The scorching hot sun continued to beat down upon them. The air shimmered and flickered as the heat caused all distances away to wave and dissolve. Even though they came there of their own volition and preparation, being randomly dropped into the desert was probably not the most pleasant...
... not to Shino anyway. The hacker had no real connection to the net from the digital world-- most of the time, and no air conditioner here to boot. She carried two canines in her pack as she walked, her boots crunching and leaving imprints in the sand below her.
Shino had ventured into the digital world on her own accord, and had been with her partner, a Commandramon she had called "Vector". However, things were very different in the digital world than she knew. For starters, Shino's appearance was drastically different here. Not only did she have a change of attire in this strange world, but her physical appearance had changed. As if the data in the world had somehow laced with the digital avatar she used in online games and cyberspace. The very digital self-image she had was projected around herself. It hid her identity but projected the more confident version of herself.
The second big thing was that she was pretty much defenseless at the moment. Vector had a little ... 'accident' when he tried to juggle his "Present Grenade" and it went off in front of him. The result was it forced him back into an in-training state till his data recovered. While it was bad that he couldn't do much till he recovered... the only good thing was he wouldn't be able to talk as much in his state.
"Bzzzt! B-bzz-bzz!" The Missimon buzzed, flying overhead like a wasp around her head.
"Cut it out Vector... You can't even drink water in your state. Besides... it was your idea to try and cross the desert. At least you can fly..."
The continued buzzes made her frown as she shouldered her pack to adjust better. "I swear, I can't tell what is more annoying your yammering or your buzzing..." she half joked.
Hopefully, they would reach the end of the desert or find some form of haven in between. She had been careful to go in the right direction, even as the sun hung overhead.
Though it was harsh, they had to explore somewhere.

Under the same sun, just a few meters away, a duo of tamer and partner were sitting on the hot sun. One of them, the human was looking at the horizon with his Digivice in hand. A few hours earlier, a small blue dot on the small screen of the device appeared. It wasn't the first time that it happened but each time, Desmond couldn't help but follow that dot. Sometimes, he would meet a human, sometimes a Digimon or both on some occasion. He had no idea how far he would have to travel to meet that dot but he was curious. The blond tamer was sitting on the hot sand while his partner, the DemiMeramon, was drawing on the sand with his finger. The living fireball was doodling a stick man with big glasses next to a smiling sun. The blond tamer heard Demi giggling while playing in the sand. He sure liked the sand a lot.
Wipe his forehead, the Frenchman stood up and move his Digivice from left to right to see where the dot was leading him this time. It was hard to tell with the sun shining on it so he used his other hand to block the sunlight. Nothing has changed, still that same blue dot that was slowly flashing on and off. Looking at his partner, Desmond decided to let him play a bit more before moving. The Digimon would quickly spin on himself and then point at the sand below him. "Look! Look!" He shouted while waving his other hand. "It's you and me!" The blond tamer laughed softly. "Very nice drawing, Demi." Those small words made the fireball even happier.
"Alright, time to go." Desmond would say then before adjusting his glasses. Demi nodded rapidly before floating to his tamer who would wait for him to come closer. The Digimon went to hug one of his legs and then look up at him with a broad smile. The human smiled back and looked at his little device one last time before moving toward where the blue dot would lead them. They had been moving around for a few hours now. Desmond was starting to regret going into the desert but Demi seemed quite happy about it. The duo would walk and walk for a little longer. And then he heard a soft beeping noise. The blond tamer quickly looked at his Digivice. The dot was bigger now. They must be close to whatever it wanted them to go.
After a few more minutes, Desmond used his right hand to shield his eyes from the sun and squint them. There was definitively something on the horizon. The heat made the shape hard to describe, they would have to go closer to see. "Oh! Look! Look!" Demi would then shout before tugging on his tamer's pants. "I see something!" Desmond just nodded and took another look at his strange little device. It was pointing straight at whoever, or whatever, there was in front of them. "Let's go say hi!" And without any further notice, the fireball began floating while waving both arms up and down. The human was about to say something but it was already too late. Once his partner goes running or floating quicker, it was hard to stop him. "Demi, slower..."
"Oh hey there!" Demi said out loud still waving his arms and not hearing his tamer asking him to slow down. Hopefully, he wasn't going to get in any kind of trouble.

The desert continued to span, but Shino took appropriate breaks to drink. They should of been reaching the edge of it soon. She kept to the path advice and even had checked her map. Even though physics in the digital world seemed odd. Even though that Vector was at ease flying about, they would have to find their 'rest stop' soon.
"There should be an oasis around here somewhere. If we kept on course it should be on our way. At least there we can rest. " Shino explained.
Bzzt! Bzzt Bzzt! Vector buzzed, the only way he could commune in his in-training state.
"Oh what is it, Vect-- huh?" she stopped as she soon saw and heard the approaching pair.
At first, she thought she was seeing a mirage. However, it soon became clear it wasn't that but two people-- a human and a digimon. He appeared older, and with a small floating fireball of some kind?
Vector buzzed with curiousity as they saw them approach and stop before them. The wind kicked up the sand, and brushed Shino's teal green hair about in it. "You... You're human, right? How are you here?" she asked, as if she had yet to find any other humans in the digital world yet.

Demi was the first one to approach the mysterious girl with blue hair. He would stop a few meters away and look up at her face. He would stay silent for a second as his eyes widened and his jaw dropped a bit. He never saw anyone with green eyes or hair of that color. "Oooooh!" His expression then became happier and he began pointing at the other Digimon that was floating around the girl. Even if Demi was a Digimon, his knowledge of other Digimon was close to zero. He was still learning about his world, and slowly too. "Hi!" He then waved at them before spinning around to look at his tamer who was slowly making his way toward the three of them. "Desmond! Desmond!" He shouted prompting the human to wave back with his left hand.
Turning around once more to now face the girl and her partner, maybe? "I'm Demi! I'm a Digimon!" He said with a smile and tilting his head to one side. "Do you have a name?" He asked while constantly switching his attention to her and the other Digimon. After asking that question, Desmond was now getting closer and he could hear his partner speaking loudly. It was something he got used to but it might be a bit scary for other people. Especially those that just landed into this world. Thus, he just kept walking slowly and while keeping an eye on the girl with the blue hair. It definitively made her stand out in the barren desert around them. "Demi, calm down." He softly said as he made his way next to the DemiMeramon.
"Oh, oh!" And the Digimon pointed at her. "Can I give her a hug?" He cheerfully asked his tamer. Desmond would sigh for a second and shook his head. "Not now, Demi." He simply said with a fatherly tone. That made the DemiMeramon look down, sad. Desmond sighed once more. He did anticipate that reaction but it was still pretty sad seeing him well, sad. "You can ask her if she wants one, Demi." And with that, the fireball expression turned into a very joyful one. "Can I?" His eyes were shining. "Go ask her." Spinning on himself. And before he could ask her the question, the Frenchman opened his mouth to speak.
"Don't worry, he won't burn you." He quickly said before Demi could even move. "He likes to hug people. You can refuse if you want to." Demi did hope that she wouldn't though as he was now ready to hug the girl with green eyes. "And yeah, I'm human." He placed his Digivice into his left hand and extended the other for her to shake after she had accepted or refused Demi's hug. "Desmond, Desmond Edmund." He said his name before smiling. From her question, the blond tamer came to the conclusion that she was most likely new around here. Poor thing, in the middle of a desert as well.
"I got here by this device." And he showed his Digivice to her. "It's an erm... Digivice." As he showed to her, the blue dot was now in the center of the screen. "It led me to you. Or think it did. I still don't fully understand how it works though." And he paused for a second. "You might have one as well... Most human I met had one, they differ in shapes and colors as well." He sighed and put his Digivice in his pants' pocket.
"You must have a lot of questions." He too had a few of his own but he felt that it would be pretty fair for her to ask before. "I will do my best to answer them."

Shino was still a bit taken aback by the suddenly eager flaming digimon creature. She could tell without any doubt that the creature was a fire digimon. No surprise for a desert location, but it was not alone. He didn't hesitate to ask who she was and she took a second to get her bearings. At least this took her mind off the heat. "Um... Hi, there? I'm Shino... " she said, though the little flame got even more excited and even wanted to give her a hug.
Firstly... no, since hugging a burning creature was NEVER a smart idea. Second, that request immediately got Vector all riled up as the little Missimon flew right in front of the flame and angrily buzzed. Knowing her pain in the butt partner, he felt his 'territory' threatened of another digimon trying to get 'too' friendly with her.
However, the human who spoke was quick to put her concern away about him burning her. Seemed this Digimon could control his temperature of sorts. "Oh... um, how about we start with a handshake and work our way up, hot stuff," she said playfully-- which turned out to only make Vector screech with frustration. Shino reached out a hand and gently patted the flame, its fire feeling as oddly soft as a cat's fur.
It was then she learned the stranger was named Desmond. Though she had figured she would use her internet alias when she was 'in this state', she didn't feel the need to lie to him. "Nice to meet you. I'm Shino." she said kindly and listened to him talk. And he had a digivice of his own. Things made more sense to her now as she relaxed, but still, she didn't know what he wanted to just come out to her.
Taking a moment, she reached into her sachel beside her and took out the green Digivice. "Yeah, I have one too. " She said as she showed him. Her's was a stranger vision than his or others she had seen from other 'tamers'. Her's was a D-Tector model, but with the functions designed to work for a tamer. "I still haven't cracked this thing yet, but it sure can do a lot. Anyway, I get we can travel to and from the digital world with it, but I didn't know others frequented this world from our own. " she explained.
"Why are you here? Are you exploring too?"

Demi was happy that Shino decided to gently pat his head. It wasn't a hug but it would do for now. He was all smiled when her hand touched his head and he began giggling. The Digimon was then confused when the Missimon began buzzing at him. He had absolutely no clue what he was trying to do so he just tilted his head on one side and just look at him. It would take him a few seconds before going back to see his tamer and stand next to him. The little fireball was still following the Missimon with his wide eyes trying to understand what he was trying to do or say to him. Desmond wasn't so sure himself but he was thinking that maybe he didn't want others to get too close to his tamer. Which was totally understandable.
"It is nice to meet you, Shino." The Frenchman then had to take a step forward to be able to take a proper look at her D-Tector. It was the first time seeing this model. In other words, he had no clue what it can or can't do. He was still learning what his own Digivce could do. "Yeah, keep it safe. It is a pretty useful device." He was about to talk that his Digivice could Digivolve Demi into a stronger form but he wasn't sure how that works exactly. And he felt that maybe he didn't have to tell her that right away. "And yes, it can act as a... Erm... Portal?" Again he wasn't sure if he was using the right words. He then looked at his own green Digivice again and the screen was now black. Such a weird little device.
"There's a few of us... Humans." He began explaining. "I've met a few so far..." He was trying to find the right words to answer without sounding like someone that lost his mind. "There are different ways for us to land in here. Some fell into the river, others took a train and others got just sucked into... Electronic devices..." He paused to gather his thoughts. "Most of us found a Digimon upon landing in here. I found mine before coming." And he pointed to the DemiMeramon that looked up and smiled. "There is one thing in common about every human I met though." And he adjusted his glasses and took a deep breath. "We all seem to come from Shibuya." He still wasn't sure why but that was the only thing that was constant. He paused once more before asking a question. "I presume that you too come from Shibuya?"
As for why he was here, that was a tricky question. He had no real valid reason to be here. He was perfectly happy being in the real world. But somehow, he always came back here and explore this rather vast world too. One of the reasons was that he wanted to understand how this world works. "I erm..." He bit his lower lip for a second. "I come here from times on times..." It was true, not the entire truth though. "I'm just trying to learn more about those erm..." And the fireball shouted. "Digimon!" He cheerfully said out loud. "Yes, Digimon." And now comes the part that he would have to explain what exactly was a Digimon. Taking a deep breath to clear his mind, the blond tamer began talking once more.
"There's a lot of different Digimon. Some are big, some are small. I've seen some that vaguely resembles animals. But I've also seen some made of rocks, I met a few dinosaurs and dragons. And a little fireball." Again, Demi looked up and went to hug his leg with a smile on his face. "Not all of them are kind though... Some of them are quite... Evil?" He wasn't sure if that was the proper term. "But anyway, it is a strange world and you need to be careful." He then wiped sweats from his face. It was getting hotter now that they weren't moving much. "Is there anything else you would like to know?"

Shino was a bit at a loss, she knew a lot of what he already said. She knew about digimon now, the digital world and of course the different types. She had the gist from online and asking people around Shibuya. She didn't want to believe it was only limited to Japan but it looked like that. She had many real questions that needed answering. If nothing else, about Vector's own past...
... now if only he wasn't such an annoying little--
Her attention was drawn back to her new associate as the mini fireball kept nudging her for a hug. "Honestly, is this amateur hour? Well I get that I'm not that lost. I actually learned alot from this little device but ... " Shino sighed as she pocketed the digivice. "Let's just say I am eager to solve the bigger mysteries here. But either way I came to explore the digital world. This really is my first time here. Vector was supposed to be my guide... till the little moron blew himself up with a 'Souvenir Grenade'"
The Missimon continued to make annoying buzzing sounds, swirling around them in an angry tone to try and communicate angrily. Needless to say, he didn't like the comment. If Desmond were to hear him, he would get why this was better.
"As for coming here, yeah I figured out the random location thing on my own. Anyway we should have this conversation somewhere a bit safer. If my calculations from before were right... there should be a safe place..." She stopped as she saw something up north of them.
Up ahead they could see blue-- shimmering light. As the air finally gave way to pass.. they would see it. The oasis that existed in the center of the desert. Though it was hard to see from the distance, they could easily reach there. "Let's get to the oasis, then you can ask me whatever you want... within reason of course..." she said as she headed for the Oasis.
Her Missimon quickly followed, flying circles over her head eagerly.

Desmond's left eyebrow lift up sightly. "A souvenir grenade?" He wasn't sure what that meant. He knew that any phrases with the word grenade were usually not good. He followed at the Missimon swirling around with his eyes without showing much emotion. While it seemed that he could only speak with buzzes, he surely didn't seem to like that. There was a hint of certain anger in that buzzing. He then heard the DemiMeramon giggle upon hearing Shino calling her partner a little moron. The blond tamer looked down at his partner that was trying to hide that he was laughing. It was hard to not laugh with him and thus, Desmond chuckled a bit but tried to hide it. "Not the best place to be." He would say after scratching his chin. "For your first time, I mean." There wasn't a lot around here but sand. And unlike her, he could make a portal back to the real world at any time.
When Shino told him that she would prefer talking in a safer place, Desmond nodded. He saw her look to the north and his eyes did so as well. It was hard to see but he too could see something. Maybe a tree? He knew that there was at least one oasis but he did not expect to be that close to one. The blond would let Shino go first and follow her few feet behind. Demi would happily float between the two humans while humming to himself. Desmond would stay silent until they would be at the oasis. There were a single tropical tree and a pond of water that looked very clear. The tree was just big enough to cast a shadow large enough for two people. Desmond pointed to the tree without saying anything. Surely, the girl knew that it meant that he wanted her to get next to the tree before him.
The Frenchman would stay in the sun for a bit longer before going to sit down in the shadow. Demi was just a meter away looking at his reflection. The fireball would poke the water and giggle as the water moved. He remembered that his tamer told him to not drink too much water or jump into it. But poking water was fun to him. He would put his finger into the water once more and saw a bit of steam rise making him laugh. "Demi." The DemiMeramon quickly spun on himself to look at Desmond. "Be careful, okay?" He said in a fatherly tone. Demi just nodded before going back to poking the water.
The tamer would wait for a bit longer before turning his attention to Shino. "So..." Pausing for a second to clear his voice. "I don't think that you told me how you got here?" He wasn't sure if she did or not. "Demi erm... Came into my home in some kind of way..." He still wasn't sure what happened to be honest. "The first thing I saw him do was trying to eat my cellphone." He chuckled a bit saying that. "We had a strange conversation. After a while, it seemed that he was just very hungry." Pausing once more to look at his little partner who was now making funny faces at his reflection. "One day, he was watching a movie via Netflix. The movie ended and I went to pick another one for him and when I clicked, we ended up in here. I don't remember precisely what happened after. It was a while ago." He felt that it would be fair for her to tell her a bit of his story before asking for hers.
"So, got a funny story on how you landed in here?"

Though the air was dry, the comfort of shade and the water nearby was a welcome reprieve from the desert as Shino sat down at the edge of the shade near the water's edge. A sigh escaped her as she freely picked up her cantine and took a sip. She would of taken a second... till Vector buzzed up in front of her. He was eagerly trying to message her for some water. At first, she didn't get why till she saw his little rockets smoldering heat. Even a machine had to keep cool.
"Alright, alright... just try to take it easy," she said to him as she freely poured some water over him like a bath, to cool the hot metal's temperature of his booster thrusters. She didn't get how an in-training Digimon could be.
As her new acquaintance, Desmond arrived, she soon replied to him regarding the souvenir grenade. She frowned in embarrassment. "Don't ask. It's just a term used in FPS games..." she said, "Yeah, but this is our first dive. Vector knew a little about the Digital World but not everything. It's confusing. Plus his personality makes things... difficult," she admitted.
Vector, or Missimon, hovered over the water while Demi continued to poke it. It was odd, but the two could make an adorable pair for a flame and machine Digimon. Still, even Shino knew that Vector would soon recover. At least for the moment, he was giving her a moment's peace.
As she rested, Desmond asked how she got there, and how she met her digimon. Her brow furrowed as she rested her back against the single tree with her arms behind her head. "Well it's a bit of a story... A lot of this happened in the real world. " she explained. "Vector tried to hack my computer from a FPSMMO I was playing. When I counter-hacked him, the power surge forced him out of the network. When that happened, he emerged in our world and he lost all his memory of his life before meeting me. We been keeping to the real world up till now, but we had reason to figure if we came here we can find some clues about his origin. Anyway, this was kind of an impulse move but hopefully we can return back from anywhere we find a link back to our world. Besides, my Digivice is unusually different for some reason... " she explained.

Desmond carefully listened to her tale while looking at her. He has never been good with videogames so that could be why he didn't understand the term of souvenir grenade. He knew what an FPS was but that was pretty much all he knew. He lowered his head for a moment and then looked up at the sky. "Well, I guess you two made a bond already. Having given him a name." When they first met, Desmond always called Demi by its species name. And then when they went to the real world, he shortening it to Demi when he was in his holosuit to avoid people asking why he called him like that. "That's good, very good." As he continued telling how Vector and she met, she mentioned the word hacking. Again, he wasn't exactly sure what hacking is but he didn't ask for clarification.
"Well, if you need a way back home, I can open a gate for you." The Frenchman softly said. "You will be back to Shibuya, safely." His attention then moved to the two Digimon. Demi was still poking the water while laughing. It was endearing seeing how he would act like a genuine child. He wasn't sure what kind of personality Vector has but maybe he will find soon enough. "I've been traveling back and forth from the real and digital world for a bit now." He said as he scratched the back fo his head. "There is so much I don't understand so don't feel bad if you are confused by all of this." It seemed that he would always learn something new each time he gets here, in the Digiworld.
"I hope that he gets his memory back." Desmond then said as he looked at the Missimon. He just stayed silent for a few seconds before speaking once more. "Hopefully, they are good memories of the past." If Demi were to lose his memories, he wasn't sure how he would feel. Maybe a bit lost, they have been through so many events and he would hate to have him forgot all of that. "And if we are lucky, he might find a way to talk to us with more than those buzzing noise." And he laughed a bit as his eyes moved to look at Shino. "I'm sure he would love to have a voice as well."
Desmond would then stand up and stretch his legs. He looked at the DemiMeramon that was now splashing water at Vector. "Demi, be nice." He simply said but that didn't stop the fireball. The blond tamer sighed, he couldn't get mad at him. "Demi." Still, no answer from the Digimon. "Demi." This time, he stopped moving for a second before turning his attention to his tamer with wide puppy eyes. "Don't do that." He wasn't entirely sure if Vector liked that but he was going with the safe route. Demi looked down for a moment prompting Desmond to sigh again. "Don't be sad. I'm not mad at you." And that was all he needed to hear. The fireball nodded quickly and went toward him to give him a hug.
The blond tamer crouched down to hug his partner and then stand up while carrying the little Digimon in his arms. "So Shino, what do you want to do before going back home?" He still wasn't sure what she wanted to accomplish. Perhaps she wanted Vector to regain his memories. "Got any plans in mind?"

Shino kept a neutral face but frowned a bit. In truth, despite all her complaining and irritation from that little metallic weirdo, was that she really did care about him. He had no memory of his past. Despite his carefree persona and even crass-comical attitude, she did want to see him live a happy life. He depended on her. A feeling she had yet to have up till now. "Yeah... I hope so too. I can't tell what he was doing in the network but I don't know.. In a way, maybe in this case ignorance is bliss for him..." she mused aloud, trying not to think about it. Still, anyone would want to recover the memories of their past they lost. It was only natural.
However, when the blonde mentioned having him restore his voice once more... a cringe appeared on Shino's face. "I'm telling you... you will regret that. The real trick is to get him to shut up..." she said with a sigh, cringing at the memory of the things that foul-mouthed lizard would say.
It was soon seen that Demi and Vector were rough-housing around the water's surface. Things were harmless and Vector didn't mind the water... till one big splash from Demi caused him to dive down, his rockets cut short and he hit the water with a splash.
Shino sat up in concern to see Vector doused, as Missimon, with little arms and wet rockets that meant no way to fly. However, a small light glowed under the water... followed by a few beeps from her Digivice in her pocket. The surface of the water bubbled for a moment... then splashed as something larger emerged.
"I'm BACK, BABY!! WHOO!" Vector cried, now a full-formed Commandramon again. "Back in my beautiful hard-metal body!"
Needless to say it was very odd to see a tiny monster go in and emerge as a talking cybernetic dinosaur with pixilated skin, metal armor and a rifle on his backpack. Shino looked at Vector emerge-- now a clear name why she named the little gun-toeing dinosaur as Vector. "Becareful what you wish for..." she warned her new friend as the dinosaur hopped out of the water and approached them.
"Private Commandramon, ready and able-- ma'am!" the Commandramon said with a salute to Shino. However, the moment Commandramon saw Desmond, a glint formed in his eye. "And before I report--" CLICK! Commandramon pointed the barrel of his gun right at Desmond, no doubt startling both Demi and the older guy. "-- Soo you thought you ride through the desert and try to sweep Shino-chi off her feet, hm? So tell me four-eyes, you feeling lucky?"
Shino was torn between mortified and humiliated as she sighed... "Vector... stand down. Now." she said firmly.
Vector lowered his rifle, but still gave the blonde a dirty look. "Alright fine... but I got my sniper-eye on you bucco!" he said.
Shino just looked at Desmond and Demi, wondering if they regretted their wish to let him talk now. Still to show some compassion, Shino reached up and held Demi in her arms, trying to ease the now rattled fire Digimon-- surprised how warm and soft he was.

Upon seeing the Missimon dive into the water, Demi quickly pointed it to his tamer. "Vector fell down!" He shouted out loud. Desmond didn't lose any seconds and rushed toward the water hoping that he could get him out of there. The DemiMeramon jumped off his arms and went to see Shino and hide behind her. He did want to help but Desmond always told him to not get too close to any kind of source of water. Thus, he got out of the way and hide behind her legs. He covered one of his eyes and the open slightly open. "Is he going to be okay?" He half-whispered to the girl. The blond tamer didn't even have time and get his arms into the water to grab Vector as the Digimon came out of it in a whole new form.
Desmond tried to stand up but the sudden appearance from the Commandramon made him trip and fall on his back. "Uff..." He wasn't expecting that at all. He blinked a few times and saw that the Digimon had a gun on him. He never had any firearm training nor even tried using one so he was a bit uneasy about that. Even Demi moved in surprise as he hid his eyes. The loud voice of Vector made him a bit scared for a moment. The Frenchman managed to awkwardly stand up and wipe the sand off his jeans before looking at Shino who didn't look surprised at all. Demi was also loud now and then but the Commandramon? He was really loud. None the less, Desmond just made one step to the left and heard Vector shouting something that he did not fully understand as he was not paying attention to him.
But then, a click was heard and Desmond froze and slowly lifted his hands in the air. He wasn't facing Vector when he began saying stuff about trying to make a move on Shino and trying to insult him by calling him four-eyes. His eyes slowly moved to look at Shino and then Demi who was still hiding behind the girl tamer. His face was expressionless as the rest of the body was motionless. He began counting in his head to clear his mind. It was a little trick that his father thought him. The DemiMeramon didn't like seeing his tamer like that but he also didn't want to start a fight. "Shino..." He began whispering. "Do something..."
It only took a few words from Shino to make Vector lower his gun. The blond tamer stood like a statue for a bit longer. As his eyes scanned the girl and then his partner, he would wait for either of them to tell him that it was now okay to move. After a second, Demi started nodding to signal him that he wasn't in danger anymore. A long sigh came out of Desmond as he lowered his hands and turned to one side and look at Vector clearly not impressed at all. While the Digimon gave him the dirty look, Desmond gave him a rather dark one. He stayed silent for a moment, just staring at him and his rifle.
Shino then took Demi into her arms and the little fireball went to hide his face into her torso. "Is it over?" He whispered to Shino. "Can it be over now?" It was very easy to see that he was not comfortable with the tension in the air at all. His body was shaking a bit. On his side, Desmond as still staring at Vector without saying a word. It would take a few more seconds before he opened his mouth to speak. "Do. Not. Point. That. Thing. At. Us." And he paused to make sure that he was listening carefully to his words. "Ever."

Shino's face would of flushed red in embarrassment if the desert wasn't so hot. Not only did Vector once again open a can of worms, but he also just had to pick a fight with their new tamer acquaintance and scare the little flame. As he hid for comfort, Shino rose up to her feet as Desmond scolded Vector. The mechanical dinosaur was about to snap back-- till she stepped in.
"Please pardon, Vector. He is not nearly as scary as he looks. " she explained as she got in between them. "He is kind of like a dog-- his bark is worse than his bite."
"Hey!" Vector squeaked, looking up at his tamer.
"But yeah, he just is a little overly protective... " she explained as Demi slowly rose up with the tension breaking. "I did try to warn you that he has a bit of a mouth on him."
Despite Vector no longer considering Desmond a threat, he still began to mock him by making little faces at him while behind Shino's back. At least... till she glanced behind to only see him whistle.
"Let's just say when it came to Digimon, he broke the mold. Which I am partly at fault of, I think..." she explained.
"Hey! Breaking the mold is a good thing. You can bet there is no Digimon as great as me, right? " he said proudly, his chest out as if he was being praised.
Shino frowned. "Take it however you like, smart-ass," she replied and tried to ease the air. "Anyway, we came here to try and jog Vector's memory-- but no dice and a lot of sand up my back. "
It was then there was a little sparkle in the Commandramon's eye as he looked to his partner."If you wanna jump into the water, I could help scrub your back and get it off. " he replied with a chipper tone.
That was the last straw for her as she didn't hesitate to raise a fist and bonked Commandramon on the head lightly. "Nice try, but no way."
Needless to say it was clear that this Commandramon and Shino had an unusual partnership.

Desmond was still bitter about Vector pointing his rifle at him. It might take a while before he could forget that. However, he wasn't someone who hold grudges so he would forgive the Commandramon sooner or later. Demi saw that his tamer was maybe a bit mad. The human's expression was neutral if a bit cold and Demi could see that. He floated to be next to him and tug on his pants to get his attention. "Desmond." He timidly said his name. "Are you okay?" He then whispered. The Frenchman looked down and crouched before smiling at his partner. "It's okay, Demi. No need to worry, alright?" The Digimon nodded and hugged his tamer for a second before smiling as well.
The blond tamer was about to say something to Shino when a certain sound caught his attention. It was a very subtle noise but he was sure that he heard something. He looked around him for a moment before turning his attention back to the girl. "We should get moving in that case..." Desmond stopped speaking and tilted his head on the left to look behind Shino. He didn't say anything at first, simply squinting his eyes like he was trying to find something. He would stay silent for a second before opening his mouth once more. "We won't find anything here so..." And he stopped again.
"What are you looking at?" Demi would ask while trying to look behind Shino but he was too small to see anything. Desmond did not answer right away, he just lifted his hand slowly to shield his eyes. "There something moving..." He then said while pointing at Shino's left side. "It looks like..." The blond tamer then rushed toward the girl and as he got close enough, he grabbed her by the waist and lifted her off the ground and jumped to the side landing on the sand. It was then that a club, or a giant bone, came flying toward them and hit the sand almost hitting Demi in the process. "Aaaaaaaah!" The fireball threw his arms into the air and began floating toward Vector.
"Are you okay?" Desmond quickly asked as he released Shino and stood up. He would help her stand up as well if she would need it and then look at where the club came from. A large ochre-colored shape could be seen sprinting at them with another club in his hand. For someone of his size, he was pretty swift on his feet. He was swinging his club in a small circular movement above his head. His mouth was while open and his eyes were filled with rage. "What do we have here!" He shouted as he got closer. "This is my oasis!" The Fugamon said out loud.
The Frenchman went to grab his Digivice but didn't take it out of his pockets. "Calm down, we were leaving." He said trying not to sound afraid. The wild Digimon went ahead and grab back the other club he threw and now had two of them. "No, you trespassed!" His voice was loud and booming. "Give me everything you got! Or I will eat you, all of you!"
Demi would slowly get away from the Commandramon and go toward his tamer. "Desmond." He whispered as he was scared that the big ugly ogre would hear him. "What do we do?" The blond tamer didn't answer right away instead choosing to take out the Digivice. "We got nothing on us, just let us leave and..."
"No! You will be my meal then!" The Fugamon shouted before Desmond could finish his sentence. A heavy sigh came out of the Frenchman's mouth. "We do not want to fight you..." He said with his voice getting lower. He turned his head just a bit to look at Shino. "Stay behind me." He simply said before going back to looking at the ugly one. "Demi..." The fireball knew what he was going to say next. "Digivolve." The child Digimon nodded and got in front of the two tamers and a beam of light came out of the green device and engulfed Demi in a ball of light. The light then disappeared and a MetalMeramon was now standing tall and stoic. "I do not want to fight you." Desmond spoke to the Fugamon with a stern voice. "Just let us leave and we'll go quietly."
The Fugamon laughed out loud. "Stupid human. Do you think that you are scaring me? Ha! I faced way bigger than you!" He hit the ground with both clubs sending sand into the air. "Come at me!"

It happened very fast for Shino as she was just trying to not let anything get under her skin no more than Vector did when they mentioned something in the distance. Before she could turn around, Desmond grabbed Shino and threw her to the ground to protect her from the incoming assault.
Vector, seeing the attack hit Demi-- quickly raised his paws and caught the flame as if he was a volley ball. "The heck?! What just--- *GASP*!!" Vector stopped as he saw it.
Desmond on the ground with Shino beneath him. "I KNEW IT!!! Blondie is gonna get a taste of metal when I'm done with him!" the Commandramon fumed, more annoyed at the pounce on Shino than the attack for the moment.
Shino felt bothered being thrown but knew it was from the attack. Grumpy, her pride more brused, she looked up and took his hand. "Yeah, I'm okay..." she grumbled as she rose up and looked.
The digimon who appeared was a large Fugamon, who looked like a muddy troll with a gaping maw and a wicked club. He clearly looked like a savage and it only got worse when he demanded for their possessions. "A digital highwayman? Is he serious?" Shino asked, feeling the situation grow worse. The little fireball seemed frightened as Vector came up and hid behind Shino for the moment.
The little fireball soon suddenly, at his partner's command, became a massive creature of fire. A humanoid creature with a metallic mask and a flaming head. Shino was amazed. Despite her time thus far, she had yet to make Commandramon evolve. She clearly felt underwhelmed to face an enemy like this...
... however--
"WAIT!!" Vector shouted, stopping the taunt. "I got something for you!"
The Fugamon stopped and looked as Vector waddled up right to him. The ugly ogre looked down at the gun-toeing Digimon as he had something in his claw. "This is for you. I promise, you won't be disappointed." he said with a beaming smile.
"The hell... what is he do-- oh no," Shino sighed, realizing what would happen.
Fugamon snatched up the object-- being a round metallic object. "And what is this thing?" he asked.
"A yummy, funny treat! Just push the little button at the top there," Vector said as he watched. The Fugamon put down his club and reached to push the button. He soon pushed it, causing it to begin to flash red--
-- and Vector took off running.
"PRESENT GRENADE!!" he cried and ran to Desmond and Shino-- pulling htem behind the big MetalMeramon.
Fugamon just watched in interest as the blinking light flashed faster and faster then...
POOF!!
The grenade detonated-- but soon only released a burst of confette around Fukamon, coveringg his body in cheap party streamers and glitter that stuck to his body. He blinked dumbly, both stupified and annoyed. Slowly his shoulder shook as he dropped the remains of the grenade.
"Vector...!" Shino said in an annoyed tone, knowing very well the Grenades he used were bugged and were only 50% effective.
"What? He said 'give it to him', right?" he replied.
Fugamon began to tremble and he grabbed his club once more. "YA DUMD METAL DINO!! I'M GONNA PICK YOU OUT OF MY TEETH!"
However... the Present Grenade gave a golden opportunity for Demi-- to deliver the first hit.
