Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Jun 7, 2019 13:02:10 GMT
It had been a week since Kenny and Skadi had agreed to be taken under Valt's wing to be trained by him and Ryouta. And after having a little talk over Tamernet about where to train and where to go, they, and their accomplice, Ramona were lounging in the blue Trailmon Worm, Kenny fiddling on his phone, as Skadi napped on his lap, and Ramona just reading. But the young man's mind still couldn't grasp that he was basically riding in the body of a live train at this point. And he heard rumblings about this KIZNA group who allegically called this place home But besides that. The memory of Skadi's battle with Valt - as Cardinaldramon - still rang in his head. Friendly spar or not (and thank God, Buddha and Arceus it was merely a friendly spar), the Ultimate-level muscular drake still made quick work of Skadi - as Weatherdramon - easily. A thought started to come into his head as he looked at his dozing partner: What if we end up against an enemy that Skadi cannot defeat. She's always proposed she wants to protect me. What if she can't even protect herself? I mean, Cardinaldramon was an Armour Ultimate and Weatherdramon's just an Armour Champion. She can't even reach Ultimate yet. What if she dies and she gets loaded and...
No. No. Deep breaths, Kenny. Deep breaths. He reminded himself, as he breathed in and out, Nothing bad is going to happen today. Valt's going to train us. He's going to make Skadi stronger, and help her become a true hero. There is nothing to worry about. Just think positive today, Kenny, just think positive...He had to get his mind off things. With a nervous sigh, he tapped the shoulder of the green gilled, aqua armoured Ranamon sitting next to him, who just turned around to him and smiled, "Yes?""Hey, uh, I heard quite a bit about these KIZNA guys. Do you know much about them?" He asked her. Maybe it wasn't appropriate to ask random Digimon about this, but any help would be appreciated. The Ranamon just put a hand to her mouth and giggled at the young man's obliviousness, "You must've not been in the Digital World for long, haven't you sweetie?"
"Uh, yeah, I can safely say I haven't." He replied, "The Digital World must be bigger than I've imagined, huh?"
"Way bigger. Surprising you haven't caught onto that yet." The Ranamon giggled again, "Anyway, KIZNA is a big organisation in the Digital World. They mainly work to maintain order between the two worlds, explore as much of it as possible, and unearth all it's secrets. They help maintain harmony in the Digital World, and have these really neat uniforms and Digivices too." As the Ranamon explained this to him, Kenny couldn't be any more invested. This KIZNA group sounded much more exciting than he was led to believe from all this talk. The Ranamon leaned onto her end of the seat and put her hands behind her head, "Aaah, someday, I'd like to join them myself."Kenny chuckled a little bit with the Ranamon, "Yeah, this KIZNA group does sound interesting. I hope I can- we can meet them someday myself." He pet Skadi gently, as to not to wake her up. Almost immediately, the Ranamon leaned down to him to whisper in his ear. "I'll let you in on a little secret: you might be able to today. Ys is the base of operations of KIZNA." Kenny's jaw dropped in shock upon hearing that. Was Ryouta really telling him to go there because he was part of KIZNA? No, maybe just a coincidence. But the prospect of meeting a member was starting to nervously excite him. To be able to meet with Digital World celebrities... His train of thought was immediately interrupted by the cry of the Trailmon conductor's announcement from the speakers as the train started to slow down and the whistle blowed: "Next stop: Ys!" Skadi leapt in his lap and darted her head around, landing straight into the eyes of the Ranamon, giggling yet again at him as the fishwoman pet her on the head as well. "Well, guess that's our stop." He said, as he put Skadi on the ground, "Thanks for telling me about KIZNA." He walked out of the train, Ramona, Skadi and the Ranamon following suit, the Valaismon giving a little smile at the friendly Ranamon. "Anytime, dear." The Ranamon smiled and ruffled Kenny's hair, "If there's any opening for KIZNA, do let me know, OK?" Giving one last giggle, she walked away as she waved to the trio goodbye, walking her own path opposite of where Kenny, Skadi, and Ramona were going, "Hey Kenny, who were you talking to back there?" Skadi asked as they walked. "Just someone helpful." He responded, as he looked back to the Ranamon one last time before she disappeared into the crowd. Finally, the trio reached their destination, and while Skadi and Ramona looked on with interest, Kenny looked on with sheer awe at the crystal blue area that greeted them. The place was practically a great crystal blue, with a small mountains, lush blue plantlife, and a large stairway in front of them to name a few. "Sweet Jesus..." Kenny could only mutter in sheer awe. It was exactly like in the Tamernet photo Valt sent him, but a million times much more spectacular. He rubbed his eyes, trying to check whenever he was hallucinating or not. He wasn't. Meanwhile, Ramona just stretched her arms and yawned. Her interest quickly wore off, like if it was somewhere she had been before. "So, where do we meet Ryouta and Valt again?" She asked. Kenny could only shrug. "I'm not sure yet. They said they'd meet us today. I don't know," He pulled out his D-Terminal, "Guess we better tell them we're here now!" And with that, he started typing while Skadi started to look around, keeping as close to Kenny as humanly possible in case danger arose.

A message appeared on Kenny and Skadi's D-Terminal.
PZ:RyouRyou: Alright, just stay there. In the arrival platform, right? I'll get you two shortly.
The moment they stepped out from the arrival platform, they would find themselves in Grand Central Station-like building made out of coral and marble. There are futuristic touches here and there, especially the receptionist, the schedules for the train arrival and departure, and from where are they. There are also some souvenir shops, just in case those who wanted to bring back anything from the city. There are also cafes and whatnot... and among that all, entered the young man that let his partner sparred with them, in different looking clothes from the usual.
His Crest of Justice with its tag now hanging on his neck in plain sight. The cerulean crest contrasted with the yellow of the tag. Ryouta is wearing a massive white jacket with blue accents and golden accessories on its sleeves. Underneath that he wears black skin tight compression suit that pretty much showed his built physique. For the pants, it's more in line of simple white trousers with numbers of pockets. God know what he put inside. Beside him is XVmon-- Valt. He looked far more menacing and battle scarred than the Vmon they met before. Some workers greeted Ryouta and Valt, and they seem to return the greeting one by one in friendly manner... and then, their sight stopped on Skadi and Kenny. Their expression immediately softened and just like the friendly duo they was back then in the Spartan Training Ground, they waved at them.
"Yo, you guys arrived on time! I saw your message earlier," Ryouta took out a cake box from his Infini-store and hands it to Skadi. "Hope you like some of my experimental cakes."
"Strawberry Crimson, Chocolate Surprise and Bittersweet Lemons are its names. I tested it, it's great~" Valt commented. "They're not warm type cakes though, so I hope you two doesn't mind cold type.. Anyway..." he clapped once. "Ready for training? I hope you do! But first, have you ate? If not, you would probably need to eat first. Just don't stuff your cheeks... Oh, come to think of it, should we just ride Ilbert?"
"Isn't it too flashy? I think we should just take one of the aircab or something."
"True enough. But hey, what do you want to do first? It's fine if we just sightsee for a while~" Valt told them.
...It's probably at this time too that Kenny would notice the KIZNA badge on Ryouta's coat, along with its motto.
Iuncti Fortes Sumus.

Beep.
Almost as soon as Kenny sent that message, the response was almost immediate, this time from Ryouta telling him to wait there so they would pick them up. Skadi and Ramona turned their head in response the D-Terminal's beep as well, and Skadi tried to look up, "Kenny, what does it say?" She asked, looking a little curious.
Kenny just looked at the message again, "He said to just wait for him. He's coming to get us in a minute." And with that, he put the D-Terminal into his bag and took a long glance at the station inside. It was almost like if he was back at Parramatta station all over again, except in lieu of humans, monsters were everywhere, and the odd tamer or two, "Still, can't help but admit this place is amazing. And hard to believe that we're actually near KIZNA's base, too. Just hope we can meet up with one of their member's today."
Skadi meanwhile put a hand to her chin, "Hey, speaking of meeting up, where's Ryouta and Valt, anyways? I was just starting to miss those guys." Kenny could only chuckle to himself remembering the last week, how Kenny and Skadi just happened to hit it off easily with Ryouta and Valt, the spontaneous, last minute bet before the battle with Cardinaldramon, the resulting forfeit seeing both of them get tossed into the river, only for the victors to join them on their own volition, and Valt's proposal to take the tamer and Digimon under his wing to make them heroes. All in record time too. It was almost enough to forget about his fears about potentially dangerous Ultimates that Cardinaldramon accidentally taught them about.
Almost.
Speak of the devil, Ryouta came in, wearing a small dogtag (or at least, looked like a dogtag) around his neck, and this time, a large white jacket, along with a giant blue dragon, resembling a much less bulky, armourless Cardinaldramon, but with a multitude of scars on him. And yet, the workers were greeting them, like an old friend. It was the Spartan Training Grounds all over again. Yet the giant blue dragon following Ryouta caught Kenny's attention, like a moth to flame. It was almost familiar in a way, "Is- is that Valt? He looks very ripped" Kenny muttered in awe.
"I think that is." Skadi replied. She didn't forget Valt mentioning his ExVeemon form to her just before he threw her in the lake, "He's an ExVeemon. They're very powerful Champion Digimon that possess sheer strength and power in combat."
"Thank God he's on our side then." Kenny remarked in response, before smiling slightly, "You know, if I was a kid, I'd be flipping out right now. Like, there's a live dragon, right then and there, right in front of me. It'd be like, the coolest thing ever."
And just as Kenny said that, Ryouta and Valt turned to see them and greeted them warmly and with a wave. Kenny and Skadi hadn't forgotten them themselves, warmly smiling and waving back (Ramona did wave, albeit a bit more calmly). "Hey Ryouta! Hey Valt! Long time no see!" Kenny called out to them. Ryouta greeted them back, before pulling out his own Infini-store, and handing her a cake box. Oh, right. Kenny thought, Skadi asked Ryouta to bring those cakes with him. Skadi's sweet tooth knows no bounds, it seems.
Skadi did not waste a single second opening the box almost immediately, and the moment she did, her mouth started to water, making Kenny chuckle again. "Wow! Thanks Ryouta!" She exclaimed happily. Valt would then tell her about the cakes and what he thought of them, making her mouth water more and gaze at them hungrily.
Jokingly, Kenny commented with a chuckle as he looked at his hungry partner, "You're not helping." He then tuned to Ryouta, "But seriously. Thanks guys. We really appreciate it. But it's best we save this for later." He took the box off Skadi, and put it into his own Infini-store, Skadi trying to make grabby hands all the while. "I'm sorry, Skadi. But maybe we should wait until after lunch to have these. I don't want you to get sick now."
Skadi still did feel a pang of disappointment, but smiled and nodded, "OK, Kenny. I understand" As per usual, Kenny leaned down and ruffled Skadi's hair, as she giggled. It had become his way of showing affection to Skadi, like his dad before him, who tended to ruffle his hair as a kid. Presumably, his grandad did it to his dad too. Valt then asked if the duo what they wanted to do first. Skadi clenched her fists in excitement. "Hell yeah, I'm ready to do some training! You ready to do some training, Kenny?" It was clear Skadi wasn't exactly the best at containing her excitement. She had been practically counting down the days before her first training session.
Kenny just sighed and chuckled. That Skadi had so much energy, she could practically power a whole city from her sheer enthusiasm. "Yeah, I think I'm ready as well. We can go sightsee later, to cool down. But I don't think the residents here would really appreciate us fighting in the middle of a train station, so why don't we go outsi-"
He stopped. Something shiny had caught his eye. Right there on Ryouta's coat was a badge. The KIZNA badge, just right there. Kenny just gasped slowly, before looking Ryouta dead in the eye. His amazement was practically undeniable. "Wait a minute: you guys are part of KIZNA? The KIZNA?" Ramona just looked at Kenny like if he went nuts. She spotted it way before anyone else, but declined to answer. But Kenny started to chuckle excitedly, "Holy shit! You guys didn't tell me you guys were part of KIZNA! That's amazing! You're amazing!" His chuckles started to grow into excited laughter. It was like if his young kid self had temporarily assumed control for a few moments. He then turned to Skadi, "You hear that, Skadi? They're part of KIZNA!"
"I know! I heard you!" Skadi felt just as, if not even more, excited to hear what they were. The fact that she had sparred with a KIZNA Digimon, of all Digimon, that past week had made her even more excited. "I can't believed I sparred with a Digimon from KIZNA! Goddramon, I'm so happy!" She giggled uncontrollably.
Finally, Kenny calmed down, and blushed a little from his embarrassing display. "Oh, uh, sorry Ryouta." He chucked as he rubbed the back of his head, "I was told on the way there we were going to where KIZNA usually is, and I heard about them during my time in the Digital World so far. And I was just hoping to meet one of them today, and you just happen to be one of those guys. Like I said, that's amazing, and you're amazing." Cue a quick sigh of happiness, before he continued, "So, uh, where should we go first?"

Ryouta was admittedly really happy seeing these trio. It's been a while. "Don't worry about the locale. It isn't like we're going to train in public space. That'd be a punishable crime you know? We'll go to the training ground later. So training first eh? Have you ate yet? I know a nice place. I hope you don't mind me bringing us there if you haven--" but he was admittedly cut by Kenny suddenly seeing his badge.
Oh... right... He forgot how much of celebrity KIZNA is at the moment. As you're Ultimate stages, they would sing praises about you... and if you're part of organization, they probably would pretty much treat you like a grand celebrity or something. Ryouta felt flattered, but even then he's not a guy who's used to fame. He sheepishly rubs the back of his neck.
"Gee, guys, I don't know that I'm that popular..."
"It's more like that your alter ego is popular... not that many see you out of that mask and all that when you're in duty you know?"
"Which--Oh..." Ryouta quickly took out a mask from his Infini-store. It's only a mouthpiece, resembling a noh mask... In a sense, it looked like Dramon Digimon's mouthpiece, with no opening at all. However it's seem that Ryouta can breathe out of it just fine. He combed his hair back with his hand.... and then the difference made apparent. If there are any news in newspaper, or somewhere in the net about the young man in front of them, it's not Ryouta...
"...Commander Tatsu of KIZNA Assault Team, at your service." that voice that came out from the mask was altered to be deeper, commandeering, colder. The moment he wore that mask, Ryouta's usually friendly silverish blue eyes lost its friendly warmth. The coldness of it were one of a warrior. With his hair slicked back, he looked more mature. Ryouta looks slightly intimidating, but when he smiles he looked like a cheerful 18 years old... Meanwhile, this young man in front of them is more to a warrior without any hint of humor and cheerfulness of the guy from before...
Luckily they're not in his presence not for long.. Ryouta quickly took off the mask and stuck his tongue out. "Did that scare you~? Hehehe~ I'm still the old Ryouta you know? Still, not that many found me intimidating, so I started wearing the mask. Anyway ahem, let's get out of this building shall we?"
The moment they get out of the building fully, they would see the bustling city... and the fact what 'little mountain' they saw is only a small hill. The city was actually inside a caldera of a mountain. The city is bustling with digimon of various origin. There are canals for water Digimon, street for ground Digimon, and even air traffic for flying Digimons. The buildings are not to skyscraper level, but thanks to elevation level of the ground, it looked like the city itself sin't flat either. Multitudes of stairs leading to various places of the city are installed.
"Let's ride the air taxi shall we?" Ryouta guided the two to a air cab.. It looked like a cab in shape of mini airship. After the four entered in, Ryouta made himself comfortable.
"Whew, uh so, what do you want to do today before training? Or do you want to train first?"

For someone who casually sparred with muscular lizardmen (and without being a Spirit Wielder himself), had a build that would make Machoke blush, and now turned out to be a part of one of the Digital World's biggest organisation, he turned out to be surprisingly modest about it... or perhaps unsurprisingly, considering when he fulfilled his part of the bet, he just jumped into the lake and laughed about it with Kenny, which killed any sort of a tough guy persona he had... and then Valt mentioned about Ryouta's alter-ego.
"Wait, alter ego?" Kenny spoke up. In almost the span of a few seconds, Ryouta had put on a weird mouthpiece, slicked his hair back, and introduced himself as 'Commander Tatsu', in a deeper, eerie voice, and a creepier, scarier disposition. Kenny's blood immediately ran cold, and he slowly stepped back as a fearful look spread on his face. Even the normally brave Skadi started to shiver a bit at the big scary man. "...sweet Jesus Christ." was all Kenny could get out at this point. The only one who was not intimidated was Ramona, who just glanced at the duo wryly.
It was of sheer relief that Ryouta quickly took off the mouthpiece and lightly teased them about it. The chuckles emitted by Kenny and Skadi after that was a mixture of light-hearted and heavy relief on their end. It turned out that Ryouta would use it to make it sound intimidating. "Heh. Thank God you're on our side, then." Kenny joked, with a sense of genuine relief. If anything, it just showed to him that being on Ryouta's bad side was the last thing he wanted to handle.
It was then Ryouta told them it was time for them to get out of the station. "Yeah, I guess we should. I've been wanting to check out more of this place, anyways." Kenny just smiled, and with that, the trio proceeded to follow Ryouta and Valt out of the station, Skadi looking up at Valt's Champion-level form with admiration. Weatherdramon was the closest thing to a Champion form she had, and that was a mere Armour. She was yet to reach her real Champion form, and to her, she was hoping Valt would rectify that as soon as possible.
And then Kenny, Skadi, and Ramona stepped outside into the city of Ys. And it was more spectacular than either the human, still trying to comprehend the whole scale of the Digital World, or the partner Digimon, who never stepped hoof in the city until now, had ever imagined. The city, accustomed to every Digimon of shape and size, practically made the steel walled Terminus City look like a bog-standard town. Just as Kenny thought he had seen it all, the Digital World and the residential Digimon would up and pull out the rug underneath him. At this point, he would be surprised if he wasn't surprised by what the Digital World would hit him with next. He was immediately snapped out of his daze by Ryouta, gesturing him and Skadi to get into an 'air cab'. And he quickly just rubbed his eyes. Was he dreaming? This sort of thing was something that wouldn't be out of place in a set of a very expensive sci-fi movie.
But first he had to take care of something. He turned to Ramona, "Hey Ramona, you coming?"
"Eh, you guys go ahead." Ramona shrugged at them, "I'll probably get some shopping done. I'm kind of running low on supplies. Call me when you guys are done, OK? I'll meet you back here." And with that, she turned and flew off to own little excursion. As for Kenny, his head was still spinning as he and Skadi climbed into the air cab and buckled up, Skadi just patting her partner's knee to help ease his nerve. The more he got deeper into the world of Digimon, the more he had to convince himself it wasn't a dream.
Then Ryouta asked about what they could do first, sightsee or train. Skadi just looked at her partner knowingly. "Well, it seems Skadi is really eager to start training, so yeah, maybe we should start training first, then we could wind down with a bit of sightseeing, if that's OK with you." Then he turned to Skadi, "But no bets without my permission. I swear, my dad was commenting about that 'weird pond smell' in the house the other night." He joked again, causing Skadi to giggle cheekily.
"Aw come on!" She commented, "You enjoyed it! Remember?" She proceeded to rib Kenny until he relented, in which he started chuckling himself.
"Okay, yeah, I admit it. I did enjoy it." He just felt more welcoming to this 'new Kenny' that had been developing inside of him. 'Old Kenny' would never approve of this. He'd probably be running off in fear, or trying to fight back pathetically the second Ryouta grabbed him, And blubbering the second he hit the water. Skadi, in a way, was the foundation that 'new Kenny' was being built upon. And only just recently he was starting to notice it.
But questions about KIZNA had been building up in his head constantly, so why not use that now to try and break the ice while they waited for the air cab to take them? "So, Ryouta, Valt," he started, "What's it like working for KIZNA?" Probably a dumb question to ask, because of all the attention muscular young adult got (seriously, he was like a minor celebrity at this point), and the little chat with the friendly Ranamon on the Trailmon, but hey, straight from the horse's mouth.

On their side? Ryouta chuckled and shook his head wryly. "Of course I'm in your side, silly. I'm your senior and trainer after all, right? Well if you want to antagonize me that's another matter altogether..." at that a bit of sly smirk graced his face, almost like a hungry dragon who would love some good fight. "But I'd rather not. I rather have a lot of friends than one enemy, and especially not when it's like you two~ I'd rather have you as my friends~"
Once they gone out, Valt cannot help but to chirp "Welcome to Ys, our pride and honor, the ancient city revived!" He opened his arm wide, presenting the city and its sight to his new disciples. "It's been approximately two months or so when project city restoration is executed... so it's about six years Digital World time. Quite great isn't it? ...Honestly, to think that the entire budget of the city revival was because of some misbilling of all thing..."
"Just what did Hikaru was misbilled for anyway?"
"Mercenary contract of Super Ultimate level."
"Well no shit sherlock that it'll be that expensive..." Ryouta muttered.
Ramona seem to prefer to go her own way for the moment. Valt obviously understood that. "If you need to go shopping, go ride a tram to the shopping district. They're somewhat close from here, just follow the signs on the road and you'll definitely see it!"
Once they're inside the air cab, Valt laughed remembering how the two of them also just followed suit with the bet and, ignoring who's winning and losing, just immediately followed the losing two. "Aww, c'mon Kenny! What's the worst of bets anyway? Whoever lose got himself buffeted with snowballs?"
"Hey, no, Ys Snowballs are kind of nasty. Too salty." Ryouta protested
"Aw, that's true."
Looks like both party are safe from the salt laced snowballs for now. Kenny meanwhile asked them how it felt to work for KIZNA... work for?
"No I wouldn't say 'I work for KIZNA'... How to say, this is a bit of a complicated topic but..."
Ryouta looked at Valt for help and he too looked pensive. "...OK, so... let's change the perspective. Kenny, if you're the boss of a store, would you say that you work for your store? Or do you work for yourself?" it's a bit of a rhetoric question from Valt. Either way, the dragon would soon continue.
"So we're not 'working for' KIZNA. We're its finding member and it's cadre. How to say... Cadres has more intimate position than 'working for KIZNA'. At first, we're just a mere team, you know... team that wanted to build a city, team that wanted to improve the world, and trying to unearth Digital World's mystery...."
"But the team sorta expanded."
"That, yeah," Valt agreed to Ryouta. "The team expanded, and we're no longer just... 'the team, KIZNA', but 'the Organization, KIZNA'. I think some of us still haven't fully understood the weight of this... either way, it leads our leader Itou Yuuki to make a... differentiation between 'working for' and 'is KIZNA'. If you want to merely join KIZNA then you can go to that building over there..."
Valt pointed at a gigantic building. It's about five houses tall and a housing complex wide. Its appearance is quite grand and there are KIZNA insignia on the top of the building, along with its motto.
"But that's just pretty much the administrative building you see," he told them. "That's place where the KIZNA members who 'works for KIZNA' usually gathered. Joining is simple. You just walk there... have interview, they'll contact you the next day about it. However... joining the cadres of KIZNA is another matter altogether."
Ryouta nodded at this. "On top of voicing your interest to join, being cadre of KIZNA means you're directly invited to join the team by one of the cadres or the leader himself. It might sounds like nepotism, but we wanted that... our team to be like a big family and close friends friends. Organization doesn't suit us to be honest... but then we just noticed how important it is to expand ourselves... That's why we decide to make this distinction. Hope that answered your question."
"...Actually, that's a good point to brought up. Since you guys are so interest on it... how about this? If you two reached Adult Stage in our training, I'll talk to Yuuki and suggest adding you as our newest cadre! That's the bet!"
At first Ryouta wanted to retort to that but... he immediately rethinked about it.
"....Actually.... yeah, that sounds preferrable. We have some open spot... and I think you'd be a nice addition!"

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Jun 15, 2019 13:13:49 GMT
Valt seemed really prideful about Ys, and to be honest, he had every right to be. Although him namedropping Hikaru (one of Bezil's 2 biological dads) had hit Kenny and Skadi like a ton of bricks, after talking about a 'misbilling' for the city. If he was the leader of KIZNA, then did he really run the city itself as well? Then he had to take the form of a majestic entity, rivalling even Gods. He had to ask that later.
As the airship took off, Ramona had listened, going off to follow the signs as was required. She did need a bit of time all to herself, and she did feel the bits were weighing her down a little bit. Kenny and Skadi waved as Ramona flew off into the station, and she turned a little and waved back with a genuine smile. Despite her snarkiness, she had grown quite an attachment to the boy and lamb duo.
If anything, she remembered to get them a little something.
Kenny and Skadi’s memory of the bet that left all parties (except Gam and Ramona) soaking wet had managed to jog Valt's own memory, suggesting that this time, the loser would be pelted with snowballs. Immediately Skadi blurted out "That sounds go-", before Kenny clamped his hand over her mouth again. And Ryouta seemed to be on the same boat, as he pointed out that the snow there was too salty to use.
"Well, how about we save that for Snowflake Vill-" Another mouth clamp. While it may sound like fun, Kenny wasn't easily going to admit to it. But Skadi was essentially the bridge that got Kenny to interact with others more. And if it wasn't for her, he'd probably remain lonely for the rest of his days.
That was when Kenny popped the question about working for KIZNA, and… good Lord, that was quite the doozy to listen to. Ryouta had clarified that he didn't exactly 'work for KIZNA' and Valt would ask a rhetorical question about working as a boss at a store. "Hmm… well, back home, my dad always did tell me that when you get your first job, you'll finally be able to support yourself, and not just financially. So I'd say it be the latter, if I'm correct."
As Valt went on about his and Ryouta's role in KIZNA, he proceeded to elaborate on the details, including pointing out they were the team 'cadre' and elaborating on that detail, the team's humble beginnings, the expansion into a full-fledged organization, and mentioning the (other) leader, Itou Yuuki, all the while Kenny and Skadi listened keenly. The more Valt had told them about KIZNA, the more amazing these people seemed. No wonder people like the friendly Ranamon on the train seemed to fawn over them.
Valt would then tell them about 'merely joining KIZNA' while pointing at the adjacent building. Despite the fact that it was only used for job interviews, it still looked pretty damn impressive from the outset as Kenny and Skadi looked outside, the former letting out a small but amazed "Wow." as he looked at the building. Nothing in the real world back at home compared to this. Ryouta would then explain that in order to join the team proper, somebody had to directly invite you to the team. And you know what? Kenny did seem interested about joining at this point. He nodded keenly as Ryouta finished up, but before he could say anything...
Valt had made quite the proposal to Skadi at today's training: if she managed to digivolve into her proper Champion form in the training session (so no falling back on Weatherdramon), he would try and get the duo onto the team, and Ryouta agreed. Immediately, Kenny's eyes widened in surprise, and Skadi gasped loudly. She wanted to reach Champion for a while now. She wanted to get stronger, not just to protect the world, but Kenny as well. She didn't hesitate. "I accept!" She proclaimed excitedly. "I shall not let you down today, senpai!."
Kenny could only chuckle happily as he ruffled Skadi's hair happily. "Well, I guess if she's up for it, then I'm up for it too, then. Thank you, Ryouta." He told him, "I've put a lot of my faith in Skadi ever since we became friends, and I really think it's going to pay off big time today, now that you mention it."
He hoped so. Inside, he prayed to God, Buddha and Arceus that he wouldn't hold his partner back by mistake.

Good, looks like everything is set on stone. Valt would grin approvingly. "Well you're not letting anyone down today, girl. I'll make sure that you don't... although, I guess I have another surprise for ya in the bag."
Valt would then ask Ryouta for his D-Nexus, and Ryouta obliged. He typed something like someone who's totally used to the object... this part of the interaction is obviously not for Skadi and Kenny to know... but probably best that way, because the one that Valt called would be a biiiit too overeager...
From: <KIZNA Gloria> Valt To: <KIZNA Gloria> Ophelia
Yo, got some fresh newbies to train. You got a junior, girl. Well, two actually. Hop down to the training center in fifteen minutes or I'll double your training for the day >83
After he sent the message, the entourage arrived at a certain building. It's on the farthest north end of the city, and it's embedded inside a frozen waterfall... where could the water source be? No one know. Why is it a waterfall? No one knows either. But they're here... that building looks like it could hold about a thousand people training together and there are still some empty spaces.
"...By the way this is Ys' Cerulean Gym. It's capacity is 1000 adult stage at the same time. We'll be moving straight to seventh floor, that's where the private training ground is." Valt told Skadi and Kenny.
The inside is like the outside, mostly, but more warm thanks to orange crystals scattered around the pillars of the building. They emit warmth, but not enough to melt the waterfall outside. It looked like some temple, almost like Aztec in nature. There are some humans and Digimons, solo Digimons, and some spirit users training. Ryouta ignored all of those and walked to the receptionist desk.
"Hello sir, how may I help you today?" a Yukidarumon asked.
"Hello Colette, is the seventh floor empty today?"
"Seventh floor is it? No one is using it at the moment, Sir."
"Good. If you don't mind, I'd like about..." Ryouta looked at the clock. "...three hours of uninterrupted training. If Ophelia come here, please tell her to get to the seventh floor immediately, please."
"As you command."
"Well, then, Kenny, Skadi, let's head to the seventh floor, shall we?"
He then turned toward the elevator and pressed the button to call it down. It's apparent that there is a private elevator and the more commonly used elevator. The private elevator seem to openable with KIZNA badge, one that Ryouta flashed toward a sensor. When Ryouta used the elevator, he doesn't look all that satisfied somehow.
Anyway, there are index of the floor... The first floor is reception and general sparring area. Second floor is heavy equipments floor, which seem includes barbels and whatnots. The third floor is aerobics and athletic course, fourth floor have swimming and wall climbing area. Fifth floor includes move testing rooms, where one can privately tests the effect of their techniques at dummies. Sixth floor is challenge area...
meanwhile, seventh floor to tenth apparently are Cadre-only areas.

When Ophelia had gotten the message, she would've been snuggled up to her sister - Cassie - in their room. The Spadamon and Gomamon-X duo would be in a practical nest of pillows, blankets - anything comfortable and warm that they found and could get their hands on. Soft purring would be audible as Ophelia and Cassie groomed each other - Ophelia running her claws thru the fluff atop Cassie's head and her chest to detangle it, whilst she combed a clawed fin thru Ophelia's mane. It was a calm and soothing bonding activity for them - something the whole family would do sometimes, when snuggled up in the den.
As the D-Nexus would beep though, Ophelia's ears pricked - and she'd glance down to her pouches, set next to the 'nest' - having taken her belt and armor off, so that Cassie wasn't uncomfortable snuggled up against hard metal. Cassie, too, seemed to notice this - glancing over to the pouch as well. "Did someone message you..?" She would ask - to which Ophelia mentioned "Think so." The Spadamon would reach over to the pouch - digging out her D-Nexus to glance to the screen. Huh, it was from Valt - was it one of those surprise training sessions again...? Ophelia would read over the message - before her ears would prick, and her tail tip began to swish excitedly. A couple of juniors? More training?? Hell yeah!
Cassie would glance over to read the messages as well, before giggling a bit. "I guess we better start getting ready, and head out there, huh?" She'd muse - eliciting a laugh and a fistpump from Ophelia - "Hell yeah we are!" - as she hopped up out of the nest - already getting everything together. She would put on her armor piece by piece - rolling her shoulders and stretching her muscles as she did - before fixing her bandana so that it wasn't underneath her breastplate, and putting on her belt - attaching her pouches and sword at her hips. "C'mon, let's get going!" Ophelia would call, already out the room - Cassie would have to call "H-hey, wait up!" with a laugh as she scrambled after!. On the smooth floors of the Sanctum, it was hard for her to find traction to carry herself along, as though it was ice - but she didn't want to scratch up the floor by digging her claws in, either!
The notion of a new couple of sparring partners had Ophelia excited, though - almost enough so that she had considered actually arriving on time! Out of context, that might've sounded somewhat irresponsible of her, to purposefully wait out the 15 minutes... But in truth, Ophelia enjoyed the idea of getting extra training - she enjoyed pushing herself to her limit, which she sometimes felt that Valt was a bit coddling over. She could take it, she liked pushing herself! Yet he always seemed to insist on limiting herself, (which sometimes led to her secretly training on her own, or wrestling with Cassie, elsewhere - until she felt satisfied.) Though... there also was the possibility that these time limits were actually Valt joking around, which Ophelia never did really give much thought, either.
Either way, though, it would be - as Valt indicated - 15 minutes before Ophelia would arrive. She could already pick up Valt and Ryouta's scents, as well as the scents of a couple new individuals - a human and a digimon - as she walked in the front door of the Gym. The duo would make their way to the elevator in the back - Ophelia flashing the badge on her bandana - before getting in... She was never told which floor to go to, though, but... She supposed the best guess would be to start from the 7th floor and work her way up.
Thus, 15 minutes after Valt's message, the elevators would open to reveal the Spadamon and Gomamon-X duo. All the way here though, the notion of having a couple of new sparring buddies, a couple newbies to help train, had excitement building in Ophelia. To the point that, the second the doors opened...
... Ophelia would near-instantly be on Kenny and Skadi, the hyperactive Spadamon practically pouncing on the nearest of the duo! "Mrrrow!" "O-Ophi!" Cassie called - startled to see Ophelia get so ahead of herself like this, and would begin to come over to make sure nobody got hurt. And Ophi said that SHE was bad about bowling people over! "E-Everyone okay here??" She'd call to the trio.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Jun 16, 2019 9:03:20 GMT
Even if their experience levels were different, it seemed not even Valt was safe from being infected by Skadi's radiating optimism, as he expressed a lot of confidence that she wouldn't fail her senpai. However, as soon as Ryouta got out his Digivice and handed it to Valt so the dragon could write something, as per the latter's request. Skadi tried to pull herself off, only for Kenny to restrain her lightly. Whatever the message was, the air cab would land at a giant building near a frozen waterfall, and as he and Skadi got out of the cab and walked into the building he couldn't take his eyes off the waterfall. Sweet Jesus, Adrian was right. Kenny thought, I really am having quite a hard time understanding the Digital World.
As they entered the gym, a warm aura radiated around the area thanks to the crystals. As Ryouta went up to the counter to talk to the giant snowbear Digimon receptionist, Skadi could be seen shaking a bit. Kenny had to ask, "Hey, Skadi? You OK, man?" He said as he turned to his partner.
"I'm OK. I'm just... what if I screw this up, Kenny?" She pondered, as she twiddled her fingers nervously, "Valt said that if I digivolve to Champion today, we'll be able to join KIZNA. It's... what if I don't? What if I let him down? What if I let you down? We won't be able to join KIZNA if I screw this up."
Once again, Kenny had to lean down to talk to Skadi face to face, "You won't screw anything up." He smiled at his partner reassuringly, "I mean, if Valt has a lot of faith in you, I have a lot of faith in you too. Like my dad always told me, no matter what happens today, as long as you give it your all, I'll still be proud of you, no matter what." To punctuate that, he gave his giddy sheep friend a light boop on the nose, making her giggle, "Now how about a big hug for your partner?" He outstretched his arms and gasped a little as the Valaismon threw her arms around him and nuzzled him on the cheek, to which he affectionate ruffled his partner's hair once again. And besides, wasn't that one of the disciples Valt was telling him about? What were they like, he was wondering.
Their brief bit of euphoria was quickly dashed as Ryouta asked for '3 hours of uninterrupted training', and 'Ophelia'. Wait, Valt said that he'd be training Kenny too. And he could barely last 5 seconds against the Rookie-level Arkadimon without keeling over. He held Skadi a little tighter, making her wheeze a little bit, before letting her go and following Ryouta and Valt to the elevator. A sense of wonder hit him again as he watched Ryouta scan his badge on the sensor before entering it with him, although Ryouta looked a little dissatisfied, "Hey, Ryouta, you OK?" He asked him with a genuine sense of concern.
The elevator rumbled up, as he passed through the rooms, before hitting the 7th floor. As he got off, he and Skadi looked around, their dual curiosity flaring up again. Mentally pushing her worries into the back of her mind, left to fester, she turned to face Valt, despite their disparages in level, her fists raised in sheer excitement, "All right, Valt! Bring it on!" She exclaimed. She was about to throw the first punch....
Before the elevator dinged again. Skadi's fists lowered a little bit, and followed Kenny as he walked over to the elevator to greet them. As it opened, he attempted to speak, "Oh, h-"
He couldn't finish that. All of a sudden, he yelped loudly as he saw a blur of blue and white rush directly towards him, before knocking him onto the ground with a loud thump! Skadi gasped too, in shock as her partner fell to the ground. Kenny looked up slowly, to see a furry white lion with blue armour and a bandanna sandwiching him to the floor. Another voice cried out as a small white furry seal Digimon came over, asking if everybody was ok. "I-I'm OK." He muttered, "My butt's just a little sore, is all... Skadi, a little help here?"
"On it!" Skadi cried, coming over to Kenny. She ran over to the lion, attempting to grab onto their fur and tug her off Kenny, lest she try any funny moves and/or try to claw his face off. Meanwhile, attempting to put his hands on the furry white lion's torso, Kenny opted to try and get her off himself.

"Eh? Ah, no it's nothing, just a strange feeling that's all..." Ryouta admitted inside the elevator. "Thing with seventh floor is that it's something of a huge privilege. I don't really know if I can get used to it so to say. It felt almost cheating. Do you get what I mean? I dunno..."
Ryouta leaned on the wall of the lift. "I grew up in... less than economically blessed family. I still remembered I used to have to share my meal with my younger siblings... my father got swindled by his business partner you see, so it ended up with our family bankrupt. I mean, we were moving to Shibuya, sold our house in Nerima, and we have this great, shiny new store and new house, and suddenly it all goes down. Debt left and right, we have to sell our house, sell the store, and we moved to small, cramped apartment... six of us. My father, mother, me, and my three younger siblings. My youngest siblings, twins they are, was still very young you see..."
Ding, the elevator opened. Ryouta the rest came out first before he get out himself.
"well, we're doing a bit better now, but thinking it again, I guess because of this humble beginning I don't really feel right with this privilege... but at the same time if I don't have this sort of privilege, then it's just like saying that I'm not really a leader I guess? Leader after all need certain privilege and something to show off... but even so it felt odd to me... eh well..."
Ophelia's appearance however just snaps him out of it. "No no, just let her be, she's harmless, well, not to enemies though" Ryouta commented. "Just... very excitable."
Valt was the one who took the cue and instead gently lifted Ophelia by her sides and put her down gently to the floor beside him. He pat her head in affectionate manner. "Well, as you can see you two, this is Ophelia, nicknamed Ophi. Over there is her sister Cassie. Ophelia is your senior disciple, so she's like your senpai while I'm your dai-senpai or something. Anyway, Ophi, this is Skadi, this is Kenny, they're your juniors. As senior disciple and junior disciple, please give them pointers in case I'm too busy in case they need it later, alright?"
"So, ahem, with Ophelia here, I guess you guys are ready to see what the seventh floor is like. The seventh floor are mostly the training floor for KIZNA cadres. From weight machines, to treadmills, to striker machines to increase your defense, we have it all. Farther down over there from the lift section is the sparring area. So, thing is, I'll declare our menu for now, Kenny... and Valt will train Ophi and Skadi."
Valt grinned at the two and brings them further in, to where the sparring area is.
Meanwhile, as for Ryouta, he of course leads Kenny closer to the area, but not too close obviously.
"So, first day as usual will be easy enough. We're just going to check how strong are you, how durable you are, what's your stamina and such. Oh but first, before you start training I guess it's best if you wear these..." Ryouta passed over some armors that looked like... martial artist safety armor, but it have more parts than those. Chest parts, legs parts, shoulder guards, arm bracers, and of course the helmet.
"In total it weights about five kilos I think. Good enough for added weight don't you think? We're just going to do things slowly. Let's start with some warmups and stretching. Do you know how to?"
Deeper in, Valt patted both Ophelia and Skadi.
"Skadi, I know you're already up against some other Digimons in spartan training ground, and I heard you also have some good experiences in real battle... However, this time, I want you to fight against someone that's probably as damn tenacious as you are if not more. Ophelia is well suited for this. You guys will spar, but don't go all out.. If any of you guys had enough, just say 'stop'... but I think I'll call the stop first because I feel two of you doesn't know when to stop really..."
Either way, Valt opened the arena border.
"Any projectile that passed the wall will be neutralized, so there won't be any misfire or anything like that. Either way, if you agreed to this, step in. If you got any questions, you may ask it before entering."

Ophelia would glance down to the human underneath her, as her tail swished wildly - eyes wide and eager like a cat who just spotted a brand new teaser toy. She'd sniff the air, noting both his and Skadi's scents, grinning with excitement all the while - "Hey there!" - before Skadi and Valt came along to pull her off, Ophelia seeming to have no problems going along with being lifted up by Valt. She would purr and press her head against Valt's hand as he pat her head - seeming to enjoy the affection, before snapping to attention as the introductions began. Kenny and Skadi... Cassie would be the first to chirp up, the little Gomamon-X calling "It's nice to meet you two!" with a great big smile, and Ophelia similarly would nod - "Hell yeah! I'm excited as fuck to have a couple new sparring partners!" She'd exclaim.
At Ryouta's instruction, Ophelia and Cassie would both follow after Valt alongside Skadi, to what looked to be an arena of sorts. All the while, she would glance around at the surrounding equipment, visibly curious. Some of it seemed as though it would be a bit big for her in this form - seeing as she was 3'11' - but everything else looked interesting! Maybe she should start training here more often, with this big ol' gym up and running... She would turn her attention back to Valt as she was patted though - "Prrp!" - and prick up as he explained the guidelines to their little spar. What in particular got her attention, though, was the idea that Skadi was potentially just as tenacious as she was!
Cassie, personally, felt that this would only end in trouble - not necessarily bad trouble, but Ophelia wasn't going to stop easily if Skadi didn't stop easily either, much like Valt supposed. Thankfully, she would be here to patch them both up once it was time to stop, and either way... "Go get em, Ophi!" She'd chirp to Ophelia - unable to help rooting on her sister regardless. Ophelia would glance to Cassie, and grin - flashing the Gomamon-X a thumbs up before she hopped up into the sparring arena, glancing back at Skadi as she did. She'd be getting herself pumped up, drawing her sword and bouncing on either foot in place, calling "C'mon, let me see watcha got!"
It seemed that Ophelia was willing to have Skadi make the first move.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Jun 18, 2019 11:08:02 GMT
As Ryouta explained his story to Kenny, the latter looked a little downhearted himself. This was the same guy who, from what Kenny had seen so far, got a lot of love at both the Spartan Training Grounds and the Ys Station. And Kenny would practically kill for that sort of respect from anyone that wasn't his dad or Skadi.
But in the present, the presence of the lioness had practically lightened his mood, telling him how she was harmless, and the lioness happily greeting him herself, Skadi loosening her grip and giggling at her partner's embarrassing stance as he blushed. A small white glint gleamed off the bandanna, and the man and sheep's eyes laid onto an all-too-familiar badge, not too dissimilar to Ryouta's own: the KIZNA badge. She was one of them as well. As Valt lifted Ophelia off the ground and pet her on the head, Kenny himself took the opportunity to lift himself off the ground. "Heh, thank God then. Although, my butt does hurt a little from that tackle, I must admit." He chuckled.
Valt would then introduce the two pairs to each other, the lioness and the hairy seal being Ophelia and Cassie, respectively, and, according to the ExVeemon, Kenny and Skadi would be their juniors, a senpai, if you will. As Ophelia and Cassie introduced themselves, Kenny and Skadi opted to do so likewise; Kenny smiled at the beaming Digimon duo back, "Nice to meet you, too, Ophelia and Cassie. My partner here's Skadi, and she's a Valaismon."
Skadi was a little (read: a lot) more enthusiastic, running up close to Ophelia and lifted her hand for a high-five from her new friend. "Me too! Gimme five, Oph!" Kenny just chuckled and shook his head. Ophelia and Cassie were getting their first taste of pure, unfiltered Skadi. But who were these guys supposed to be?
He had to ask Skadi quickly. After all, he felt it might be a little rude to scan them openly without permission. "Hey Skadi, what type of Digimon are Ophelia and Cassie supposed to be? I gotta admit, Ophelia looks really adorable." This time, Hawkeye's words about using certain terms when referring to other Digimon rang in his head, so he made sure to word himself to not come off as rude.
No matter if she was successful in her hive-five or not, the Valaismon would then turn her attention to Kenny in response to his question and comment, gesturing to the fun-sized lioness, "Ophelia's a Spadamon, a Weapon Digimon who wields their trusty blade in combat," then she gestured to the hairy seal, "And Cassie's a Gomamon-X. Their claws are said to be tough enough to break through solid ice." Then she turned back to them, "We met Ryouta and Valt-senpai back at the Spartan Training Grounds. I sparred with Valt-senpai, and then he said I was great, and he made me one of his disciples!" She announced proudly. Being trained by a master who would was awesome enough, but being trained by a member of KIZNA itself? Now that kicked a whole new level of ass.
Maybe it was a little rude to ask about their individual species, but there were like millions of Digimon roaming around, and for someone still getting used to it, it wouldn't hurt to ask for him, still, "Sorry about that, guys. I'm still trying to learn about all the Digimon so far. It just seems that everywhere I go, there's like a new Digimon I have to understand. Not that I mind, of course." He just glanced at Valt and Ryouta with a sly knowing smile. Unless Ryouta and Valt had told Ophelia and Cassie between the first spar and right now, only the 3 boys and 1 girl knew about the full details about what happened, including Skadi's last minute bet, and the subsequent aftermath,
So it was agreed. Valt would train Ophelia and Skadi, while Ryouta would train Kenny. Skadi practically bounded along happily following Valt as she and Ophelia. Kenny meanwhile, followed Ryouta for his own training. But he kept glancing between Ryouta and Skadi, noting about the latter's unconstrained excitement. His mind snapped back to now, however, as Ryouta informed him what the training would be like, and handed him some armour. "Thank you." He said, before taking the armour and putting it on him. It felt a little heavy on him, but hey, he would eat whatever was on his plate. And besides, last time, when he felt Ryouta pick him up to toss him into the lake... well, let's just say he was still a bit surprised Ryouta didn't snap his spine in half by accident..
As for known warm-ups and stretches? Well, Kenny wasn't much of a sportsman (other than going to watch the NRL and rooting for the Sydney Roosters and heckling the Parramatta Eels as a wee lad with his dad), and P.E was hell, but... "Yeah, I do know a few stretches myself." He lifted an arm over his head, and grabbed his elbow with his other, pulling it a little bit further, then holding it for a few seconds, before switching to his other arm and repeating.
As for Skadi, she was no less receptive to Valt's head pats as was Ophelia, letting out an euphoric, eardrum soothingly bleat as she rubbed her head on Valt's palm like a puppy to it's owner. And like Ophelia, she also listened thoroughly to Valt's instructions, because why not, she wanted to impress him, and she wanted her and Kenny in on KIZNA, but then Valt had to mention about how neither side didn't know when to stop.
"Understatement of the freaking millennium, Valt!" Kenny called out. Probably not the best time to call out when you're supposed to be training with someone, but he couldn't resist. Skadi giggled a little at that comment. And the second Valt opened the border, the second Skadi leapt in. Kenny just looked at his partner and smiled, "Good luck, Skadi."
Ophelia seemed to opt to let Skadi attack first. And the first thing that came to mind was the Arkadimon fight and the Cardinaldramon fight. When Skadi charged at Arkadimon, she left herself open to an attack that destabilised her data for a bit. And when she fired that stream of energy at Valt when he wasn't taken off guard yet, he dodged it without a second thought. And she was ready to show everyone here what she learnt so far. Immediately taking in a large gasp of air, she then belted out her first attack: "ECHO BLEAT!!!"
This time, her bleat was a little bit more restrained, as she was sparring rather than trying to kill, unlike with Arkadimon. But it was no less ear-splitting and loud and powerful as her bleat rocked the air and shockwaves flew at Ophelia, aiming to knock her off her feet, and leave her open to attack. Either way, she was excited, and she hoped Ophelia would give her a chance to digivolve to her true Champion form this fight.
Skadi opts to take the first strike with a powerful Echo Bleat aimed at Ophelia, aiming to knock her off her feet.
Echo Bleat: Bleats loudly, sending shockwaves at the enemy, which is capable of causing damage and/or, disorientation, including knocking them over on their feet. Flying Digimon may be affected by screwing up their flap patterns from the disorientation, knocking them onto the ground and leaving them open to attack. This latter effect can also affect Champions (albeit not as much), but not Ultimate and above. Does not incur friendly fire. (2 post cooldown).
COOLDOWNS: Echo Bleat: 0/2

"If you need a tip," Ryouta tried to help "you should just ask the Digimon what are they so to say. Just treat them like any foreigner you met. Like 'excuse me but what species are you specifically? I'm new at this'. If they take offense at that then they're just too prideful. 90% friendlies would answer you happily. Or you can ask your partner discreetly when the conversation is done and you're not in their direct presence."
Valt grinned somewhat when Kenny retorted that Skadi's hardheadness was some understatement of the century. Regardless, he was quite happy to see that his disciples are getting to know each other. Hmmm, perhaps he could make them work together sometimes? But first, indeed, they have to familiarize one another with how they fight. Skadi have a great balance between trick and power... while Ophelia have that tenacity and versatility of attacks. So he guess both of them learning new tricks from the other one would do great. Valt watched as the spar unfold for the meantime. Ophelia seem to take the observing role... which probably... a wise move, but not quite so wise considering Valt did that to Skadi too... So she's more than ready.
And ready she is indeed. Valt winced as he heard the bleat. That's tough for draconic Digimon like him whose senses are sharpened. He wondered how Ophelia fared.
Meanwhile, as for Ryouta, once Kenny is done with his warmups and stretching, he would start with the lesson.
"So, in Digital World, there are several basic skills you needed. First, you need a lot of stamina, this is a must. Humans in human-Digimon partnership often mistaken that the human only need to hang on the back and do nothing but mental support. This is wrong. You can buy cards to support your mons and you can do something... but in turn, you're often likely targeted by your opponent. This is why you have to run a lot, run, take cover, and make sure they can't hit you.
By that nature, the second thing you need is speed. I'm not telling you to be Speedy Gonzales, no. I'm telling you however, that you need to be fast, and responsive. You need to run a lot, and that's why your legs will be your greatest asset. Reaction speed is also this. Need the right card? You got to know what you want for what situation.
Third thing you need is durability. In case your Digimon is too preoccupied in something, or you got attacked and whatnot, you need to be able to survive. I'm not telling you to tank lasers or something, but scraping with grounds, or getting hurt in process because impact of Digimon's attack is possible... also, arms is needed for survival too. To hang on ledges in case of danger, or to scale walls and climb trees in danger... you'll need those.
Martial arts are a bit "meh" over here. It's not quite necessary as cool as it is. If you want I'll teach you, but that's low priority at the moment. I'll instead teach you how to take fall from martial arts tosses so you can get away with minimum amount of pain.
Mmmmm, what else... I guess we'll learn how to do military crawl, I guess... rest of the skills are pretty much just camping and survival 101."

It seemed that Skadi's enthusiasm was well recieved by Ophelia, the little lioness being eager to match it as she excitedly gave Skadi a high five - exclaiming a boisterous "Hell yeah!" in response. Her tail was swishing, ears perked, and her eyes were peering attentively to Kenny and Skadi as she sized the duo up - more than ready to see all that her two new sparring/training buddies had to offer. Cassie, in watching this, couldn't help but giggle some; that was Ophelia for ya, and she couldn't help but appreciate Skadi's energeticness just as much as Ophelia did! Kenny's question as to what Ophelia and Cassie were, as well as the comment about Ophelia being adorable, didn't pass by unnoticed though. Ophelia's keen ears pricked and twitched in Kenny and Skadi's direction - and at the comment of being called adorable, she couldn't help but blink - thinking it over for a second. She was adorable? Ophelia didn't have any issue at being called adorable, but at the same time, she wasn't sure what to think of it! Was she cute? She thought she was more cool than cute, being the tough lil lioness that she was - but then again, you could be both cute and cool, right? ... Okay, adorable and cool both sounded right. She'll be both! Either way though, with Skadi's descriptions of them both, and the duo explaining how they met Ryouta and Valt, Ophelia would nod. "I met Ryouta and Valt while I was coming down from the mountains, after I left home! I ran into them in the sparring grounds outside of Ys, before it really started becoming a big ol' city, and we ended up sparring together!" She would add - and Cassie would chirp in "I came down here after Ophi came home to visit, and before she went on a big ol' mission to find a Demon Lord in the mountains, I came with her!"Kenny's apology would make Cassie giggle in a little - "It's okay, but it's like Ryou said - You can just ask us directly! We don't mind talking 'bout it!" She'd chip to Kenny - adding "We'd be more than happy to talk about the different kinds of digimon we know, too! Like our mom Gertrude - she's a big ol' Blizzarmon, our dad Callus is a Panjyamon, and our brother Laertes is a Strabimon!"Then would come the fight, though. Ophelia would have tried to steel herself for whatever Skadi's incoming attack might be - but an attack like Echo Bleat wasn't something she expected! The sudden blast of sonic energy would indeed knock Ophelia onto her rear - the lioness' ears left ringing from her sensitive senses being over whelmed by the sheer volume of the attack. However, she otherwise didn't seem to be all that disoriented, even with her ringing ears - her tenacity and willpower weren't about to disappoint, and if Skadi was about to start strong, then she would too! In the aftermath of the attack, Ophelia would quickly try to roll back up onto her feet and charge forward - brandishing her Blue Blade! Ice would form along the metal of the blade, both reinforcing it and giving it a chilled razor-sharp edge. She would swing the sword horizontally at Skadi, giving a vigor-filled battlecry as she did "HRAAAAH!" However, what Skadi might not expect, was a little trick that Valt himself had taught her! At the last second, the blade would suddenly extend with more ice - what looked to be a standard attack was actually her Ice Saber! Ophelia was hoping that the extra reach of this attack of hers would throw off the Valaismon, and make her underestimate the dodge required to avoid this move!
- Ophelia is struck dead-on by Echo Bleat, and is knocked over as a result! However, though her ears might be ringing, her tenacity lets her power through being disoriented! - In retaliation, Ophelia tries to get up, and charge in with a surprise Ice Saber move! - Tempo goes up by 1 stack, and will start affecting her moves next turn. Move(s) Used:[ATTACK] Ice Saber - With a battlecry, Ophelia's blade enlarges into a long blade of ice, and she leaps into a flurry of jabs and slashes at the foe! Unarmed Variant: Instead of slashing, Ophelia leaps forward to bite and slash at the foe with frozen claws and fangs - battlecry still included. [1 Turn Cooldown] Passives:[PASSIVE] Prominence Native: Having particularly thick and fluffy fur, and having been raised in the coldest parts of Prominence, Ophelia has increased durability against ice/cold-based attacks.
[PASSIVE; RAM] Tempo: Ophelia is a scrapper who prefers getting up close and personal - and the more she fights, the easier it gets for her as she gets into the rhythm of it. For each turn that she makes a direct melee attack, she gains 1 stack of Tempo at the end of that turn - and for each turn that she doesn't make a melee attack, she loses 1 stack of Tempo at the end. She gets a 8% attack and accuracy increase for each stack she gets, capping at 40% attack and accuracy at 5 stacks.
[PASSIVE; RAM GIGA] Lionheart: Ophelia is stubborn, willful, and passionate - especially in the heat of battle. Those who try to influence her mind or emotions find it difficult to overcome this side of her - and more often than not, she powers thru from sheer will, and the sheer anger at someone trying to control her like such. As a result, she is highly resistant - if not outright immune - to effects that influence her mind, emotions, or disposition, such as mind control, taunts, rage, fear, or pacification- unless she allows another digimon to influence her in this way. Effects
Tempo - 1 of 5 Stacks; 8% increase to Attack and Accuracy as of next turn! Cooldowns:Ice Saber - 0/1
