Apparently, Asher had managed to find the silver lining; common ground between the two girls! Sure, it was true that it was flimsy at most, but it had to amount to something, right? At the very least, it seemed like he was trying. Or maybe he was trying to tease Amelie? By now, she wasn't even sure.
"I don't know if that's supposed to be a compliment or not, considering your sister's personality." It didn't take a long for her to grin as well. Was she returning the teasing in kind? Probably. "Or maybe that you picked your girlfriend just because she reminded you of your sister? Not gonna lie; I'd feel super weird if my boyfriend ended up being having one of those weird sister complexes."
If it wasn't clear enough, the bout of laughter that followed would assure the redhead that the brunette had been joking the whole time. What could be said? Her sense of humor was as weird as it came; she hadn't expected it to effective, though. Considering how easygoing and prone to make jokes himself Asher had been, that came out as a surprise! Then again, it had been in the face of a similar-yet-different remark that he had almost choked on his drink back at the beach.
On her stead, Amelie would just nod appreciatively at Whisker's remark and apparently leave the topic be. At least regarding that one, she wouldn't twist the knife further. It had been arbitrarily set by her, but she decided that further embarrassing going on Asher's direction was unfitting for the situation. Why? A whim.
A shrug followed in the wake of the next question. "You can live it down as much as you want." Of course she was going to say that. A sly smile immediately took over her features. "But if you insist on disliking your past inactions that much, you should begin to think about what you're going to tell to our kid once they approach you with big eyes and an equally big smile, just to ask 'Daddy, daddy! Can you tell me how you and mommy met?'. That much is your responsibility as a future father, you know?"
Two things were fairly easy to infer. First off, Amy's 'childish' tone sounded utterly ridiculous. And second, she was clearly referring to the egg that the couple had discovered little more than nine months ago. Did she really think that it would hatch, or was she just using that as a tool to further tease Asher? In all fairness, not even she knew.
On a brighter note, at least it was evident that Whiskers' was a natural pillager! At least while fish-based food was involved in the pillaging. Would her talents come in handy to Amy in the future? Probably not, but that didn't make the current situation any less entertaining. Unlike the realization regarding most of the usual methods she had at her disposal to form any kind of bond with anyone were completely ineffective with Pip. How was she supposed to befriend a person who seemed to be pretty much friendship-proof? Was she just the ultimate pain-in-the-ass-sister-in-law? Despite what the evidence showed, it was kinda hard to believe.
"If being friends is impossible. I hope that at least someday she can greet me without plotting murder in cold blood behind my back. That's not much to ask, right?" Hopefully it wouldn't! Even if... the brunette's gut feeling told her otherwise.
It was a good thing that the girl could distract herself with the idea of a trip abroad, however! Away from most of her obligations, and with the only goal to have a good time with her boyfriend. What else was there to ask? "I mean, I thought that dates were just a single outing, but if you wanna call the trip 'a date', it's not like I'm gonna oppose or anything." Despite that attempt at being clever, it was pretty easy to infer that the declaration had made Amelie quite happy "There's a lot of places I wanna visit. Think we'll be able to be go to them all?"
When prospective fun was at the horizon, the young woman surely managed to sound like a little girl; a very excited one, at that. The fact that Whiskers might or might not go seemed like a mild inconvenience at best right now, even if she made an effort to properly address the feline's concerns. "Honestly, I have never heard of any digimon getting stuck inside a V-Pet; I'd say that just doesn't happen. But then again, that's your choice! You could always remain here; I guess Pip would take good care of you? I could send my roommate to visit you every now and then as well, if you want somebody to talk to. She's really fun; I'm sure the two of you would have a blast together."
Ooi's a good girl. Whiskers is as well. What else was there to ask? The two could even venture to the Digital World together if they wanted! Maybe to the point where writing a spinoff was worthwhile!
A shrug was the ultimate response regarding both that topic or the prospect of her and her boyfriend's sister managing to bond over something. It was regrettable they had begun with the wrong foot, but... "I think I decided to not lose sleep over Pip hating me. If she decides to warm up to me at some point, that'd be great, but if she decides to be hostile to me until the day she becomes my bridesmaid and beyond, I think I'm just going to ignore her. That's probably the best I can do, right? I think that arguing with her isn't gonna be productive at all. At least that much I have learned from my first conversation we had."
Smart, stubborn, and with a tongue as sharp as a knife. Those three traits have been the most evident the redhead girl had displayed on that relatively short exchange. The two made for an explosive combination, and not exactly in a good way. How would such a relationship evolve? The two would probably antagonize each other at every opportunity they had for a long time, but at least for now, the brunette preferred to not think about that. Why would she, when she was currently living a simple moment of pure happiness? Spoiling it with those thoughts would be a disservice to herself, so...
"A half and a half sounds good. Let's order, then! I'm beginning to get hungry and..." Regrettably, Amy's own statement would be interrupted mid-sentence by the sound of the entrance door being opened. Her body jolted a bit in surprise, even though the realization regarding who could be hit her right after. Was it really okay for her to greet her parents-in-law in such a position? She considered incorporating and at least trying to straighten her clothes for a second, but it was already too late; they were here!
And... Holly seemed to be quite drunk. Good thing? Bad thing? Amy didn't know, and it wasn't like she had a lot of time to think about that! The blonde was already asking a battery of questions that managed to not make the most sense, but where understandable enough. How would she answer them? Making an effort, the brunette proceeded first to sit, and then to stand up from the couch. How formal was this supposed to be? How formal was she expected to be?
"Y-yes, ma'am. We're dating." She held a somewhat awkward smile the whole time. That statement sounded a bit stiff, but mostly due to nervousness and surprise than actual dislike. "Pleased to meet you! My name's Amelie, and... I think we're fine; thanks for the offer." She turned back for a second in order to look at her boyfriend. "R-right?"
This was probably some sort of divine justice; Asher would surely feel vindicated about how awkward his girlfriend had made him felt mere moments ago. It seemed like now it was her turn to go through that!

Now, there was probably one thing that people should never joke about. Dating siblings. Asher paled a little at the thought! "I assure you, I don't want to date my sister." God, that'd be gross! For a lot of reasons! In response to the laughter, though? He'd shift to pull the brunette into a hug, before kissing her temple. "If you're not trying to kill me by choking me, you're trying to kill me with your words!" Amelie was murderous!
And, though he had managed to keep a straight face thus far, it faltered immediately upon hearing Amy's pretend-child voice. But! The teen was still an actor! So in a quick breath, his expression became extremely sincere, with a soothing, story-telling tone. "Well, honey," he'd start, convincingly as if he were talking to the imaginary child, "Your mommy and I met at the park. She was sitting alone, so I offered to play a game with her to keep her company," a much better story of their meeting, right? "And then we met again at a coffee shop. And again, on a blind date. So, it had to be fate! Except, Daddy's what we call an asshole." Finally, the monologue would crack, as laughter began to seep in, "but that's okay, though, because Mommy's the Queen of Guilt Trips, so I wasn't able to pretend for long that I didn't like her." Did that make the imaginary child the princess of guilt trips?
God, he hoped not.
"How's that for a story?" Terrible! And, judging from Asher's laughter, he was well-aware that there was no way that he could use that with an actual child! Now, would Amy find the narration funny, or would she just find it horribly rude? "But," he added, after his laughter settled, "I think we have enough time before that day, for me to craft a pretty decent story. If I ever need to tell one." Hopefully he wouldn't! He just knew if he had a kid that asked that question in earshot of Amy, that she'd be all over the conversation!
But, while the imaginary child seemed to have stories about how great Asher and Amy would get along, it was hard to say if there'd ever be any about the sister-in-law getting along with the brunette! A thoughtful hum came from the redhead's throat, "it might be plausible!" Maybe. Sort of.
It was probably going to take some coaxing from Asher, to get Piper to simmer down a bit.
Vacations were more important right now, anyway. Safe from Pip's wrath, and somewhat relaxing! "It'll be an extended date." Because, that's totally how that word worked! "I'm sure we can figure out an itinerary." Unless Amy wanted to visit every country in the span of a day. That might be a little difficult to plan! And a little expensive.
"I wanna meet mewr roommeowt!" Well, it sounded like Whiskers was looking for an excuse not to be put in a V-Pet! But, if Ooi was up for it, Whiskers certainly wouldn't mind the company. Maybe they could find something to bond over!
Did Amy's roommate like tuna? Whiskers sure hoped so.
'Bridesmaid and beyond', huh? Asher couldn't help but chuckle at the thought. Amy was pretty good at looking into the [over-dramatized] future! But, he didn't mind the occasional odd fantasy that the brunette had. It wasn't like she was serious, anyway! Right?
...Right?
There wasn't too much time to think on it, with Asher's parents entering the scene! While Asher's initial intent was to just order the food while Amy got through introductions, he had to pause as she addressed his step-mom. "Ma'am?" Oh god, was she offended? A hilariously distressed expression came across her face. "No, no! It's Holly! Don't you call me a ma'am! It makes me feel old!"
...Okay. Back to ordering sushi. And, in the process? Before Amy could fully stand up, Asher used his free hand to pull her back to sitting on the couch. What was with that?
"Yeah, the temperature's fine," the redhead hummed, while setting up the order on his phone.
"I'm sure you two are making the room warm enough, as-is," the woman chimed, far-too-cheerfully. And, definitely not subtly. "We bought champagne. It's in the kitchen, if you want any!" No question on if Amy was legally old enough. Just. Offer the booze.
"Holly's had," Asher's dad finally joined in, while pulling his wife a little further from Amy, "a bit too much tonight, anyway." Still no concern of legal ages here. Ah well. "I'm Connor. Don't mind us too much. We're... really just trying to go upstairs."
At least they offered something in exchange for their intrusion! "I love your hair! Is that your natural hair color?" And, at least, Piper's mother was a lot more friendly than Piper was! "It's just so pretty." Pause. Would anyone stop the woman? No takers? That was fine. "I'm just so glad we get to meet you! You should come over more often!"
This woman really couldn't be Pip's mom, could she? One could probably almost mistake her for Asher's, with that friendly of a personality, though! But, true to his word, Connor was already guiding the woman through the room, and to the staircase by the hall. "Hopefully, next time, Holly will be a bit more sober," the man chuckled, while beginning to lead her up the stairs.
"Need help?"
"I have it," he stated, continuing up the stairs until the duo were out of sight.
And when they were? Asher put his phone down again, to lean toward Amy and teasingly whisper, "ma'am? Really?"

Amelie hadn't expected a serious response in the face of her poor attempt at humor, even if that ended up making the whole deal a lot funnier. Asher had quite the penchant for the dramatic, didn't he? Unsurprising, even if, like usual, she'd try to have the last word. After she was pulled into a hug and kissed, she'd turn just enough for them to be face to face and pecked him straight into the lips. A smirk could clearly be seen in her face before she turned back.
"Would trying to kill you with kisses would be more acceptable? Because I can definitely do that." Maybe a bit too mushy for usual Amy speech, but considering all the jokes and teasing Asher had withstood thus far, it was probably okay for her to relent a bit. Just a little bit.
So, how did the redhead react to her acting like their future kid? Let's just say that the brunette got more than what she had bargained for and maybe even more than that. She began to laugh pretty much at the same time than him, and even ended up clapping as soon as he was done with it. At least she couldn't be blamed for being a lousy audience!
"I liked the tale. It needs a bit of polishing, but it can work out." Of course not. There was no chance of them using that, not even as a bedtime story. "Queen of Guilt Trips, though? Am I that bad? I just use guilt-tripping only when completely necessary!"
Which, thus far, had been only once. And frankly? Amy wasn't even sure if the two would be dating if it hadn't been for that; sure, it hadn't been a direct result of that action, but it was what kickstarted the whole thing, right? Only righteous causes! "Oh well. At least you can look at the flipside. You can say you're dating royalty. Ain't that nice?"
Even if that attempt at joking had been pretty fun, she had to admit that Asher had a point. "I know." She admitted. For all intents and purposes, their egg might be fossilized, and there was a fair bit of time until she even considered the possibility of having proper kids. "It's not like the egg is going to hatch tomorrow by some miracle reason, either. We probably have plenty of time to plan ahead, so I'm taking it slowly. Besides, there's a lot of things I'd like to do before settling down."
Would Piper and Amelie ever be able to get along? Or be in civil terms, at least? One-sided goodwill didn't seem to be enough, but hopefully, that would be able to eventually mellow her, even if just a bit? That'd be nice, for sure, even if something that, at least the brunette, didn't expect to happen anytime soon.
Good thing that'd be relegated as an inconsequential concern in the wake of the date™, which at this point meant a decently long trip that would just include the two of them; it wasn't hard to tell that Whiskers had jumped ship. "Yeah, we'll definitely figure it out. We'll have a lot of fun! I'm sure of it." The possibilities were there, and the amount of things they could do were pretty much limitless. What else was there to ask for? Not a lot, frankly.
A pat was given to the cat once she expressed interest in meeting Ooi. "I'm sure you'll get along wonderfully. She's a good girl, even if a bit clumsy, and she's studying to be a nurse! Feels a bit bad that she didn't get dragged in this whole chosen deal, but it isn't like she can do a lot about it. Make sure to get her to the Digital World while I'm away, and she'll end up loving you. I'm sure of it."
Luckily —or unluckily, maybe?— the couple wouldn't be able to dwell too much on the topic. Asher parents were here, and even if it didn't show at plain sight, Amy hadn't been this nervous in a long while. While expected, their appearance had still managed to be a bit surprising; she didn't want to cause yet another bad impression, which led her to use a term that might've been a bit too formal and... oops.
"Oh, sorry! It wasn't my attention, Holly." She quickly apologized. Wait, that hadn't come out right. "I-Intention. I meant intention. Sorry." Yup, this was going extremely well. It wouldn't take a lot more than this for the brunette to die of an acute case of embarrassment. To make matters worse? She had been forcefully dragged back before she could fully stand up; sure, anyone who wasn't as nervous as the young woman could guess that was a sign for them to chill. To Amelie, however? It took her a couple of seconds to realize that. Right now, she was like a deer in front of headlights. It took her a sigh to finally try and compose herself, even if she couldn't help to blush a bit at Holly's remark.
At least Amy managed to remember she had introduced herself already, otherwise, she'd have just done so again. Try to keep the embarrassment to the minimum! She smiled at the obviously happy couple. "I bet you had fun."
Before she could add anything, however, Holly began to speak again. Her... hair? "Yes. I haven't tried to dye it yet because I like it as it is. I'm glad you like it as well!" After a pause, she added with a smirk. "I'd love to come here more often. Maybe you could convince Asher that's a good idea? I've tried to, but he's a bit adamant about it."
Little did the couple know that chances were they'd be properly introduced to each other the very next day while having breakfast together! At least they were finally on their way. For the young woman, that was an utter relief. "Hopefully! Have a good night."
Once the two disappeared, she let out a sigh. Just then, Asher decided to face her with the cold, hard facts. Truth was that... hadn't been very smooth. "I wasn't really thinking, was I?" Her expression looked somewhat worried and distressed. "When I saw them, I got nervous and... maybe a bit too stiff? I just thought that I didn't want to cause another bad impression after what happened with Pip. Think I screwed up? I tried to fix it midway through but... I don't know if it was good enough."
Dramatic? Yes, but also how the girl felt. It seemed like a serious matter to her to cause a good first impression, and she definitely thought her attempt wasn't good enough. It didn't help that her stomach began to rumble somewhat comically right afterward. Talk about embarrassing!

At Amy's latest 'death threat' Asher gave a contemplative hum. "I mean, maybe that wouldn't be too bad!" Don't test it. He would probably change his mind very quickly if he was smothered by someone else's face for too long. Luckily, the couple seemed more likely to die from laughter, than anything that might actually pose a threat!
As far as her defense on her new royal title, though? "I mean, don't queens usually only use their greatest weapons when they're completely necessary?" Right. Like, daily. That was completely necessary, right? He was pretty sure it had to be! Though, daily might make him a king of dramatic reaction, instead. It really hadn't been much guilt tripping, after all! And, he had kind of fallen into the whole thing pretty easily.
Surely, Asher could have avoided the whole thing pretty easily, if he had prepared to.
Royalty or not, it seemed Amy was aware that her Queenly power wouldn't make a mystery egg spontaneously hatch. But, that was probably for the best. Asher needed to craft a far better explanation for their relationship before anything could be alive and asking such questions!
Between plans of talks with imaginary digi-babies, vacations, and Whiskers becoming besties with a nurse-that-wasn't-quite-a-nurse, it seemed like the group would be quite busy in the future! So they'd have to focus on more immediate things. Like Holly! And, like Amy's speech problems!
Luckily, the blonde was completely clueless to the mistake, and it was surely only noted by the entertained boyfriend in the room. "It was so much fun! We never get to go out! You'll know what it's like when-"
"We went out last weekend," was a quick interruption, that surely would save Amy from a long speech about parenthood and being an adult, or something equally awkward.
But, Holly wasn't going to end any conversation so easily! With the topic switching to hair, and then to the idea of Amy being frequent company. Why would she pass up the chance to have someone over all the time? "Well! We'll have to fix that! If he won't invite you over, I'll do it." Defiant mother! Or, something like that.
It might be weird to hear, if Holly wasn't clearly intoxicated.
"Bed," her husband stated, bluntly, while ushering her to the stairs. As far as Amy might be able to see Holly's ascent of the steps, she'd probably see the woman trying to wave goodbye. Well, at least that ended on a pretty good note! At least, as much as it could.
But, once they were gone, and Amy had time to fret, Asher couldn't help but burst into laughter. Burying his face in her shoulder, the redhead snickered, "you so weren't." More hard facts. Except, now she had to decide if it was insulting to be laughed at. Or with? Would she find it funny at all? "It was," he paused, leaning away from the brunette if she hadn't already shoved him away for laughing at her, "so cute."
Granted, any sentiment Amy could probably take from that would be rudely interrupted by her talkative stomach, which only made Asher begin laughing again. "You're lucky I ordered the food while you were talking to Holly. It should be here soon." Thank goodness!
Shifting to stand, the redhead gave a thoughtful hum. "If you want, I'll start pouring champagne, and we can have it with dinner." While it was definitely an offer that could be rejected, it seemed pretty obvious that Asher didn't expect his girlfriend to decline. Perhaps, because she probably needed something to settle her massive anxiety right now! "You're not drinking it until the food's here, though," he added, with a chuckle. Empty stomachs and any sort of alcohol just didn't mix.
But, once he had made it to the kitchen doorway, there was another pause. Before anything further could be said or done, there was a knock at the door! Which, meant that Amy actually had less time to wait for food to arrive than anticipated! "Would you mind getting that, while I pour drinks?" Asher hummed, waiting to make sure the brunette would actually follow the request before continuing onto his current mission, "I already paid for it online, so it doesn't matter who answers." That way, they'd be able to sit back down and have food more quickly! Teamwork!
Unless Amy was going to be too busy stressing about her interaction with his parents to be able to leave the couch. Hopefully, that wouldn't be the case! Also hopefully Asher would reassure her better once she was able to get food in her stomach. Most of life's insecurities were caused by hunger, after all!

Indeed; right now, it was more likely for the couple to die from laughter than from anything actually lethal. But, considering the situation at hand, that probably the best possible outcome. Not to say that said laughter was actually exacerbated by Asher's own spin at 'How I Met Your Mother'. The grin on the brunette's face wasn't fading any time soon, that was for sure.
"Only when absolutely necessary, huh? You might be giving me too much credit. But~ yeah. Let's leave it at that." She wasn't going to throw shade at herself, after all! No proper queen would do that to herself, right?
Then again, she wasn't really a queen. Nor she wanted to. And it wasn't like she had a lot of time to think, considering that she was quite busy with Holly at the moment. It was a good thing that the situation had calmed down considerably! Even Amy was beginning to calm down after what could be called a faux pas. She couldn't help but smile at the blonde's cheerful disposition.
"Wouldn't be able to refuse such an invitation. Ever." The brunette got to reply before the woman was dragged to the stairs by her husband. "Thanks for the warm welcome, by the way!"
With that episode over, Amy could finally focus on her boyfriend. And how he had managed to laugh at her after the whole ordeal was over. It was a good thing that he couldn't see her puffing her cheeks at the moment, given he had buried her face into one of her shoulders just to laugh more.
At least the laughter managed to make her snap off that bout of self-doubt. "Gee, thanks." She managed to respond right after a 'compliment' was thrown her way. "Just when the cute girl needs a supportive boyfriend, said boyfriend decides to just mock her a little more just because. Ain't it heartwarming?"
Her expression conveyed that she wasn't holding a grudge over this, however. In hindsight, her behavior had been kinda dumb, however... "I'd love to see if you fare any better when it eventually becomes your turn to meet my family. It'd be great if you can remain as confident as you are at the moment."
Before they could argue more, however, an upset stomach and yet more laughter interrupted the whole deal, followed by Asher devising a plan that, at least given the current state of events, seemed to be completely flawless. And the reason why she wouldn't stay annoyed at him... at least for now.
After a sigh and finally letting go of the previous interactions, the young woman smiled. "Sounds like a plan. Even though the whole 'you're not drinking until the food's here' sounds like you're Dad or something. Not like I'd have done it, anyway; I've experienced what alcohol does to an empty stomach firsthand."
Luckily, that'd be a story for another day; it seemed like the food had arrived! She didn't even have to listen to what Asher had to say to be on his way towards the house's entrance. That was hunger speaking at its finest! Not even a couple of minutes later, Amy was by the dining room's table, a stack of boxes neatly resting on top of her arms. It'd probably take the duo a couple of minutes to set everything up, but once that was done, the most likely result would be the two sitting next to each other while preparing to dig in. Or in the brunette's case, already digging into the food; ladylike manners be damned. She was hungry!
Once at least three pieces of sushi had been eaten and a sip of champagne had been taken, she'd finally speak again. "You know, this might sound mushy but... I'd have laughed if anyone told me that moving to Japan would have this result. Life's just full of surprises, isn't it? I can't really complain, though."
One had to wonder what was the point Amelie was trying to make. At plain sight, that just seemed like a very out of place comment, especially since she seemingly dropped the topic out of the blue. "Are you gonna walk me home once we're done for the night? That'd make me happy."
Probably a request she didn't even have to make, but hey. Considering everything that had happened this night, having at least some sort of reassurance would be nice.

At least no moment had a chance to stay too tense with the two! From drama queens, to meeting parents, it seemed! "It's very heartwarming, if you ask me!" Asher chuckled, "how do you suppose I should be supportive next time?" Was he legitimately asking, or expecting to be brushed off? He'd leave it up for interpretation!
Granted, there was a small pause, before giving a brief, but tight, hug. And then in a cocky tone, the redhead hummed, "oh, I'll be great with your family." Maybe he sounded a little too confident, there! Maybe it would be a cause for concern. Or, the whole thing would just blow up like the Piper situation! But, Asher was plenty confident that his skills as an actor could at least stop him from stammering about too much!
Not that they'd have too much time to discuss that eventual situation, anyway! With stomach growlings and talk of booze versus empty stomachs, they were busy with another conversation soon enough! "Maybe I'm practicing for being a digimon dad?" Except, not really. It would be a long while -- if the egg even hatched -- before there would be talk of giving the digimon alcohol! "Or, maybe I've seen people drink on empty stomachs after having conversations with people that made them nervous?" Which, seemed more likely. And, Amy certainly had been nervous just moments before!
Either way, food was soon present, and drinks were poured! Whiskers helped herself to a dish full of sushi, before proudly leaving the room. What, she didn't want to interrupt their dinner? How considerate, for once! Either that, or she was worried someone would eat all the rest of the sushi, and expect her to share hers, which certainly wasn't going to happen!
Soon after, Asher would take a seat and begin eating. Once Amy began talking, the redhead paused to take a drink. "Mushy, huh?" he murmured, giving a small shrug. "If you ask me, it seems like they've been pretty good surprises, lately." Was that some sort of compliment, in a way? At least Amy wasn't making any complaints about her surprises. Sure, it had been a moderately random statement, but the atmosphere felt sort of suiting for it!
Now, as for Amelie's next question? There was a pensive hum, while Asher put his glass back down on the table. Only giving further delay, the young man picked up another piece of sushi, stopping moments before putting it in his mouth. "If you want, but," he started, focusing on the blue-eyed girl. "I was wondering," there was another short pause, though a casual tone was maintained throughout the entire question, "if you'd like to stay the night, instead?" Well, that was fairly forward! At least it didn't seem that he was trying to pressure her. Immediately after asking, the spirit user resumed eating, while waiting to see which option the brunette preferred.

Had Amy's mind been a bit clearer, she'd have probably issued a sharper retort to Asher's words. Right now? She was doing her very best at not being teased to death. "I think that our definitions of heartwarming are vastly different. And that yours is the wrong one, by the way; you should get it checked out."
In the face of the question that followed, the brunette just stared at her boyfriend with an expression that was quite good at conveying a single word. 'Really?' All in all, she wasn't minding the current exchange once her nerves had eased. This was who Asher was, pretty much. Trying to change him would be an exercise of pointlessness... and it wasn't like she wanted to do that, anyway; suddenly finding herself in the receiving end of that hug meant more than anything he could have said.
The degree of confidence the redhead showed in the face of meeting Amelie's own family was certainly reassuring, even though the smirk she gave him almost as an instinctual reaction would be telling that maybe he'd get more than what he bargained for. "I'm sure you will. I'm sure."
For now, things would be left at that. There was no reason to breach that topic just yet, was it? It wasn't like neither her parents nor her siblings were visiting any time soon. Right now, there were more pressing matters the duo had to attend. For example, the food that was about to arrive, or how alcohol could screw somebody up real bad if drank on an empty stomach.
Or how Asher was practicing to be a Dad himself, apparently. "I'm sure you'll be the greatest digimon dad ever. But I doubt our kid will want to try alcohol any time soon. Or maybe even be born, if that ever happens." A smile was the natural follow-up. "You caring side is kinda cute, though. I'll give you that."
That conversation would give way to pretty pleasant dinner, even if it included the brunette's random musings on her recent life. What did she mean to say? She probably didn't even know, but, for some reason, felt oddly happy after saying it. "They have been. Very."
A plain, yet frank retort. The complete opposite to her expression after she was asked to stay the night. For a second, Amy risked just spitting the champagne she had been drinking to that very second; it took her a while to compose herself and to munch on a piece of sushi to at least pretend she was thinking about the proposal.
"Really?" Amy knew that Asher probably wouldn't joke about something like this, yet she still found herself doubting the statement. "Will that... be fine?"
If given a positive response, she'd beam happily at the notion. "I wouldn't mind that. Just let me call Ooi and tell her I won't be home tonight."
Overall, she guessed that this was a fitting conclusion for Valentine's Day. While it hadn't started off so well, its ending had been very enjoyable. For now... Amelie could only hope that Asher's room was relatively soundproof. Or that his parents would decide to ignore the sounds that'd come from it eventually. [Exit]
