Just a regular day in Rosewood (Toki, invite)

He looked at Bors, who once again seemed completely at peace over size compared to other Rookies, so he wouldn't push that subject any further, at least not on a personal level. "Still, a good project could be to help construct larger seating and beds for Digimon who are larger than average. I think that could be interesting to undertake as well as useful."
Toki looked a bit taken aback when Bors said that his spirit seemed like a paternal figure to Toki "You really think so, huh? I think you're the first person to outright say that to me...but yeah. Before meeting my spirit, my relationship with my own father was...strained, though that was mostly my own fault. I guess over time I started to view my spirit as kind of a father figure. Though eventually my dad and I reconciled and we're on great terms...but you hit the nail on the head with that one." he said with a small smile.
He grinned slightly at his worried over the Blossom Isles and their views on human "Well that'll be quite the adventure, won't it? Can't establish good will without taking that first, risky step." he said. "In all seriousness though, I'm not really sure how they've disconnected themselves from the rest of the world the way they did. Something about a data barrier around the entire island chain...I'm not entirely sure though."
Then Bors asked a pretty big question "Ah, I'm no major figure here, no. I helped with parts of the construction and guided some Digimon Rookie level Digimon here. The project thing is mostly just me rambling, but if someone listens to me, then I'd be glad to tell them about it. If they decide not to go through with it, then that's that. As for the forest attack...well there was a bit of a disaster a while back. There were some Digimon trying to find and corrupt or destroy the Sovereign statue here. They burned parts of the forest, assaulted those living in the forest...I helped guide some survivors out of the forest as part of a rescue effort. Got in a nasty fight with a MetalPhantomon. Then, not long after that I helped a group fight off a Megidramon. By the end of it, the Sovereign appeared. Whether it's because I pleaded or because it was its own volition...I have no idea. It was a hectic time."

Bors gave a nod as Toki suggested that they should consider building larger seats and tables for digimon that had an above average size. "It wouldn't just be good for somewhat larger digimon either, it would make sense to include such things for any digimon that are at the stage of champion or higher. Rosewood may be a town for rookies, but I don't think it has to always be that way."
Bors then noticed that Toki seemed to be somewhat surprised at his comment at how his spirit seemed like a paternal figure to him, perhaps he had been wrong in his assumption. Before he could apologize however before he could apologize Toki began to explain that, yes, his spirit was sort of a father figure for him when his relationship with his true father was strained, though it sounds like their relationship had been mended. "Well, it is good to hear that you and your father are on good terms now, still, guess that means you have two fathers then. If I may ask, does he know about the whole digimon thing?"
Toki then explained that he wasn't entirely sure how the Blossom Isles had disconnected themselves from the Digital World, though it may have had something to do with a digital barrier. He then followed up by explaining that he wasn't a major figure and how his suggestions were just his ramblings.
However, Toki's explanation of the attacks caught his attention. From digimon trying to burn the forest, rescue efforts, fighting a metalphantomon and megidramon, to meeting a sovereign, Bors had clearly missed quite the event. "Well, thats....I'm not sure what to say really. I had no idea that something like that had happened here. Not only was there what practically sounded like a war that you were involved in, but you even got to meet a Sovereign. Which Sovereign was it? I know we are in the Eastern portion of the Digital World, so was it Azulongmon?"

"You're absolutely right. This place was made as a haven for young Rookies leaving the Village of Beginnings, but it's become more than that. It's become a culture in the Digital World that's really important. Just as important as the other settlements and cities. Though I think it should remain a relatively small scale place as far as population goes. Everyone knows everyone here. It's comfortable, supportive..."
He chuckled slightly at the two fathers bit, but he then nodded "My father's actually been in the know for...well, years in the Human World. Apparently back when he was my age, if not younger. He and his partner Ignatius are really strong. They're both a bit surprised and...well, scared...that I'm a spirit user. Understandably so, since I have to throw myself right into danger to really do anything. But they all support me, and I appreciate that."
Bors looked quite surprised that he missed out on the news regarding the recent attacks, though given his arrival it made sense "It was a complete disaster, but we were luckily able to save as many people as we could and put a stop to their plans. Actually, the Sovereign was Ebonwumon. They saved the forest after Megidramon tried to completely corrupt the landscape during its final moments."
Remembering the incident was difficult for him considering his near death experience and the fact that people lost their lives in the event "I'm just glad it's all over for now and we can have days like this again. I guess that's another reason I was so happy to meet someone new today. We need to have days like this. Relaxed, comfortable with good food. It makes the battles and the hardships worth something by the end of it."

Toki seemed to agree with Bors on the idea that Rosewood wouldn't remain a town for rookies forever, before going on to explain that Rosewood was much more then just some settlement for new rookies to settle in, no, apparently it was an important culture that was just as important as the rest of the cultures in the Digital World. Oddly though, Toki hoped that the town would remain relatively small, which Bors had his doubts about. "Well, I had found Rosewood to be relatively pleasant to live in, but I had known it was such a significant place in the Digital World now. As for the town remaining small, I am skeptical as to how likely that will be. After all, I imagine that a place of such significance will remain small when it is relatively easy to get to and stay at. Besides Rosewood may not be as small as one might believe, after all, I definitely don't know everyone that lives here."
Bors's eyes widened slightly when hearing that Toki's father was actually a tamer himself. It also sounded like they weren't too thrilled about Toki being a spirit user either, luckily they seemed to be supporting him still, so that was good. "Huh, well, I suppose that was quite a conversation when you found out he had a digimon then?"
Toki then went on to explain how the battle had been a disaster, but luckily they had been able to save a majority of the people and stop the attackers. While he found it odd that Ebonwumon had been the sovereign to stop the Megidramon, he wasn't about to question it. Still it sounded like Toki was happy with the outcome, and Bors supposed he couldn't blame him. Giving a nod and a smile, Bors spoke once more "Yes, I suppose they can turn out to be worth something, can't they?"

"You might be right." Toki said in response to Bors' doubt that Rosewood will remain small forever "And yes, I guess it's a bit of hyperbole that everyone knows everyone here, but it was more the meaning of the message, if that makes sense. As long as this place stays being an inclusive, comfortable space for Digimon to live in peace, then I'll be happy with it."
"Yeah, I'll admit I was pretty mad at him at first for never saying anything about it, but after some reflection I understand why he did what he did. You know...I wonder if that's why he wanted me to go to Shibuya for college...maybe he knew I'd stumble upon the Digital World one day." he pondered. He shrugged a bit "If that's the case, then I'll have to thank him for the experience this has allowed me to have."
He nodded with a smile as he rested his arms on the table "The good days make the difficult times worth it. Can't let ourselves become jaded. We have to keep looking forward and finding out how we can make the world better for the future, so others can enjoy more peace."
"Ah, but I don't want to sound like I'm being overly preachy or anything. Do what you enjoy, live life, and figure things out as you go along. Things will work themselves out." he said. Toki tried his best not to sully the good atmosphere by constantly talking about serious things. "I'll have to start thinking about what my next goals will be after I get my last spirit. Maybe some of my friends will know what to do, but I'm excited to see what's next for me."

Ah, so Toki hadn't actually meant that everyone in the town actually knew each other, rather that he simply hoped that the town remained inclusive and a peaceful place for digimon to live. Giving a nod, Bors spoke once more. "While I agree with you, I do hope that the town shows at least some caution when there are new arrivals. After all, not all digimon coming to the town can have a clean past, while others might have darker intentions similar to that Megidramon. I'm not saying they should be posting spies to watch them or anything, but to just show a bit of caution for the more...suspicious arrivals."
So Toki's father had wanted him to come to Shibuya for college? While Bors didn't really know where this was, he assumed it was the place Toki encountered digimon. "Well, I imagine that if your father encountered digimon and has a partner, it was inevitable that you would encounter us as well. Who knows, perhaps when you have a child they will be destined to encounter us as well."
Make the world better so others can enjoy a peaceful future huh? Well, Bors may not be able to help the world, but perhaps here... "Tell me Toki, is there any sort of militia here in Rosewood that protects the town in case of an attack? While I do enjoy my work at the inn, if there is a militia here my...abilities may be of more use there."
While Bors had heard Toki wondering about what his next goal will be, he chose not to comment on it. Feeling that it was not his place to say on where Toki should go after his current quest is complete.

Toki's warm expression didn't fade at all "While that may be true, some wish to make amends and wash their hands of a dirty past. We've all done things we're not proud of...some just want to try and change themselves for the better, and that's an admirable goal. But yes...there are those we have to watch out for. There are likely those who still mean us harm out there and we have to prepare for that inevitability...but peace won't come if we treat everyone with suspicion. We extend the hand for those who need it, and close it against those who dare threaten the good and the innocent." he said, the most serious tone he's used thus far.
Soon though, he was bright and happy again "Ah, maybe it is a hereditary thing...but I like to believe that deep down, all humans have the capability to be chosen by the Digital World. The Digital World works in mysterious ways, after all. And...maybe my children will be chosen too...though I'm not sure if I'll ever have any. I'll need to find that special someone first..." he said with a nervous laugh.
He tilted his head slightly "I'm pretty sure there's a militia here. I guided some Rookies who wanted to grow to be part of the town guard, so I'd start there if you want to do some patrols or watch duty." he suggested. "If that's what you want to do, then know you have my full support. It's a brave thing to do. Just know that if you ever struggle that you can rely on the support of your fellow militia. They're there for you."
