That day it was about fifteen minutes early, but for Yuuki, it would be best to come here before the assigned time. He stepped out from the train, dressed in KIZNA official coat. It made him looks like a scholar from some magic academy, honestly... a strange outfit to wear in this sort of place, but even then... he's representing a team from Digital World. He's here as leader of KIZNA. Being formal in look and mannerism would give him a lot more credibility. Of course he would trade this sort of cloth for normal clothes had they have to meet above ground, but that's not the case. So here he is... with his partner, Hikaru, who dressed with his kilt and hat... waiting for their conversation partner to come, and probably lead them somewhere more private.
...He's not sure what to feel about this. Dealing with government officials are always nervewrecking, but dealing with your own government officials specifically? Even more so. Much more cops. But even so, he wanted to talk about everything that has been going on so far. He wanted to know what he need to say and how he need to move based on the actions of the government...
It's complicated... but he hope he's up to task. Honestly, recovering a city felt much less complicated than this.

Ordinarily Agent Machine would go to a place dressed in more casual clothes, but, this upcoming meeting was different. And, frankly, when Seifer had notified him of this "leader" of the digital world in regards to his concerns as written in his letter on Tamernet, he felt no need for concealing.
Thus, the DATS Agent was dressed in his uniform - a black jacket and trousers, with red lining on the sides. The DATS badge was prominent on his right chest and left shoulder. Thankfully his official uniform meant that as he moved through the Shibuya station, shortly before 7pm, nobody bothered him as he made his way to the elevator that would take him to the secret floor that only "digidestined" knew of. The Trailmon platform. Agent Machine thought that was the safest place for them to meet. Digimon could walk freely here, and it was quiet enough at this time so that they wouldn't be overheard.
The elevator doors opened on the floor, and as soon as he realized he was on the right floor, he pulled the digivice from his pocket, stated "Seifer, Realize." then in a flash of light, a small Hackmon appeared in front of him. The little hooded dragon digimon then leapt up and rode on his shoulder as he approached the platform.
There was no Trailmon here currently, which was good, he didn't want much activity around for this conversation. Furthermore, there were few others present. Pretty much just the official staff - a few tamers that ran kiosks and little shops catering for tamers waiting for their trains; a perfect situation.
Agent Machine identified the person he was meant to be talking to fairly quickly. That formal coat, and the Dorumon at his side, he must be the one. The young man approached.
"Hey there. Are you Itou Yuuki?" he asked in a friendly voice. If confirmed, he would offer his hand to shake and reply "I'm Agent Machine of DATS, and this is my partner Seifer."

"Indeed, that would be me," Yuuki answered, then bowed in greeting. "It's very nice to meet you, Agent Machine. Once again, I'm Itou Yuuki, leader of KIZNA, a neutral team in Digital World. Here is my partner, Hikaru. I'll be just be brief in the introduction and say that we're not in position to make any sort of deal either, neither we're in position of strong power that is enough to move Digital World in certain way. However, at the same time, I'm here to understand the government's point of view while sharing you ours."
Hikaru then stepped forward and took out a music box like object from his kilt.. "...In this talk today, if you would like to avoid any sort of prying eyes and prefer whatever we said as classified, we have prepared a certain artifact. This one is called Haven Circle. It could make us vanish from eyes of those who aren't involved, and all our conversation to be private. If you prefer more open talk, then we can talk anywhere."
Of course trust is two way bridge, so Hikaru handed the box to the agent just in case if he wanted to examine it in detail.
"Do examine it of course if so you want. We'll follow your lead either way."

Agent Machine was intrigued from the start. Itou Yuuki seemed to be a significant player in the digital world, being the leader of a group called "KIZNA". While he personally wasn't familiar with it, he had heard that abbreviation spoken enough from sources in the digital world to know it meant something.
It seemed that they had arranged this meeting not to make a deal, but simply an exercise in understanding. "That's a relief, I'm not in a position to make a deal either." the young man replied.
Then Hikaru the Dorumon revealed a strange object that resembled a music box. He stated that it was a device that would keep their conversation absolutely private. Machine turned and glanced around the platform. They weren't completely alone, humans and digimon still stood at the kiosks and outlets of Terminus City goods, many paying attention to them since they were the only ones present on the platform, the next Trailmon not due for another hour. Machine looked at the device, showing it to Seifer as well for his input.
"...seems safe." Seifer answered after a few moments.
"If that's the case, please activate it." Machine requested, handing the device back. "It would be best if this conversation stayed between us." For more reasons than one, but he would not reveal that so quickly.

"Very well. Well, then, Hikaru?"
"Let's step in a place less likely to be stepped by people then." Hikaru suggested. After finding the right spot, the Dorumon would lightly roll it from his hand to the ground. It immediately played a song that seem to be soft enough to not be a disturbance. While at first some people seem to notice them, the moment the box hit the ground, some would look around like they've vanished, as Hikaru said before.
"Now no one would bother us. We can talk as we please here... but please wait for a moment."
Hikaru then produced four chairs and a table (out of where? His kilt obviously), then offered some light snacks; savory, sweet, you call it. Either way, it looked like a small tea party.
"Well, first thing first..." Yuuki sat on his chair, and following that Hikaru also did the same, pouring tea for the four of them. "Agent Machine... well I guess that's a bit too convoluted for the tongue, so please forgive me because I'll refer to you as Agent-dono, is that acceptable?"
After given the reply, Yuuki would began his questioning. "First, allow me to ask before we start... How long has you been chosen? How long has it been since your first adventure, and when was the last time you came to Digital World? Of course I don't mean this as interrogation. I'm asking just so it's easier for me and my partner to be on the same page as you are. It would be awkward if we spoke of events that you have no idea of."
"For the reference, me and Yuuki has been partnered for three and half years, which actually dilates to approximately fifteen years Digital World time." Hikaru told the two. "It wouldn't merit anyone if we hide the issue but Yuuki has lost approximately thirteen years of this experience... His memories of this thirteen years period are completely gone. That's why, I'll do most of the talking in regard to what we know during this fifteen years of partnership."

Until Machine and Seifer were able to witness the activation of the device, both were a little on edge. But, it worked exactly as stated. It seemed to shield them from sight and sound, completely cut off from those around them. There was a little bit of muttering from those present as to where they had gone, but it was an instance where it happened so subtly that nobody felt the need to investigate, leaving them to their own devices.
Following that, Seifer raised an eyebrow from within his hood when Hikaru procured a table and chairs. 'Does he have an infini-store under there?' he thought to himself. But, best not question that, he supposed. He and Machine took their seats.
"Agent-dono is acceptable." Machine answered. Then the next question took him aback a bit. He hadn't been asked that question in quite a while. And the circumstances in which he was chosen... they were difficult.
Still, Yuuki gave good reasoning to ask this question, just to know on what page they stood. And here, in private, Machine was prepared to answer that.
"I was chosen 8 years ago." he answered. "I arrived in the digital world and met Seifer, with..." he broke off here, wanting to say more, but, simply couldn't. Not until he trusted Yuuki and Hikaru more.
"I was 16 at the time. We had... difficulties in the digital world, and when I returned to Earth, I couldn't return there"
The additional talk about the time difference made Machine and Seifer confused for a brief moment, before they realized time flowed differently in the other world. Once they figured that out, that piqued their curiosity.
"You... lost 13 years of memory?" Seifer repeated, astonished. That only served to reinforce the fear of DATS that if free access existed between Earth and the Digital world, trauma such as this was possible. But they both knew there was more to it than that.
"Of course, if that's the case, I understand." Machine answered. He thought on what to say in response. He had answered the first question, now it was his turn to ask one in response. "My first question to you is this. How did you arrive in the digital world and how did you become bonded as partners?"
Seifer merely sipped his tea as this was spoken. "Very nice stuff." the Hackmon complimented Hikaru.

"Why thank you for the praise, my daughter made that, you see. My pride and joy she is, just like the rest of her 10 siblings!" Hikaru answered. Yuuki just looked at him with a wry smile. Hikaru seem to insistent on breaking the ice, whether it's a serious talk or a casual talk.
How indeed huh? "I'll answer that," Hikaru suggested to Yuuki. "I was... for lack of better word, spawned by his computer screen you see. I just appeared one day in his room as a wee egg, he thought some ostrich just laid an egg on his table and ran away for whatever reason. As silly as that is, for a... Can I say muggle? Would J. K. Rowling sue me?"
the human merely snorted at that and sipped his own tea.
"Anyway, uhm, for the unaware, that's only the possible scenario, right? So his plan was he gone to the vet and look up what am I. Luckily we found nice guy who told us that hey, you're partnered with a Digimon, and there you go, I was born to this world! A gift to the world indeed, but my other daughter would say that she's the actual gift to the world---"
"Hikaru, as much as I love your jokes, I don't think the agents would appreciate it as much as I do."
"Ah right, pardon. Anyway, that's the thing... I think this scenario is pretty much template, don't you think? No, we have no idea for what reason are we chosen and partnered together like this, we also have no idea who pulled the strings if that what your question meant.
As of how we arrived in Digital World... the same as everyone really... but we quickly found out that it's pretty much a lawless land beyond the cities. A special case might it be, but we did fought with a... seasoned human and Digimon. They killed our friend's partner Digimon. It happens that before the fight, he was merely an intimidating person, no battles and all that...
...But you see, this is where the story gets a bit heated. Someone irked the guy. It happened to be apparently part of old DATS agent... Nova Ozuka. He made the guy flared up and it ended up pulling us to that mortal battle. I myself nearly deleted in the process. I'm in belief that new DATS are more competent than that, but as you can see, when it came to DATS being said, I can't help but to remember that day.
That was ridiculously incompetent. He ran away, leaving... what, four newbies, first time coming to Digital World, fending against a Porcupamon that immediately evolved to Waru Monzaemon..."
"So that's why you're at first against this talk," Yuuki commented.
"Correct. I was against it at first, but... I guess eventually I warmed up to it. Old DATS and New DATS, what's so different between them? I'd like to see it with my own eyes. Anyway, Agent-dono, I guess it's my turn to ask, but...
Tell me frankly... After you heard all pf this, how danger does not come from just Digimons but also chosen human that has tossed away their moral code, do you think DATS is right? Of course a non-personal answer is fine too. Digital World is dangerous world, this is what the DATS think, right? However, what reinforced your own belief of so? I feel like there is an unspoken tragedy that caused you to get involved with DATS."
"What he mean is... if you're partnered to your partner for eight years... That was more than enough for you to function as an unit. He's still with you, he's still strongly bonded with you... the moment the government, and in extension DATS, said 'No Digimon ever again'... would you not think of what happened if you two were to be separated?" Yuuki added.

Both Machine and Seifer were surprised to hear the news about Hikaru having 11 children. Yet, that wasn't the most unusual thing that Machine had heard about digimon so far, so he just reacted simply. "Well, congrats on having such a successful family." he said, giving a small smile.
Then Hikaru began the story of how they met. Machine sat and listened, but his grey eyes glistened at one or two points where he realized some familiarity with his own story. Seifer, meanwhile, decided that he rather liked Hikaru's humour when he mentioned "muggles".
"I think J.K Rowling is a little too busy these days tweeting about what else was nine-and-three-quarters to notice such a thing." the Hackmon replied, his voice blank but mirth showing in his red eyes.
The story continued with some more jokes. While Seifer appreciated them, Machine was more keen to get to the point, he urged them on with a nod.
They listened on in silence for the rest of Hikaru and Yuuki's story. Machine's face remained blank, but there were moments when his eyes widened, the first when one of their friend's partners were killed, the second when they encountered someone from the old DATS.
It took a little while for Machine to respond initially, but his first question was on the thing that bothered him the most. "So... the very first time you entered the digital world, you were attacked by another human?" he asked, incredulously. "Is the digital world still that lawless?"
Eventually he calmed down on the inside and thought of more sensible questions to ask. This would likely turn out to be a very significant meeting indeed. It was clear that Yuuki and Hikaru knew a lot about the digital world, and would be very valuable sources of information. Not that Machine or Seifer intended to betray them in any way now that they knew this, but both of them were eager to hear more about what their stories were.
"The truth is..." Machine began, a little hesitantly at first, but spoke with more confidence when he realized they were safe from being overheard here. "We have hardly any record whatsoever about what happened with the old DATS. As far as we know, their command structure vanished, the agents fell into dissaray, and the Japanese government ceased to support them roughly 3-4 years ago, Earth time. Since then, the private organization AEGIS was formed to cover their absence, but, as I'm sure you've heard, they were not adequate to the task as proved in the battle of Scramble Crossing on New Year's day, hence why we have been reactivated."
Then Yuuki asked a question of his own. Machine rubbed his chin as he pondered an adequate reply. He had a lot to say, but, still wasn't sure how far he could trust Yuuki and Hikaru in revealing the full truth. Yes, they were shielded from being overheard, but, they had only met minutes ago, how could Machine trust them with the full story?
Instead, he decided to only give them hints. "The official stance of DATS is that digimon should not exist at all on Earth, simply because they fear that digimon can be used as weapons." he began. "What if a radical political terrorist became partner to a digimon? Should they simply stand by while they grow enough strength to evolve their partners to Perfect and destroy the government? That's the scenario that was hammered into our minds at first, but... I understand what it's like to be bonded to a digimon."
Here, Machine reached up and gently petted Seifer between the ears, just where he knew he liked it. Seifer closed his eyes lazily, giving a smile under his hood.
"I don't want to be separated from him." Machine then stated. "Seifer means everything to me, he's..." he hesitated, then decided that reaching out here might be his best chance for a well established tamer-digimon duo to understand his position. "He's the only hope I've got in saving our sisters..."
Here, Machine's face turned incredibly serious, full of emotion. There was sadness, determination, and a hint of fierceness - a silent promise that if Yuuki and Hikaru betrayed his trust here, he'd make them pay for it.

"I'd reckon Merlin's Beard is that long for how much they mentioned it in the books," Hikaru joked once more. But even then, he knows when to back down from his jokes. The agent indeed asked somewhat rhetorically, but Hikaru has answer for this.
"...You see, inside the cities, law protected you, some form of orders are protecting humans, but outside that? Who's in favor to exert their strength? The cities? Do they really need to expand? The Royal Knights? Does they even exist? I'd be faster finding Seven Great Demon Lords than finding the Royal Knights. The chosens? Radical Digimons probably going to hear about it and do invasion toward real world. That's why to protect the interest and safety of human, Digimons must act... The same way as the moment, don't you think? This is why KIZNA is made, to counteract negativity done by humans, to make them understand that not all sudden influx of humans are bad, and we'll extend as many helping hand as we could offer.
Digital World is not human's theme park, that much is obvious, but amidst it all, there are chosens, like you and Yuuki, who somehow pulled to Digital World and partnered to us Digimons. Why? No one knows, but what we want is that you... still can have an adventure without worrying prejudice on top of already existing problems outside of the city walls. Just because it's not your world doesn't mean you can't explore it somehow and talk to your neighbor: us, the Digimons. I feel... Digimon should at least have the same rights for what goodwill they has extended to humans.
I'm not saying 'reveal all Digimons to the public' as that can go REALLY WRONG quickly, considering that I heard so far Japan is the only part of the world with Digital Gate access... At least, I'd like government to at least understand that there are Digimons who need your help, to adjust in real world and become part of real world working classes. They're not terrorists, they're not criminals, they're just Digimons who fed up with Digital World's 'might makes right' rule and want to settle down in our world."
"We fear, that unless some attempt of doing equal goodwill is extended, what happened in Scramble Crossing would once again repeat... This is why we're here to talk," Yuuki surmised.
So looks like neither the current DATS have any idea what happened to the Old DATS. That's fine with him. However, part of the AEGIS irked him. He might be not a part of AEGIS anymore, but he still consider Sophie James a friend.
"...Pretty much," Hikaru answered. "But as you know, politics are necessary but ugly. As far as I know, Sophie James are only a quarter Japanese, and in government eyes who always go 'Japanese first', her existence is like a sore point. Forget that some of DATS members are Japanese... as long as the leader is not at least half Japanese with Japanese citizenship, I think AEGIS will never be backed by the government. Thus isn't that the actual stance behind the screen?" Hikaru asked. "DATS will be reactivated even without AEGIS' lack of manpower.
Your stance on AEGIS' existence might change if only they performed well... But considering the collateral damage, I say it definitely isn't 'well'. If battle of scramble crossing goes any other way, let's say it was launched when you are ready, won't you say that it's a perfect opportunity for the government to shut down AEGIS, the sore spot that stayed on their shoulder by showing how more superior is DATS?"
"Hikaru, that's tone is a bit antagonistic."
"Oh I'm not criticizing Agent-dono. He's doing his job, he's brilliant. I'm criticizing the government behind him who used AEGIS' failure to push their own agenda. But even then that is politics."
With that, he sips his tea, seem signing that he's done talking for the moment. Yuuki sighed, meanwhile, hoping the Agent doesn't take it personally.
"I'm sorry for my partner's harsh words, but he doesn't aim that at you at all, so please understand that we really don't want to antagonize anyone... I think the government change is still a sore spot for him because it also affect how we KIZNA operates...We're bridge that kept the status quo on Digital World side... and of course there are Digimons who think of doing the same to humans... to extradite us back to real world and never again return to Digital World."
And then... the tone of the talk changed. This is where Yuuki took a sharp breath, as if something stuck on his throat.
"...I see, now everything fall into its needed pieces. Agent-dono, I will not pry further about this subject, but please understand that if you need any help, we, KIZNA will offer our help. This is not currying favor, nor we wish to have you owe us one. It's simply our duty--nay, our desire to extend helping hand."
"Missing sister is definitely not a light thing... If you could at least tell us where is she last seen... we might be able to work on something, or even send recon units and whatnot," Hikaru offered.

Machine and Seifer would listen to Hikaru's explanation of law and safety in the digital world. Yes, the cities were safe enough. To a degree that rather surprised them if they were honest. But a state of lawlessness still existed outside of them.
"And what of the children that get targeted and attacked by these lawless digimon?" Machine asked, a little pointedly. "From what I heard, some digimon go as far as murdering humans. And as far as I know of the "choosing" process, young people are usually those chosen, those that aren't properly prepared to deal with such difficulties. How would anyone who cares about others react in any other way than to find a way to prevent that from happening?"
Machine wasn't angry here, he simply wanted to hear an answer from Yuuki or Hikaru that would satisfy him.
Following that, Yuuki mentioned Scramble Crossing. "Yes, that incident. An unprovoked incursion that resulted in a possibly fatal battle in the heart of Shibuya." That was what tolerating digimon had brought them, but Machine didn't voice his thoughts on that.
Machine's expression softened, however, when Hikaru correctly pointed out the politics involved behind DATS' opinion on AEGIS. Yes, Sophie James was an American citizen living in residence in Japan. He had overheard others in DATS scorning the organization for this fact. But still, there were other reasons to not rely on them.
"Despite their nationality, the Jameses are barely adults. How can we trust the security of Japan to children that barely managed to contain things in the Scramble Crossing emergency?" Machine asked.
"No, instead we have to trust it to that powerhungry grub of a director." Seifer stated blankly. A glare from Agent Machine rendered him silent, but, he didn't rebuke him. Instead, he turned back to Yuuki and Hikaru.
"The relations between DATS and AEGIS are regrettable, I admit, and I'm sorry. But there's little I can do about it. As long as they stay out of our way, we won't intervene with them. That's all I can promise in my capacity."
Then Agent Machine made the big drop, and watched the others for their reaction. They were sympathetic, and even offered assistance. Machine thought back to that time, trying to remember the specifics.
"It was... somewhere underground in Terminus City." he explained. "We found some curious digital code that led us to this... incredible open space underneath the city. Everything seemed... incomplete, or garbled, but there were still basic structures where we could stand, frameworks that looked like they were junk from other places of the digital world. We... encountered something bad there. We tried to fight, but we weren't strong enough. My sister... opened a portal and forced me and Seifer through it. We landed in the Shibuya Terminal. That's the last we saw of her and her partner."
Machine hadn't told this to a civilian before. But, in the circumstances, he felt like... no... he wanted to trust them. He did his best to hide his emotions. He held back tears, but his voice quavered in places.

"Then are you saying that a complete mass preventing is better than anything else?" Hikaru asked back evenly. However, before he could say more, Yuuki raised his hand to stop him as he wished to say his point himself.
"I understand your point, Agent. The lack of knowledge can be fatal. 'Near to none' incident does not means that it doesn't exist, but before I answer, let me ask this: Do you know what's the process of being chosen? Do you know what's the procedure that made you being chosen?
Truth to be told, I have no idea. To everyone I asked, no one completely understand and most of the time it was so vague. Some human said 'by encountering Digimon in some way or another, you're automatically become chosen next time'... If you can't find the source of why someone is being chosen, how can you entirely stop the process of someone gaining Digimon partner?
Another problem is... if you, DATS, let's say, block the pathway between real world and Digital World... are you sure the [Will of Digital World] who chose me and you will stay silent? What's the chance that blocking the last two public portal in Japan wouldn't cause outbreak so huge that it engulf the world instead?"
Will of Digital World -- in other word, it's God, or perhaps something else? Yggdrasil or Homeostasis, or even just collective will of Digital World that called human, he have no idea... but that collective will, Yuuki believed would rebel on DATS decision. Yuuki offered his empty teacup to Hikaru, who quickly refilled it. He sipped it before truly answering.
"There's a compelling force to all that are chosen to return to Digital World, be it willingly or not. It's perhaps our curse. But even then, for newbies to stay unaware is a mistake that we'd like to rectify as KIZNA. One of our Cadre is planning to spread training awareness to human, to cull seed of 'main character syndromes'. We're not characters with plot armor, I'm sorry. We're just normal humans; ones that happened to partner with Digimon. That's our preventive measure. You might argue this is worse than DATS way of closing of all the gates... but we believe this is something with minimum backlash, thus status quo can be upheld."
'An unprovoked incursion'? Hikaru shook his head.
"Nay, it wasn't completely unprovoked. The bridge goes two way, Agent. Luminas was indeed invaded in the past... and probably El Doradimon at it. There won't be smoke without fire... and I feel it's a complete mirror of what DATS is trying to do if all of you are trying to steamroll your desire to break off the bond between Real World and Digital World. Either you're so opposed by fellow chosen... or if you try from this side, the Digimon would rebel. This matter is delicate, and I believe you understand that."
On that talk about age, Hikaru countered. "Agent, I'll ask you back: How can we trust matter between real world and digital world handled delicately when the government probably chose the agents that suited their agenda? AEGIS failed, that much I know, that's an undeniable fact... but can you say that their heart is not in the best interest of the real world? All that you need for them is to teach them to behave as a special agent. That sort of training unfortunately is not possible without cooperation of the government. Sadly, that means they need to swore allegiance to the government... and by then it's no different than DATS."
"DATS have weakness of it being affected by the government, surely you know this... as long as the government does not show itself as ally us, the experienced chosen of Digital World, they will not capture our heart. So far, I think they treated us as meddling kids?" Yuuki asked rhetorically, smiling as he sipped his tea. "You raises fine points, Agent... but I believe it's important for something as big as Digital Security to be independent from Japanese politics. However at the same time I know that it's almost impossible considering that it's also involving the well being of Japanese citizen and the country itself."
Hikaru and Yuuki nodded at the compromise. "Well that's more than enough I think. Though I do feel that indeed AEGIS need more training, hum..." Hikaru muttered. "Maybe I'll consider a simulation...? hm hm..."
While the Dorumon is busy thinking how to proceed to the future, Yuuki took out a small notebook and note every single thing that the Agent told him from that point about his sister. Eight years... Fifty six years, holy moly, that's rather spartan isn't it? Yuuki doubted that someone could stay there that long, but... He need closure. Everyone does. He showed the agent what he's writing, which is just recording of what he said, just to make sure he understood that he's not planning to use this for any funny business.
"I'll contact our intelligence division immediately after this. We promise to try to find as much as possible about your sister, and we'll keep in contact about that... Your partner is a Hackmon, surely he could find a security gap where our messages cannot be read by your higher up, correct? However, it might takes a long time, and we will not get back immediately at you. Even then, we promise that we, KIZNA, will do our best to provide closure to this matter."

Yuuki thankfully halted that emotional response. Agent Machine knew that this conversation was like treading on hot coals, but the value of the information that could be learned here prevented him from rising up in response. Seifer merely drank some tea.
Machine turned to Yuuki. "I don't know anything about the process, other than myself and my sister were chosen." he answered. That was all he could say about it, really.
Then Yuuki said the rest of his piece, and by now was speaking such logic that made Agent Machine feel defeated. Yes, there was no logical way to prevent this thing from happening without also preventing some even bigger problem. Yet still, he had to act the agent from DATS and had to continue defending it. Yet he did so without much zeal.
"The plan is to simply make all inconveniences disappear." Machine answered with a shrug. "That's all we've got. The Japanese government's managed to round up us three agents to act in its interests in regards to digimon, and we're expected to keep a lid on it. Even if some of us frankly don't want to be a part of it, but the way they put it, we don't have any choice. So here we are."
Seifer looked surprised at his partner for making that outburst, but understood, knowing that no others would hear of this conversation. Machine accepted Yuuki's next points.
Then talk turned to the Scramble Crossing incident. Hikaru countered immediately with compelling evidence. Agent Machine and Seifer felt they could say little in response. That a faction of the digital world would be compelled to do that to Earth in the first place was believable, so they added that to the tally of things they felt they could pursue no further.
Then Hikaru continued his argument in favour of AEGIS resuming the frontlines. To this, Machine couldn't agree with. "Frankly, this is a matter of pride for the Japanese Government." he replied, quickly. "AEGIS is run by Americans, bankrolled privately. DATS was revived with the full backing of the Japanese government. Obviously this was their only option in response to the Scramble Crossing incident."
Machine said the words, but without the emotion to back them up. Frankly he was divided on this particular method of operation.
Eventually, he settled down, realizing he and Seifer were untraceable here, and so they listened further without further interjections. Hikaru suggested training AEGIS for better responses. Machine thought that was nice, but still, it wouldn't help his own situation.
Then Yuuki showed what he was writing. Machine's eyes widened as soon as he saw the writing. It seemed like a plan to locate his and Seifer's sisters. Seifer read the notice too, and could say nothing in response.
Yuuki offered it as a deal. And Agent Machine could not refuse it. "...alright. If you do this for us, we'll be in your debt." he promised, both him and Seifer bowing with respect. "But please... the moment you find our sisters, please, let us know."
With that establishment made, and with the information gathered in this meeting, Agent Machine thought that was about all they could talk about here for the time being. "Well then. That's about all..." Machine began, but Seifer spoke up after finishing his meal.
"There's going to be an event in Golden Week." he notified Yuuki and Hikaru. "Digimon will arrive on Earth and make themselves public. This operation will be made to take the initiative away from DATS and take the control they have about the notice of digimon away from them. We agreed to this because we agree with you... we can't hide digimon forever. We want to make our introduction good and happy."
With that said, that was about all that they had to say. Machine and Seifer then stood up after they had finished their drinks, indicating they were about to leave. But they would remain to answer lingering questions if they had any.

So all the source of the problem is indeed the government. He guess he can't say anything else to that. Not having a sympathizer in the Government proved to be rather fatal. It's like appointing wizard who have no interest toward muggles to be ministry of muggle relations. It's super complicated, and honestly, it made Yuuki wonder how to reinstate the previous prime minister rather than the new one... or if there is a way for the prime minister to open their eyes.
"Such expectation is unrealistic, but I guess that's what happened when no one in the government is pro-chosen. Not helping that I can't say that this isn't a problem that has boiled for a while. All in all this felt like a tug-o-war. Being a chosen at the moment only felt like a chess piece. No matter how big of a player you are, in the end if you're not the player themselves, you'll be quite in a pinch," Yuuki muttered.
"Eh well whatever. Rather than the mastermind, don't you feel it's better to just be the force that can control the flow with your action?" Hikaru countered to his partner's musing.
There is nothing else to discuss. "I promise you that. We'll definitely try to locate your sister as fast as possible."
Just when he was about to get up, Seifer's word came crashing like a wrecking iron ball. Wait what!? What? What... what happened!? He thought that's just some rumor of what to come, but to think that they're serious!? Fuck... fuuuuck his life. It's at this time that sadly the gig is up. Because Seifer and Agent Machine stood, that means the effect of the field has broken. Hikaru quickly collected all items back to the infini-store, but not before looking worriedly at Yuuki who just stayed silent.
"...We'll return to the base. Preparation must be made," was all the brown haired teen replied to his partner. He opened a portal and entered through it. Fuck, if he had more time, he could raise an appropriate response. If he recalled it correctly, none of his core friends will be nearby on that time. Ryouta would be going off country to try his luck in cooking schools... Karin is visiting her cousins in America, Koutarou is part timing in the zoo, Koharu would be too busy with her part time job and Tetsu would be in Hokkaido.
...Shit.
