The skies themselves were a very strange place for Mae to be setting foot upon. Yet, she had managed to secure passage here. People thought she had actually been a bit out of her mind for wanting to see what it was like up here. Yet, she had to do something to pass the time after everything that had occurred. The incineration of the forest. The whole...hell that was. The mess.
It was quiet. But it was also bright. It kind of...hurt a bit? Like it hurt her eyes. The Meicrackmon had been walking atop some solid ground for some time, and she took a brief pause to view Luminas in the distance.
Was that really the city that so many dreaded? In this place full of gems, trees, peace?
"Talk about a gilded cage, huh..." The cat murmured quietly, before she continued on her way. What exactly would she find?

A shadow lurked over Mae from the sky high above... just nearly perceptible for someone to catch. Quick enough to perhaps react though...? Debatable if you weren't a future-seeing cat. If Mae were quick enough, she'd be able to leap out of the way of white-feathered (or are they furred?) individual crash-landing right by her... quite painfully it seemed too.
It was a Hippogriffomon... the chimeric beast Digimon somewhat dazily managing to stand up as she glanced around her surroundings... noticing Mae and immediately beginning to apologize profusely. "Oh god... I am SO sorry! I wasn't looking really where I was going a-and one thing led to another!" the mythical beast exclaimed, shaking their avian-head rapidly. "I-I am not at all good at this flying thing, so I apologize! I-I just need to hurry though... a friend needs me!"
From the way they were speaking, the Ultimate level looked distraught... Very much so. As if their life depended on it... question is, why though?

In a strange moment, Mae's foresight finally reawakened. It showed her a Hippogriffomon crashing into her, and the Meicrackmon was able to quite literally jump in the nick of time to avoid a tragic accident. Yet, it was tragic anyways, as the beast just crashed and burned quite painfully.
The Meicrackmon landed and quickly went to help the beast up. "I-It's fine, um, I only just...barely saw you coming...Are you okay? I know birds have hollow bones but I don't know if you're full bird or not but also you seem kind of distraught..." Wait, a friend needed them? "Do you need any help? I-I'll run with you to help your friend. What's wrong?"

It was fortunate no one else got hurt besides herself... The Hippogriffomon was dazed and a bit battered, but adrenaline and the desire for justice was able to keep her going. "Its not too bad. I am like 50% horse I think." the avian-like Digimon mused before shaking their head. A bit bird-brained? Yes, very.
The Ultimate level while was able to be helped up, she seemed shocked that a stranger was willing to go and help her out like this. What gives? Were they expecting payment or something like those thuggish guards Luminas used to employ? No... No, it had to be just a good-samaritan; but could she risk endangering them? "I-I don't know if I can ask you to help... I don't want anyone to get hurt, and I think this is going to be very dangerous." they murmurred in a distraught voice.
Could she trust them?
"... There was a lot of chaos going around Luminas about the whole D-Reaper escapade and then just corrupt archangels... errant members being cast down for their crimes against the Digital World. B-But some of those guys are still around, trying to get people to join them in a coup." the chimera Digimon stammered. "People from Luminas have been starting to disappear, and my friend was one of them! I... I have a lead on where they might be, b-but I am terrified of who I might need to go up against..."
She stopped for a moment, gazing at Mae... There was a lot of apprehension on her face, but at the same time there was a desperate and pleading look in the Hippogriffomon's eyes. The look of someone who needed help badly.

"That's...pretty cool, actually." The cat said. At least, she thought it was cool. Meicrackmon herself had some pretty manticore-like qualities. She shook her head at the Hippogriffomon's claims. "I don't want anyone to get hurt either. Not if I can help it. And...Um. I'm far too acquainted with danger to back down..."
Mae, being a stranger to Luminas and their politics, had to stop for a second to process what was being stated by the chimera. Mae wanted to not help, but there was a part of her that would never forgive herself if she kept getting burnt by the sun like this. "...If you have a lead, then I'll help you follow it. I'd do the same if my friend were in peril. Um...I'm Mae. What's your name?"
This whole business sounded scary, but she had to at least help this poor thing...

The Hippogriffomon was actually shocked that the Meicrackmon was so... willing to help actually! It seemed like such a stretch, but here they were offering their assistance! "W-Wow... you are just like the good archangels... Th-Thank you!" the Ultimate level murmurred in shock, though soon shook off the feeling as they leaned down to offer a ride. "C-Climb on; I promise I won't go crashlanding again! And uh... my name is Flower.” they meekly spoke before soon taking flight as soon as Mae was ready.
As the pair took to the sky, Flower began to speak. ”Are you uhh, new here? You kinda remind me of the Rasielmon and Raguelmon… There was that mean Rasielmon that got cast down to the Dark Area pretty recently, but you seem nice…” the gryphon mused, though directed their attention back to where they were going… which appeared to be in the outskirts of the Empyrean Skies; the fluffy white clouds slowly growing darker and looking like storm clouds. ”So there is this one guy… his name is Messiah. People used to treat him as a hero, but ever since Luminas decided restructuring their government he just kinda ditched Luminas and took his followers with him… my friend was in his little clergy, but I think something bad is going on.” Flower spoke, their face growing distraught.
She just hoped they were not too late...

"...Do you really mean that, Flower? I..Um. I've never been up here. I've never met the good archangels." Mae inquired as she climbed onto the back of the chimera. Of course, despite being foreign to the Empyrean Skies?
She knew of the exploits of other individuals. The Rasielmon cast down to the Dark Area was the same one that Naoko fought with Yukiko, wasn't it? "You mean...What was her name...Lisa, huh? I know the two humans involved in that affair...I know I'm nice. It's not hard to be better than that."
The clouds grew stormy. The land grew dark. Where was it they were headed? The cat's ears only twitched as they listened to Flower. "I can imagine, given the name. So he just...split off? That's not...Um..." Mae trailed off. Flower seemed to be growing distressed again. The cat could only offer a pat on the head. "We'll find your friend. I promise."
But would they be too late? What would they find?

Flower was not exactly the type to lie about things... that at least was what her mum taught her! She meant quite well with Mae's generosity, it reminding her greatly of the truely angelic. "W-Well, yeah! I've lived in Luminas all my life actually, and some of the angels actually are super nice... but they've been super busy now that entirety of Luminas is being reorganized." the Hippogriffomon spoke as they glided through the air, though their tone seemed to grow bitter at the mention of the reorganization. It was a good thing, but... the dark side of Luminas wasn't leaving without a fight she was afraid. Not without leaving a mark. "That might be why people like this Messiah jerk and Lisa can get away with this stuff... but I am not going to let everything everyone has been working so hard on by some stuck-up, selfish jerk!"
The way that Flower started to heat up emotionally was obvious, though they soon calmed down back to a more worried persona at the mention of their friend. "I'm sorry... I'm just worried to death about him. He was very vocal about Messiah's removal from the hierarchy of Luminas, b-but..." they hesitantly spoke, though couldn't get the words out.
Soon enough, an ominous sight could be found at the ground below... an ominous stone structure that resembled a church, but long since abandoned. "W-We're here... I-I'm positive of it." Flower meekly spoke as they touched down to the ground to the entrance of the abandoned church... a place of holiness and peace this was not. Unfortunately, the front doors were locked tight with a manner of ordinary chains and locks...

"I see..." Mae murmured. "I suppose I should take that as a good thing, then. Imagine that, a stranger reminding you of people you've known your whole life?" The Meicrackmon snickered. For someone she considered a stranger, Flower was quickly growing on her. Though, the information being given was a surprise and a half. "...All this stuff about Luminas you've been telling me is news. Were things really that bad?"
A pause. "...Mmm. Lisa wasn't allowed to get away with her schemes. I don't think we should allow Messiah to do whatever they want either. Please, don't...worry. I'm a little vexed that this is apparently happening too."
Another pat on the head. This one meant to calm her friend. The two had come to a stone church of sorts. While it seemed abandoned? Mae felt like it was anything but. As did Flower. She dismounted the Hippogriffomon and slowly walked towards the doors, examining the locks. "I'm pretty sure I can break these if I activate Vicious Mode...What do you think? And quick, I don't think we have a lot of time." She spoke, getting ready to slide evolve if need be.

"At least I like to think it is a good thing that you remind me of them. I suppose not all are as heavenly as they present themselves, but sometimes it is not the looks that matter, but the heart." Flower gently spoke... Maybe it was a bit silly to just go and label a stranger a heavenly figure as an archangel... especially considering not all were saints. "Luminas I feel just needed some pruning... but now that all the bad eggs are gone, we can try to build off of what we have now... I hope."
Maybe one day Luminas will be as beautiful and peaceful as it is supposed to be... that was Flower's own personal dream.
With chains and shackles blocking the path, what were they to do? Well, Mae definitely had the right idea she felt... they probably didn't have much time. "Do it if you want... I feel like a fight is brewing. However..." the mythical beast Digimon meekly spoke, though their expression grew serious as they turned their attention to the door, opening her beak as energy seemed to gather in it. "Heat Wave!"
One blast of super-heated air directed at the gate was all that was needed to blow the thing right out of its hinges, it smashing through ancient bleachers of the church as it made an absolute mess of the abandoned holy temple... not a single soul there. "... I don't think Luminas will mind if we do tear this place apart... it IS for a good cause." Flower gently spoke, glancing around the old roo trying to find anything of note. "He's... he's not here? That can't be... He should be here." the Ultimate level for a moment stammered.
Cellar doors however seemed to hint that there was something below their feet... Was that the path forward?

"A descriptor I've frequently seen used for this place is...like a gilded cage. There's truth in those words--the heart is what matters the most in matters like this. I...hope everything starts to look up for Luminas." The cat spoke. She moved away from the door as Flower essentially blasted it open with her Heat Wave.
The door was thrown open, yet there was nobody there. This was apparent as the cat stepped in there. "So..." She peered around. "Here's my guess. He's here, but we need to look a little further. C'mon." She pointed at the cellar doors and moved to open them. Mae would await Flower so they could go down there together.

Though for a moment distraught by the idea that they had missed their target, Flower's heart was eased by Mae finding what looked to be a cellar door... though if Mae WAS right, was Messiah really here? If so, they both were in great danger if they kept going... though somehow, she got the feeling Mae wasn't going to back out now. "... Then we can waste no more time." the HippoGriffomon nodded before beginning to descend downward. A normal cellar this wasn't... the way that the stairs spiraled downward in a seemingly endless length in a dark void signified there was something with this seemingly unnotable church... something Flower was quick to note. "This must lead to a pocket dimension... Luminas uses these things when they are holding criminal data and to keep it out of the public eye, but its not the kinda thing technology most people can get ahold of..." the avian beast murmurred, eyeing a red gleam as they descended down. What looked like the red sunlight of a falling sun could be seen... and as the pair approached closer, the more of a crimson red sky with orange clouds came to view. More importantly however, an endless expanse of what appeared to be an open battlefield filled their view... and more ominously, a vast number of giant structures. Crosses. Giant, black digizoid crosses... each chained horrifically with a still beating Digicore, forced into a perpetual agonizing state as the damned wails of countless souls softly hummed across the land. And the number of individuals that were being subjected to this torment...? Too many to count without spending a good hour or so. Flower practically was paralyzed by the sheer horror of the scene, actually stepping back. "... Oh my god..." was all that she could mutter... her voice cracking as she spotted a figure standing amidst the crosses. A black-covered Jesmon... a dark mirror of what others might see as a hero of the Digital World, one that was currently subjecting another writhing Digicore unable to die to be enchained like all the others. As quick as it happened, the large dragon knight turned around to gaze at the two new intruders... a merely apathetic stare as the being hummed melodiously. "Aaah... More lambs. More lambs that wish to join the holy figure in everlasting joy." they spoke with a genuine hint of ethusiasm without a hint of malice... a twisted scene that did not fit his handiwork.

It wasn't a matter of if Mae had wanted to back out now or not. She had already come this far for the sake of Flower, so she obviously needed to fight through this...looming sense of dread and see this through. Immediately, the cat could tell that this...dread was far from unfounded. A void that lead into another dimension? That was...unsettling, to say the least. Yet, the cat descended with the chimera to find a rather...horrifying scene. A battlefield filled with naught but cores strapped upon crosses of Digizoid, desperately wailing for release. "Is this..." Is this where Messiah dwelt? The answer to that was obvious. A black knight stared at them before speaking. Mae didn't need foresight to know who was responsible for this. There was something about the way it spoke that just...angered the cat. Horror turned to anger in the span of but a few seconds. Was Flower's friend among these? How long had this been happening? She took a step forward, before her whole frame burst into light, the Meicrackmon being quickly replaced with a Rasielmon. "I'll twist that joy into despair, SCUM!" The Ophanim cried as she flew towards Messiah, a blade forming out of one of the circles on her arm before she swung for the dragon.
Relevant Passives: Fatebreaker [RAM Upgrade Giga]: This entity has the same mysterious foresight that a Rasielmon would possess. As such, Mae has the ability to divine a potentially infinite number of futures, depending on the level she's at. There are, however, limits to her foresight. For one, the lower the level, the more muddied, limited, and opaque the visions will be. The higher, the clearer. Furthermore, in combat, this is only really applicable as a way to warn herself and others of various attacks. Whether she can dodge them or not even with this is entirely on her. Should she successfully dodge an attack she had a vision of, the chances she can dodge the next one are lower. Basically she can’t spam this unless she wants the hurt.
Elemental Connection: Every three turns, Mae can apply one of five elements to her attack, changing it’s properties and/or appearance to suit the opponent she’s facing. They go as follows: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light.
Instinctual Supplement: Fatebreaker ties into this passive--Her foresight is amplified greatly in this form, enabling Mae to have above-average reaction times to a LOT of things. Basically, she’s greater at dodging and/or countering attacks than a good deal of her other forms.
Mae digivolves into Rasielmon and rushes at Messiah with Avenging Strike. Avenging Strike [RAM Upgrade]: Mae conjures a armament from the data in the circles located on her forearms before she strikes out for a foe with it. One post cooldown. Cooldowns: Avenging Strike: 0/1

Messiah tilted his head slightly to the side as he gazed at Mae… an almost mocking stare at the feline’s justified rage as they ascended to Mega level. Curious… Had Luminas finally caught up to his plotting to send Mega levels now? No matter… he shall gather these twisted souls and reforge them into something greater. ”Oh my.” the BlackJesmon silently mused gazing at the rushdown from the angel with little more but an amused gaze.
Three spectral figures had materialized in front of the BlackJesmon, intercepting the angel’s blade outright before it could even draw blood… easily parrying the attack outright. “Your voice is poisoned… Poisoned with a vile rage.” the Royal Knight mused before chuckling. “No harm, no foul. I will save you just like I will the others.” the Mega whispered… before motioning a hand forward. ”Weltgeist.”
The three spectral bladed-familiars gleamed briefly before quickly darting out of sight… Immediately, Messiah readied into a battle-position, though was forced to pause after catching sight of Flower, who was in-mid firing of another Heat Wave at him. To the Hippogriffomon’s horror, her attack was dispelled away with a clean slash of one of the blades on Messiah’s left wrist… an action so passive, it could be mistaken for the Mega simply ignoring her.
”N-Not even a scratch?!” the bird gasped in shock… she knew that Messiah was a Mega, but were Mega levels truly this strong? It seemed like the only one capable of even keeping up with the dragon’s knight pace was Mae… though as the Hippogriffomon mused about this, she spotted the cyan-blue familiars of the BlackJesmon reappear around the Rasielmon. ”Mae, around you!” she desperately called out… hoping to least give enough of a warning for the angel to react. Else? A three-way prong attack from each familiar as they sliced at the Rasielmon’s waist.
Messiah parried Avenging Strike with Weltgeist and Heat Wave through sheer strength (albeit forced on the defensive). Atho, Rene, and Por are attacking Mae from all directions with the counterattack of Weltgeist
[PASSIVE] Atho, Rene, and Por - The three familiars of BlackJesmon; these autonumous beings are able to be controlled from vast distances and form a wide toolbox of techniques amongst the RoyalKnight’s abilities. They can independently be commanded to use attacks relating to them, separate from BlackJesmon’s own actions, though he takes partial damage if the familiars are struck. As he loses health, he will lose a familiar (at 25% intervals). All three together are about the strength of a Twin Mega.
[PASSIVE] Chivalrous - For each time BlackJesmon counters or defends against incoming attacks, he gains a Chivalrous counter. When he would reach three Chivalrous counters, he creates a shockwave that inflicts knockback around surrounding foes and reduces their defenses by 33% for three turns, he also healing for a moderate amount. The counters drop to zero, and then this ability will require an additional counter above three to activate a second time (and so on).
Weltgeist - Atho, Rene, and Por flawlessly parry almost any single Mega-level or lower attack directed at BlackJesmon (Super Mega for reduced damage), striking back with a strong counterattack against Melee attacks. While it has no limit to the amount of attacks it blocks, each successive Mega or higher one it blocks increases the cooldown by 1. It loses effectiveness as the familiars vanish. (Cooldown: 3 Turn)

It was true that Mae was nothing short of livid at the moment, but was it truly so poisonous? Not quite. For though her attack didn't quite strike true...She and Flower had forced Messiah onto a defensive. This was good. If they could keep at this, maybe this would be over in but a few strikes. Yet...Mae's foresight had flared up with that warning from Flower, her vision being quickly overtaken by the sight of being skewered by the three familiars that any Jesmon, black or white, would have. This, coupled with the warning and Rasielmon's heightened senses, enabled her to evade the attack in the only way she could if she was being attacked from every direction, just about. She had to go up. As a result, she only sustained a minor amount of damage from being grazed by the familiars. "No, I see now that I need to save you." The Ophanim snarled as she drew her arm back, the circle upon it spinning rapidly as it shifted between five colors. "Knowledge Stream!" She then promptly fired forth a beam of energy best described as every element she could access at once. Yet, that was not all. Not long after she fired the attack? A portal opened up in front of her. It ate the stream right up before another one opened at the left of Messiah, quite suddenly, and regurgitated the remainder of the attack right at him!
Mae uses her Fatebreaker passive to evade Weltgeist, having been warned by Flower. She then chains Knowledge Stream and Spatial Relocation together to attack Messiah once more! Knowledge Stream: Mae combines all five of the elements that she can use for her Elemental Connection passive to fire a beam that can best be described as pure, concentrated unmaking. As all five of the elements from that passive are present, this attack...has no element. It simply is. Three turn cooldown. Spatial Relocation: An ability that's best described as Mae opening a portal or two. One serves as an entry point and another as an exit. The purpose these portals serve is manyfold. Moving long distances in a brief period of time? Check. Extending the range (and placement) of your attacks by firing them through the portals? Check. This has a three turn cooldown, and while Mae is able to chain the following moves into this one (Namely Knowledge Stream, Holy Bullet, Divine Punishment and Sefer Raziel), they are given an additional turn of cooldown. This move's cooldown also goes up by a turn. The portals have a maximum range of 700 feet. Cooldowns: Avenging Strike: 1/1 Knowledge Stream: 0/4 Spatial Relocation: 0/4 Fatebreaker: 0/3
