Here comes the wind.
Yomi could hear a voice ringing inside of her mindscape, as she watched the battle unravel. It was ethereal, inhuman, and forceful. And yet, there was no anger to it right now. Instead, it sounded... eager, somehow. Both for the attack coming at the Renamon, and for showing what to do against it to ... her. The girl could feel it somehow. The intention of this fight was... to show to her what the body was capable of.
The moment the airwave took to reach its target, the Renamon fell on the ground, prone. Minimizing its surface area to nothing, and putting arms in front of the head. The wave passed over, pushing the digimon against the ground and scathing the arms, lightly. But most of the blow, rookie or otherwise, passed by, harmless. The moment the wave passed, the fox burst with increased speed. And her destination was ... Kathy!
The Renamon would appear right behind her, and wrap one of its arms under the girl's chest and under her arms, easily lifting the petite female off the ground. The spear it held in hand was lobbed at Chokkaimon! The dark projectile traveled through the air like a bolt of lightning, aimed at the digimon's leg, opposite to the center of mass of that large hammer, to make it harder to block the way she did the previous throw.
Inside the mindscape, Yomi screamed, slamming her fists against the "screens".
"No! Let her go!"
Living shield.
The voice inside her head replied. It made Yomi stagger a few paces back. Living shield... That's what this was about. The renamon, or... whoever was controlling it, did not have the intention of hurting Kathy. He's using her to prevent Chokkaimon from attacking him...
Ruthless. But... not without logic.

Smart! That’s the only way Jazz could define such a tactic. The Renamon had squelched itself onto the ground to avoid being hurt by Jazz’s wind. And it had worked amazingly. The Cho-Hakkaimon’s eyes widened as she saw this superb display of battle knowledge, and a smirk appeared on her face.
From down below. That’s where the wind should come from to get her. The Cho-Hakkaimon lifted her mallet again. The drills started spinning and she prepared to throw an attack the Renamon could most definitely not avoid. But…!
“Crap!” She shouldn’t have taken the hit of that spear. Those things hurt like hell! A sting of pain in her arm made her clench her teeth and stop her movement, giving Renamon the room of time she needed to get to the human.
Katherine tried to move and avoid the fox from grasping her, but she was too fast for that. Another spear had been thrown Jazz’s way. This one was a direct hit. “Aghh…!” She groaned in pain, clenching her teeth to refrain herself from screaming louder.
Her eyes tried to focus on the thing holding her partner. Katherine had been hurt by a digimon before. Naturally, Jazz had made the necessary changes in her priorities to always protect Katherine above everything else.
“Jaenryu…” She muttered, staring at the black fox. The fire spirit Akane had inserted into Jazz and Jazz herself had inserted into Katherine. She hadn’t been forced to use this before, but this was likely the time for it.
Or not…? Before Jazz could wake the fire spirit living within her tamer, Katherine had thrashed and kicked the Renamon with the back of her foot herself. The Cho-Hakkaimon leered at her partner and... she seemed angry. Angered was definitely not one of Katherine's regular moods, so this was definitely an oddity. Would that be enough or would the need a bit of ancient help?
In any case, Jazz’s suit was getting… thinner. Her Roketto Dingpa had disappeared and white smoke had started to come out of her robotic pig parts, making them tight to her body.
As if she was a light feather, Jazz had started bouncing in the same spot, ready to move. She felt so light now!

"Grrr."
The Renamon growled as the girl within its grasp started kicking and struggling, landing a couple of blows against the fox's leg in an attempt to free herself. It would not let go though, not now. She was a tactical advantage - a weakness of Chokkaimon that could be utilized in battle. Perhaps this entire fight showcased it - a small, weak, squishy human, during a fight, was ... a target. But the frenzied digimon would not be deterred from the outside. Instead... it would be attacked from within.
"LET. HER. GO."
From inside the mindscape, Yomi slammed her fist against one of the 'screens' with all of her strength she could muster. Again and again. After a few of these strikes, the fist would sink in. It would be hard to push or pull the hand out of it, as it felt like trying to force oneself through glue or gel. But inside, she could feel, were ... strings. Strings she could reach to and grab. When she did, the Renamon froze. One of its eyes's lights blinking, and changing color from red to blue, once more.
"You're... fighting me? ... Good."
The sinister voice sounded almost... approving. But it was not over yet. Still, Yomi managed to relinquish the spirit's control of the body long enough to let go of Kathy, instead pushing her away, roughly, practically throwing the girl as far from herself as she could. Then, the Renamon looked at Chokkaimon again. The hammer was gone, the armor was discarded. Was she... surrendering?
"No... she's challenging you. She's challenging... us."
The Renamon accepted the challenge, it seemed. It did not conjure yet another weapon, nor did it run to reclaim the hostage or make distance. Instead, it dropped into a fighting stance, similar to those of oriental martial artists. And waited for the opponent... to make the first move.

Right now, Jazz could see Katherine was doing everything to not feel useless. The pig-girl stared with her eyes wide open at her partner thrashing and trying to set herself free from the fox’s grasp. Upon noticing it wasn’t going to work, Jazz was prepared to lift one of her paws and scorch the Renamon with a burst of burning fire. But… it wasn’t necessary. Katherine was released, pushing a button in her digivice she stood up to move out of the way again, coughing.
What was that? Jazz could tell that wasn’t the result of Katherine’s effort. Something had made the Renamon let go of her. But… what was it?
“Are you okay?” Jazz checked on her partner as her body transformed into a thinner, lighter version of herself. The volume of its robot parts had greatly been reduced and these pieces have tightened up to her body. The transformation was complete. The Cho-Hakkaimon bounced at the same spot repeatedly, showing how her body was extremely lightweight now. She moved her neck, producing a cracking sound, a smirk forming on her lips.
“Are you finally done with your antics?” She asked. “Are you going to fight me one on one now?” This Renamon had pushed her closer to her limit than what she expected. For being a rookie, it was extremely dangerous. Yomi’s spirit was so relentless when fighting that the sole thought of how strong could she be as a Champion was both thrilling and enervating. But… all things must come to an end.
Katherine nodded at Jazz's question. Then, she uttered a single word. "Go!"
Using her right foot by pressing it against the ground to then release it, Jazz propelled herself, almost like flying through the air against Yomi. She was at least three times faster than before and would reach the Renamon’s spot in the blink of an eye. Then, she would start throwing a fast-paced set of punches, attempting to clobber the Renamon. Every fist traveled towards her enemy at maximum speed but not with less might than before. Actually, if she managed to actually hit her, it would be much more painful than that punch she managed to land on the digimon when Yomi was in control. One after the other, she kept throwing punches at the Renamon, non-stop. If it tried to move away, Jazz would give chase. She could do it now; she was insanely fast. Her reflexes, her flexibility, every skill in Jazz’s set had enhanced. This was what Full Drive was all about.
Combat log:
-Full Drive!: Chohakkaimon can only use this technique if her health is below 20%. Chohakkaimon drops the Roketto Dingpa and focuses all of her energy in making herself extremely light, activating Full Drive! for three turns. Full Drive! is a transformation with the following effects: -Chohakkaimon gets a 200% boost of speed, making her extremely hard to hit. -Chohakkaimon gets a 30% boost of attack power. -Chohakkaimon cannot attack with any other technique or use her Roketto Dingpa or she will cancel Full Drive! along with all of its effects. This means, in order to keep this transformation on, she can only use physical attacks (Punches, kicks, headbutts...)

One blink.
One blink, and you'd miss it. The Renamon did not blink, but it was still hard to perceive the champion when she moved without her armor. Charging in towards the digimon with a fury of blows. The difference in levels showed. And whoever was at the wheel was reaching its limit.
She's fast...
Then, the entire chamber Yomi was at started to shake and tremble as the Renamon was being pummeled. Unable to dodge or counter, all it could do was take the strikes, putting its own arms in the way to soften the blow and avoid being knocked out cold. And while the defense would last mere seconds, it was seconds that the fox needed. A familiar sphere appeared in her hands, and then...
*KA-POOF!*
Both combatants would vanish in a puff of dark smoke, and the last blow launched by the Chokkaimon would hit nothing. The fox hurt, feeling the fists that were planted into her jaw, chest, and back still. But with the element of surprise, she was able to fight back. Her now armor-less opponent would face a leg-swipe from behind, seeking to bring her down, followed by a football kick to the face. But just as she was nearing its limits, so was the spirit, as Yomi was pushing against the screens to regain control!
I... cannot continue...

This had been a brutal face-off. The difference between their level was clear, and yet Renamon’s combat experience was truly helping her shorten the difference. This, combined with the fact Jazz knew her friend was somewhere in there and she couldn’t throw absolutely everything at her, made the combat a lot more difficult with every ticking second. This was not the case for Renamon, though. The fox was not holding anything back and was fighting as if it wanted to completely destroy Jazz. The spirit’s determination was rock solid. Of course, this included not being afraid of using whatever it was necessary to take her down.
Another cloud of smoke covered the air and the Renamon was gone again, making Jazz miss her blow and stumble some steps forward. A squeal of pain escaped Jazz upon feeling a leg-swipe that made her go straight to the ground.
As the pig-girl fell, she swiftly moved her body in the air to land in a better position, putting her two hands in front of her and bouncing right back up when she made contact with the earth, propelling herself into the air. Something she definitely could not have done in her regular form. With her eyes immediately scanning the insides of the cloud of smoke, she tried to look for any type of shape that reassembled Renamon, once (if) she did, she would throw herself against it, throwing another brutal punch and looking to finally end this.
Just a little more. She had to resist a little more and she would win.

It was like fighting a shadow.
Hard t swing at something in the smoke, constantly moving, with the irritant energy attacking the eyes. The renamon evaded strikes while dishing out her own. However, it was fighting a battle on two fronts. Both on the outside and on the inside. Yomi was getting angry, and she was pushing hard into the two portals in order to grab the 'wires' within, to take reign once more. And, bit by bit, the spirit's energy was waning. Until one moment.
"Gah!"
The renamon stopped in its tracks, just for a brief moment. And it was enough for the Chokkaimon to deliver the final blow. Yomi took it straight to the face, being propelled out of the smoke and flying towards Katherine. Hitting the ground and digging a small trench with her back along the way, before finally stopping. It let out a groan, perching itself up on its elbow, trying to stand up. The red lights in her eyes blinked a few times before going out, instead being replaced by blue once more.
"Ughh... we'll call it a draw..." - Yomi's warped voice slowly shifted back into her own, as her head fell back, the fox digimon losing consciousness. This fight drew on the spirit's resources, taking nearly all of them. As for Yomi... she did not have much to begin with.
The renamon was out cold now, battered and bruised. Poor Yomi spending more time unconscious in this world was quickly becoming a running gag,

Right when the fox stood up, Jazz’s eyes widened. She raised her arms in front of her for self-defense. Katherine, who had moved to a side when the digimon had been propelled out of the cloud of smoke, just stared at the Renamon. How long can this thing keep going? Jazz was starting to worry about the amount of energy she had left to keep this up. Luckily, they met their answer rather soon. The Renamon couldn’t continue any longer. Both Jazz and Katherine just let their rear fall onto the ground, letting out a sigh. It was finally over. Katherine’s green eyes shifted back to Jazz. “Are you okay?” She asked, while the pig-girl slowly reincorporated. “I am.” Said her partner, panting and walking towards Yomi while her suit went back to normal. She stared at the unconscious fox for some seconds, a bit perplexed. “How was her spirit so… powerful?” Katherine asked, standing up to look at the creature too. The ChoHakkaimon shook her head, slowly. "That wasn’t pure power. It didn’t hit particularly harder than a rookie. It was just a lot faster and extremely more experienced in combat.”
Actually, that made a lot of sense. “You think it was the one who fought against all of those enemies back at where we found it?”hola “I wouldn’t be surprised…” Jazz muttered, while lifting Yomi up and carrying back to the tent. In a stronger stage, it was both frightening and exciting to think about what this digimon could do. A lot more needed to be unveiled about Yomi, her spirit, and its past. Katherine just wished her friend was back soon. She needed to give her a hug. (IV) Woe is me! Yomi's spirit strikes! [COMPLETED]
