[nospaces] [attr="class","dangerhead"] [attr="class","dangerbody"] [attr="class","dangericon"] [attr="class","dangertxt"] Are those... train tracks?[break][break] A sensation of all-consuming weightlessness envelops Saruyuki as he drifts through the sea of unconsciousness. The only sound, if it could be qualified as such, to reach him were those of a locomotive engine's iron wheels rumbling and chugging along what he could only assume, loosely speaking, were tracks. Beyond this phantom noise was nothing – merely a sea of endless white light.[break][break] ...Am I dead? The need to physically speak was beyond Saruyuki, and yet his thoughts echoed across this vast and empty expanse as transparently as he could focus on them. He tries to recall what had transpired, but his mind slips against itself as though it were a smooth and wet stone. What's... happening? His body is nowhere to be found. I... can't move...[break][break] A soft whistle reverberates on the invisible horizon, and a strange warmth suddenly fills the empty void, reminiscent of the morning sun. Saruyuki feels a sensation of nostalgia welling within his formless self, a kind of reverie that fills him with a kind of tranquility he never imagined possible. It reminds him of something, or perhaps...?[break][break] ...Mom? Is that...?[break][break] The whistling happens again, and seems to synchronize itself with the chugging of the train. Saruyuki cannot distinguish whether it is related or not. Nothing makes any sense, and yet he lacks the desire to fight the confusion that overwhelms him. ...I'm so scared... Please... Help me... I don't know what to do... If it were possible to cry, Saruyuki would want to do it right now, but no tears can be felt.[break][break] Just then, a memory flickers to the fore of his thoughts, like a candle being set alight for the very first time. Saruyuki had felt this sadness before, but he cannot recall where or when or even why. All that he could determine was that, somehow, it was an anguish that he wished so desperately to correct, to fix with his own two hands.[break][break] Another whistle, more faint this time, penetrates the void, barely audible over the sound of the train tracks as the engine's wrought-iron wheels passed over.[break][break] I can't... Not yet... Saruyuki feels a conflict rising within his soul, one side telling him to accept his inner desire to surrender, and the other pleading, screaming, for him to resist. This wasn't right. None of this felt right. He had resolved to finish what had been started — but why could he not remember?[break][break] I have to... go back...! I'm not done yet—! The radiance that swathes the empty space grows even brighter, the warmth in Saruyuki's nonexistent body becomes hotter and hotter, as if it were ready to burst into flames. Not when I can make a difference![break][break] Saruyuki is consumed with light, and the world turns silent.[break][break] —————— [break][break] A hiss of steam escapes from beneath the wheels of the train as it slows its approach before a quaint little open-air terminal, seemingly isolated in the middle of an enormous rolling plain that stretched on for many kilometers in all directions. Hydraulics pull the doors open at both ends, revealing the mangled and unconscious body of Saruyuki Takemitsu, coated from head to toe in sweltering bruises, gashes, and caked in his own blood.[break][break] " Hnnh. Usually, this is where I tell my passengers to depart, but..." a gruff, deep, male-sounding voice resonates from the locomotive's front, addressing nobody in particular. " It doesn't seem like he's waking up anytime soon." An awkward silence falls over the platform while a cool spring breeze carves through beautiful emerald grass.[break][break] Five minutes would pass before the presence grumbles to itself. " Here's hoping somebody picks this kid up," The voice says aloud. " All this blood in my cabin's gonna be a doozy to explain to the stationmaster..." [attr="class","dangerfoot"] [attr="class","dangertag"] @holly , anyone else that wants to join, hit me up!

Terminus.
A place that holly didn't really understand, didn't know very well and had only been there once. A place that she was curious about and a place that she could explore without much problem. She had been sent here by her ma to pick up some things but also for the most part she was unsupervised! Well if you counted having a tail of sorts being unsupervised at least...
Sure most of her time here had been spent doing that job but she didn't want to think about it! She wanted to explore, look around! Find out what she could about this massive place, maybe even find out about the human world a bit. She had only met two humans before, most of the ones she had seen while out and about were up to their own business and it wasn't like she was going to bother them.
Finding herself in the trailmon station the young digimon paused lightly at seeing all the brochures of places that digimon had gone. Some looked interesting, some looked boring and some... Wait they had libraries in the human world? Wasn't the great library originally a human based venture? She had to admit she didn't know much about that library's history even though she lived there!
Tucking three or four of those pamphlets away the meicrackmon padded along, ducking under or away of glances and glares that she could feel directed at her. It wasn't a shock that her kind wasn't very well liked, not with all the negative buzz around them. But would that matter in the human world? Did they know about the denizens here? Did they know about...
The meicrackmon paused when she could smell something that she recognized almost immediately. The coppery tang in the air, the frustration and worry of someone. The fear. She'd grit her teeth and pad along towards where she thought the source was. A particular trailmon that looked somewhat awkward. She'd flick an ear as she heard him talk to himself. Something about a passenger not waking up? And... wait did he say blood?
The meicrackmon didn't hesitate to address the situation, quicky bounding up to the trailmon where the stench of blood and worry came from. Yes this was exactly where her nose was leading her. Gritting her teeth she'd blow past the trailmon itself and just go into the cabin; doing a double take at seeing the mangled body of a human she didn't know. She maybe stared for a few seconds, her core processing what she was seeing here. Biting down on her lip she'd move quickly to the human's side.
"Check the pulse... breathing..."
Yes that was the first thing that she'd need to check right? Placing a thumb over the side of his neck the digimon would pause. Leaning forward to put her head next to his mouth to listen for air. She remembered a lot from those books in the library. Sure they weren't super in depth about everything but they thankfully told her enough to do this! She was greeted with the light breathing she expected and a decently steady pulse but... both of those along with the injuries she could immediately see told her that he needed treatment.
"I need to move him off of this... tch... Nearest hospital is about a block..."
The meicrackmon growled to herself, pushing out a few of her clones to check the train for first aid while the meicrackmon quickly addressed the worst of the gashes, trying to clean it up with some water from a bottle she had with her.
It took her maybe five or so minutes to find the first aid kit and before too long she was working on the human. Trying to relieve pressure of the bruises, fixing the gashes and trying to figure out where the blood itself was coming from. She wasn't being rough with the human, but she certainly wasn't being gentle either!
"All right lets get him to a hospital.."
Holly grunted and lifted the human up, quickly padding along with her clones following behind her. One of them waving at the trailmon while another worked on trying to clean up the blood that was in the trailmon still. The last two were fussing over the last parts of the human that they hadn't gone over.
It'd take them about another fifteen minutes before she managed to get to the hospital. Where she was just about to push through the doors when her clones simply poofed out of existence causing her to stumble. Someone had hit her clone that had been cleaning up making her lose her concentration!
"Tch... Not too far now..."

[nospaces] [attr="class","dangerhead"] [attr="class","dangerbody"] [attr="class","dangericon"] [attr="class","dangertxt"] As the steam engine prepares to depart from the terminal, the voice that emanated from its front end grumbled reluctantly. But just as the sliding doors prepared to close shut, a most peculiar savior came forward in response to the grisly scene, entering the cabin to inspect its one and only passenger, who lay motionless yet stable.[break][break] Well, I'll be a son of a Gumdramon. I can't tell which of us is really the lucky one here... Truly, this was a set of fortuitous circumstances for all three parties involved – Saruyuki Takemitsu, who most certainly would have died alone and stranded in this strange other world; the yellow-furred monster working hectically to save his life; and the sapient steam engine, who had an entire schedule of stops and transfers to make.[break][break] The locomotive patiently remains docked just long enough for the large felinoid monster to split herself into several duplicates, each one working in frantic unison with the others so that they might retrieve the unconscious Saruyuki from the cabin's interior, administer some rudimentary first-aid treatment, then wash away most of the blood in a gratuitous, but graciously welcomed, act of kindness.[break][break] The entire "operation" was done in slapdash execution, as it was far more pertinent for the bipedal beast and her brigade of busybody bootlegs to get Saruyuki to the closest medical facility currently available. As it turned out, they were well within distance of an utterly enormous and sprawling megalopolis the likes of which Saruyuki had never bore witness to before, but would inevitably come to know and see for himself firsthand; a city that put even the great and mighty capital of Tokyo to abject shame.[break][break] ——————[break][break] Bip. Bip. Bip. Bip.[break][break] Saruyuki picks up the distinctive noise of an electrocardiogram near his presence, followed by the sounds of his own breathing as it echoes behind an oxygen mask. His right eye is bandaged up, forcing him to strain his left one open. What was once a field of endless white luminescence slowly morphs into a series of metallic square ceiling tiles. Attempting to move his neck proves futile, as a massive plastic brace keeps his head positioned securely to a soft feather pillow.[break][break] What the...? Saruyuki struggles to formulate his thoughts in a timely fashion, a side effect to having been unconscious for so long. What hospital is this? He senses a heavy weight on his left arm and tries to lift it up, quickly discovering a plaster cast was now wrapped over it. He is left even more confused. What happened to me?[break][break] As he closes his only functioning eye to concentrate, faded memories of that heated brawl slowly reintroduce themselves to Saruyuki. Heavily, he lets out a sigh from behind his breathing apparatus. Jeez. They must have really fucked me up somethin' bad... he wonders, feeling woozy and delirious from the morphine drip being fed into the veins of his right arm.[break][break] Saruyuki could only speculate and theorize as to why he was even willing to go as far as he had, just to end up here, barely retaining his motor functions yet still alive nonetheless. He wanted to right a wrong, fix a problem that only he could see; those schoolyard bullies were pushing their weight on little kids, picking on people that couldn't even defend themselves... By trying to intervene, to stop the abuse, did he even do the right thing?[break][break] He sighs again. Several minutes pass before he thinks of another question, one more important than any of the others. How did I even get here?[attr="class","dangerfoot"] [attr="class","dangertag"] @holly

Honestly to her she was more surprised no one gave her a second glance on the way to the hospital, sure some of them seemed surprised but not even the trailmon questioned the cat's intentions. Made her wonder if people even cared or if they just had faith in someone not to be a dick to someone they had just met.
She earnestly hoped it was the latter, she didn't know what else to really think about people in the larger cities. Always busy, always going about their business without much thought. She would sigh however once within the hospital proper. Thankful that those within were quick to respond to her arriving with a rather beat up human.
Unfortunately for her they presumed that she was the human's digimon and wouldn't let her leave as much as she tried to explain otherwise. But it probably would bother whomever it was that just some random person had saved them and never got to say thanks. So holly sat down and simply waited, passing the time by perusing through the paper while they tended to the human.
Not too much later was she given his clothing, much to her surprise. They didn't even seem to care that she wasn't the humans, so she'd quietly rummage around through the pockets. Finding indeed that the human had a device and further still he had a wallet. Something that she knew that humans used to carry both money and identification. She'd go through it curiously, flicking her ears a bit and frowning to herself as she realized what she was doing.
Nono... I'm not stealing anything it's fine. What's his name?
The meicrackmon shook her head and fiddled with the wallet, eventually happening on the ID... The student ID that was within. She'd freeze and she felt her core quicken a bit. This guy was a student?! Why was he so badly hurt? And on a trailmon no less?! She'd bite her lip and put the wallet back into the pocket she found it in. Though the device...
Well she had never seen one up close before, biting her lower lip she'd go over it. It wouldn't respond to her of course, she wasn't the owner of it. But these things were magical in a sense, she also knew of a few that were being sold on the black markets. Well she presumed that they were still being sold, she hadn't bothered checking after she had parted with the guild.
It was curious really, unlike any of the ones she had managed to sneak a look at. Both in coloration and form this device stood apart. Maybe because all the devices she had happened across belonged to tamers and not... Well. Whatever this human was? She'd carefully hold onto the device, perking up a bit when a leomon in scrubs came to get her. It seemed that the human was now in a room, unconscious and waiting. So of course they'd come to get her now that it was 'safe'.
Wait just how long had she been here for? The meicrackmon blinked again when the leomon handed her a clip board. She'd wince a bit at seeing the price for the care they had to produce. But if this human had ended up getting hurt so badly and they needed it well... She'd quietly put her bit-card on the clip-board before handing it back to the leomon who simply padded away.
Holly let out a small sigh and stood up, hurrying along to the room-number that had been on the clipboard. Sooner still would she slide open the door, double checking the number before finding that yes indeed it was Saruyuki laying there. She could recognize someone easily after long enough but considering she saw both his ID and was the one to find him well...
It's Mr and then they're last name right?
The meicrackmon quickly closed the door behind her and came into the room. Uncertain if the human was even awake. She'd put down his clothing in one of the chairs, still holding onto that device before quietly speaking. She didn't sound terribly nervous but she did seem a touch worried for the human even though she had never met him before.
"Mr. Takemitsu? Are you awake?"

[nospaces] [attr="class","dangerhead"] [attr="class","dangerbody"] [attr="class","dangericon"] [attr="class","dangertxt"]
Just as Saruyuki was about to close his eyes and drift off back into the arms of Morpheus once again, the sound of a wooden door being swung open reaches his ears, and yet the neck brace prevents him from turning his head. Whoever it was remained out of his peripheral view, although it sounded like a woman based on how cautious she was with her question.[break][break]
"Ngh... Yeah, I'm awake..." Saruyuki croaks like a frog with a bad hangover, weakly lifting his only available arm up to his forehead, feeling an immense amount of heat radiating from it in spite of his pallid complexion. He groans, "You the nurse? How long was I out?" Saruyuki wants to glance around for a clock, but the fatigue swimming through his nerves robs him of motivation.[break][break]
He lets out a soft, but audibly concerning heave of air from the back of his throat. Nausea was setting in, which prompted Saruyuki to feel around with his right arm for some kind of remote control device that would allow him to sit up without the need to manually adjust his body. Most hospitals had this kind of technology for the convenience of the inpatients, so it wasn't too hard to infer the likelihood of such an implement being within reach.[break][break]
As he waits for his surprise visitor's response, Saruyuki's fingers wrap around a square-shaped pad with several buttons; if his face didn't hurt so bad, he'd have smiled in triumph. Lifting it up, he studies the controller's layout – sure enough, there were two circular buttons that would allow him to adjust the bed's elevation.[break][break]
He pushes and holds the 'up' option with a thumb...[break][break]
...and it takes roughly thirty seconds for Saruyuki's upper half to reach a position he could actually observe his surroundings with. Apparently, the motorized components were pretty old in comparison to the rest of the hospital. For God's sake, can this thing go any slower? Saruyuki complains mentally, his bandaged visage showcasing a direct reflection of the annoyance that ran through his mind.[break][break]
But once he settles on a posture that aimed to alleviate the sickly feelings welling up, the teenager's only available eye caught wind of a big, yellow, furry presence that quickly replaced any sensation of butterflies in his stomach with something closer to a slithering mound of worms.[break][break]
All attempts to produce language fail Saruyuki, and yet he cannot distinguish whether or not the being that stood close to the door was tangible and real, or a figment of his morphine-addled imagination. It appeared like some kind of large, stuffed cat? Were those tails, or scarves? Was it standing on its hinds? Did it just talk to him!? The more questions that poured into his immediate thoughts, the faster and more wild the beeps and blips of the electrocardiogram grew as his heart raced with a mixture of confusion and panic.[break][break]
Eventually, Saruyuki found the energy within himself to express his concerns with nothing less than confidence, eloquence, courtesy, and civility.[break][break]
Well, almost. "WHAT IN THE LIVING FUCK IS HAPPENING HERE!?"

Holly felt herself deflate a little bit when she heard the human speak, his throat must of been pretty raw and well she couldn't really be surprised at that. She was glad to see that he was at least on the recovering portion of all of this, though his movements were slow and judging from what she could see of the monitors he was still... somewhat affected by his injuries.
"Good good... Uhm. I'm the one that found you actually... and It's hard to really say, you were on a train."
Honestly how big of a jump could it of been? Had he been in the human world for that and then here? So to him it could of only been an hour or two while in the human world it could of been even less. She'd bite lightly on her lower lip, watching him carefully.
It took him a little bit to sort of get the hang of things while being in the bed. Making it raise up slowly; he was in one of the 'lower' class rooms for the moment. As they had yet to move him out of what amounted to the post surgery room. She could see the annoyance on his face and she'd just calmly wait.
Then there came that wide eyed look that followed, the meicrackmon's expression changed to confusion as she thought he might of been already aware of all this digital nonsense. It'd take maybe a moment or two for that to click before...
Oh he wasn't happy. He really wasn't. Her ears would flick at hearing that bleeps and bips pick up. Some sort of silent alarm triggering causing the outside light to turn a bright shade of red that followed very quickly with the human asking quite... well quite surprisingly what was going on. It'd make the meicrackmon jump a bit and she'd stumble back.
"Oh shoot I uhm- Wait- I.. uhm..."
The meicrackmon stumbled over her explanation, fumbling with the device in her hands. Not a second sooner did the leomon open the door looking around in surprise to see that yes the patient was awake. No he wasn't happy and he'd stare at the two for a moment before sighing softly.
"It'd be best if you remained calm Sir."
Holly on the other hand was still fumbling around with the device and almost dropped it when the leomon had come in. She'd lean to look at the large cat like individual and give a somewhat apologetic smile at him.
"If you... calm down Mr. Takemitsu I can explain... Or at least try to. My ma's probably better at it than I am but she's not here. Tch... if she was this probably would of gone differently!"
Right. If her da had been there he would of just ended up treating the human in a medical manner while her mother would of just healed him using her own abilities. The meicrackmon herself didn't have a single way to heal someone but if she did the poor young man in front of her would of been fine... ish.
"Oh uh. Uhm. Okay. So. Uhm."
...Try not to upset him."
The leomon growled quietly and simply closed the door, shaking his head slowly on the way out. Even going so far as to turn off that little alarm leaving the meicrackmon on her own with the human. Thinking something vastly different in comparison to what was going on normally. Holly'd fidget a bit and set down that device on the small table next to the 'bed'.
"Or... well. Hmm. Okay. Well. Uhm. You were on a train. And you were bleeding all over the place and I found you, the trailmon wasn't really happy so I kind of had me and my clones pick you up and bring you to a hospital. I had to sort of rummage through your things to find out your name and see what sort of device you had. Uh... Where's your partner?"
Nope she wasn't doing a good job, she had skipped over a few things. Then again this would be her first time so what else was she really supposed to do?
"Oh. Right. I'm holly by the way. Uh. A meicrackmon. If you know what those are."

In his terror to get away from the bizarre talking animal, Saruyuki had inadvertently activated an alarm feature within his room's remote pad before toppling over the right side of the bed with a pained grunt and several incoherent expletives in Japanese. He scrambles desperately to his hind quarters, newly revitalized by a powerful surge of adrenaline and fear, and uses his feet to backpedal to the opposite wall, pulling along his intravenous drip as if though it were trying to break away from his arm as well.[break][break]
Making matters worse, what appeared to be an enormous muscular lion wearing nurse's scrubs that made its image look even more unsettling poked its head through the door with an irritated scowl, commanding Saruyuki to calm down in unison with the other felinoid, who seemed more concerned about keeping the status quo rather than jumping at the opportunity to devour him like the tasty morsel he probably was. She also seemed to be holding something in those meaty paws of hers, but this mattered little to the teenager, who continued stammering in disbelief at what was happening.[break][break]
This isn't real, none of this is real, it's just one big fucking nightmare, it has to be... Despite Saruyuki's utter absence of composure, the yellow beast-woman seemed remarkably, er, collected about this whole sequence of events gone horrendously awry. Unfortunately, it seemed as if her exact prognosis of his situation was rather limited, if not woefully out of touch.[break][break]
Saruyuki rubbed his left eye with his right hand, seeing as how his left one was currently bound in its place with a thick and cumbersome plaster casing, hoping that this was all one delusional fantasy. The creature failed to disappear into the reaches of his psyche as she practically bombards Saruyuki's thoughts and senses with phrases and terms that do nothing except elude his understanding, to the blond boy's burgeoning bemusement.[break][break]
He grips the metallic stand that cradles his saline drip, wheeling it in front of his body as if though a makeshift quarterstaff, but unable to tilt it forward without entirely disarming himself of the only object he could use for defense. "And I'm losin' my goddamned mind!" Saruyuki shouts back to the furry visitor, who was even courteous enough to introduce herself as Holly as the throes of terror consumed his every waking thought. "You're a hallucination, aren't you!? I'm imaginin' all of this, right!?" He couldn't be more wrong.
