Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Jun 3, 2019 12:43:34 GMT
OOC: This thread takes place before the MPC Dragon Dance and regular thread Training Times, where Kenny and Skadi meet up with Valt and become their apprentice. This thread was made to patch up a missing part of Kenny and Skadi's history.
Ever since Kenny became a Digimon tamer to Skadi, a young, energetic, mischievous Valaismon with a big heart, and surprisingly an equally large stomach, to boot, a trip to the Digital World was very much inevitable at this point. For you see, that night Kenny was screwing around with his Digivice in the bathroom by himself, he accidentally opened a portal with his own device, much to his own surprise. Before he could do anything, it shut in front of his eyes and kept mum about it to his dad, having the newcomer Ramona the Wormmon explain what the magic portal was: a Digital Gate, and one of 2 ways a tamer could reach the Digital World (the other were the Trailmon).
And now, today was the day he was actually going to do it: his first steps into the Digital World himself. If anything, he had a good amount of defence to his name, if Weatherdramon was anything to go by, so far. Sitting in his room, with his dad at work, he tightly gripped his Digivice in his hand, his bag packed with lunch (thank God for the Infini-Cube), Skadi sitting next to him along with Ramona, he turned to his own partner and the other acquaintance who just so happened to be a Digimon, "Skadi, Ramona, you ready to go?"
"Ready as I'll ever be, pal." Skadi grinned. Finally, she was going to go back to the Digital World, on a little trip with her tamer. Ramona, however, was a little sceptical on the duos capabilities on that point, but she was a little willing to go along with this.
"Eh, It'll be nice to return to my old stomping ground again." Ramona shrugged simply. On hearning that, Kenny just leaned down his hand on the bed and allowed Ramona to climb his arm, which she did, latching onto his strong(er) left shoulder, while Skadi jumped from the bed excitedly, landing on the floor on her own two hooves.
Kenny then proceeded to goof around with the Digivice again, trying to search out the right command, "Alright then, just need to figure out how to activate the portal thingy and-" whompf. A giant portal emerged out of nowhere in front of the trio. Taking their cue, the three walked through the portal, leading into the tamer's first steps into the Digital World.
---
It took a bit of guidance from Skadi and Ramona for Kenny to get through the Trailmon terminal to get to Terminus City, but he managed to navigate through there. There were some other tamers and some Digimon going to and fro into and off the trains, but no-one seemed to raise an eyebrow at the newcomer. His head was spinning for a bit though, him trying to comprehend all this.
When Kenny stepped outside into Terminus City for the first time, a sense of awe started to awash over him, as he bear witness to the large, sprawling metropolis, ranging from giant towers to smaller shops and homes, all teeming with Digimon big and small, whenever reptilian, amphibian, or avian, or whatever else was there. A giant stone wall loomed over the city, casting a shadow over whatever it could.
"Wow." Kenny whispered to himself. And 'wow' was right. For being a whole bunch of monsters, they seemed to be fairly civilized, just living and working together in piece. A loud screech echoed from the sky, as Kenny looked up to the source, a giant arm- and leg-less skull masked wind drake flying overhead, minding it's own business. A giant anthropomorphic white Garurumon wearing tattered jeans passed by, but paying no heed to the puny human. Quickly, Kenny pinched himself to try and convince himself that this wasn't one long glorified dream.
It wasn't. This was real. "So, this must be the Digital World, right?" He asked Skadi, who was happily wagging her tail.
She only giggled a bit, "Not even a quarter of it. This is Terminus City, the capital of the Digital World. And, unsurprisingly, the first true sight of the Digital World for a tamer. It has lots of stuff to see and a lot of things to do. And you know, Kenny..." she started to shuffle close to Kenny's legs, cuddling them, "I'm so excited to be able to do these things with you for the first time."
While Ramona giggled a little bit, it was at this point Kenny was used to Skadi's embarrassing displays of affection. With a little blush and a smile, he said, "Me too, Skadi. Thank you."
Quickly, Skadi regained her composure and fixed herself, "So, what do you wanna do first?" She was practically up for anything at this point, but Kenny had just gotten here. He felt like he needed to adjust himself first.
He sighed a bit, "I don't know. We could have a bit of a look around, you know. At least, help me get well adjusted to this place, and if anything goes wrong, well, Skadi, I think you know what to do from here." He held up his Digivice and shook it. "Ramona, mind showing me the way?"
"Well, I did say I'd help you guys the best way I could." Ramona said. She took the lead, indicating Kenny and Skadi to follow, which they did, as they started to walk through the giant city that was Terminus.

Terminus City sure was an intimidating place for any digimon of the Rookie level. Had this been Bezil the Gumdramon's first time here, he would have more likely than not froze up from the intimidation here. Thankfully he had visited here and spent time with his parents Owen and Hikaru for a time, so by now he knew the basics of how to exist in this massive metropolis.
As Bezil wandered around the bustling downtown of the incredible city, he took in his father's advice and paid attention to what was going on around him. Yeah, there were mostly digimon going around their daily lives, but, of course, with this being the main place in which humans entered the world, there were humans and their partners as well. Even solitary humans, although they were usually left alone, since a solitary human could wield things known as spirits, which could easily defeat a digimon of a similar level.
The furry Gumdramon still wanted to make the best of his trip here though, so for the moment he minded his own business, entering a large book shop. After about half an hour of browsing, he found such a fascinating story - a book about the Shining Sea, that he purchased it at once and began to read as he left the store and browsed through it at once, eager to find information that would be helpful for his parents and family back in Ys.
He was so transfixed by the information within that he almost bumped into a trio that were also walking around the city. "Whoa... sorry there" he apologized, speaking in his somewhat Australian accent, halting before he did any damage.
Bezil retreated a couple of steps to take in the sight of them. One was a human, another was a Wormmon, and the third was a sheep-like digimon he had never seen before. While it was a little presumptuous of him, Bezil used his training to gather what information he could, and it seemed to him that these individuals were new to this city.
"Heya, sorry if I'm wrong, but is this your first trip to the digital world?" he inquired, tilting his head. "If so, I could help you if you like."
He pondered introducing himself, but, if he was wrong about this, it would be probably embarrassing. Best establish how they stood if that was the case.

Miko thought cities were daunting, to put things as lightly as could be. Having been raised outside of such a locale, the bronze Renamon was more used to quieter places, such as villages, or shrines. That didn't mean she was -afraid- of cities altogether, just that she might have viewed them as more large and tumultuous than they actually were.
What wasn't helping was how she felt like she stuck out akin to a sore thumb. The fox was dressed like any other Renamon (with the exception of her gloves being literal flowing sleeves), and held her gohei close as though it meant the difference between life and death.
Wading through the crowd of Digimon was a bit of a chore, but she had to get to the Trailmon terminal somehow, right? In her endeavor to get past them, she...actually succeeded, though not before she nearly tripped over a particularly furry Gumdramon, catching herself just in time to avert disaster. No, really, that was way fluffier than most Gumdramon had any right to be.
In any case, this was woefully embarrassing. Undignified. "My apologies." The Renamon quickly stammered before stepping a step away from the Gumdramon and the party of three (which included a human, Miko hadn't met one of those before,) and inquiring. "...I hate to impose, but do any of you know where the Trailmon Terminal is...?"

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Jun 4, 2019 17:22:04 GMT
Hawkeye had to admit... he was pretty sad to see Kaya hop onto the Trailmon and head back to the human world. Granted, that was the entire point of their journey to Terminus City in the first place. Kaya had suddenly appeared in Hawkeye's village for seemingly no reason, and it had become the Hawkmon's job to escort her to Terminus and get her on the first Trailmon back home. And with the help of a friendly Spadamon, they had succeeded.
Still, in the short time that Hawkeye knew Kaya, he was starting to grow very fond of her. The way she was always optimistic, always energized, and always wanting all Digimon to be in the best well-being possible, even though they were not human. Even that one human who tried to kill her she was empathetic towards, wanting to help him turn away from a life of crime and evil.
Hell, Hawkeye was even considering joining Kaya on the Trailmon to the human world briefly. Alas, in the end he felt that his duty was still to protect his village from harm, so he decided to stay. Now alone in Terminus, all there was to do now was to start the journey back home.
Before I leave, I should go shopping for supplies. Out of food and I only have a couple arrows left. No harm can come from a bit of supply shopping, I suppose.
Hawkeye took note of all the different types of Digimon he saw when he walked through the large city. How a city like this could function without all the Digimon trying to kill each other like they usually would was astonishing to the Hawkmon. This was very apparent when he walked up to a big group of Digimon and a single human that had gathered on the sidewalk. Aside from the human, the Digimon that were present was a Wormmon, a furred Gumdramon, a bronze Renamon, and a Digimon he had not seen before.
And it looked like they all collided with each other at the same time. Typical.
"Don't mind me, just passing through," Hawkeye simply said as he just walked right through the group, not tripping over or running into anyone. Just then a thought passed through his mind. He stopped and awkwardly turned around. "...do any of you happen to know where the market is?"

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Jun 6, 2019 7:45:39 GMT
Kenny's track record with wild Digimon, not counting Skadi, as she was only a merely fluffy Mallimon at the time, was pretty shaky at best. And while Skadi had made quick work of BlackGarurumon the second she got the Digimental of Friendship, Arkadimon... was a bitch and a jerk and they were pretty sure the world was better off without it. But they were merely wild, savage beasts. This was a whole civilisation of Digimon from blob to beast roaming around, and Kenny felt his inner kid's monster-loving self squealing in joy inside, although his adult self and his fears helped to temper the kid.
"Sweet Jesus," Kenny muttered, "Didn't think you Digimon could do anything like this."
It was hard to believe that these monsters were capable of building entire cities for themselves, let alone civilisation. And yet, here they were. Kenny's eyes were practically glued to this unfamiliar place as Ramona scurried along, leading the duo - that was until he felt his chest brush against something furry for a brief second. Quickly, he yelped in shock, before falling over on his butt as the creature apologised. It didn't hurt, but Skadi rushed over, asking "Are you OK?" Ramona could only chuckle at Kenny's accident.
"He's fine." Ramona said, unfazed, "Not the first time I've seen this happen to humans on their first visit."
As the fuzzball stepped back a bit to take in the sight of the stranger, Kenny and co. also looked at the fuzzball a little more clearly. There stood a small, fun-sized purplish-blue dragon carrying a book, with a white furry muzzle and belly to match, with tiny yellow wings and a red vest, and, weirdly enough, a hammer for a tail. And fuzz. Lots of fuzz. And actually looked quite friendly, as he asked if he could help him.
"Oh, yeah, that would be nice, thank you." He told the hammertail dragon as he pulled himself up and dusted himself off. "Yeah, it is actually my first time here. Have to admit, this place looks pretty damn impressive." He whistled. Inside, he breathed a sigh of relief. At least wasn't trying to kill him. But he still had questions, so he turned to Skadi, leaned down, and whispered, "Skadi, what is that thing?"
"It's a Gumdramon. A very fuzzy Gumdramon, if I've ever seen one." Skadi noted her surprise at the hammertail, "Normally, they're very rubbery Rookie-level Digimon which use their tails as weapons. But I've never seen one like this before. But, he seems nice. I think you made the right choice in getting him to help you."
Kenny just smiled at Skadi and replied, "Thank you," whom the sheep Digimon gave a thumbs up in response, before standing up again to face the Gumdramon again. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Kenny, and this is my partner, Skadi the Valaismon. And that's Ramona the Wormmon." Skadi happily waved at the Gumdramon.
"Nice to meetcha! I'm Skadi." She was cool with any non-hostile Digimon that crossed her path, and after all the wild Digimon attacks before, this was a huge relief for the both of them.
"Hey, bookworm." Ramona added.
Before they could continue, Kenny spotted a bronze human-sized fox carrying a gohei walk over and nearly trip over the Gumdramon, before stepping back and apologising, in a female voice. "It's OK!" Skadi piped up at the fox, "This place can get pretty crowded anyways."
"Geeze, I must be getting pretty popular already." Kenny quipped to himself with a chuckle. Was it a coincidence that all these Digimon were gathering near him, like moths to flame? Probably. Once again, Skadi had to tell Kenny about this other new Digimon.
"That one's a Renamon, but I've never seen a bronze one before. They're normally calm-headed Digimon, even in the heat of combat." She explained again, "And despite their tall size, are actually only Rookie as well!" Kenny felt a little confused upon hearing that. He had been accustomed to the fact that small = Rookie, large = Champion. And the Renamon's arrival had inadvertently flipped that upside down. But another pang of relief came across him, his mind registering that Renamon was also friendly. They were 2 for 2 at this point.
The Renamon then asked where to go for the Trailmon Terminal. This time, Ramona spoke up, pushing her way between Kenny and Skadi to get to her. "I'll be taking the Renamon. Are you sure you guys will be fine on your own?" She asked them.
"Yeah, we're fine." Kenny replied, "And besides, if something does go wrong, at least I'll have Skadi to take care of the danger for me." He winked at his partner, who grinned and gave him a thumbs up in response. It was clear these 2 were very close together to the average bystander, both putting their faith in one another.
"Well then," Ramona continued scuttling over to the Renamon, "I can take you there, follow me." And with that, she turned around, and gestured the Renamon to follow her, her feet scuttling so the Renamon could catch up with her. Kenny and Skadi could only watch as the Wormmon walk off back to where they came. As soon as the Wormmon vanished, they turned around once again, only to see another Digimon supposedly walking up to the group again, only to be just passing by, or so he said. Their eyes were locked on him as he walked.
This one was also pretty small, but he resembled a child-sized red bald eagle with claws for wings, and large clawed feet for talons. The top of it's head was all white, with the exception of the red stripes on it's face, a yellow beak, and a black belt-like headband with a feather at the back, and a few tailfeathers on his rear end. And like the other 3 before him, he didn't seem hostile in the slightest. 3 for 3. "Wait," Kenny asked once again to his partner, "Who's that guy?"
"That one's a Hawkmon." Skadi pointed out, which only confused Kenny even more. The Hawkmon looked more eagle than hawk, as far as he was concerned, "They're normally polite Digimon that can actually use that feather on their head like a boomerang to attack the opponent."
"And here I was, thinking that was just for show," Kenny quipped once more. That feather did not exactly scream 'I hurt' in his eyes, "That actually sounds pretty cool." And just as he said that, the Hawkmon stopped in place and turned around to the group, asking about the location of the market. Kenny looked a little confused on that statement. "Wait, this place has a market?" His confusion slowly turned into interest on hearing that. He loved going to markets since he was a kid, looking at all the weird stuff they would sell there, including bootlegs and cheap stuff. So what would a Digital World market be like, he had to know. With a slight chuckle, he asked his partner, "Skadi, you think we should check out the market today? Think that'll be fun."
Skadi nodded enthusiastically at her partner, then turned to the furry hammertail Gumdramon, "Hey, can you show us to the marketplace, please?" She asked him. He seemed to be a regular around here, and therefore, seemed like a big help to them.

Bezil gasped a little as his retreat was impeded by a Renamon that was walking behind him. The end result was him tripping and falling down. Man... lesson learned there, do not lose attention in navigating around Terminus City.
Thankfully he wasn't badly hurt by this. In his years of training in Rosewood, he'd fall over at least once a day, and knew how to fall properly - swish his tail out from his side so he wouldn't land on it, then land flat on his back, striking the ground with his arms to distribute the force. As a result, he felt little pain, and was able to flip back up without any worries.
"That's alright, no harm done. Sorry I bumped into you though." Bezil apologized, realizing this pileup was most likely the result of him reading when he should have been paying attention.
Bezil then turned to the human and the two digimon accompanying him. It turns out his intuition was right. "Ah, turns out I was right. Dad told me what to look for with new folks. Slow walkers, fish-out-of-water expressions..." he chuckled a little awkwardly as he closed his book and put it into his bag. "My fault that I literally bumped into you though. I guess I need to get used to cities more."
Since he knew they were new arrivals, Bezil didn't mind much as they conferred among themselves what digimon he was. He didn't even mind being called a 'thing', since this was a new arrival and knew it wasn't meant as a derogative term. They then introduced themselves, which Bezil was happy to reciprocate.
"My name's Bezil, and yeah, I'm a Gumdramon. Furrier than usual, but, that's what I get when my parents are a Gaomon and Dorumon, heheh" he said with a chuckle. He wasn't sure what the term 'bookworm' meant, but, supposed it was accurate, with the book incident.
Bezil then looked up at the Renamon, noting she asked where the terminal was. He was about to give directions, when the Wormmon offered to show her the directions herself. Well, that was alright then.
It turned out the next digimon to encounter them was a Hawkmon, who asked where the market district was. Bezil had just come from there, so he'd be eager to show them.
"Yep! I know where it is" the Gumdramon said eagerly, turning in the direction that he had come. "I've only been through a few times, but I could show you around if you want. You gotta be careful in the Terminus Market. It's easy to be ripped off if you don't know the trade here, the way of the barter and haggle so to say. Don't worry, my papa Hikaru taught me what to look out for here, so I'll do my best to keep you safe from bad deals~" he finished with what he hoped was a charming wink.

Much to Miko's horror, she had caused the little abnormally fluffy Gumdramon to trip! Embarrassment swiftly registered on her face. "No, no, it's my fault, I apologize." She quickly addressed Bezil, before she looked to Ramona, who definitely seemed to know the way she was looking for.
The problem that was presented, however, was simple. Ramona was absolutely tiny, and there was a big crowd of digimon around, so Miko jogged to catch up with the Wormmon! "Are you sure you know the way there? This place is...kind of crowded today, we could end up getting lost."
She wasn't too worried, though. There was sure to be a way out if they did end up getting lost...

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Jun 10, 2019 4:26:53 GMT
Hawkeye heard the human ask his Digimon friend that question as he walked past. Wait... who's THAT guy? What a rude way to ask a question, Hawkeye thought. That was another reason he stopped in his tracks aside from asking for directions to the marketplace.
"Just for future reference, human," Hawkeye said in a tone that can be described as a combination of intimidating, yet calm and collected, and overall pleasant, "tone is very important when asking a question. For example, the way you asked your friend who or what I was seemed very rude, as if I was considered to be, let's say, a freak. All I ask is to please be mindful of your tone, since I know your question is genuine."
The sheep-like Digimon began to tell the human about Hawkmons in general, and Hawkeye felt it was important to touch up on a couple of things. "Your friend is correct about certain things. Yes, I am a Hawkmon and we are normally polite, give or take a certain specific Hawkmons. However, I am a special case. I don't use my feather to attack; I use this." He then pulled out his trusty bow to show to the group.
Now Hawkeye still needed to know where the marketplace was, as he needed to shop for food and supplies. Luckily the furry Gumdramon had offered to show them all where the market was, even warning them about how some Digimon would rip them off and saying he could keep them safe from bad deals, thanks to his papa "Hikaru."
Hawkmon smiled; this kid reminded him of Kaya. "Your father sounds like a wise 'mon, kid. And I appreciate your offer, since this is my first time in Terminus. Name's Hawkeye, and you?"

Wormmon weren't exactly well known for their size, especially among fellow Rookie Digimon. Therefore, Miko's fears of getting lost weren't totally unfounded, and despite the loud chatter, wasn't totally unnoticed by Ramona either. But she knew she had to rectify that quickly, especially as she risked getting squashed by a large Digimon in the crowd. Luckily, that DNA Digivolution with Nikolay had it's benefits, as Miko was going to find out. "Lady, we literally just came in from here." Ramona pointed out to the Renamon, not turning around one, "And I lived here for all of my... past life." She placed heavy emphasis on the 'past life' part with a bit of a bittersweet tone. "But yes, this place is a little crowded today. But not to worry," as she spoke, she stopped in place and started to glow a little green and grow, "I can take you to the Trailmon Terminal easily. Just give me a second."Unlike Skadi, who actively declared her digivolution in the Arkadimon fight from Mallimon to Valaismon, Ramona was a bit more subtle in her own. Gone was the green, caterpillar like form as her body started her mutate into a more monstrous beetle/fly-like creature, with 4 wings springing from her back, and her small 'arms' turning into 2 sets of proper limbs with claw-like hands, while her tiny feet fused into a big pair of feet, and her claw-like stinger combined into a large spike on the bottom. And in place of her eyes were a black helmet with a large horn protruding out of it. The light dimmed, revealing her body to be a heavy dark blue, with patches of black in places, and her wings started to beat, a feeling that she shuddered in pure euphoria for the first time in a while. Jesmon Christ Mode she had missed this. The newly formed Kabuterimon turned over to the Renamon. No matter what the Renamon was feeling right now (although Kabuterimon was Vaccine, and Ramona genuinely did not mean harm, she wouldn't exactly blame her if the Renamon's immediate response was to turn tail and run), she approached her, saying in a casual tone not-quite-befitting a giant bug lady "Yes, I admit. Most mundane reason to digivolve into your next form the history of ever. But hey, at least you can see where I'm going now, and I don't risk getting squashed anymore. I'd call that a win-win." She then reached over to grab the Renamon's free hand (paw?). If she did, she'd hold it as tight as possible to the point where, outside of distracting the Kabuterimon with an attack, the Renamon would probably not be able to pull off so easily, before she would guide her to the station. ...or at least if she asked.
It seemed the Hammertail wasn't just as used to humans as he was to Digimon, or at the very least, the 'new folks', as he called it. For every Digimon Kenny saw in the human world, he kept getting Skadi to explain what they were. It felt a little weird for him to be on the receiving end of an analysis from a Digimon. Of course, it did come from him technically being an alien in a world full of monsters. The furry Hammertail/Gumdramon introduced himself as Bezil, mentioning about being the child of a 'Gaomon' and 'Dorumon'. Two Digimon Kenny never heard of before, but he proceeded to scratch his head in confusion. "Wait, Digimon can have children? Like, actual live offspring? I thought all of you hatched from eggs, or something."Kenny's confusion was not lost on Skadi, "Yeah..." she blushed as she added sheepishly (no pun intended), "We Digimon can breed. And that's all I'm going to say about that for now. Best we discuss this further in private sometime." Kenny just nodded to agree. Maybe discussing that in public was a little inappropriate. Unfortunately, Kenny's curious comment about the Hawkmon hadn't gone unnoticed by the Hawkmon, who called him out for what he said, and at once, Kenny felt his heart skip a beat. He hated screwing up, and the last thing he wanted to do in the Digital World was to leave a poor first impression. Even if the Hawkmon sounded calm and pleasant, it was clear he didn't sound happy about what he said. "Damnit, I'm an idiot." He just muttered under his breath.
Skadi looked at her bemoaning partner, and opted to approach the Hawkmon to talk to him, "Sorry about that. My partner's just still getting used to us Digimon. He's not a mean human by any stretch of the imagination, but he's more... adjusted, you know?" She chuckled a little bit of the very first memory she and Kenny had together, "When we first met, he immediately got freaked out and started to back away from me even though I was just an In-Training Digimon." Kenny started to blush slightly in embarrassment. To him at the time, she wasn't 'just an In-Training Digimon', she was a live dust bunny, "I hope you understand."
The Hawkmon would then pull out an archer bow to clarify how he fought. Any disappointment Kenny had slowly started to clear as he looked at it with sheer fascination, and even Skadi looked a little impressed by it. "Well, colour me surprised then. Didn't think you could do that." She turned back to Kenny, "You see, Kenny, each and every Digimon is unique in every way, shape and form, and just like the Digital World, we can be full of surprises."
Kenny couldn't help but look at the bow himself, "Never thought I'd see the day I see a bird wield a bow. That actually sounds really cool, now that I think about it." He smiled at the Hawkmon with interest; if he was a kid, he'd be losing his shit about that right about now.
Then the Hawkmon asked about going to the market to Bezil, who offered to show them there. While it was where Kenny and Skadi had learnt the Hawkmon's name ('Hawkeye') as he thanked Bezil, the real point of interest for him was the mention of his dad, Hikaru. Knowing Kenny's own relationship with his dad as he would follow Bezil to the market, it was good to make conversation as he asked the Gumdramon, "Hey Bezil, what is your dad like, anyways? He sounds really smart."
Ramona digivolves to Kabuterimon so she doesn't get trampled to death by the crowd. That's it.

Well, after that was sorted out, Bezil watched as the Wormmon evolved to Kabuterimon so that she could lead the brown Renamon to her intended destination. That was nice of them to do so.
The Hawkmon meanwhile seemed indignant at being called a "what". Bezil supposed that was a valid thing to be indignant about, so he hoped it wouldn't happen again. But he would have personally forgiven the human for saying that, given they seemed to be new here.
The Hawkmon appeared to have an impressive bow as a weapon. Bezil had only seen them in books so far. "Wow, that's a neat weapon" he stated. Then the Hawkmon said he'd like to go to the market too, then introduced himself as Hawkeye. "I'm Bezil, nice to meet ya" the Gumdramon replied.
Then the human seemed confused about digimon having children, as most humans seemed to be. Bezil was used to that by now though. "Yep. Well, I did hatch from an egg too, but the data that formed me came from both of my parents, who love each other very much." he explained. He supposed that was all that needed to be said for now.
As Bezil led them to the market, Kenny asked him what his dad was like. "Papa Hikaru's awesome. He's charming, fun, wise and savvy all in one. He's a real showman, and he loves me and all my brothers and sisters very much. He's the leader of KIZNA, which is a group based in the digital world that researches archaeology and helps keep the peace."
Then Bezil proceeded to talk about his other dad. "Daddo Owen's great too. He used to be a soldier, but he's retired now and acts as a teacher. He raised me from nearly the moment I hatched, and taught me almost everything I know about combat, adventuring and survival in the digital world."
Following that, they arrived in the grand mall of Terminus. Shops stretched as far as the eye could see, with a high glass ceiling above them to protect from the elements. As well as the established shops, there were temporary stalls and carts set up in the middle. It was truly the place to be within Terminus.
"Aand here we are" Bezil said, walking up to a directory. Thankfully the writing was both in digicode for digimon, and Japanese for humans. "Anything in particular that you're looking for?" he asked the group.

Wormmon usually digivolved to Stingmon, though Miko was aware that there were a number of outliers out in the world. She was not expecting Ramona to be one of these outliers that digivolved into something else, however. The Kabuterimon was huge, yes, but Miko did not run. She didn't see much reason to. The Kabuterimon terrified her a little, but she needed to be brave, right?
"...Yes, it would seem quite mundane to pull that out for this reason. But it's still an excuse, isn't it? So I say it works." Miko decided. It did afford a way to counteract -everything that Miko had pointed out- earlier that had posed danger to Ramona as a Wormmon. The bronze fox blinked her eyes as the large bug offered a hand/claw...And held her paw pretty tightly.
That was one way to ensure she didn't get lost. It was also quite the sight. "Um...Hey, did you just come from the Human World? Or do you just visit it often?" Miko asked as Ramona continued to guide her. The fox was trying her best to memorize the route.

If you asked Hawkeye what he should expect when talking to this group, he certainly wouldn't have expected the Wormmon to Digivolve into a giant Kabuterimon. Yet it still happened anyways. She didn't even have to train or anything, she just... DID it! Hawkeye had a hell of a hard time even digivolving to Rookie, so seeing this... it really made him quite jealous.
I have to train for weeks, possibly even MONTHS, to get to the next form and this Wormmon can Digivolve whenever she pleases? Hawkeye thought bitterly as he stared at Ramona, his eye twitching very slightly. God fricking dammit...
The archer was snapped out of his angry staring phase by the sheep Digimon... Skadi, was it? She apologized for the human's behavior, explaining that he was still getting adjusted to the Digimon way of things. In response, Hawkmon chuckled. "Heh. That's actually why I was in Terminus originally. A human girl just showed up in my village all of a sudden, and it was my job to bring her home. And it was a job that... well, that I completed..." Hawkeye began to look pretty sad after saying that. He didn't know why, though...
Kenny's attitude changed completely when Hawkeye explained how he fought. The human looked at Hawkeye with great interest, saying he didn't know Hawkeye could even do that. "It's not exactly a common thing a Digimon can do. I was born with corrupted data that affected my attacks and evolution rate. Takes me longer to Digivolve on my own, but I make do. In replace of normal attacks, I can charge small objects like my arrows with effects such as heat or ice."
After he was done explaining what he could do, the furry Gumdramon walked up to him and introduced himself as Bezil. "Pleasure to meet you, Bezil," Hawkeye said with a warm smile as he extended a wing for Bezil to shake.
Now he followed the furry Gumdramon to the grand mall in Terminus, a truly big place for a villager Digimon like Hawkeye. Bezil then asked if the group was looking for any specific place. "First I need to shop for food. Then I will need a general supply store."

Despite their Vaccine typing, a Kabuterimon's face left much to be desired. So unsurprisingly, the Renamon was looking a little scared. Surprisingly, despite her timid nature, she did not throw up her hands and run for the hills, but rather, just agreed with Ramona's little explanation. Which was good, because the Kabuterimon had grabbed onto the Renamon's hand with an iron grip, and was now practically pulling her to the station. It may not have been the most friendly or inviting way to do this, but hey, the Renamon (theoretically) could not argue with results.
Leading her through wave after wave of Digimon as she lead the Renamon there, the Rookie-level asked if Ramona came from the human world or visited it frequently. Ramona just shrugged, "Funny you should ask that. I've actually lived through the Digital World for a lot of my life, both this life and my past life, may I add. You see, I'm actually a doctor. Or a doctor-in-training. And I've recently decided to move to the real world to learn about human medicine, so I can apply it to the Digital World."
She looked back behind her shoulder. Even though Kenny, Skadi, and their cronies were way out of sight, she still had to indicate them, "That boy right there is Kenny, and that sheep Digimon is Skadi, who's a Valaismon. On my first night here, I didn't get quite a good reception: Kenny got really frightened and whacked me over the head with a pillow. Of course, when I explained who I was, and how I could help, they let me live with them. I live in a tree, near their house. And it's pretty roomy. Not enough to swing a Gatomon in, but it's good enough for me."
The sudden flash of digivolution, courtesy of Ramona was not lost on Kenny and Skadi as wasn't on Bezil or Hawkeye. But while Kenny watched with interest and confusion, Skadi was watching with amazement herself. Oh, how she longed to reach her next true form, to be able to fight, and to be powerful. It didn't matter to her the Wormmon was only doing this to avoid being turned into mush by the crowd; she turned into a Champion, and it was amazing.
Skadi's explanation about Kenny's fumble made the Hawkmon laugh a bit (which made Kenny breath a sigh of relief), before explaining briefly on why he was at Terminus that day; he managed to bring a human girl home, but he seemed pretty sad about after that. The Valaismon looked at him empathetically, before leaning out to touch his shoulder to reassure him, "Hey Hawkeye, are you OK?" She asked him.
Hawkeye then explained about why he used the bow; he bore corrupted data within him, which screwed with not only his ability to digivolve, but also his attacks, allowing to shoot elemental arrows. "Hey, I gotta admit, man," he told Hawkeye, "That's still pretty cool. I couldn't shoot an arrow to save my life, period." Then he just rubbed the back of his neck with his hand as he added, "And I'm sorry for calling you a 'that' earlier. But like Skadi said, I'm still pretty new to this whole Digimon thing, and I've barely any time to adjust to it. Still, I hope you can forgive me."
Bezil had two dads? Of course, Kenny found nothing wrong with a gay relationship, fully supporting the LGBT community. But the fact that 2 male Digimon were able get together to produce an egg and a furry dragon baby from it was a bit of a surprise. But he only smiled and said, "Well, I'm glad you have such loving parents then, Bezil." If he prodded for questions from the Gumdramon, they'd be here all day.
According to Bezil, his dad (well, dads) were both great people: Hikaru loved his own son, quite a showoff, and the leader of a group called KIZNA, researchers of the Digital World, and Owen was a retired solider-turned-teacher who taught Bezil all he knew. Kenny listened keenly and thoroughly as the group walked to their destination, and as Bezil finished up, Kenny was flooded with memories of all the times he and his dad spent together. Owen did sound a little familiar though, sharing the same name as Adrian and Shoutmon's 'friend', "Heh, your parents must be really amazing then. They actually kind of remind me of my own dad. And he's amazing. He's a programmer and he's been working on a whole slew of stuff to help people who... how to put this, need a little bit more help than normal, like me. And I hope to be just like him one day." He smiled at the Gumdramon, "I'd actually really like to meet your parents someday, Bezil. They sound like great people to hang with."
Skadi, however, had her own focus on the matter, "You're dad's the leader of KIZNA?" She uttered in surprise. "That's so cool! I really hope we get to meet them someday!"
Upon arrival at the Terminus mall, Kenny looked upon the stalls and stalls of Digimon selling pretty much everything as far as the eye can see, while Bezil introduced them. Skadi happily nudged her partner with excitement, ready to show him everything around him. When Bezil opened up to suggestions where to go, Hawkeye replied by saying he wanted to go shop for food, then general supplies. "Yeah, I'm going with Hawkeye. Besides, I have been wondering what Digimon food is like." He chuckled.
"Not to spoil anything, but it's really great." Skadi replied.

Bezil looked at Hawkeye with sympathy. Being born with corrupted data was never a pleasant thing. His younger sister Persephone had a similar illness, somewhat worse in that it affected her physical ability too, but he wasn't going to reveal that just yet.
Still, Bezil shook Hawkeye's wing politely, giving a smile. Owen had taught him that a friendly but firm handshake was the key to a good first meeting. Not limp like a fish, and not clamping like a crab, enough to show enthusiasm for a friendship.
Bezil then beamed at the praise that Kenny gave. "Thanks. I hope you meet them sometime too, they're really awesome digimon."
It turned out that Kenny was proud of his dad too. With this, Bezil was more understanding. He had been told that with humans, it was only physically possible for them to have been born from a mother and a father. And so with this, he didn't question, instead he looked eager. "I'd like to meet your dad too, Kenny, he sounds brilliant" he said with enthusiasm.
Bezil then turned to Skadi, intrigued that she was familiar with KIZNA. "Yep, he sure is. I hope to be part of KIZNA too, but, I think it'd be best to wait until I get some experience under my belt first, just so I'm not a burden on my first expedition."
As they reached the shopping mall, the consensus was that they should look for some food first, then supplies.
"Well then, the food court it is!" Bezil announced, then led the group toward the snacking area of the mall. Here there was a great variety of food stalls open and ready to take orders. There was a sandwich bar, sushi bar, chinese food bar, burger bar, taco bar, pizza and pasta bar, and numerous other specialty kitchens ready for service.
"The food might not be the best quality here, but they'll do for hungry shoppers." Bezil explained. "The prices are pretty reasonable too, so, just pick whatever you want and we can have some lunch together."
With that, Bezil proceeded to the sushi bar, thinking he was in the mood for that. He ordered 3 rolls - salmon, prawn and chicken, then returned to a large empty table in the middle of the food court, awaiting his other newly made acquaintances.

Huh, a reincarnated Digimon that's also learning to be a practitioner of medicine? Before Miko could distract herself with the mental image of a Kabuterimon wearing scrubs, she made herself focus on what Ramona was telling her. "...That's interesting. I've heard about those sorts of people, but I've never met one in person before. Or someone who wanted to be like that, for that matter. Is it true they have an oath to do no harm?"
She looked behind herself at Ramona's direction. So, the sheep was a Valaismon...The human was Kenny, and the Gumdramon and Hawkmon. It then occurred to Miko she had NEVER ONCE SAID HER NAME. That was a grave error on her part!
"...My name is Miko. Simply Miko. It's nice to meet you."
