Justice watched with surprise and shock as Bero suddenly grabbed his partner and threw him at the truck with such speed. The impact at which caused Gummy to smash through the back door, caused the burger truck to suddenly come to a complete stop. Despite the method being little bit unorthodox, Justice couldn't deny its results.
Approaching the truck to check if Gummy was ok, he and Vee were greeted by one of the other Burgermon, who whipped out a sign to use as a weapon, beckoning the two to come at him. This made Justice tilt his head in confusion, pondering if he was going to fight them with an advertisement sign. Nonetheless, he decided to play along, letting out a sudden gasp, alerting the ExVeemon right besides him.
"Oh no a sign," Justice exclaimed, going to the ground and clutching his heart. "My weakness; it's poorly constructed advertising sign. Big letters... forcing me to...purchase shit-ass products. Damn you Burgerman-mon-thing!" He then flopped to the ground, with his tongue sticking out, seemly dead.
Seeing what his partner was doing, Vee crotch down and picked up Justice with his hands, snickering a little before playing it up. "NOOOO!! MY PARTNER! DANG YOU BURGERMON! DANG YOU TO HECK!" He lowered his head, the two were in a pose akin to something out of Romeo & Juliet.
After a few seconds, and if the Burgermon were to respond, the two couldn't hold back their laughter and longer, and Vee sat down with a loud thump. "HAHAHA! Oh man, you should see the look on your face!"
"Oh I'm so sorry," Justice interjected, chuckling. "I just had to do that, because trying to fight someone who's about as tall as a house is so goddamn pathetic!"
Him and Vee continued to snicker for bit before getting back up to confront the Burgermon, seemingly not wanting to fight him. "Look dude, your truck broke down thanks to my other Digimon, and you're outnumbered. So just give it up, get your boss out, and I promise you all walk out of here unharmed."
Suddenly, Bero ran in front of the two at high speeds, catching them off-guard for a moment. He dug his claws into the truck and slowly started to lift it up overhead. Items like ketchup and mustard bottles, boxes of frozen patties, and other condiments started to spill out of the hole made earlier into the streets. Out of those items came a familiar Gumdramon, who rolled out into the pavement, and flopped to his back.
Justice quickly went to pick his partner up, who was a bit starry-eyed from the impact still. He turned to the ExVeemon. "You know for a brick, he flew pretty good."
"Yeah but, shouldn't we stop Bero before he hurts the Digimon in charge of this burger joint?" Vee replied.
Justice turned to Dark Lizardmon, analyzing the crazed expression on his face before turning to Vee. "Ehh, they'll be fine. But get the Shortmon boss just in case. I still want to interrogate him."
The ExVeemon nodded, and went up to the front of the lifted truck, smashed the driver's mirror, and attempted to grabbed the Shortmon who concocting something with the second Shortmon. Justice continued to watch the Burgermon, summoning his digital baton again just in case he tried anything funny. Combat Log: Fire Vortex: One-cooldown remains.

The Burgermon didn't seem moved by Justice and Vee's messing around. He stared at them for a second, nonplussed, before lowering his sunglasses down his nose to get a closer look at them. His expression didn't change during any bit of their little act, whether during their shenanigans or during their threat. At the mention of giving up he rested a hand on his chin, humming in consideration, before shaking his head vigorously. He gave the sign a fast spin, then chucked it at Vee with all of the force he could muster up.
This confidence didn't last for too long. Burgermon lost his footing as Bero hefted the truck up, forcing him to fling his arms out to keep his balance. While the cool, collected look on his face never faded, the uneasy sway to his hips and occasional windmilling of his arms threw the image off. This instability only got worse the higher Bero lifted. If he decided to give the truck a full-on suplex, the Burgermon would likely end up flying away!
For now, though, Justice and Vee had work to do. The duo had left Burgermon behind, going to the driver's seat of the car to interrogate the two Shortmon. By the time they reached the window, however, they wouldn't see Shortmon inside of the car. Instead they would see a glowing nexus of digital energy, glowing brighter with each passing second. Once Vee had gotten close the nexus exploded outward, shaping into what looked like a many-layered cake.
Bero's lifting would get a lot harder, because now a massive ReverseWeddinmon was weighing the Beelzeburger Truck down. It rose from the window as if it had come fresh out of the oven, letting out a gurgling laugh. Frosting dribbled down from its gaping mouth, and hot wax rolled down its forehead. As soon as it emerged it peered down at Bero and Vee, wide eyes slowly narrowing in comprehension. It then started to swing its arms around, its forklike hands spinning like drills as it flailed. Vee and Bero would be right in the line of fire: with how long the cake's arms were, would they be able to escape? Or would they push through the pain to try and finish decimating the truck?
Combat Log: Shortmon and Shortmon Boss have DNA Digivolved into ReverseWeddinmon! The colossus immediately kicks into gear, windmilling at Bero and Vee with its large, forked arms. Gonna Fork You Up - ReverseWeddinmon windmills its arms, hitting any targets trying to approach the Beelzeburger Truck from the side with its wild flailing.

Bero was lifting the truck with all his force, preparing the suplex, but he felt a sudden increase in weight in the front of the truck, as a heavy form created itself there. The long wedding-cake like form windmilled it’s arms in the general area of the two champions, threatening to attack them. Bero’s Suplex was going to be harder than ever to complete, so he had half a mind to just try something else. Sadly, that half a mind wasn’t enough to get through to his thick skull of pure rage. He continued trying to lift the truck overhead, blows hitting his body and the flames on his whole body flickering. He still wanted to see this truck bashed and broken, so he put all his anger into lifting it over his body so he could crash it down into the ground. To him, it didn’t matter if he was just human-sized instead of two stories tall or even taller. This truck was going down. He furiously yelled out as he started putting his back into it, all his anger focusing into his momentum to attempt to throw the truck over himself, raging through the attacks made to his body with the cakelike arms. “GGRAAAAAAAAHHH” Bero continues lifting the truck. Bero takes ReverseWeddinmon’s “Gonna Fork You Up” directly to the body! Bero takes some good damage, but has some serious issues caring. Bero uses the stacks of Basics Mastery he got at the start of the turn with the stacks he had built up! Using 12 stacks makes the attempted suplex have the combined power of 3 moves with a 0-post cooldown. Stacks used = 12 Stacks gained normally = 4 Additional stacks gained from passives = 0 New total Stacks of “Basics Mastery” = 3 Passives: Superior Technique[RAM upgrade GIGA] Combat Passive - Bero’s incredible technique lets him improvise his attacks and abilities, using his natural weapons and traits of his body’s code to great effectiveness. Bero starts each combat with 5 stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’ and every round he is in combat he gains 2 more stacks. He can hold a maximum of 15 stacks. Using 5 stacks allows him to empower one basic attack to deal damage equal to a named attack with a 1-turn cooldown. This attack counts as Bero’s named attack (or one of his named attacks, incase he’s 1 vs twins) for the post it is used. Other passives may give him more stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’ or methods to use it.
Holy limiter Combat Passive - Due to his “Helmet of Virtues”, if Bero would be subject to an attack or an effect due to any of his attributes, families or types, the most convenient is always selected. If Bero’s attacks would be subjected to a defensive effect due to any of his attributes, families or types, the most convenient is always selected. Attribute: Virus, Vaccine. Family: Nightmare Soldier, Virus Buster. Type: Evil Dragon, Angel.
However, Bero cannot use any fire control or fire abilities.
Anger Management Combat Passive - Bero’s own powerlessness at the hands of his holy limiter infuriates him. He can channel his anger into empowering his Superior Technique passive. Every turn he is in combat he gains 2 extra stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’. Outside of the usual way to expend it, he may also use 4 stacks to empower one basic attack to deal damage equal to a named attack with a 0-turn cooldown. He may use multiple of these in a turn, but may not combine them with other methods of attacking with Superior Technique. When fighting twins or otherwise allowed to make an extra named ability, he gains 2 extra stacks of “Basics Mastery” every turn. If he were to use a named active ability via any means (given by cards or plot conditions) he loses all stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’ and does not gain any stacks this post.
Enough Chains!! Combat Passive - Bero’s already infuriated enough his powers are limited! Chaining him down, restricting him, limiting his actions or pushing him away from combat by some obvious or recognizable means (forcefields, chains, pushing away with wind, etc.) has reduced effectiveness on him, allowing him to resist 50% of the effects of such abilities. Every time he is targeted by an attempted restriction, he gains 1 stack of ‘Basics Mastery’.
Pyrobiology Combat Passive - Bero’s Fiery body works somewhat differently than other bodies. Despite having an actual body of sorts underneath his flames, His body acts as one mass of flames. Because of this, it is not possible to strike any ‘weakspots’ that Bero has. Because of this, Bero is immune to wound-based status effects, like damaging a leg or wounding an arm to hold him back. Any damage dealt to him is dealt to him as a whole instead of any parts. Fire attacks will damage him as normal due to the different nature of his fire body, and hitting him with fire actually angers him, giving him 1 stack of ‘Basics Mastery’.
Black Phoenix Resurgence Combat Passive - When critically hurt but not outright defeated, Bero gains a heal over time that heals him for 15% of his health every turn for 3 turns. This effect cannot trigger until after this healing over time has ended. When it has ended, the power of this passive is reduced by a stage and it can trigger again. Each reduced stage of effectiveness decreases the power of the heal by half it’s previous stage. The reduced effect remains for the entirety of the thread. Every time the Heal over time is started from taking damage, Bero gains 1 stack of ‘Basics Mastery’. If he is defeated while the heal is active, the heal is canceled instantly.
Powerless Anger Combat Passive - When shown up in power, by either seeing stronger moves he cannot perform or people using moves via means like cards, Bero’s anger manifests in more power. Whenever anyone, Allies or Enemies, use a move with 2 posts or more cooldown, Bero gains 1 stack of Basics Mastery. Whenever anyone uses a move via a Card or Artifact, Bero gains 1 stack of basics Mastery. Active moves: Nope.

Vee barely reacted when the Burgermon threw the sign at his face, only giving a poker face in response. He turned to Justice, who only shrugged in response, before turning their attention to Bero, who was about to smash the truck over. Justice told Vee to at least get the Shortmon boss so they can find out what they were planning by making other Digimon into Burpmon with whatever their putting into their food. Vee then went to the front of the truck, smashed the mirror to get the Shortmon. However, what the ExVeemon saw inside the truck was a blinding light of digital energy. Before he could react, the nexus of energy exploded into a shockwave, sending the dragon Digimon back a couple of spaces. Justice, carrying the dizzy Gummy raced towards his Digimon to see if he was alright, only to freeze in pace as to what just appeared from the truck. "Holy crap." Justice was less than eloquent; he was somewhat in disbelief to what he was seeing. The Digimon that appeared was a massive, cake-like creature around two to three stories tall. White and pink frosting dripped down from its body and mouth every time it moved. It’s limbs were small cakes with forks sticking out, almost like if a child decorated it or something. It was, for lack of a better word, revolting to look at. Justice’s D-Watch activated, a small holographic screen forming slightly in front of him. “Reverse Weddinmon, a champion level Cake Digimon. It is a Digi-Xros between two Shortmon. With its odd structured arms, he can blast his opponents away by sending small explosions with an attack called Crazy Cracker.”“Sounds to me what we gotta do put this cake in the oven,” Vee commented, cracking his fists together. Suddenly, the large cake Digimon would attack, hitting Vee head on and sending him flying back down the street. Using his wings, he recovered just in time before he would hit any of the nearby buildings. “You alright Vee?” Justice shouted, rushing to him so he can get in a safe distance. “Yeah...I’m fine,” the ExVeemon replied. “This guy can really pack a punch.”“Yeah, with a long reach like, it’s best to stick to long distance, unless…”Justice’s attention shifted to Bero, who despite the size of the Reverse Weddinmon, was still trying to lift the truck overhead. This gave Justice an idea. “Vee, try and see if you could fly to the other side of that thing and tackle the truck as hard as you can. If we can’t attack it head-on, we can try and expose its blind spot,” Justice explained. Suddenly, Justice felt a fist hit his shoulder. He looked down and saw that Gummy was no longer daze, with a fiery glare in his eyes. “Not without me you aren’t!”Justice smirked. He raised his D-Watch nonchalantly. The device burst into spastic orange light that enveloped Gummy just as he got back on he feet, his claws drawn and teeth grit. His eyes started to glow. “Gumdramon, digivolve to… Arresterdramon!”Wasting no time, Vee leaped and took flight. Flying high over Reverse Weddinmon, he rushed towards the truck, his arm being enveloped by an orange aura, as he extends it. As it stood, the Dark Lizardmon had no chance in suplexing the truck by himself, let alone fighting the giant cake Digimon. But lucky for him, he had help. Combat Log:- Vee is struck dead-on by Reverse Weddinmon’s attack.-Gummy digivolves to Arresterdramon.- Vee attacks Reverse Weddinmon with Hearty Shatter, attempting to tilt the truck as hard as he can so Bero can suplex the truck the Reverse Weddinmon is on.Hearty Shatter - Flies up to a reasonable distance and charges at the opponent, striking them with a powerful Lariat, so powerful that it will create a crater 10 meters in radius. AOE effect, minor splash damage for an extra 5 meters Three-post cooldown.

ReverseWeddinmon laughed as he continued windmilling his arms. To the amalgamated cake monster, it was the perfect offense and defense all in one. Nobody could approach closely with him controlling so much space, and any who tried would be cut down where they stood. Even the flaming Digimon that kept clinging onto the car was being slashed time after time. In this war of attrition, Bero would surely be the first to fall! All he needed were a more critical strikes . . .
Unfortunately, ReverseWeddinmon wouldn't be given such an opportunity unchallenged. The ExVeemon he had slapped away earlier came back with a vengeance, smashing the Beelzeburger Truck with enough force to destabilize it. Immediately ReverseWeddinmon began to sway back and forth. His naturally top-heavy design demonstrated its natural weaknesses, making it nigh-impossible for him to keep his balance on such an unstable truck. Soon his flailing was less to attack and more to stay upright, all while the cake tried in vain to straighten its center of gravity.
Big mistake. That just meant once Bero got the truck up in the air, a suplex would be inevitable. In a vicious burst of strength Bero sent the truck over his head, the sign-spinning Burgermon flying away from the output force. The truck lingered in the air for a precious second, then landed behind Bero in a beautiful arc. The mass of metal landed right on ReverseWeddinmon, pinning it down, and the truck's engine exploded right in its face. Were it not for the Beelzemon head still smugly bobbling away, the truck would look nigh-unrecognizable at this point.
ReverseWeddinmon clawed at the ground with its forked hands, trying to get its bearings, before finally pushing the truck away from it. Its face was smooshed and singed, but if anything it just looked more pissed off. It narrowed its eyes at Bero and Vee, then launched its cake-like arms in a sweeping, hug-like motion. It was trying to grapple onto them, whether with the force of its grip or a direct fork impalement. As it did so its mouth contorted into a vicious sneer, tongues of flame faintly visible behind its lips.
Whether its grapple succeeded or not, ReverseWeddinmon's mouth would spread wide, flame spilling forth in powerful gouts. The force of this flaming breath would ideally sear its targets, but more importantly it would send the Beelzeburger Truck skipping down the streets of Terminus City like a rock thrown in a stream. Even as each bounce dented and damaged it further, ReverseWeddinmon seemed fixated on getting away from its aggressors through any means possible.
Combat Log: The Hearty Shatter sends the truck tipping, and with this help Bero's Suplex succeeds! The whole mess comes down heavily against ReverseWeddinmon's body, causing serious damage. The Burgermon driver, too, is sent flying. ReverseWeddinmon lunges to grapple its opponents. Its mouth then gapes open, kicking up a burst of flame strong enough to send the ruined remains of the Beelzeburger Truck flying. It seems he's trying to take everyone for a ride! 350 Degrees Farenheit - ReverseWeddinmon spews flame from his mouth, using enough force to send the Beelzeburger Truck hurtling through the streets. Along with the fire damage, speeds the Beelzeburger Truck by a drastic amount at the expense of all control.

Seeing the Suplex was a success, Bero’s eyes finally cleared a little of their infuriated glaze. Although he was far from his full mental capacity, the rush of anger was no longer making him see red and red alone. His fury was now coupled with the more intelligible combat-practiced mind behind it. “Alright, you dumb cake, time to end your sugar rush and beat your sugar tush!” He yowled, heavy tone despite his small size for a champion. His small size may be his largest weakness and greatest advantage here. Mostly because it did not seem to impair his physical strength as much as he so desired. He didn’t so much evade the grapple as return it, grunting as his fire and flames of his body flickered. He had been hit a few times well over enough that his stamina was starting to run low! But he couldn’t stop quite yet! He gripped one of the ReverseWeddinmon’s arms, holding onto it. When the ReverseWeddinmon followed it up with great fire coming from his mouth, Bero at first, swore. “You Fragged der-”And fwoosh came the flames, washing over his black fire and his helmet. The helmet on Bero’s face glowed, but not with intense heat, no, with his own energy as everything here served to intensify his anger once more. He tried yelling through the Fire. “RUN HIM INTO THE BUILDING!”ReverseWeddinmon wouldn’t be doing himself much of a favor if his firebreath was only running him through a building. Naturally, Bero wasn’t doing himself much of a favor by staying in the Fire. he planted his feet as firmly as he could into the ground, and used the grip he had on ReverseWeddinmon’s arm to try and turn the truck and the cake so that the fire would push them into a building! Two large, black fiery wings erupted from Bero’s back, as his weakening flames suddenly started surging and pressing out against the fire breath around him. He was near his limit, but some phoenix like energy attempted to heal him through the fire and flames. His anger made newfound strength, and he used that newfound strength to try and empower his throw into the side of the building! Vee’s Hearty Shatter gives Bero 1 stack of “Basics Mastery”, via Bero’s Powerless Anger.Bero revels in the suplex success! Bero regains a -little- bit of his sanity. Bero Grabs one of ReverseWeddinmon’s arms when ReverseWeddinmon attempts to grapple him. Bero takes ReverseWeddinmon’s “350 Degrees Farenheit” directly to the body! Bero’s health goes low enough that Black Phoenix Resurgence Activates! He slowly starts healing, but he won’t survive the fire for much longer! He gains 1 stack of Basics Mastery from Black Phoenix Resurgence, and another stack from being hit by a fire attack due to PyrobiologyBero uses the stacks of Basics Mastery he got! Thanks to Vee's support, Bero was finally able to lift the burger truck overhead--along with Reverse Weddinmon who was on top of it-- and slammed it to the ground as hard as he could, pinning the cake Digimon down in the process. To add even further insult to injury, the unstable engine blew up on their opponent's face, making Justice smirk a little.
However that didn't mean everything was going their way since they got one lucky hit. Reverse Weddinmon recovered, pushing the truck off it, and displayed a serious look. It lunged its massive forked hands at Vee and Bero, attemepting to put them in a bear hug. Vee managed to get out of its range by simply flying a few steps back, right where his Tamer and his newly digivolved brother was at.
Bero for some reason, decided to endure the attack, struggling to overpower their opponent as it started to breathe flames into his direction. Despite that, the Dark Lizardmon used his grip and made the flame breathe Digimon go into a nearby building. Collateral damage was risky, seeing that this is a major city. But seeing that Reverse Weddinmon was a threat to Terminus City as a whole due to its massive size, it was necessary liability. Besides, that's what repairs are for.
"Hey, bro," Gummy spoke, grabbing the ExVeemon's attention. "Let's use that super move we've been practicing."
"Good idea." Vee nodded. Justice knew what they were talking about. Though it is viable option, it had never been tested on an actual opponent, so it was a bit of a risk to use it. But Bero was giving them this chance to finish things. No way they were gonna miss this opportunity.
Both Vee and Gummy stood side by side. The ExVeemon formed an intense ball of energy in his hand. Once that was done, the Arresterdramon followed suit by producing blue flames in his hand, then adding it into the sphere. The sphere itself turned unstable, with the shape fluctuating widely. Several streams of blue and purple flames spiraled around the center.
With the Reverse Weddinmon seemly stunned, the two brothers charged at it, attempting to thrust the unstable and powerful sphere into it!
Will this attack be the finishing blow, or a major dud?
Combat Log: -Vee dodges ReverseWeddinmon's attempt to grab him. -Vee and Gummy attacks ReverseWeddinmon with Firenado Spiral while it's presumably stunned after Bero's toss.
Firenado Spiral - Vee forms an energy sphere in his hand (the same energy that is used when he uses Ex Laser) and Gummy (in his Arresterdramon form) adds an intense blue flame, after which the two drill the unstable sphere into the opponent, causing massive damage. Four-post cooldown.

With how messed up the truck was, was it any surprise that Bero was able to fling it around like a rag doll? The sheer force that ReverseWeddinmon was putting out was immense, and it would certainly be enough to drag Bero along for the ride, but the force Bero was outputting allowed him to turn it around even as he was dragged. As the two orbited around each other, they left a scorched trail of flame in their wake. The trail only died down when Bero was able to finally get the upper hand, whirling around and sending the truck flying into a dilapidated building. It embedded itself right into the side, easily penetrating the half-crumbled walls.
Those half-crumbled walls proceeded to fully crumble once the Firenado Spiral crashed into it. Even before impact, the sheer force of the attack left the building slowly collapsing in on itself. Vee and Gummy disappeared into the dilapidated house, the shadows leaving them out of Bero's field of vision. Did they hit their mark? Or did the unusual situation leave them running past their target in a miss?
As the two pierced through shattered stone and wood, they would come across twisted metal, and with it their answer. The Firenado Spiral hit right on target, packing enough force to detonate the Beelzeburger Truck in a brilliant explosion. The point blank blast would knock Vee and Gummy right out of the building, but while painful would not be lethal. It would, however, be lethal for the house; at this point the building was swallowed up in a raging inferno, only the furious burbling of ReverseWeddinmon a sign that any living being was left inside. With each second the burbling grew weaker and fainter, until soon it had been smothered by the sound of cracking embers.
The silence was interrupted all too soon. The door of the dilapidated building swung open, and a limping Shortmon boss came staggering out of the wreckage. He clutched his chest and heaved, smoke spilling from his mouth each time he opened it. "Screw this noise, this job ain't worth all this crap," he rasped. His voice was even more gravelly than usual after the pounding he took! "Hell do you four even want so bad, anyway?"

Bero took the brunt of a lot of burning and spinning around as he didn’t quite control the spin well enough to just toss Reverseweddinmon into a building instantly. Eventually though, with a lot of fire, explosions, slamming and the work of the twins causing bigger explosions and more infernos, it all worked out. A building was ridiculously wrecked, which Bero liked as a reminder he was now a champion, and not a Rookie.
However, he could only tell that the building was wrecked by the sound, as he himself, was half under rubble and barely maintaining his champion form. The black fire that his body was made of had weakened notably, although it was slowly mending itself. He was too foolhardy and stubborn to go back to being a blackgabumon.
The shortmon complained of their lunatic mission to beat down the truck and defeat the squad. Bero had a simple message to say. One arm thrust through the rubble and stood high, facing the Shortmon. Two claws lowered, and the last claw stuck up in an offensive gesture aimed towards the shortmon. Through the rubble and mess, Bero shouted. “Your driving is that of a rusted CPU ready to explode. Don’t hit other digimon if you’re not ready to back up your sukamon-show when they hunt you down, you Spaghetti for neuro-capacitor low-end failure of a digidumbass.”

Following up on Bero's tactical maneuver, in which immobilized ReverseWeddinmon into the building's wall. Vee and Gummy extended both their arms out as their as their attack made contact into the cake digimon's center. The unstable ball of blue fire and energy viciously grinded into him, so much so that the sheer force of the collision started to make the building slowly collapse in on itself as torrents of energy lit up the place like a piñata. With one final push, the two Champion let our a defiant roar and propel their opponent deep within the building, making the building fall all around them.
Before they could encased in debris however, the burger truck detonate into massive explosion, the knockback forcing Vee and Gummy out of the building just in the nick of time as the building got consumed by the inferno.
The coast seemed clear, the battle over. Justice had been watching from a safe distance, and approached the two large Digimon, taking a knee in front of them.
"Are you guys alright," he asked worriedly. "You two aren't seriously hurt, are you?"
The two Champion digimon slowly picked themselves up in response. "Ahh...a couple of bruises here and there, but we're alright," Vee responded. "Nothing like a building coming down on ya to get the data flowing."
The Arresterdramon scoffed. "Hmph! If you think a building collapsing in on itself would spell the end of us, Specs, chances are, you're one hundred and two percent wrong."
Knowing that Bero was caught in the building's rubble, Justice was about to search to see whether If he was alright or not, only to stop as the door that was somehow still standing after all that smug open. In it, one of the Shortmon's came out, ranting about what they wanted with them. On cue, Bero came out of the rubble and started to rant back. Seeing as how yelling was going to get nowhere, Justice walked up to the Shortmon, lowering himself to his level.
"What we want, my cake companion, is information - information about what your little job was about ." His tone then shifted to seriousness. "We saw first hand on how the food you were selling turned other Digimon into these Burpmon. We also saw you and your co-workers shoved them into the basement of that high-rise with all the party-goers. To cut to the chase: you're gonna tell us why you were doing this, and the person who instructed you to do so since I know there's a higher power involved here. And please; don't lie to me, and don't try to run. I'd hate to do the good cop/bad cop routine."
Vee and Gummy then came to Justice's side, towering above the Shortmon in an intimidating manner.

"Me? Watch my driving?" Shortmon drew a candle from his ruined vest, taking a long, slow drag of it. "How's about you watch your walking next time? You're not the only one on the road, genius." Frankly, if it wasn't for the fact that the Shortmon was about to give useful intel, he would've probably been deleted for that comment. Hell, considering Bero couldn't give two shits about what was going on, Shortmon was probably up for deletion anyway!
Nevertheless, he turned to Justice, dusting himself off to look nice and professional. "My job's simple. Make good food, get it to people all fast-like, and get their money," he explained. "They turn into a Burpmon? That shit's their problem. Next time, don't be such a pig. Even if it ain't easy with how good these burgers are. Sure, the big boss man's gonna want to see them, but that's really not the point here. Most important's bringing in the big bucks, and we do that shit with ease. Least, until youse two blew up the truck, the food, and all the loot with it.
As for told us to do so? Gee. Take a wild fuckin' guess." Shortmon looked over to the flaming remnants of the truck. Scrapped metal plates still spelled out the word "BEELZEBURGER", and Beelzemon's grinning face slowly burned away into embers. "If you can't figure out who's behind all this, you really are clueless. But I'm sure you know that already.
And I don't know anything else. I give Beelzemon his cut, he takes the Burpmon off our hands, and I don't ask any questions. Hell of a lot safer that way Anything else? Or can I get outta here now?"

“How am I supposed to keep watch for something which turns the corner faster than your weak backend coding turned tail!” Bero gave the shortmon two big middlefingers, not a care in the world. Shortmon was on the fortunate side of things that Bero adhering to his spiel of staying on the good side of powerful ‘holy’ and ‘virtuous’ digimon, as to not get a superpower kick to the curb.
The shortmon gave the other two their information, to which Bero just shrugged and half-listened. Moreso because moving was more effort than his digital body desired of him right now. “You have fun with your big bucks, don’t blame me when some Justice McGee or Pretentious police digimon deletes you for it.”
Bero had reverted back into his blackgabumon form. The shimmering rainbow metal that covered his horn had dulled and did not glow, just reflecting street lights softly as his black body had camouflaged him in the darkness of the night. “I’m out of this shitshow.”
Lest he were stopped, he’d vanish back into the night, no need for any more reward or care in the world for being an ally with Justice. His goals had been achieved in his eyes.

So far the Shortmon was being perfectly, if not brutally honest with Justice about what his job was. But still, he got a feeling that he was hiding something, but kept a cool demeanor nonetheless. Sure, a burger truck's business model is to try and sell as much as possible in order to make profit. But as a worker, if customers are becoming downright obsessive over your food, even starting brawls over it in front of you, you should at least have to common decency mitigate those kinds of problems in order to give a better name for the company you're working for.
The Shortmon signaled them to the remnant hull of the truck, the words 'BEELZEBURGER' along with a logo of the supposed Demon Lord were the only things recognizable in the flaming sack of heap. Beezlemon...so that what the ringleader looks like, huh.
The cake Digimon then asked if he could leave, which made Justice raise an eyebrow. After everything, he thought he was going to leave with a slap on the shoulder? Before Justice could comment, Bero reverted back into his Rookie form and took off into the dark streets, not even giving them a simple complement. Justice gave a look of puzzlement. "Thanks, I guess?"
Gummy crossed his arms. "Hmph! So long to that dipshit! Little shit did nothing but threw me like a baseball."
Vee stared to where the BlackGabumon vanished for a moment, then shook his head a few times to not say anything negative. "I have met a few Digimon that were a little bit unhinged," he said slowly, "but that Mon...I can't get a read out of him."
Justice then turned back at the Shortmon, who was still awaiting an answer. "Yeah, um no," he decided. "As it stands right now, you're too dangerous to be left alone. For all we know, you might go back to your Demon Lord, Beelzemon and warn him that eyes are on him. And besides, that's not up to me..."
The ExVeemon then reach out to grab the Shortmon, not in a tightening grip, but enough that he would be unable to try and escape. Justice then went on his D-Watch, contacting the two Digimon that enlisted him for this job.
"Rasielmon and Bagramon," he said on the speaker, "this is Justice. We stopped the burger truck from delivering any of that food. We had some...help along the way, but some Digimon that ate too much of that food turned into Burpmon, and were stored in the basement of Terminus High-Rise #666. We've captured the ring leader of the truck who's been receiving orders from the Demon Lord. Do you want us to bring him in?"
