his shoulders and turned to the door. K herself flicked her ears and stared at the angemon as he gave her probably the only warning that didn't make her skin crawl from coming from this place. No this place had changed and thankfully for the better. She'd hum gently and just simply nod.
"I'll keep that in mind. Thank you."
The renamon gave a small bow of respect before turning on her heel and leaving out of the room. Oathgard however had taken maybe a step before glancing back towards the Angel. He looked like he wanted to say something else but before he could K would call out to him.
"Coming Oathgard?"
"Tch.. right can't have you walking around on your own..."
The angel hurried up and left the office. It wouldn't be hard for him to set up the other to work for K. Nor would it really detract from the current hierarchy too much. He was after all just a "butler".
