The Guardian Shadow Emerges...

Zachary was still new to life in Tokyo. Everything was different, especially now he was technically a border while is family was away. His goal was to settle down at one school for high school so he could complete his education while his family still had to work. He had his own apartment with a family friend to check up on him and in the living distance. He even had an allowance to handle likely expenses. Odd enough how his parents' life as history and art appraisers could be so lucrative.
But the ultimate price of this was loneliness as Zachary now had to endure the world of school and Shibuya mostly alone. He would say he would have been abandoned, but he knew how important his parent's work was. However, like anywhere else, bullies were an issue. It was almost a universal concept to him that no matter where you went, there were always idiots who wanted to take advantage of you to make up for their own insecurities. So far he had endured it by putting on his music, escaping to the library, writing and drawing.
However... little did he know how much his 'empty' life would change.
Rain drizzled down as school was let out and he began to make his way home. The sky was a gray overcast haze that made everyone feel sleepy or moody. Having changed out of his school uniform to his blue jacket, he pulled up his hood and swung his backpack over his shoulder. Despite a week at school, he still had some habits he kept to. He didn't use the same student bag as others and liked to dress to what made him comfortable. That of course, made him the odd nail sticking out and which always seemed to make others want to hammer down.
As he left the school through the courtyard, he soon stopped, his hood and black hair hiding his expression as he saw them. Three students from his class who often gave him a hard time being American and lacking Japanese language. He didn't get what they always said, but at times he caught a few words which he knew for 'idiot' or 'loser'.
Considering he had kept a constant A/B average, that hardly was true.
Holding his backpack tight, he attempted to move past them... unintentionally but forcefully elbowing his way past the group.
Fatal mistake... as they soon grabbed his backpack from his shoulder and took it away.
The cold, silent facade of self-defense broke from Zachary as he turned and saw the big kid with the blonde hair hold the bag, quickly digging through it for something. "H-hey! Give it back right now!" he demanded. He reached to take it back but he soon passed it to one of the other kids, who soon took out his notebook and passed the bag to the other. It was a cruel game of 'keep-away' which was the most stupid of bully jokes that he was getting fed up with as the whole point was to rob you of your small but precious important pieces of personal items. What really got him riled up, was his notebook.
Luckily the rain was keeping his tears from showing as he reached for his things. Where the hell were the teachers when you needed them?

That day, Ryouta still recovering from a little birthday bash. He just turned 18 years old, which means that he's eligible for his own motorcycle... While some motorcycle from real world is nice, he'd rather buy it from Digital World. His partner Valt agreed. It's probably better to have one that can be transported back and forth in case of solo mission. His parents are understandably a bit disappointed because they had planned to buy him one... But then again, they understood and asked him what he want instead. To that Ryouta has not replied.
"...There's not that much that I want now that I think of it..." he spoke to no one in particular. However, a voice immediately quipped from his bag.
"Well that just means that you're thankful for what you have I guess!"
"That's true isn't it~ Honestly I just want to have two separate party... one for family and another for friend... I guess a fine dining with all the family would be great..."
"Heh, sounds like a plan, Aniki!"
"Oh, maybe I can cook at it... I have been itching to try cooking something special for the family... Maybe I can just ask them to buy me the ingredients and I can whip up something... Lessee, discount discount..."
Ryouta took out his D-Nexus and scrolled through several promotion, then was prepared to send some messages to his brother and sisters when he heard... someone spoke in English? Or was it japanese? It's a bit too far for him to hear it clearly. It's raining, so Ryouta was considering if the guy forgot his umbrella or something... Well, not a problem for him really. He pulled his hood to his head and walked to check what's wrong...
...Boy, ho boy it's been a while but daaaaaamn.
"Valt, can you get out a bit? I want you to... record these bullies."
"Clostdramon?"
"Clostdramon, yeah, do it."
"Aye aye, sir!"
A Vmon emerged from the bag, then somehow turned into a bigger, demon dragon, only to vanish a split second later. Ryouta has picked a spot with little chance for people to see it, so chance of Valt being discovered is small. The Dragon Digimon immediately carried his partner's Digivice and began recording. Meanwhile, Ryouta slowly approached the scene.
It took Ryouta all his mental fortitude to not immediately see red and just beat the shit out of these bullies. Instead, he walked to them... and immediately yanks the bag from them, then grabs the notebook. Ryouta's impressive six foot and some inches figure slowly lowered itself on those younger bullies.
Meanwhile, Valt already going through walls and began recording the entire bullying scene. At least this will be back up in case those shit attempted to raise hell because some senpai beat them black and blue.
"...Oi, little shits," his usually calm and nice face somehow twisted into yakuza-like visage. His arms slung on their shoulder, trying to prevent them from escaping. "He told you guys to cut the crap out. I'm speaking in Japanese now... so unless you're some chimpanzee with human skin, surely you understand what I mean, hmn? You wrinkled scrote with no balls better apologize right now and leave him the fuck alone before I send you guys to the hospital, get it? I don't care how influential your parents are... All I know is that if you continue this shit..."
He grabbed a branch that 'conveniently' laying there. Its size? About the size of the bully's arm. Ryouta tightened his grip into the branch, shattering it.
"...You got that? Now scram."

Zachary was stumped when things god oddly more complicated. Lightning and thunder cracked in the distance when the large dude appeared, immediately surprising Zachary. They were both speaking Japanese now, which left Zachary out of the loop. Despite the presence of the big thug-like guy, one of the bullies pushed Zachary, causing him to fall backward and land butt down in a large puddle. More so so they could focus on the brute in front of them.
However, despite the brutish show of force, the biggest one of the gang decided to do something... stupid and jumped like a basketball player. He probably was one and snapped the notebook out of the guy's hand. The book went flying and landed into a nearby puddle-- ruining the note book.
Zachary gasped, his heart fallen to see his notebook now soaked. The book that contained his drawings and writing. His teeth gritted and his face tightened behind his hood, furious but reluctant to act. It wasn't that he couldn't fight back... but knew he shouldn't. While this person was clearly acting to defend him, he knew such actions also wounded you up in trouble to. Something Zachary knew the hard way...
The other kid in Japanese spat back at him. "The **** with you. Mind your own damn business and get the *** lost." he spat at the guy.
No doubt that would be a fatal mistake. Two of the tree bullies were not gonna back down, but Ryouta seemed to be the type of guy that liked it when these guys 'played tough'.

...That's it. He already got the image of Ryouta being pushed... and these guys not knowing his old reputation as the bully hospital-sender in the past. Valt only can wince. Heavens... may they have mercy toward these bullies because he's sure that his human won't have any mercy. Even Buddha have thrice the mercy... and that's where they're wrong.
It only took the book being splatted into the puddle for Ryouta to finally see red. There's not even the need for them to shove him. His knee found its way to the big bully's stomach. No matter just how fast the other bully retaliated, he moves faster, like a gale. He forgot just how much Digital World built his body to be ready for any sort of fight or flight situation, and it certainly made itself well known.
No matter how hard those bullies punched him, his punches are even stronger. Stomach, face sides, none of those matter... Even if it hits it's only some glancing blow. The worse was just a hit to his face that cuts his lips. But the bullies would be worse for wear. His blows are aimed not only to incapacitate them, but also to inflict as much pain as needed. He know better control now, but does it matter? He just want them to see that if they continue this path...
They'll answer to him.
About fifteen minutes later, Ryouta spat bloodied saliva from his mouth. The bullies laying on the ground in broken heap. He obviously does not left them on the brink of death, but that gonna be hurt for weeks to come for sure.
He then looked at the guy who had his sketchbook tossed away. "Sup? You OK there? Took care of these limp dicks, so hopefully they won't bother you anymore. Sorry about your book... but here's your bag." Ryouta handed the bag over to him. Hope he understand him now that he spoke in english.

The brutal scene was like something between a kung-fu movie and a boxing match on a sports station. The reality was that Zachary was shocked and disturbed by the brutality of violence even from both sides... and yet he couldn't look away. By the end of it, the jerks from his class were now flat on the ground after a savage beating, some blood spattered on the ground. Luckily the rain was washing it a bit from view.
They groaned and coughed as they slowly struggled to get away. After a few minutes, they took off in limps and wobbles to get away from the ripped older teen. Zachary finally had a look at the stranger, who looked like someone who had been hitting the gym and an all protein shake diet. At first, he thought this guy was gonna hurt him too considering his blind fury-- but soon picked up his bag. Even more surprising, he spoke good english, which put his fears a bit to ease. His crass language was a bit much for Zachary, someone who had been urged to not swear off often but he got the point.
He let out a sigh of relief and to calm his nerves... and realized he was still sitting on the ground. Not that he offered a hand to help him up, he slowly pulled himself back to his feet and shook off his coat. He tilted his hood up to reveal his face more, showing his black hair and leaner face. "Thanks. I appreciate it..." he said as he took his bag back.
His gaze however looked to the ruins of his notebook. He slowly walked to the puddle and picked it up, its pages soaked with the rain. His face remained the same, a mutual state of disappointment, till he realized he could save some of it. Despite the rain, he put it on one of the stone fence and took out his smart phone. He took a picture of the creature he had drawn, inadvertently showing the creature to his 'new acquaintance'. He clicked a few just as the water would of started staining the colored pencil drawing of an elegant looking black panther with adorned features, looking like a magical creature. He saved what he could, satisfied enough with that as it was.
As he put his phone away, he turned to the ripped guy. "Sorry for the trouble. Um, who are you anyway? Its actually kind of nice to meet another person my age who speaks english here." he asked.

"Next time you guys do this again I swear I'll send you to hospital for good, you shitty brats! Shitty excuse for human beings you are! Repeat this and I'll make you all eat shit!" Ryouta cursed at them as they left.
"Sorry with what happened to your book," Ryouta said "I didn't expect them to take it away from me that quickly. Is it... salvageable?" Considering that he was frozen back then Ryouta surmised that the book has probably soaked enough water... which honestly not a good thing. But he can't win everything. Normally people would be too shocked when he suddenly used violence in front of them anyway... But what can be do? Thankfully, while the other guy took picture of his sketches, Ryouta felt a tap on his shoulder. Valt dropped his D-Nexus on his hand, and then devolved back to Chibimon to enter his bag.
"Who am I? Well, just someone who hates bullying. Noguchi Ryouta of 3-1. Are you freshman? Normally it's rare to see bullying done on foreigners like this... has it been a while since they do that?"
Honestly, with enough proof of bullying, he's sure that they will get a stern talking to.. and at least a detention. Ryouta quickly messaged his mother just to tell her.
...Understandably, she's not happy at all. The answer was immediate 'we'll talk later at home'.
Ah well...
"Are you OK? Hurt anywhere? Do you want me to help you go to the infirmary?"

Zachary cast his gaze away for a bit. "Guess I'm just lucky that way..." he sighed, and packed up his book. Luckily, not all the pages were ruined, and could be salvaged-- at least till he got a new notebook. "Naw, not all of it, but the latest one is gone. But that is what cellphones are for right?" he said as he took out his smartphone and showed the photo of his panther he made.
The black and mythical looking cat still looked good, even though the water blurred a bit of the darker coloring. In an artistic sense, it even added to it. Either way, he at least saved something. He did feel better, knowing that the bullies really did get what they deserve. He did worry about Ryouta here, but he was pretty kind before him.
"I really appreciate your help. But no, I wasn't too badly hurt or anything. Just surprised..." he said as he shook out his coat, the rain still drizzling around them. "Anyway, I was gonna head through the park to get to the station. I know this might be a stupid thing to ask, but think we can keep talking on the move?"
Part of him was worried if those jerks would still try to 'ambush' him in the park, but he risked travel through there because it was the fastest way to get to the train station, and a nice place to clear his head. He wasn't sure if his new friend would follow, but it was a possibility.
Meanwhile, as they talked and walked-- something odd was happening around them as the lamps flickered a little bit and lightning crackled above Shibuya. It could have been something to do with the storm, but the general facility was beginning to experience odd brownouts and reception problems.
A digital disturbance was slowly starting to build for an unknown cause...
... as well did Zachary's smartphone as the screen began to show signs of static around the panther picture he took.

Going to the train station? Well he guess that the guy would be scared to go alone. Well, why not he guess. Ryouta just... decided to take it? It'll be a bit of a detour, considering that he need to take his scooter... but eh, so be it. There should be a convenience store nearby for him to purchase some of his meals. Ryouta for the meantime only glanced at his scooter. To tell Valt to stay there... or not? Nah, best not.
Ryouta walked with the guy. Sadly there's not much for him to talk. He doesn't really know what to talk, so he opted to talk about his junior's arts and design, he guess. Sadly, their unaligned interest means Ryouta often opted to be the more passive talker, letting the younger teen pour out what he have in mind. Ryouta's more into culinary, and he honestly not quite the art type.
...Disturbance, though, made his attention drift away from the conversation. Ryouta looked more alert. He tapped his schoolbag, to which something tapped back, but softly.
"...Hmmmm..." Ryouta pulled out his D-Nexus. Immediately, map of the city appeared on the screen. He zoomed it to his location. ...If a Digimon suddenly Realized here, then it'll be bad... Especially if they come from digital world...

"Sorry to ask you for this, but those jerks-- if they likely want to corner me they would do it after your gone and in there. But i usually take this route to get to the station. From there I'm good..." Zachary replied, "So are you a student here too?"
Though he too was a shier one to strangers, he wasn't ill-adept at starting a conversation. Though he was simple to the topics. He did just meet the guy, but also his larger, stronger frame made him seem a bit intimidating. Had he not of come to his aid, he would of thought he too was one of the bullies. He must of been popular with the girls too...
He did see the odd device in his hand, which looked odd. "What's that device? That a new cell phone model? " he asked, curious.
As far as that digital disturbance was concerned... it remained as it centered into the park. THe rain, while annoying, began to form a kind of mist. Visibility was starting to become a pain. While they could see the road and direction of the station, others looking into the park wouldn't see too easily.
The odd static, now reached Zachary as he soon heard his phone making odd sounds. He looked to his phone-- seeing it now frozen on his picture he had photographed using his camera. "Huh? What's this? " he said as he shook his phone, the screen refusing to move or respond.
The fog was now eclipsing the rest of the city-- but the others would soon learn it wasn't mere fog-- it was a digital field. An area created when a Digimon would emerge in the real world.
As they would sense the strangeness of the event, little did they know they were being watched. NOt by the bullies who were long gone, but something that moved through the shadows of the trees. It was silent, only heard by mere rustling of leaves like the wind...
... and the soft rumble of a purr like distant thunder. Orange eyes tracked them from the shadows, focused on the backs of its topics of interest. It was near a 'goal' and it was encouraged to follow them.

"Yeah, I got it, don't worry. Too used to those sort of things..." or if you let your guard down they suddenly would come back with an entire gang... that wouldn't be pretty at all. Still, that question... how to say, it's a bit silly. He definitely came out from the high school building, didn't he? Then again, it take few moment of walk to go to the park... he guess he just wouldn't know.
"Yeah," Ryouta answered. He already gave him his class number before after all... The D-Nexus apparently caught the attention of the kid. "No, not quite like that, just... a customized phone I guess."
Thankfully Ryouta set the D-Nexus display to Japanese. Yuuki is worse in that case. He totally left the D-Nexus in Digimoji... that gonna raise a lot of question alright. But that's not the topic at the moment. Mist. That would be the sign of Digital realization.
"...Valt."
"Mmm, haven't smelled anything just yet," the Chibimon muffled, low answer resounded from the bag. "Should I come out?"
"...Well, I guess this is emergency..."
Ryouta took out an eyepiece of a mask from his bag and wears it. At least this should improve the visibility somewhat. Beside him, Valt is ready. The then-Chibimon Vmon has jumped out from the bag and is now focusing his senses He definitely doesn't like this... If it's adult stage, then some collateral going to happen... if it's Perfect stage? Double shit. It's going to hell. Thankfully no Digimon can assume form higher than Perfect in real world thanks to DATS... as much as he want to vomit when he admitted that.

(Making it clear, this digimon is only rookie-- best to keep rookie vs rookie ) The fog was growing thicker as the presence watched them-- not out of a sense of an emergence zone, but more of a fact that whatever came through had a ripple effect on their surroundings. The presence of the fog was seriously starting to mess with visibility, even as the rain drizzled around them. " What is with this mist all of a sudden... it better not be like that movie," Zachary said with a nervous reference to Steven King. The creature kept to the shadows of the trees, the two boys constantly in its sight. It sensed hostility-- frustration-- pain. THe pain of the one that gave it life. It would defend it... ... It moved forward steadily, a growl escaped it... And it pounced. " GRRROWL!" The black blur moved at a high speed, which easily startled Zachary. It moved above them and pounced over them in a single bound. Zachary fell backwards again, alarmed by its fast movement. " The hell!" They saw as it landed several meters away. A black beast, feline in nature. As Ryouta saw it, he could tell that creature was the cause. The digimon-- but one he might have never seen before, or one his digivice might not be able to identify it. It was a black panther-like creature, with golden bracers along its front paws. It was crouched, low in statue to pounce again. Its yellow eyes pierced out at them, easily cutting through the fog. The also the small detail of a digi-ring was around its right rear paw, which might mean something to Ryouta and his digimon. Zachary was baffled by the site of the jaguar like creature-- unaware it was a digimon, or even the truth behind it as it moved so fast. ... It was almost the spitting image of his drawing he saved on his phone!

"Don't say strange things, just stay quiet for now," Ryouta's tone carried eerie calmness to it, like someone who's too used to this situation. "Don't make sudden movement... I'll deal with this, alright?"
Growl. Not good. Ryouta rolled to the side before he could get pounced on. God, all those reflex training in Digital World sure came really handy. His hand shot at the card holder on his waist and tapped it. The card holder spins outward, revealing various cards ready. Valt meanwhile immediately jumped to action.
A bright orb of energy launched from his palm in rather outstanding velocity. He hoped to caught the panther Digimon off guard by tossing it at its flank.
"Hey bub, either cut it out or we'll send you back to Village of Beginning. Up to you. I'd rather not though, considering that Digimon died in real world would seriously never return back now that I think of it."
In situation like this... Which card to use...?

The energy burst from the odd little blue creature-- from Zachary's point of view made him look in surprise, and more forth more as it flew at the panther. THough a shock, the panther jumped back, the blast grazing his black fur lightly. Despite it, he had a feral look in his eye as he growled back at them.
The more Zachary looked, the more he began to recognize the beast. It was the spitting image from right out of his drawing-- his imagination even. How it was there or why, he had no clue. Perhaps those bullies hit him harder than he thought and he was hallucinating. Especially at the sight of a strange blue dragon creature now fighting him.
The panther Digimon made another attack-- this time letting out a panther's growl and flames licked around his maw. "Spiral... FLAME!" it roared in a rough tone and let loose a blast of fire, a spiraling stream of it aimed right for Valt.
"Wh-what the hell is going on here?!" Zachary shouted at Ryouta.

"Feral type eh... Well, don't blame me for knocking you down then," Valt commented, cracking his fists. "Yo, shaky legs! It'll do you more good to gain a bit more of a distance, and probably check your pocket. See if there is any Tamagotchi like object there," he addressed Zach. "Now commere ye oversized cat. This will be my second tussle with a cat after my reformat, HEH!"
Valt's ready. The Vmon dodged the attack that come at him with a cartwheel. Nice attack, but not enough. Why? That's simple. Not only he declared the name of the attack first, but he also do it with a delay. That lost its surprise element entirely. Valt grinned widely.
"Say, I don't think I need a protection here just yet... how about leaving this dude to me, Aniki?"
"From what I can gather this dude might be related to our guy over there," Ryouta pointed his thumb as Zach. "...Make sure to not damage the guy too much, got it? Just knock him out and bring him back to sense"
"Who do you think I am?"
Valt then roared loudly. A challenge? A deviant roar? No one can tell for sure, but... his body began to be coated with blue aura with white wisp of lights that rose from his feet to slightly above the top of his ears.
"Now, shall we dance?"

The panther growled with feral intent, too wild and too concern with something else. It seemed to be acting in defense of something but wasn't clear what. Zachary was at a loss between the little blue creature with his new friend, talk of Tamogachis or whatever... he had no such device on his person at the moment!
The black cat let loose another blast of fiery streams from his maw, roaring each time to try and hit the jumping, glowing blue dragon creature. It met the dragon's desire to battle with a barrage of the fiery attacks in attempt to hit its prey. It was keeping a distance.
Should Vmon try to get close, the panther would welcome it. It would be a surprise for the little Vmon.
All the while Zachary got to his feet in concern. His gaze came to Ryouta, holding the device he spied moments ago. Though the fog was thick, the smoke from the cat's flames were becoming more noticeable. More so that went through Zachary's mind was how calm Ryouta was-- him clearly having done this before.
However, the more he looked at the giant cat the more familiar he looked. THat and he noticed a key detail. Not once did he even try to make any aggressive movement towards him. He was more focused to attack the brutish guy and his little blue guy.
