It had been a long day for a certain red head.
She had spent the morning and most of the afternoon helping the fledgling city clear away dead branches high in the sheltering treets. Given that some of these branches weighed more than she did this had been tiring work!
After digging sawdust out of her nails and brushing woodchips off her jeans Hiroyo was satisfied she looked less like something from the Nature Spirits family and more like a human. She stepped out of the bathroom and looked around, noting the details she hadn't noticed on her rush to the bathroom before, mainly the blatant casino theme everywhere.
Judging by the complete and utter lack of empty tables it was a popular place! She took this as a good sign and took one of the few open seats at the bar, flashing her neighbors on either side an apologetic grin because she couldn't sit without sitting beside someone while wondering if she was going to find orange fur from her neighbor in her drink. She settled in to take in the approximately million and one flavors behind the bar.
"Meatshake? Stalwart Seaweed? Ew!" She whispered, gagging at the thought of that. She would and had eaten both of those things but not as a milkshake! At least there were normal flavors on the board. A purple Digimon with a head like a jester's hat rolled over to stand in front of her and took out her notepad.
"Hi! Welcome to the Lucky 7! I'm Vegasmon, your lovely host! Are you feeling lucky? Maybe want to try our random flavor wheel today?" The grin on Vegasmon's face widened and she leaned toward Hiroyo over the bar, eyes fixed and expectant. Hiroyo had faced pushy salesfolk before but this was new. "You'll never know what you get!"
"Just a chocolate, please!" She replied without hestitating because not knowing what she was going to get with some of the choices on the board seemed like a dangerous gamble! Her stomach wasn't up to it.
"O-oh. Coming right up!" Vegasmon wilted at the order then perked right up, quickly scribbling a note on her pad before wheeling away to take another customer's order. Hiroyo quickly realized that Vegasmon's game was apparently to take a bunch of orders at once then duck into the kitchen, how would she ever keep them straight?
Apparently keeping the orders straight wasn't a problem for Vegasmon, or at least not a pressing concern. When she rolled back out of the kitchen with a number of colored plastic cups balanced on a giant betting chip her eyes were twinkling with delight.
"Drinks are up! This job's so easy I could do it in my sleep, so lets shuffle!" Vegasmon crowed as she closed her eyes and twirled in a circle with her arms out spread. She pulled her arms in as she continued to spin - now following the path along the bar. With eyes still closed she pulled the drinks off and served them, Hiroyo was surprised to find that despite her eyes being closed Vegasmon was accurately placing drinks only in front of those who had just ordered.
A light blue cup was set in front of her with a bright red straw sticking from the top. Hiroyo eyed it suspiciously and then took a sip. She made a face as she pulled away and stood up while holding up the cup and asked loudly "Who ordered Strawberry Banana?"

Holly's day had certainly been a lot like Hiroyo's. But then again the meicrackmon barely needed sleep, every day was a long trek of researching, doing experiments on varying stones and even studying to get into those schools that she had looked into. She still wanted to prove herself before getting into them but there was as always very little that she could do to really prove she wasn't a waste of time for them. Then again with how high her aptitude scores were most schools were scrambling to get her. She wondered quietly just how much her scores would improve if she studied even more before taking the test again.
Thus why she came to rosewood to one of the little diners that were there, a simple one really with simple people and such. It wasn't hard for her to come here while staying around her mother. Hell vander tower wasn't even too far away! She'd drum her fingers on the counter of the bar as a human of all things took a seat next to her. The young meicrackmon tilting her head slightly; she hadn't met many humans as of the moment. In fact she could only remember about three others. None of them were like this human, though she'd return that grin with a small smile and shifted in her seat so she wasn't taking up so much space. Hearing the human speak the meicrackmon's ear flicked. She wasn't directing the statement at her or anyone for that manner but the meicrackmon herself chuckled.
It wasn't too long before they ordered their drink, in comparison the meicrackmon had already ordered one herself. She wondered what exactly the human would get but her question was quickly answered; just a chocolate? She couldn't blame the human, chocolate was one of the best tastes after all!
Holly sighed softly however when the Vegasmon shuffled the drinks and handed them out to each person. There would either be a mad scramble to figure out who had what or a few people would just get into their drinks as it was. Holly really wanted her strawberry banana and sincerely hoped that she would get it. Once a cup was in front of her she'd take a testing sip and furrow her brow a bit.
"Chocolate..."
She'd mumble quietly and turn her head to find that the human was less than pleased with the drink they got but quickly addressed the fact by asking who ordered strawberry banana. Holly blinked a few times and slowly removed her straw out of the drink before gesturing to the human that hopefully would do the same.
"That would be me; though I can't really argue with the choice of chocolate..."
Holly let out a small chuckle, and held out a hand for her drink hoping that the human wouldn't be too bothered by the fact she had a little sip of their drink. The meicrackmon tilted her head slightly and stared at the human uncertain for a moment.
"I don't meet many humans... What's your name?"
Actually holly had met quite a few humans at this point, though it was always in passing and she would never really get their names. She'd see them on the streets or coming through the great library. But humans were always busy and if they didn't need you for something or didn't know you they were quick to move on. She figured it was more for their own safety than anything!

"Oh, great! I don't even have to walk for this!" Hiroyo grinned as she plopped back down into her seat and followed Holly's lead, pulling the used straw out of the shake and then sticking it in the correct cup. She was rather glad the cat had demonstrated that bit of foresight, Hiroyo probably would have just traded cups without thinking about it.
Even with the excellent side-stepping of swapping potentially weird digital mouth germs - 'do digital cats also have a lot of things in their mouth like real cats?' - Hiroyo took her first tentative sip. There were other unpleasantries that could befall her, but as luck would have it the cup was indeed chocolate and even better: 'Oh good, no fur!' She flinched as she thought it, then quickly took a bigger drink as if she hadn't just thought of something horribly rude and embarrassing if she had said it out loud.
Hiroyo picked up her head and leaned back in her chair with a very content sigh. "Ah, that hits the spot. Strawberry banana can be good but I wanted something more indulgent." The red head confessed. She was content to turn back to face the behind the bar scenery where Vegasmon was apparently arguing with another question but Holly's question snagged Hiroyo's attention quite quickly.
Politeness was a hard habit to break.
"I'm Hiroyo," She said, skipping her last name because Digimon didn't usually care about those. When in Rome do as the fluffy cat-people do, right? Although, what exactly was her trading partner? She squinted as she considered the tricky navigation that came with interplanetary discussion. Diplomancy wasn't her strong suit but surely she couldn't do worse than Roger...
"So! Uhm, I know not all digimon have individual names, what do you like to be called?" She fumbled her words a bit but otherwise she smiled happily but that was a neat enough way of asking! Either she got a name or a species(?) name and either answer would be better than nothing!

"Kind of convenient isn't it?"
The meicrackmon chuckled lightly and shook her head, eyeing the human curiously as they followed her lead. It would of made more sense since they were strangers in that fashion right? Some people would be uncomfortable in sharing straws and some wouldn't. Holly was the sort that didn't care but she knew that not everyone was like herself!
Holly seemed to enjoy her drink though, sucking down quite a sizeable portion of her drink. She even seemed to miss the flinching that the other did though she managed to catch the look that followed which only prompted her to raise a brow.
"I haven't tried it before, I'm more partial to just strawberry but you can't learn if you like something without trying it!"
The meicrackmon snickered lightly and ran her claw around the edge of her cup. The arguing of the vegasmon caught holly's attention but thankfully the human did answer her question. It was a pretty name, but didn't humans usually have two names? The meicrackmon would of asked about it but she'd need to comment on the first name first!... Well firstly? Firsthand? What was that called again?
"That's a pretty name!"
Holly beamed brightly, unsure exactly what the human was thinking about now that she got her answer from them. Which came probably one of the most indirect polite ways to ask 'what species are you' and 'what is your name?' Holly let out a marvelous giggle and drummed her claws on the bar, still slurping away at that smoothie. She'd of course finish her sip before setting it down, leaning lightly on her hand.
"I'm Holly! I'm a meicrackmon, well. This is a meicrackmon but my rookie form is actually a meicoomon. So I suppose I'd be a meicoomon then a meicrackmon?"
A somewhat flabbergasted look crossed her face and she'd put a finger up to her lips uncertain if that was the right answer for this human. But then she'd just roll with it and follow in with another query. She knew humans had partners, and that they would be around but why was this human on their own?
"What about you? Where's your partners? Most humans have those right? Or are you like those people Ma talks about being able to turn into us? Oh! Humans have jobs like Digimon do right? What do you do for a living Ms. Hiroyo?"

"Oh thank you!" Hiroyo said delightedly, visibily brightening up at the compliment. It was such a simple thing but she already liked this Digimon! Such a friendly face couldn't be bad, right? "I don't think I've even seen a Meicoomon or Meicrackmon before. Although wait, that makes you champion level right?"
Hiroyo was pretty sure that wasn't a rude question, and she wasn't suprised by the question about her own partners that followed. She had gotten into the swing of that being one of the first things she learned about folks. "I'm a, ah, partnered human yeah. The bugs wanted to stay longer at the work site so I came ahead, Rosewood seems safe enough to wander solo."
She took another sip of her drink before she finished answering Holly's questions and boy were there a lot of those! It was kind of nice to have someone take such a genuine interest in her life, normally she was the one asking questions.
"I'm a greeter and make-up artist for a host club in the human world!" She straightened up and slammed a thumb into her chest right between her clavicles. "I try to entice people to come visit and spend their money and time with the guys! I also do odd jobs in this world, some of them go, ah, better than others."
Her smile was a little forced for a moment as she remembered her group's most recent string of failures. It was hard to keep a good grin on with that, but she shook it off to return some of Holly's questions with her own. "How about you? Do you have a job or do you just wander?"

"You're welcome Ms. Hiroyo~"
The meicrackmon gave an earnest smile before taking a sip from her drink, she'd flick her ear when the human addressed the fact that they had never seen one of her kind before. She'd dip her head in a nod; perking up slightly after a moment.
"Mhm! Though most of my kind have Meicoomon as a champion and meicrackmon as an ultimate. Well. At lest that's what I've been told. But yes! I'm a champion level. Easier to do things with hands you know?"
Holly tilted her head, quietly looking over the human for a moment. So she did have partners! She wasn't like those humans that could turn into digimon, which was pretty cool but the meicrackmon always wanted to meet one. She had a bunch of questions for them anyways!
"Oh they work here too? What are they? Maybe I've seen them around. Oh! Yes! Rosewood is very safe. Especially with all the jobs that are getting picked up by mons."
Then there was a rather amusing pause before the digimon realized she was also missing a large fact that her mother was nearby too. Well the knights, but she figured that they would also mean that it was 'safer' but not like perfectly safe? It was hard to word things.
"A make up artist for a host club? A greeter? That sounds like a lot of fun! Do you think I'd like it there? In the human world really? I've never been there, what's it like? Odd jobs? Well. Uhm. Hmm. That's fair, jobs can go a variety of different ways... are there any that you like the most?"
Holly blinked as she noticed that the human seemed a touch... what was the word? Strained in a fashion? At least with that smile. Maybe it was something she wanted to avoid entirely but then the human turned around and asked if holly had a job.
"I used to work for a group for a short time, we did varied stuff but I found that It wasn't the healthiest choice for me so I stopped! Now I'm studying to be a doctor like my Da while also helping my ma out. Part of the reason I'm here actually, we're going to go shopping after she's done with her business here today. Something to do with supplies for the knights."
Holly shrugged a bit and sipped at her drink again, frowning as it made sounds as though it was empty now. Grimacing slightly she'd slide the drink away from her and turn her full attention to the human.
"Well rather. I'm working on getting to the point of where I'm studying, right now it's just entry stuff..."

Frankly the stuff about which form was typically champion and which form was ultimate went right over Hiroyo's head. She could keep the line of progression straight but she wasn't going to start trying to keep track of what went where for each Digimon! Still she appreciated that Holly was open to discuss it, if Hiroyo wanted. Having people around who weren't stingy with their information and didn't treat you as dumb for not knowing was great!
Suck it, Morgan!
So many questions though, the redhead suddenly had new insight into why cats were considered curious!
"Ah well we only got to town recently and this is actually our first job here! We were in Server Woods recently and then somewhere else and well, here we are! I honestly don't know how to explain the human world?" Hiroyo sweat dropped as she rubbed the back of her head before giving a shrug. "It's, kinda like Terminus but only humans, no 'mons at all! You'd probably want to go in a disguise if you went there, I actually haven't been back for a while."
She was relieved when the conversation went back to Holly. Hearing that the group wasn't the healthiest for Holly made her wince.
"Well! I'm glad you're safer now!" Was that really the right way to phrase it? Whatever, she would continue ahead fearlessly! After everything if she couldn't even talk to someone normally that'd be such a disgrace! "I didn't even know Digimon had doctors or like, doctor schools. I bet its just as hard as being a human doctor and I've heard that's really hard so uh, good luck! You seem smart so I think you can do it!"
She winced a little as she realized she had been getting progressively louder as she spoke and took a sip of her drink while letting Holly reply. The feline had only the chocolate shake to share Hiroyo's attention with for the moment.
"So your dad's a doctor and your mom is a knight? Like, knight in shining armour kinda knight? Doing good deeds throughout the lands, that kinda thing?" She gestured with her cup as if she were hoisting a sword upright and then went back to sipping it.

Holly wasn't sure how else she could really explain the whole level thing, she didn't really quite understand it herself really. To her each form was different and served different purposes even if they had a little bit of overlap. She'd drum her claws against the bar and lean forward, her head tilting slightly as Hiroyo spoke once more.
"Well I'm sure you'll do fine at it. Server woods? I've heard about that place, is it nice? That's okay!"
The digimon blinked as the human then continued, saying that it was like terminus but with humans! Then something about a disguise? The meicrackmon rubbed at her neck uncertain of how she was supposed to disguise herself if she went to the human world. Would she have to wear a cloak?
"How would I even disguise myself...?"
Holly seemed dubious for a moment but as they moved on in the conversation the human seemed to think that health meant safety. Honestly her work had been... 'safeish' if you thought about it. They planned out to make it so but that was hardly the point. She'd give a small smile and dip her head in a nod.
"Me too really. It's a lot more lax than what I'm used to but..."
The meicrackmon shrugged and then came the next topic, that the human didn't know that they had doctors or schooling for it! Heck it seemed like there was even human doctors! Well. She knew that part already since she had met one...
"Well we do, they sort of vary. They're rarer...ish? Kinda? A lot of mons have healing abilities or can regenerate like myself. But thank you! I'm still uhm... studying for stuff. Can't pass through the school just on my aptitude scores!"
Holly let out a small giggle as the human's words had drawn a smidge of attention from some of their neighbors but the meicrackmon's mere presence had subdued some of them from making a comment or even sparing them a glance. Her kind wasn't exactly known to be kind; nor so chatty! Was it just a play or something? Holly perked up however when hiroyo asked about her parents.
"Yup! He does work on cores n stuff, he's like a specialized data doctor. I hope to be kind of like him, but that's something I don't know if I can do! And... Well. Yeah she's like that. She's really protective of the digital world n all that."
Another long pause and the meicrackmon looked around for a moment. In a hushed tone she'd lean forward to speak again, being mindful that not everyone would want to talk or hear about it. Not that the conversation wasn't attracting attention from some of the more perceptive customers...
"She's really really strong too, I've only got to see her Jesmon form once but it's data signal made my fur stand up on end! But yes... she does do good deeds; her entire group is all about threat removal n stuff! Kinda like..."
Holly needed to figure out an example and she'd just bite her lower lip uncertain of how to really give a good one. Sighing she'd just shrug before continuing her drumming on the bar.
"I don't know how to really explain it Ms. Hiroyo. Properly at least... But if there's a problem and she was there I don't think she'd walk past it."

So many, many questions. They all seemed to be coming from a place of innocent curiosity and Hiroyo really didn't mind. She honestly couldn't offer much in the way of advice on Holly disguising herself although...
"Ah, if there was an anime convention going on you could probably just walk right in! I haven't watched any in a while but I'm sure someone will assume you're cosplaying someone then you can just, go with the flow!" She gestured with her cup as she spoke, a wide grin on her face. Anime conventions were crazy enough that it would work, then again the solution might be even simpler. "Or just say you're testing a new mascot outfit! Mascots are a big thing, you could probably even wear a mascot outfit yourself although it might be a bit stuffy!"
She slurped up more of her shake as she listened to Holly recount the difficulties currently in her way. It really did sound a lot like what the red head had heard medical school was like! 'Better her than me!' Hiroyo thought, nodding along as Holly recounted the generalization of what her parents did.
The whole medical thing just sounded like too much stress to Hiroyo.
"Jesmon?" Hiroyo asked with raised eyebrows. The name was unfamiliar, another new form she had never seen! She really needed to get out and meet more digimon! The description of what had happened to Holly's fur was amusing, Hiroyo giggled at the thought of the cat-humanoid poofed up like an angry, regular cat. "She sounds really strong!"
Holly might struggle for an example but Hiroyo gave her new furry friend an encouraging grin. "I think I know what you mean! Like, a while ago we were over in the plains area and there was a dark spire there and we helped a bunch of other folks take it down. I...still don't know where that came from, or if they all got dealt with."
She should probably look into that at some point. A quick post on Tamernet would probably get her some answers, and maybe some more information on anything else that might be happening. It'd be a good place to look for sightings of Layla too.

Holly didn't know what an anime convention was; she knew what general conventions were like job stuff or studying but that didn't sound about right with the way that Hiroyo was grinning about it. It sounded like fun! Then something about a Mascot outfit? There was doubt plastered on her face but she'd take the advice in stride, she would of written it down in a notepad or something if she had one but hopefully she would remember for later!
"I'm not sure what you mean. Anime convention? I'm aware of what regular conventions are... uhm... Mascots?"
Holly blinked a few more time, thankful that the conversation quickly moved on to what she was doing and what her parents were doing basically. But at the query of what Jesmon was holly gained quite a surprised look on her face. The young digimon rubbed at one of her ears and tried to figure out how best to explain what Jesmon looked like. But honestly any words she could use didn't seem to do a good job at least in her head.
"It's... well the form is one of the royal knights. She's not a Royal knight though. She's a Knight of the Rose! And yeah! She is! Only person that I know that can get to Super mega!"
Holly beamed a bit in pride, sure she and her mother might not of spent as much time together initially but now that her mother was less focused on the whole wisemon thing she had more time for her children. The meicrackmon tapped her hands on the counter; she could remember the power that went over her fur, and the sheer intensity of her mother's form.
"I heard about those! There's not much news surrounding them as of late; but I bet that's just a trick to lull people into a false sense of security!"
Holly frowned lightly at the thought of that but then just waved it off after a few moments. Figuring that she could easily move into another topic; such as what they liked to do or... Well actually she was curious!
"Earlier I had asked about your partners, what sort of mons are they? I have only met a few beast type mons so far! Well other than my parents. Kinda can't count my ma.. she's got so many of the darned things!"

The 'Knight of the Rose' moniker was interesting, Hiroyo leaned closer when she heard it. Someone who was a knight of flowers couldn't be a bad person, right? Especially with the way Holly described her.
"Wait, wait, super mega?" Hiroyo asked, her voice rising in both squeakiness and volume. She cleared her throat and tried again, her voice a little steadier. Behind her the Monmon on her other side was looking at them curiously. "As in, step above mega, right? Maaan, we've only gotten to Champ even that has difficulties, I can't imagine being that strong!"
She could certainly image what she would do if she, personally, was that strong. Honestly Roger as a super mega was a nightmare. She shuddered and took a long, calming slurp from her milkshake.
"Exactly, something like that doesn't just end without being mentioned! I should probably see if TamerNet has anything going on, I'm sure someone knows something.~" She considered pulling the digivice out and looking right now but that seemed like it would be rather rude at the moment.
Besides, Holly had more questions for her!
"Oh! The twins, uhm well there's Roger who is a Kunemon and he's a loud-mouthed jerk, he always wants to pick a fight with anyone, its awful!" She huffed at the mention of her boisterous partner. "His brother, Morgan, is a lot more level headed. Weee...kinda get along better than me and Roger do! He's good about trying to keep Roger in mind but maybe the biggest thing is that he's better at picking his fights?"
She sighed and shook her head, a small smile on her face. Things weren't always great with the twins, but she was maybe painting too negative of a picture. "We get along for the most part, things have been a little rough lately so that's adding stress but we'll just have to wait and see! How about you? Do you get along o kay with your parents?"

Holly tapped her fingers on the bar, calling over the vegasmon just to get herself a water for the moment. She wanted another smoothie that much was true but she also wasn't sure if she should ruin her appetite for later. Her ears flicked at hearing that volume raise and squeakiness. There was an odd moment where she realized that they were attracting a little attention. Holly furrowed her brows and nodded her head at the initial question.
"Mhm! she's really super duper powerful, I haven't seen her fight yet but... She took out the wisemon that was a part of the whole incident around here a bit ago... So I'd say she's powerful!"
Holly pursed her lips a bit and rubbed at her neck; unsure of how to exactly address the fact that within her first week of living she had attained champion. Then again the reason for it was... well reasonable!
"I remember getting champion. I was barely a week old. A lot of people get stuff at different times, but that's what makes it fun!"
Holly shook her head; sporting a rather cheerful grin. She couldn't really think of herself at super mega! After the first month of her quickly gaining ultimate and champion well.. she had stalled out she figured. Mega was something on it's own and she wasn't even really sure how long it'd be until something drove her to get that. She hoped it wasn't anything too terrible.
"Tamernet? I've heard about that place, but isn't it just for... like tamers n stuff?"
She seemed confused but when the human continued to answer her questions that confusion faded and was replaced with curiosity. A kunemon that wanted to pick a fight with anyone? Was also loud mouthed? Sounded a bit like some of the visitors to the library, though if they tried to fight they were quickly ejected... then morgan! Well. He was more level headed? Probably someone that she could get along with; well she could probably get along with both of them!
"They sound like they can be a handful when combined... but fun at the same time! You never know who or what is going to run into you from something like that!"
Holly gained a wide grin and the cat gingerly picked up the cup that the vegasmon placed down. She'd raise a brow, taking a sip before letting out a relieved sigh as she did indeed get her water and not something else! Ordering from this place had been odd... but fun!
"That's good, rough? What sort of rough? hopefully nothing bad..."
Then there was a question that holly wasn't sure how to initially answer. She seemed to process the question for a lot longer than other questions that the human had posed. She'd rub at her face, mull it over. Did she get along with them?
"There's nothing I can really think of that would say otherwise? My Da's really protective of me and my siblings. Uh... My Ma.. well. She's..."
How to really explain how her mother was pretty much as doting as she could be with the limited amount of time that she spent at home? She was out and about protecting them from threats large to small... One of the large threats being that wisemon a little bit ago...
"Well she's a busy mon but that doesn't mean she's not around? So I'd say that we get along just fine. Da helps me with my experiments and helped me train to defend myself, Ma makes sure I'm fed and properly taken care of uh... Along a few other things, she's been helping me lately with something she calls 'control' but I don't quite get it."
Holly scratched at her fur, her tail flicking to one side and curling around her much like a regular cat's would. She'd perk up however as she could feel something that was awfully like her mother approaching.
"So I suppose the answer in short is yes? What about you? Do you have parents? Wait. Do humans have a Village of beginnings too? I've heard someone joke about going to some place called K-mart for children before..."

'Champion at a week old.' Hiroyo's brain chanted that line a good two or three more times to really drive home the point because hot damn that was just, ridiculous. Utterly unbelievable
Just how bad was it that it took her and the twins a month and a half to reach champion when they had reached it previously?
She smiled sunnily at Holly's own cheerful grin and the remark that Hiroyo took to be meant as a cheer up comment. Hiroyo was tempted for a moment to ask just how old Holly currently was but then thought better of it.
Her pride could only take so much of a beating.
"Uhm, rough as in some jobs just, haven't been turning out the way we wanted them to! LIke, you try to complete A, B, and C but you only get B when A and C were both really important!" She said with a wave of her hand. She took a sip at her straw only to find that there wasn't anything left and put it back down. "They weren't complete failures but uh, still not as good as we wanted."
Hiroyo leaned forwared a bit when Holly talked about her parents, eye shining with delight. She had assumed, at first, that families like what Holly mentioned were the norm but Morgan and Roger had corrected her that many Digimon didn't have that kind of structure in their life. "Yeah that makes sense! 'Safety begins at home' or something like that? The control thing is kinda weird, do you mean like, controlling your moves maybe?"
There was a fatal flaw in Hiroyo's plan to get the cat to talk about her family and that was Holly reciprocating the question. Hiroyo jerked on her chair and almost fell off but covered it with a hand to her head and wince. It would be pretty rude for her to not say anything at all about her own situation, right? She should at least say a little!
"Oooh, I think I got brain freeze. Uhm, I have two moms, kinda! My mom that gave birth to me," she winced a bit at the messiness of her explanation. "took off when I was very little, taking my older brother with her and leaving me with my dad. I don't get along well with him a lot but he got remarried and my step mom is great! I've got two younger siblings now and its been a while since I've spoken to them but, well, they're pretty great kids."

Holly didn't really know how that would make others feel about her getting champion so quickly, or ultimate for that matter. Some people never got higher than champion, some never got higher than rookie! She knew only a handful that were capable of reaching mega and only her mother she knew could reach super mega. The meicrackmon smiled sweetly at the other, flicking her ears a bit and opening her eyes slightly as the other spoke.
So rough jobs that only had a few things in them completed? Holly found her face frowning lightly and she'd lean on her hand, propping up her head to sort of stare at the human curiously.
"An incomplete failure is often most a half success. If it's something you learned from isn't that a win in it's own right?"
The meicrackmon's eyes were slightly opened, staring at the other pleasantly for a few moments until the conversation landed into the parents. She'd blink a few odd times however when they went about safety at home. Their home was pretty safe, always moving... and well.
"Ma has this thing called Keys, she's really good with them and they helped her reach who she is today. Part of the reason she has disciples and students. And knights. And squires... and a butler now that I think about it. Mr. Garlond is scary."
Holly rubbed at her neck and noted the reaction of the human. So it was something that they were... uncomfortable about? Holly understood and almost was about to brush off the question so that the human didn't have to answer but their feigning of the brain freeze actually.. well. Worked.
"Ooo! Drink some water then! Two moms? Wait human's can- Ohhhhh okay!"
Holly beamed a little bit as the other spoke about their family and her face lit up like Christmas at hearing that the other had siblings too! She'd bounce in her seat a little bit, even spilling her water here or there.
"I've got two siblings too! One's a Blackgatomon, she's my Big sis Syre and I've got a Renamon who's my Big Bro Siris! They're both part of the knights my ma runs. Siris because uh... well. Uh. He's good at physical stuff and Syre thought it'd be a good idea to sort of grow in until she finds out more of what she wants to do?"
Holly rubbed at her neck and sipped at her water, cleaning up the bits she spilled with a napkin. She'd sigh sweetly at the next train of thought and she felt her body droop a little bit.
"They all sort of go out and try to save the world, I'm not like that. I'm.. well. I'd rather be a doctor, I'm no hero. Just a cat wanting to help people. Though my last job before this I thought I was helping people and just ended up hurting them instead..."
The last sentence was a half mumbled mess, she still didn't feel fully comfortable talking about that sort of stuff in public. Or to new people that she had just met. She'd perk up however at something and turn her head as she felt her mother's signal approaching.
"Looks like ma is coming to get me? Or is her business taking her this way... Hmm Hmm... Do you wanna meet my Ma? Ms. Hiroyo?"

Holly had a point, several points actually. Hiroyo held her hand up and ordered a glass of water when Vegasmon came by, giving the waitress her best grin.
As she waited for it to come she thought about what Holly had said, for her (probably) young age the cat seemed really wise. Maybe because her parents were so smart? Still the red head couldn't help but feel a little depressed at the thought of her little group's past failures, what could she learn from it besides the fact they were too weak? She already knew that!
Luckily the topic of families that weren't hers cheered her right up. She nodded along to Holly's recounting of her siblings. "They sound interesting! They must be pretty strong if they're part of the knights, right? That saving the world stuff could be dangerous business!"
"Water delivery, are you sure you don't want to take a spin on something more interesting?" Vegasmon asked with what was meant to be an enticing wink. Hiroyo sweat dropped a bit and quickly took a drink.
"Ah, no thanks! Maybe later!" She said quickly before turning to Holly and gesturing hurridly for the cat to continue with her talking. Hiroyo could sympathize with the desire to help people, it was part of the reason her crew had taken on the jobs they had after all. So the feeling of failure was a familiar one, although Hiroyo couldn't quite hear the last of what Holly said she had heard enough to act.
"Hey, doctors are heroes too! You might not actively fight bad guys and bring peace, but you keep people living and help them have a good quality of life! That's also important: just living in the world. So helping people do that is something to be proud of too!" She pumped a fist into the air, narrowly missing her own glass of water.
The red head slowly lowered her hand at the mention of Holly's mother. Her eyes widened and took on an anticipatory gleam, clearly she was excited to meet her. "What really? That's cool! How, uh, how can you tell though? Do you see her outside or something?" Hiroyo asked, craning her head to look over her shoulder toward the windows at the front.
