Persistent little buggers, aren't they?
Given his current position, Denryu couldn't really afford to pull away Angel or Demon away from their current fights without losing too much ground. This meant that he had to handle the Rocketmon situation on his own - but if Jekyll and Hyde were expecting the General to panic just because they got close, they were mistaken.
Not only did the General slip past, but he easily outpaced the two Rookie equivalents with a faster 'rocket' of his own, quickly slipping far off Demon's right side. If the Rocketmon pursued that far, one of the next bolts of 'Raider's Lightning' would fall right upon them - at the very least cutting off the path of their pursuit.
Between them all, Demon probably found himself in the toughest bind. Though he had an advantage in the air, it didn't take long for those that made the Blimpmon to make sense of it, and quickly make the decision to make a grounded form. This would have ordinarily made Demon scoff, but taking the ground was an alright decision... if the form was fucking made of guns!
"GRR!"
"Calm, there, Demon! We haven't let up on the offensive, not by a longshot!"
Fair enough! After a brief moment-of-a-monent of internal thought, the Devidramon tensed its wings, giving a powerful wingbeat towards the oncoming bullets, sending a short-range 'shotgun blast' of wind to divert at least some of the oncoming fire. The beast grit his fangs as the bullets tore across his arms and legs, Demon subsequently going into a dive, down and away from the Tankdramon's line of fire, until he'd land heavily on the surface below. Though, that was largely a show to draw attention, away from the fox's antics behind him.
As for Angel? Well, she was by far in the best position, and still had Denryu on radio as an active spotter!
"Powerful missile salvo from behind. Upwards, sixty degree incline, approach from 80 meters. Trust your throwing arm."
"Says the one not getting pounded by a fucking sound cannon..."
Angel grit her teeth. Her buckler did a good job shielding her eyes from that powerful blast of light, the fox still managing to make a gain on her pursuit. Being blinded, however, didn't impact her next action: with that same free hand holding the shield, Angel drew a seed pod, and simply, seemingly blindly, threw it right over her shoulder in the direction the General had indicated. In the next moment, the pod would tear open, a powerful Diamond Storm forcing its way into the projectile to force its early detonation!
Not only that, but Raider's Lightning was not a single blast - the BlackMegaGargomon would once more have a bolt surge at him from above!
The intercom between the three was proving quite effective, at this point - though, otherwise, the fox was currently forcing herself to work through hazy vision as she stretched her way to the target!
Raider's Lightning persists. If the Rocketmon pursue, one bolt will strike down at their position. In either case, the second bolt will fire at BlackMegaGargomon Demon is wounded by Tankdramon's efforts, and makes no attack towards the target as he attempts to ground himself. He instead used 'Deathly Gale' to divert some of the projectiles. Angel is largely blinded by the Flash Cannon - but still uses Diamond Grenade to intercept the incoming missile. Techniques Deathly Gale Devidramon opens a claw, an eye giving off a verdant glow. From the palm, a wide blast of razor sharp wind roars out in a shotgun pattern.
Diamond Storm - Grenade An upgrade on Diamond Storm, Renamon conjures a seed pod into one of her hands, and hurls it into the air. After a short duration, a 'Diamond Storm' - a set of enhanced, sharpened leaves - erupt from the thrown seed's position, towards a target. One post cooldown. Cards Used: 3/7 Electrical Breaker CD: 2/3 Grani Duration: 2/3 Raider's Lightning Duration: 2/3

"Pour on the pressure, captain! You're turning the tables!"
"Sir." Maybe it wasn't a solid hit, but Tankdramon was not blind to the disadvantage at which Demon quite apparently thought himself to be. Unfortunately, it seemed that was a trick which would only work once: Demon had grounded himself. No matter. Since when was a sitting duck less vulnerable than a flying one, anyway? As Demon dived, Tankdramon followed with the barrels of his big cannons even after they stopped shooting. His guns weren't quiet for long. "Firing main cannon." Boom! This time the big guns shot explosive shells rather than missiles. These were flying straight and true at their sitting duck of a target. Hopefully they struck, else at that velocity they may just ruin the day of some poor Rustport residents (hyperbolically speaking)! The explosive force out of the barrels was enough to stir up dust all around Tankdramon. But defeating Demon was, sadly, not the goal. Protecting Tadayoshi was it, or was one of two. Boy, was he in need! "Did she just- no way!" His mounted cannon had to reload, and so without missile cover he was getting a little hot under the collar despite the APC's oddly excellent air conditioning. Nothing was stopping Angel's chase for a few moments but dust in her eyes kicked up by the vehicle and its own attempts to speed away, though he was only delaying the inevitable with the difference in speeds. Luckily, missile cover wasn't completely gone: "Want seconds?" was Renamon-Angel's only warning before a second missile gave chase to the chaser. Before she could launch any more, though, she cried out and began to fall, wincing from the good shock she had just taken.
That gave Tadayoshi an idea. "Angel, I got a plan. Gonna need you to show some good aim!"
As Tadayoshi steered to drive under Angel, Angel leveled back out and flew over him in the opposite direction, dangerously low but not quite enough for collision. This had the net effect of sandwiching the Renamon between a missile behind and a MegaGargomon charging from the front. "Slow down, girlie! Jet Thrust!" Once again Angel turned on the juice for a burst of extra speed with the intention of tackling the other Renamon off her path.
On the offensive front, Jekyll and Hyde came uncomfortably close to flying straight through that hazard. Hyde actually refused to break off; the only reason he avoided getting nailed by an ultimate attack was that his faithful brother bumped him from the side and drove him away by force. "What the frag, you moron?"
"I'm not gonna die over a training exercise!" was Jekyll's excuse. Oh, what a delay! Together they had to circle around the obstruction, and that combined with Grani's excellent speed, Denryu had indeed bought himself quite a comfortable cushion of time. The best the rocket brothers could do was put on their jets and do their best like they were told.
"Don't give up that chase, guys. I got a plan, and you're the key," they could ear over their comm links. "Hey, uh, General? Does your plan involve shooting this gnat outta the sky?"
"Not exactly. Standby."
Hyde growled. "Fine."
This battle sure was getting busy. Between all the explosions, the dust, the noise, and the pursuits, it was probably very hard to notice that out of the eight MetalKoromon who had stuck to the APC earlier, only seven were still there.
Tankdramon attacked Demon with Shell Shock. -Shell Shock: This digimon shoots a pair of high explosive shells from his main cannons to deal damage. This ability’s damage is boosted by 50% and is unaffected by other abilities meant to block it or reduce its damage. Cooldown: 2 posts. -Relevant Passive Wild Fire (passive): This digimon is packing dangerously heavy weapons, but they’re cumbersome and difficult to aim. Base damage is boosted by 40%, but base accuracy is reduced by 10%.
Angel's second Twin Missile targetted Angel. -Twin Missile: This digimon launches one of her missiles immediately at a target and a second missile in the next post (not taking an action). Each missile does half a mega attack's usual damage but must be separately dodged or otherwise defended against to avoid damage. Cooldown: 3 posts.
Angel used Jet Thrust. -Jet Thrust: This digimon activates afterburners increase its speed by 50% for three posts. Cooldown: 3 posts.
Angel attempted to tackle Angel midair. Shell Shock must cool down: 2 posts remaining. Jet Thrust must cool down: 3 posts remaining.
Air Blaster must cool down: 1 posts remaining. Twin Missile must cool down: 2 posts remaining. Active Camo has finished cooling down.

Alright, alright, things were going a little better for Demon. Against an anti-air specialist, it would have been tricky to maneuver around the explosions - but at middle range, Tankdramon's cannons were relatively easy to predict. The long barrels of the main cannons could support an impressive artillery - but on the other hand, it made the gunner's aim and intent relatively easy to predict:
Two salvos aimed dead center. We should -
Clog the airspace.
Demon didn't even wait for the Tankdramon to fire: instead, with tensed claws, he fired out his own ranged ability, his Crimson Arc, letting out an arc of electrical energy from each of his claws, aimed towards each of the cannons. The matching explosive rounds from the cannon would hit the wider projectiles instead of the ultimate directly, and, more importantly, kick up a massive amount of sand and dust into the air, obscuring the ability of the two fighters to see each-other. A momentary cover, in which Demon started to try and skirt anti-clockwise around the Tankdramon's position.
Denryu, meanwhile, kept his current position for the time being. Protected in large by 'Raider's Storm', the two bullets were largely unable to make an approach - and though he'd have to descend soon, he had at least one other vehicle-based card that he'd be able to use for the fight at hand. For the moment, though, he kept his focus on the 'Raider' Angel, still being pursued by the BlackMegaGargomon. A second missile and a direct approach from a swift target - what was the best way for Angel to counter that without losing pursuit on her target?
"Kohenkyo ready?"
"Yeah, but-"
"Ready your shield arm to counter the missile. Vanish and approach when you see a shadow."
Alright, a bit of blind trust, then! Angel tensed her arm in confirmation, waiting for Denryu's signal - and from his position, Denryu swiped a card of his own, a surge of power coursing through the Renamon's hand, culminating to a weapon in her hand. Bancho-Yo? The green, leaf-bladed yo-yo made the Renamon grit her teeth, but she hurled it in the same direction as the grenade before - this mega-level weapon slamming right into the head of the missile! The weapon itself was thrown awkwardly through the air, even breaking off the Renamon's hand, but the blunt use of it was enough to once-again divert the second missile.
As for the diving tackle from above, Angel once more used context clues - this time, the approaching shadow cast on the sand. Without confirming the machine's exact position, she'd vanish into a pile of leaves - and appear at least ten feet in front of that tackling body, cutting the distance between herself and the vehicle even more.
Metal Drive, at this point, wasn't interested in direct attacks. He was already forcing Silence's mega to act defensively - why would they risk a fight they didn't have to take?
Raider's lightning persists. If the Rocketmon pursue, one bolt will strike down at their position. A bolt is available for each Rocketmon, if necessary. Demon uses 'Crimson Arc' to intercept the oncoming shots, creating a smokescreen between the two of them. Denryu uses the modify card 'Bancho-Yo', empowering Angel's basic attacks with a yo-yo - used and sacrificed to hit the second Twin Missile. Angel uses 'Kohenkyo' to outpace the tackle, and hopefully leave the machine behind to pick themselves out of the sand. Techniques: JT-31 Card Name: Bancho-Yo Type: Upgrade Rank: Platinum Duration: 3 Posts Effect:: The target Digimon summons BanchoLilymon's yo-yo. It is an unpredictable weapon that can be twisted and turned in mid-swing.
Kohenkyo A short-ranged, active teleport within ten feet. This can be paired with a simple physical move. Two post cooldown.
Crimson Arc Combining the forces of electricity and darkness, Devidramon tenses a claw, charging it with electrical energy before thrusting the claw forward. The energy arcs out, drawn to strike the nearest enemy within twenty feet. One Post Cooldown Duration: Raider's Lightning - 3/3 Zero-Arms Grani: 3/3 Cards used: 4/7 CD: Electrical Breaker Ready Kohenkyo: 0/2 Crimson Arc: 0/1
