Westminster Chimes. A sound that was all-too-familiar for literally any High School Student. It signaled the beginning of the day. And also the last call for everyone to get inside, or suffer being marked as late.
Not much else could be said regarding the situation. Yuuya felt sleepy, but well-used to the routine in front of him; get inside the big building, open his locker, get rid of his shoes, don a pair of slippers and then head for his classroom, hereby known as 1B.
Seats didn't change, so he sat at his usual seat, with his usual seating companion. A blonde exchange student from somewhere in Europe that had a twin sister who sat... somewhere in the classroom.
He could honestly not bring himself to care a lot about it. He muttered a stiff, yet polite "Good morning." to his peer. Bothersome pleasantries, but ultimately something necessary, considering that the girl who sat beside him was nice and smart. And let him borrow her notes when he asked; what else could he ask?
Maybe remember her name. Considering that he tended to forget it on a daily basis, she would probably appreciate that. If only he could be bothered to...
Anyway! The homeroom teacher entered the classroom relatively soon as well. She seemed somber but somewhat composed. "Good morning, everyone." The greeting was promptly returned, before she continued. "It pains me to say this, but it has come to my knowledge that Himura-san from 2B has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. I know that he didn't share this classroom, but I suppose everyone has the right to know, in case you were his acquaintances or friends. We'll begin class in half an hour or so."
On his stead, Yuuya couldn't avoid muttering... "Literally who?" loud enough for his peer to hear. Maybe she knew something about this 'mysterious' guy? Considering that they had been granted a sizable amount of free time, guess that the order of the day was... gossiping a bit? "Did you know him? No bells ringing over here."

The ability to be late for classes while arriving earlier than anyone at the school should be listed as a superpower. Maybe along the ability to fall asleep inside that empty classroom which knob had been broken for almost two months. Luckily, no one seemed to have noticed, which meant Hiro could get in there when his dad dropped him earlier in the morning and get some time alone. Sadly, this also meant falling asleep and waking up to go down a couple of floors and enter his own classroom before Mrs. Nakamura, their homeroom teacher, made her appearance. Not always he managed. This time around, he did.
“Good morning.” He greeted the girl who had been sitting next to him since they parceled the seats at the start of the school year. She was nice, even if she had a too-complicated last name for him to actually remember. In his head, she was ‘sleepy twin’ even if he would never come to actually call her like that.
It seemed, however, that he had arrived only to be granted some more free time. Mrs. Nakamura declared the class would be starting in half an hour. This, only after sharing news about a certain student who had disappeared. Resting his head over his hand, Hiro dwelled about it for a while. For some reason, this guy reminded him of some other poor character who had also disappeared in his favorite anime series last night. It was the story of a man who faced monsters in a foreign land by himself, managing to dodge their attacks although he was only human. If you asked Hiro, the whole thing couldn’t make less sense but somehow, it was so stupid he couldn’t stop watching it every night. Its stupidity and nonsense were like a gift that kept on giving.
Speaking of gifts, Hiro stared at his classmate for a second. His eyes went to her sweater, the one that he used to borrow as a pillow now and then to take naps. Then, his gaze went back to her. There was something that seemed to be troubling the guy. Only when the girl’s gaze had met his, he decided to speak, almost in a mutter.
“Is there… any homework due for today?”
He always managed to forget those. This girl too. But she had a sister who usually complied.
Huh. He was actually being carried by someone who was already being carried.

It seemed like there wasn't much love from the deskmates of the twins that believed in punctuality, considering neither of them were really remembered by the people that sat next to them! Though, they couldn't be disliked much, since they wouldn't be greeted by their classmates if they weren't! If only the twins knew it was because Evie would let people copy her homework.
Either way, when greeted, both would offer a,
"Good morning!"
"Morning."
to their respective partners.
It was needless to say which sounded more enthused during their greeting, and which sounded like they may have been napping while waiting for class to start.
While Yuuya wasn't really the most interesting person to be seated next to, Evie certainly didn't mind. It was kind of nice sitting by a guy who didn't call her 'gorgeous, with eyes that he could get lost in,' when prompted by the smallest prodding! Not that Evie really cared to prod the classmate much. Honestly? He seemed flat-out boring. That was okay, though. Surely, she'd be able to find something interesting about him eventually, right?
But, with news that one of the students had vanished, maybe Evie could find something new to look into today. While it hit instantly with the smarter blonde, it would take Elsie several seconds, and a mumble of, "Hi--mur--a?" before anyone would hear the pin drop. And, by a pin, it was actually meant that her hand slammed onto the desk. Mouth dropped open, while turning her head to look to Evie for some confirmation on if this was true. Except, there was a classmate in the way.
Right. There were people here.
Oh wait. New problem. Homework? "U-uhh," the less-organized sibling uttered, now trying to process two things at once. Was there homework? Was Souji missing? Was she wearing her own socks today? These were really hard questions! "N--ooo?" That didn't sound so certain. To be on the safe side, the blonde rifled through a couple of folders, before giving a sigh of relief. Sinking into her seat a bit, she added a more certain, "nope. We're good. No homework." After all, Evie made sure that both sisters passed their classes.
Meanwhile, Evie tapped her fingertips to her lip, as if debating if she wanted to cover her mouth. The corner of her lips twitched, swallowing the risk of a smile, as she heard Yuuya's question. Green eyes widened, looking to her classmate in surprised fashion. "We talked a few times. He seemed fairly sheltered." Fairly? Might have been an understatement. "I hope he didn't get lost someplace." Or, was it almost that she hoped he did? It would make things more interesting!
No. That would just be mean. But, she had to wonder if something had happened in another world, that pulled him away from this reality. Hopefully, it wasn't anything she had said! "You don't think it's because of anything scary, right?"

At least from the get-go, the blonde seemed to have more information regarding the so-called 'Himura-san' than Yuuya himself, even though that wasn't very hard. And... it wasn't very promising, all things considered. Guy seemed like a perfect nobody, meaning he could very well be his twin brother!
And, to say the least, he despised the idea of having any more direct family. He had more than enough with his extended family! Especially considering that now they were a fair bit closer than in before, given the new baby and all that...
Ugh. Not to say that his cousin was fairly annoying, and provided him with bad advice that was seemingly good in the surface. Why did he take dating advice from somebody in a dysfunctional relationship in first place? That seemed like the worst idea ever, in hindsight.
Anyway. Better to stop thinking about himself and begin thinking about the matter at hand. "Hope he didn't get kidnapped in one of those 'your rich, Nigerian grandfather just died. Come and become rich with his inheritance' deals. I've read in the newspapers that those are getting more common nowadays. Can't believe there are people that gullible, honestly."
He made a pause. Nah; that was just too outlandish. "I doubt it was anything scary, though. Maybe he decided to run away from home because the girl he liked will never reciprocate his love? That sounds more like what somebody sheltered would do. Any idea who that person could've been?"
But... those were wild guesses at best. In truth, Yuuya didn't know who the guy even was, so it wasn't like his disappearance affected him in the slightest, besides the fact that class would be shorter thanks to the teacher deciding that the whole classroom would 'pay respects' to say it in some way. Eventually, after those thirty minutes, classes began. Time for the school day to begin! And for it to end, eventually. Homeroom was a remarkably easy subject, so there wasn't a lot to cover, and was mostly the perfect time for Yuuya to just laze around and scribble random doodles on his notebook. Yet, as the bell rang...
"Remember that today's the last day for submitting or joining potential student clubs, in case any of you hadn't joined any yet. Also, remember that this year, those are mandatory. Have a nice day!"
The teacher proceeded to exit the classroom, leaving a very perplexed Yuuya in the face of this information that his brain had omitted for the longest time. Truth was that he didn't like clubs all that much, and that meant that his knowledge about them was scarce, to say the least.
"Crap." The realization had hit him a tad too hard. Not even Evie could save him from a situation like this!

Letting out a sigh of relief, Hiro just sank into his chair. “Thank you.” He hissed. He literally had no clue if there was any homework due for the day, so these were good news. It meant more time for sleeping and relaxing, anyways. There was never enough of that. Yet still, judging by her initial reaction to Nakamura’s comment, it seemed like 'sleepy twin' knew this missing person. Hiro thought about asking her about him but… as usually, he decided to refrain from it.
The class finally started and it went on without anything interesting to be said about. It wasn’t as if Hiro had been awake for most of it, anyway. By the end of the hour, even if he wasn’t fast asleep, a part of him was in dreamland, so the bell brought him back. The teacher seemed to be saying something important now. Homework, maybe? He took out a pen, figuring he should probably write some of that.
But this was even worse than homework! It was something else he was totally unaware of. 'Remember'? When had she even mentioned this before? This sleeping through most of Homeroom classes wasn’t helping, really.
The grey-haired boy let out another audible sigh, as Nakamura left the classroom. “Mandatory…?” That sounded awful. Why would they force people to be in a club? Especially people who didn’t like to stay in school after classes were done for the day.
“That doesn’t sound fair to me.” Hiro crossed his arms, hissing. That wasn’t actually addressing anyone in particular.
Sports, science, music… different disciplines just went through his head as he thought on what type of club he could try joining. Ugh. All of those sounded awful. He didn’t even like to hang with the guys that liked the stuff he liked! He was absolutely hopeless. While he thought long and hard about it, his eyes found 'sleepy twin' again. He tapped his fingers over the desk, pondering about how to say this.
‘Are you a member of any club I can join?’ No. That sounded too lame. He couldn’t bring himself to say that to someone whose name he didn’t even know.
Around five minutes passed before their next teacher entered the homeroom. English and mathematics classes passed by a bit less painfully slow than the rest of the days for Hiro. Could it be related to him spending time thinking about what kind of student club could he join?
For better or worse, it was lunchtime, and everyone had started leaving the classroom.
He wasn't getting any other chance soon so... He just went for it. “So… are you involved with any club?” He finally did it. His eyes didn’t even meet sleepy twin’s irises as he leaned on his chair, trying to look as no concerned about it as he could.
Could Elsie interpret his desperate cry for help? He hoped she couldn’t. But she probably could.

The idea of Souji being swept away at a scam about Nigerian grandfathers elicited a giggle from the blonde. That shouldn't be funny! But it was! Maybe because Evie could actually see the guy falling for something like that! "I hope not!" Truly! Anyone who fell for that would have to be pretty dumb! "Do people actually believe in those scams?" Surely, she knew the answer, but there were some things even Evie didn't want to believe.
As far as Yuuya's next theory? Well, that was a possibility too! But, yet again, one the girl didn't particularly want to believe. Especially considering her last encounter with the person in question! Giving a thoughtful hum, green eyes stared up at the ceiling for a second. "Nope!" Evie settled, lightly clapping both hands together, before resting her cheek on them. "He had a crush on an idol, but I would hope nobody would run away from home for a girl that they don't really know." Sure, she had agreed not to tell mutual friends about Souji's crush on an idol, but Yuuya didn't count! And probably didn't have anyone to tell anyway, to be honest. But, Evie wasn't going to add any further details of other crushes that may or may not have existed, that she was aware of. She'd much rather it be something bizarre, like unrequited love from someone famous!
For the moment, an innocent smile would remain on the girl's lips, as if pretending she hadn't heard Yuuya's reaction to the mandatory club deadline, and instead prepared to focus on the next lesson.
Meanwhile, things were mostly uneventful with the 'sleepy twin' and her sleepy deskmate. With both of them relieved at a lack of homework, it seemed like the day would go by easily! But, hearing the word 'mandatory' repeated from Hiro pulled Elsie from her morning daze, debating if this was another moment of concern. And, then, the twin ultimately decided that nope, she didn't care enough to be worried.
"Eh," was the only sound the wild-haired blonde made to even imply she had heard his statement, before shuffling in her seat to find a more comfortable sleeping position. Unlike the boy next to her, who debated clubs up until lunch, Elsie seemed to nap through a good portion of the day until that point! Which made it go by pretty quickly, as far as she was concerned!
But, now it was lunch time, and she was fully awake and prepared to eat. Or, to answer questions about clubs! There was another deer-in-headlights, "uhhh," while the teen debated her answer. "Nope!" Was the answer that followed soon after. Surprisingly, she didn't sound stressed at all! "I just join in on whatever Evie's doin'." Solid plan! It hadn't failed her yet!
Which prompted the next action! "Hey, Eves! We don't have a club!" 'We'? While that seemed pretty presumptuous, could she really be blamed? It wasn't like his earlier comment didn't make a lack of clubs obvious! Sorry Hiro, the cry went noticed.
The obviously more prepared blonde threw a glance to Yuuya first, before looking to her twin, and the person that she was clearly having the conversation with. "I have a club that you can both join," she stated, before turning to Yuuya again, "you're welcome to join also, if you haven't settled on a club yet. It would be fun, don't you think?" While Evie suspected that Yuuya wouldn't fall for the smile that she was giving, she suspected he wouldn't turn down an opportunity to join a club and not need to hunt one down at the last second!
"What d'you think?" Elsie immediately questioned Hiro, without even bothering to hear the details of the club herself, "you only asked 'cause you needed to join one too, right?"

All things considered, Yuuya was just entertaining baseless speculation just for this half an hour to hopefully pass more quickly. Truthfully, he couldn't care less about the fate of the so-called Himura-san, even if the blonde's commentaries were mildly intriguing, to say the least. Would he comply with that deliberate vagueness?
In a sense, that's why he didn't fancy hanging around smart people. When they decided to be helpful, they were great, but when they became cryptic and riddle-y? A complete and utter headache. "I want to believe that people don't fall for that kind of things anymore, but I guess it's not impossible? Depends on how gullible the guy is. Can't really know since I haven't met him... and it seems I won't for the foreseeable future. A pity."
His voice seemed to convey pretty clearly that, at least for him, it wasn't a pity. And if it wasn't, the small shrug that the dark-haired teen used to punctuate the sentence would surely do the trick! Idol business, however? That could be tricky as hell. Yuuya knew the basics of it, and they weren't pleasant. "Uhhhh, an idol as in. Those teenage girls that sing and dress fancily so they can gather a multitude of drooling males as their fanbase? I do hope he didn't try to do anything funny to that girl; else, I wouldn't be surprised if things had gotten dicey. I swear, I really can't understand why there's people who gets off stalking and harassing people. It's borderline unbelievable."
Anyway, better to just let the old topic rest in peace and move in to the next! Namely, classes beginning and progressing over, and over, and over again. That was what school life was about, wasn't it? Endless hours of lessons, just for... a momentary respite at lunchtime.
Yuuya was bringing out his bento box and getting ready to eat a pretty featureless lunch, when... the blonde's twin sister approached, asking for the question that had been puzzling the majority of this thread's participants students congregated up to now. And, also, provided enough of a tidbit for the dark-haired boy to remember his deskmate's name. Evie, right. Better for him to try and not forget that one the next time.
Right now, everything seemed borderline staged. For some reason, Yuuya felt like he was walking straight into a spider's web, but it wasn't like he had any other choice in the matter. After all, mandatory meant mandatory! For a second, he seemed thoughtful; it was true that he was probably going to join, but he wouldn't do so with at least some token resistance.
Jeez. This is why he didn't fancy hanging around smart people.
"That sounds... interesting. I didn't know you were in a club." He remarked, his expression unwavering. "But, what kind of club it is? There are some places I'd rather not join, no matter how desperate."
Now, Evie didn't look the type that was interested on that kind of things, but Yuuya's mind was already racing with all the possibilities of why the smarter sister had omitted to mention the nature of her 'club'. Hopefully those would be stupid worries, even if being safe never hurt.

Saying Hiro was surprised by the slovenliness ‘sleepy twin’ bestowed regarding this situation would be a bit of an understatement. Was he the only one who had super strict parents regarding school stuff? If he got scold by not joining a club and his dad found out he was going to be in serious trouble. Even if his parents usually stayed off his back regarding grades and such, they really didn’t appreciate him getting in trouble for not abiding by certain rules.
No, there had to be something else right? The answer would quickly reach him when the teenager answered his question. To this, Hiro just let out a sigh and sank in his chair even more. This ‘Evie’ had to be her sister, right? Now, he was only missing sleepy twin’s name!
“You sure are lucky.” He didn’t have someone to help him with this kind of stuff. His own sister only drooled and played with dolls. Granted, she was 5. But still…!
It seemed like the blonde was sharing some of her luck with Hiro this time. Which was, honestly, the best thing that had happened to him today. “W-We…?” Even if he was a bit surprised, he didn’t mind being included there. He didn’t mind it in the slightest. While he listened to who would pretty much be the ‘smart twin’, Hiro took out his bento. If he was going to be carried, at least he would have his lunch while doing it.
Evie seemed to have solved the narcoleptic duo’s problems! Even if it seemed like it was never a real problem for the feminine part of such duo. While being addressed by the girl, Hiro didn’t take long to answer.
“Sounds good.” He nodded. It was probably a little late to keep on with the charade, right? In any case, he would grab onto this opportunity. “I… I sleep through most of the school day so I really don’t know much about clubs. I doubt any other would even take me so I’ll definitely join your sister’s.” No point in lying. Hiro was very much aware that he didn’t have any skill that would make him fit for a club, neither had he had the intention to hide this fact.
“Shouldn’t we… ask her what is the club about, though?” The fact that Hiro was the one suggesting the important question just showed this girl could be even more laid-back than him! It didn’t change the fact that he was joining, but at least it would be good to know.
If that was the case, maybe they should go to her sister’s desk and talk about it? He didn’t really know what the procedure was from now on. Or was her sister going to come to them now? Hiro’s eyes leisurely drifted towards Evie’s seat.
“Huh.” So Yuuya was with her. Good, at least someone he kind of knew was involved in all of this.
Was it a bit late to ask sleepy twin's name now? It problably was.

Evie could really only hope that her acquaintance wasn't dumb enough to fall for scams that involved running away from home. But, was it really impossible? It seemed like he was fairly easy to sway, so maybe if someone claimed to be his idol, he'd run off! More logically, he decided to take an extended vacation in the Digital World, and hopefully didn't get himself into some sort of trouble that he was incapable of getting out of! "It is. Maybe you two could have been friends," the teen suggested, at Yuuya's 'sorrow' about never meeting Souji.
Another moment of having to face truths. The two would not have made good friends.
But, Yuuya wouldn't need to know that! It sounded like he'd never get the opportunity to even cross paths with the other guy! It was probably for the best! Especially if Souji really was an idol-stalker, since Evie's classmate didn't seem to be a huge fan of the concept! Not that she could blame him. It certainly would take a special kind of person to creep on others! Idols must have a rough life, all things considered. The paranoia would be insane! "I think some people are too dense, or self-absorbed, to realize that what they're doing is creepy," she rationalized, with a shrug. "People are strange. I bet some people actually enjoy actively stalking and harassing others. It makes you wonder what kind of lifestyle they came from, to think what they're doing is okay." Maybe, it was a product of boredom for some people! Or desperation for attention. She didn't want to think too hard on it, honestly. Even if she did pay more attention to other people than what was likely considered average, stalking was a whole new level of creepy that she didn't care to indulge too deeply into.
With that said, it was time for class and for Evie's sister to nap through the whole thing! Until class turned into lunch, at least. And, once the twin was awake, it began time for their club conversations!
Did it seem staged? Well, that would have been a pretty difficult way to stage things. Especially since Elsie had no idea what club Evie was even in! Not that she really cared. Unless it was a book club. Then, she was going to groan so much about walking into this! While Evie paused on any explanations, so that she could pull out two bento boxes, Elsie turned her focus to Hiro. "Well, now you don't have to worry about it," the wild-haired blonde grinned. "Shame there's not a napping club, huh?" If only. It was such a shame that Elsie knew that Evie wouldn't pick a club like that, even if there was one!
But, it was probably important to find out what club it was, wasn't it? There was another pause from the less prepared twin, as she debated. "Oh. Yeah. We probably should!" Good idea! Was Elsie really so lax on whatever club she joined, that she didn't even care to inquire about it?
Well, not that it mattered too much, since Yuuya was asking the question now!
"Well, now you know!" The prim-and-proper twin pointed out, with a cheerful tone. It wasn't like Yuuya knew much about her! Such as her name, up until now! Why would her deskmate have known if she was in a club? Not that she took any offense to the fact that her classmates didn't know anything. And, not like Yuuya had probably cared that he didn't know a lot about her! Then again, it was hard to indulge too much information on herself, considering the more secretive nature of another world, entirely! "One second."
Evie set her own bento on her desk, and was testing the tightness of a ribbon that was wrapped around the second. Her sibling took a few steps closer to the twin's desk before Evie tossed the second box toward her. "C-Careful!" Els squeaked, flailing to catch the object, "there's egg in there!"
"Please tell me that you didn't put a raw egg in your lunch," was the first thing that Evie could even think to respond with.
Pausing, the usually red-eyed sister awkwardly fiddled with her freshly-caught bento. "Oh. Right. It's gotta be raw to-- oh. No. It's cooked." For a moment, Evie had to wonder if it was concerning that her sibling was the one in charge of preparing their lunches. From now on, she was going to be a lot more worried about raw eggs being in her lunchbox.
A small sigh escaped the green-eyed girl's mouth, as she settled into her seat again, and watched her sibling take her food to her own desk. And, once that was taken care of, she'd finally have a chance to answer the question that everyone seemed to have! "Anyway. It's nothing too difficult. No sports, if that's what you're worried about," she added, smiling again at Yuuya. Was Hiro into sports? Evie wasn't entirely sure. But, her deskmate certainly didn't look the part! Then again, Evie didn't look the part of a sports-club person, either!
Not that Evie was too concerned about people backing out now, anyway. She'd gotten agreement from two of the three people involved! Surely, they wouldn't change their minds upon hearing what they were doing! Surely they didn't have time to change their minds to find an open club that would take them. "Actually. It's the student council! Interested?"
Surely, the club's reveal would be more interesting than anyone finding out the 'sleepy twin's' name, right? Maybe it would be stated soon enough, anyway!

It was relatively pointless to keep on discussing the matter at hand. Whatever had happened to Souji and for whatever reason, it was probably his doing to some extent. "Who knows. In a sense, I'm glad I won't be able to find out." Repeating his previous shrug would be really pointless, so Yuuya left it at that.
As unpleasant as the teenager was, being a creeper was leagues above all his insufferable personality traits; mostly because he couldn't really get in trouble with the police regarding them. In a sense, that was a relief. "Maybe they don't know what else to do with their time, and it makes them feel better about themselves. More people should make an effort and get proper lives if you ask me. At least the average person would be more interesting that way."
Not like he was a 'people person', but maybe it had to do with the vast amount of them being extremely dull? Those thoughts didn't even deserve to be entertained anyway, at least as far as Yuuya was concerned. Instead, his attention focused on the smart blonde, and how she progressively began to address the questions regarding her 'club'. Truthfully? He had his reservations; considering how she seemed to take her sweet time at explaining, the teenager almost felt like he was walking in a trap of some sort.
Eh, whatever. He would bite the bait. Yuuya seemed to be somewhat surprised at how much of a fuss the girls were making about the lunches. Figuring that Evie would reveal the information when she pleased, he just proceeded to ask. "What's wrong with raw eggs? I wouldn't mind having one on my rice right now. At least it would taste a little better that way."
Guess that being an exchange student could also be associated with having rather bad culinary tastes? Pondering in between bites, he remained silent until the next tidbit was revealed. 'No sports'. Well, at least that wasn't too bad. "I don't mind non-physical sports, honestly." He added, somewhat lazily. Was that even a good reply?
No time to ponder that. The grand reveal came soon enough. That was... interesting. A small sigh escaped Yuuya's lips before the next question was uttered. "Guess it's too soon to ask what position we would occupy, right? I'm game as long as I don't end up being the janitor or something. That'd be boring."
He had to cover his bases, after all!

It sure was delicious but… wasn’t his mom trying too hard? Hiro pondered about this while he used his chopsticks to take a bite at his chicken. His bento had it accompanied with scrambled eggs and sliced fruit. It really looked like it had taken a lot of work to prepare. Not that he could complain, really. All of this time his mom spent watching the cooking channel was finally giving revenues.
A napping club… there is something he could join. “What…?” He actually hesitated before he kept going with this conversation. “… what would you do in a napping club? Make sure everyone gets the sleep they deserve?” No, he wasn’t kidding. He just had let a bit of his weird self out and had actually started thinking on how a napping club would work. In the end, most of Hiro’s thoughts were funneled towards something that couldn’t really bring any real benefit to him or others. Just idle, useless thoughts that went nowhere.
While he ate, he listened to the twins talk about their own bentos. They both seemed to have an interesting dynamic, no doubt. Even if it all sounded too exhausting for Hiro. Having to coexist with someone so different and basically do everything together was just too much for him to handle. Evie seemed to have everything under control, while Sleepy Twin™ seemed to be the laid back type. No wonder why she was such a good deskmate.
While the green-eyed twin discarded the idea of it being a sports club, Hiro stared at the Sleepy Twin one or two seconds longer than he should have. He wanted to ask something, but he refrained from doing it. Instead, he decided to ask something a tad more interesting. “You cooked your own lunch?” He asked, blinking twice. Well, apparently there was something that she was good at. That was a lot more than what could be said about Hiro. Of course, assuming the lunch was actually good was probably a bit of a long shot, even if from where he was sitting it looked well cooked, overall.
In more amusing topics… had Evie just assumed Yuuya was bad at sports? Hiro couldn’t help but snicker for a second or two after hearing this. He could only wonder what was she based on to say this. Time for the important stuff to be discussed, though! she had definitely taken her time, but Evie was finally telling them what club were they joining. The grey-haired boy laid back a bit to listen to it properly.
And… he was basically as clueless as he was before listening to the smarter of the siblings.
“What do… Uhm…” Hiro addressed the twin sitting by his side. It was a bit embarrassing to ask this, but… “… what do people exactly do in a student council?”
Yes, he was actually that oblivious towards everything. Was he asking the right person, though?

While Evie had to agree with Yuuya's theory about people without anything better to do than stalk people, she had decided that the conversation was nearing its end and, from what she had established from sitting next to this boy, he wasn't keen on drawing topics out for longer than necessary! So, instead, she'd give a nod and chime, "I agree," before allowing class to begin properly!
And, of course, lunch time would soon follow. Which was the most important time of the school day!
"Well, yeah," Elsie stated, without missing a beat. What else would nap clubs be for? "I mean, if it needed to be more interactive or somethin', we could take naps and discuss our dreams? Or discuss how hard it is to nap on a desk." Apparently, Elsie wasn't going to mind Hiro having a weird side. She was just going to match it! "Did'ja know that taking a nap can improve your memory, alertness, and performance?" That seemed like solid enough logic for a nap club! Giving a yawn at the mere thought, the lazy twin tilted her head to the side to subtly stretch. "At least, that's what Evie told me." During time that Elsie could have spent napping, no less!
But, now it was time for food. And, apparently questions regarding food! First response came from Evie, at Yuuya's inquiry. There was a tiny scrunch of her nose, trying to mask her distaste. After all, it wasn't like she wanted to insult his lack of taste! "I'm not a fan of a lot of uncooked foods."
"You should see her with sushi. She, like, only eats the crabstick ones. You know. The kind that are cooked. Or fake crab." Well, it was pretty obvious that Elsie was going to keep herself in every available conversation going on right now!
This left the green-eyed sibling fidgeting with her bento for a moment, before finally opening it. "I don't like the texture. Fish and eggs both are slimy before being cooked." Maybe the nose-scrunch was more obvious now. Slimy food wasn't Evie's friend. Was it a childhood trauma from Elsie surely trapping her sibling in literally slimy situations, or did food actually just taste better without a slime-layer? Only Evie would know!
Would Elsie have noticed Hiro's staring? Debatable. Maybe, if Evie hadn't been distracted with defending her tastebuds, she would have, though! Instead, focus was only caught once the cooking question was presented! "Yeah! I make all of our lunches. And most dinners." Didn't that seem like a lot of responsibility for a fifteen year old? Ah well. It definitely looked well-made! "It's kind of fun trying all these bento idea things I find online, you know?" Not to stereotype on Hiro being a guy, but... No. He probably didn't know. He certainly didn't strike Elsie as the 'chef' type!
Inside the bento, if either boy would look when the twins opened them, they would see Tamagoyaki, wontons, a few apple peices cut into rabbit-shapes, and... panda-shaped onigiri. Yep, this was obviously made by a girl. It also included some interesting, tiny balls that seemed made of dough; one of which was immediately plucked up by the sibling who didn't make any of the meal. "Elsie," she finally revealed as the sleepy twin's name called out, raising it for the wild-haired sibling to see, "is this supposed to be a pancake ball?" It smelled kind of like pancakes. And it felt like pancakes!
"Yeah. It's full of chocolate. I love the internet."
It seemed that maybe Elsie shouldn't be allowed to search random recipes online.
While Evie continued to prod at the mysterious pancake-dessert for another moment, her sibling shifted her bento to be within easy reach of Hiro. "You wanna try anything? I promise it's good!" Would Elsie ever lie to anyone?
...Regardless of the answer to that, Evie would shift her bento so that Yuuya could also reach it. "Would you like to try one of these... pancake entities?" Did Yuuya like sweets? If he tried it (and liked pancakes and chocolate), he'd probably find it to be surprisingly good! At least, considering that would eventually be Evie's consensus on it!
Elsie was actually a pretty good cook! Aside from the one time she tried to stuff onigiri with whatever she found in the cupboards. That day, Evie learned that grape jelly didn't taste good with rice. And that, out of all of the strange combinations she had tried that day, the least terrifying had been hot dogs. Some things just shouldn't be smashed into rice. Luckily, there had been plenty of warning before she bit into any of those! And, no raw fish was involved.
But, it was really time to focus on the other important things here! Like clubs! Especially since those were mandatory, and all. "You don't need to be a janitor. Is there some sort of role you'd like?" Surely, that would answer the black-haired boy's question well enough! Evie wasn't one to make roles for people when she hadn't been sure, until now, if they were joining! And, to answer the question that came from Hiro? "Student council--"
"Don't they, like, rule the school, are mostly rich people, and stuff like that?"
"You watch too much anime," Evie sighed, brushing some of her hair behind her ear. "Student council mostly keeps everything organized, plans and runs events. We kind of represent the interest of students. It's a pretty important thing." Funny how 'interest' probably didn't suit Yuuya all that much! Or Hiro, for that matter. Or...
Okay. Evie might actually be the only one with interest. Whatever. Close enough. "Student council also helps out other clubs or students, if they need to. And can act as a liaison between students and teachers." Maybe this was sounding like too much effort. But, how often would they really be needed anyway? Thinking on any other points, the green-eyed girl shifted her attention to Yuuya again, "can you think of anything I might have missed, to explain student council?"
Of course she wasn't going to trust Elsie to answer that. It was clear that there were at least two members of this group that didn't really know anything about student council! Would Yuuya make a third, or would he have a bit more insight?

All things considered, the meeting was progressing relatively smoothly. Sides the fact that Evie's taste on food was far from optimal, there wasn't much to note regarding the conversation at hand; it seemed like Elsie was the twin with the cooking skills, which seemed to both make sense and not really at the same time.
Those two sisters were really something; no wonder they stood out more than most foreigners did. No point on those idle thoughts, however. For a second, Yuuya stared empty-eyed at his deskmate's offer; it took him a second to register what was happening. His opinion? The dark-haired boy's chopsticks were already firmly gripping one of the 'pancakes' before his mouth began moving.
"Sure thing. They look pretty interesting." All in all, while chocolate wasn't Yuuya's lifeforce, he wasn't an overly picky person. Add to that his lunch being the blandest thing ever, and you got a winning combination right there. Things as they were.
Now, regarding the council? Yuuya wasn't sure about what post he wanted to take. Of course, the best would be working the smallest amount of time possible while still being considered productive, but that was probably a fantasy. So, for now, he focused on Evie's half-question. Something that was responded initially with a nod.
"That was pretty comprehensive. Can't think of anything else that the council does, besides acting as babysitters for on class trips, even though that's minor. That's pretty much it."
All in all, while it was work to do that Yuuya hadn't expected to do, but that was ultimately there, and it wasn't like he was being given a too much of a choice, anyway. Before he could keep on wandering on her thoughts. A somewhat short, dark-haired girl entered the room and made a beeline towards where Evie was.
"Council's first meeting of the year is today. Don't be late." While everyone present would've perceived that tone as borderline threatening, both blondes probably identified it as the girl's usual pitch. Crimson eyes danced around for a second, a slight frown making her way towards her face when Elsie entered her line of sight. Without much else to say, the mysterious visitor just turned and retraced her steps, back to her classroom.
Yuuya, while somewhat puzzled by the event, just identified the girl as somebody from the neighboring class, and that probably was a member of the council as well. She seemed to be... pretty peculiar, even though he decided to give that not a lot of importance.
"Who is she?" He idly asked, not really expecting a response, but not minding if he got one.
The rest of the lunch and of the school day would proceed without a hitch. Soon enough, classes were over, and that could only mean one thing.

Listening to sleepy twin go, Hiro’s expression changed one bit. Was that a… smirk? It was good to know he could slide one or two weird comments with her playing along just fine. Her piece of insight was actually rather interesting, for what he concerned. It was also very funny how she was saying ‘We’, assuming they would be together in such association. “I don’t think it’s hard for you to nap on a desk, so if the hierarchy was based on how easily can a member fall asleep, I think you would be pretty high above.” Taking a couple of bites with his chopsticks, he leaned his back against the chair.
“Well, I would say your sister is trustworthy enough.” He couldn’t say he had read that anywhere and although it sounded logical, it wasn’t like any piece of information would make him nap any less, or any more, for that matter.
When it came to things that weren’t cooked, Hiro could somewhat relate to Evie’s point of view. Although there were some raw meals he could enjoy, eggs were definitely not in that list. Right now, it seemed like the conversation was being shared between four. The silence in the classroom, with it being half-empty, allowed that.
“That’s nice. I’m a terrible cook.” Which shouldn’t be surprising at this point. And much like she had thought: no, he didn’t know. Not because he was a guy, but mainly because he was Hiro. “You find bento ideas… online?” That wasn’t too different from what his mom did, honestly. Sleepy twin seemed to actually enjoy doing this and although he didn’t share her eagerness towards this particular subject, it was… nice to see her motivated. Now a real smirk had appeared on his face. “Well, I’m usually not too reluctant to try new food, so I could help you by tasting all of these ideas you find online.” That was a good way of helping her, wasn’t it? Probably not, considering she could try those herself. Two mouths were better than one, maybe? … That sounded weird.
ELSIE! At last, he knew the girl’s name now.
Hiro blinked twice, staring at the bento for a second or two. “Sure.” Although hesitant, he tried his best to avoid being rude. He had just said he was open to trying Elsie’s food, so he had to stick to those words. Besides, it really looked good. Tamagoyaki wasn’t his favorite and tasting a piece of apple wouldn’t really be enough to tell how good was her cooking right? He really liked wonton, but he also was curious on trying those balls made of dough so…
“I-it’s good.” It was. He was trying his best to not be too expressive and look weird, but it was actually delicious. “Great job.” Of course, this brought a question to the table. “Isn’t there a cooking club?” He really didn’t know, but at least Elsie was actually good at something and that sounded like a place where she would fit better.
Regardless of the outcome of this, Hiro would listen to Evie and Yuuya as they explained how the student council worked. Help out and babysit other clubs and students? He couldn’t even help himself! Maybe it wasn’t a lot of work, but the very little amount of work there was to do, sounded hard for him. It wasn’t like he really had much of a choice, honestly.
Hiro let out a sigh, closing his eyes now that he was done with his own meal. Then, a short-haired girl appeared, speaking of a first meeting of the year for the student council. Did he know this girl? She looked oddly familiar. In any case, it seemed like his afternoon had gotten busy. What a drag.
The rest of the classes went by without anything to remark. Before Hiro knew it, the afternoon sun entered the classroom through the window. As everyone got their things back inside their backpacks, Hiro prepared to follow Elsie wherever they were going. It was likely she was going to follow Evie, anyways. They had a meeting, after all.

Sure, Elsie was saying 'we'! If she started up a nap club, Hiro would be one of the most logical people to invite! Primarily because she knew he slept through class much like she did! And, she was too busy sleeping to know if anyone else was doing the same thing! "I can sleep just about anywhere," she confirmed, thinking on it. Elsie would make the best president of the nap club! But, it would probably be too much responsibility! Even if everyone just used it as a sleep time!
At least napping skills wasn't the only thing Elsie had! She could also cook! "Yeah! There's a ton of fun recipes online! I have, like, a folder full of bookmarks on my computer." It was probably the only 'productive' folder on her entire computer! The rest of the bookmarks were surely questionable content or animals doing funny things, knowing Elsie! But! Now she was being offered a taste-tester other than Evie!
There was a moment of pondering before the blonde flashed a smile. "Sure!" After all, Evie flat-out wasn't willing to try certain foods! This could expand her horizons. "D'you want me to just bring in stuff I make, or wanna swap phone numbers and you can come over sometime when I'm making stuff?" What? Inviting people over? Weird.
Would Hiro think it was weird, too?
Turning her head away from the conversation between Elsie and Hiro, Evie would find herself facing Yuuya a bit better -- possibly making him the only one to see a small smirk twitching at the corners of the innocent twin's lips. But, she regained composure to a much sweeter smile almost immediately. Perhaps, she knew Yuuya probably wouldn't care about any expression she made! Instead, he could care about the offering of food! "What do you think of it?" After all! Even Evie was curious! Granted, at least one person already voiced their opinion on the snack!
"Thanks!" The "chef"-twin chimed. For a moment, she paused to think about the potential of a cooking club. There probably was, wasn't there? "Yeah, but the girls who join that are kind'a weird." Or really weird. Like 'baking food for my love' type of weird. Elsie didn't want to get caught in whatever mess that was!
But, a newcomer was approaching! Or, not-so-new, considering the twins looked fully aware of who this person was. Elsie immediately scrunched her face in the direction of the prickly girl, before looking at the ceiling, while Evie's smile widened a bit. Tilting her head, the prim and proper twin chirped, "I would never," before the other girl was already gone.
Smile remaining, Evie actually provided the answer that Yuuya didn't expect! "That was Yama. She's part of the student council," cheerful demeanor unfaltering, Eves added, "I've tried to convince her to loosen up a bit, but it may be a lost cause!" Good thing the twin waited until Yama was out of earshot for that! "You know, the saying: all work and no play." Which, simply meant that Evie found Yama to be a dull person, didn't it? "She's really not bad, as long as you don't break any rules!" This almost seemed pointed at Elsie, considering green eyes were trained on the sibling as she spoke. Did sleeping in class also count as a broken rule? Probably.
But, once class was done, there was only one thing left to do! Gathering their things, the twins waited for their new club-mates to be ready to exit the class, before Evie would lead them to their meeting place. Were they all excited to become part of student council?
She doubted it, but one could only hope!
