Tadayoshi and Commandramon:
"How's the machine, Commandramon?"
The dragon's reply was delayed because he was giving the machines a very thorough inspection. However, he soon concluded, "Nothing external. Just a little dirt."
"Well, that's a lesson learned - no drones near the caves."
As the last drone Commandramon inspected took off unexpectedly, the soldier alerted his General, "General, one rogue!"
"No, Top, that's me. I'm gonna send this one to Ophelia and see what she makes of the soil. She mentioned something about her D-Nexus on the train. Maybe she can confirm our theory about geothermal vents." To Ophelia he radioed, "Ophelia, I'm mailing a soil sample to you express. You're still by the spring, right? Should be there in a couple minutes." The next to hear from Tadayoshi were his patrols. "All patrol callsigns, I've got some good news: you're relieved. MetalKoromon will remain in place. The rest of you, I'm sending a drone to your position. When it gets there, come home." Four more drones departed, and Commandramon was back inside for Tadayoshi to explain, "Two hours isn't long, but it's not short either. Everyone can take a two-hour shift monitoring four feeds instead of all-day shifts on patrol. Halfway through each shift, we'll rotate the drones. Surely, someone can wake up through the night to work two hours. Over."
"I'm sure Hagurumon will be glad to hear it."
"I did say 'relieved' for a reason. Plus I'd rather keep our mechanic close at hand anyway."
"Vandal - sounds good to me. Out."
"Simple - thank you, General! Out."
"Talons 2 and 3 are glad to hear it, sir. Out."
"Wraith - Hell, yeah! Out!"
"I'll take the first shift here, Top. You're next."
"Yes, sir."
Jetmon and the Missimon:Sid was quite visibly relieved to be dismissed and so rejoined his brothers and sisters at the first opportunity, who all acted equally relieved to have him back, like he had been gone for hours without knowing where or why.
Jetmon answered, "Thank you. We were hoping to meet with Akala, actually. Can you tell us where to find him?"

Ophelia couldn't help a small smile in the Monochromon's direction with his laugh - though at the same time, she also couldn't help but wonder what it must like, to be that old, that you can't remember things as easily... Ophelia personally hoped she wouldn't start forgetting things, if she ever got to the Monochromon's age... She'd rather revert to an egg, first! Getting old like that seemed, well... It seemed like it wasn't exactly fun, to say the least.
Though, it was probably also worth considering that she was still a youngster who thought herself independent, who believed she was already enough of an adult for the world around her.
Nonetheless though, her ears - or more appropriately, one ear - would prick up as she heard Tadayoshi's voice over the radio. She was still wearing it, even if it was only one earbud, she realized; another reason she probably shouldn't go swimming anytime soon. She'd listen to what he would mention about a... Soil sample express? She wasn't totally sure what Tadayoshi was thinking, but she'd nonetheless keep an eye out then, for anything coming her way... yet again. Hopefully Sid didn't lose her badge.
In the meantime, she listened to the Monochromon's tale of how Gajuma came to be the 'mon he was now; and how the tribe wasn't always that great and equal. She couldn't help but sympathize with the Gajuma of the past a little bit, though - and why he would hate living in such a tribe during Korak's time. She was more than happy to help out and carry her weight - hell, that's what she was doing right now! - but if that meant that she'd eventually become some sort of servant when she did get too strong, then she'd run right off, too; wild digimon and leader be damned! The thought of being tied down like that had her tail lashing a little; but she otherwise was still listening to the Monochromon as he continued with his story.
And Korak was willing to kill, over Gajuma wanting to leave...? So much for strong serving the weak, she couldn't help but think to herself. It sounded as though Korak was a hypocrite who just wanted to live cozily, at least from the gist she was getting of all this. It also sounded as though Akala was a more sympathetic and fairer leader, though - so at least he was able to wrest control from Korak. She could understand why Gajuma still wanted to leave, though; by then, the damage was probably already done. Forming a territory of his own was probably the best way that both tribes could be happy, in the end - especially if they were as far apart as the map depicted them to be.
The news that Akala was Gajuma's father was a bit intriguing though, ears pricking and tail twitching, although she wasn't sure if it was necessarily shocking or anything. Just something that she should probably note down, possibly? This all was kind of interesting, though.
Ophelia would perk up as the drone made its approach though - which would make her jump a bit. What was... this... weird beetle looking thing? Ophelia would poke it with her finger, eyeballing it for a few moments, before she noticed the dirt smudged on it... Huhm... She guessed this is what Tadayoshi wanted her to check out - though it took her a good minute to recall that she could use the D-Nexus for something like this, having only ever used it for communication and mapping. Taking it out, she would scan the drone with her D-Nexus after a bit of fiddling, turning her attention back to the Monochromon as she did to talk to him whilst the scan happened.
"It sounds like Gajuma's had a shit childhood under Korak, if I'll be honest. I wouldn't blame him for wanting to run off to make a tribe of his own with other likeminded digimon." She'd start, continuing "And yeah, people're thinking that Gajuma's behind the shelter attacks - but it's kinda weird, cause we also heard that Tetsu and his partner beat Gajuma, so they should be respecting his boundaries, right?" Ophelia was mostly rattling off her thoughts at this point - but she shrugged a bit, mentioning "I dunno about you, but it just doesn't quite read right to me. He doesn't sound like he's some schemer or whatever - just someone who's sick of being treated like shit for being stronger. What do you make of the shelter attacks?"
After a moment of thought though, she realized the Monochromon might've forgotten to respond to her question about the kitchen before - adding "And you never did answer my other question - I recall smelling scents from you n' others, over in the kitchen. Do you guys like to come here to hang around?"

The systems were fine. Nothing worthy of note and interest for bero, which meant he was free to continue collecting plants. Whoop dee doo. He looked at one of the other plants that would be ready today. Rain plants, ones that generated rain. A vile idea in his first consideration, after all, rain would make keeping up his fire tiring, if not almost impossible depending on the intensity. However, he did want to check that cave… and the main danger of the cave was intense heat and possible fiery enemies. Water was a counter to that, Bero knew this better than anyone else here. He was one of those fiery enemies who’s offensive power was weakened intensely due to water.
Thinking on that… the rain plants may serve plenty defensive use here, and he was planning to play it defensive through most of his time he was forced to spend here. Survival was his priority, research was just a bonus after all. As he learned how to harvest the rain plants, a slight difficulty to it, the idea continued brewing in his skull. Water and Fire made steam. Steam would cover his escape. This might just work out!
With the gears in his head turning, he found it harder and harder to convince himself to stay here and not go exploring. He needed to know how deep the heat was, how intense it was, what level it was, what it’s source was… how he would achieve such fiery power himself. Excitement tingled across his body, creating an elated feeling comparable to a pleasant soft whisper spoken straight in audio receptors. He started hurrying up, harvesting the small meat much less carefully than he did the sirloins. He harvested some rain plants too, but made sure to harvest at least one or two of them very carefully.
He attempted to carry those with him and come with a plan to get out of the enclosure without the strategy human being able to stop him… if he’d even care at all. Bero was sure he could outpace the worst of it though. He got close to the exit which according to the map he had gotten, would lead to the caves. His cape lighting in blue fire, he rushed ahead into the jungle. His hand held the rainplants he could carry carefully, as he ran with blue crackling fire surrounding him. The moment he was close to the jungle’s trees, one of his pelt’s claw’s extended to reach to the branches and pull himself forward with elastic force! He had catapulted himself into the Forest, and used the 4 elastic limbs as best as he could to swing from the trees and dash between them, moving forward. Little blue fiery spots were left behind wherever he went, but those quickly faded as they were not powerful enough to damage most, if any data. Such began an adventure Bero was far more excited for!

"The Tribe Leader? Follow me," was all the Golden Vdramon said. But before he could leave suddenly...
"Hey what about me!?"
...He stopped dead on his track and looked at his silver partner. Homeostasis know what's running in his head, but Kin looked a bit annoyed. It's at this time that he finally understood that leaving his post would NOT be the right choice thanks to this dumbass.
"...Actually... You can follow him. I'm not sure if he can do his job right without me."
"RUDE! I DEFINITELY CAN DO IT!"
"SAY THAT AGAIN WHEN YOU CAN MEMORIZE MORE THAN TEN STUFFS FOR MORE THAN TEN MINUTES!"
Either way, looks like they're stuck with the Dumber of the two guards. Considering that he said that this guy would only remember ten stuff at times for ten minutes... the logical assumption is that they'll be led to dead end or somewhere else in the village, right? Well, thankfully not. The worst though? The yapping.
It started from the weather, to hot spring, to things he ate yesterday, to new fruits, to something else... and because he yaps on and on, it doesn't looks like they gonna have a chance to stop him. ...It was exactly ten things that he spoke of and ten minutes since he left the watch tower... and suddenly he stopped, one claw in front of his huge jaws, reminiscent of the raptor think meme.
"...Wait, what am I supposed to do again?"
Holy shit
"Do you not meant to lead our guests to me?" a voice asked. Before they knew it, looks like they already arrived to the biggest building in the village... well, if you can call that massive tent structure as a 'building'. Sitting on a bed made out of moss is a Master Tyranomon. He quickly stood up and smiled.
"Welcome, Friends. How may I help you today?"
Result of Scanning: Volcanic mineral soil. Rich in essential minerals for plant, but too low in pH for it to be optimum for growth of non-volcanic area plants. Other contents including Lavatanga Spores, trace of burn from very high level of heat (not lava), and high concentration of sulfur.
Lavatanga: A species of mushroom found in volcanic area caves. Usually more prevalent in close proximity to sulfur. A delicacy to fire-attuned Digimon. It's shaped like a boulder, only soft and with pulsating fire-red veins on its structure. Its color is reddish brown. However, its spores when inhaled in large content are known to act as form of opioid to Dragon-type, Lizard-type, and Dinosaur-type Digimon. It increases adrenaline and aggressiveness.
"It's as I thought," the Monochromon said. "No, I don't believe Gajuma is ordering any sort of that attack. He might attacked the first time the shelter was made, as it's more of his style... but if Gajuma truly lost to that kid... then he's not supposed to attack it anymore. Gajuma is a mon of his words. He won't attack, but..."
The Monochromon trailed at that. "...I'm sorry, young one... I don't know either. My opinion states that he would not attack anymore, but at the same time, what is it him? Either way, my suggestion? You go there tomorrow. Gajuma's side of the tribe is very dangerous at night. You won't reach there before nightfall, young lady."
Oh right what he's doing eh... "Ah, I was actually inspecting it with Master Akala you see. Oh I haven't introduced myself yet, eh? My name is Zam. I'm one of the tribe's councilman. The boy... Tetsu was it? He showed us how the shelter worked and all that. I and Master Akala gave our approval to the design after looking on it ourselves. It was quite recent...ish? I'm sorry, I don't really remember when exactly we did it, but it's definitely before three days ago."
Bero's adventure to the cave are mostly uneventful. There are some child stage Digimons, but they minded their own business, or only stopped to look why on earth this Gabumon is on fire. Rather than actually approaching him or being hostile, they're more interested in his general shape. None of them are actually close to the shelter, which probably is relevant to the mission.
When he arrived to the cave... the stench of sulfur was strong, really strong. As expected, it was 67 degree, and is rising higher. Why? No idea, but it's not from Digimon source at all. The lighting are rather minimal, but it's not a problem for Bero.
...There are footsteps here, looking like those of a big 'mon, Adult stage most likely. But what is the question. The footsteps ends right in front of the mouth of the cave, and it's heading out rather than in. It's unlikely that the Digimon flew as their wingspan should not be completely open in full inside that cave.

Ophelia would look over the scanning results with faint interest; her ears pricked in the Monochromon's direction, listening to him as she read. Frankly, a few of the terms in the results were a bit beyond her - but she at least understood that this stuff was good for local plants, just not foreign plants. She also understood that there was sulfur and spores from some sort of mushroom that affected Lizard/Dinosaur/Dragon type digimon in this soil, and burn traces - probably from fire, if she had to make a guess.
Gesturing for the Monochromon to wait just a second, she'd turn on the push-to-talk on the radio - telling Tadayoshi (and hopefully Bero), "Scanned that drone you sent me, Yoshi - it says the soil's, uhmm..." She paused to read over the results a second time. "... Volcanic mineral soil? Good for local plants, but not so much for foreign plants - has minerals but... low pH, whatever that means. Also has burn traces - probably from fire, if you ask me - a lot of sulfur, and spores from some sort of mushroom called Lavatenga? I guess the spores make dragon, lizard, and dinosaur-type digimon all hyped up and aggressive when they inhale a bunch of it. Results say it looks a bit like a reddish-brown boulder, but soft and red veins on it."
Glancing over to the Monochromon though, she'd nod to his suggestion of heading out to visit Gajuma's tribe tomorrow morning. "Yeah, I figure after this, I'll explore and patrol the area 'round the shelter some. Then assuming nothing comes up, I'll eat and head to bed with the others with nightfall." She'd mention, tail twitching a bit as she wondered to herself - both the circumstances of the attacks, how going to Gajuma's tribe tomorrow might go, as well as how they might handle tomorrow in general. "... What is Korak - Master Korak? - like?" She'd ask after a moment of thought - having to pause for a second as she wondered whether Korak would still be referred to as a Master, even after Akala dethroned him. It was just a little bit of a harebrained notion, at least in her opinion, but if Akala and Gajuma were both innocent - then the last big name left was Korak.
As Zam introduced himself proper though, Ophelia nodded - "My name's Ophelia!" She'd introduce herself as well with a small friendly grin, continuing "I guess all this techy-stuff is just as new to you guys as it is to me, huh? I grew up up in the mountains, so anything remotely civilization-y I learned from my Dad; but my Mom's as wild as wild comes." She'd chuckle a bit sheepishly, but continued to grin nonetheless - showing her D-Nexus. "Like this thing - you don't know how long it took me to get a hang of it, ehhehh..." She appeared a little more sheepish at that, but wouldn't elaborate on it - instead simply shoving the D-Nexus back into one of her pouches for now. "What's it like being a councilman for Akala, though? It sounds like you're not the only one?"

"Roger, Ophelia. Recalling the drone." Just like he said, Tadayoshi used the remote controls to call that drone back home to rest and recharge. "Hear that, captain? Don't go picking a snack from the ground."
"Actually, sir, my data makes me a cyborg-type digimon. Over."
"No kidding? Well, still. Over."
"We will be cautious around the local flora. Out." As the live patrols returned, relieved by drones, they began to lounge around about the shelter, doing nothing specifically helpful. Neither the captain nor the General had further orders for them at the moment. "Hey-"
"-we-"
"-thought-"
"-we-"
"-were-"
"-friends!" was the Missimon sibling's indignant response to getting dumped onto the dimmer brother both in hue and in intellect.
"What the children mean is that we're sorry to part to soon and appreciate your help," was how Jetmon attempted to cover for the kids. She was much better at disguising her complete and utter disgust with the silver V-dramon's gross incompetence. Oh, how she wished her wings were flexible enough to cover her damned ears! She almost gave up and left when he admitted not knowing what his job even was. How long could he have been misleading them?
Not long, apparently. Inside the largest structure in sight, a sensible enough thing itself, was where Akala was to be found. "Master Akala," Jetmon addressed him along with a bow, which combined with remembering his title was the best she thought she could do in properly addressing an ally with authority. "I am Lieutenant Jetmon, squadron leader of Talon serving under General Tadayoshi Teppei. We've been commissioned by KIZNA-" Sid flashed the badge. "-along with our comrades to test the efficacy of the volcano shelter on this island. We are grateful for the opportunity and wanted to introduce ourselves. It's good to meet you."

Bero looked at the strange footsteps, thinking about it. Footsteps ending right as something tried to leave the cave. Well, he supposed that was worth noting at least. Before he could click the button on his comm though, Ophelia’s message would come in. He was warned of local plants that cause aggression in certain types of digimon. Which included exactly the type he was and most digimon here. This means anywhere where it was could be dangerous. “Heading to inspect the hot cave. Cave has foot tracks that lead out of it, but suddenly vanish before a point that flying is likely. Possible case of sudden disappearance or use of a portal.”
That was worth mentioning, and nothing more. It didn’t really matter what the others said or if they didn’t want him to explore. He had a foolproof escape plan, and now that he had been warned of the Lavatenga, he was going to keep an eye out for them. He took preventive measures both against enemy Digimon and the lavatenga spores. He had most of the fire of his cape vanish, keeping only a small fire from a claw as a sort of candle-light with him to guide him through the bad lighting. It just made sense that he was more stealthy with less fire. Now that some of the other cloak claws weren’t on fire, he tried wrapping them over his mouth and nose. Now that the spores were most definitely stopped, he wasn’t afraid of heading in. He just had to keep going in until he noticed a lavatenga, and then go back out.

Unfortunately for Bero, he sounds find that the walkie talkie let out unresponsive noise when he's inside. It's probably better for him to turn it off if he decide to travel further.
everyone else will not be able to contact or communicate with Bero though walkie talkie as long as he's in the cave.
What was Master Korak like?
"Master Korak... He was... Well, if I want to be frank, he was my disappointing younger brother. Korak was a weak child, and back then the tribe was ruled by Master Gular, who like his predecessor, ruled the tribe with caste system. The stronger you are, the more prestige you have. We're Gular's nephews, you see... Our father was his second in command.
In Gular's rule, children of the top caste personage will be treated as that caste until their adulthood, where they have to prove themselves worthy of that privilege. Korak however... found the greatest loophole in this... If he stays a child stage all the time then surely he will be treated the same as our father's caste, right? Due to this of course our uncle Gular hates Korak to his bone. Multiple times he wished he could smash Korak's lazy head in, but that is a kinslaying, and kinslaying is something that Gular himself rules out.
...Either way, one day our uncle Gular had enough. He told Korak that he's no longer welcome, and he'll exile him. Our father accepted this decision to... I remembered how ashamed he was when Gular lost his temper after he saw Korak ate lavishly like a king while he himself was out hunting for the tribe.
Korak suffered as pariah. He had to swallow his pride, work, and even treated like something lower than scum for his own laziness despite born as an elite. However... what I have no idea of is that Korak is an adept mastermind. He sweettalked his way to various pariah's heart, have them support his evolution... he talk them sweetly like how he will ensure their child can live lazily while Gular's prideful warrior instead serve them....
...And so, with data of 100 fellow pariah, Korak evolved to Triceramon and defeated our uncle Gular. The system got overturned. And true to his words, he made those who used to be proud warrior to be mere hunter. He also said that as tribe leader he's extempted from such rule. I believe he worked our uncle and father as his personal worker until their death.
I have no idea, frankly. I was assigned to different person. Perhaps it was one of Korak's mercy. Akala's father was victim of Korak's sweettalking. He was a pariah, but a hardworking one... Pity that he was born weak. Either way, I was assigned as Akala's worker. Unlike children of most pariah-turned-bourgeoisie member of the tribe, Akala was very honest, straightforward, and just like his father, a hardworker. Even if he have to serve because of that in Korak's regime, all he wanted was prosperity of the tribe. He taught the same view to Gajuma... I still remembered when Gajuma was a child who was eager to follow his father's footsteps...
...Unfortunately, as you know... That happened. Either way, Korak is no longer. He know the moment Akala won, he would no longer live in luxury, and proceeded to delete himself. I have seen that with my own eyes. As much as it sounded cruel because he's my own brother-- Good riddance, I say. I wished to execute him, or lock him up for a long time, or force him to work again, but master Akala was against it. He told me he would like Korak's wisdom... but what good is a wisdom of a viper? He's dead, and he's better dead than alive.
As much as it pains me though, Korak's rule paved way for Master Akala's rule. I feel with Master Akala, at least we're getting what we needed since long. As much Master Gular's rule is more suitable for primal Digimons like us, it's with master Akala that we're truly greeting new era, where we can finally live in peace."
Looks like there are a lot of history there.
"Indeed, the entire thing are new for us. Granted, this is our first contact with technology outside the island, but we're eager, eager to see how it will work for us."
...What does it feel to be councilman for Akala?
"There are six of us councilman. We have Lady Unvana the Birdramon, Lord Gijyak the Golemmon, Mugal the Meramon, Novo the Red Vegiemon, and me myself, Zam the Monochromon. We made the councils for Master Akala. It's nice. We're mostly just talking to people in the tribe, listening to their problem... Gijyak is responsible for guards and whatnots, Unvana responsible for relations outside the tribe, and so on. Each of us have our own roles and our respective age groups... but that's the rule I guess. Anyway, I'm done bathing. Do you have more question before I return, young lady?"
Master Akala's smile turned into a rather puzzled expression. "It's great to meet you too. Yes, yes I have been told that you're hired by our partner, KIZNA, or more specifically by the one who made the shelter themselves, young Tetsu just a few minutes ago. Is... is there any need to report to me to say? Did he asked anything that have to be reported to me? If it's just reporting, I feel like there's no need to do that to me specifically..."
Bero's journey to the deep revealed that there are more of these footprints inside. As he goes deeper and deeper, the scenery changed a bit. Crystals, jutting out from the walls, glowing brightly. He wouldn't need any sort of lighting now. It's at this point that the heat increased drastically to around 130C. He would also smell a fungal-like scent on the air. The reason is revealed to be in the next room.
It was a circular room, about two hundred meter radius. There are small lava river flowing from higher elevation, like waterfall. The river is branching into several routes, but the only way to know where they go is to swim on it and check where... each branch are small enough that he could jump past it,
This place is also where the footprints become more and more chaotic. It's scattered about as if there was a battle here, evident from charred ground, claw and slash marks. There are some lavatangas scattered about, half eaten. Some of it are burned, charred, most likely from Digimon attack based on how it looked. Some of it trampled, some of it looked as if it's eaten then vomited out.
There are also a lot of broken Digitamas in here. There are no data floating out of it, suggesting that their destruction has been quite some time ago.
...By the way, scattered here too would be spines, ribs, and various bones. There are no meat or blood on them... neither it smelled like that at all. But it's also stink, the same like the bones Ophelia found.
There are several openings on the other end. It looked like it'll lead to even hotter area...
...But this time around, Bero would probably sense it from afar, thanks to his knowledge about detecting temperature.

Ophelia listened closely, curiously, as Zam recounted Master Korak's tale - from start to finish. It sounded as though from the start, Korak was a schemer - someone who wanted to lie and manipulate to get his way, to live an easy life. But when someone was ready to call him out on his shit, and dethroned him fair and square, he couldn't take it and, well... Ophelia wasn't sure if she really wanted to elaborate on that bit. To delete yourself like that though, well... It was a way to go, she guessed. Nonetheless, she didn't think hard on it. Instead, she focused more on the other details - that Korak was unlikely to be any trouble to them. Though, that only raised further questions for Ophelia - namely the question of: Who was behind all of this?
Could it be Gajuma? Could it be Akala? Or could it be someone else entirely? Ophelia was unsure - she wasn't exactly a critical thinker in the first place, which probably didn't help either. She had a few thoughts - namely the idea of a follower of Korak being behind this, or otherwise the idea of someone who hated Gajuma doing this - but it was, well, hard to say.
Nonetheless, as Ophelia finished off the washing of her gauntlets and hands, she'd have been sitting on the grass - letting her fur and armor dry whilst she and Zam talked. "Technology is a little scary and confusing at first, but I think it's really cool. I've got stuff that lets me talk to people, even if they're on the other side of the island, or even the other side of the world!" She'd chirp happily - tail swishing. Sure, perhaps the trial and error did tend to bother her a little - given her perfectionism - but... It was worth it, to her. "I can even take pictures with my D-Nexus - so I can always remember a moment, down the line!"
In hearing of the different council members, though, Ophelia would tilt her head curiously. It sounded like they all had something to manage in the camp, while hearing out the needs of the other tribesfolk. Though....
... She'd pause for a second, and count on her fingers. Unvana, Gijyak, Mugal, Novo, Zam...
... Didn't that only count out to five? Which raised a few questions - though as Zam asked if she had any other questions before he left, she'd perk up. "Oh, I was wondering... You cool with me hitching a ride back to the tribe?" She'd ask- getting up and donning her armor, now that it had since dried. The fur on her forearms was still rather damp, but Zam wasn't wrong about it drying faster than usual. "I'd like to visit and check it out, and maybe ask Akala some questions, too!" In any case, she had never been told that Jet and co were headed out to Akala's - nor was she told that this was the reason why they had borrowed her badge. So, as far as she knew, she figured it wouldn't hurt to use this as a chance to familiarize herself with Akala's tribe some!
"Also - you said there were six council members, but you only named five including yourself." Ophelia pointed out as she dusted off some stray bits of grass from her fur. "Is there a sixth council member you didn't name?"

Bero had made sure his message was received by the others. It made sense to him that contacts may be cut, if the radio wasn’t straight up fried inside the cave. So his message was spoken outside the cave, but he indeed did head in. At first, the rising temperature did concern him. Signs of sweat and slight flickering of red lines of code appeared on him, indicating small hints of damage being taken due to the temperature.
A shame that Bero was such a capable pyromancer with no capability in fire resistance. He always suspected that would be down to his digivolutions. He kept the cloak wrapped over his mouth and the rain seeds at the ready. He held one claw out as a guiding candle and protected the seeds with his own body.
Making it to the large room, he’d look in spectacle. Broken digitamas, old, bones everywhere with a unique stinking smell to them. Bero had a slight suspicion to what the scent might be, but due to covering his nose, which seemed important with the nearby lavatanga mushrooms. He saw the 1211°C heat source coming from a digimon. He couldn’t estimate how hot this room was, but it was already quite hot. It’d be much hotter there though.
There was one big problem for Bero. as much as he wanted to investigate it, he knew both the effects of Lavatanga and knew it was present here. The moment he tried to fight, he’d lose control of himself due to the spores and that’s an idea he despised. He wouldn’t be very safe or getting much stronger in a reckless rage…
He decided to attempt to gather some of the bones. He also wanted to gather some of the lavatanga directly, but it was a huge risk… nonetheless, a risk that would be incredibly useful if he managed. Getting an actual sample to scan may give them ideas on how to counteract it.
Bero prepared his very essence… He wrapped his cloak even tighter around his nose and mouth, letting breathing become difficult. He created a small blue fire by his mouth and nose in the hopes that it might burn any spores that came close. The fire lit up his face and determined eyes, but bended perfectly around himself to make sure it never hurt him. He grabbed some Lavatanga, one or two bones, and started walking back, keeping his eyes on the fiery energy from a digimon source in the other room. He kept his rain seed ready to drop while he carefully walked back.

Jetmon and the Missimon:
Well, this sure was awkward, wasn't it? The lieutenant was only following orders coming to the village, and it seemed like such a reasonable thing to do at the time: establish contact and get in the good graces of the locals. Well, mission accomplished, but maybe Silence had gone too far for no real business. Jetmon had an egg on her face, but nonetheless she kept her composure as she replied, "Then you have our apologies for wasting your time. We only wanted to present ourselves, not tread into your backyard without so much as a greeting. We'll be off, then." And so like she said, she got a running start before kicking up her engines and flying off, Missimon in tow. Only out of earshot did she drop her formal act. "General, Talon 1: returning home, over." "...Acknowledged. Out." Tadayoshi was helping himself to a protein bar he had brought with him among the group's food supplies.
When the air force returned they began to lounge about as well, though Sid placed the borrowed badge on the counter, which was hopefully a conspicuous enough spot for Ophelia to find it whenever she came back.

Ride on him as a taxi? The old Monochromon looks amused more than anythiing. "Well, why not? Hop on I guess, Lass. Faster that way, and easier for you to return on time. The night is dangerous, and I think whoever doing this thing would be coming back at night. Keep your wits with you, young one. "
Hmmm? Wait, did he really listed five names? ....The Monochromon counted again. One, two, three...
...
"Oh dear, I did indeed listed five names... I wonder who's the last... His name escaped me... He's a Flarizamon. My memory is not as strong as it's used to... but I know the explanation why I forgot, you see... It happened that the sixth councilperson somehow haven't been around for like two or three weeks... Maybe you should ask Master Akala? I'm sorry about it."
Either way, they've arrived to the gate.
"Halle-ho, Old Man Zam! Who's that on your back?" a Golden Vdramon asked.
"Halle-ho, Kin! This young miss is Ophelia from the shelter! She's asking for an audience with Master Akala!"
"...?" Kin looked confused for a minute. "...But the envoy from the shelter has just left? Jet-like Digimons!"
"Ah... that must be one of her teammates. Can you let her in anyway?"
"Moment."
The Golden Vdramon walked down from his sentry tower, then proceed to sniff at Ophelia. "...Ah, her scent is the one that is on the badge! Let me lower down the bridge for you!"
And with that, the bridge is lowered and Zam proceeded to walk toward Akala's tent. The Master Tyranomon still a bit confused from the sudden visit and left, and the moment when he saw Zam, his expression lightened.
"Uncle Zam, it's good to see you."
"You got a visitor, my lord."
"A visitor? Her?"
"Yes, she's from the shelter. Kin has recognized her."
Akala's confused expression was like a copy of those of Kin, pointing at general direction of the shelter, then at Ophelia, then back again. "...I hope it's not another... reporting to me and... introducing yourself to neighbor or that sort? I mean, it's nice, it's nice obviously, don't get me wrong... but... I'd rather help you with any of your inquiries rather than... just a simple greeting your neighbor sort. After all, our time is pressing at the moment. I heard you're only here for three days and three nights, obviously we'd want the culprit to be caught!"
Bero's judgment proven to be apt. When he walked back to the entrance, he could see a glint of metal, blue in color, on the mouth of the other entrance. Whatever's there, it's big, big enough to immediately rise the temperature of the room he was in to twice or thrice of its original heat. The last thing he would see is glint of yellow eye and slight tremors as it walked.
Either way, he's safe.
Thankfully, the Lavatanga that he picked did not release spore. Even if it did, it would be completely inconsequential to his mental state at the moment... or maybe just because he's already always angry to begin with, this monlet.

Ophelia's tail would swish idly as she suited back up, and hopped onto Zam's back. "Thanks!" she'd grin widely to the Monochromon, purring contentedly as she watched her surroundings as they trotted along towards the tribe. She wanted to familiarize herself with everything she could about the island - particularly the portions surrounding the shelter - and so she was making full use of hitching a ride with Zam to do just that. As they rode along though, she would take the time to turn on her radio to let the others know "Going to visit Akala to get to know the tribe a bit, and ask him stuff! Will be back before sundown - anything you guys want me to ask around about, while I'm there?" She would also listen to Zam explain the missing sixth councilperson - a Flarizamon - and how the Monochromon had forgotten his name.
Again, Ophelia couldn't help but think back to the notion of getting so old, that one couldn't remember even a name of someone as important as a fellow council member... She certainly didn't want to reach that stage, if she could help it; forgetting even those close to her seemed, well... Now that she had the time to think it over, it was fucking scary! She hated the idea that she might get so old, that she'd forget her family, that she'd forget friends like Ryouta, or Karin, or Kitt, or Eris! Rumbling softly to herself, though - she'd try to push down the thought. She was still young, she had, what, a whole lot of life ahead of her, yeah?
Speaking of forgetting, though... She almost forgot to ask Tetsu about a few things she was pondering! Digging out her D-Nexus, she'd begin to text Tetsu once more; Soveriegns have mercy on whoever of the two - Tetsu or Gryz - had to answer them.
'hey tetsu andor gryz! everything seems fine so far... i just met one of the councilmembers, zam! he seems kinda forgetful but nice to talk to. we talked a bit and he's letting me hitch a ride to akala's to visit!
but anyways - i'm wondering a few things that i want your guys' opinions on - zam doesnt think that gajuma has anything to do with the attacks (and neither do i honestly), and suggested we visit him tomorrow. do you have any advice with talking to gajuma's tribe? and who do you think could be responsible for the attacks, if it wasn't gajuma? cause i dont think anyone from akalas tribe wouldve done it, unless they really had it out for both akala and gajuma, right?
also - i guess a flarizamon that's one of the councilmembers has been missing for 2-3 weeks, though zam doesnt remember his name. what do you think might've happened that a digimon would just disappear like that?'
Nonetheless, as they began to approach the gate, Ophelia would perk up curiously - her tail swishing and swaying with excitement and friendliness, waving to Kin as they first greeted each-other. Already, she could pick up tinges of scents here and there, from the digimon who frequented in and out. She would be sniffing the air with distinct interest, trying to get an idea of the tribe's 'group scent'. If these digimon ended up being as scent oriented as she was, then surely they had a group scent for their families if not the tribe as a whole, too?
But, in sniffing the air, she'd also realized - the scents of some of Tadayoshi's digimon were lingering here, too...! She'd make a confused expression - which would only grow further confused as Kin would mention an envoy, jet-like digimon, and a badge, and... Wait... Did they never return the badge straight to her...?? Ophelia would grumble a little - scratching the back of her mane; guess she wouldn't be lending them anything without some firm ground rules if they tried asking again, then.
Well... whatever - as they entered the camp proper, Ophelia would be back to sniffing the air curiously - familiarizing herself with the scents of the tribe, and looking around at all of the different digimon with visible excitement. She'd perk up as they approached Akala proper, though would quickly note that he was just as confused as Kin was... And it sounded as though Tadayoshi's digimon just... Came and went? Didn't even talk or ask questions...? Ophelia tilted her head a little - supposing that familiarizing oneself with the locals was a good idea, but...
She'd shake her head, mentioning "It's okay! I got questions like nobody's business!" She'd chirp, hopping off of Zam's back - patting his side with a friendly purr and a quick "Thank you for the ride, by the way!" to him before she turned her attention to Akala fully. "I've been wondering about a bunch of things, ever since I talked to Zam, and explored around the shelter some." She would begin, taking a second to gather together her words; normally, she wasn't really a person to be doing all of this talking and communicating, she was more looking to fight off baddies in this work! But she was also unerringly curious, being the kid she was.
First things first though... "Where to start, uhm.... On our way here, Zam had mentioned that a councilmember - a Flarizamon - had gone missing two or three weeks ago? Could you tell me his name, and what you guys know about the disappearance?" She'd ask first, figuring that as that was mentioned the most recently, it would be a good place to start - thinking over before she perked and thought of other questions. "Also! I've been wondering about the attacks - Me and Zam aren't sure if Gajuma's the one behind them. He doesn't sound like a scheme-y type to me, and to my understanding, Tetsu n Gryz beat him fair and square, so he should be respecting them, right? But it also leaves the question of who did it, if it wasn't him. What do you think about all that? And would you have any advice for going to talk to him and his tribe? Like... without pissing anyone off, or putting ourselves in too much trouble?" Even if Gajuma wasn't the culprit, she imagined he wouldn't take kindly to them waltzing on in uninvited, unlike Akala and his tribe...
Ophelia would take a second to think further about any other questions she might ask, before questioning "Also! Has anyone or anything been giving you guys any trouble? Is there anything we can do to help out around here?" She figured that helping out Akala's tribe while they're here would be a good idea, and it'd also probably give an idea of the goings-ons around here! Speaking of... "What can you guys tell me about the island that we might want to know about, too? Stuff like any particular kinds of plants, local wild digimon, or landmarks or locations around here that we should know about?"
It's very well possible that Ophelia had forgotten the definition of 'chill' then and there, with all the questions she had! Though perhaps that was a good thing, with how confused (and perhaps miffed? She was unsure.) Akala seemed about Jetmon and co earlier.

Bero’s thermosensing didn’t pick up on heat in the room at first, but as he was leaving, he watched a wave of heat from the other entrance take over the room. Everything that wasn’t 200°C slowly raised to that point, and even beyond, all starting from the entrance the other digimon was in. In the name of the dark zone, he had to get out here!
The glint of blue metal and yellow shine didn’t escape Bero as he turned his tail and ran as properly as his frame allowed him to! It was a bit of running, but eventually he was outside. However, he wasn’t satisfied with this, making sure to run behind a tree for cover and hide himself from the entrance, so he had time to run using his flame coat incase the digimon inside was chasing after him.
Finding that that wasn’t the case, he got a radio message shortly after. Ophelia informed him she was moving to visit Akala’s tribe. He dispelled the fires of his cape and grabbed some leaves and stuff to wrap the lavatanga up, still wanting to prevent it from affecting him. Once that was done, just a few minutes later, he spoke to the radio. “Just got out of that cave. There’s some Sukamon quality things happening there.”
He finished wrapping up the lavatanga, and decided to do the same for the bone, since it kind of reeked, and he didn’t want undue attention. He started walking back to the shelter. Bero didn’t have the means to travel quickly as he was carrying too much little things to really use his cape to zip by the jungle, so it would be a walk towards the shelter. Turns out he didn’t really need these rain seeds. Oh well.
He had found a powerful digimon he’d gladly become as strong as, but he hadn’t exactly gotten a chance to watch it in safety… Maybe, just maybe, the locals had more answers for it. Well, that’d be something to discuss later. The others could salvage the important information, Bero has had his first chance to visit the volcano. No doubt there would be a second.

The reply came up soonish after she wrote it.
Hey, Gryz here. Tetsu is cooking for the meantime, but I told him what you asked.
Zam is indeed forgetful but he's a kind old man. He's one among the pro-change in technology among the Akala tribes. He helped us determining which area are suitable for the shelter. Speaking of that, me and Tetsu are going to come to the shelter tomorrow with the shelter designer, Prof. Kalor. It'll be on the afternoon, around 1 PM.
I wouldn't rule out internal attack, but even then they must be really stupid to do that. Not only they're making it harder for the tribe, Master Akala is known to be a really strong fighter. This sort of covert mission is not something that the tribe member would do unless they're absolutely sure they can wrestle Master Akala's power from him, which honestly sounded like absolute bull. As much as Master Akala loved fair socialism based on democracy, the tribe succession is still kratocracy. The successor must fight 1 vs 1 with Akala.
It's interesting that you don't think Gajuma is not the attacker. Do you have any sort of theory why? When fighting with him, I do know that Gajuma is a honorable guy. We too think that he's not behind it... or if he's behind it, there must be something that pulling the string... either he's mind controlled or something else. Keep up your great work.
If you're talking about Councilman Gozon... 2-3 weeks are a bit too long. I suspect something is afoot, but even then, Gozon was part of ones that agree about the shelter. He should be member of the commerce faction of the tribe if I recall it right.
Anyway, if you have any more things to report, please do. You're doing great.
If the scent there mostly involves herbs and such, it smelled rustic, and at times sulfuric, perhaps because the hot spring. Some of these people curiously looked at Ophelia, at times greeting her with "Halle-ho", at times just waves their paws at her... and at times sniffing. But even then, all of them bear same thing: They're all facepainted with skull marking on their head.
Master Akala was glad to see that there are some question to answer indeed.
"Yes, councilman Gozon was it. He's a Flarizamon with ability to sense geothermal heat. After seeing the shelter's progress, I... admittedly was excited. More shelters means more chance for Digimons to open trade to our tribe. I asked Gozon to survey the areas, thinking he would at most need about one week to survey the island... He's accompanied by two members of our tribe, a Tyrannomon and a Tuskmon. That amount of people should be enough, but... it's been nearly three weeks since then. I'm getting worried.
Of course we have asked our Councilwoman Unvana to search the area for him, but unfortunately there are no sign of him at all. Unvana should be around the western end of the tribe if you would like to question her, but I think that's not necessary per se. The only place we haven't looked out for is Gajuma's tribe, but even then I feel unlikely for Gozon to approach Gajuma without proper reason. And Gajuma isn't the type to hold hostage."
Believing that Gajuma isn't the one behind the attack? Akala looked at Zam, who just smiled sheepishly.
"...Ah, I see that Zam has told you my son's relation with me. Yes, yes, without doubt, that foolish son of mine was the one who attacked the shelter the first time around, on base of not trusting the shelter enough and treat it as invasion... but he did lose, yes. And he should honor it, yes... that's why I felt there must be someone else that have misgiving toward it. Gajuma may have mistrust toward young Tetsu and his project... but even so, he has lost in battle that he himself started. A honorable warrior such as him should honor his own deal. It might be begrudgingly, but I believe he's not the kind to break his warrior honor after beaten fair and square.
However, if invasion did happened, then it's another story. But even then, I think it would doom our relation with your group... What does KIZNA have to gain by invading small tribe like ours or controlling us? That's why we believe there might be a fourth party, one that wanted us to fight against you for some reason, and wishes to gain something from the island, that purposely stirs he trouble. As of what, I have no idea.
Gajuma tribe has simple rule. Gajuma let his people roam freely and they're their own boss. Thus, what I suggest is if you can't evolve to Adult stage yet, bring numbers. If you can't evolve to adult stage and does not have the needed personnel, try hiding your scent. My suggestion is to rub certain berries that found near the beach with you. It smelled like Gajuma tribe, and should do you fine for three hours, enough to reach Gajuma. But even then, to talk with Gajuma you have to fight against at least three of his lieutenant... So fighting will be necessary anyway. However, should you defeat his lieutenants, Gajuma surely would listen to you.
Oh and... please do not mention anything that suggest they're doing some underhanded tactics. If there is something that Gajuma really hate, that is the suggestion that you're suspecting him for being a mastermind. He's a smart child, but he hates falsehood and trickery. That's why if you sneaks in his tribe without facing his three lieutenants, he would most likely not answer any of your questions."
Anyone that's been causing troubles....?
Akala thought of it for a while... then looked back at Ophelia.
"...Why, on that matter, that reminds me, Gin said something about dopplegangers being spotted lately. It's Gin that we're talking about, a dimwitted Silver Vdramon, so I don't know how true this is but... he said something along the line of 'there are suspicious people with attributes of Gajuma tribes, together with Akala tribe, but for some reason their skull mark is on their belly. Of course that's weird. We usually painted our skull marks on our heads, or in case like councilman Mugal whose body is always on fire, he would wear a skull mask....
It's suspicious, but verifying the intel is hard as only Gin saw them. And he's not the smartest of our bunch."
Anything that they should know about the location and such?
"Well, there is thermal vent near where you are, but I don't suggest to go there... Our plan before was to make some sort of tunnel connector between the islands, but we found Lavatanga in huge quantity there, which made our worker berserked. Thankfully we're able to subdue them. Since then we pretty much sealed it. We have no idea where it leads to or what's inside thanks to it. Sorry I can't help you more than this, young lady..."
