Even if rather cold, Kon-chan's answer was somewhat expected. Given the past bad experiences that she had with dragons, being at least hesitant around them was expected, if not actually logical. That didn't deter Amy from borderline guffawing at how ridiculous the exchanges between digimon and partner were.
Alas, they had to move. Right into a slope that made the Commandramon reminisce about somebody who wasn't here anymore. The teenager didn't know why, but the mention of that so-called 'Kyo' unnerved her slightly. Why? She had no idea, to be honest.
That... would be discussed later, however. For now, there was a slope in front of them; one that was so deep that not even the full potency of Haru's D-Nexus could accurately pinpoint. Where was the group going? That was a good question.
However... Mae decided to take the lead, going as far as to shed her Meicoomon form in favor of Meicrackmon. A smart strategy, probably. The brunette nodded at her words. "I have no idea of what might be down below, but considering that this guy's mom might be down below, I guess that we should check out at least. So... I'll be right after you, Mae. I think I won't evolve for now, but if things get dicey, I won't doubt. Let's hope it's nothing, though."
The descent was slow, mostly to accommodate the humans going downward, and to make sure there wasn't any unexpected obstacle in the relative obscurity. Only when the group had descended over three hundred meters, they would find it. Standing tall amid the pit, there was nothing more and nothing less than a highly modified variation of a tradition ziggurat. A black, sharp structure stood tall in front of the trio, vague sounds emanating from its insides.
"Well... I can't say I expected this. A building inside a building is not something you see every day, and I can't say it means anything good. Would it be obvious if I said I have a bad feeling about this?"
Whether they would enter or not was left in the air. Would the group agree, or not? Well, at least one thing could be assured. "I'm going in, though."

"...Mmm, depth exceeding possible scanning? Darn, that's... a lot." Koharu muttered. Meanwhile Kon-chan watched as Mae took Meicrackmon form... no reaction from Amelie's Digivice, assuming she have one... so either she's an Xros General, or she's a Spirit User, or a partnered with ability to store her partner inside the Digivice. Either way, assuming that she has yet shown any partners even in time like this, her first thought is that she's a spirit user, which is fine. Lately there are not that much schizophrenic Spirit Users huh?
"...Well, then with that being said... I guess evolving right now is fine, right?"
"Go for it," Warg answered.
Koharu pressed the button once, summoning two golden circles that evolved both of her partners to their new forms of Black Growmon X and Sealsdramon after they passed through it. "Well, this is the highest stage we can assume at the moment. Sorry about that, fellas."
"Less talk and more move," Kon-chan shot at her brother. "I think that is a wise decision, Miss Mae. I think we'll take the middle instead so we can provide backup to the front and the back easily. There are two of us after all."
Thus, they began their descent. To Koharu's surprise, they're descending about three hundred meters. That's... damned deep. The girl scratched her cheek in wonder. "...Amelie, you probably want to check this beforehand," Koharu showed her mapping function shown 3D image of pathway they has traveled, along with how far are they from the point of entry.
Although she can't help but to gasp in awe of the building. "...This might be my second time seeing a building inside a structure..."
"Is it related to Ys?" Warg asked.
"We will know sooner or later. Let's see... Activating comparison sequence... Matching building data with Sanctuarium Unionis..."
The said building in Ys, Sanctuarium Unionis that meant as KIZNA base is rather black like this also, but designed with different style. Theirs are more to a shrine, albeit a massive one at it. Either way...
"...There's no choice but to press ahead, right?"
"Yes, that's true, but can't say I approve of Miss Saboro's reckless tendency..."

"I'd hope it's nothing, honestly. Anything underground that wants us dead is obviously gonna be worse news than bad." The Meicrackmon uttered. It was nice that the twins accompanying them evolved, before deciding to take the middle. As they were two heads rather than one, that meant they could cover more bases than one 'mon alone.
This was proceeding as nice as can be for a rather uncertain venture. Though...Why was there a ziggurat (a modified one) within a mountain?
"That's...curious. It might lead to the gal we're looking for, but this is still very strange." Mae stated as she followed Amelie in. She wasn't questioning the Frenchwoman's tenacity. She was simply rolling with it. That's what friends do, right? "C'mon, guys!"

Everyone voiced their thoughts regarding the enigmatic structure. Was it a good idea to go inside? Would it be better to just call off the whole deal? At least at the moment, that didn't seem to be so uncertain; not everyone was thrilled about the prospect, but they all had manifested the desire to continue.
Amelie's digivice was already on her grip, and that would probably be a bit of a lead on what was her 'class', to say it in some way. At least that was what a D-Tector told at plain sight, didn't it? It was an answer that could bring on many more questions. Or not; who knew?
For now, a Sealsdramon and a very weird Growlmon appeared in front of her. The fighting force seemed formidable, or at least relatively so. "I personally don't think that a formation has a lot of usefulness, but let's respect it. I guess I can stand at the back? I don't mind, anyway."
Now, they were descending, and as they did so, Koharu showed her... a map of sorts? That was interesting! The brunette took keen interest to it, eventually nodding somewhat enthusiastically. "With this, I guess we don't risk getting lost inside a weird structure. That'll come in handy."
There was an interesting tool, currently comparing the ziggurat with a structure that Amy had never seen in her life. The result would be left to Koharu's devices; whether they had the same nature than the building in Ys or not was a coin toss by this point.
When they reached the top of the building, everyone seemed ready, despite the teenager glancing at Kon-chan, somewhat confused. "Have I... have I met you before?" Why the sudden feeling of familiarity? Maybe the two were related? Or maybe, there was no way for the dragon to know her last name. Anyway, probably something not important at the moment. Especially considering the low grumble coming from the monument's insides.
It meant somebody was there. Somebody that probably wasn't very friendly. Still! First order of business was descending the stairways atop the pyramid of sorts, and finding even more claw marks as they did so.
Yet, before anyone could react to those, a loud sound was heard from the lower level. Everything pointed out that it was an explosion of sorts. What that their ticket to bail... or to press on?
Amy gazed at the group, worry evident in her eyes. "So... what do you think is happening down there?"

"The last thing that we need is indeed getting lost inside some structure. Ah, the result came out..."
The two Digimons of the human immediately scooted closer to her. The material match is assumed to be around 70%, which either mean there are some connection, or it's just a bit of material trade... though considering that this is a Ziggurat instead of a shrine confused her. It's the time when Amelie said something about have Kon-chan met her before that it alerted the black haired girl.
"Kon-chan?"
The Sealsdramon tilted her head momentarily. Hmmm... come to think of it, Amelie never said her surname did she? Then why is she accurate? Is it the news? Indeed she lately read about a report by a reporter called Amelie Saboro but there are a lot of Amelie, at least one or two other than her considering how many tourists arrived in Japan and is in Digital World. Kon-chan thought a while before finally opening her mouth.
"...I felt like I know someone who looked like you... hmmm... she's quite tall and you resembled her quite a bit. But her surname isn't Saboro. I meanwhile know another guy who's a bit... He's kinda villainy, but not really? More like the type of boss who sat on top of multimedia corporations... That guy's name is definitely Saboro, but I don't remember his name..."
"...Had you said 'I think I met your mother', that would be so damn awkward."
WHACK
The response was so swift and cold. Warg wanted to laugh his ass off, but the low grumble aren't exactly welcoming.
"...Something gigantic?" Warg supplied.
"No shit, Sherlock, but what?" Kon-chan countered.
"I don't know."
"Whatever it is, are we sure we going to keep forward?" Koharu asked. "I don't meant to be rude, but... whatever it is could be imprisoned, or is worshiped in this place. We're pretty much walking to jaw of this being."
Still, climbing up says that there are more than meet the eyes... "Did the child's mother somehow kidnapped here? I really hope that wasn't the case... Unless there are some secret entrance in this place... Plus that sound of explosion..."

A map? Why, that's nice to have handy. "Yep, we're definitely not going to get lost. ...Unless something poaches or burns the map, I guess...But that might just be me being a worrywart." Yet, she did feel like she had something to say regarding the odd...familiarity that the rifle-toting occupational hazard of a dinosaur had with Amelie.
"Don't say that about Amy's dad! I don't know who he is, but I'm pretty sure that's rude! Especially towards a lady!" Mae paused at the sound down below, and shrugged at her companions. "Perhaps she was trapped here by something and that was her trying to get out...We should search the place. For a door that leads below. Or a secret entrance."

All things considered, the story regarding how Kon-chan knew Amelie's last name, and apparently her parents as well was... surprising, to say the least. For now, the brunette raised a curious eyebrow, and while she felt like further inquiring in the dragon's claims, there were no doubt more pressing matters at hand. The gossip and chit-chat would have to wait for later, even if...
"Don't worry about it, Mae." She reassured the cat. "Chances are we're not talking about the same people, even though I'm interested in hearing Kon-chan's tale once everything has been said and done; maybe she met my parents on her last life, or something? That'd be interesting! But, for now, we should focus on the task at hand."
The group kept on descending, tumultuous sounds becoming louder and louder when each step downward. Flesh colliding with mental, accompanied by the screeching sound of gears and tires. It became clearer and clearer than danger would lurk ahead, yet... Amelie pressed on. She had promised the young black dragon that she'd find his mother, and that was exactly what she would do. No matter what.
Overpowering as it was, the brunette's eyes had accustomed themselves to the darkness. They were nearing the bottom of the ziggurat; they were near, and could even visualize an opening in the darkness below! Yet...
Was that the sound of a drill? Oh, God. "This isn't boding well." She commented, somewhat grimly. "Are you ready? We're gonna jump in at my signal."
Would they even accept? Probably, probably not. But that didn't matter. Amy's pulse was already quickening with a strange sense of adventure, even despite the oncoming danger.

Kon-chan shrugged. She doesn't really care about it being rude. Like she said, it's probably just a random coincidence. "Well, like I said it might not be accurate at all. Do you think that your parents are chosen, too, Miss Saboro?" she asked. "In case they're not then it might be a stray data in my memory, or some alternate reality. A friend of mine believed that not all data in this world originated from one Digital World. There are many out there, and just like that is connected to other 'real world'. Thus what I get probably is memory from other Digital World."
Now they're going down. Koharu anxiously looked at her D-Nexus. Thing with it is it allowed some certain mapping of area they are... it will give idea about whether there are other person near them but it won't give details like if they're in stealth mode, or in case ambush happened.
But it sure did showed something HUGE nearby. How wide is the area, or how huge is it, she had no idea, but...
"Koharu, when it comes to it, you have to hide behind us, you understand?"
"Mhn. Got it."
Kon-chan readied her knives while Warg looked ahead.
"...If this sound of drill is right, then most likely it's not a Groundramon... It's a Breakdramon."
"That much I know," Kon-chan retorted. "...God I hope it's not some Betsumon."

"Well, it does help. I like stories. Especially old stories. Uh...My dad was partner to a chosen. Was." Mae nodnodded at her present company. "You're right, though. We should keep focused on what's in front of us. Because here, we might end up fighting some monsters."
She, of course, had her own thoughts on what the source of the drilling noises could be. "Breakdramon, JagerDorulumon, those are my two guesses and neither of them bode well. i...Uh. I have no comment about anything relating to a Betsumon. Regardless, you know how ready I am. At your signal, Amy."
That wasn't a lie, Mae was just rearing to leap into the unknown just to quench some curiosity.

At least for now, Amy wasn't going to follow any crazy theories regarding her parents' origins. Except for the fact that Kon-chan had mentioned some bits about different timelines and alternate realities; that much managed to pique her interest. If it weren't for the fact that they were venturing into some kind of underground temple, he'd have given them way more attention!
"Nah, there's no way for my parents to be involved in the digimon deal and for me not having found out about it. That'd be just crazy." She dismissively waved the comment off. "Your theories are interesting, though. I'd love to hear a more in-depth outlook on them over a cup of tea at some time if you don't mind!"
Enough of that for now, though. It was time to descend! After a deep breath, that interestingly enough had coincided with the drilling sounds stopping, Amelie waved her hand and then... jumped down.
What was down below? It was difficult to look, but the vague outline of what had happened was obvious; a black Groundramon was imprisoned amid some kind of very resilient webbing. She looked injured, and her struggles seemed to be notably weak in comparison to the digimon's supposed strength.
Not very far from the digimon, a small device currently displaying a countdown that was slowly regressing from 3 minutes could be seen. Considering the explosion that had happened before, it wasn't hard to infer what it was supposed to do. The Dracomon that had been perched on the brunette's shoulder became frantic at the image, even though he couldn't even vocalize what he felt properly.
"We need to get her out of this place before we get blown to bits." Amy's tone was borderline frantic now. She hurried to hand Koharu the Dracomon before bringing out her D-Tector; an arc of data was already swirling around her left hand. "Mae, Kon-chan and Warg should take care of that webbing. I'm gonna carry the Groundramon once she's released. Got it?"
Time to get to work. And not explode in the process.

"You would never really know~" Koharu's tone was rather jovial this time "Who knows, maybe your sisters are Digimons, or like brother probably? Or maybe your aunt, or your uncle, maybe they're just hiding it enough. I don't think Spirit Users can smell Digimon's scent, right?"
"Or there is a jammer in your house that prevented their digital signature to manifest," Warg added.
"What with you two and your love of conspiracy theory? Quit your MIB shit and focus! Holy Homeostasis, geez!"
A cup of tea sounds fine, but she'd rather not raise a flag a the moment. Saying 'sure, after we get out of this mess' sounds like a flag if she have to say. But either way, here it i--- Fuck. That's one stuff from nightmare. A Black Groundramon after all. That and she's stuck in a webbing.
"Ay fuck. Warg, you know what to do!"
"On it!"
The two immediately ran to the webbing. Meanwhile Koharu was entrusted with the baby, made a panicked "hawawa" sound as she tried to secure the little dragon's position closer to her chest.
Kon-chan worked fast. She sniped a lot of the webbing's joint. Warg meanwhile burned the webs. Kon-chan made sure to snipe some area before it could actually burn uncontrollably. Here hoping that it'll be a quick release... She could try to disarm the bomb, but... nope. That's too time consuming. Three minutes are not enough.

The time of jokes was over for now, and the time for action had come. The scene they had come upon once they had completed their descent was a rather simple yet perilous one. Mae could quite plainly see the black Groundramon. It was an uncomfortable reminder to the one she had fought. Yet this one was...not hostile, obviously.
That bomb, though...They had less than three minutes. She and the twins were on web duty, and she knew what she could use to help cut the Groundramon free. The Meicrackmon's claws extended and gained a red color as she shifted into Vicious Mode, before she ran towards the webbing and began to slice at it to free the mother.
"No dying today." The cat murmured.

Her brother, a digimon? Or even her sisters? That mere idea managed to make Amelie chuckle; that was pretty much impossible, wasn't it? She wouldn't even entertain those thoughts before diving in and finding herself face to face with a rather dire situation.
Namely, that they'd be blown to bits if they didn't act fast enough. Amelie's own evolution straight to perfect level happened in a flash. While the other digimons worked on the webbing, Heraldmon vigorously tried to separate the Groundramon from its webby prison.
It was successful, and soon enough, the aberration would begin to make a run out of the structure while carrying the mostly unconscious being within its grasp. Literally making a run for it.
A somewhat close call, but Heraldmon had barely managed to exit the mountain by the time the explosives detonated; you didn't even have to possess particularly acute senses to sense the shockwave that exploded forward, and was strong enough to send the ultimate level tumbling.
Immediately landing and collapsing on the cold snow below, the girl undid her evolution as she breathed laboriously; that had been exhausting! But, ultimately, they had emerged victorious!
"That was quite the trip, wasn't it?" The girl softly murmured, her body mere centimeters apart from the Groundramon's. One wrong move, and she could get crushed under the dragon's massive weight! "But! I guess that it was fun in a sense. And we got to reunite a mom and his kid. Ain't that cute?"
Once she got her breath back, Amy stood up and straightened her clothes a bit. "Well. I guess that's all for now; I'm gonna do my best to wake mom up and see if she can walk to the nearest village on her own. If not, I'll just carry her around. If you wanna stay, that's fine, but if you need to go somewhere else, just tell me how I can reach once the payment is ready." And, after a pause, she added. "Had fun! Hope to see you sometime soon."
An interesting adventure, for sure. Maybe the brunette would try something in this style again? Maybe! [Exit]

"...I'm glad this time around this doesn't ends in hanging bridge effect or anything like that. I'm glad that this time around we're not going to be eaten..." Kon-chan commented. After all that running, seriously... "...But the question remains. Who have this sort of wicked sense of humor to put a bomb on a Groundramon? Honestly... Unless it's a trap that I have no idea at all could exist in that sort of place."
"Whatever it is I'm just glad that we're done and reunited the two," Warg concluded.
"That we did, yes. However..."
The two Digimons looked at their human partner. How will she take this? Koharu wheezed as she seemed ran out of breath from all that running and adrenaline.
"I don't think I'd want that sort of adventure again, sorry..." but the girl then smiled as quickly "...but that was quite a thrill. I guess I really need some sort of adventure. Anything works.... And I think I need to go to sea probably!"
"Where does that came from?" Kon-chan deadpanned.
"Who knows! I guess I just got a bit of a thrill from this! So, shall we return home?"

The affair, all things considered, was incredibly quick. Several high leveled Digimon, one of which was equipped with claws that could cut through most substances like paper, all working on these bindings meant a quick extraction of the Groundramon. Once Heraldmon made her exit, the Vicious Mode Meicrackmon raced after her and her newfound friends.
"I'm going to choose not to question it. Sometimes, people find themselves in situations that they can't quite explain themselves, and it's up to others to get them out of it, I guess. I'll admit, I want to know who left her there and why they did that with a bomb, but...Maybe we'll find out sooner or later."
Mae otherwise opted to stay with Amy to wake mama Groundramon up. It was a long task ahead.
