He swear that he hates the term 'Tamer', but seeing how Birdie is like this, he got half the mind to slap her across the face. Thankfully, Tetsu only need to do the mantra his brother taught him: If you're angry, take a deep breathe, break off contact, and calm yourself down. Doing so will make you more credible. Thankfully he got Unica to deal with and he's happy that he's helping her so far. Gryz however is almost done dealing with this bird. It's not this human that grates him to no end. It's this bird. He swore if it's not because common decency, and part of Tetsu teaching Unica how to behave with her partner, he would probably already snap his finger and (literally) ground the bird.
In the end the two decided that the best course of action is to ignore Birdie's profanity filled order. Sure, they're shutting up... and they're ignoring her in turn. However, looks like Unica found her ground finally. Tetsu had this budding pride toward the little girl. He nodded when Unica looked at him the first time, encouraging her to go on.... and looks like it's working. Tetsu can't help but to grin back and ruffle the younger girl's head gently in affectionate praise. Even then... looks like she's still stumbling. Oh dear. Tetsu quickly taps Unica on the shoulder and knelt down again
"OK, Unica, this is where you're wrong. You did great, but you have to remember one thing. Birdie might be mean, but she's not a baby. Don't treat her as if she's one. She apologized, and if you want her to apologize stronger, please don't say 'I can't hear you' like that, but say 'louder, please' or 'can you say that again, please?'. Treating her like that is a bit mean, alright?
So now, I want you to apologize to her and try again. Apologize to her for treating her like that, and tell her you won't do it again. But at the same time, ask her to treat you with the same respect. Remember this... Treat the other like how you want to be treated. Don't be mean, or someone will be mean to you back. That's why, if you want Birdie to treat you kindly, be kind, but firm to her.
Partners are not parents and kids. Partners are like friends. Friends doesn't treat each other like that, right?"
Tetsu gently stroke her head and grinned to reassure her. "You can do it! I know you can. It's fine to make mistake, just remember to apologize!"
Truth to be told, he wondered if later in the future he'll act like this to his yet-to-be-born little sister too... it's a bit heartwarming.

Tetsu ruffled Unica's hair playfully and instructed her once again on how to speak to Birdie, praising her correct behavior and drawing attention to the fact that she should avoid babying the Biyomon. Being told that she did something wrong was a bit of a stab to her ego, which she expressed with a simple, defeated "oh," but Unica rebounded quickly and embraced what she was being told. She learned that what she was doing was not nice and was causing her to be the bully in this situation. Demeaning Birdie by treating her like a child was mean, Oniichan had said as much, but something didn't quite make sense to Unica. Tetsu explained how partners shouldn't have a parent-child relationship and should instead be friends who trust and respect each other.
Unica found this sentiment confusing. She liked both of her parents. She considered her parents two of her closest friends. Even though she didn't like some of things they told her to do, she never considered them bullies. So then why was there such a difference between the way she was treating Birdie and the way her parents would treat her? If she used the same sort of words and did the same sort of body language her parents used then why was it such a bad thing? She loved and listened to her parents, both good things that she wanted from Birdie. It made sense to Unica that if she treated Birdie the same way her parents treated her then Birdie would love and listen to her as well. But that wasn't the case. Unica was being called mean for doing the same things her parents had always done.
There was a mental disconnect between what she knew and what she was being told, and it left her speechless. She didn't voice her confusion for fear of Oniichan getting frustrated at her for not understanding what he was trying to say. After all, that's what Birdie would always do whenever Unica would ask for clarification on anything. Plus, she had no idea how she'd even begin to explain the deep confusion she felt. So, instead, Unica nodded slowly and decided to give it her best try regardless of her lingering puzzlement. She needed to apologize to Birdie for being mean. That much she knew for certain.
Unica nodded again as she steeled herself and turned back to the fuming Biyomon who had stayed silent the entire time Tetsu spoke. Her glare had become a permanent fixture on her face, but that wasn't too out of the ordinary for her. For all the trouble she had caused Unica, Tetsu, and Gryz, they had to admit it was a pleasant surprise to see how hard she was trying to bite her tongue. Any number of profanities threatened to fall out of her beak like a waterfall the moment Unica said something she didn't like. It was akin to walking on thin ice, risking painful repercussions if one was not careful. She had been quiet for a while, but that just meant she was holding back every cruel utterance she had wanted to say up until then.
"I'm sorry," Unica began before going silent again, testing to see how Birdie would react. There didn't appear to be any difference. Birdie had almost certainly heard the apology, but she wasn't taking it to heart. It would take more than a couple words to prove that Unica wouldn't continue treating Birdie like a infant. Noticing how Birdie didn't so much as blink, Unica glanced back at Tetsu, fidgeting a little in nervousness at the idea of what she should say next. Birdie huffed in disapproval and the young girl looked back at her partner. "Umm..." Partners, partners. Treat Birdie like a friend, not like a baby. Friends, friend. She said the first thing to come to her mind, "Do you want to find the phone?"
Birdie didn't hesitate to let Unica know how dumb the question was. "Of course I do! That's the entire problem! We're wasting time while you fools keep runnin' around in circles talking about feelings and shit!" She only paused long enough to inhale. "And it's called a digivice, not a phone! It's not that hard! Why are you so stupid?! Ugh!" Her words were cruel and they cut deep, which was glaringly apparent by the tears which welled up in Unica's eyes again... They were back to square one. The young girl tore her eyes from the Biyomon and looked at Tetsu for help. She didn't understand how she could communicate with Birdie successfully. It was a tightrope act: treating Birdie like a child made Unica the bully, but treating Birdie like a friend made Unica appear weak and gave the bird an opportunity to be mean again.
The only people in Unica's life who had the power to tell her what to do were her parents and teachers, people who were older than herself and treated her like a child because she was one. She had yet to have the life experience necessary to separate the confidence and steadfast-ness required to stand up to someone without assuming the role she had always seen it tied to. In her mind, the only people with the power to get what they wanted were bullies and adults. She didn't want to be perceived as a bully and she wasn't an adult, so what was there left for her to do? There was no telling whether Unica could be successful in putting her foot down without assuming a position of authority and talking down to Birdie, making herself something of a bully in the process.

...So again they're back at square one. Birdie is unfortunately not a fast learner, and it's making Tetsu more and more agitated... but he calmed himself down enough. "Unica, do you like being called stupid? It's important to know that what you call 'phone' is not 'phone'. It's called 'Digivice' alright? But... remember, if Birdie saying hurtful things like that to you, you should tell her clearly that you doesn't like it, and ask her to apologize. Remember, you don't have to cry, don't raise your voice... do it evenly. Tell her to apologize, but don't treat her like a little kid. She's not."
...At this point hopefully Unica understood how she must act. "...Or think it like this... if your friend is being mean like that, what do you do to them? If someone being mean to your friend what do you do? There is way to still be friend with someone, but at the same time being firm with them."
Gryz honestly almost ready with more traditional, physical discipline toward Birdie, but... seeing how his partner is really patiently doing this, he decided to enter his piece.
"Yes, yes we're wasting time, but you do know that we're only doing this and force you to stay because you're not learning enough, do you? Where do you think this bond will go if we just find the Digivice and end it there? Just when until it all go down and you get fed up because none of this is working? Would you still blame her?" this time his tone is even, very even.

There was so much left to learn. So much, in fact, that it was causing Unica to grow frustrated. She wasn't sure what the source of her growing anger was exactly, but her hands balled into fists and her jaw clenched as she began to grit her teeth together. Maybe she was mad at Birdie's persistent refusal to obey; maybe she was mad at Tetsu's constant mentoring; or maybe, and most likely, she was mad at herself for being unable to remember everything she was being told. Why couldn't she remember "digivice" or that she should keep a calm temperament? Why couldn't she remember that she should speak firmly while also not demeaning Birdie? She did know that she shouldn't cry, but there was no stopping the tears when someone hurt her feelings.
In that moment, Tetsu paused and began to shift metaphorical gears. Instead of pointing out specific problems and corrections to Unica's behavior, he tried to reframe how Unica perceived the current situation. Instead of imagining Birdie as an unmovable bully who couldn't be confronted or a stubborn child who needed to be taught a lesson, Oniichan suggested she imagine Birdie as a friend, a friend who said something mean. Well, that was difficult. She didn't make friends with people who said mean things. Plus, Birdie wasn't exactly Unica's friend. She was always so cruel. They never properly reached the "friendship" status. Tetsu then suggested Unica think of Birdie as a peer who said something mean to one of her friends. Okay, that was easier to imagine.
And yet, there still proved to be a mental barricade of some kind. Whenever Unica met a bully at school or at the park, she'd just walk away and avoid all confrontation with them. In the worst sorts of cases, she would get her mommy or a teacher to do something about the child who was being mean. That wasn't exactly possible in her relationship with Birdie. It was just her and her partner. There were no parents, there were no teachers, there were no adults. She couldn't just run away -- or, she could, but then what?
There was an undeniable connection between Birdie and Unica. That unexplained bond had made Birdie's prior abandonment torturous for both parties involved. It felt like something was missing in their lives. Unica couldn't do that to Birdie; alternatively, if she did then there was a strong possibility that if and when Unica returned, Birdie would want nothing to do with her. Walking away from a problem wouldn't solve it, and Unica desperately wanted to be friends with Birdie.
The fear of abandonment struck Unica hard when Tetsu said, "There is way to still be friend with someone, but at the same time being firm with them." Maybe so. Maybe there was some way. But Unica didn't know it. She avoided bullies in her daily life, she let the adults deal with mean people, and scolding Birdie in the past had led to some undesirable consequences. She felt out of her element and moving forward would prove to be uncomfortable for her. But it was something that needed to be done, especially now that someone was standing by her side, backing her up.
She waited patiently for Gryz and Tetsu to finish scolding Birdie, taking mental notes of how they handled the Biyomon as she did, before turning her attention to the pink bird. She inhaled a shaky breath in an attempt to steel herself. "I'm sorry," Unica began, not sure exactly what she was apologizing for but feeling it necessary to do so regardless. "Now you say you're sorry."
"I'm not going to say sorry 'cause I'm not sorry about anything," Birdie rebutted. She emphasized her point by crossed his wings over her chest and putting her weight on the back of her feet. She didn't seem flighty or boiling with rage anymore; instead, she just seemed annoyed.
"You're being mean to me. Please say you're sorry," Unica said. Her face was still red and tears still lingered on her lower eyelid, but her narrowed eyes, clenched teeth, and firm tone made her seem more mature than she had during the earlier part of the confrontation.
"Fine, I'm sorry," Birdie grumbled, rolling her eyes. One thing was clear, she didn't actually mean what she said.
Whether or not Unica was convinced had no bearing on what the young girl said next: "Thank you." And that was it. There was no follow-up, there was no teasing, there was no demeaning. Unica had finished. She just wanted an apology and Birdie's willingness to humor her long enough to utter the words "I'm sorry" was enough for the little girl.
Birdie expectantly waited for Unica to drop the mature facade and turn to Tetsu, eager for praise, or for her to say something else -- anything else -- just to set Birdie off. But no. The fact that Unica just left it there came as a surge of... relief? Birdie's glare softened and her shoulders relaxed slightly, though she remained silent all the while. She didn't know how to react, and she had no idea why she felt the way she did. A simple "Thank you" shouldn't have had such an impact on her. It was a such a mild praise for positive behavior that most people went about their lives ignoring the minor affect of it. But for Birdie, someone who had long since experienced such positivity, it was a welcomed phrase.
After a moment of exchanging glances, expecting the other to say anything else to break the silence, both Unica and Birdie turned their attention to Tetsu and Gryz, now expecting them to say something.

Looks like it's heading for the better after all. Tetsu pats Unica's head finally. Even if she doesn't ask this, he's happy for her. "...That's a great step. You're doing great," that's what he have to say. "It's a step for you too," he addressed Birdie. "It's a step, but if you don't tell her how to shape up in gentle way, you won't get what you want. You have to learn to be patient to her now that you learned things won't go your way if you don't compromise. However, enough of that."
He took out his Digivice and pressed the evolution button.
"Gryz, Warp Shinka."
"Bearmon Warp Shinka!"
Gryz's form rapidly evolving as his data rearranged itself, from Bearmon to Seasarmon, from Seasarmon to Mihiramon, from Mihiramon to massive white tiger sacred beast Digimon, Baihumon. His form, still only formed by wireframes and coding data, immediately rendered by golden rings that solidified his look.
"Baihumon. Well, I guess it's time to re-track which way you gone to right? Any of you two remember where did you walked from and where?"
Gryz as Baihumon slowly lowered his body for the two to ride on. Tetsu climbed up first, but quickly offered his hand to Unica. "Let's find your Digivice, shall we? What's the color, can you remember it? Also the shape if possible."

Unica was still frustrated, but the pat and praise did help comfort her nonetheless. A faint half smile crept over the young girl's face and she let out a single, gentle giggle in response. Not only did it feel good to have Birdie listen to her for once, but it was an added bonus that she had made Oniichan proud. Birdie also felt pleased at the fact that Tetsu acknowledged her effort, though his brief recap of lessons previously learned annoyed the Digimon and she rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, quit it with sappy stuff," she huffed, mostly under her breath, not daring speak any louder for fear of being lectured again and having the entire confrontation start over again.
The moment Tetsu took out his digivice, Birdie straightened up and her eyes widened every so slightly. It may have seemed strange seeing the excited way she was watching the tiny machine, as though she were a child staring at an expensive toy through a window, knowing full well there was no way she could obtain what she desired most. Birdie knew the digivice Tetsu held in his hands was not hers, but something about it -- something about the power that surged from it -- was enough to energize Birdie. As the device began to shine in the boy's hands, Birdie's eyes widened more and she shifted her attention to Gryz who began to warp digivolve.
Unica too was fascinated with the evolution process. She had seen Digimon evolve before, and she even had the opportunity to witness Birdie digivolving to a Harpymon during a fight against one of the Dark Lords' underlings, but this was something different. Gryz, this once adorable black-and-blue Bearmon, had transformed into a shishi then to a winged tiger and finally to a white-and-purple tiger clad with armor and luminescent spheres. "KITTY!" Unica screamed, a massive grin taking up over half of her face. She bounced up and down in place excitedly, doing everything in her power not to hug Gryz in his new form. Within seconds after his body solidified, Unica gave into her childish desire and raced forward, wrapping her arms around one of his front legs and pressing her face against his soft fur.
When Tetsu asked if the females remembered where they had come from and where they were going, Birdie glanced over at Unica just long enough to realize that she wasn't going to answer. She was too preoccupied with her new favorite Digimon. Birdie's gaze shifted back to the boy, the ever familiar look of irritation having once again returned to her face. "We came from Trailmon Terminal and were headed to the Network Planes," her voice wandered as she narrowed her eyes and exhaled sharply, "Obviously we didn't get far before lil' miss ditz over there lost it." Birdie motioned to Unica with a nod of her head. "Who knows if it's here or in the human world," Birdie pointed out, her speech pattern slowing as she spoke, as though she were choosing her words carefully to avoid saying something she would later regret.
Armed with this information, Tetsu stepped up beside his partner who knelt down without needing to be commanded to. Something about the sight of the young boy riding atop such a fierce, powerful Digimon sent a wave of rage through Birdie's body. That rage was only intensified when Unica tried to scramble up onto Gryz' back as well. The young girl attempted to get up by herself but kept losing her grip. Eventually, she gave in and accepted Tetsu's help. The last time she was on such a large Digimon was when she first arrived to the digital world, got completely lost in Folder Desert, and met a friendly Digimon-human duo who offered her a ride to the city.
As the trio prepared to head off and Birdie continued to simmer about the fact that Gryz was letting two humans treat him like a vehicle, Tetsu asked Unica if she could describe the missing digivice. In Unica's defense, she tried her best, but it was objectively not very helpful. "It's like a phone," she said, "Like this." With one hand holding onto Baihumon's fur, she used her other hand to draw an oval shape in the air. "It's pretty and pink, like Birdie," Unica added with a sense of finality.
Meanwhile, Birdie rose off the ground with a few flaps of her wings, drifted over to Unica's backpack which still sat in the middle of the street, and picked it up with her talons... Why did she even care whether or not the girl's belongings were left behind? As she did this, she spoke up in an attempt to add clarification to Unica's description. "Not pink, you idiot. Purple and white. It's a D-3, I think." She flapped her wings a few more times to gain some altitude. "It's got a stupid little dango charm tied onto the end." She flew in lazy circles overhead of Gryz and the two children as she waited for them to begin searching. Unica, on the other hand, seemed unfazed by Birdie's rude word choice; instead, she was too engrossed in the fact that she was getting to ride on a giant cat.

"That sappy stuff would help you in the future," was all that Gryz said before he evolved to Baihumon. Of course Birdie's anger does not escape his notice either. Being someone who have to act as the hostility detector, he have to look at potential dangers. He could thought several reasons why Birdie would be angry...
One, it could because she was jealous of his strength... two, it could be that she was angry because of the wasted time... and the third and most likely, it's probably because how he acted toward Tetsu, by doing something without needed to be commanded... But why does he even need to be commanded? He's not a tamed Digimon! Does it really bother her? Gryz never treated his partnership as a subservient to his partner, nay. They're in equal, so the Baihumon thought. He loved his partner dearly like a brother. If just by lowering your body and letting your partner to ride you treated as some sort of degrading himself, then surely his self worth was so low, so he thought.
Matter of pride, matter of being partnered... if he have to care every single shit about his image, then he wouldn't get anywhere. Tetsu was someone he fought together with, and that alone was more than enough reason for him to disregard all the prickly comment at his behavior.
"Words," Gryz reminded. "You'd do well to control that temper."
Even so, he's focused in finding the Digivice.
"Let's head toward the station, then continue to real world if it's not found around there. We might have to ask around the workers there. What do you think, Tetsu?"
"Well I guess we can look at the lost and found, see if they have anything to say. What about you?"
"I think we should probably ask any workers if they have seen any missing items at it too. We probably can narrow down our search by knowing the exact time of arrival, and what sort of Trailmon they used to ride here. Maybe it can be dropped in the Trailmons... knowing them, they probably hold on to it, hmn."

If Birdie could've heard Gryz' thoughts and predictions about why she was so angry, she most certainly would've lashed out. Who did he think he was? He didn't know anything about her! How dare he assume he knew otherwise! Even still, he was right. The truth was that all three of Gryz' assumptions were accurate and, together, they made up the primary reason why she was so bitter. Not just to Gryz and Tetsu, but to Unica and everyone else she had ever met. To her, high ranked Digimon were powerful beings who were meant to be served and respected. This was part of the reason why she herself searched for a means to get stronger. She wanted that same respect. She wanted to be looked up to. No longer would she be a helpless rookie, pushed around and bullied by those bigger and stronger.
And so, when Gryz transformed, it stood to reason that he too should've been respected and the puny humans should've bowed before him. But no. Instead, he bowed to them. This mighty beast felled by a couple of whiny brats. If digivolving into his mega form still meant that Gryz had to obey Tetsu then what did that mean for Birdie? If and when she reached her ultimate or mega form then would Birdie be expected to do Unica's bidding. Would she too remain nothing more than a pet to her tamer? The idea sickened her. What was the point of achieving such great power if it meant settling as someone's pet? So, yes. Birdie was jealous of Gryz' power, and she was frustrated with how much time they had wasted, and she was angry at the realization that she would always have a human partner controlling her.
But because she was not asked and because Gryz had not voiced his theories, she didn't offer an explanation. Instead, when the Baihumon told her to control her temper, Birdie simply rolled her eyes and continued to fly in lazy circles overhead. The boys down below began to discuss a plan of how to locate the missing device and she listened in: retrace Birdie and Unica's steps, look in the lost and found at Trailmon Station, ask the workers at the station if they had seen it, and search the Trailmon that Unica used to arrive. Traveling to the human world was the last option. It was a good plan, even Birdie had to admit it. Without a word, she flew ahead of the trio and led the way through the streets slowly, staying just above the crowd as she did. She scanned the crowd, keeping her eyes out for anything obvious and letting Tetsu, Gryz, and Unica search on the ground level.

"We're here," Gryz said. Tetsu quickly hopped down, and Gryz lowered his body to let Unica to down easier. Tetsu obviously helped her to get down.
"How, Gryz?"
"Not here, maybe we can slowly look for it, there'll be some signal from it. I have registered the lady and the bird's signal, so we only need to look for it in some way... how about you guys ask around? I'm not sure if there will be a lot of people who appreciates an Ultimate stage running about in this sort of place.
"That's true... But can't you just follow us or something?"
"Well I guess if I walk slowly... they might not mind..."
First, Tetsu decided that perhaps the best lead is to go to the lost and found counter first.
"Excuse meeee... Do you think you ever seen something like this?"
Tetsu quickly made a sketch of the digivice, but made sure to show it to Birdie and Unica. While it's not too shabby, it's also a bit plain and too simplified... It at least gets the point across though. He also doesn't forgot to add notes of the color in the drawing, considering that he only got pencil and none of the color pens.
"....Is this about right?"
The dango charm too, he added it there.

It took a while for the group to make it to Trailmon Terminal, though the journey was largely uneventful. No one spotted the digivice on the streets, so there was very little conversing. The silence made the entire trek to the station feel that much longer. Regardless, they made it to their destination without incident. Birdie landed as the two children climbed off Gryz, gingerly laying the backpack on the ground first before fluttering to land beside it. After thanking the now feline-esque Gryz for the ride, Unica walked over to her bag and picked it up, thanking Birdie too as she did. The Biyomon simply rolled her eyes and looked in the opposite direction, ignoring her tamer and pretending to scan their surroundings for the digivice.
Unica frowned at this and returned her attention to the boys who were discussing a new search strategy. Gryz would stay outside, or perhaps follow slowly them if those inside didn't mind his large size, while the other three asked around. Tetsu, for one, planned to go to the lost-and-found first. It was a good plan, and Unica followed close behind, not wanting to get lost in the crowd of humans and Digimon waiting for a ride. Behind the counter was a Hagurumon, the cogs on either side of its face rotating at a steady pace. It was a strange creature indeed, but Unica said nothing about it. She simply stayed half hidden behind her Oniichan as he sketched the missing digivice.
When he was finished, Tetsu showed his drawing to Unica for verification. "Yes, yes! Just like that," the girl exclaimed while clapping her hands together excitedly. The boy was no professional artist, but he did know enough about what D-3 digivices looked like to draw one on paper. It was enough to get the point across, at least. If and when Tetsu showed his drawing to the Hagurumon, it would've had no trouble recognizing the sketch as a digivice even though it had none in its possession. "What do you think, Birdie?" Unica asked as she turned around, suddenly noticing that her partner was missing. There was a moment of silence as she glanced on Gryz' back, in the air, and back to Tetsu. "Birdie?" she asked again, a little louder this time.
Fear wracked her brain in an instant as she began having flashbacks to Birdie abandoning her at the Spartan Training Grounds. The days at the campgrounds were probably the best she'd had in the digital world -- go figure, those were the days she hadn't been with Birdie -- but the vision of her partner flying off after brutally attacking someone, never even looking back once or saying goodbye, stuck with the poor girl. "Birdie!" Unica screamed, her voice cracking as emotion swelled in her chest. Her legs seemed to work by themselves, moving her away from Tetsu and into the crowd as she called out again. There was no logical reason why Unica felt so attached to Birdie, a Digimon who seemed to hate everyone and everything, but she did. She felt somehow responsible for her partner.
Birdie, on the other hand, had wandered away from the group as soon as they entered the terminal. Call it miscommunication or a sense of independence, but she decided to scour the station while Tetsu and Unica asked the lost-and-found employee about the missing digivice. Doing so, she thought, would help save valuable time. There were four of them, so they could've been searching up to four different locations. It seemed only logical to split up. While it was true that Birdie had abandoned her tamer before and had a tendency to run away from situations she didn't like (if she couldn't fight her way out), she hadn't planned to use the crowd at Trailmon Terminal to slip away as Unica assumed. In fact, now more than ever, she wanted to find the digivice. They were so close. She could feel it.

Tetsu had to talk with the Hagurumon for a while about the Digivice after showing it to Unica... but... it looked like she suddenly ran off herself! Oh fuck! He thought back then when she called out to Birdie she's just trying to call out for her and she's not answering as always but the moment he heard how distressed she was, he noticed that he was few seconds late because the girl has gone quite the distance away.
"Unica! Wait!"
Honestly, he's thankful that he's trained in various Digital World activity, and running toward the speeding girl was not hard the slightest. Still, the crowd is getting a bit too hard to keep track of her until suddenly... Gryz taps his front foot on the ground. A Baihumon moving like that was enough to part the crowds into two, giving the boy the needed space to chase after the smaller girl. Meanwhile, Gryz slowly walked forward, while apologizing toward both passenger and arrivals alike for his uncouth action.
Emergency things require emergency action after all...
Still, what amuses Gryz is the fact that it doesn't looks like Birdie is trying to leave. Someone who tried to leave would move faster than that... So, it's a case of misunderstanding after all? Either way, he kept moving to catch up with his partner and the little girl. For now, should he kept quiet just to let the bird to see that she is actually cared for?

From above, Birdie could see everything, and what she saw was an Impmon kneeling down to pick something up near the train tracks. When they creature stood back up, he had a familiar looking digivice in his greedy little claws. Had the party of four arrived at the terminal just a few minutes sooner, they would've been able to find the digivice before any of the passersby managed to get their hands on it. A familiar rage flared up inside Birdie's chest and she instantly swooped down, baring her talons and slamming her entire body into the Impmon, knocking him to the ground in the process.
To everyone around, it was obvious who the aggravator was. Some moved to pull Birdie off the Impmon, but they stopped when she began to speak. "You thieving imp! Hand it over!"
"Hand what over!?" the Impmon wailed. Uncertain looks were shared among the crowd as the conversation only confused them about who was at fault. Some assumed that if the Impmon had stolen something from the Biyomon then perhaps she was in the right to demand it back.
"Don't play stupid! Drop it!" Birdie snarled, snapping her beak in the stranger's face to emphasize her point. It was clear she was on the verge of doing real harm if he didn't do what she said. As the crowd became to stir again, readying themselves to interfere, Baihumon stepped forward and parted the way for two small humans.
The moment Unica spotted her partner harassing the other Digimon, she acted, racing forward and screaming at Birdie to "stop being mean!"
In the time it took for the young girl to close the distance, Birdie had managed to glance at the Impmon's hands to discover that he was no longer holding the digivice. The most reasonable assumption to make would've been that he dropped the device when he was tackled -- and, indeed, that was what happened -- but Birdie didn't come to that conclusion. Instead, she believed he must've been playing a trick of some kind. Perhaps he used some sort of ability to turn it invisible, she thought.
"You devious little-!" Birdie began before she was promptly hugged from behind. Unica had experience trying to use words to calm Birdie down when she was like this, but nothing ever seemed to work. Partially because it was the first thing she could think to do and partially because she wanted to restrain the Biyomon, Unica decided to wrap her arms around her partner. That way, if the pink-and-purple bird wanted to fly away or do any more harm, she'd have to shake off Unica first.
The moment Birdie felt someone grapple her, she whipped her head around and struggled to break, her eyes once again manic with anger and hostility. However, as she turned her attention in an attempt to look at her captor, she spotted the digivice sitting precariously close to one of the Trailmon's wheels. "Get off!" Birdie screamed, flapping her arms wildly in an attempt to break free. She ultimately succeeded, throwing her tamer down to the ground in the process. Without so much as looking back at Unica, the Impmon, or any of the other nearby Digimon, Birdie raced over to the digivice.
Aside from a bruised ego and a sense of helplessness upon falling to the ground, Unica was otherwise uninjured. As her partner half-skipped, half-glided over to the digivice, Unica wanted nothing more than to cry, to scream at Birdie, or to throw that stupid digivice away! Why was that dumb machine more important than her anyway!? It made her so sad and so angry and so... everything! Just as all these emotions bubbled up inside Unica, she heard a quiet, pained grunt beside her. She tore her eyes from Birdie and glanced at the Impmon who was in the act of sitting up and gently massaging the shallow injuries on his chest. "Are you okay?" she asked, concern obvious in her tone.
The Impmon looked over at Unica and took a moment to assess her before smiling gently and nodded. "I'll be okay. It was just a misunderstanding," he explained. His answer boggled Unica's mind. How could he be so calm about being attacked? Is that what Oniichan meant when he told her to keep calm when talking to Birdie? He told her that losing her temper or throwing a tantrum wouldn't work against Birdie. Was this Impmon's calm temperament just the sort of thing she needed to employ when talking to her partner? That seemed like such an impossible thing to do, especially when Birdie lashed out the way she did.

This... is getting worse by minutes. Gryz had no idea how come everything just gone out of the window at the first sight of the new Digimon, but he guess it's time to break it up. Tetsu helped Unica and checked for her wounds, hoping there are none. When he was about to open his mouth, Gryz was one who did it first.
"...Time for re-evaluation," he announced. It's intimidating to see Baihumon sitting near you, in all its majestic glory... and it's intimidating to see that he's focusing all his attention at you... and hopefully, this what Birdie would feel too. However, Gryz was not angry... not a single anger in his tone as he spoke "...Birdie... I think you have completely forgotten what you have learned, and ultimately, you're completely missing the point of this thing called 'partnership'. You may call it nonsense, but bond is what taken me this far as a partnered Digimon... And in itself, you have forgotten that Digivice is a simple trinket without Unica supporting it.
The item on your hand right now is nothing but a trinket if this goes on. True you can't evolve without it... but if you just blindly seek for power, without knowing for what that power is, then that thing... is nothing but a shackle. Have you truly tried to communicate, or is communicating too hard? Have you ever had any sort of goodwill toward someone, other than yourself? Your reaction told me that you treated everyone as enemy. The world must revolve around you... yet you know that it's not, but you wished for it anyway."
Gryz did not say it out loud, but his four eyes shows that he will accept no temper tantrum nor illogical denial.
"..........Have you truly stopped... talked, and convey what you desire to your partner? Have you ever seen her more than just a baby that you should babysat just to get stronger? Have you ever treated her as equal instead of a child? It's understandable that you panicked when you saw your important item to be on someone else's hand, but your conclusion was always "they're in the wrong"... isn't that so? Have you ever calmed down and think that it might be misunderstanding? Have you even stopped and think for what's truly important before you shook your partner away?"
Gryz finallly done with his speech at the moment... and honestly... he will take no insolent behavior.

Unica was fine physically, but her emotions were all over the place. She wasn't sure what she should've been feeling, and this fact became immediately apparent when Oniichan raced to her side. As he asked if she was alright and checked her arms for injuries, Unica remained silent, her steady gaze shifting from the Impmon to Birdie then back again. She wanted to cry. There was a painful tightness in her chest that normally called forth tears, but not this time. Something stop her grief from taking over.
Anger. A hot sensation that started from the back of her head and slowly trickled to the tip of her tongue. Screaming and shoving Birdie back felt like a more pertinent desire than crying. But she knew better than to stoop to Birdie's level. It was hard, though. She felt like her partner deserved it -- to feel what she felt. No, this wasn't right. She should've heeded Tetsu's words and been more like Impmon. Keep calm and communicate her thoughts without throwing a tantrum. That was the right thing to do. But if that was the right choice then why did she still feel like lashing out at Birdie?
This mental tightrope balance of emotions made the young girl appear to have no emotions at all. Perhaps part of it was due to the shock she'd experienced by being shoved aside, but most of it was the result of her trying to figure out how to not let her inappropriate emotions show, as much as she wanted to. UGH! Unica balled her hands into fists and turned her attention to Gryz as he began to lecture Birdie. Unfortunately, although his words were spot-on and should've been considered by both partners, neither seemed to be taking his words to heart.
While Unica was in a strange trance of stoicism, Birdie was quite the opposite, grinning and looking smug as the Baihumon scolded her. Gryz was a horrifying and magnificent sight to behold, but something about finally retrieving the digivice made Birdie feel good about herself, like she could take on the entire world even though she only had access to champion level... and only if the partners were on the same wavelength. As their relationship stood, Birdie wouldn't be able to evolve for a while. And yet, the smirk remained plastered on her face as she looked up at the massive tiger-like creature.
As Gryz continued to speak, seemingly unaffected by her proud demeanor, Birdie's facade began to crumble away. The high of finding and retrieving the digivice was quickly fading and she was slowly becoming aware of just how outnumbered and outmatched she truly was. In an instant, she suddenly seemed to become aware of the fact that she was once again being scolded. Why couldn't he just be happy for her? Infuriating. With a stiffening of her shoulders and a narrowing of her eyes, Birdie snorted through her beak and shook her head. "Treated her as an equal!?" she laughed, a cruel and bitter sound that made Unica's ears ring and only added more fuel to the flame. The girl stirred as Birdie went on.
"You think that brat's what's 'truly important'? Hah! Give me a break! You've been brainwashed by your pet, slimeball! Humans are meant to serve us," she sneered, holding up the digivice that was locked firmly in her claws. "They're given these tools to make us stronger. A means to an end. Don't you get it? She's a hunk of meat. Prey. Weak. I will live forever! I will show her, I will show them all! I'll show the entire world! I'll crush anyone who stands in my way!" Birdie went on like this, spouting her philosophy to Gryz and everyone else in the vacinity. As she did, Unica stood up and walked over to her rambling partner, prepared to shove the Biyomon if no one did something to stop either of them first.

Before Tetsu or even Unica can move, Gryz suddenly moved forward, lightning crackled all over his body as his anger peaked. This behavior shall not be tolerated anymore. He will give her a lesson of a lifetime. "Well won't you look at that... the insect got a huge mouth. I have gone easy with you so far, you know? Haven't I told you before? The moment that you faced against someone stronger than you... your life would forfeit. That is if you can't even understand your partner...
Well, then... because you would never hear and never learn... shall we learn in hard way? Should I just destroy your Digivice so you cannot evolve forever, maybe you'll have no one but yourself to blame? Or maybe... Oh right, that's a bit too tame isn't it? You'll probably just never going to learn... so how should I do this I wonder? Break some bones? Or maybe seal your technique for tons while, see how it feels to be human for once? Or maybe..."
"Gryz... I have a better idea," Tetsu suddenly quipped. He slowly stepped forward. "...You have to learn how to trust, and to face the world by yourself. Those who doesn't meet another in the center to work together... and not to mention trying to use poor girl like that... should be punished. I'm sorry Unica, but this is also for you."
A huge portal appeared nearby. It shows blue city on the other side. Gryz suddenly grinned. "...I see..."
The portal is heading to Ys, where the blue city have its own barrier. It teleports hostile subjects who have hostility to its people and the city away, somewhere in Northern Prominence. Gryz would quickly strike Birdie toward the portal, where she would be transported away somewhere on the north.
"....You may hate us as much as you want, Unica," Tetsu said "but I cannot allow her to stay beside you if she just want to use you, and make you feel horrible. That's not what friend is... and that's why she must learn to trust. If she can't, then there will be no future for you two. It's best like this."
