The morning sun begins to shine over the Server Woods in the Digital World. Among one of the many, many tree branches in the great forest, a lone Hawkmon is sleeping the night away, high above the ground. His eyes slowly open up as the sun rises more. Now fully awake, the Hawkmon stretches and yawns, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"That was a good sleep..." the Hawkmon mumbled to himself, grabbing his quiver full of arrows and placing it on his back, "I better get to training now though. Never know when an intruder will come by."
And thus, grabbing his trusty specialized longbow, the Hawkmon jumped off the tree branch, grabbed an arrow and shot it right into the dead center of a bulls-eye target he had placed on a nearby tree. He would then maneuver all around the forest, doing the same thing for all the other bulls-eye targets he had put up. Over many years of training, each and every arrow would indeed his the bulls-eye perfectly.
No intruder was going to invade this Hawkmon's village, especially with his expertise in archery.

It was another quiet morning thus far in the Server Woods, where many woodland Digimon critters roam the treetops. Though even when the day starts out normal enough, no one really knows what is on the way. While a lone Hawkmon starts off the morning with some target practice, suddenly a loud noise can be heard in the distance. The sound of branches snapping becomes louder and louder, as an impromptu battle breaks out, and the combatants get closer to this winged archer.
Through the leaves, a Stingmon can be seen battling what appears to be a giant sea serpent. The King of Sting is once again battling his icy foe, Seadramon. However, these Digimon are not alone in this area, as their human partners talk trash to each other on the ground below. Stingmon sneers and curses out Seadramon.
"You fish-sucking reptile! Blow it out your ice hole."
Stingmon charges towards the serpent, but Seadramon is ready, and counters with a powerful swing of his tail. The battle worn Stingmon is sent flying into a tree, and the insect devolves down to Wormmon as they crash into the ground. Seadramon lets out a high pitched shriek, scaring off more timid birds in the treetops. Seadramon's Tamer gloats in the other Tamer's face, running his fingers through his spiky platinum blonde hair and smirking a wicked grin, made more sinister by the scars connected to his ice cold lips.
"Looks like you couldn't measure up after all, Dante."
The other Tamer is startled that Stingmon lost, but tries not to appear defeated in front of his rival.
"Seadramon defeated Stingmon, ha, that's a first. What do they say about a broken clock, Cassius?" "Spare me your attitude. I'll be taking my prize now. Come along, Seadramon. Let's go celebrate our victory."
Seadramon slithers over to the Tamers. Cassius grabs on to Seadramon, and the cold-hearted duo flee into the forest. Dante turns and starts running towards Wormmon, but would he be the first one to get there? Wormmon is currently laying on the ground, battered and bruised after a humiliating defeat.

As the Hawkmon prepared to draw back his bow back, a sudden loud sound was heard. It surprised the Hawkmon to no end, causing him to drop the arrow and lose composure, as well as having him crash right into a tree, hitting every branch on the way down.
"AUGH! FRICK! OUCH! SONUVA! YOW!" The Hawkmon screamed with each and every collision before falling face-first right onto the ground. "Way to keep your cool, Hawkeye..." the bird Digimon scolded himself as he picked himself up. "Where did that noise even come from, anyways?"
Walking through the trees towards the loud sound, Hawkeye eventually came up close to the source of the racket. A battle between two champion-level Digimon was taking place, a Seadramon and a Stingmon respectively. At first Hawkeye panicked because the fight was so close to his village. However, he then noticed two weird-looking creatures each on opposite ends of the fight. Were they humans? Digimon Tamers?
Eventually the Stingmon was brutally defeated in the fight, devolving back into a Wormmon. Hawkeye listened closely to the humans' trash-talking. Frankly, he thought they both sounded like idiots, fighting for a petty reason such as this, although the human with the Seadramon did sound more cruel than the other.
The Seadramon and his human then left the area, leaving the Wormmon and his human there alone. Would they or the Seadramon be a threat to Hawkeye's village? He had to know, to get information out of them while they were still vulnerable. So Hawkeye jumped out of his hiding spot and right beside the human and Wormmon. He would then grab an arrow, pulling it back with his bow and aiming at the both of them.
"If either of you move I will not hesitate to shoot," Hawkeye threatened them. "Answer my questions: are you here to endanger several Digimon? And is that Seadramon capable of doing so as well?"

As Wormmon lay on the ground with little winged cheeseburgers dancing around his head, his antenna lifts as he hears something approaching. Even while in the heat of battle, he noticed the sounds of branches breaking, but paid it no mind. Apparently, this battle had drawn some attention. As Wormmon comes to, he sees a Hawkmon ready to put an arrow through him. Being the egomaniac that he is, Wormmon isn't about to be intimidated.
"Listen, birdy, put that arrow away before I pluck and stuff you like a turkey! I'm one bad worm."
Dante comes rushing over to his injured partner, but is greeted not-so-warmly by Hawkeye, a local Digimon concerned with the safety of his village. Dante tries to diffuse the situation which was instigated further by his brash partner.
"Wormmon, you're in no condition to make threats. Seadramon gave you a wallop." "I had him right where I wanted him, but the sun was in my eye. Uh, ya. Besides, you were of no use." "Right, the sun was in your eye. Excuses, excuses... Anyways, what were your question again, uuum, you are a Hawkmon, aren't you? We're not here to endanger local Digimon." "I may not look it right now, but I am a very powerful Digimon. Yes, very powerful indeed." "As for Seadramon, yes, he's quite dangerous, but now that he has won the battle, regrettably, him and his snake of a Tamer are on their way back to the city, presumably to steal some more things, and be a huge d-bag while doing so."
Wormmon struggles to get up and shakes off some grass.
"Ya, screw those two! So drop this tough bird act. We've got bigger fish to fry."
Would the Hawkmon believe the duo, or would it not be so easy to calm him down after the damage done to the area caused by the battle?

Hawkeye had the human and Digimon right where he wanted them, perfectly ready to answer some questions. Unfortunately the Wormmon decided to try and make threats with Hawkeye, who rolled his eyes, completely not buying it. "Look, Worm, I saw the fight with that Seadramon, and I know you are in no condition to fight. So if you don't want an arrow through your head, or one through your human's knee, I suggest you cooperate."
Thankfully the human had some sense and rushed over to try and calm down the Wormmon, who proceeded to brag that he lost the fight because 'the sun was in his eyes.' What kind of moron was this guy, anyways?
It was then that the human began to try and explain to Hawkeye that they were in fact no danger to the village, with the Wormmon claiming to be a very powerful Digimon. "A powerful Digimon, brought down by the sun being in your eyes? And even if I believed you, that still makes you a dangerous threat for us." Hawkeye didn't believe the human's other story either, with the Seadramon heading back to the city. "If that Digimon is as much of a 'd-bag' as you say, if he finds our village it will be the end of us."
Hawkeye gave them a chance to explain themselves, yet he still found them to be too much of a threat. Thus, he grabbed some rope and tied up both the human's hands and all of Wormmon's feet, before aiming a power-charged arrow at the two of them. "Up. Now. You're coming with me to the village. Carry your Wormmon as well."

Dante quickly found out that it would not be that easy to persuade this trigger happy Hawkmon. Wormmon was not helping matters either. The Worm King scoffs at Hawkeye's threats, as cocky as ever.
"Go ahead and shoot him, see if I care. Haha!" "You little brat!"
Before they knew it, Hawkeye was tying them up and taking them prisoner. Hawkeye tells them that he doesn't believe Dante's explanation, and that he's taking them to a village. Wormmon flails around as his legs are being tied.
"Hey! What's going on, here? This isn't the time to start getting kinky." "He's not binding you for kicks, Wormy. So you're seriously taking us prisoner. So be it, if that's what you have to do to feel safe. Just put your bow away, and I will comply, for now."
Dante isn't happy about being captured, by a freaking Rookie, no less, but he figures it is best to play along, at least until Wormmon recovers a bit. The Tamer picks up Wormmon and follows Hawkeye.
"This sucks! Captured by a Rookie? I conquered entire regions with my undead army once upon a time. That was before I got stuck with this sap of a human." "Keep quiet for once. Why are you telling him this? Do you want him to think we pose a threat? Check your ego at the door for once in your life, and play ball. We don't have a choice right now."
Dante smiles nervously at Hawkeye. In spite of their past triumphs, they are in no position to make demands. While Dante is level headed enough for this, Wormmon certainly is not. It would be tough for anyone not to shoot the Worm King given the chance.

As expected, these two weren't exactly happy to be tied up like this. What wasn't expected was the Wormmon's comment about how this wasn't the time to 'start getting kinky.' In response to this, Hawkeye looked at Wormmon with an annoyed look. "Yes, because I am definitely sexually attracted to slimy green bugs," he sarcastically said to the Digimon. Poking Dante in the back with the drawn arrow, the group walked deeper into the woods.
During the walk, the Wormmon once again became super annoying and complained about getting captured by a Rookie, proceeding to brag how he captured undead armies before meeting the human. "Keep running your mouth like that and I'll just declare you an immediate threat, deleting you instantly." Hawkeye wasn't going to let this big-mouthed bug destroy his village.
Hawkeye noticed the human trying to smile at him. The bird Digimon huffed and just kept walking. "I can tell that you're not a good person, you know," he told Dante. "I can look into someone's eyes and sense their character. What I saw from you was tyranny and evil. Only the Chief can decide your fate now."
At last, the group had made it to the village. It was relatively small, with about thirty or so buildings spread out throughout the entire village. The resident Digimon took notice of Hawkeye's prisoners, all of them following as they walked to the Chief's home. From there, a surly-looking Jijimon walks up to Hawkeye, the latter bowing at the former's presence.
"There is no need for that, Hawkeye," Jijimon calmly said to the archer.
"Apologies, sir," Hawkeye said, nodding and smiling.
"And who are these two, may I ask?"
"The Wormmon was fighting a Seadramon as a Stingmon just recently, right outside the village. I believe them, as well as the Seadramon at large, to be a threat to our security." Hawkeye's statement was greeted with loads of gasps and scared murmurs from the other residents.
"Calm, everyone, please remain calm," Jijimon called out to everyone, walking up to Dante and Wormmon. "Tell me, strangers; why have you come here? What were your intentions? Do we have to worry about the Seadramon?"

Not only had they lost to a pair of their most hated rivals, Dante and Wormmon were now captured. Wormmon's comment about getting kinky seems to catch Hawkeye off guard. The Hawkmon made it clear that Wormy's looks did not impress him with a sarcastic comment referring to slimy green bugs.
"Ah, quit kidding around. You know that I am absolutely gorgeous. Oh yes."
Wormmon pantomimes playing with a big pair of chesticles. Dante feels Hawkeye poke him in the back with the arrow.
"Hey, calm down with that thing, will ya?"
Hawkeye responded to Wormmon's comment about commanding an undead army by threatening the Wormmon with deletion. Never one to back down from a challenge, Wormmon scoffs and blows his antenna out of his face.
"Keep dreaming, featherhead. Let's see how you would do if we fought when I was healthy. You act so big and mighty with that bow... oh, look at me, I'm Hawkmon, meh meh meh..." "Quit whining. You are somehow more unbearable than usual. That loss to Seadramon must have rocked your ego."
When Dante smiled at Hawkeye, the archer responded by saying he saw evil in his eyes.
"Really? When I look at Dante, I see a bozo. You wanna see evil..." "Wow, an insult from the Worm King. Followed by another threat. Your ignorance knows no bounds." "Shut up, Dante. Wait, what does ignorance mean? I don't know what that is."
(Thinking) "Oh, the irony."
They reach Hawkeye's village, a decent sized town for being located in the woods. Dante doesn't like all the attention they are drawing. This was supposed to be a straight forward grudge match. Getting captured was certainly not on today's schedule. Soon they are greeted by Jijimon, presumably the village leader. Hawkeye accuses them of being a threat, but Jijimon asks the duo for their side of the story.
"Well, we came here to battle a certain slimy, creepy, cold blooded, bottom feeding monster." "And his partner Seadramon. Hiyo!" "Unfortunately, my partner here lost the battle." "Seadramon beat me, for once. That's 217 to 1, by my count. Plus, the sun was in my eyes." "We had planned to return home without trouble, when Hawkmon here apprehended us while Wormmon was in no condition to fight. I must say, he has been very rude, all things considered. We mean no harm to the Digimon in this area."
"Ya. He jumped us while I was still recovering after a hard fought battle that I totally should have won, you guys. He's been threatening us and pointing that arrow every which way. And as far as Seadramon goes, who knows what they are up to. They probably left, but if not, then you'll need our help to defend this pathetic village." "Seadramon is a dangerous Digimon, and his Tamer Cassius is very wily. He's a master thief that will stop at nothing to get what he wants. I implore you, if the safety of your homes is your main concern here, you will stop this nonsense and release us so you can focus on the real threat at large." "Ya! And if you want a fight, then you should at least fight me when I am good and ready, dang it! I have half a mind to torch this whole forest-"
Dante covers Wormmon's mouth to prevent him further incriminating himself.
"Like I said, we mean you no harm, and wish to get out of your hair as soon as possible, provided you do not request our help dealing with the potential sea monster threat."
Dante believes that Jijimon will be more reasonable than Hawkeye and listen to reason. Though he doesn't know much about local tribes in this area. Who is to say how the Chieftain will handle this matter?

"Last time someone told me to do that, we lost three of us," Hawkeye told Dante, continuing to poke him in the back. "I can't take any chances. Not anymore. And please tell the Wormmon to stop... doing whatever the hell he's doing."
The Wormmon continued to brag more about being super tough when he's healthy. Hawkeye had plenty of words to say about that. "You're not healthy now. Get that through your thick head. Right now, at this moment, you would not be considered a threat. If I hadn't seen that fight, none of this would be happening. I would think you were just a Digimon in need, but that's clearly not what you are."
Back at the village, Jijimon had allowed Dante and Wormmon a chance to explain their side of the story. And they practically said the same thing that they said to Hawkeye to Jijimon, albeit with a lot more urgency than before, as well as some comments about Hawkeye's handling of the situation. "Normally, Hawkeye's behavior would be questionable. However, I fully agree with the actions he took. Our village cannot take anymore chances after all of those that we lost. We cannot take chances. Good job, Hawkeye."
"Thank you, sir," Hawkeye says with a smile. Dante continues to convince the village that they mean no harm to them, and that Seadramon is the actual threat. Hawkeye wasn't so sure what to think. "Sir? What do you think we should do?"
"They make a good case, but so did others before," Jijimon said, "releasing them could mean the end of our village."
"The Seadramon and its human seem to hate these two a great deal much. If they do attack, we can use them as bargaining pawns so they'd leave us alone. I know it's not humane, but we don't have a choice." It was clear that Hawkeye cared about his village very much, willing to do anything to protect it.
"...or if we allow them a chance to heal, they will help us in case they do come," Jijimon said. "Hawkeye, please release our guests."
"Are you sure about this?" Hawkeye asked. When Jijimon nodded in response, Hawkmon immediately grabbed a Chrome Digizoid arrow to cut the binds off of both Dante and Wormmon. "You two better not make me regret this."
"Now, are our guests hungry?" Jijimon asked, hoping to show hospitality towards Dante and Wormmon.

It seems as even though Dante made his intentions clear to the archer, Hawkeye still didn't trust the duo. Dante began to understand as Hawkeye explained that they had lost three mons before this. It became clear when Jijimon confirmed that this village has been through hard times. They had reasons to be suspect of these outsiders. Dante's opinion of the Hawkmon was starting to change, as his rough nature makes sense now. Dante and Wormmon are not free to go yet, but Jijimon instructs Hawkeye to release them. They are invited to enjoy a meal in the village.
"Alright, time for some food!" "I don't like the idea of being viewed as bargaining pawns, but thank you for hearing us out."
They would have to remain in the village for now. If Seadramon was still in the area, they could pose a threat. Wormmon stretches out after getting his legs free.
"That's more like it. What ever happened to manners? This is not how you should treat guests." "Hopefully Cassius and Seadramon left the area. Even a crook like Cassius would need a motive to attack. You don't have anything of value that would be worth stealing, do you?" "I doubt it. What kind of treasure could they possibly have? A lucky stick? Haha. This place is dullzville. You should bulldoze those trees over there and build a water park or something. And pave over those outhouses to make a parking lot." "Those are not outhouses, they are huts."
It had been a while since Dante and Wormmon had been to the Server Woods, but he wasn't captured and brought to a village before. Was there something more dangerous than Seadramon lurking nearby?

"Please just shut up," Hawkeye told Wormmon, a vein of anger beginning to pop on his forehead. This bug was really beginning to get on his nerves. "Keep up the attitude and I'll spit in your food."
After the Tamer and Digimon were freed, Jijimon lead them both, as well as Hawkeye, into his house. The inside of the house was very pleasant looking, complete with things like a bed, a couch, cupboards, dining table and chairs, basically what you'd expect to find in a Digimon's house. As Jijimon began preparing food for the four of them, Dante asked if there was anything the village had that anyone would want to steal.
"There is, actually," Jijimon said as he placed four bowls onto the table, each bowl containing a pinkish-violet liquid. "Our village grows a rare crop in the Digital World known as Wingfruit. It's what our village depends on for its income, selling them to stores in Terminus and Whitewater."
"And that's where the problem comes in. The crop is so rare that we have to sell it at a high price just to make even. If intruders came in, they'd either steal our Wingfruits and sell them on their own, or grow them in other places, making them less valuable and meaning less money for the village to even survive, since a lot of us go to places like Rosewood for our shopping. That's why we're less than welcoming of strangers here."
Before anyone could dig in to eat, a bright flash was suddenly seen outside the window. Immediately taking action, Hawkeye grabbed his bow and ran out the door, with Jijimon following suit. If Dante and Wormmon were to follow, they would see what all the other Digimon in the village was seeing: a little blonde girl wearing an orange and white shirt, blue cropped jeans and white shoes with pink trim. She was seemingly unconscious.
"What the... another human? Where do you humans keep coming from?"

It was clear that the Worm King has been getting on Hawkeye's nerves. Wormmon takes offense to the comment Hawkeye made about spitting in his food.
"How dare you?! You just crossed the line, mister."
The four of them go inside Jijimon's house. The Chieftain starts getting the food ready.
"This is a nice home you have." "Well he is the Chieftain. Where's your manservant?"
Dante's question lead to a surprising answer from Jijimon. The Chieftain explains how there is a rare crop that grows in the village. Hawkmon adds that the village's economy depends on the Wingfruit, and that's why they are protective of it.
"Oh, that makes sense. I never would of figured you guys had something like that growing out here." "Who cares? You can have your Wingfruit. I'm a burgers and pineapples kind of mon."
Jijimon brings them their meals. Dante is unfamiliar with this dish.
(Thinking) "What is it? Must be some kind of local dish."
"You're not going to try and poison us, are you?" "I think we're in the clear now."
Before they have a chance to dig in, a bright flash can be seen out the window. Hawkeye is the first out the door, followed by Jijimon. Wormmon goes to dig in, but Dante grabs him and follows them outside. There, they see a young human that has suddenly appeared in the village.
"That's strange. Is she sleeping?" "Check her pockets for pepper." "Why would she have pepper in her pockets?" "I know it's a longshot, but I bet it would go great with our meal." "This is more important than food. We need to make sure that she's okay."
What was a human doing popping up like that in the forest? Had they been attacked? Were rifts between worlds appearing again, bringing humans to the Digital World? Dante wonders if the young girl will receive the same hospitality Hawkeye gave them, but suspects that Hawkmon will be softer than before. Then he wonders if this could be some kind of trick, a deception. Dante puts off his hunger for now to see how things play out.

"And you crossed about ten lines. What's the difference?" Hawkeye asked Wormmon, raising an eyebrow.
When they entered Jijimon's home, the owner was flattered by Dante's comment. "Why thank you, young man," he said, before turning towards Wormmon to respond to his comment. "Manservant? Why would I have one of those?"
After they explained the story about the Wingfruit, Dante became a bit more understanding, saying he never thought that a crop like that would be growing out here. "Unfortunately other Digimon did find out. We're inherently greedy as a species, so they came out here to our village and were willing to delete us to steal the fruit. It's my job to make sure that does not happen."
Dante and Wormmon seemed confused by the meals that was presented to them. "What's the big deal? It's just Wingfruit Stew," Hawkeye said, before a smile formed on his face. "A really damn good one too, since it was made by Jijimon."
They never did get the chance to taste it sadly, as there was another event going on outside. An unconscious little girl was just laying on the ground in the middle of the village, and no one was sure what to do. And all Wormmon cared about was checking her pockets for pepper. "Is food all you care about?" Hawkeye asked angrily.
Right about then, the girl became coming to. She lifted her head, groaning as her eyes began to open. "Unh... where am I?" the girl asked, trying to stand up. She soon realized that she was standing in some kind of village... with a bunch of monsters staring right back at her. They could see the girl's face slowly becoming white as a ghost.
I'm dreaming, right? Please someone tell me I'm dreaming!

"Whatever. At least I didn't threaten anyone's food."
Jijimon thanks Dante for the compliment on his home, and asks Wormmon why he would need a manservant.
"Oh, having a manservant is great! They have to do stuff for you, like cook and clean. It's kind of like being married, only a manservant doesn't talk as much, haha." "Please, let's not add misogyny to your list of offenses here today."
It stings Dante that some Digimon would delete others for the fruit, but it doesn't surprise him. Digimon are usually more primal than humans. Hawkeye explains that the food is the Wingfruit they had mentioned, and Jijimon makes the dish well.
"I am grateful for the chance to try it, thank you."
But before they had they started eating, they were distracted by the flash outside. Hawkeye asks Wormmon if he only cares about food.
"Let's see, food, video games, food, pretty girls, food, total annihilation, oh, and FOOD!" "You said food an awful lot there, little buddy."
The girl comes to, and wonders where she is at. It was clear that she is weirded out, asking someone to tell her she is dreaming.
"Let go of me, Dante. I got this one. Hee hee, this will be good."
Wormmon hops out of Dante's arms and crawls over to the girl. He stands up high on his back legs and starts waving his body around.
"Boo-hooooo! Yes, you are dreaming! Fetch me some ice cream, or I'll eat your brains! Mu hu ha ha ha ha!"
Dante looks disappointed in his partner.
"You're not helping." "Give me ice cream!"
It looks like Hawkeye will have to do a better job explaining things than the hungry hungry Wormmon. It was tough to keep Wormmon focused when he gets this hungry.

Hawkeye wanted to just completely faceplam when Wormmon provided that 'list' of things that he cared about. At least food wasn't the only thing on that list... it was just listed multiple times. Still, Hawkeye did not miss the part when Wormmon said he cared about total annihilation, though. Like I said, there's evil within the two of them. Still, they don't seem to be causing TOO much trouble, at least.
There were more troubling manners at mind though, like the human girl. She looked absolutely... well, confused more than freaked out, but she was definitely still trying to process what was happening around her. Wormmon then decides to make things even worse by going up to the girl and threatening to eat her brains if she didn't fetch him ice cream.
The reaction was probably not what he was expecting. "GET AWAY!" the girl yelled, kicking Wormmon right in the gut and sending him flying right next to Dante.
Hawkeye looked disapproving at the bug Digimon before making his own attempt to console the human. He walked slowly towards her, trying to show that he meant no harm. "Good day to you, ma'am. Do not worry, we are not going to harm you."
"Explain that to that... worm thing over there then," the angry girl said, pointing at Wormmon. "What is that thing? What are ANY of you? And where am I?"
"Look, how about we properly get introduced first, okay?" Hawkeye set down his bow and extended a wing towards the girl. "My name is Hawkeye."
"I..." The girl suddenly became more confident-looking, accepting Hawkeye's wing-shake. "My name is Kaya."
