‘Access denied’
Their access to ‘all the things’ seemed to have been denied, and they could actually listen how all the drawers, shelves and any other item that could be opened inside that room had locked. Although it was true the answer given by Ziggy seemed to be far from correct, as a honk seemed to declare right after he issued his sentence, and even if David’s straightforward approach might not quite do the trick, something interesting was about to happen inside the Captain’s Cabin. Immediately, they could see the lights dimming out until they were definitely off. Only the light of the afternoon coming from the window illuminated the chamber now. Everything remained locked, but the robot (or any electrical device, for that matter) seemed to be gone. As expected, the vessel had reduced its speed greatly, too. It seemed like it was only being dragged forward by the wind, pushing those sails and the engine was not making it move any longer. Now that everything was so quiet, it was likely the duo could listen to something outside the cabin, at the deck. Were those… steps? In any case, something was certain: someone had turned off the whole ship. Who might that be…?
Well, their crewmate, of course! All systems had been shut, which was clearly evident at the operations floor. Although the light dimmed out too, it quickly went back on. Maybe there was a generator in charge of keeping this place always illuminated. That would make sense. Quickly, Amelie would notice the turbines inside the pool had been turned off, which allowed her to sink in and check the rudder directly. The problem would become very evident. There was a bunch of junk stuck to the rudder itself! What was that? If Amelie tried to inspect the items from up close, she would notice they seemed to be metallic objects, stuck to the rudder through magnetism, well-affixed to the main metallic blade. Of course the wheel was having trouble to move correctly, those items were probably keeping the rudder from doing so. How did those things get here, though? Not like it mattered right now. The beautiful blue-eyed would be able to take all of those impediments off the way with a little bit of effort. She should probably keep them away from the rudder, so they don’t stick again. Where could that be? Now that she was done with that, she just had to get out of the pool and turn the systems back up! Inventory:-Ganemon's Map. (Map) [Amelie] -Compass. More locks. More things barred to the rightful owners of the ship. Not only barred off, but upon giving incorrect answers to the voice, the whole ship just turned off! It really did just refuse to ackowledge the fact that piracy exists and that pirate ships weren't immune to such things. Considering the timing, it never crossed the minds of the pair that the outage was not caused by their actions.
"This is boring." It wasn't too unexpected that this running around in circles without gaining much of interest to a small boy would begin to disinterest him over time. The purpose of it was to pass time by exploring and maybe find something interesting on their trip to Trashland or whatever. This last lock seemed to just be the last straw for young David. Instead of continuing to look for solutions, David just pulled his DSlite out of his backpack and plopped down on the Captain's bed and began to play Power Rangers Super Legends.
Ziggy had something of the same mindset. However, there was still more he wanted to learn about the situation they were in. He would fish out the meeting journal from David's backpack on the floor and pull it up onto the bed. Finding a good spot where light from the singular window would shine right onto the book, he would begin to read it, starting at page one.
Soon thereafter, both heard some footsteps from outside the cabin, but just assumed it was Amelie wandering about, perhaps looking for them. "We're in here." Ziggy would shout without looking up from the book, loud enough that it should be able to be heard through the door. Well, that had been fairly easy! Getting rid of all the magnetic waste that seemed to populate the rudder seemed to be a rather simple process, even if one that'd take a fair bit of effort. What would she do with the waste? Sides trying to figure out who or why the rudder had been so weirdly sabotaged later, for now, the brunette would just get out of the water and store the offending metallic bits in a secluded compartment of her Infini-Store.
Amelie would dry herself first, and then would turn on the power again. She'd stay there for some additional moments to check if the rudder was completely fixed, and then would go back to the deck. With any luck, the course had been steady and there weren't any obstacles in sight.
Would she find David in her path? Seemed like it! "Hey, guys!" The brunette greeted them, a bit of a triumphant smile on her face. "I managed to fix the rudder, so getting to the trash island thing should be pretty easy now. How 'bout you? Found anything interesting?"
All things considered, the ship was probably pretty near its destination. There wasn't much else to do, except waiting for that inevitable moment.
It was only a matter of time for the attempt at parley with the Leomon to begin. How would it go?

Now that she had actually reached the room and gotten rid of the trash impeding the rudder’s proper movement, everything else would probably seem like a walk through the park for Amelie! She quickly turned off all the systems back on again, making the whole galleon acquire its regular levels of illumination. Excellent!
Regarding Ziggy and David, the pair seemed to have kind of given up on the ship. However, the events coming next would get them on their feet pretty quickly. The first page of the meeting journal spoke about how the meetings would last around an hour and were being held every two days with all of the members of the crew. Of course, the name of the crew could be found at the start of the first entry: “Ganemon’s Rockaboats.” Not like it would have been of much help. Even if they had known this, the ship's power had been taken down not too long after the question was thrown their way. There was, however, a very interesting piece of info to consider. “The new security system was installed at the Captain’s Cabin. Upon being rebooted, it will ask for the name of the crew and the captain. Then, it will save that name for future occasions. Once the names have been set, the system will ask for those names in order to access all of the compartments in the cabin. The only way to reboot the system is to shut down the power around the deck.”As the steps outside approximated the room, Ziggy and David would notice they sounded… very different from a human's steps. They were shorter and… rusty. Like something wearing armor was walking on deck. Soon enough, they would notice there were actually many steps that sounded the same and whatever was out there moved quite fast! To top all of that, of course, they were heading that way! “Okay’ya! State your intentions to navigate our seas right now’ya!” A young male voice spoke as a group of three crab digimon entered the room, their pincers held high, pointing everywhere. They were… small; around Ziggy’s size. The one at the middle, who seemed to be their leader, was wearing a little pirate hat, with a self-drawn design of a skull. When the Ganimon’s gaze actually found David and Ziggy in the darkness, the digimon blinked twice. “A… Human?” Before any other word could be issued, the lights went back on across the whole deck, including the captain’s cabin that had recently been invaded. The three crustaceans looked up, a bit startled. Immediately, the robotic female voice that had received the kid and his digimon some minutes ago spoke again. “The systems have been rebooted. Please state the name of your crew and the captain.”
For less than half a second, the group of Ganimon’s looked actually confused. However, their leader quickly responded. “We are the Mollusca Pirates! And I’m their leader, Burb the Ganimon’ya!” “Understood, captain Burb. You can now access all of the ship’s features and closed compartments just through your voice.”Oh… crap. Had their ship just been… hijacked!? It was then when Amelie would go back to the ship's deck. There did not seem to be anything that was going to be immediately in their way across the sea. Although she could see the shape of a piece of land not too far away from them! The wheel was working perfectly now, too. From there, it would not take her long to notice there was a group of crabs standing at the door of that cabin by the end of the deck, looking inside! A couple of them had actually noticed the much taller human. “M-Major…” One of them knocked the leader’s armor with its pincer, while he raised his gaze to actually look the French woman into her blue eyes. “What is it…?” Burb turned, letting out a gasp as soon as he saw the brunette. “Another human’ya!”Immediately, the three Ganimon covered each other’s backs, raising their arms and taking a defensive stance. “Step back! I warn you’ya!”How should they deal with this turn of events? OOC:The thread has gone back to Regular Mode. Neither David nor Ziggy were really looking at the door or paying attention. After all, it was only the three of them on the ship, so they could afford to get lost in their own pursuits; David in his game and Ziggy in the book. The very first page of the book they had found earlier contained the easy answer that would have been so helpful a few minutes ago.
When the footsteps became louder, Ziggy removed himself from the book and turned to face the door, listening closer. The steps were heavier and quicker paced. This wasn't Amelie unless she had suddenly gained some armor boots. She had mentioned she was a spirit wielder, so it would be possible, though unlikely. Something else was here. Something antagonistic. And so, Ziggy readied himself between the door and David, ready to protect his Tamer.
As soon as the door opened at Ziggy saw that there were multiple mons, that completely eliminated the possibility of this being one of Amelie's forms. So without hesitation, he shot off an Aqua Tower centered around the front-most one while still in the doorway. This attack would be angled about 10 degrees from the ground away from the tamer/mon pair. Hopefully, this would expel the trio from the room, though likely wouldn't send them far since they were made of metal and all.
"HU-" David exclaimed in surprise as some crabs busted into the room, followed by Ziggy's attack, and the just at the generally startling noises of it all. In his surprise, he went to attack the direction that all the commotion had come from, hurtling the closest object to him. In this case, it was what was already in his hands; a precious DS-Lite. If it didn't shatter on impact with a metal crab, the water from Ziggy's aquatic attack would surely destroy it beyond repair. "Wait. Shoot!" Realization of what he had just done set in a bit too late.
Should Ziggy's assault have knocked them out of the room, David had a chance to do something amazing, and this boy was not going to throw away his shot. When the system rebooted, David wouldn't waste any time. "I am David Copeland, King of the pirates, and we are Lightspeed Rescue."
Should Ziggy's assault not be enough to repel or dissuade the Ganimon, and they still succeeded in taking over the room's systems, he would set himself in a defensive stance atop the bed, retaining the high ground and question the intruders with obvious trepidation. "Wh-What do you want?" Ignoring the earlier interrogative statement. Out on the endless ocean/ we tear along the gales/ with rum inside our bellies warm/ and freedom in our sails~ Aqua Tower: Ziggy focuses on any point on a surface he can see or is reasonably aware of within his line of sight. From this spot, a cylinder of water roughly five feet long and one foot in diameter rises up with enough force to push away smaller objects. While usually this spout appears perpendicular to the surface, Ziggy can actually launch it at any angle he chooses, but it cannot be changed after the technique has begun.

Who would've thought? Things would get pretty dicey on the ship's deck. From the obviously shady process of establishing the ship's captain to the three crabby pirates that had less-than-pure intentions regarding the crew's integrity.
What would Amelie do, when facing such a scene? For one, it seemed like the Ganimon weren't up to anything good, but the girl was above compromising the ship's integrity for something as trivial as kicking out three unwanted visitors. At the warning issued in her direction, she rolled her eyes at first, then glowered at whoever happened to talk to her.
"Threatening somebody while on their own ship isn't something smart to do, y'know?" Her tone was less-than-friendly, and that was to say the least. "Consider what Ziggy over there did as a warning shot. You have exactly five seconds to explain what you're doing on board without the captain's permission. We might reserve the right to kick you out anyway if your reason isn't good enough. I'm waiting."
While her first instinct was just to evolve and begun brawling, that'd quite possibly throw out of the window the chances for any diplomatic resolution. Sure, it was a token effort, but the intent was what counted, right? Sides, if David and Ziggy wanted to communicate anything in particular to her while in this situation, giving them some moments to do it was probably the smart thing to do.
One thing was assured for the crabs, though. Time was running out for them if they wanted to escape with their exoskeletons intact.

The crew was right about something, everything had happened too fast! And that was the reason why Ziggy’s attack stroke just a bit too late. When he managed to shoot the water nozzle towards the crabs (which was clearly effective), their leader had already registered his data with the robot at the captain’s cabin, his voice had been heard, and he was the new captain of this ship, at least for what the system concerned.
However, what Amelie would find upon reaching the deck were three crabs scattered around the wood, being drifted away by Ziggy’s water around the whole surface, and… kind of panicking. Of course, this made the words coming out of Burb sound even less threatening… if that was even possible.
“What do you mean 'without the captain’s permission’ya? I’m the captain now’ya!”
“Yes, he’s the captain!” One of the other two backed Burb’s words, as they tried to stand up and reincorporate.
“Besides, you’re in the territory of the Mollusca Pirates! So we are allowed to enter whatever is in our territory’ya!” The Ganimon finally managed to “stand up” and aimed his pincer at the blue-eyed.
“Yeah, we are!”
While they spoke, the ship had kept moving. Right now, they were less than a mile away from the island they could see in the horizon before. Being this close, it was easy to tell this was… exactly their destination. It was a fairly sized pile of metallic, rusted parts of all kinds that seemed to have been gathered to make some sort of surface. At the center, some sort of edification stood up. It was very uncouth and it did not even have a defined shape. Just like the rest of the island, it was like if someone had just put a bunch of random crap together to build it.
“Major…!” One of the Ganimon pointed forward, warning their leader.
“Damn it! We’re too close from that Leomon’s island!” He desperately looked around, trying to find options to avoid colliding into it. Then, his eyes widened, as if he just got an idea. “Robot, thing! Stop the ship!”
“Understood. Stopping the ship.”
What would happen next would probably make everyone with only two legs be shaken up. In a sudden movement, the vessel’s speed went to zero, stopping right away. It was just… not moving anymore.
“A-Amazing…” One of the crabs muttered.

Though fearful for a moment, this was what David had been waiting for. More real pirate stuff instead of exploring a boring old ship that didn't want them to do anything fun, and so the boy quickly regained his confidence. After Ziggy's attack, the child made his way to the doorframe and stood as if already triumphant, pointing an accusing finger at the crabs. "Well guess what. We're pirates, too. We were going to deal with Leomon, but since you say these are your seas, I guess I'll just pirate them, too. What can you do, Mucus"
"Mollusca,"
"pirates? We have you fanked."
"Flanked."
"Right." During David's short monologue, Ziggy had come up from behind and made his way in front of his tamer again by coming through his legs. It seemed that the boy wanted to fight, even though his mon most certainly did not. However, Ziggy would do anything to protect his partner. He took a firm stance on the ground as he built up electricity in his own body. A couple of small sparks were beginning to visibly run across his body as he prepared, yet did not yet launch an Electric Cloud. If any of the soaked mons made of metal came close or acted with any aggression towards David, Ziggy would set off the attack. David might feel a little shock, but it would mostly dissipate and be grounded by his rubber shoe soles. Something made of wet metal would likely not get off so easy.
"So. Which will it be? Will you give me back our ship, or will First Mates Ziggy and Amelie have to make you walk the plank?" Could one even have two first mates? Did this ship have a plank to walk off? Questions for later. Out on the endless ocean/ we tear along the gales/ with rum inside our bellies warm/ and freedom in our sails~

At least it seemed that, right now, the two crews were in an obvious disagreement, even though it seemed like both David and Ziggy were looking to resolve this through diplomacy if it could be helped. That was fine, and honestly, it was Amy's preferred method when tackling this kind of issues, all things considered. The crabs looked like they weren't giving them their ship back, but considering how nervous they were, it pretty much seemed like bravado was all they had going for them.
"David's right. We're here to deal with the Leomon you're so scared of. Why do you think you have any chance against us?" If that was possible, her tone was even more confident than usual. "Do you think it'd be smart to try to pull that kinda trick on us? You honestly should feel grateful that we're letting y'all leave with a slap on the wrist at most. Beats getting deleted or worse any day of the week, amiright?"
The fact that they were getting acquainted with her ship's systems was mildly aggravating, but resolving this one in a way that didn't incur in any kind of collateral damage to the vessel was probably the way to go. The brunette's patience was running out for sure; this was probably the last chance the crabs would get to submit peacefully. If they decided to test their luck... then all bets would be off.

As the galleon’s original crew spoke, the crabs slowly started walking backward towards each other, covering their partner’s backs. This seemed to be their signature position when they were at peril; the crustaceans seemed ready to take care of each other at all times. Mainly due to ignorance, the group of digimon seemed to be more scared about Ziggy than Amelie, considering he had a bolt of energy charged and seemed ready to shoot towards them. Burb’s eyes went to his partners, who had their pincers raised and seemed ready to fight. Then, these same eyes drifted towards David, Ziggy and, finally, Amelie. The pirate clenched his teeth upon realizing negotiating was probably their best option.
“Everyone wait'ya!” He yelled. Should his enemies give him the chance to talk, a very interesting negotiation would begin. “You said you came here to deal with Leomon, didn’t ya'?” He asked, his eyes going from Amelie to David rapidly. The rest of the Mollusca Pirates’ eyes widened; he was right! They did say that.
“If that’s the case, our enemy is exactly the same’ya.” A short pause ensued. “That bastard built that hideout in our territory, so we want to destroy that ugly excuse for an island and get the Mollusca Sea back!” Now, a predatory smile appeared on the crab’s face. The rest of the Ganimon smiled too. “And, honestly? A ship this big looks like the perfect thing to ram against that island. It’d probably destroy the ship, but the island wouldn’t fair off a lot better, ya' know?”
The two crabs, their backs still against Burb’s, chuckled.
“I’m sure if I order that robot thing to go in a straight line against the island, you wouldn’t be able to stop it without destroying your ship, am I right’ya?”
“Yes!” The rest of the crew laughed loudly. “Do it, Major!”
It was clear the invaders were trying to make a point about them having some type of advantage too. They were the owners of the whole vessel they were on right now, after all!
“I just need to give the order and your ship will be sailing towards destruction with no hope of being saved in one piece’ya. Since neither of us wants that to happen, what'ya think if we work together? You help us destroy that Leomon’s stupid trash pile and we’ll give you back your ship’ya.”
A deal was on the table. Was Lightspeed Rescue going to take it? And, if they weren’t, what would they do next, having their ship in such a compromised spot?

David visibly reeled back a bit when the mention of crashing the ship into Leomon's island was brought up, but quickly regained his composure. A sly smirk appeared on his face as a chuckle escaped from it. Ziggy turned his head up inquisitively towards his partner. This was starkly out of character for the young boy. Where had all this misplaced confidence come from? Well it was all from David being too caught up in this fantasy of a strong and capable Pirate Captain.
"Do you think we're stupid?" David wouldn't give an inch, and certainly wouldn't let these crabs take control of negotiations. "We still have the Gokai Galleon. We're going to see Leomon, and if you break his home with this ship, we'll be glad to let him know it was the Mole Husk-
"Mollusca."
"Pirates who did it."
It is said that fear could be a powerful motivator, and there was one great truth in David's mind. In order to win this argument, they needed both their ship back and to stay put. Anything less was a total wash and unacceptable. David had more cards to play, most notably the Digiport function of his digivice which, since they now had a map of everything immediately relevant, meant they could just port to wherever they needed in 10 minutes even without a ship.
"Y-yeah. So you better leave or it-it'll only get worse for you." Ziggy himself hated this. He didn't want conflict. He had never been in an actual fight before. However, there wasn't time to get David to back down in this situation, so he had no choice but to go along with this madness. Hopefully, the Ganimon would just back down and they could get on with the task at hand. Maybe Amelie could help sow doubt and fear to double down. It seemed like they were negotiating now! Things seemed to be going rather swimmingly, at least until the crabs pretended to state they had the upper hand in this whole deal. It wasn't hard to tell that Amelie wasn't very entertained at the notion; she waited until David and Ziggy were done speaking before saying her own piece.
"Look, I have no problem with collaborating with you three as long as you prove to be helpful; we're planning on negotiating with the Leomon, like it or not. If you think you can coerce us into doing otherwise, then I'll have to inform you're sorely mistaken; personally, I couldn't care less about what happens to this ship, and can probably replace it at some point if I so desire."
The brunette made a small pause before continuing, a predatory smirk already showing in her features. "You know what can't be replaced, though? The lives of three crabmons that thought they were smart, but ended up swallowing more than what they could chew. If you do so much as to dare to break my toys, I'll take my sweet time dismembering you three; I have no hurry at all to proceed."
Ow, the edge. Yet, the tone currently being employed by Amy made those words somewhat intimidating, especially how confident she seemed about the fact that she could dispatch the three crabs in the blink of an eye. "So, I'm game for a temporary alliance, but don't dare to think you can boss any of us around, or change the core of our plan once we reach the Leomon's island. Hope that is clear enough; you can take the proposal, or I can get started with the lot of you right now. Your choice."
One thing was for sure; she wasn't falling for bravados or intimidation of any sort. If that was a good plan or not, that remained to be seen.

David was… right.
After the three Ganimon shifted their gaze towards the humans, their countenance started changing slowly from a confident smile into worriedness.
“Crap.” One of them muttered, while the other tightened up their mouths.
That was actually a goddam valid point! They couldn’t fight Leomon. They needed the island to be destroyed without the beast finding out who did it; therefore their best option was to have these two do it, and reaching an agreement was required in order for that to happen. However, an impasse had been reached, too. Now, the Mollusca Pirates’ attention went to Amelie, who issued some pretty threatening statements. Why? Why was this human so confident in taking them down? Where was her digimon, and how strong was her, actually?
One thing was for sure, she was at least partly lying. If she did not care about what happened to the ship, why was she interested in negotiating? In any case, reaching an agreement was probably for the best. They did not want to stay and find out what the human was capable of.
“W-What do you want from Leomon, exactly’ya? Maybe we can help a bit with that in exchange.” Burb asked, squinting his eyes at the Frenchwoman. That was a fairly important piece of information for these negotiations to proceed.
“We need the island to be destroyed!” One of the other Ganimon spoke. “You can negotiate whatever you want with Leomon, but once you come out of there, the island has to be torn to pieces, that’s our only condition!” Was the other's contribution.
It was clear the crabs only cared about getting their territory back. And that made sense! They were only protecting their own interests and, although it sounded like a difficult task at first, at least they were about to provide some kind of helpful information to fulfill it.
“Listen:” Burb lowered his pincers, addressing Lightspeed Rescue calmly. “We already put a bomb in that island’ya. We went inside their territory and placed the bomb at the southern part of it but… while we installed it, Leomon’s crew found us, and we had to escape'ya. The bomb is ready to detonate; we'd just have to tell you where we hid it and you'd just need to push the button. The thing will blow after the timer reaches zero.” That seemed like a pretty straight proposal: Destroy Leomon’s island in order to get the ship back.
“After you negotiate and get what you’re looking for, you just have to push the button and the whole thing will blow. Even if Leomon survives that explosion, that stupid beast pirate won’t be able to tell what hit them’ya!”
Could the addition of this 'secondary objective' be considered a 'change of core' regarding the original plan? The negotiation’s continued on board of the Galleon. Would Amelie, Ziggy, and David take this deal?

Amelie was so cool. In just an instant, she had taken complete control of the situation, and all she had to do was threaten their very lives. Yet despite that, it seemed that unlike David, who simply wanted to talk them into leaving, she wanted to actually work with the crabs. Well, that was fine. David would stop trying to scare them off the boat.
Then the question of what they wanted from Leomon came up. "We're going to take his....uhhhhh...." What was it again? Some treasure for someone, probably. David's shoulders and arm sort of slumped as he lost his powerful posture. Ziggy noticed his partner faltering and decided to play wingman, still lightly crackling with electricity that had yet to subside, "It doesn't matter. Your feud is with Leomon, not his stuff."
It was then that another crab spoke up, explaining that the situation had already been escalated WAY beyond what any of them signed up for? "YOU PUT A BOMB ON THE ISLAND?"
"Why would you even do that? We're just going to take back something he stole. Not kill him. That's not even- We're not helping you do that." David nodded in agreement, a shocked with abject horror. Playing pirate and taking some guy's stuff in good fun was one thing, but he had never met someone with actual murderous intent before. Unable to bring himself to say anything, the boy looked over at Amelie. She wouldn't go along with that, would she? No way. No chance. Right? It was a tough negotiation. On one side, there were the crabs that were hellbent on destroying the Leomon's island, and on the other, there were Ziggy and David who seemed to loathe the mention of deleting a digimon; something that was more than reasonable.
Like it or not, the crabs meant to put blood (or data, rather) on their hands. Why did they insist on trying to coerce them into doing the dirty work? It escaped Amelie's understanding, all things considered; in the face of the pair's outrageous reaction, the brunette tried to keep her composure intact. Fanning the fires of what could be a pretty heated discussion wouldn't be very productive, after all.
What was the best way to approach the situation at hand? The young woman wished she had the answer to that. "We'll blow it up." She finally answered, her tone dead serious. "But only if we can't come with a peaceful resolution to our attempt at negotiation. Something that might be more than probably, considering that guy's reputation. No a guarantee, though. Guess you'll have to hold your breath and see how everything ends. That would be a fine compromise, don't you think?"
A small smirk took over the girl's features. Sure, those words were as honeyed as they could be, but treading carefully seemed like the name of the game over here. "Why do you want to destroy that island, anyway? If your beef is with the Leomon, chances are that you probably won't get rid of him even if you blow the thing up; especially if you haven't been able to deal with him as of now. Why not try a more diplomatic approach? If you explain to us what's your problem with him, maybe we can try and resolve that feud as well. That'd be far better, don't you think?"
There you go. Maybe there really was a way to satisfy all parties, even if it'd be way more difficult to accomplish than the easier method. But also more satisfying? Probably.
