On the other side of the Digital World, far away from the grassy groves. and ancient forest. A stretch of desert which seemed to reach for as far as the eye could see and then beyond that. It would be a common thought, that such an unbearably humid place would go uninhibited. But, in the middle of nowhere stood a small but thriving town that would be best described as ramshackle at best. The town itself appeared as if it had been built from spare parts, or rather, whatever had been laying around. Still, Rustport Town stood as a monument of togetherness even if it was a little odd in design and placement. It had become home to a group of Digimon. Mainly those who took kindly to a desert-like biome and even some that had no excuse to be in such a place at all. One such member of the town had been found and cared for by the ragtag Digimon, even before the town had been established. A well-defined odd bunch. A clockwork creature made up of gears, cogs and other bits of old and rusted machinery which caused it to stutter as it spoke. A mass of sand taken shape, the shape being a snowman who barely spoke at all. Finally, the leader of this most strange ragtag of group’s, the old man who was more hair than man or so it seemed. This group, almost a family, spend most of the time closeted up in a local tavern drinking merrily. Some a lot more than the rest. Or, otherwise, making up stories to keep each other entertained. The final member found herself looking up in the wide, twilight violet sky as stars twinkled overhead. She didn’t know why, but something made her want to look up from the roof tonight. It was just a strange, prickling feeling – almost like it was calling out to her and to not do so, would result in a lost opportunity. The creature stood out from the desert wasteland that surrounded them as well as most of the other creatures in the town, being pure white like fresh snow. Upon her tail which was curled around her body, an ancient-looking golden ring glistened as brightly as the stars overhead. All was silent, except for the slight hum which escaped from the crack in the tavern windows, beneath her. Until... “What is that?” The white cat mused to herself, looking up, just as a rip opened up between the stars themselves. It was like the sky had opened a mouth and from within spat out… a tiny, speck of something which was soaring down, down, down. She lost it, seconds later as whatever it was struck the desert sand harmlessly. The rip closed upon itself and then dissipated into the inky purple sky. Desmond Edmund

There was always something about looking up at the stars that the DemiMeramon really liked. He couldn't tell you why but he certainly was very happy to be underneath those shiny little dots. Even if they were in the middle of the desert. Actually, the fireball did not mind it at all, in fact, he liked being out here alone with his tamer. The tamer that didn't really enjoy being there. Desmond was sitting next to his tiny partner that was stargazing in awe. A perk of having a fireball for a partner, you always had a source of heat and light. However, the days were hot and the nights were cold and the blond tamer didn't really like neither of those. But seeing Demi just so happy was enough to make him stay by his side. Good thing that he had several layers of clothing on him right now. He knew that he could open a Digi-Port back to Shibuya at any moments but the stars don't shine as much in the city.
"Look! Look!" The small Digimon shouted while pointing up. Desmond barely moved his head to see where Demi was pointing at. "Huh?" It has always been hard trying to see what the fireball wanted him to see. "This one is very bright!" The Frenchman squinted his eyes to get a better look. They were all shining brightly. "Yes, it is very bright." He said while still trying to pinpoint which of those was the one his partner was so eager for him to see. The DemiMeramon was waving his little arms in a circle and a broad smile could be seen on his face. "Did you see that one?" Desmond also smiled upon seeing how much joy there was in his expression. "Yes, I see that." He lied once more.
And then as they both looked at about the same spot, something unusual happened. It was like the stars moved away from each other creating a large gap into the dark night. Desmond and his partner's jaws both dropped a bit for the second that the sky seemingly got torn open. That was weird, even in the Digital world kind of weird. "Desmond! Desmond!" Demi shouted with his big eyes glued to that strange gap. "Look! Look!" This time, the blond tamer did not reply. He was very curious and even stood up instinctively. Then, something shiny came out of it and the stars moved back to their original positions.
It only took about two seconds before seeing the shooting star, for lack of a better term, grow bigger and bigger. Demi began tugging on his tamer's pants while frantically waving the whatever it was. He saw the thing fly by their heads and disappear somewhere a bit further away. "What was that?" The child Digimon asked. Desmond wasn't sure anymore. It didn't seem like it crashed down or anything, it was something just landed without any real impact. "Desmond?" The human didn't move at all. "Desmond!" The voice made him look down. "Uh..." Part of him really wanted to go take a closer look but it could be dangerous.
"Let's go see!" And without saying anything else, the DemiMeramon began floating away. Desmond would stay still for a second before moving as well. "Demi, wait..." He said softly but his partner did not respond. "Come! Come!" He shouted back. It wouldn't take very long for them to see something or someone on the sand a few meters away. "What is that?" The Digimon asked as him and his tamer came to a halt. "It... Is..." The Frenchman made careful steps toward that thing that fell from the sky. "A girl?" With that said, Demi quickly made his way closer and closer. "I think she is moving!" Desmond slowly went closer as well. "Demi..."
"Hi! I'm Demi!" He began shouting while poking her. "What are you?"

Yui had no idea, what was happening. All she knew was that she was falling and had been for a considerable amount of time or so it felt. It could have been a second, for all she knew. The calm star-strewn sky tore asunder, ripping open upon itself like a great, gaping maw. From within and then beyond the digital swirls of data, the girl fell, down, down into the world below. Fortunately for Yui, what lay below was an endless stretch of sand, ready to cushion her fall.
Yui laid back – strangely enough, she felt the grains of sand beneath her and between her fingers. Although, she didn’t smell the salt, which came along with the beach nor the sound of hungry, screeching birds overhead. It was very strange but she felt no inclination to move from the spot in which she had fallen. It was warm and rather pleasant. Peaceful, even.
Then, a voice drew close. No, it wasn’t a single voice, it was a pair of voices. They seemed to be walking towards her, perhaps, because she had fallen from the sky. That seemed logical. She was still a little dazed from the fall. Her thoughts were jumbled and her memory a little hazy. “Who’s there?” She called out to the voice, although she couldn’t see who it was. “Demi? That’s a funny name,” Yui said, as the someone began to poke her. “What am I? What does that mean?” Her brain starting to run quicker, and return to the realm of logic. “I’m a girl, what else?”
Slowly, Yui sat up and turned her head to the left. First, Yui’s eyes caught sight of a boy. Blond haired and with glasses. Reminded her of someone else. Just a little bit. This boy seemed awfully calm, considering she had fallen from the sky… or was that a dream? That also seemed logical. Who falls from the sky, unless you’re strapped to a parachute from a plane. “Oh, it's nice to nice to meet y--”
Yui cut herself off as she caught sight of the other speaker. This was in no way human, instead, they were what could only be described as a fireball, come to life. Screaming a little, mainly internally, Yui pushed herself away from the strange fireball monster, leaving long tracks in the sand. As soon as she was a considerable distance away, she spoke clearly and directly at the monster. “No, no, no, no, no. No. The question is, the logical question here, I mean. What are you?”

"Who's there? I'm Demi!" The child Digimon said out loud while giggling. He poked her once more and turned around to see Desmond who didn't look very impressed. He saw him shake his head as the fireball went for another poke but stopped before touching her. It was easy to see that his tamer didn't want him to poke her again. Demi then laughed a bit when the girl said that he had a funny name. To him, Desmond was a funnier name. In fact, most humans had funny names. The Digimon threw his arms into the air and shouted. "She speaks!" Hearing his partner say that made Desmond sigh. Well, now they knew she was alive. That's a good start.
"Desmond! She is a human!" Again, another sigh from the blond tamer. "Yes, I saw that." He said before walking so that he would be next to the fireball. As she began speaking once more, he could see that it was at that very moment that she saw Demi in front of her. The Digimon had a smile on his face, a very broad one. "Hi!" Desmond facepalmed seeing his partner way too happy and most likely not helping the girl at all. Both of them would wait for her to calm down before speaking. "It's okay." The Frenchman would say. "You are not in danger." It was the first time he saw someone fall from the sky but she wasn't the first human he met. And judging by her reaction, it was probably her first time in the Digital world.
"My name is Desmond, Desmond Edmund." The blond tamer didn't move from where he was standing to give her some personal space. "And I'm Demi!" The Digimon shouted his name again while giggling. "I'm a Digimon!" Desmond would look at his tiny partner and then back to the mysterious girl. He would wait a few seconds before clearing his voice. "You are in the Digital World." He would simply say. "Again, no need to panic. We won't hurt you." After saying that, he took two steps forward and extended his left hand for her to grab and pull her up if she wanted to. "Yes, you are in the middle of a desert." He knew that with every word he spoke, she might be that much confused. "Let me guess. Do you come from Shibuya?" That was the one thing every human he met so far had in common, they were all in Shibuya at some point.
Pausing to see if she would start panicking, Desmond would wait for a bit longer before speaking once more. "I do not know how you got here though. You are certainly the first that landed here that way. Well, the first that I saw." And he looked up for a moment and then around him. Most people he met had a Digivice on them, and sometimes with a Digimon partner. Maybe there was one nearby but he couldn't see any Digimon around them.
"Desmond! Ask for her name!" Demi would then shout from behind the man. The blond tamer looked behind him for a moment and then back at the girl who fell from the sky. It would be a good thing to know her name. He was just waiting for her to get used to seeing a living fireball smiling at them. "So yeah... Mind giving us your name?"

“Shibuya? Yes, that’s where I’m from.” Yui replied, simply, blinking confusedly up at Desmond. “How did you know that? Also, what is the ‘Digital World’? Sounds like a bad game to me” Yui was very confused and shaken by all of this. It was all so strange. Yui looked from Desmond to the strange fireball monster and decided to ignore it for now. It seemed like a good plan to focus on how she got here, at least for now. “Oh, my name is Yui,” she answered but only half-heartedly as she continued to ponder.
“Landed here that way?” Yui asked, tilting her head, a little to the side. “Oh right, I fell from up there.” She looked up at the blank, clear night sky which seemed to flicker on occasion as if it was made generated through a computer. Yui sat up in the sand, holding her head as she tried to remember how and why. “I was at school, and then...” Yui scrunched up her face, trying to remember what had happened. But, nothing came to mind, just an obscenely bright light. “There was this light and I was drawn towards it like it was pulling me. Then I was falling, that’s all…” She trailed off as another memory emerged from her subconscious. “Anna!”
Yui jumped up, causing a wave of sand to fall back into the girl-shaped pit she had caused upon arrival. “Have you seen another girl, a little shorter than me. Blond hair and speaks with a British accent? Really cute?” She asked, hurriedly. Anna was her fellow member of the Literature Appreciation Club at school, even though they hardly used the clubroom for the purpose, it was provided for. “I’m a little concerned that she could be here too? If that light, you know – drew me in? It could have done the same to Anna, right?!”

"Nice to meet you, Yui." Desmond said with a smile. "Yui!" Demi shouted her name as he threw his arms into the air. "Nice to meet you!" [/color]Desmond looked at Demi who was still smiling. "Can I give her a hug?" He would then ask before his tamer could say something. "You can ask her." The child Digimon would turn around to look at Yui. "Can I hug you?" He softly asked. "Don't worry, it won't burn you. And he asks for hugs from anyone we meet." The Frenchman would wait for her to accept or refuse the hug before speaking.
"Every human I've met came from Shibuya." He said while adjusting his glasses. "Not everyone entered the Digital World in the same way. Some came here from the station, some fell into the river. Those two are the most common I think." And he paused to look at his partner. "Demi and I got sucked into my laptop and ended up here, like you." Well, not exactly in the middle of a desert and certainly not falling from the sky. "Don't worry, we, or you as well, are not stuck in here. There are ways to go back to our world." The blond tamer paused once more and then looked up at the stars.
The Frenchman was about to say something when Yui screamed the name of Anna. Unfortunately, he did not know anyone with that name nor one that matched her description. If she too landed in the Digital world, it will be kind of hard finding her without any help. "Sorry, I don't think I met her..." And he went to scratch his chin. "But it is possible that she is in this world at this moment. It will just be difficult to find her, I'm sorry." His went to hide his hands into his pockets and stopped moving for a second. He took out his Digivice and suddenly got an idea. "Yui, do you happen to have something like that?" He said before showing her his green Digivice. "It's called a Digivice. Everyone seemed to have one as well, they all look different from each other."
"I know that mine sometimes act like a radar. It doesn't always do that but maybe if you have one too and that Anna has one too... Then maybe it could give us a clue." That was pretty much the only idea he could come up with. Desmond then pressed on the buttons of the little device just in case it would work. It would take a second but the small screen lit up and a small blue dot appeared. The blond tamer would then move the device around to see if the dot would stay in the same direction. And it looks like it did. "Well, good news." He then said as he turned his attention to the girl.
"I think we might have a clue here." And he showed her his Digivice once more. "See that dot? It is pointing at this direction. Last time it did that, It led me to someone with a Digivice. Maybe we could find Anna this way." It was worth a shot. Unless Yui had a better plan. While it was still night time, Demi and the stars above would give them enough light to travel safely. Desmond retracted his arm and held the device in front of him. "Do you want to give it a try? While there's no danger around right now, it did happen that some erm... Wilder Digimon could attack so I'll stay with you until we find Anna. I don't want to force you of having Demi and I around but I would feel terrible letting you on your own like this."
"So, would you like to join us?"

Yui took a large step backwards, away from the strange fireball monster. “I don’t think now is the right time for hugging. Not, when my friend could be in danger,” she said clearly, the tone of her voice becoming a lot more sedate. Desmond then continued to explain about this strange world and the ways, that others had managed to appear in it. All of which sounded rather insane, at least to Yui. Through a laptop, through a river. “I must have banged her head harder than she thought,” she muttered to herself. “But on the off chance, this place was real. She must concentrate on finding Anna.”
After a second of rummaging, Desmond held up the odd, little, green device. It was something like a mobile phone mixed with a television remote. “No. I have not seen anything like that before. However, if it can help us find Anna, I will be most grateful.” The device appeared to be able to locate other devices of similar design, therefore, it could be used to maybe find Anna if she had one of these devices. “Is it likely that Anna would have one of these… devices? I mean I don’t so, I’m not sure if Anna would either.” She paused in thought for just a second, considering what she was saying. It did make sense, but, then again, this was the best chance they had right now. She should let Desmond and the strange fire creature help her find Anna.
“I would like to give it a try. Let’s go find Anna,” she said, with a serious note to her voice. “Which way is it pointing?” It appeared to be pointing in the direction of some kind of settlement to the north. At least from what the primitive map was showing. So, the unlikely trio began to walk through the seemingly endless stretch of desert. “Is it likely for other creatures to appea-” she began to ask, but before she finished her sentence – the ground beneath her feet began to shake and move. The sand rose up around a great boulder which jutted out of the sand, like a grey tooth. Yui jumped back just in time to avoid being knocked over by the strange stone. “What in this world is that?” She questioned, but then the boulder rolled forward, almost unravelling itself. Stubby arms and legs made from rock, emerged from within, folding outwards.
“Gotsumon,” the rock said, twisting his rocky neck from side-to-side. “This is my domain, from that rock-” he pointed at an odd tan boulder in the distance and then to patch of sand. “to that sand dune, no wait, that sand dune.” His arm moved a little, mistakenly. “Anyway, you can’t pass without beating me or… the girl gets it!”

Demi was a bit sad that he didn't get to hug the girl. It was easy to see that Yui was very concerned about finding Anna as soon as possible. Desmond wanted to hear that she too had a Digivice but no, it wasn't the case. That makes things a bit more complicated but luckily, his own Digivice seemed to be working. The blond tamer pointed his Digivice to the north to make sure that it was really that way and after a second of slightly moving the device left and right. He looked in from of him and then back to the tiny blue dot no the screen for a short second. "I guess we are going north then." He then said before looking at the girl and nodding. Taking a last glance at around them, the Frenchman would signal Yui and to his little partner to follow him.
When Yui jumped back, Desmond looked back and saw the strange rock-like Digimon come out from underneath her. His first reaction was also to take a step backward and the DemiMeramon went to hide behind his long legs. As the Gotsumon began to speak about them being in his domain, Desmond's left eyebrow lifted a bit. He slowly turned his head to the right to look at the direction of the rock he was speaking about and then left at the sand dune. To be fair, all the sand dunes looked the same to him so he had a feeling that the Digimon was not telling the truth. "Uh..." The blond tamer took a step forward to better see if Yui was alright. Demi stayed behind for a moment before floating back to be next to this tamer.
"We do not want to fight you." Desmond then said with a stern voice. He waited for a second for the words to sink into the Gotsumon. "We are sorry that we are in your... Domain." The Frenchman was still like a statue and it was easy to see that he was very serious right now. "We will get out of your domain right now." With his eyes glued on the Digimon, he motioned to Yui to come to him. Demi has rarely seen his tamer that serious and he wasn't sure how to react.
The Gotsumon was now pretty angry that Desmond did not seem to scare of him at all. "Hey! Don't you dare go away like that!" He shouted quite angrily. He made heavy steps toward the blond and realized how taller the human was compared to him. "I challenge... You!" And he pointed to the DemiMeramon who looked a bit nervous. The Frenchman moved his leg to create a wall between the wild Digimon and his partner. "Please, we do not want to..."
"I know what you said! And I do not care about it!" Desmond sighed heavily. "Can we settle it peacefully?" The human was trying to stay as calm as possible really hoping that the Gotsumon would back down. "You!" And he kept pointing at Demi. "Rock, paper, scissors! Now!" The blond tamer couldn't believe what he just heard. "You mean..." The wild Digimon quickly interrupted him. "I said now!" Demi was now very confused. "Desmond? What is rock, paper, scissors?" He asked innocently. "Just give us a second there, erm... Gotsumon." And he crouched down and went to speak to Demi. "It's a game. You either make a fist for rock, open hand for paper and two fingers our for scissors." Demi began moving his hand trying different stances. "Rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper and paper beats rock." A short second of silence. "But he is made of rock." Demi then said while pointing at the Gotsumon. "Doesn't matter..." Desmond then replied. "Just do whatever."
"Stop talking! I challenge you!" And the Gotsumon tried to push Desmond aside to face the DemiMeramon. "Now!" And he closed his fist to make rock and Demi opened his hand to make paper. "That didn't count!" Demi was now very confused. "Again! Now!" And rock again. Demi didn't even move his hand. "Arg! Best out of three!" Same result, rock against paper. "Hey, you are cheating!" Desmond sighed. "Please, can we go now?" He asked a bit annoyed now.
"No!" The Gotsumon shouted before turning around to face Yui. "You! The girl! I challenge you!" By now Desmond was facepalming. "This is getting stupid." The rock-like Digimon didn't even pay attention to the blond and his partner anymore. "Now!"

Yui shook her head, partially in annoyance, thanks to the interference of the strange rock monster. “Look, we don’t have time to play around with you. We need to go.” Yui stepped forward but it seemed that her traveling partners were going to be more accommodating to the rock monster’s odd demands. At least, the little fire monster was. Once the game was explained to him, at least. Yui watched the pair with part interest and part irritation as they began to play. The rock monster continued to play the same ‘hand’ in the game, much to Demi’s confusion.
Again, and again, the rock monster played rock instead of picking from paper and scissors as well, but this was good. Maybe if they won, I'd give up and leave them alone and then she could go and find Anna. After all, with all these strange monsters wandering around wherever she landed – who knows what was going to happen to the poor girl. She was quite timid but also quite adventurous… Either way, she could easily find her way into danger.
She was concentrating on this thought so hard, she failed to notice that the Gotsumon had turned to face Yui instead. “Hey, girl. Did you hear me!” The rock monster called up to her. "Listen to me!!" She continued to inadvertently ignore it. Desmond was getting just as annoyed with the situation as she had been getting but the rock-brained moron didn’t seem to care. “Huh,” Yui said, looking down at the little rock man. “What now? Can’t we just pass? I don’t want to play these games anymore. We’re bus-”
Yui didn’t get a chance to finish her sentence as the Gotsumon spoke over her. Its voice was now clearly brimming with annoyance and anger, first from losing the game and then from being ignored. “Rock Fist!!!” It held its arms up and before she could react, the Gotsumon fired out a barrage of tiny, but very sharp rocks flew at Yui.

Desmond looked up at the night sky for a second and sighed. To him, that was a total waste of time. But then, at least that Gotsumon didn't try to attack him physically. For now. When he heard Yui telling them that they didn't have time to play anymore, the body tamer lowered his head and looked at Yui and the rock Digimon. Not only was he stubborn, but he was also very loud. the human took a few steps toward the two of them while the DemiMeramon was still there with his hand open clearly not understanding what was going on. The little fireball attention kept jumping from his tamer to the girl and back and forth.
The Frenchman was about to put a hand on Yui's shoulder as she told the Digimon that they were busy. "Yes, we are..." And then he heard the Gotsumon scream something and saw his arms go up. Desmond barely had time to react but his instincts made him pull Yui toward him but maybe with too much strength in it. She might have lost balance due to the sudden pulling but fortunately, it was sand underneath them. If she were to fall, the tamer would jump between the girl and the Gotsumon to act as a human shield. "Oh, now you are listening!" The rock Digimon said clearly very angry. "I told you! I challenge you!"
And as he said that a small fireball hit the back of his head doing nothing but annoy him. The wild Digimon quickly turned around and saw Demi with an angry face. "Hey! I wasn't talking to you, so scram!" He yelled to the fireball and he lifted his arms into the air once more. “Rock Fist..." Before he could finish his phrase, Desmond moved and kicked the Gotsumon on the back. However, being made of rock, the kick didn't do much if anything at all. In fact, it was Desmond that felt the pain on his foot. Not his brightest idea. "Ow!" He yelped before taking a step back.
The Gotsumon didn't know which one to face anymore. Both the tamer and his partner were nuisances, nothing more. The wild Digimon turned around once more and began shouting. “Rock Fist..." And he then felt a ball of fire hit him behind the head making him jump a bit and then turn around once more. "Stop that!" He yelled irritatingly. "Do that one more time and I'll..." Another thing bounces off his head from the other side. He saw a small shadow hit the sand and looked down to see what it was. It was a shoe, Desmond's shoe to be exact. He looked up at the Frenchman who was holding his other shoe in his left hand.
"Arg! Stop doing that!" By now, the Gotsumon was furious. "I swear I'm going to..." And one more fireball from behind him. This time, he didn't even flinch. He just stood there closing his hands into fists and then lifted them up in the air and yelled out in rage. "Stop that! Both of you!" He began stomping the sand around him while shouting bad words. He would do so for a while before giving up. "Arg! You know what? Screw you! All of you!" He shouted while looking at the two humans. "Get out of my domain! Now!" Desmond didn't move nor did Demi for a second. The two looked at each other and then Desmond slowly glanced behind him to see if Yui was alright. "Let's go..." He half whispered.
Desmond, with his show in hand, went to get his other shoe back and hold them in his hands for now. "Come Demi..." The little fireball nodded and waved to the rock Digimon. "Get out!" And with that, the three of them made their way out of his domain, or whatever it was. "Are you alright?" The blond tamer would ask after making sure that the Gotsumon wasn't following them. He would put his shoes back on before taking a deep breath and taking out his Digivice. "Sorry about all that..." He apologized. "Do you need a minute or two?" He would then ask to be sure that she wasn't too confused by whatever just happened here.

The flurry of rock flew directly at Yui, but just in the nick of time. The girl was pulled to the side and away from any harm, but perhaps a little too hard, as she fell to the ground. “Ouch,” she said, “That wasn’t nice.” The little fireball was shooting little fireballs at the Gotsumon but it appeared to be doing little to the rock-brained boulder. However, before his next attack came, Desmond kicked the rock in the back, before reeling back in pain.
It was clear that the rock monster was furious now. Even more so, as the fireballs and then, a pair of shoes flew at him. But, all of the interference was stopping him retaliating further. Yui looked on with confusion etched over her face, still sitting in the sand. After another round, the Gotsumon stomped in the sand before ordering them to leave!
It took Yui a second to find her feet after all of that and then another minute to get herself moving, away from ‘Gotsumon’s domain.’ The rock monster continued to stomp and scream even as they left his domain and was still audible even several meters ahead. “A-are they all like that? Or just the strange rock ones?” Yui asked Desmond, trying to catch her breath. She was beginning to wonder what kind of world she had fallen into and more so if Anna was going to be okay. Anna wasn’t so… together. She was a little scatterbrained but in a sweet sort of way. She was worried she was going to end up meeting something insane, like a giant dinosaur, that would cause some real trouble for the poor girl.
“I’ll be fine. Let’s just go to that town in the distance. I’m sure that’ll be safer, right?” Yui said, assuming that a town would be at least somewhat more civilized than the strange wild rock monsters. “Say, there isn’t big dinosaur monsters are there?” She asked with a mixture of interest and a fresh wave of worry for Anna’s safety as they walked towards the town. “I’m just a little worried for my friend… This world seems very dangerous and I’d hate for anything to happen to her. She’s like a sister to me.”

Desmond looked at his Digivice and then at Yui as she was trying to catch her breath. He would wait for a few seconds before answering her question. "They aren't, no." He simply said. "Like humans, Digimons are very different from one to another." That was pretty much the best way he could say it. "I did meet some more, erm, polite ones." However, most of them weren't that nice but he didn't want the girl to think that everything was here to kill them. "Somes like Demi, are quite kind. Most partners I saw are that way, genuinely good in their heart." And he looked down to see his own partner that was now practicing rock, paper, scissors by himself. That made the blond tamer smile and even chuckle a bit.
"It should be safer, yes." Desmond would wait for Yui to start moving before walking next to her with his Digivice in hand. "I have never been this far but if there's a town, I think that they won't be erm... Dangerous." He was trying to find a better term but couldn't. And then, Yui asked him about dinosaurs. The Frenchman sighed before talking. "I'm afraid that there's some Digimon that looks like dinosaurs." He would say as he turned his head to look at her. "There's all sort of Digimon, some are rather hard to describe without seeing it by yourself." He used his free hand to point at Demi. "If I told you that I was traveling with a living fireball, would you have believed me without seeing him?" And he knew that Demi and he only saw a tiny bit of what Digimon there is in this world. Upon seeing his tamer point at him, the DemiMeramon went to hug his leg.
The blond tamer could understand that she was worried. He too would have been so in her shoes. "This world is quite big, unfortunately for us. I don't know if..." And he stopped mid-sentence and bit his lower lip. "I mean, there's a possibility that she could be around..." It was clear that Desmond was trying to hide something. To be fair, he wasn't really sure if that friend of hers would be where they were going to. He still didn't see a real pattern on where the humans land in the Digital world. The girl she was so worried about could be anywhere. The blond tamer looked away for a moment and then sighed. It might be best to not let her know that right away.
"We should be close now." Desmond then said before looking at the horizon. There was something that was emitting light into the night sky. That was most likely a sign of a town or a gathering spot. Lifting his Digivice to take a proper look at the screen and the small blue dot, the blond nodded. The dot was indeed pointing to that direction. He then lowered his hand before looking at Yui. "Still alright?" He asked to make sure. "The town should be right ahead." Desmond deeply wished that they will find the girl Yui was looking for there. He had to trust his Digivice like he did many times before. He at least hoped that they will find a clue or something. He smiled at Yui for a moment. "We'll find her." He said while trying to keep his smile. It was best to keep their morale up.

Desmond confirmed that the dot on his strange little device was indeed inside the town that lay just over the horizon. “I hope so,” Yui said, walking ahead of the other two – her face calm and serious. “I’m fine, I just want to find Anna.” She muttered, more to herself than to Desmond or his curious, little fireball of a partner. “Let’s get going.”
They walked and walked until the town was visible and close. A clear ramshackle of a town. It looked like it had only been recently built but out of spare parts. In an anything would do, sort of way. It worked. Many of the houses and buildings were made from scrap metal, wood, and other bits and bobs. As she had expected, by this point the streets were lined with more of those strange monsters. Small and large, rounded, robotic, bug-like, giants birds, and even one which looked like a part bird and part bush. Very odd indeed. This entire world was just… the strangest of the strange for the sake of being strange… or so it felt.
Yui walked on ahead, excited now. She might be able to find Anna after all! She might be here. After all the strange little device had pointed them here. That was a sign, right? As Yui entered the town - she was nearly knocked, again, to the ground, by a Digimon standing by the gates. “Hey, watch yourself!”
Steadying herself, Yui looked across at whatever she had crashed into and found another odd creature. This one was the deepest of greens, flat-faced and stupid looking. A large club was clutched in his left hand, with what appeared to be metallic screws sticking out from it. Supposedly for extra oomph. “No, you get out my way,” Yui snapped back, finally losing her temper. “I want to find my friend, get out of my way.”
The Shamamon stomped his feet in anger, performing something of a tribal dance of anger as he did so. Swinging the club over his head, around and around. “No-one talks to me like that, nobody. Well, my mama did but shut up! I’ma knock you flat.”
All of a sudden, like a bolt of lightning something flashed past the goblin-like creature. The club flew from his hand and then fell to the ground, several feet away. “How about you watch yourself?” a soft purring voice flowed down to them, as calm as anything before fading away. “What was that?” Yui asked Desmond as whatever the flash of white had been, it had vanished as quickly as it had appeared.

Desmond a bit behind Yui that seemed to have a new burst of energy upon reaching the gate of Rustport Town. The blond tamer would stop moving to check his little device. They were at the right place for sure, the dot even got slightly bigger. He took a few steps and then, something happened. The blue dot stopped beeping and the screen went black. The blond tamer was confused now, it was strange that it suddenly disappeared. He began pressing one of the buttons and a dot, this time yellow appeared on the screen. The dot was pointing straight ahead and then, it moved a bit on the left for a second, stop and then move again. Whatever the Digivice was pointing to, it was now moving. Or something, he still had little information on how that works. Neither the less, he slowly looked up and saw Yui bump into a Shamamon that did look quite angry at her.
The Frenchman sprinted toward her but the goblin-like Digimon lift his club into the air and was about to strike down. He barely had time to reach Yui when the bolt of lightning hit the club sending it flying. Desmond instantly crouched down in case that it would go flying at their direction. Luckily, it did not. "Are you alright?" He asked the girl before helping her to stand up. Demi would arrive shortly after and look around him. The place was indeed strange but it had a certain sense of home in it. Maybe it was because there were so many different Digimon that looked like to be living together in peace. Some of them looked at the new strangers for a moment before going back to doing whatever they were doing.
The Shamamon looked nervous now that he was weaponless. He looked at them three before taking a few steps back and then run to his club now to run away after getting it. Desmond took a deep breath, whatever shot that bolt of lightning might have saved them from any trouble that Digimon could have caused. When Yui asked him what was that, the blond tamer shook his head. He had absolutely no clue. "I... Don't know..." He admitted. Looking at the DemiMeramon that was still looking around in awe, Desmond began looking around for clues as well. It didn't seem that what just happened was out of the ordinary. Everyone just kept moving around ignoring them completely.
Desmond then looked at his Digivice. The yellow dot moved again. Again, moving it around to make sure that it would always point in the same direction, the blond tamer showed it to Yui. "I think we should follow the dot." He slowly suggested. "It got us here so maybe it will get us closer to finding Anna..." The human stopped talking before lifting his eyes and look at the various sign around them. Unfortunately, it was written in a strange language. Nothing like French, English or Japanese. He wasn't sure what he was looking for exactly. He sighed heavily and shrugged. "We could also ask around... If Anna is here, surely one of them would have noticed a human walking around." After all, they weren't exactly common in the Digital world.
Taking another quick glance at the little device, he saw that the dot was now pointing toward some kind of small house made of everything that was laying around. "Demi?" He softly said his name. The DemiMeramon would stopped spinning on himself and made his way toward Desmond and tug on his pants to tell him that he was there. "Can you read this?" Desmond pointed at the sign above the door. Demi would look at the sign for a few seconds before shaking his head looking sad that he couldn't help. "It's okay, Demi." The blond tamer would crouch down and pick up his partner in one arm. "My Digivice is pointing at that place... We could start there."

The oversized goblin looked a little more anxious with his weapon, several feet away. If his face hadn’t already been green, she’d have expected it’d be a little more so in the face of whatever had effortlessly knocked away his club. The goblin took a step back and then ran to his fallen club, picked it up with so much care, it was almost like it was his child, before running away.
With that done, they were free to get back to what they had been doing, searching for Anna. Standing on her tiptoes allowed her to see above the head of the strange monsters, but no blond hair stood out in the crowd. “Aww, I can’t see her,” she muttered, despondently. “Although, knowing Anna, she’d be...” she cut herself off as her face curled into a smile. Anna was the kind of girl who’d be in the thick of it, enjoying herself and mingling with all these monsters, even though they were bizarre.
Desmond’s weird little device thing appeared to be pointing them towards a large tavern which like most of the other houses and buildings, had been built from all manner of scrap. “So, that one, huh. Let’s go in. Come on.” Without waiting for Desmond, she walked through the doors and right to the bar. “Excuse me. Have you seen...” The barkeep was can only be described as an oversized, silver star except with limbs coming from behind the star and large blue eyes blinking back at her. “Uh, have you seen a girl about my age? Except with blond hair,” she asked very quickly. “No siree. I have no be seeing no girl about yo’ age with blonder hair.”
Yui sighed, dejectedly and turned away. “ Al 'though, you can always ask the ‘boss’. He might know a thing or two.” Yui turned with interest to face the Starmon. “The boss? Who’s that?”
“Oh righty, you’re from not around here, are ya’? The mon with the beard,” he explained, pointing to the very back of the bar. “Oh, thanks so much,” she bowed her head and moved on. However, as she did two familiar Digimon were barging their way through the door. With a single thwack, a club smacked the tiny fireball Digimon across the room, like he was a baseball. The two approached, revealing themselves as the rock monster as well as the goblin creature. “Desmond,” Yui said. “We’ve got trouble, I think.”
