March was a busy time of the year for Chenjin. He had his end of school year finals to study for and take, and he went on a trip back to Whitewater to visit his parents, and let them know how his first year at school had gone for him. Between all of this, Chenjin had very little time for fun and games, and even socialization.
But now all of that was over. He had returned back to the human world after an exhausting trip, and he had passed all of his finals and got the highest score in the class, stumping absolutely everyone as to how he did it. Taking a breath of relief, Chenjin decided to spend the rest of the break in his Digimon form just curled up into his dorm room, resting. He definitely deserved it, he thought.
However, about a half hour into Chenjin's first nap of the end-of-year break, there was a sudden knocking at his dorm room door. This scared the little Digimon half to death, evident by the loud yelp he made when the sudden knocking occurred. After calming down a bit, Chenjin activated his holosuit and went to answer the door. "Hello?"
Standing in front of him was another human, seemingly Chenjin's "age." The human had purple hair that went all the way down to his neck, and he was wearing a white T-Shirt with a light purple long-sleeve shirt underneath, black jeans and white sneakers. The human looked very nervous as well, as he didn't seem to know just what anything was. Nonetheless, the boy still competently initiated conversation with Chenjin.
"Konichiwa. My name is Yamashita Hansuke, and I am going to be a first year here at the school in a few weeks. The principal said that this was going to be my room. Do you happen to be Takada Chenjin, by any chance? If you are, we're supposed to be roommates."
"Uh... yep! Yes, that is indeed me," Chenjin replied in his usual happy tone. Hansuke did not seem to be impressed by it though.
"Oh god, you're one of those optimistic types, aren't you?" Hansuke asked in a disappointing tone before walking into the dorm room, shutting the door on his way in. Ever since Hansuke arrived, Chenjin had a weird feeling about him. It was the same feeling he felt before meeting Justice and his partners, and as well as meeting Leith. Could that mean...?
"Oh by the way," Hansuke interrupted Chenjin's thinking as he set his stuff down on the spare bed, "you can drop the human act. I know that you're a Digimon just like me."
"W-What?!" The red-haired boy gasped, completely taken aback. "How did you know!?"
"Unless the Digimon is using DRM, it's incredibly easy for Digimon to sense each other," Hansuke simply replied. "Have you been in the human world long? How have you not learned this by this point?"
"W-Well... Well, I um... uh... *sigh* I don't have an excuse for that," Chenjin admitted, looking down at the floor in both shame and defeat.
"Well, at least you know now. So what kind of Digimon are you anyways?" Immediately after asking that, Hansuke turned off his own holosuit and revealed his true form: a Dorumon, a purple furred Digimon with white forearms and feet, a white muzzle, yellow eyes, black wings and a big red gem in his forehead. "I myself happen to be a Dorumon."
"Oh!" After Hansuke deactivated his holosuit, Chenjin deactivated his own, turning back into his original form and extending a claw out to the Dorumon as well, expecting a handshake. "I'm a Gatchmon! It's nice to meet you, Hansuke!"
Before Chenjin even realized what was happening, Hansuke immediately bit Chenjin's claw. There was a few seconds of silence before Chenjin yelled and began waving his arm around rapidly, although Hansuke was still holding on tight. "AAAAAAAH! LET GO LET GO LET GO!!!"
Confused, Hansuke did release his mouth and stopped biting Chenjin's hand. "What's wrong? That's how I greet people!"
"Huh... interesting way to greet someone. I like you! Wanna be friends?"
"Friends?! We literally just met!"
"So? What does that matter?"
"Ugh, this is gonna be a looooong year..."
