Shooting the Breeze at the Station [Akari]

There really was a moral debate on what was the better option… to or not to allow the chance for a Digimon to be born anew and hopefully innocent, but risking that they may still be the same? In the end, Akari saw validity to both sides of the argument… neither was wholely wrong, though perhaps it came down to who was deciding the outcome. ”Well, we’ll see I suppose if it ever boils down to that. That is a question for the philosophers.” the girl softly huffed, leaning back in the seat of the bench. Better to move to different topics before things got heated.
So it appeared that the feline’s father figure (she had somewhat thought that wasn’t exactly something that normally happened with Digimon, what with they being apparently fairly genderless… but guess she was wrong) was actually somewhat a medical practitioner. In a way, it did make sense to Akari… most Digimon were fairly civil, so it’d make sense that the need for a doctor would exist. “The medical field is certainly a good field. You’d never run out of work. No matter what, there will always be a need for it.” she hummed, smiling slightly. ”You must be quite proud of him.”
Nonetheless, there was bound to be some niche job she could have Helvetica do while she was busy with say human world activities like her work and studies. If the premise of an errand girl delivering things around town worked out, it might prove to be valuable experience for the fairy… her mother always said that one cannot progress in life if you cannot progress yourself. “You will also be able to have some bits for yourself… In case you ever want to buy something.” the girl ended up throwing out to Helvetica… at least offering something ala a bait for the Rookie to bite potentially.
“...? Ohhh, what kinda things could I get? Do you think they have candy in Terminus City?” the fairy’s eyes lit up in curiosity, practically bouncing in her seat at the prospect. All the chocolate one could buy! The Flitmon’s expression however mellowed out though as they caught sight of something small off in the distance, soon turning into a disgruntled look. ”Oh great… what now?”
The creature in question was a small DemiDevimon; one carrying a parcel within their talons. Despite the parcel being half their size, the tiny devil did not seem bothered by this and soon perched up on one of the railings of the station. ”Mail call from junior boss!” the DemiDevimon squeaked at Akari before unceremoniously tossing the package into her arms, though sure enough their attention would be drawn towards Syre… the Virus Digimon staring at the feline curiously. ”Hey, who’s the broad anyway, boss the third? We getting a pet cat or something?”
The way Akari scowled aggressively at the imp was unlike any point in the conversation prior, she squinting at the bat enough to cause the creature to recoil. ”Hold that tongue of yours you imp, or I’ll tear it out by hand. You will treat anyone in my company with respect, do you understand? Now… shoo.” she swiftly spoke, that alone being all that was needed to send the Rookie scurrying back off into the sky. She took a deep breath as she turned back to Syre, sighing. ”Ugh, I am sorry. He is an underling of ours, but he is an unruly creature. No manners or tact.”

Honestly, Digimon parenting was a bit rare to begin with, and how exactly all that worked would require a Digital World doctor - but that was neither here nor there. To Akari's comments on it, Syre returned a nod: "Mhm. Very proud, but it also makes him quite busy. I'm out here running an errand for him, in fact."
Somehow, it seemed that Akari had taken a liking to Syre! Maybe it was that the cat didn't immediately call her out on her ideals, or maybe the cat was just tiptoeing around landmines. But for at least a few minutes, she was able to share a smile and hold a pleasant conversation with these two. "Heh, of course they have candy. Lots of food and helpful stuff - that close to the real world, its not that hard to find tents, flashlights - ya'know, things that tamers tend to forget when they first go out on their own. Well, not all on their own, I guess, but you get what I mean."
Of course, the Terminus Market made a killing off that as well - it was still much better to just get that stuff in the human world to begin with, rather than pay an upcharge for having it smuggled to the Digital side. But it seemed that their conversation was interrupted by a sort of carrier pigeon - a Demidevimon? The package was dropped right in Akari's arms, and true to their form, the virus type rookie had a fair bit of snark.
This was normal to Syre: she'd been around the block more than once, and knew just how these types clicked. She rolled her eyes, as if about to retort or play into his teasing... but Akari answered first.
And answered fiercely: "Hold that tongue of yours you imp, or I’ll tear it out by hand. You will treat anyone in my company with respect, do you understand?"
The rookie, apparently scared by that display, was quick to make her exit - but as Akari turned back to Syre, she wouldn't be looking at that pleasant expression from before. Actually, Syre didn't know what to feel - and in spite of Akari's explanation, the cat just looked right back up at her, blinking twice as if to try and process what Akari just said.
Though Syre didn't say anything - perhaps purposefully biting her tongue - the cat's unspoken words might have been clear.
Not okay.

Helvetica appeared ecstatic to hear that candy was an option at the market... It was quite clear that the fae was more than a bit childish, she practically goggling at the idea of buying more chocolate goodies than her arms could carry! Well... okay, maybe that was a bad idea... but the point was still the same. "I bet they'll have white chocolate, Akari! I can't wait then!"
The Flitmon's tamer smiled at her partner's excited tone... much like a big sister in a way. Still, the market did seem like a useful place to go… there was nothing wrong with the prospect of being over prepared frankly. ”I suppose due to people underestimating what this world offers… which frankly, I would say is very short-sighted.” the girl ended up briefly musing. She was the last person to go into anything without a good idea of what she was getting herself into after all… at least she saw herself as that way.
Overall, Akari was enjoying the conversation with Syre… it was clear to the girl that Syre was someone who at least could see the bigger picture; an overall refreshing take compared to her usual dealings with people. Unfortunately, the pleasant air faded soon with Boomer’s presence… or more specifically her treatment of Boomer. It actually made Akari flinch seeing Syre’s reaction… mostly realizing she screwed up. "... Look, you have to be forceful with that guy to get anything done. Itis not like I am going to do that." the girl fairly quickly backpedaled, at least trying to save face.
Helvetica honestly wasn’t too approving of the bat’s overall treatment… maybe since she was more an advocate of honey attracts more flies than vinegar. At the same time, she wasn’t exactly buddy-buddy with him. "Boomer is a bit... mean? He is kind of a bully honestly. He pulls on my hair." Helvetica pouted, somewhat trying to back her tamer’s actions. Akari was incapable of doing anything wrong in her eyes.
While the light-blonde was willing to reflect on that it was perhaps a bit harsh, it didn’t change her opinion on the DemiDevimon. He was a spineless coward, and she wanted to make quite clear to him where his place was in the budding Hakainushi. At the same time, it was the attitude that irked her as well… enough to be a driving force for her actions. "I don't tolerate that kind of behavior, human or Digimon. You give him an inch, he'll take a mile. He's useful, but someone has to keep an eye on him at all times."
Nonetheless... the overall mood was now awkward. Akari was basically cursing silently to herself on the bat's brief appearance, as otherwise this conversation would have been going by just swimmingly. Idly the girl slumped back on the bench, glancing at the station. A Trailmon should be coming by soon enough, right?

Oh, dear - that backpedal wasn't helping things at all.
Syre wasn't naive. Someone trying to back up their words with 'I didn't mean it' or 'I actually wouldn't' wasn't speaking in the best of heart. More to the point, if its something that someone said when they thought no-one was watching, didn't that make the words more true? If this had been the first thing she saw when she met Akari, Syre would have stepped up and simply waited on the far wall of the station. Heck, if it was just Akari, the BlackGatomon would have done that anyway.
... But there was Helvetica. Innocent, playful, and definitely not knowing what she had gotten herself into. A few moments into that awkward silence, Syre gave a sigh, carefully picking her words.
"I get it - we all have our moments, Akari, so don't worry about it." The BlackGatomon definitely wasn't smiling, but her words were calm and seemed considerate. "You know what, here..."
Reaching to the bag at her side, Syre pulled out a sealed plastic bag, tightly packed with six pieces of hard candy, a dark red-purple in color and a simple label printed over the side. "This is popular with Virus types." heck, Syre had been sucking on one this whole conversation, "You can tell him they're from you, or that the 'cat broad' is looking out for him." Or, really, use them however she wanted - the cat clearly wasn't going to tell her how to do things.
... Of course, this left Helvetica looking right at the candy for a moment! "Want to try one? Going to warn you, they're a bit spicy." But some Data and even Vaccine types liked them just for that fact alone! If she wanted one, Syre would pass the fairy a loose piece.

It wouldn't have been exaggerating that Helvetica was relatively... naive. Not naive enough to recognize something was off between Akari and Syre, but she was more apt to keep her mouth shut in regards to the overall tension. At the very least Syre seemed willing to compromise. Good thing too; she hated conflict as a whole, regardless of how small or insignificant it was. "Akky didn't mean anything bad, I promise! She is just a little prickly, thats all!"
Akari could not help but awkwardly stare at the fae at the mention of being prickly... She wasn't THAT abrasive, was she? She merely offered a gentle nod towards Syre, though her interest was soon picqued by the cat offering her and Helvetica some candy... Would bat boy actually like this stuff? You know, probably actually. The tiny devil was painfully childish, enough to make even Hel look mature in comparison. "He might appreciate that actually... He's not exactly what I would call... friendly, but hey its a start." the girl idly mused as she pocketed the sweet, though now it seemed Syre had Helvetica's attention.
The fairy's eyes were wide in curiosity, she pluckily nodding her head as she accepted the gift. "Thank you miss Syre! I really appreciate it!" the lavender-haired pixie replied before plopping the unwrapped candy into her mouth.
Akari actually for a moment pondered the mention of Virus types... Something like that had been thrown around in prior conversations, but ironically she still had not an inkling as to what it was exactly. "When you say Virus types, what do you mean? You mean like, computer viruses?" the girl hesitantly asked... In retrospect, that at least made sense in her mind. Digimon were after all it seemed just sentient programs. She glanced briefly at Helvetica, as if half-expecting an answer from the Rookie.
"I... I guess?" the fairy mumbled, still sucking on the candy in her mouth... seemingly enjoying it as well! It didn't take long for her to least display said enjoyment to Syre, she smiling at the cat. "Its really good! What do you call these things...?"

No, no, prickly was definitely a good word for it, Akari!
But Syre wasn't going to prod that thought more than she needed to, and candy was a good way to bridge the subject. After considering it for a moment, Akari thankfully agreed with Syre's idea, the cat returning a small nod and a smile. "Well, everything has to start somewhere - ah, you're welcome!" With a smile to the Flitmon, it seemed that this conversation had finally reached more friendly terms again.
With the train about to arrive, Akari asked a curious question: what was a virus type? Syre's ear flicked as she heard it, the cat mulling it over: "Mm... not exactly like a computer virus, but I could see where you'd think that. O-oh!" Briefly distracted by the fairy, Syre gave her answer: "'Dark Spice Drops'! Apparently a Devimon out in Terminus figured them out about a year ago..."
Right, right, back on topic! Returning her attention to Akari, Syre set out to explain. "Though Digimon take a lot of shapes and kinds, there's really only three... okay, four types: Data, Vaccine, Virus, and Free, though Free types mostly consist of armor, baby, and in-training Digimon." That aside... heck, what was the best way to explain it? "I guess you could consider it the code in our... um, I think you call it 'DNA'? Anyway, though there's not a lot different between the types, it impacts how we make medicine and how certain attacks or techniques work against each-other. Its slight, but Data has an advantage against Vaccine, Vaccine has an advantage over Virus, and Virus has an advantage over Data."
So, basically a triangle - and Free didn't really come into that equation. "Demidevimon and BlackGatomon are Virus types... and I think Flitmon is... yeah, Flitmon is data." Syre sounded uncertain at first, but after setting her eyes briefly on the fairy for a moment, she confirmed her suspicions.
Syre was definitely helpful for this - but she left out something that might have been helpful, that Vaccine data would be the safest for Flitmon to load. No reason to encourage that, right?

“Well he deserves every bit he gets! It tastes cinnamon-y!” the fairy chimed cheerfully at the mention of the creator of these delectable candies… Who would have thought a devil could make something so good!
Akari personally stayed quiet in that regard… Personally, she would have been hesitant putting anything made by a demon into her mouth… but that was just her. Regardless, Syre had her full attention as this was valuable knowledge she had no prior experience with. ”So it is somewhat similar to human blood-types.. DNA is a good analogy though. While at its base components the same, you cannot really mix one with another and get the same results.” she ended up musing, making mild comparisons between human genetics and digital genetics. ”It is why we have to sometimes cater to specific people with medicine. There are hundreds of different medications, but not all are guaranteed to work or even help. It really depends on the genes.”
So Boomer was a Virus (gee, no surprise)... and Syre herself was one too. Honestly, was it maybe just the black part of their species name? Who knows really… but Syre did bring up something that just hit Akari, realizing that Flitmon was also a species. “There are… more Flitmon?” In retrospect, it made sense that perhaps Helvetica’s species wasn’t a one-off deal. Maybe just really rare since she had not seen any like them, but guess that's just the way things panned out in a world filled with walking, talking monsters. Data attribute seemed like it made sense after all for Helvetica to be… though wonder what stuff like Mao’s forms were?
”You seem to be pretty knowledgeable ay least about this kinda stuff… Out of curiosity, do you know what Arkadimon’s attribute is? That is one of my friend’s Spirit forms.” The girl briefly pulled up her Digivice, for a moment staring at it… Actually, didn’t this thing had a scanner or something? She remembered seeing it get pulled out once, but she couldn’t for the life of her figure out how to do it herself. ”Don’t these things have like a scanner to tell what attributes are or something?”

"Mhm! The heat's got a nice kick to it!" Syre shared a chuckle with the rookie, clearly enjoying Helvetica's company. Perhaps Akari would note that the cat seemed just a bit more animated when conversing with the Flitmon rather than her - was it just because they could connect easier as Digimon, or was there something else to it?
Well, maybe it wasn't worth picking too much at that thought for now. 'Blood types' was probably a better analogy than DNA, though Syre gave a nod either way. "So these 'blood types' indicate how medicine is used in the real world? Interesting... is there a way to tell if you have one type or another?" Syre obviously couldn't tell, at a glance.
The next question, though, just made Syre chuckle a bit! "Well, Flitmon certainly isn't common, but very few Digimon are exactly one of a kind. I think, naturally, they compete with Tinkermon for territory in the Timberlands... though I could be remembering something else." Yeah, Syre hadn't hit the books too hard on the subject, so all she could really do was throw out theories.
Case in point, Arkadimon. "The spider-lady? No, no, wait, that's Arukenimon..." Syre hummed, trying to bring it up front to her head. Dr. Mikemon would have immediately answered 'Virus' - and would have added that Arkadimon was one of the two most unstable Digimon in the Digital World, tied with the Meicoomon line. But Arkadimon was so rare that Syre was just drawing a blank! "Sorry, don't think I could help you there - oh, but yes, the Digivice would show you. Try it out if you want."
And if Akari took that offer and scanned Syre's data, she'd see a yellow diamond next to the name, along with the shorthand 'VI'. Handy, yes - and if she tried it on Flitmon, she'd also see the same, despite Syre's earlier guess!
Well, her eyes weren't perfect, and definitely not her dad's.

It had not gone unnoticed to Akari that the pair of Digimon seemed to overall get along better... Maybe it was just Helvetica's sunny nature that helped her get along so nicely with Syre... That or it was her own abrasive nature that made the Flitmon look good in comparison.
Nah. It wasn't her fault she was like this. She just was.
In regards to bloodtypes, Akari wouldn't have been lying if she said she had frankly not much of an idea how it all worked out. "Well, for one its definitely not something you can just look at a glance and know what it is... Usually people just kinda have to send a blood sample to a professional." the girl guessed. In retrospect, it probably WAS a bit odd for Digimon... they didn't seem to bleed like humans did
"I never would have imagined territory wars between fairies, not gonna lie... Though I get the feeling its not particularly like the ones at home with the Yakuza. God's sake, Helvetica attacks with butterflies." Akari somewhat dully mused at the mention of the rivalry Tinkermon and Flitmon had. She wondered what other bizarre relationships occurred between opposing species of Digimon.
"They're deadly butterflies." Helvetica added on, huffing somewhat proudly as she seemed to finish the candy. Regardless, if Akari wanted to know what an Arkadimon's attribute was... she should do what Syre recommended!"Oh! Why not try it on us?" the Rookie suggested, waving her hand excitably.
Akari's mouth mildly frowned, but she soon relented as she tried fiddling with the Digivice some more... turns out, all she needed to do was point it at Syre to get a result! "... Huh. So you're a Virus and a... Nightmare Soldier?" the girl curiously spoke towards Syre, not having much an idea as to what the family category meant... maybe more accurately a genus? She couldn't help but laugh at the small description it gave of BlackTailmon being evil... if only just because it seemed extremely ham-fisted. "Thing says you guys are evil. I guess Digivices are racist." she chuckled before soon trying a scan of the Flitmon.
F̴l͝it͜mon
Attribute: VI - Virus Family: WG - Wind Guardian Level: Rookie
Akari paused... actually unsure for a moment if she read it right... but nope. Despite the buggy text, it was saying Helvetica was a Virus. "Errr... is this thing bugging out or something?" she couldn't help but ask, showing Syre the results.

"Mm, interesting. So its something no-one would ever know if you didn't think to check..." It must have been much less important in the human world to know what one's effective type was, then? She'd never heard anyone at the library talk about blood types, so this was new to her.
New, but not as interesting as deadly attacking butterflies! Hearing the Flitmon's pride in her power, the cat couldn't help but chuckle! "Heh, you go, girl." Playing a bit into that pride, Syre's ear flicked at Helvetica's excitement over the sensor. Right, it was at least somewhat interesting: feeling her fur bristle slightly at the feel of the sensor, Akari would get all the information she could: a Champion level, Virus-Type Nightmare Soldier! Syre gave a nervous chuckle at Akari's confusion. "Yeah, that's the family. Essentially, my species is a 'virus-infected' Gatomon, so the family and the attribute should be the opposite of that. But... shoot, it really says evil?" The cat sighed, shaking her head. Why did that piece of plastic have to be so mean?
Next was the Flitmon, and even Syre was a bit surprised by the reading. "Virus? Guess I was wrong - most forest-type Digimon, especially 'Wind Guardians', tend to fall under Data. Some of the plants are vaccine and some of the insects are virus - oh, that might be it, she uses butterflies, right?" It clicked in her head, at least somewhat, so it wasn't too impossible.
Before she could get too far into it, though, the long-awaited sound of a Trailmon whistle began to blow in the distance - the sight of smoke and that robin-faced vehicle quickly coming into view! "Oh, there's our ride!"

Again, Akari supposed she should be thankful that Helvetica seemed to get along so well with Syre. She was somewhat unsure this conversation would have lasted as long as it did otherwise.
“So Gatomon would be a Vaccine normally, huh?” Akari humbly guessed, figuring that the white-furred felines she has seen around were at least that rather than a Data. Vaccine attribute seemed like frilly, holy stuff if she had to guess… what a naive individual may label as “good”. But was the Digivice right about Syre being evil? Frankly, she kinda was doubtful. “Well, maybe it might mean a metaphoric evil rather than your own morality. Many role-playing games I play treat it in the vain of an elemental type… like darkness for instance. What I am saying is, not everything that is dark is bad; likewise not everything that is light is good.”
“I guess it goes to show you can’t judge a book by its cover.” added on, humming softly at the relief that Syre wasn’t evil evil… The feline was too nice to be evil evil! Speaking of misjudged book covers, even the fairy was caught off guard by the fact that she was a Virus. “Huh… I don’t feel Virus-y… but maybe that is why I liked the candy Syre gave me.”
“Or…” the girl hummed… Suddenly what happened back then with that Arukenimon made a lot more sense. At the same time, she wasn’t gonna just say it out loud… not in front of Hel’s new friend. “Well, I will be frank… You don’t exactly look like much of a Virus. Maybe that is a blessing; I get the feeling attributes cause some abrasion amongst Digimon.” If Digimon were like humans in personality, there was surely going to be petty friction like racism… especially among a race with actual classifications such as attributes.
Oh good, their ride was finally getting here! Guess having someone to talk to helped pass time. “We’ll be just riding until it drops us off at Shibuya’s Trailmon Station. Care if we try and find a seat next to one another?” The good thing about the Trailmon was that seating was generally fairly plentiful… Guess since not every Digimon had the patience or even need to ride one, unlike the thousands of Shibuya residents who had to endure taking the train everyday.
Regardless, Akari and Helvetica were ready to board.

"Mm? Oh, yes, normal Gatomon are vaccine." There wasn't really an 'opposite' with a triangle, but the biased guess was the correct one in this case. Frankly, it usually wasn't hard to tell a Virus type out of a crowd, so - unfortunately - there was a lot of generalization that could be made. As Akari spoke of it in terms of an RPG, Syre followed along, if only because she'd seen a few played at the Library.
"Mhm... in the Digital World, a lot of virus types work to fight that view in the first place." Syre gave a nod to the Flitmon, blinking as she also seemed confused at her attribute. Well, it wasn't something that every Digimon knew from the onset, so it wasn't too strange? Syre didn't put much stock into it, half nodding and half shrugging at her odd attempt to console the insect.
The train distracted them from that topic, though, and they'd be set to board! "Mm, sure! I'll be getting off at the stop before your transfer." She would lead on in, and as expected, there weren't too many passengers. There was a Leomon, asleep in his chair, and a Frigimon idly looking out the window. One car back, the seats were completely empty, meaning they could talk freely.
Pulling herself up on an empty chair, Syre stifled a small yawn. "Don't know what it is about it, but these things always make me feel tired..." Maybe it was just the darker lighting, or the fact that there wasn't much to do? "You said this was your first time on your own? How long have you two been at this, otherwise?"

lIt was to say the least unfortunate that this type of needless stigma and bias existed even in a world as beautiful as this one… If Akari had a single word to state her feelings on this, it was disappointment. ”I suppose humans and Digimon aren’t as different as we look…” the girl sadly noted. If there was one thing that bothered her, it was these terrible flaws that drove man to commit countless atrocity after atrocity… and it would have been foolish to think Digimon were different.
It was at least clear though that despite Akari’s abrasive personality… there was someone who did at least care about something. The girl sensed her partner growing somewhat uncomfortable over the reveal of their attribute, patting the fae on the back. ”Don’t think too hard on it. I will personally kick the ass of anyone who tries and talk shit about you, Helvetica.” the girl whispered, earning her a smile from the Flitmon.
Regardless, the Trailmon came up; it looking like they had a bit more time before they’d all need to part ways. Besides a few oddities of passengers (it was going to take her time to get used to how diverse Digimon got), the Trailmon for the most was pretty spacious. Still, she wasn’t going to try and hide that she was not terribly experienced… How long has it been? Not very long frankly, yet she still felt close to the fairy. ”We have been partners for a month I believe. Not terribly long I admit… but she has saved my life before.”
”And I’ll do it again, Akky!” the fairy impishly giggled, her small butterfly wings fluttering idly as she sat in her seat. ”I admittingly don’t remember much about that time… It was that mean spider lady that tried hurting you, but aunt Xen was there too. I tried really hard, but… I kinda am drawing a blank.”
Akari grew quiet… It wasn’t terribly surprising that the Flitmon didn’t remember much… they seemed to had been on autopilot fighting the Arukenimon spirit wielder at the time, but she remembered clearly what happened back there. Helvetica may not remember it, but they died back there and were loaded… but something about Helvetica was ultimately too much for the Arukenimon to handle and… it didn’t end well ultimately for them. ”You fought really bravely for a Rookie against an Ultimate. Aunt Xen couldn’t have done it without you.” she instead warmly spoke as she ruffled the Flitmon’s hair.
As ludicrous as it might sound… Somehow Akari was actually quite genuine about that. She kinda had a feeling that Helvetica back there did play a crucial role in slaying that backstabbing witch, and that the fight would have been way tougher for Xenica had the Flitmon not bought some time.

That bit of cynicism wasn't misplaced - people could be terrible and those problems simply didn't go away by falling into a new world. Syre's ear flicked at that sad note, simply giving a sigh as she nodded in agreement - though she did give a bit of a smirk as Akari spoke out in Helvetica's defense. Abrasive as this human might have been, Akari definitely had a few admirable qualities!
It didn't take them long to get on the Trailmon, Syre much more familiar with the setting than Akari. She started with the small talk, helping to both keep herself awake and learn just a bit about her new friends. Only a month... "... and you've already run into trouble at least twice? Wow..." Talk about bad luck! Truth be told, the entire Digital World wasn't out to get her, but to be put in such a situation so fast, it sure as heck might have felt like it. She gave Helvetica an encouraging pat on her shoulder as she boasted: "No worries, you'll get there!"
Ultimates were tough! As for her drawing a blank, well, considering Helvetica was still here, the cat imagined that she was simply swatted out of the air while this 'Aunt Xen' spirit wielder cleaned up after them. It was part of the reason that Syre gave her number to them: this early on, Digimon and their tamers were quite fragile as a unit. But they seemed to have the right attitude about it, and more importantly, friends to watch their back!
"Oh, if you don't mind me asking, what's 'Xen' like?" Helvetica was speaking so proudly of her, so she was curious! "You close at all?"

Unlucky huh? If having been in danger twice was unlucky, what was her with all the awful stuff that happened on that fateful day? Not blessed by lady luck, that was for sure. “Not just twice… Twice on the same night. Perhaps you now understand why I am a bit pushy towards helping Helvetica get stronger… it is for both our safety.” the girl dully mused, frowning insecurely.
She hated that feeling of weakness and helplessness… It was something that made her envious of her Spirit Wielder comrades; even Mao ironically despite she being once a target for past bullying by her.
”Well, we won’t have to worry as much with Hak-...” Helvetica for a moment naively spoke, but actually caught herself realizing that this was perhaps not the time. Aunt Xenica was very diligent about keeping this Hakainushi business somewhat under the table for now… and she wanted to respect that wish. “... I guess what I am trying to say is, power in numbers! A few good friends can make all the difference.”
Akari seemed to breathe a bit easier that Helvetica caught herself… it was best not to explain what this fledgling group was to just anyone… In due time. In due time. Nonetheless, what was Xenica like? Definitely not someone she could describe in a single sentence. Akari spent a brief moment dwelling on what to say, picking her words carefully. “Xenica is what I call… a reject of society. She is not afraid to express herself, but it is ultimately society that shunned her for this and shaped her to how she is today… Ruthless, pragmatic… but charismatic. She has a good heart and I cannot ask for a more loyal friend.”
There was a damn reason why she would be willing to march to hell for Xenica, and not out of petty things such as a debt.
"Aunt Xen is a little rough, but if Akky thinks she is a good person... well, she has to be!" Helvetica added on, trusting the bug-wielding Spirit Wielder.
As Akari glanced over her shoulder to the windows of the Trailmon, she couldn’t help but find it bizarre how this was a concept. This wasn’t simply a train… this was a living being they were riding. It really was bizarre once you thought about it some. ”I gotta ask… don’t you find it odd that we’re riding a living being to our destinations? I mean, what determines a Digimon to become a species that is a living train for instance?”
