”... and thats why I have that demon spider on my death list. If slash when I see her again… she’s dinner.” the gem-encrusted gorgon Digimon muttered scornfully to herself as she slithered across the barren and broken landscape… The Dark Area. It certainly deserved its name; the land itself echoing the rolling hills of the Digital Core but twisted into a perverse mockery of the Digital World. The perfect backdrop for her current mood… which was right now general bitterness and irritation for the world around her.
Good thing she was not alone. Misery loved company after all. As it turned out, one of Wakako’s favorite pasttimes was venting with Mae about their own frustrations and problems with the world around them… As odd it sounded, being angry with someone like this was a great way to let out stress and had been a great boon for the young Spirit Wielder’s own sanity. Being able to just let your feelings out with someone you cared about… it was paradoxically good-feeling in a way.
Needless to say, the Villiaummon despite her intimidating persona was merely a sort of… guise to vent. It was probably the most rowdy of Wakako’s forms and lended to her emotions being more venomous in-nature, but this metaphoric venom was the perfect way to just mellow out and talk about all the garbage that had happened to them. Wakako was right now recounting the tale of when a bit ago she got her two newest spirits… the taunting words of the Infermon ringing in her head. ”... God. I hate it. I hate that she got away. I thought karma was supposed to be a god damn thing.” the beast hybrid scornfully spoke to her sister as she slithered, shaking her head dismissively.

"...That person sounds like someone I've seen in my visions before. Also, an asshole. Hell, I don't even think it's a person." The cat murmured. There was no combination of words that could describe how much she loathed the memories she had of the Dark Area. Considering the last time she visited, her face got mauled off?
Can't really blame her. "Honestly, why do bad things have to always happen to good people?" The Meicrackmon growled as she kept pace with the gorgon. "Feels like we're being tormented by entities that want us solely to suffer sometimes. Though, think of it this way. If she has the stones to back up those words? You can kill her then and there because she's the idiot that tried to kill Wakako Mozume twice. And already failed the first time."
The cat put on a wry grin! "Though, that's just my thoughts. Really, the only thing to not take with some salt is the need to snap it's neck."

"Ah a wonderful day, I have a good feeling about today." John said out load as he walked along the river his partner in his backpack in her small Viximon form, Runa flipped though his notebook looking at his sketches. "Your in high spirits today, anything particular bring this upon?" She asked as she looked at a poorly drawn bed of flowers.
John shrugged, "I don't know, I guess I'm just doing things, getting out more. We never once went to the digital world in December, but now we're going more frequently. In the past we've gone to places that Uncle Danial told us about, but today I'm feeling like going to somewhere random." He said as he stopped in the middle of the path, facing the river.
Runa made sure that no one was around before popping her head out of the backpack, a look of concern on her face. "Really, you're using the river portal? You do remember the last time you used it, or rather you fell into, right?" She asked, John waving his hand. "It's gonna be fine, I'm feeling lucky today."
John pulled out his digivice and made sure that no one was around before activating the portal. "And besides, what's the worse that could happen?" He asked as he stepped through the portal.
As he exited on the other side, he instantly felt a sense of unease, Runa feeling the same. Before them was nothing but a vast desert, but the sand felt unnatural, the lack of sunlight was unnerving as they could see clearly do too some other source. Having second thoughts, John turned to go back through the portal, but was too late as it closed on him.
"This place feels...Wrong, Runa have you ever been here before?" He asked her, turning to his backpack, She took in her surroundings, trying to see if she recognized anything, shaking her head. "No I've never been to a place like this before, although I have a guess..."
As she pondered their predicament, John noticed two digimon heading towards them, he decided to carefully walk towards them to greet the digimon, Runa hopped out of the bag to land next to him, looking calm but ready to throw down if need be. "Hey, my names John, how are you two? I just took a random portal to this place, and I was wondering where we are, can you tell us?"

An asshole. Yeah, that was an understatement. Any creature malicious enough to ruin the lives of innocent people for what Wakako could only deduce as pure sadism or hunger was an abomination on this world… While her methods were pragmatic at times, the girl had a strong sense of justice and desire to do good. Even amidst the suffering she had experienced, she had never stooped to that same level of apathy. ”Good people get punished for doing the right thing all the time, yet the bad guys get away scotch-free… but mark my words Mae. I want to change this sick, twisted world.” the Villiaummon spoke in a somber voice as she idly glanced at the fem manticore waltzing by her side.
”Oh trust me, I’d love to wring her neck… but her damn head popped off and slithered away. Not going to make that mistake twice.” the beast hybrid mused at her sister’s gleeful thoughts on the matter. While she did need to watch her back from now (that fiend was a dangerous enemy), a little humor did relieve some tension… as morbid of humor as it was. ”Maybe I should see if I can get ahold of her alive… In case you wanna have a go at her? Heck. Maybe their Mega is a dragon Digimon… Then it’ll be a shoe-in calling in Mae the Dragonslayer to save the day.” the serpentess cackled impishy… a delightful idea as unlikely as it was.
Such revelry in malice directed towards their enemies soon faded though as the Villiaummon’s eyes dilated at a peculiar individual… a human teenager who to be honest looked very out of place here in the Dark Area. More questionably was as they approached her and Mae, the lamia squinting skeptically at his statement. ”What kinda person just takes random portals all willy-nilly… doesn’t Shibuya have a Trailmon Station?” the Spirit Wielder asked as she scowled reflexively… Her human-like mouth was only a part of a more monstrous maw, though she was careful enough not to try and appear aggressive… she was more just confused at their logic. ”Ugh… Well, you are in the Dark Area; the digital dumpster of the Digital World. The only things that live here are those tough enough to endure it, or the hellspawn born here.”
It was only then did Wakako’s expression shift to a more awkward look… actually briefly twiddling her claws as she glanced at Mae. ”Err… No offense. You’re my favorite hellspawn.”

"Then ye shant be alone in this endeavor." The Meicrackmon added, simply, her voice taking on that mechanical inflection that her Vicious Mode was...probably known for at this point. Though, she had a very sour bit of news to add on the front that maybe the spider turned into a dragon. "Infermon don't usually become anything draconic, so I wouldn't count on adding yet another dragon to my list of dead scaly shitheads. Plus...It's not my business, I think. If she comes at you and I'm there, you can bet that I'll take a stab at her. Otherwise, this one's all yours to break."
That train of thought was interrupted by someone approaching them. Someone that Mae not only immediately recognized as they introduced themselves, but also filled her with incoherent rage. Not because they did anything bad, mind, but because they were for the lack of any better term, being fucking morons. "...I specifically tell you to not be an idiot and you go and do just that. Did you get dropped on your head as a child, John? Runa, did he? Why would you go through the portal that deposits you in potentially life-threatening places instead of the Trailmon station so you can at least plan out where to go? Holy mother of-..." A pause.
Mae then glanced at Wakako. "None taken."

John and Runa was taken aback at Mae's outburst, they both took a step back and just stared back at her for a moment as they both possessed her words.
John's thoughts:"... Oh it's Mae again, awesome, yelling a bit more then usual, at least I think that's yelling? Anyway it'd be nice to... Wait, where did that other digimon say we where?"
Runa's thoughts: "So, Mae's grown in forms last time I saw her, and she seems to have inherited some things from her dad. Now while Mae has thoroughly roasted John, her friend also unfortunately confirmed my fears."
John's eye's widened as he registered Wakako's explanation of the current location, when it hit him he began to do what made to most sense to his brain, he rambled. "Oh, oh no, no no no, we weren't supposed to come here yet, we where gonna get stronger first before this! The possibility of appearing here never crossed my mind, okay it's official, I'm never taking the river again."
John hurriedly pulled out his phone to try and call his uncle, while he did Runa took a moment to talk to Mae, "As far as I know he hasn't, although that might be because he doesn't remember it, because he was hit on the head but who knows anyway. It's good to see you again by the way, who's your friend there?"
No matter what John tried, all got on his phone was static. "Okay what, why isn't it- oh of course, phones don't work here, I forgot." He sighed as he rubbed his eye's, then kneeling down to Runa, "I'm sorry, I should have listened to you and not gone through the portal, I broke our deal and put the both of us in unknown danger."
Runa looked at him for a moment and gave him a reassuring smile. "It's alright, I forgive you, just from now on leave choosing the destinations to me, aright?" John chuckled and nodded, getting back up as Runa hopped into his backpack.
As he stood up strait, John turned to Mae, "I owe you an apology as well, Mae, I made a mistake after you warned me, and it's a pretty big one too, I am sorry." he bowed apologetically, hopping she would accept it.

Honestly, it was probably likely that this new foe of hers was going to be crafty... Strike when she was alone to minimize any chance of things going awry. The Villiaummon made a slight sound off irritation despite smiling; chuckling at her sister's dark sense of humor... something they both surprisingly shared. "Well, I'm not worried... She'll get her just-desserts soon enough unless she is wise to not mess with us ever again." the temptress mused.
While Wakako didn't know who this guy was, Mae appeared to be familiar surprisingly... more so since the Meicrackmon actually appeared ticked off that he was here. How oddly heartwarming despite the slight sass being thrown around by the Digimon, the Beast hybrid eyeing the Viximon curiously. "In retrospect, probably a bit like beating a dead horse at this point; however it is I suppose a good thing the first two individuals you meet aren't ones who'd probably think you both are a delicious meal. I mean, I try to limit my intake to bastardous scum personally." the Villiaummon mused, glancing at Mae briefly. "So wait... You know these two? John... Wasn't that the guy you said you dated a bit ago?"
Well, regardless... It is a good thing these two were safe. Wakako was a tad irked that they sorta just jumped into danger all willy-nilly, but at least no one got hurt. She eyed John trying to fiddle with his phone (gee, was it really that surprising that a standard connection wasn't really gonna work here), tilting her head in mild disinterest until Runa seemed to ask who she was. "I'm Mae's sister; Wakako Mozume specifically. Your names are John and Runa I presume...? New-ish to the whole Digital World thing I guess?"

Mae offered a nod to Wakako. Nothing more to say on the matter considering there were smaller fish to fry.
"Yeah, of course they don't. Keep your D-Terminal handy, dingus." If Runa could feel things like that? She'd likely be able to ascertain that Mae could grow further in forms, yet...something was keeping her from that. "I mean, I limit my own intake to dragons. And bad people. Granted, the...last time I ate anyone it scarred some kids for life."
Nevermind that. "Just don't take the river anymore, geez. And yeah, this is the guy. Granted, I don't remember much of the date." Thanks, vodka.
"And yeah, they're new. Very new."

John sighed in relief, figuring that was her accepting his apology and straitened back up. He chuckled at Mae's comment about not remembering much of that night. "Yeah I'm not surprised there, you really went to town on that bottle. It was a fun night, admittedly I was really nervous at first, but overall it was a nice evening."
Runa shifted John's stuff in his backpack, a smirk growing on her face. "So when's the next one, eh John?" This made him jump a bit, and in reflex bap Runa on the head with a slight tint of red on his cheeks. Runa covered her head with her paws, obviously pleased with the reaction she got, John rubbed his eyes before trying to change the subject.
"Yeah, like Mae said I'm new to this world, about 5 or 6 months ago I moved to Shibuya, and I've been settling in gradually, I haven't spent that much time exploring this place but I'm thinking that's due to old habits back in the USA." Runa had been on high alert as John talked, keeping an eye on their surroundings, she wanted to make sure no one would try and get the drop on them.
"I spent my time as a Reremon in the digital world going from city to city, it was after I became a Viximon that I went to the real world, then a month later I ran into this idiot and we've been partners ever since." While Runa continued on that, John was curious as to what a D-terminal was. "What's a D-terminal, I don't know if I have that or not?"
In the distance, a man was walking towards the group, he was dressed in a brown trench coat, purple striped suit and gloves, brown fedora with a purple stripe, and a white mask with black inkblots, his breaths had a crackle effect to them, like a old record player. Next to him was a little Mirrormon, who was looking really nervous, his eye's where darting all over the place.
