Shooting the Breeze at the Station [Akari]

"Let's see here..."
Muttering to herself, Syre's eyes briefly scanned over a Trailmon schedule, squinting as she read the small font of a newly posted schedule plastered over the main sign. Apparently, one of the Trailmon decided to open up a new line to some distant part of some woods, which ended up throwing the schedule out of whack! Still, for those that could read Digital Script, it wasn't too bit an issue: "Ah, there it is. Fifteen, twenty minutes, I guess?"
Alright, fair enough. Syre took a step back, stretching out her arms as she moved her way back to the waiting bench, sitting out in that open-air train station. Really, it was just a boarding platform - a slab of concrete cut and dropped out in the Plains, working as a pick-up and drop-off point to see the aptly named 'Greener Pastures'.
For Syre, this was just a monotonous task: go into Terminus, pick up a few things for dad or for the Library, switch trains here and then head off on a station close enough to home. She'd done it, as well as Holly and Siris, just to help out a bit around the house. Easy and boring work for her, at this point!
So, she'd wait at the station, idly pulling a piece of hard candy out of her glove, the cherry-flavored treat soon wedged between her teeth and cheek.

“Akky! Can we ride the Trailmon again?” the excitable, girlish voice of a Flitmon energetically asked the young woman they were fluttering behind; the fairy Digimon’s attention drawn to the digital railroad that could be seen for miles.
”When we get there; just hold your horses for one moment, please.” Akari somewhat exasperatedly retorted. It wasn’t that she minded the Flitmon’s presence (if anything, she valued it… much like a mother would a child), but she wasn’t used to this amount of strenuous exercise. The high school student wasn’t exactly what one would call a first-class athlete, but walking for miles to the nearest Trailmon station wasn’t too different from walking to the nearest train station back on Earth. Quieter, but that was not a bad thing.
Akari was still trying to get used to this whole Digital World thing… It was a very different experience compared to the ever-busy world of Shibuya. Everything was almost more attuned to nature itself… No sign of noxious rivers of trash or haphazardly placed garbage in-view. Terminus City was a bit closer to home in that regard, but for the most part the Digital World had won points in regards to its beauty for Akari… It was like the perfect union of nature and progress.
Still, it was hard work getting around… thank god for these Trailmon. As the tamer and her partner reached the mostly-empty station, Akari had to motion Helvetica to where the times were… The girl was not exactly linguistic enough to grasp the Digimons’ language, though it was convenient that Helvetica could read it perfectly… surprising since they were fairly young by Digimon standards. ”It will be here in a bit, Akky. Should we go sit down?” the fairy spoke, eyeing the benches with the lone BlackGatomon.
”Yeah… my calves are killing me, and it is about time we head home anyway.” Akari ended up responding, taking a deep breath as she walked over to the benches, idly glancing at Syre as she and Helvetica drew near. ”Pardon, but do you care if we sit by you?” she asked, unsure whether to address as a sir or ma’am… it was actually quite difficult to tell which was the case with most Digimon, something she was trying to adjust herself to.

Syre was used to people. Though some Digimon were wary of humans (rightfully so, in some cases), the BlackGatomon didn't bat an eye as Akari and the Flitmon made their approach. Her ear briefly flicked at the sudden higher-pitched voice of the fairy, but really, they were just another couple of people waiting at the station!
The cat did catch on to a thing or two, though, idly taking note as the tamer and the Flitmon checked the map, and how Akari mentioned that her legs were killing her. It was enough to bring a small smile to the edge of Syre's lips, nodding as she scooted down a bit to make room for the pair. "Sure, the train will be a bit." That it would, but if the train was on time, Akari would have already missed it, and would have had to wait a solid hour and a half for the next one to roll by!
She'd give a few moments for the fairy and the tamer to settle in, simply waiting as she did before. But, heck might as well give some small talk, right? Provided she wasn't interrupting anything, Syre would perk up: "I take it you two are new around here?"
Was it that obvious? Well, yeah! "Name's Syre, nice to meet you."

Honestly, you never could really expect what someone was like in the Digital World... You never really should judge people by their faces, but goddamn there were some ugly Digimon roaming around. Fortunately, the black-furred feline seemed friendly enough... Considering how Akari knew some real-life cats that were real assholes, she was thankful the digital ones didn't seem so utterly hostile. "Oh, that is a relief... I apologize, but your world is not like Shibuya in the slightest when it comes to getting around." the girl mused as she managed to sit down.
Helvetica pluckily followed not far behind Akari, taking a seat by the girl and kicking their feet excitably. It was funny really... she was a Digimon, yet didn't really know much about her homeworld actually. "Mmhmm! This is our first time here actually, at least without friends!" the fairy responded, scootching a bit closer to get an closer look at the BlackGatomon and smiling warmly at the Champion level. "Nice to meet ya, Syre! My name's Helvetica, and Akky here is my tamer!"
"I believe she can see that I am a tamer just fine, Helvetica." Akari somewhat snidely spoke towards the fairy (which earned her a giggle from the impish fae), she rolling her eyes slightly as she turned back to Syre and nodded towards her. "Akari Kinuko. Pleasure to meet you, Syre." the girl calmly greeted the feline, offering a hand for the cat to take should they go for a handshake. Was that customary to Digimon, or not? God, she didn't even really know... she was just trying her best to at least appear demure. "Anyway, yes. Helvetica and I are new to this whole thing, though I do have a good friend or two helping me learn the ropes." she ended up explaining briefly, for a moment hesitating if she could really call Xenica or Mao friends.
Well, then again you see people in a different light after fighting alongside them... least in her eyes.
"We're just heading home now since Akari has to go home to her mom and dad... I think thats what they're called?" Helvetica added on, attempting to recall what Akari explained to her about the two humans that lived in Akari's home and how she couldn't let her presence be known to them... What even was a parent anyway? There was a lot of odd traits about humanity that still confused the Rookie greatly, though she was patient enough to take it one step at a time.

"Heh..."
Shibuya? Syre wouldn't know anything about it - she hadn't stepped foot in the real world, after all! But she could still share a polite chuckle. More interesting, though, was that the Flitmon seemed just as lost as the human! The cat blinked, before she realized it: right, she was a partner Digimon, and the tamer probably found her as an egg.
Friendly, though! Syre returned a smile of her own, offering her paw to shake the man's as best as she could. "Same here." She sat back, stretching her arms briefly in that seat as Akari and Helvetica spoke, the former composed and lost, and the latter upbeat, but perhaps more lost than her tamer. "That's good - from what I've seen, tamers tend to stick with each-other for one reason or another, so you'll probably get all the help you need with this."
Her ear peaked as Helvetica spoke, and Syre nodded: "Mhm! That's pretty much what I'm doing too - just off the stop right before Terminus instead of heading all the way back to the central station." Syre spoke so plainly, but then again, she was one of the few Digimon that could say she actually had parents, or a family at all to speak of. "Um, so, how do you think of it so far?"
Syre's attention was drawn to Akari, a curious tone in her voice. It was an interesting question: brought into a strange world with someone who was practically thrust upon them as their partner must have been jarring, right? Honestly, Syre couldn't even imagine it from her perspective.

"Spirit Wielders actually. I am afraid I am the odd one out amongst our little group." Akari ended up correcting Syre... she actually did not know of many tamers firsthand, so this was somewhat relevant. She fortunately was not subject to feelings such as jealousy in regards to how people Xen or Mao could wield such powers, but it did make her somewhat feel helpless in comparison. "I wouldn't say I'm not envious of them... as bizarre as it sounds."
"Aunt Xen and Mao do look really cool while Digivolved! They're way tougher than me too." Helvetica added on. Humans were oddly mundane, but that wasn't a bad thing! It just meant they were... different from how Digimon were, at least on a surface level.
All in all, what was her opinion on the Digital World? Well, it was difficult for Akari to put it into words... at least briefly. There was still a lot about this place and Digimon she didn't even know still... but that was why she branching out like this. "It is a change of pace for me. Shibuya is a very loud and busy place... very urban. I suppose I can just appreciate the more down-to-earth vibe that the Digital Core has." the girl mused as her face reflexed slightly, dwelling on what the rest of the Digital World. "From what I understand though, this is only one of the regions of the Digital World... are any of the others different?"

"Oh..."
Sheesh, talk about jumping the gun there! Syre gave a bit of an awkward chuckle, but: "Alright, still, same-ish concept? I mean, they're experiencing something quite a bit different than you, but its still a 'new world'?" Yeah, Syre might have been digging herself a bit into a corner, there, but thankfully Helvetica was there to change the tone.
"Mm! I know a spirit wielder, too - they don't mess around when they're using those forms!" She shared in Helvetica's enthusiasm, knowing that she was a new visitor to this new world too. As for Akari, her opinions on the Digital World were relatively reserved, as she chose to focus on the more 'practical' side rather than the 'whimsical'. The fact that this place could be considered 'down-to-earth' at all might have been mind-boggling to a few other tamers.
"I hear that a lot, that the 'human world' is a more busy or crowded place or something like that. And, um..." The other regions? The cat mulled it over: "Well, sure! The south, the 'tropics', is the most like the core, but there's wild forests out to the east, a big desert off in the west, and icy mountains off to the north. You'll find Digimon there that are more comfortable with each place - so the, um, 'culture' is quite different depending on where you'd go."
She could go a lot more into detail, but how much would be too much? "They're all interesting, but the further from the core or a town, the more dangerous it can get. Some Digimon can get pretty protective of their territory..."

”I suppose. I didn’t even know either of them were Spirit Wielders until the matter forcibly brought up...” Akari ended up musing, supposing that Tamers and Spirit Wielders at least had some similarities despite their contrasting tools. She had to solely rely on Helvetica, which was partly why she was so eager to have the fae grow stronger… she needed them to be able to fend for both their sakes when things really heat up after all. ”Don’t get me wrong, I am happy to be partners with Helvetica, but I can’t say that I was not scared with my initial encounters with Digimon… We were attacked twice in one night actually.”
There was a goddamn good reason why Xenica was being way more picky about the schmucks they try recruit now… turns out hiring conniving scumbags was a really bad idea honestly.
”I mean, aunt Mao is kinda scary Spirit Digivolved… I’d hate to be on her bad side.” Helvetica also mused, remembering the small glimpse of the neet’s Human Hybrid she had. Mao was nice, but that Arkadimon form freaked her out big time. Too many eyes...
”Trust me, it was scarier when I had no idea what was going on when she was beating the shit out of the punk that ambushed us.” the lone human added, though figured it was wise not to mention that the Spirit Wielder had also killed and loaded their data… a disturbing revelation once she realized that guy was a Spirit Wielder as well. Did that make four-eyes a cannibal technically? Was Helvetica one technically one, or did her loading a enemy Spirit Wielder not count? Nonetheless, it was mildly uncomfortable to dwell on that.
So it seemed the Digital World was a wide, and highly-variable place… dangerous too. She supposed it made sense… why would a world of monsters not be dangerous? Guess all the more reason to make sure she and Helvetica were prepared if these locales were as hostile as Syre suggested they were. ”Go figure. I suppose it is good that we have some pretty strong allies then, though I’ll need to make sure Helvetica can pull her own weight… maybe see if we can hunt down some problem Digimon for their data.” the girl casually mused, not at all too bothered by the prospects of killing another Digimon for she and Helvetica’s gain. ”I was debating about seeing if we can find some hostile or feral Digimon… You know, ones that I can have Helvetica load so she can get stronger actually. A friend of mine mentioned how that was a pretty decent method overall.”
Helvetica on the other hand seemed to go quiet at the subject… Their face gaining a thoughtful and contemplative look. Not one of disapproval mind you, but enough to least make the small fairy dwell on the morality of the matter.

"Heh. I guess they're a bit more noticeable on this side - just a matter of finding a human without a partner." Syre gave a small chuckle there, keeping an ear open to the new tamer's concerns. Indeed, being in a fight was definitely a scary part of it - and these two had already been in two fights? Were they both in the human world? "Sounds like a bit of bad luck. Well... I'm sure it'll turn around at some point?"
Said the black cat crossing Akari's vision, but the irony of that was lost on Syre. She shared a smile with Helvetica: "Mm, I've a friend whose a spirit wielder, too, and her form's a bit out there. Sort of an energy being that can't even speak." So, they had that much in common. Rough as it might have been, Akari and Helvetica were still here - and that was good, but it definitely wasn't the last scrap that these two were going to get into.
Not at all, especially if Akari was going to be the one starting the fights. Honestly, that next little bit caught her off-guard. Sure, strong allies were important, but what was this tone? Helvetica had to pull her own weight? He was going to close the gap by hunting down 'problem' or 'wild' Digimon? The way he said it made it sound almost like a game - and all the sudden, Syre wasn't exactly sure if she was talking with the best of crowds. The tone turning in Helvetica's expression made it clear that she wasn't used to the idea.
"Um... word of advice, Akari? I wouldn't talk about that so openly in a city or anything." The cat managed a smile. "A slipped word here or there might put Helvetica and you in a bit more hot water than you would like." If Akari wanted to treat this like a 'dog-eat-dog' world, it was very easy to become the defenseless kitten in the midst.
Again, the irony was lost on Syre. But if it was going to be like this? "Speaking of allies, how about I give you my D-Terminal number, just in case." Syre briefly slipped down her glove, showing a metal band worn just below her left paw, before she pulled out a scrap of paper, scribbled her contact information, and handed it off to the Flitmon.
"Just in case, alright?"

"I suppose, though as Helvetica mentioned they are both far more experienced. Helvetica is only a Rookie at max, though they both can hit Ultimate level as far as I know." Akari added on to the prior topic. She wasn't going to deny she was honestly a newbie here, but that was why she wanted to assist Helvetica in catching up.
There was mild conflict however on Akari's face as the BlackGatomon seemed somewhat... perturbed by her ideas to help fuel Helvetica's growth... something that she actually did not expect really. "Really? I don't mean to sound rude, but I kinda thought you Digimon are well... kinda born to fight?" she questioned, not at all hostilely. She was just genuinely confused that there were Digimon who were against such.
"I kinda thought that too... Thats what aunt Xen told me." the Flitmon ended up adding, they quietly questioning the Spirit Wielder's former words... was the world really as "kill or be killed" as they thought it was?
"Helvetica, aunt Xen sometimes gets a bit overboard with what trash comes out of her mouth." Akari somewhat dully responded, shrugging to herself. She would have not been shocked if Xenica had not been giving her the full story... but at the same time, was that enough to dissuade her? Honestly, she was not sure at the moment... especially if she was going to be associating with this little gang idea Xenica was coming up with. "Well, I'll take your word then... though I will be frank, I've not had too much of a good impression with your kind honestly in recent encounters. My first day alone had us attacked twice actually... unprovoked I may add." the girl ended up commenting... she genuinely conflicted with the notion.
Others were willing to step on people to lift themselves up... so why couldn't they?
Despite her prior hesitation, Helvetica smilely sweetly as they wrapped their arms around Akari's arm in a childish hug... To the fairy, it was an extremely gray-area, but at the same time she was willing to do anything Akari wanted. Despite not knowing the human long, she trusted them heavily. "Thats why I wanna help Akari. Humans are squishy, aren't they? If I can maybe Digivolve to Champion level, I can protect her better." the fae spoke softly, though soon offered some contact information... to which the purple-haired fairy stared awkwardly at.
"Oh... We've not yet obtained one, though I am working on seeing if we can acquire one." Akari ended up commenting, realizing that for right now the number was somewhat useless to her at the moment. It was nonetheless a kind offer, one she was willing to accept. "I'll see if we can fix that though. I suppose it never hurts to have acquaintances." the girl mused, chuckling slightly as she took the scrap from Helvetica.

"Well, you two are just starting out, so its not too surprising." Syre simply gave a small shrug. For partner Digimon, especially, it was very rare to see one that was powerful right from the start, and those that were didn't get there through normal means - but, then again, Akari wasn't thinking about raising Helvetica through those normal means, either!
Syre could somewhat understand it, of course. Both Akari and Helvetica were relatively new to this world, and yes, they were a bunch of magical fighting monsters: "Mm, but it still takes all kinds? There are Digimon in Terminus that haven't ever raised a hand against another, and not all of us really like to fight. Push comes to shove, we do what we have to do, of course..."
But that didn't really mean that Akari should be looking to start the fights on her own. Syre's ears flattened a bit at Akari's relatively poor experience with 'her kind', the cat giving a small sigh. "Yeah... unfortunately, there's a fair number around here that simply can't stand or 'see the point' of humans. Some are scared of 'em, but most are just angry." She shook her head, hoping to at least be an example of the 'norm', rather than the exception. Maybe all Akari needed to see was the good part of the world?
Hopefully. All Syre could do now was keep an eye on them, which was what she was trying to do with giving her number to them. She tilted her head as the Flitsmon seemed confused, until Akari explained it. "O-oh! Yeah, its something you should try and pick up. You know, keep in touch with your spirit-wielder friend and all that!" Well, maybe they already had cell phones, but that would only work in the real world! She nodded at the idea of them being acquaintances, knowing that this likely wasn't the last she'd see of these two.
She hoped not, anyway, especially in Helvetica's case! "Mhm, humans are a bit 'squishy', but, well, there's something to be said about 'em still getting out there! Tamers I see aren't afraid to get right up in the thick of things, if they need to!"

So not all Digimon were as battle-hungry as she would have originally thought… She supposed that was fine; though it did seem to drive a wedge in what one may considered moral.. Of course, this all was not helped by some Digimon considering humanity a plague it seemed. “Well, it doesn’t give them the right to attack us when they see fit. Unlike you Digimon, we only get one life period.” the girl countered, crossing her arms. “I am not saying that I am actively looking to throw myself and Helvetica into wanton danger for nothing; however if my life is at stake because of the callousness or ignorance of another, I see no harm as to why we’d hold back. That is what we’d call self-defense after… it just so happens that there are spoils that go along with it.”
It all made sense, at least in her mind. Self-defense was not a crime, and if others tried to argue against it…? Well, so be it… she would do all in her power to defy those arguments.
“I mean if it is a misunderstanding, I don’t see why we can’t try and reason with them? No good person wants to hurt another if they can avoid it. ” the Flitmon mused. So there were Digimon that refused to given Akky a single chance… that didn’t seem fair, right? Still, she wanted to believe that everyone could get along if they all could just work something out.
Akari smiled at her partner’s naivety. Helvetica’s innocence was something that she was mildly jealous of, but it wasn’t something that could last. “We all can try, but sometimes you can never convince another… not without force. Sometimes even that doesn’t work. Were that the case, we would have had world peace a long time ago.” Akari solemnly explained, frowning as she softly wondered about the ultimate fate of this rotten world.
While she was true to her own convictions, what of Syre? To say that hearing the opinion of a native Digimon wasn’t intriguing to Akari was a lie. “I am curious, Syre. What is your opinion on the matter I suppose when it comes to deleting a Digimon or loading their data? I know you have mentioned others disapprove of it, but what does it all matter to you personally? When it comes down to it, would you if you could get away with it OR if it was for a good cause?” the girl ended up asking, though fairly quickly made sure to add on to it. “No offense meant of course. It is a heavy topic, and I suppose had my life not been at stake twice in recent weeks it would not be on my mind. Feel free to ignore if you don’t feel comfortable.”
Despite the Flitmon’s desires to keep to that standard of good over evil... Would she have been willing to do something like that? It meant preventing a Digimon from ever being able to be reborn… but Akari had a fair point in that humans only got one shot. “I would do whatever I can to keep Akky and innocent people safe. I just… I suppose I wish that things didn’t have to boil down to that.”
Silently, Akari wished that were the case too. Nonetheless, a D-Terminal did appear to be a useful investment for the future… she’d just have to see if she can find some way to acquire one. “I suppose we could see about getting there when we can. Find some oddjobs around Terminus City for bits. There are probably many other useful tools we could purchase to upgrade our arsenal if we ARE to venture outward more.”

But... isn't that exactly what you said before, Akari?
As Akari made her confident response, Syre was quick to pick up on her contradiction. A mere minute ago, he was talking about powering up Helvetica by loading the data of hostile or even feral Digimon, which meant that she either planned to be in danger or would be instigating the fight herself. However, Syre bit her tongue on that one, not wanting to draw the ire of a potentially dangerous tamer.
"Well, we all do what we have to do." She gave a sigh, a slight nod given to Akari's words as she danced around the point. The BlackGatomon would not comment on spoils or rewards or anything of the sort, though she would smile at Helvetica's comment! "Unfortunately, Akari's right. Some simply can't be reasoned with. If you can't figure what's going on, its better to just defend yourself."
That aside, the question was turned right on Syre. What was her opinion on deleting Digimon, or even loading their data? The question was indeed a curious one - and perhaps one Syre might have felt more comfortable answering, were it not for that one addition:
'If you could get away with it'?
No, it was clear that there was something deeper here, something eating this human up from the inside, something dangerous that could eventually bubble forth from the inside. Syre gave a small sigh: "For Digimon against Digimon, its easy. If we have to defend ourselves, deleting the adversary holds no consequence. Their data would return to the Village of Beginnings." That much was easy to say.
But for loading Digimon? "Loading data? Its something I haven't done." Syre was flat with her answer. "Its a risk, for one: data doesn't always play well or 'click' with other data in the system. Corruption or even 'infection' is possible. Besides, there's no guarantee that they would come back the same way they did before, anyway."
She gave a sigh, struggling a bit with that answer - but she at least got through it. Akari's last bit sounded good enough, though, Syre giving a smile! "Yeah, there'll be jobs through Terminus and the like! Merchants there always need a runner or two, and the very fact that Helvetica can fly'll be handy in itself!"

Syre had a fair point in regards to that Digimon could be reborn and be different… in theory, that should end any potential issues. At the same time, was it enough? “There is not a guarantee though that they would be different though… correct? If they remember their death, I worry what could happen if that grudges carries on long enough for them to attempt revenge, or worse… take out their anger on someone else. I… I am not sure what would weigh more heavily on my conscience. Denying a new life, or having my mercy lead to another’s end?” Though there was most certainly selfish intentions with it, she also genuinely was conflicted on what was right or wrong.
Cold, yes… Insidious? Definitely… but +Akari was not heartless.
Still, she supposed Syre had some merit to being somewhat hesitant about the concept… it appeared loading enemy data wasn’t completely the glamourous shortcut to getting Helvetica stronger and more prepared for the Digital World that she hoped if it was somewhat a gamble. The question was, was this always the case or were there more well-documented cases? She wanted to explore this territory for Helvetica’s sake, especially since the last thing she wanted was the fairy to suffer from her own desires. ”So from what I get is that depending on the data, it might not get along well with the host’s… Hmm. That does open up potential issues. I suppose I should see about finding some more documented material about this if we can…” the girl ended up inquiring, growing quiet and thoughtful towards the matter.
“Should we go find a doctor or something then since...?” Helvetica began to add on, though paused mid-sentence… clearly recognizing that what they were implying was exceptionally shady to the right individual. ”“Or… nevermind. Im sorry.” the Flitmon apologized, she adopting a somewhat glum expression as she gazed at Syre and Akari.
The way Akari frowned was more of mild disappointment than anger at the fairy… It was perhaps a bit on-the-nose to say something like that (especially since it more or less outright confirmed that Helvetica has loaded once)... but she could give the naive fae the benefit of the doubt. Syre seemed like a reasonable figure after all… they’d know the fairy meant no harm. “... No, its fine.” the girl ended up lightly smiling as she scruffled up the Flitmon’s hair some before glancing at Syre. ”You do seem like you know a lot about digital… I suppose would it be fair to call it medical knowledge? Wouldn’t say you look like you would, not going to lie.” she ended up politely inquiring… also since she figured a slight topic change was healthy. She wouldn’t push the matter further if she could help it.
Still, it seemed like something along the lines of finding some cheap sources of income might be do-able if what the BlackGatomon was saying was valid! ”I see… Maybe we can work on that. Might be nice to help teach Helvetica some independence… My mother always taught me that a good work-ethic carries over to many things.”
Helvetica seemed to perk up at the mention of this, actually raising her hand briefly. ”Oh! It would be kinda like being a deliveryboy like that DemiDevimon Xen has been bossing around! Except with less explosives.”
”God, I’d hope so.” the lone human muttered under her breath… clearly not terribly fond of even mentioning the tiny devil.

"There's a chance that they retain their past memories or personality, yes..." Syre couldn't deny that. Even if it was going to embolden Akari's resolve, it wasn't in the cat's heart to lie to her about the truth of the matter. "But there's also a chance that they won't remember anything about it at all, and be made into an essentially 'new' Digimon." Hence the potential redemption, but which was right? Did the wholly wicked deserve to have their presence erased from the world?
There was no right answer - at least not on a moral standpoint. On a medical, however, both the benefits and the risks were unfortunately well-documented! But here, Syre herself wouldn't be too much help: what data was 'safe', what was dangerous? It never mattered to her, she only knew the general risks. As to who would know them more specifically? Well, Akari already sniffed somewhat of a trail.
"Well, no, I'm not the science-type." The BlackGatomon managed a small smile at that, at least appreciating the change in topic. "Not me, anyway. My dad's a doctor, and he knows his fair share about data interactions." Despite it being true, she didn't reveal that her dad explicitly specialized in data interactions, as she wasn't sure how he'd handle someone like Akari - which might make things more difficult for Helvetica!
