"Hello? Can you hear me?"
The notification would ping onto D-Terminals in both worlds, signaled not by the standard beep and green light of a received message but instead by a flash of gold. Any who opened it would see a Rasielmon standing in front of a gilded room, a projected map of the Digital World hovering behind her. Ominous symbols floated over the Digital Sea, the Northern Prominence, and Terminus City itself. For those without D-Terminals, the same display would appear on television broadcasts across the Digtial World's many cities, manifest itself onto billboards, and even appear in the reflections of particularly shiny ponds.
"I'm here to warn you that our world is under attack. The very incarnations of the Digital World's darkness, the Seven Demon Lords, have returned to our world. They may seem like any other Digimon of their kind, but do not be fooled. They are stronger, crueler, and more dangerous than any you've seen before. In their eyes, the world is theirs, with which they can do whatever they please. And they won't care who they hurt or exploit along the way.
I know this is a lot to take in. I know you have no reason to trust me. But please, for the sake of a world that all of us love and share, join me and stand against these conquerors!
They have already begun spreading their influence across the Digital World. If you want to join the fight, here are a few places where you can help out:" RULES FOR TAKING A DEMON LORD PLOT EVENTRasielmon has offered 9 staging grounds to fight the good fight from. Each of these will function like a site plot event thread, similar to the ones run by Sci and Spire in the past. There is room for 2 to 3 people in each event, although if there is very popular demand I will expand the list. While Rasielmon has many options to offer, she only has the resources to make some of these events happen. 4 to 5 events will be active at any given time, with event signups reopening as soon as an event draws to a close. For signups, please PM (on my staff account, not on Discord) me your top 3 choices of event and character. This way I can pick the 4 or 5 best events to start of running. Please note that newer members will be prioritized over ones who have already been on a plot event, to make sure everyone gets their chance in the spotlight. Finally, be sure to keep an eye out. These missions may not be quite as straightforward as they seem . . . I'm aiming to get started after a week of collecting votes, but if you guys need a bit more time to think feel free to let me know. Without any further ado, here are your nine options for this leg of the event! A) The Mysterious Vagabond "There's a mysterious figure on the outskirts of Luminas. The power coming off of him is immense, but with the Demon Lords' onslaught we haven't had the chance to investigate. Please, keep an eye out and make sure he isn't a threat."Level - Any and All! Objective - Investigate the stranger at Luminas. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward. B) Tense Negotiations "The strange behavior of the Demon Lords continues. Now they're sending an envoy, GranDracmon, on their behalf. He claims to come in peace, but the whole situation seems fishy to me. We must keep a close eye on him."Level - Mega and Super Mega Objective - Ensure nothing catastrophic happens in your negotiations with GranDracmon. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward. C) Initial B "You guys ever notice that weird burger truck that drives around Terminus City? We've been seeing it more and more lately, and I'm starting to wonder if it's related to the Demon Lord sightings around Terminus. I fear the it's intentions aren't too innocent."Level - Rookie and Champion Objective - Pursue the burger truck. And trust me, don't eat any of the meat. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward. D) Out of the Sewers "Leviamon may not be the most popular Demon Lord, but even she has her adherents. We fear that, if given the chance to hear her word, an island of filth-element Digimon may fall under her sway. We can't let her rally such an army, even a weak one."Level - Rookie and Champion Objective - Talk King Raremon out of accepting the rule of Leviamon. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward E) Ain't No Mountain Strong Enough "The good news is that we know exactly where Belphemon is. The bad news is, as of now, we have no way of reaching him. We need you to investigate Terabyte Mountain and find any weak spots in its surface that we can make an entrance through."Level - Rookie and Champion Objective - Survey Terabyte Mountain and find a suitable entrance for infiltrating its core. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward. F) Those Aren't Skeletons In His Closet . . . "There's been a lot of activity around a certain building in the richer districts of Terminus City. There always seems to be some sort of party going on there, but the guests who come in don't always come back out. We fear this may be where our third Demon Lord is dwelling. Investigate, and see if you can confirm our suspicions"Level - Ultimate and Mega Objective - Find the dark secret of Terminus High-Rise #666. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward. G) The Tempest "Something is whipping the Digital Sea into a frenzy. Docks are being smashed, boats are being destroyed, and hazardous waste is being spilled onto our shores. Is Leviamon so envious she seeks to hoard the seas all to herself?. Perhaps if we put an end to this chaos, we'll be able to find where she's hiding."Level - Ultimate and Mega Objective - Put an end to the relentless storming in the Digital Sea. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward. H) Life is But a Dream "We've been getting reports that Digimon all over the Northern Prominence are losing their ability to sleep. They toss and turn listlessly at night, all citing the same terrifyingly lifelike nightmares. These nightmares must have a common cause, but unfortunately there's only one way to find out what."Level - Ultimate and Mega Objective - Survive the nightmare plague that has overtaken the Northern Prominence. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward. I) The Icon of Sin "Seraphimon believes something in the Dark Area is rallying these Demon Lords to stand together. He's charged off by himself to investigate, and I already fear the worst. It's far too dangerous to go, but . . . if you truly agree with his hunch, I don't think I can stop you, can I?"Level - Super Mega Objective - Find Seraphimon and investigate the Icon of Sin. Reward - 50,000 bits, plus either 15,000 bits or your choice of a special reward.

Surely enough, within a week of her initial message, Rasielmon had responded to all of those who had paid her interest. This time, there were a few others with her: an Ophanimon and a Cherubimon were in the distance, hovering over a large map of the Digital World, while a Bagramon stood by her side. "Thank you all so much for your responses," she said, trying not to hide the relief in her voice. "I know it's a lot to ask, having you fight for a battle you never signed up for-"
"-Yet all the same, we're glad to see you choosing to fight for your world." Now it seemed to be Bagramon's turn to speak, Rasielmon's more apologetic nature seemingly spurring him onward. "While we search for the Demon Lords up here, it's all the more important that their forces are beaten back."
"All the while, we'll be your guides," Rasielmon explained. "Think of us like your eyes and ears. And if you truly need, we can lend you our power as well."
"And look, I'll be real with you all," Bagramon said, leaning somewhat conspiratorially towards the "camera." How were these angels recording their message, come to think of it? "I don't buy most of this angel stuff for a minute. But with our world under attack, we need to band together. I don't care if you're the most rotten scoundrel around. If you've got two hands and want to fight the good fight, then you're as good as anyone up on this lookout in my books."
Rasielmon seemed to be turning a blind eye to that, even as she shot a nervous look over her shoulder to make sure Ophanimon didn't hear. "Now that I know I can count on your help, we'll be opening a portal over by your way. So, please do not be alarmed if a giant keyhole springs into existence next to you. It's all part of the plan," Rasielmon explained. "Just step through those, and you'll be right where you need to be.
Best of luck! And remember, the Watchers On High will be right here to support you."
"We are not calling ourselves that."
"Do you think this was my choice?"
And with that, the transmission was cut.

"I can't thank you enough for your help so far. I know we called for aid on such short notice, but already your quickness to get into the fight has left me impressed. And thanks to you, we've already had a lot of luck in studying our opponents. We've uncovered Daemon as the ringleader behind all of this, begun making inroads into the territories of both Sloth and Gluttony, and-"
"-uncovered an oh-so-nefarious plot to discredit little old me. How tragic~." The GranDracmon that leaned into this transmission certainly wasn't there last time! It was odd seeing such a dark Digimon sitting within Rasielmon's hallowed hall, but if the highest of the high were willing to put their own thoughts aside to come to terms with him, clearly the situation called for it.
"-made some unexpected new allies. I can't say that everything's been going according to plan. Our very sanctum was invaded by false envoys of the Demon Lords, and not all of us archangels have made it out of this struggle unscathed." Briefly, Rasielmon lowered her head in respects for the fallen Seraphimon. "However, that doesn't make these inroads any less a cause for celebration. I know it isn't much, but please, accept these rewards."
DEMON LORDS ROUND 1 REWARDS ARE BELOW
Icon of Sin - 50,000 Bits PLUS Essence of Cataclysm - While only the first strike in our struggle against the Demon Lords, the fight that raged on in the Dark Area saw blows of legendary proportions thrown around. Even as the dust settles, the sheer power and data output in the struggle has crystallized into a blood red essence. Once per thread, crushing this crystal in your hand empowers your next attack, drastically improving its power and converting it into an area of effect ability. The AoE can be very unwieldy: be careful using it near allies! Rarity: Legendary OR Onyx Digizoid - A fragment of Daemon's fortress, the Icon of Sin. The technique behind creating this ancient form of Chrome Digizoid has been lost to the ages, but in the fierce struggle a few precious shards have been knocked off. If an entire fortress of the stuff can withstand long-term immersion in the Sea of Blood, even these shards may prove useful. Rarity: Strong There are three forms the Onyx Digizoid may take. Once you make your choice, you cannot change it. Onyx Edge - Your Digimon may now hone a part of themselves with Onyx Digizoid, usually a claw or blade. Choose an attack on one of your forms: it now ignores defensive buffs of any kind. Shielding moves can still repel the attack entirely; this simply allows the user to circumvent passive defenses and buffs. Onyx Plate - Your Digimon may now plate a part of themselves with a thin layer Onyx Digizoid, reinforcing it with unbreakable metal. Please keep this to a simple area of your Digimon: the hands, the head, a soft underbelly. This is not a full set of armor. The first attack that hits this region deals absolutely no damage, although afterwards the plating is rendered useless for the thread. Onyx Rod - Just a small chunk of Onyx Digizoid, small enough to fit in a human's hand. Much less glamorous than its cousins, but who knows when a sizable chunk of nigh-unbreakable metal will come in handy? OR Soothing Cloth - A shred of Daemon's robes, torn from his scuffle. While one would expect them to be dyed a crimson red from the slaughter, they actually seem to be dyed from regular pigments. Stranger still, there's a softness to them one would not expect from Daemon. Wearing this cloth provides an unnatural soothing feeling, dulling the user's mind to any emotion-based techniques. It is even strong enough to slow, although not stop, the mental techniques of the Demon Lords. Does Daemon wear this as a limiter to his wrathful power? Rarity: Strong OR 15,000 Bits ~~~~ Tense Negotiations - 20,000 Bits PLUS An extra 15,000 Bits, for the mission ending up more dangerous than expected! PLUS Brotherhood's Cup - A goblet of wine, hilariously oversized for a human but just right for a Digimon as huge as GranDracmon. He is offering this as a celebration of the new bond he has formed with you all tonight. Its as dark as a garnet, crisp enough to see one's reflection in, and has an ominous air to it: be careful! If one chooses this artifact, they establish a close mental link to GranDracmon. They can ask him for advice whenever they please (please @ me in Discord so I can get notified and respond in a timely fashion!), although his answers may be somewhat . . . interesting. Rarity: Weak OR Last Prophecy - A scroll that was unearthed from the ashes after Mephistomon X's disappearance. The paper is so ancient it looks as if it could crumble at any second, and the dialect of Digimoji it is written in seems unintelligible. Just glancing at the page leaves shivers crawling down your spine. Energy based attacks grow stronger while carrying this page, so long as they are focused on weakened targets. Attacks gain a slight boost against opponents with half their health remaining, a minor boost against opponents with a quarter of their health remaining, and a moderate boost against opponents on their last legs. This additional damage is dealt as dark element, rather than the attack's normal element. Rarity: Strong OR Illusionist's Rod - The handle of Phelesmon's pitchfork. The fact that it did not degenerate when Mephistomon loaded his body either bodes really well or really, really poorly for Phelesmon's fate. Nevertheless, some of his power still lingers within this rod. Your Digimon can now create simple illusions. While a versatile ability, they can only replicate one sensory phenomenon at a time (usually either a sight or sound, but get creative with other senses if you wish!), and close examination reveals it to be fake. Rarity: Weak OR 10,000 Bits ~~~~ Ain't No Mountain Strong Enough - 20,000 Bits PLUS Winter's Gasp - Paledramon's horn, which he used to manipulate the winter winds in the Northern Prominence. With it very likely he will be abdicating from his watch soon, Paledramon is willing to reluctantly part with this in hopes of it proving useful to your quest. Don't prove his trust misguided! Winter's Gasp can be played once per thread, used by the tamer as if they were using a card. It can be blown in one of three ways. Tailwind - The winds spur your Digimon on forward, increasing their speed by 25% and increasing the speed of their allies by 15% for three posts. Headwind - The winds push against your opponents, reducing the speed of all enemy Digimon by 15% for three posts. Whirlwind - The winds swirl around, lashing at a target enemy Digimon and any enemy Digimon within arm's reach of them for three posts. Rarity: Legendary OR Lingering Dream - A crystal of ice found within an abandoned cabin in the Northern Prominence. There's a strange familiarity to it, and despite being solid ice it is strangely warm to the touch. If held to one's ear, soothing whispers emanate from it. If your Digimon does not Digivolve, use a named technique, or make basic attacks during a post, they heal a small portion of their health. If they also do not move or block, they heal a larger portion of their health. Rarity: Strong OR Prominence Blend - A special herbal tea, made from blends of greens that are sturdy enough to grow at the highest mountain peaks. They are bitter and nasty tasting, but they are also incredibly invigorating. With the severity of the Belphemon situation now known, barrels are being shipped all throughout the Tundra. Once per thread, your Digimon can drink this tea to invigorate themselves to an almost supernatural degree. They recover one point of cooldown from all their moves, and also recover from any speed-reduction moves or drowsiness-inducing techniques. Rarity: Strong OR 10,000 Bits
~~~~
Initial B - 20,000 Bits PLUS Bag of Beelzeburgers - This bag of Beelzeburgers sure looks appetizing! You could even say they're sinfully delicious. Unfortunately, you're also very clear on what side effects they harbor. You'd better handle these with caution . . . Once per post, you can take and eat a Beelzeburger (or offer it to someone else). You may only do this three times per thread. A Beelzeburger will increase all stats by 50% during the post of their consumption. However, the resulting withdrawals will reduce all stats by 20% afterwards. This lasts until another Beelzeburger is eaten, or until the end of the thread: it cannot be overcome by any other means. Rarity: Strong OR Short Fuse - A candle taken from the Shortmon boss. He smokes these for stress relief, but the secondhand fumes they provide are much more pleasing to the nose than the usual set. Just try not to get too distracted by such a sweet treat. Shortmon's candle can be lit to produce pleasing, cake-like aromas. While not much use in a direct fight, it can make for a potent distraction, a mood-setter for negotiations, or emergency perfume in a pinch. Rarity: Weak OR Angelic Transport - In lieu of bits or an artifact, you can keep the vehicle you made at the start of the thread. It functions exactly like an equivalent vehicle created in the store, but with a distinct angelic, gilded aesthetic to it. Rarity: N/A OR 10,000 Bits
"Now, that doesn't mean you can all stop and start patting each other on the back just yet," Bagramon interjected, voice solid and stern. "Sloth's still asleep, so now's our moment to go on the offensive and take it down. Trust me, an awake Belphemon is a Belphemon you do not want to mess with. And with it and Gluttony occupying everyone's time, Envy's been stretching her sphere of influence across the Digital Sea. She might seem like the weak link of the group, but left unchecked she could get the whole damn ocean rising up against us. And that's not even getting into the fact that we bloodied Daemon's nose. He'll never let up after that kind of insult.
Today, rest up, heal up, and enjoy your rewards. But tomorrow, it'll be time to strike again."
Zachary/Panthermon claiming "Lingering Dream" from Aint No Mountain Group.
Lingering Dream - A crystal of ice found within an abandoned cabin in the Northern Prominence. There's a strange familiarity to it, and despite being solid ice it is strangely warm to the touch. If held to one's ear, soothing whispers emanate from it.
If your Digimon does not Digivolve, use a named technique, or make basic attacks during a post, they heal a small portion of their health. If they also do not move or block, they heal a larger portion of their health.
RULES FOR TAKING A DEMON LORD PLOT EVENT
A combination of old battlefields unresolved and new opportunities to strike against the Demon Lords appear in this set of threads, for a total of 7 options. This includes a chance to fight against Sloth itself, the slumbering Belphemon. That's right, your great performance in the Northern Prominence has already unlocked our first Demon Lord encounter! As last time, there is room for 2 to 3 people in each event, although if there is very popular demand I will expand the list.
I'm continuing to keep a maximum of 5 events active at any given time. This means I will starting 4 new events now, and opening up another one when the last event of Round 1 expires.
For signups, please PM (on my staff account, not on Discord) me your top 3 choices of event and character. This way I can pick the 4 or 5 best events to start of running. Please note that newer members will be prioritized over ones who have already been on a plot event, to make sure everyone gets their chance in the spotlight. In addition, anyone who registered last time but failed to make the cut gets top priority. However, there is one exception I'll make to this:
If you've participated in a Demon Lord's event, you will get priority for that Demon Lord's battle thread. For example, members in Those Aren't Skeletons In His Closet and Initial B would have priority when registering for Beelzemon's battle. This is to make sure members invested in those plotlines aren't robbed of a chance just for signing on early.
Finally, be sure to keep an eye out. Many who have taken these missions have been tempted by Demon Lords trying to sabotage their kin, and such offers may end up making their way over to you.
I'll collect votes until Monday 9/9, at which point I'll try and get these next legs started.
Without any further ado, here are your nine options for this leg of the event!
A) The Mysterious Vagabond "There's a mysterious figure on the outskirts of Luminas. The power coming off of him is immense, but with the Demon Lords' onslaught we haven't had the chance to investigate. And they're heading right for our sanctum . . . Bagramon suspects it may be Lucemon, and if he's right we may have a serious confrontation on our hands." Level - Any and All! Objective - Investigate the stranger at Luminas. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward.
B) Pillar of Eternity "Oh, typical angels. So concerned with matters beneath them they never think to check their own territory! And yet, even now, I can feel a delicious, chewy center of demonic energy hidden beneath the light of the Avalon Fields. I believe it's coming from a tower on the isles' outskirts. Check on it for me, will you?" Level - Ultimate to Mega Objective - Explore the Pillar of Etenrity. Reward - 35,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward.
C) Out of the Sewers "Barges of junk are being pulled together on a far-off island of filth elemental Digimon. Their banners are raised for war: I fear Leviamon may have already reached them. And yet . . . maybe we still have a chance to hear them out?"
"Or end this before it even begins."
Level - Rookie and Champion Objective - Talk King Raremon out of accepting the rule of Leviamon. Reward - 20,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward
D) The Tempest "With each day, the seas are getting whipped deeper into their frenzy. Digimon last seen sailing to the southern poles of the Digital World have disappeared without a trace. Sheets of ice have been spotted further north than we've ever seen before. If Leviamon isn't addressed soon, the Digital Sea's days may be numbered." Level - Ultimate and Mega Objective - Put an end to the relentless storming in the Digital Sea. Reward - 35,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward.
E) Life is But a Dream "We've seen what Belphemon's capable of firsthand now, and I'll be damned if we let it spread to the rest of the Digital World. But if we're going to stop him, we can't just tackle him head-on. The nightmare plague in the Northern Prominence is clearly his work, and we'll need to account for it before we make a proper strike." Level - Ultimate and Mega Objective - Survive the nightmare plague that has overtaken the Northern Prominence. Reward - 35,000 bits, plus either 10,000 bits or your choice of a special reward.
F) Taking Up The Black "Oh, Daemon, Daemon, Daemon, you short-sighted fool. He'll be so busy looking for our best and brightest that I bet he'd never suspect Digimon below his caliber to spell his undoing. I can work my magic, leave your data shadowy and sinful looking enough to blend right in, and then we can infiltrate his fortress without a care in the world! Who knows? Perhaps we can wreak some havoc along the way~?" Level - Rookie and Champion . . . Rookie and Champion!? Objective - Infiltrate and scout out Daemon's fortress. Reward - 50,000 bits, plus either 15,000 bits or your choice of a special reward.
G) The Icon of Sloth "Our Northern Prominence crew did a hell of a job in tracing Belphemon's location. I don't even think he knows we're here yet. And you know what they say; strike first, strike best. This may be our one and only chance to get one over the big lug before he can tell what's going on. He's deep in the heart of the mountain: all we need to do is infiltrate it, and we'll have our chance to put him down for good."
THIS MISSION"S DIFFICULTY WILL INCREASE UNLESS "LIFE IS BUT A DREAM" IS TAKEN SIMULTANEOUSLY. TAKE CAUTION!
Level - Super Mega only Objective - Defeat Belphemon Reward - 70,000 bits, plus either 30,000 bits or your choice of a special reward.
