[PotT 1] The Age of Erika!

A knife wouldn’t be necessary. Once Koharu shook the book a little or looked for the page with the bulge, a small, rectangular card would fall off from between the pages, only to be blown away by the wind and swirl through the deck. Someone should probably get that soon before it falls off deck and into the water!
Sadly, there were no pipes around for Koharu to communicate any discovery to the rest of the crew. Maybe there was a way to fix that. And maybe there were crewmates working on that already. In any case! One thing to notice was that the ship had passed by Combu Island with no eventualities and kept moving forward. Not too far away, another island could be seen, this one was a tad smaller and they were getting closer by the second. According to the map, the upcoming island was ‘Mina Island’.
Another object in the horizon that would definitely peak both Wrag and Koharu’s attention was a massive, gigantic galleon some miles away from Mina Island. It wasn’t exactly on their way, but it was there. Right now, they couldn’t quite decry who did that belong to, but it was definitely an imposing sight.
It would probably be a good idea to draw their advances in their chart.
Immediately, Erika shook her head. “No, please.” Her crew could be anywhere they wanted, after all. This was their ship as much as it was hers! “I hope you can make that thing work.” She added, turning her head back at Fuu to continue on their own task. “I agree.” Then, she giggled at the twin’s comments. “That’s so cute. I was never in school, actually. But I know I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed.” These crewmates she had got herself were definitely adorable.
“Okay, Fuu, what if I look through the ingredients inside the crate and tell you everything I find so you can write it down?” That would help them get the job done faster. If the dragon agreed to this, Erika would hand a pen to her and would start browsing through the items inside that crate, naming its contents out loud so Fuu could write them down in the book.
“Let’s see… we’ve got… Twenty-five pounds of blue apples, thirty pounds of dino-dino lettuce…” She went through all the fruits and vegetables first. Then, she named the different types of meat they had. “… one hundred and fifty pounds of Komodori steak, one hundred pounds of pow-grow chicken, fifty pounds of…” to finally name the sauces and spices. It was a long list of all kinds of ingredients.
There was no arguing their inventory was wide and vast.
“This crate definitely had more food than I thought. I can’t believe I got this for such a low price.” The captain took a seat at the floor once they were done doing an inventory of all the food inside. “I also bought a box of junk from them, just because it was fairly cheap too. It had old batteries, D-Terminals, and other antique gadgets.” Out of a memory going through her head, the girl chuckled. “What can I say? I guess I got the love for old junk from my dad. I believe there’s something valuable to be found in every little thing. As some would say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, right?”
Speaking of junk…
The amount of small, rusty tools that could be found inside that sole toolbox was stunning! It seemed like Erika’s dad had a tool for everything. Good thing a diamond-shaped screwdriver was between those things. Even if it took her until Erika and Fuu were done doing inventory, Buu was able to find the screwdriver they were looking for. She should take that to Kon immediately.
Once she left, Erika turned to Fuu. “Okay, so we should start cooking now, right? Please take whatever ingredients you see fit and let's move into the kitchen.” One could assume Fuu would find basically anything she could think of inside of that crate. Now that they had an inventory, it would be easy to find exactly what she wanted to cook.
With the screwdriver at hand, the task to open that lit would prove to be fairly easy. A couple of turns in each of the screws and it would pop open! A small compartment with wires of different colors and complicated circuits could be seen now.
It wasn’t necessary to be an expert in digimon technology to know there was something wrong in here. Maybe it wouldn’t be the only thing this machine was missing in order to work, but it was definitely the most obvious; There was a hollow with a series of wires around it as if they needed to be plugged into something. The gap had a cylindrical shape (meaning something cylindrical would fit in there) with the code 'AA-4' etched in it.
It seemed like this was missing a battery.

"Hawawawa-wait!" the black haired girl chased after the bookmark. Thankfully she's quite agile. She might be an otaku but even then she's quite active! Athletics is one of her strong points! Albeit, probably it won't involve a graceful landing on the deck as she catch the bookmarker, she definitely... ended up seeing the galleon far away.
"...Shit."
That comment from Warg definitely is one that she echoed. Fuckfuckfuckfuck. A Galleon? A pirate one? Warg quickly pulled a telescope and try to see any jolly rogers or any indication whether it's a pirate ship or not. Because holy crap, this is not funny if they have to fight a huge one.
Eeto, eeto...
Oh right! The twins have D-Nexus! She quickly pressed the communication button to Fuu and Bu.
"Bu, Fuu, there are a galleon up here! They're still far away at the moment, but tell captain to BOLT UP RIGHT NOW. I'm going to calculate how fast we're getting to them!"
And so she returned to the wheel and start drawing everything she knew. She hoped the distance is enough for them to turn tail or something... Holy shit, holy shit...
Now this is good. "Thank you Bu," Kon-chan thanked the Ryudamon before popping the case open.... Ah, this is... this is elementary huh... AA-4? Is it four AA battery? Or something else?
"Bu, please check with the captain again if there are AA4 battery. I'll try meanwhile to see if it fits with my 4 AA batteries..."

Erika had never been in school? That was odd. Especially for a human. "You really haven't been in school before? Okay...If you need help with anything, just say the word." As to the captain's suggestion that she list off stuff and Fuu write them down?
"T-That actually works. Um...You go ahead, I'll do my best to record everything." Fuu replied towards the captain as she got to going through inventory, with Buu departing as soon as she got the screwdriver with a quick thank you. Fuu herself was pretty skilled at writing quickly--so this would indeed be a quick job.
Once they were done..."Okay, so...something common amongst ship crews that I read about is a lack of vitamin C, so we should make something with fruits in it." Fuu declared as she began to fish out some fruit, and some chicken. And some sauce to go with said chicken. Simple meals.
Of course, this was interrupted by a ring on her D-Nexus. "...A what?" She replied to Koharu before she looked to Erika. "Um, Captain, Koharu says there's a galleon up ahead. I'll take care of things down here, do you think you can go to the top deck and see what's going on?" The Dorumon inquired. Meanwhile, Bu and Kon had put that screwdriver to good use, and found that the device lacked a battery...Bu wasn't that smart, but she had been confronted with electronics in the past. "It might just need 4 batteries. Apparently batteries in the human world come in packs that denote size first then how many there are second, so...Probably just 4 batteries are needed. I'll go check down below for more. Hopefully the captain's still down there, I think Fuu might've gotten on that call Koharu put out right away..." She said, heading off to go nag Fuu and the captain about just that.
...She didn't do anything about Koharu's call because she was pretty sure of what she just said. Anyways, she shouted on the way down! "Hey, what's it mean by an AA-4 battery? Just 4 AA batteries or what?"

It was just when Koharu was able to actually hold onto the card that she could study it from up close. It looked like an advertising card. It had a purple color and the words ‘The Aftermath’ were written in digimoji. If the human turned the card, she would see the most interesting piece of info it had to offer. ‘Come to visit at Uka Island.’ So, apparently, they already had a place where they should go once they arrived at Uka Island. Of course, the giant galleon on their way was something they should sort out before of that. From looking through the telescope, Wrag would see not jolly roger or any other type of flag. However, the sails of the vessels were of light blue color and had the letters DN written in Digimoji.
Showing a smirk, Erika gave a firm nod. “I was born and raised in this world. My dad taught me everything I know.” Weren’t her crewmates just adorable? “Thanks! You look pretty smart, so I know you could teach me some stuff, Fuu.” What the little digimon had had was actually a good idea, simple but nutritious. Erika got ready to leave the stash and head for the kitchen until that message from Koharu arrived. “A… what?” A galleon was a ship at least three times bigger than the Age of Erika. So it had the potential to mean trouble real fast. Erika turned to Fuu before leaving. “Get the ingredients to the kitchen and start cooking something. If I need you up above, I’ll let you know.” With this, the captain stormed out of the warehouse. In her way up, she actually found Bu, asking about batteries. The pirate girl managed to stop herself in motion to answer her question. Still jogging in the same place, Erika tried to think of an answer. “I think an AA-4 battery is a type of battery, I don’t think it’s actually four small batteries but like a big one of that model.” The girl threw a key to the dragon. “That’s the key to my room. There’s a box of junk I bought from those merchants there. I think there were batteries inside. Maybe one of those could work!” No time to lose. The captain continued her way, rushing up. “If I need you upstairs I’ll let you know, Bu!”Erika didn’t need to go up the crow nest. Their ship had continued to move forward and they were a lot closer to the Galleon now, so the vessel was easier to see in detail now. At the moment, the Age of Erika was right between this galleon and Mina Island. “It’s huge.” Some level of excitement could be heard in Erika’s voice, even if she wasn’t sure whether this ship meant good news or not. “Thank you for letting me know, Koharu.” She nodded at her sailing master before taking a moment to study the ship in question. Right from looking at its sails, Erika knew who these were. “The Digimon Navy…” She muttered. “They are the strongest military force across the seas of the Digital World.” The captain went on with her explanation. “They claim to preserve order and justice across the sea. I don’t trust them.” While uttering this last sentence, Erika frowned. Then, she let out a sigh. “Luckily, they seem busy with something else. As long as they don’t see me, we’ll be okay. I am a wanted criminal, after all.” A pause ensued. “I guess while we remain out of the way and I remain unnoticed, they probably won’t bother us. We probably will be a threat for them at some point, though.” The rest of the crew had to know that, once everyone knew they were part of Erika’s crew, they would be wanted criminals too. Staring at the massive ship, Erika blinked twice. “Warg!” She raised her gaze towards the crow nest. “Can you use the telescope and tell me what you can see at the lowest part of that ship?”
If the Guilmon complied, he would see a group of five Divermon, going out of a gate at the lowest part of the Galleon, each of them was on top of a Dolphmon that moved at full throttle to the north. Just as if they were heading towards Uka Island too. Since they were definitely faster, they remained far ahead of the Age of Erika, which had passed by Mina Island now. The Galleon remained in front of the island, without moving. Inventory-How to read and draw nautical charts. Beginners' Edition. (Book) [Koharu] -'The Aftermath' card. [Crucial item] [Koharu]

The... Aftermath? What a rather... foreboding name. Come to visit at Uka Island? Definitely related to the secret code she guessed. Still, the feeling of that ship on the horizon made her anxious as hell still. Oh, wait, how about changing her looks so she won't be as easily found? Lessee, lessee... the girl rummaged her inventories for whatever it is.
and just right on time, the captain appeared.. She mentioned something about being in wanted list? Well she's a pirate, so that makes sense. Koharu quickly draw this on the map. Even in haste looks like the girl's drawing quality hasn't dropped at all, which probably honed by her personal deadline of putting some manga up in p*xiv.
Probably being a threat, huh...
"...Well just a heads up but I don't think I can evolve my partners past adult stage yet," Koharu told Erika. Whatever it is, she found the right attire. Immediately she draped pirate clothes over her casual dress, put a mask and all that... the result somehow looked like a cosplayer... Oh well, whatever!
"Hangyomon, riding Rukamon... Honestly, can't they do it themselves? They're perfect stages for love of Homeostasis. Anyway, they're heading North, Captain! What should we do?"
"North is... Uka Island, huh... without doubt we'll clash with them most likely." Koharu muttered.
Crap though... if they're perfect stages... she's not sure if they can win. Most likely they need to do stealthy stealth.

A human, born and raised in this world? That was something that struck Fuu as nothing short of strange. She nonetheless nodded at the captain. "Of course. If there's anything in particular you wish taught, just...um. Just say the word. As an aside, I'll be sure to do my best with cooking!" Other than that, she had been given her next set of orders. She wasn't particularly worried about the galleon right now.
That would only be if it had the audacity to interrupt her work. She made her way up the stairs and to the kitchen, passing by Bu (who was looking the key over) on her way there before she began to get to work. What was it she was working with within the kitchen? She set down her ingredients and took a look around. Bu looked to Erika as she spoke to her. "Ah, so a big one..." She repeated before she followed her sister, yet her destination was different. She had been headed for the bedrooms, herself. It didn't strike it as weird that she was just heading to a girl's room to rummage through it for some batteries, but that was, in fact, what she intended to do.
Bu searched for anything to pin down one of the rooms as belonging to the captain before she went to go unlock it and take a look inside.

While listening to Koharu, Erika tilted her head. A smile was drawn on her lips once she finished. “I’m sure we’ll be just fine. Our power lies way beyond the stages that we can reach.” She winked an eye to the girl, while she put on her new attire. “I love it! You look great!” The sound of Warg’s voice made Erika turned her head upwards. "Thanks, Warg!" He was another cutie. Then, her eyes drifted back to the human half of her Sailing Masters.
“You’re right. It’s likely they’re heading to Uka Island. Could it be they're also going there to investigate Elecmon’s disappearance?” The captain’s mouth wrinkled. “We should try to avoid bumping into them once we’re there. I’m not sure if that’s possible, but we can try.” She wasn’t afraid of the Navy! She just knew it was more convenient for the crew to keep a certain distance from them for the time being, at least. Whether they would be able to comply, remained to be seen.
“How is the map going, Koharu?” Erika asked her peer with a smile. Then, her eyes went to the bow of the ship, looking into the horizon. The distant shape of a piece of land could be decried already. “The next island is Uka Island. We’re almost there.”
Going out of her reverie, Erika turned back to Koharu. “Did Elecmon’s book was of any help? Did you find anything interesting in it? I would like to hear your insight about what we might find up there.” It seemed like her crewmates' opinion on things was something of high importance for the captain.
Bu’s journey would be quite short and simple. Once she got to what would be the first floor below deck inside the ship, she would need to take a left, heading to the bedrooms. Although five doors could be seen throughout the aisle, only one had a wooden sign with the name ‘Erika’ written in violet. Soon enough, they should get their rooms assigned. For the moment, Bu could use the key to enter the captain’s cabin.
And… this place was a mess! The floor was full of all types of human clothes scattered around its layout. It was mostly a combination of pirate outfits and pajamas. A closet. A nightstand, with a picture of a much younger Erika along what seemed like very short Tinkermon, both being carried by a digimon Bu had probably never seen. A full-body mirror by the corner. And a king size bed, that was definitely not made. On top of the bed, however, a box could be found.
What would Bu decide to furtherly explore between all of these things?
The kitchen of the Age of Erika was a pretty average kitchen. Wooden counters, a stove oven, a fridge, and a wooden table. Attached to the walls, multiple wooden cupboards could be seen. Each of them had a small ladder next to it, so small digimon could reach them without trouble. If Fuu decided to open some of those, she would find frying pans, pots, a mixer, a kettle, and all types of kitchen utensils that she could need to make a good meal.
Erika wasn’t back yet, but time was running out and the crew was hungry, so why not start working right now?
Their small trip was drawing to its end, and they were soon to be at Uka Island.

Did Elecmon book helped? "...More like there's a clue there. Captain, this is made by our target, right? Is this the only copy or there are more like this? Or is this some sort of book that he entrusted only to us? My question pertained to the fact that our pursuers seem to be heading the same way as us... if they go there with this book as guidance, they might find the same shack as us..."
Koharu offered the bookmarker... Which is actually an advertising card.
"The Aftermath... sounded like a shop or something." then she showed the page where there are hints about how to do codes. "And here... it sounded like the two are related somehow. Perhaps we'll see when we get there... but all thing considered, we have to deal with the Hangyomons first if they're led by the same thing..."
Map? Koharu returned to the steering wheel and moved the ship as much as possible away from the galleon, lest they noticed the jolly rogers and whatnot.
"Oh right, map, it's going along smoothly... see?"
It's currently almost 1:1 copy of the sample map in the book, but still lacking some detailings, perhaps because Koharu wanted to add some notes there. The penmanship, the drawing, are definitely readable and clear. The guiding lines are there too.

Bu had the slightest inkling that maybe she should make this quick. This room was a bit of a mess, to put things simply, and nowhere in the vast emptiness of the Ryudamon's head did the idea that going through a girl's room is...probably not in good form. That and Ophelia probably wouldn't want to hear about that.
"...Cute picture." Bu noted at the photo as she scanned the room, before she laid her eyes on...the box. That's what she was told about, right? She carefully made her way through the mess, and clambered onto the bed to take a look inside the box. If the batteries she needed were there, she'd quickly take them and leave the room, no questions asked. If not, she'd start looking for them! This might not have been the greatest kitchen in the world, but Fuu felt like this was more than enough to work with, even for one as unskilled at cooking as herself. First and foremost, she went to get the stove going so she could prepare the chicken. It was an incredibly simple meal. Just throw the chicken in after lathering it up with sauce, and serve the fruit on the side.
While the chicken was cooking, Fuu would go to start setting the table with utensils, returning every so often to check on the food. When it was complete, she'd divvy it up between herself, Bu, Erika, Koharu, Kon-chan and Warg. Enough chicken (and fruits) for the six of them.
Hopefully the sauce was good enough, cause she didn't actually check what it was. Maybe something spicy? Who knows!

First, Erika clipped the bookmarker with two fingers. “Interesting.”She stated, looking closely at the card. Then, she went to respond to Koharu’s inquiry. “That’s an excellent question. This book belonged to my father so I really don’t know if this was an exclusive edition. Could it be it was a gift from Elecmon himself to him? We never talked about it while he was alive. That means I don’t know if they were friends.” There was, however, something strange about all of this.
“I sincerely doubt that bookmarker has been there forever. If my dad used this book, it means he was the one using that bookmarker. Which means it’s likely the navy has no lead to The Aftermath. But could we really call that a lead, if the card belonged to my father?” Finally, there was one last question to consider. “But then again, isn’t it too much of a coincidence this card leads to Uka Island, the same place where the author of the book comes from?” After handing the card back to Koharu, Erika just crossed her arms and lowered her gaze, trying to use the power inside each of her neurons. “Ugh. This is just too complicated!”
Then, Koharu showed her the progress of the map. “That’s excellent. Good job.” She showed a smile to her peer. “Maybe you’d want to add something that indicates there’s a checkpoint for the Navy here? If they have a galleon that big, I’m sure they frequently use this spot as a checkpoint then.”
Again, Erika looked at the horizon. “Seems like the wind is in our favor.” It did. They were getting closer to Uka Island with every ticking second. “I should go back and help Fuu finish cooking. I’ll let you know when we’re ready to eat.” With this, the Captain went back below deck.
Bu’s little expedition inside the mythical labyrinth that was Erika’s bedroom had been a success. After browsing for a while, she had found a battery with the letters AA-4 engraved in its frontal side. With this, she would depart to take it back to Kon.
Once she was back at the room with the machine, the duo would find out the battery... Fit perfectly inside that gap! And as soon as they put it and plugged all of the cables, the thing would start making a dim sound and vibrating slightly, like its motor was running. If they took a look at the screen, it would show a loading bar. Apparently, the gadget was starting up. The bar moved too slowly, though!
They wouldn't have time to wait until the process was completed. Erika's voice would promptly reach their ears.
Although Erika got to the kitchen while Fuu was barely halfway through the cooking of the meal, she decided to not interrupt a genius at work. She would be of more help by not getting in the way, right? Still, the pink-haired captain did hand some of the required items or ingredients to the Dorumon, and was in charge of preparing the table. It all looked very good!
Right before they were ready to serve, the pirate girl remembered something that couldn’t be missing in this table. “I’ll go get the beer!” Then, her mouth wrinkled upon remembering one of her crewmates didn’t fair with alcohol. “Do you think you could make some juice for Koharu? We did bring enough fruits, I think.” With this, she stormed out of the kitchen. Only to come back again a second later. “By the way! You should tell her and Warg it’s time to eat! I’ll let your sister and Kon know!”
Erika ran back downstairs, heading for the warehouse to carry a middle-sized barrel of beer to the kitchen. They should really have plenty of those already there. While the captain struggled to carry the thing upstairs, she did yell out loud through the hall, so her crewmates could hear her.
“Food is ready! Fuu is waiting for everyone in the kitchen!”
Everyone should stop what they were doing right now and go to eat. Their cruise, for now, was over. They were almost at Uka Island. Once everyone got to the table, maybe it would be a good moment to discuss their action plan, considering they were about to land.

Another mystery huh. Well, if this is left in here, that means that either the Elecmon is trying to hid himself, or wishes to join Erika's father crew... But considering that promotion card is here, that means it's entrusted to them somehow? Is it a test for the new captain and her crew?
"Well, as they said, pirates always have a secret or two. Something that sounded mundane for normal person could be actually very important for the pirates themselves. It could be leading to somewhere secret. Or you could think it as some sort of secret your father and the Elecmon shared."
And a checkpoint to be marked on the map? Got it. Koharu immediately draw it with certain code.
Soon after the food is ready. Koharu decided that her job here is done. "Warg, later switch with Kon-chan just in case when you're ready to eat. I'll tell her to eat first."
Looks like they share the same idea. As great it is to eat together, they need to watch out for enemies in time of danger, especially now that they're approaching Uka Island.
"Got it, thanks Anego."
"Make sure to take about thirty minutes break later, alright?"
"Yeah, got it."
Koharu stored all of her craft items and headed down the deck, to where the dining room is. Kon-chan meanwhile still thinking about the machine...
"Kon-chan, it's time to eat."
"Is it fine if I eat here?" the dragon asked, eyes still affixed on the machine.
"You should probably talk to the captain. I'll have you relief Warg after this you know?"
"For how long?"
"Thirty minute-ish? He's been huddled up in that crow's nest. I'd like him to get a bit of a break if possible."
"Roger that then."
Kon-chan and Koharu then headed toward the kitchen.
"So, about what's going on..."
Koharu explained what she and Warg saw on the outside, about how their enemy in this adventure is heading there faster than they did, and how Warg prefer to keep on watch first until the rest already ate, then would eat himself.
"As for me, I'd like to watch more on the machine if possible. Admittedly if I have to relief Warg so that he can eat, that means I have to eat in that room just in case, is it fine?" Kon-chan asked.

Contrary to the captain's belief, her presence wasn't bothering Fuu in the slightest. In fact, quite the opposite. She was pretty happy to have her help in preparing the food (and serving it) when it was needed. "Juice? Yeah, I should be able to. Hm..."
Fuu took a quick glance towards the remaining fruit (there had been quite a bit) she brought up. Fortunately, there was enough to make some juice for Koharu as needed. The table was set, so she darted out of the kitchen and upstairs, before yelling "FOOD'S READY!" at the top of her lungs, before she ran right back down. Bu had been elated to find that her expedition into Erika's bedroom had yielded the exact battery required for the machine. However, it was quickly reveal that this thing must be getting up there in terms of age. And unlike fine wine, it wasn't a good kind of age. Why?
Because it was slow. It was legitimately slow as molasses. "...Yeah, I'm gonna go eat." Bu decided after hearing Erika call them. "If my estimates are correct, the bar'll move slow enough to allot a few minutes for that." She mused as she went to the kitchen to chow down.
...Speaking of the kitchen, Fuu started eating the moment her sister got into the room. Bu meanwhile decided to enjoy BOOZE.

Reunited at last! … Kind of. “Uh. I guess that does make sense.” Sometimes, the captain was not very good at being an actual captain, which made her prioritize things like having a good time with her crew over their actual duties. However, what Koharu had said was right, it was better if someone was on the lookout. But she was not letting Kon-Chan eat by herself if it was not absolutely necessary. And it wasn’t. “No! I want you to eat here with us, Kon. Please?” She showed her classic tender smile to the Commandramon. Hard to say no to that, huh? Actually… It would require a bit of everyone’s effort, but Erika had suggested they took absolutely everything here up to the deck to eat there. Once they did, it was just a matter that someone took his plate to Warg up in the crow nest. With the Guilmon eating high above and the rest having their meal around the table, the crew could finally share some well-deserved time together. “Fuu… this is very good!” Her eyes widening just from the taste of her food, the captain looked at the chef. She had done an amazing job! After this, she just went ahead to stuff her mouth with everything the table had to offer for her. Once they were done eating, their pink-haired captain would stand up and raise a glass full of beer into the air, her eyes going through her whole crew and holding a smile on her face. “Kayo! We just had our first official feast as the Pirates of the Treasure!” Someone should match her excitement or she would feel bad! “And I just want to say…” The captain’s tone of voice sounded a lot calmer now. “Thank you, for being here.” he really meant that. And, again, her next words would be filled with excitement and eagerness. “Now let’s find that Elecmon!”They were definitely about to start looking. Uka Island was right ahead of them! Once Warg called ‘Land Ahoy’, Erika would unlock the rudder and start maneuvering to go around the island and look for the docks. From the outside, it looked like a pretty simple island, only a small town by the middle of it, and not too much vegetation around the small metropolis. The docks consisted of a large, wooden platform located by the southern side of the island. Three ships seemed to be anchored to this dock, only one of them stood out from the rest, mainly due to having most of its wood painted in black. “Time to reef those sails!” Erika ordered. Once her sailing masters complied, they would finally stop. “That is… mainly a security measure.” They didn’t need to reef the sails if they were anchoring the ship. However, it was definitely safer. “Can you… help me with this?” Erika peeked overboard by the eastern side of the deck. Attached to the side of the vessel, a black anchor could be found. “You just need to detach it and throw it in that podium.” Said Erika, pointing at a rectangular, white platform on top of the wooden dock, next to their ship. The rest of the ships seemed to be anchored to their own of those white podiums. Once the anchor had been dropped, the device would lock and secure the anchor, almost as if it had absorbed the device. “Those are pretty safe.” The white accessory then deployed a lid, containing a golden key. “We’ll need that key to actually be able to weigh anchors. So someone should keep it.” Who'd be the one to take this? The same wooden ladder from before was thrown off board, so the crew could actually get off the ship. Erika waited until everyone had gone down the ladder to do the same. They had officially landed at Uka Island!

Well this is unexpected. Instead of eating down here, they bring the tables and everything to the deck because the captain wanted to eat together? At first Warg just hummed as he watched for anything up there in that crew next, and even tie bandanna over his head like a pirate... but upon hearing that sound of moving furniture on the deck, he immediately tried to look at what happened... Only to laugh his ass off at the situation, so much that he teared up.
Their captain is a precious, lovable idiot.
Kon-chan at first tried to protest, but upon hearing this sort of compromise, she too just smiled and shook her head wryly. The captain is just unbelievable, but she guess she know now that she's putting her hope up on the right person. The trio enjoyed their food merrily, toasting with the captain and cheered.
"You know, I admit, this is the first time I saw the captain ordered the food to be carried up here just because she want to have a feast with all her crew," Warg commented. "Not the best move as a pirate, but absolutely the right move as a person. Captain, you're funny, but I feel like we're right to join your crew."
"I'll echo that," Kon-chan agreed after sipping her own drink. "Gaius Julius Caesar ate together with his troop to boost morale. His food and drink are the same with their own. To have this sort of camaraderie is an important thing to do. It's not 'normal', but it's definitely 'right'. So, cheers for the captain!"
The other of the trio echoed that.
Once they're done with their feast and cleaned up the deck from the furnitures, Warg saw the island.
"LAND AHOY!" he called out. "Uka Island is upon us!"
Koharu at this time completed her map. It's ready to be added with anything the find on the road. "Do you want to hold to this, Captain?" the navigator and cartographer asked.
Reeling the sails is a bit of a work, but they managed to do it fast enough for proper landing. Why should the anchor be tossed to that podium though? She thought that it's enough to toss the anchor to the water? But apparently it's safer this way. Warg and Kon-chan tossed the anchor at the podium as requested.
"I think I have enough on my hand at the moment," Koharu answered. "How about leaving the key to Fuu?" she suggested. With this the trio disembarked and stretched their legs. Being on the land after all that rocking on the sea felt nice.

Well, the idea of just eating out on the deck was actually incredibly unprecedented for both Bu and Fuu alike. It took a fair amount of effort from everyone involved, but they managed to get the tables and chairs up to the top deck. During this, Fuu made a little conclusion that the captain...wanted everyone to be happy in this endeavor.
She couldn't fault her for that. In fact, the Dorumon thought that to be admirable! While the twins had no knowledge on any historical significance regarding the captain eating with her own crew, they thought the praise being leveraged towards Fuu was well-deserved. After all, for how simple the meal prepared was?
It was actually pretty good. Their first feast, and she had managed not to botch it horrifically! Wasn't that nice? "Thank you for having us along!" Fuu stated, in response to Erika's gratitude. Bu joined in on the cheering for Erika, herself. Now then, more important things were at hand.
Land was upon them, and Uka Island was just ahead of them. Fuu glanced to her crewmates after they had managed to prepare the ship for a proper landing. "Yeah, I can hold onto the key. Unlike my sister, I can actually keep track of things, so...The anchor key's safe with me." She extended a paw for the key!
"Hey..." Bu began. "How should we proceed from here? Do we stick together or split up?"
