Smiles On The Screen (Plot Case)

With such a long, troublesome series of days behind the pair, it isn't surprising Alice and Dorothy need a break of some kind. Absentmindedly browsing the internet on her laptop set on a messy table riddled with a mug of half drank hot chocolate and other junk, Alice gazes around with half-lidded eyes, uncertain as to her Digimon partner's location, but more watchful of them than ever, and for good reason. Her glance slowly moves from the screen to the window, as if expecting a witch to pop up there at any moment and demand in. It wouldn't be the first time, after all. With the sun slowly beginning to set, the green haired woman finally notices the sound of running water, and the bathroom door opens to reveal something she quickly turns her head away from, slight steam coming from beyond the door as it opens. Dorothy steps out pridefully with a towel wrapped around her, whipping her head back once so as to get some of the water out of her golden hair, and she looks to Alice with a combination of a puzzled look and a mischievous grin. "Gyahaha, that's always fun... What ya lookin' at, Alice?" She catches her Tamer shooting her a glare and laughs in response, just glad to be with her. "Still worried 'bout that whole, uhh... DATS thing? Ya shouldn't focus on it too much." "Yes..." Alice sighs, and closes her laptop before taking her notebook off the table before stuffing it back into her bag. "I want to take my mind off things, too, but... It's not easy." She then looks back at the Witchmon again, a slight grumble escaping her mouth, the boredom in her voice audible. "Put on some clothes." "Duh. You seem pretty bored, too. I got an idea." Cackling to herself, she snaps her clawed fingers to teleport her clothes on, and leans on the table next to Alice with that large, toothy grin of hers, all manner of ideas, good and bad in her mind. "If you're so worried 'bout me gettin' caught by goons, how 'bout you come out 'n have fun with me? I'm gettin' nervous all cooped up in here... I'm sure I could find somethin' to do."The emerald haired woman slowly stands up, shaking her head, and she lets out a half-hearted laugh. "Sure, why not? You're not the only one getting antsy from being locked up, but I want you to do something... If you're going to go out, and you've been getting interested in human culture, I guess our interests align."
The entertainment District still rings with life, things being later into the day, but not too late. With the pair searching for something to do, Alice cannot help but feel a little nervous as she and Dorothy wander about, with the Digimon in the lead for once, something she no doubt enjoys. What Dorothy enjoys less are the clothes she's wearing, plain human ones similar to Alice's own, and somehow more stuffy and uncomfortable than that impractical red dress Witchmon always wears. Maybe it's just a thing she'll never get used to, the witch thinks to herself. Taking a few cautious glances around, it almost seems like Alice is almost more lost than Dorothy is in this situation, but the witch Digimon continues to lead, not wanting to attract attention. Alice can only pray that the Holosuit device clipped onto Dorothy's ear coupled with the convincing conventional disguise is enough, the green haired woman nervously watching her partner's back. "What are you looking for, exactly? You seem nervous... For once." A fitting statement, given how both of them are uncertain. With the vast majority of Dorothy's inhuman features concealed, it's hard to tell that she's a Digimon, save for a few small details only noticeable to the highly observant. "Yeah, yeah... Thinkin' 'bout one of them arcades or nightclubs... The kind you were in back at New Years or whatever ya humans call it... I don't get why you're all so obsessed with time 'n stuff." Finally finding something of interest, Dorothy briefly points in the direction of one of the larger arcades, the kind that some might gawk at and think of as tourist traps. With a rather polished and clean exterior and a flashy inside full of the latest games and the like, she stands outside it with a forced, but confident smile. "How 'bout this?" Alice's response is simple, puzzled at the thought herself. "I guess it's just something we humans are used to. And I'm fine with heading to an arcade. Better than simply doing nothing, anyways." As much as she isn't normally into this kind of thing, she obliges her partner, and tries her best to smile even if things feel... Off for some reason, with that barely perceptible feeling of dread lurking in the corners of her mind lingering as she steps in, following after her partner with a sigh. To her, this all feels like a bad idea.

Once again, alarms and protocols were activated in the Neo-DATS headquarters. The reason? Apparently a digimon had been sighted in a public place yet again. This time, it was the Entertainment district. And, because it was Champion level or greater, this required an agent to be despatched to investigate.
On duty that evening was Agent Maria and her twin partners Blanc and Noir. Thus, it was them that would approach the entertainment district, where the signature of the digimon was coming from.
"Blanc, Noir, what do you feel so far?" Maria asked, recognizing her partners as the better trackers for this. Even though they were currently inside the V-Pet function of her digivice, they could sense other digimon better than she or her gadgets could.
"It's faint, they're using a holosuit, so, I guess we can credit them for discretion" Noir replied. "But I feel that they're... directly ahead, yes".
"Alright then" Maria said, then walked forward through the district. It appeared to be a lively night, lots of people around. This meant that it would be best to not make a scene if she could help it. While she thought that it would be better to leave a holosuited digimon alone, orders were orders. She had to investigate and report. That was her job after all.
It took a while, but, eventually, Blanc spoke from her digivice. "There, near the arcade." she said. Maria looked, then saw two figures. One was a blonde woman, the other green haired. And with a start, Maria recognized her.
"She was one of the tamers at Scramble Crossing" Noir stated, looking interested. "She and her partner handled themselves pretty well if I recall. Right, Maria?"
"Yes, that's right" Maria agreed. Now then, this changed things. Ordinarily Maria would have probably approached the tamer and warn them about the new policy of digimon on Earth, but, seeing as this was someone she had met before, and seemed to have a level head on their shoulders, well, perhaps this was a chance to learn more?
Keeping a respectful distance, Maria would follow Alice and Dorothy into the arcade, waiting for an opportune moment to approach them.

The moment the pair enter, the tension seems to fade away for the most part... For now, at least, the stress drowned out in the cacophony of blips, beeps, and loud music being blasted from some of the larger, more impractical arcade machines. A few of the games seem popular enough to be completely filled up by players, leaving a few options out of reach. "I'm not normally one to be in a place like this, so... You lead."
With those last two words said, Dorothy immediately heads off to search for the biggest, shiniest, most ridiculous arcade machine she can find. There's a childish wonder in her eyes, the disguised Digimon's only real giveaway being the sharp teeth her open smile has as she gazes around, there being too many options for her to decide. "So, uhh... What are they?" The question is as innocent as her expression, a rarity given her usual, more mischevous attitude.
"Arcade games. I'm sure you've seen people play them on your outings alone." Alice follows behind Dorothy closely, the green haired woman perhaps feeling a bit out of place. "You could think of them as interactive books to some extent, but that would be a very broad assumption and mostly wrong." She faintly chuckles, looking over to see what Dorothy's interested in: A large cabinet that almost resembles part of a cockpit, the kind one would see in fanciful images of the future with gigantic, piloted robots.
Sitting down in the cabinet's large, padded chair, Dorothy laughs maniacally and attempts to pull a lever on the game's complicated controls... Only for it to jam up, her excitement screeching to a dead halt. "...Uhh, I don't think this works."
"It's like a vending machine, you need to put money in first." Alice rummages through her bag to pull out a coin, and gently tosses it to Dorothy with a half-hearted smile. "Just don't shake it and expect prizes to fall out." She leans on the chair, looking down at the blonde, supposedly normal woman she's with for a moment before looking at the large, slightly curved screen of the cabinet showing a demo of the game, showcasing a rather intense first-person battle against some sort of alien cyborg monster with a singular red eye.
Before inserting the coin into the slot, Dorothy looks to her friend and decides to ask a few questions. "So, like... It's been on my mind ever since I first started seein' these things, but... Ain't these kinda like computers?" After placing the coin into the machine, she's given a brief tutorial that she rolls her eyes at, continuing the conversation while absentmindedly focusing on the game. "Y'know, like the things ya ramble about relatin' to your research stuff?"
"...We can't be sure of that." Alice makes sure to not respond to Dorothy until she knows there isn't anyone nearby, readjusting her posture to stand up straight. "It's not exactly the time to be theory crafting, but yes, arcade machines, my laptop, and a lot of other things run on very similar principles..." With a sigh, she hopes things will be okay despite the feeling she has in her gut. Is she being watched? No, that would be ridiculous...

So, the Tamer and her partner made their way into the arcade. Agent Maria gave a small sigh about that. Approaching tamers in public meant that her job would be much more difficult, but, at least her orders were to simply make contact with tamers that she found and not to accost or apprehend them.
The blonde woman made her way into the arcade, taking off her sunglasses and putting them in her jacket pocket. For a few moments, Maria wondered how she should approach these two and state her purpose without making them panic. Her suddenly looming upon them would undoubtedly make them do so, while watching them from a distance would probably make her come across as a creeper. Just... how should she do this?
"Oh wow! You're going great! You've beaten my high score at least!"
Agent Maria realized with a start that that voice was Noir's. And that somehow she had emerged from her V-Pet program. To her horror, the Sistermon Noir had run over to where Dorothy was playing the game, and seemed to be cheering her on.
"Oh my god... how could she do this?!" Maria thought to herself. She supposed in the end, all she could do was walk over to where they were, then assume a humble expression.
"I'm very sorry that my companion interrupted you..." she said, cautiously approaching the two. In a way, she hoped that she wasn't recognized from the Scramble Crossing incident so that they could part ways without any further incident, yet at the same time, knew that if they did so, it would make any further interaction awkward. Instead she spoke a little further. "Just this is her favourite game here and she likes seeing others be good at it..."
Well, from here, Maria could only wait to see how they reacted to this.

Before Alice can even respond to the strangers, one dressed in strange clothes, Dorothy ends up responding to Noir. "Hey, hey! This ain't exactly easy for me, they just threw me into this situation where I gotta, like, punch some big metal thing in the face over and over with a sword!" She's clearly improvising, but learning quickly, blocking a laser shot from the cyclopean robot and attempting to go in for the kill. "Gyahaha! Time to put this jerk outta his misery!" Anyone giving the blonde haired "human" a good look would notice two subtle things, her razor sharp, pointed teeth, and her pointed ears, a strange device clipped to one. Aside from that, the Holosuit does a fairly convincing job of making her look like an ordinary human being.
It strikes Alice that this is one of the pairs who was there during the Spire incident during that fateful New Years', the emerald haired woman uncertain how to respond. "It's okay, it isn't often you see someone having quite this much fun on something like this." Running a hand through her own hair, Alice slowly turns to face Maria and Noir with a faint smile, a little forced, but friendly. "Plus she's being rather loud. I'm Alice, and the one in the cockpit is my friend." She instinctively begins to hold her bag tighter, knowing that her notebook is inside, but for now, it's probably for the best to play things safe rather than start asking the questions herself. "Your friend is quite interesting... I guess mine is, too."
"Uhh... I think it ain't the best idea to..." Distracted by the conversation, Dorothy ignores the video game for a moment, and things immediately take a turn for the worse inside, the screen now displaying a large warning that she'll have to start over unless she inserts more coins. "Oh, Come on! I was doin' perfect for a first try!" For a moment, irrational rage consumes her, and Dorothy almost does something until Alice interrupts.
"Enough, Dorothy. Relax..." Alice fishes her wallet out of her bag a second time and tosses her yet another coin, shaking her head slightly and turning her attention back to the mysterious woman. "...I guess there's no rest for someone like me."
Inserting the second coin into the machine, Dorothy continues to play, being a bit more cautious this time. "Yeah, this, uhh... Ain't easy. S-Sorry about that..." She briefly has an apologetic expression on her face, but that soon vanishes as she's focused on the game again.
"You two seem friendly enough, and I'm sure we have... Some similar experiences. What do you want to know?" She states the question to Maria, keeping an eye on Dorothy to watch her mood. She's still clutching her bag tightly, perhaps an obvious sign something is in there. "It's all right if you think we need some more privacy."

Thankfully the culture of an arcade meant that few others had truly paid attention to Dorothy's peculiarities. Heck, more than a few girls here wore cat ears, one even with a tail accessory, so pointed ears and sharp teeth wasn't enough for the management to release the hounds. Not even Noir and Blanc stood out with some of the eccentric outfits that the usual arcade-goers wore.
Agent Maria noted the look of familiarity in the green-haired girl's eyes, but was also glad she wasn't going to point that out in public. However, when the introductions were made, she just had to make sure they were on the same level. "My name's Maria. I believe we encountered each other on New Year's?" she asked, matter-of-factly.
Noir for the moment remained silent, allowing Dorothy to retain her concentration. She was almost disappointed when it seemed like Dorothy ran out of credit, but Alice provided more funding in time. Maria continued the conversation.
"Yeah, she is fairly interesting. Her name's Noir." Maria replied. Following this, Alice asked if she had any questions, adding if they needed anymore privacy. Maria smiled and shook her head.
"It should be fine, just as long as neither of us mentions the D-Word. But there are a few questions I'd like to ask that I didn't get the chance to earlier, if that's alright with you." she looked at the being playing the game. "First one, how have you two been holding up since new year's? Everything going okay? This side of the train tracks and the other?"
Maria would probably be more direct if she wasn't understood here. But for now, she liked that Alice seemed to be savvy enough to figure out what was going on here.

"It's good to finally meet you without things being hectic... and without being a little under the influence." Alice states, her expression hard to read at first, almost as if she's quietly judging or processing what she's heard. When she's done that, she returns to her slight smile. "Train tracks? Ah, right, right..." She shakes her head and laughs, finding the euphemism a bit silly, but appropriate. "Fine on both ends. I research things when I'm not relaxing or doing my job or writing. Or making sure Dorothy doesn't get into trouble... I hate to admit it, but she has a habit of wandering off at night. I do my best to keep her safe, though. It's hard to really... Direct her insatiable curiosity." Alice makes sure she doesn't let Dorothy hear some of what she's saying, the emerald haired woman looking back to her after speaking.
"It's important to understand things, so I've set myself on the goal of trying to understand Dorothy and all the... Others like her. How they act, behave, that sort of thing." She continues to hold her bag close, though a bit less now, relaxing slightly. She shuts her eyes briefly, and then decides to share something she thinks she probably shouldn't, obscuring it enough to make it understandable only to the Agent. "I've got drawings and more in a sketchbook, if you're curious about... Some of the things I've seen."
"She talkin' 'bout her notebook?" Dorothy interjects while playing the game, clearly paying some attention to the conversation on hand, the disguised Digimon making her virtual mech do a sharp turn to attack something supposedly behind her. She seems to be getting really into the game, almost a bit too into it, like she's taking it as an actual life or death situation, jerking the controls around a bit and gritting her teeth.
"Well, it is where most of my research notes are... I'm with a group that's dedicated to study people like our friends. It's hard work, but I guess someone has to do such things. Could say we're paranormal investigators..." She opens her bag and takes out the notebook, not opening it, but perhaps feeling comfortable enough to at least show it.
Dorothy decides to mention another thing as she finally gets a brief moment of respite, a results screen showing up on the display as her score in the game is tallied."Don't forget the whole teacher thing ya do. Talking to lil' dorks about both, uhh... Sides of this big, uhh... Coin?" She shrugs, looking to the three with an awkward, slight frown. "I mean, I kinda flip between bein' closer to one and the other a lot. End up feelin' like a bit of a stranger, no matter what..."
"that does worry me..." The green haired woman mumbles to herself for a moment before trying to turn things around. "It won't be very easy to integrate into human society, but I'm certain it's possible for... Others like Dorothy and your friend to do so. At least to some extent. It's something we'll have to consider at some point..."

Agent Maria was glad that Dorothy caught on to their method of discussion, and was impressed with the way she conducted herself in such a situation. In fact, conducting this conversation in this little secret way made her feel somewhat... envigorated. It was a little silly to think about, but, as an only child, Maria had never really come across such a situation where she was straddling the line between obeying and breaking the rules, and having this coded conversation in which both she and Alice understood each other was rather exciting.
"I understand, Noir can be like that sometimes." she answered, finding it too hard to conceal a small smile.
Alice then said, in a fairly ambiguous way, that she wanted to understand more about digimon. She then offered to share her learnings from her notebook. Of course, Maria was eager to look. Of course she had to keep a cool face, acting too enthusiastic might ruin things.
"If you're comfortable about sharing, then I'd be glad to." she replied. Following that, Agent Maria decided to be friendly and docile enough so that she and Alice could discuss the findings in a situation where neither had cause to fear the other.
"I see, so you're in a group of paranormal investigators... I presume mostly active on the other side of the tracks?" Maria asked, but gave a nod to understand that she was in fact taking them seriously. Then Dorothy mentioned that she acted as a teacher as well. Maria, Blanc and Noir understood that to mean she was a teacher for digimon too, something they approved of.
At Alice's last point, Maria gave a sigh, nodding with a sense of futility. "That's right... it's not easy, but, I suppose, it'd be nice if somehow we found a way."
Supposing Maria might cultivate a better relationship from this encounter, especially with someone who had acted well in her view in Scramble Crossing, and who was also savvy enough to conduct this whole conversation with alertness and keeping to ambiguity with great skill, she might offer something in return.
"By the way, my name is Kara." she said, revealing her true name as a means of showing that she would be open to trusting Alice for the time being.

It takes a bit for Alice to respond, waiting for Dorothy to get busy with the game again so she can talk a bit more personally. "...It's been like that for a while. Investigating paranormal things like ghosts and urban legends and so on is... Extremely stressful at times." Shaking her head, she laughs a little as she looks through her bag, taking out the simple black notebook and handing it over very gently to Maria and opening it to a somewhat cluttered pair of pages. There's a diagram with a human, a monster, and a gadget in a triangle and some sort of attempt to figure out the connection between the three. "There's been more than a few times I've ended up in mortal danger, even with Dorothy at my side... Sometimes she's even partially responsible for it. She's still learning to act.. Responsibly, so to speak."
The other pages in Alice's notebook are a bit more sensible, but are occasionally full of wild speculation or references to the notes of other people, supposedly other "researchers" such as herself. Her notes on the geography of the other world are much more professional, and there's even a sticky note with a checklist of locations she's interested in. "My notes mean a lot to me, so please be gentle with it, Kara. I'm almost certain that I've barely even scratched the surface with things... Hard to imagine what else is out there."
"...Ugh." Dorothy stands up from the arcade machine, having played enough of it for now and having lost for the second time. A barely concealed rage is visible in her eyes, held back only by knowing the consequences of doing anything too extreme. "Uhh... Y-You can have a turn now." She states to Noir without really saying much, grumbling to nobody in particular and awkwardly standing next to Alice with a frown on her face.
"How are you feeling? You seem stressed." Alice looks to the blonde haired "human" with a sigh, her expression stoic but with traces of worry.
Taking a moment to lean against the side of the arcade machine, she nods repeatedly, as if to reassure her friend."...Yeah, I'll be fine! Just gimme a minute. Failed the dumb game again anyways."

"I can imagine." Agent Maria agreed on the notion that investigating such things can be stressful. That had been the past 8 years of her life after all. Maria looked at the sketch that Alice showed her, the triangle with the human, monster and device at each point. The scientific part of her mind could empathize with this picture a lot. It had been a huge mystery on her for most of her adult life, and yet she hadn't been given the freedom to investigate it. She frowned with resentment for a moment before it faded.
Mortal danger though, that brought Maria back to the reality that tamers faced themselves when entering the unknown of the digital world. Mortal danger. That was what made her most secure with her job. The end goal - to prevent others being within that risk. But she didn't speak her mind here, by now she trusted Dorothy to be a somewhat responsible person that understood these things.
Agent Maria continued to turn the pages of the book, fascinated with what she saw, able to comprehend a lot of it, but others she didn't. Eventually, she felt that she would be bereft of her duties if she didn't at least ask the question first. "This is some really good information, Alice. If it's alright with you, could I please take some pictures of it?" she then decided to add to that- "...only the pages that you permit me to take records though of course. The pictures I take will be viewed by others. If you're not okay with that, I understand." For now, Maria, no, Kara was not willing to damage a relationship with a tamer that she respected, at least initially.
Dorothy then mentioned a teacher thing that she did, on the other side. This intrigued Blanc too much for her to not notice, speaking from Kara's V-Pet. "You work as a teacher on the other side of the tracks too?" the Sistermon asked, brightly. "What's that like for you?"
Then came the crunch question, integration. Kara knew that she was in no position to make any kind of guarantee or negotiation on that point. But... that didn't limit her from speculation.
"Personally, I think a path of minimal resistance would be best on that kind of path." she said, seemingly nonchalantly, but maintained eye contact with Alice as she said it. "Make coexisting with humans as seamless as Pokemon Go or similar, that's the key to it all, by my reasoning."

Alice lets the pictures be taken, nodding to Kara without a second thought. Perhaps she's excited at her work being validated to some extent. "Any reason in particular? I try to do my best, some of this information might not be accurate or true. I still don't know what makes my friends tick, for starters..." Alice looks around somewhat nervously just for a moment, so as to make sure nobody is looking, her tone shifting to something a little more guilty. "Sometimes, thinking about all this stuff keeps me up at night. I guess most of us try not to think about these questions, but someone has to. Someone has to figure out the truth... No matter where that leads."
"...Yeah, you need to sleep more." Dorothy comments, shaking her head a little bit and laughing under her breath. "And ya call me irresponsible when you work yourself to the bone 'n stick your head in all manner of places it should be, ya big dork." She still seems a bit tense from losing the game, but is slowly calming down, her more instinctual desires being held back.
"Ah, right, the whole teaching thing..." with a hand on her hip, Alice smirks slightly at the mention of her teaching. "It's odd. Some already know a lot, some barely know anything. I guess I need to look into the whole natural life cycle thing if I'm to continue figuring that out. But aside from that, things have been going well..." She can't help but feel a bit odd, talking to a Digimon about an aspect of her research. "It's just as much of a learning experience for them as it is for me, heh."
Dorothy can't help but chime in a bit, shrugging to herself. "Heck, even I learn from Alice sometimes. Ain't like, classes, but every day with her I get a lil' closer to understanding people."
"I don't think integration will ever be entirely seamless, but for some, perhaps it's worth a shot one day. It's going decently well with Dorothy here, even if she's... A bit of a handful sometimes." Perhaps it's for the best Alice doesn't mention her partner's occasional joyrides at night and the trouble she sometimes gets into while doing them, the green haired woman making a slightly awkward smile. "The more complicated questions can wait, though. I'm not qualified to answer those."

Alice accepted the pictures being taken, but also asked what the purpose was. Kara was happy to explain why. "Well, fact of the matter is, DATS no longer operates within the other side of the tracks. This can be difficult when we're short of information, but after the disaster of our last incarnation, we're not willing to risk missions to find out information like this. But, even with these notes, we can learn a little more about the other world and what to expect from it in our operations."
Kara expected such instances would be moments where unknown threats occurred, and hoped that there would be something within Alice's notes that would allow them to protect more lives against it.
When she was done, Kara acknowledged Alice's further musings. "I understand, it keeps me up at night too." she admitted. "The capabilities of them... ordinarily such powers only occur in fantasy, but, here we are, facing it all as real. I just hope it never comes to a moment of crisis."
When Alice spoke of teaching, Noir and Blanc turned their heads and were eager to contribute. "Yeah, that's right. Ultimately, when we're re...arisen, we retain a variable amount of our previous memories." Noir stated. "Some of us retain more memories than others. I hope you're patient with those that have lost more memories than others?" she finished hopefully.
The talk of integration was logical. Yes, it would be difficult. And Kara supposed there was nothing much else to make from all this. As far as she was concerned with her mission here, Alice and Dorothy were no threat to anyone. They both seemed like fairly responsible individuals, as they had suspected was the case at Scramble Crossing. So there was little reason to bother them further for now.
"Well then, if that's all that needs to be discussed, we'll be on our way." Kara said, standing up. Noir pouted a little at having to leave, but acquiesced to returning to Kara's V-Pet for now. "Thanks for cooperating with us tonight."
Kara offered a handshake here. And if that would be all for now, she would turn and leave the arcade, making a report that stated that all was fine here tonight.

"...I'll be sure to watch that side of the tracks for you whenever possible. I'm all but certain that having a perspective on what's happening there can at least provide some insight on what's happening here." Alice nods, trying her best to pay attention despite how excited and still somewhat worried she is. Hearing that DATS doesn't operate in the Digital World is a bit of a relief, but also slightly worrying. Then again, they likely have to deal with far more pressing matters than the threats of another world, like preventing mass hysteria.
She closes her notebook and stores it away for safekeeping before continuing to speak, mostly to address Noir's comment. "Hmm. So they reincarnate, sort of. I'll have to look into that at some point, it seems too important not to... And in fact, I was teaching them under the expectation they didn't know much, so I already have that covered. It does raise questions..." It does make her mind race, however. The thought of a sort of immortality...
Without another word, Alice shakes the woman's hand, and waves them good bye. She's clearly in deep thought now that she's heard of yet another mystery. Instead, Dorothy is the one to send the DATS agent off, giving them a nod of approval. "It was great meetin' ya two. I think it's, uhh... Made Alice here so much less worried 'bout all kindsa stuff. She was worried sick 'bout me and what might happen. See, it ain't somethin' to worry about!" Perhaps things aren't so bad after all, the disguised Witchmon thinks to herself. Maybe they're better than they've ever been before.
"...Come on, Dorothy, let's have some fun. We probably deserve it." Alice finally speaks up when the DATS agent and her partner have left, her mind still on all manner of strange thoughts... Even if she wants to take her mind off of it and just enjoy herself. "You play whatever you want, I'll... Be here."
"Stop worrying about stuff in the future first." Not too far away from Alice, Dorothy's already found another thing she wants to check out, a two-player fighting game cabinet. She looks back to her human partner, and calls them over, feeling as if a heavy weight was lifted from her. "We've got right here 'n now to think about!"
