Valt had noted that Skadi had been doing well, but told him of at a potential tag-team battle with her and Ophelia working together. Surely 2 Champions on one would feel a little unfair to the average bystander, even for an expert like Valt, but a cheeky grin lining his face heavily hinted at a potential surprise waiting for them. That wasn't lost on Kenny, but it didn't stop him from thanking Valt and Ryouta for being willing to train them, flustering the Champion level dragon, and telling him that it was the appreciation was more than worth it, "Heh, it's nothing, man." Kenny smiled and shrugged, "Honestly, it's a good thing that you guys came along and be willing to help us. In fact, I admit I was a little nervous and shy about talking to you guys at first. And yet, Skadi just up and wanted to talk to you, and I willingly went along with it. She's like a moth to flame."
During the battle, the small buzz in his D-3, the burst of energy, and Kenny's excitement didn't seem to be lost on Valt himself, who asked him what caused evolution in a Digimon, Quickly, Kenny calmed down, but he still felt his heart pounding like mad, "Uh... emotion?" He answered. The 2 Digimon he did witness digivolve in front of his eyes was the animalistic Arkadimon, and Skadi herself, both going from In-Training and Rookie, and both of them seemed to be filled with that.
To which, Valt responded that no matter the level a Digimon was, emotions did indeed play a huge role in the digivolution of a Digimon, and as the battle progressed, Kenny could still feel all the emotions buzzing in his head, and the D-3 buzzing like no tomorrow. Instinctively, he pulled the D-3 out, and on it was a dim but glowing white screen, glowing brighter himself. He just gawped. It felt a little familiar to him, "Wait, that's the same thing that happened when Skadi digivolved to Weatherdramon for the first time, but my D-3 just feels a little more intense now." But it was too hard for him to take his eyes off Skadi and Ophelia's battle. It felt intense just watching the 2 go at it, even from a safe distance.
Skadi hadn't felt this natural flow of energy inside of her for a long while now. It felt oddly familiar, akin to the time she digivolved from her teensy, defenceless Mallimon form to her capable, and energetic Valaismon form. It was practically radiating through her at this point, especially with that powerful stomp summoning the pillar, as she jumped back to watch the magic happen, and to ready herself for Ophelia's next strike. She watched as Ophelia jumped into the air to dodge the spire, and created a pair of bucklers on her arms to break it. The sheep Digimon did give a small smirk as the spire broke into a usable platform and landed on it, but not before showering Ophelia with the shards. "Clever girl." She could only say to the Champion level.
Ophelia would then jump from the pillar to attack Skadi with a powerful kick, just as (what remained of) the pillar retracted into the ground once again the second she leapt off. Skadi readied herself with another Echo Bleat to try and knock her off course, but before she could get a single word out, Ophelia kicked her cleanly across the chest, sending her flying once again, and tumbling across the floor.
Maybe that wasn't one of Skadi's best ideas.
She groaned a little in pain from the impact, and was struggling to get up. She couldn't just quit now. She proposed she wouldn't let Valt down, she wouldn't let Kenny down, she'd let nobody down. And yet, she still felt that burst of energy flowing through her. She didn't want to quit now. She had to keep going.
Kenny winced a little as Skadi was kicked back. That really had to hurt. And as he noticed Skadi groan in pain. He called out to his poor partner as he clutched his D-3 tightly, "Skadi! Don't give up just yet! I know you can win!" All the while, the D-3 buzzed even louder than before, and the screen was now glowing a bright blinding white. And good lord, he could feel the buzz now.
It was then that Skadi had managed to finally pull herself up again, and turned her head to her partner, "Don't worry, pal. I wasn't thinking of doing that just yet. In fact, I'm just getting started." She then turned back to Ophelia, feeling the energy spread throughout all her body, flowing freely. "So, you wanna see my next stage, huh? I think you might be in for a surprise." She chuckled. And this time, instead of her horns glowing, her enitre body started to glow white, as the D-3 was now buzzing louder than ever, and the screen was practically shining, and then, a flow of data shot out of the Digivice, and Kenny could only watch as it happened, as his partner was engulfed by a bright shining light, not too dissimilar to last time Skadi digivolved to her next form for the first time.
"Valaismon, digivolve to..." Once again, her body grew in size, but where the jump from Mallimon to Valaismon basically consisted of a few inches more, this time, Skadi had practically ballooned in size as she bended over to accommodate her new form. Her hands transformed into a new pair of strong front hooves, and her back ones had similarly jumped in strength. A pair of big silver anklets formed on her ankles as the woolly collars disappeared, and her tiny horns grew large in size, spanning from her neck, and hanging to her back. Her ears still remained black, but a small bell necklace formed onto her neck, and her bangs still covered her eyes, but a confident smirk was now adorning her face.
As the light dispersed again, her new form was practically looking at Ophelia, with a face that practically screamed 'bring it'. With that, she let out another triumphant bleat like before, before she announced her new forms name, "CANANDENMON!!!" With her second wind, she scraped the floor with one of her front hooves.
Kenny had watched the digivolution with sheer awe this time. And unlike last time, he was not withering in pain courtesy of a Digimon. He could witness it all in real time without having to moan in pain, or feel his world blanking out. He loudly slammed his open hands on the glass with excitement, "SKADI YOU DID IT! YOU DID IT! YOU REACHED YOUR CHAMPION FORM! OH SWEET JESUS CHRIST I'M SO HAPPY!" He yelled excitedly, before attempting to throw his arms over Valt for a hug. There was no denying the excitement he had. With Skadi's digivolution meant that Valt could now go and invite the duo to join KIZNA. Although probably throwing his arms around a giant dragon that could snap his spine in two with just one hand probably wasn't a good idea.
Over in the arena, Skadi just chuckled proudly as she looked at them again, "No, Kenny. We did it. Thank you." She grinned at them, before she turned to Ophelia. With a sly grin, she bleated loudly again, but instead of shockwaves coming out, Skadi felt a lot of invigoration inside of her, and a newfound feeling of power inside of her. And it sounded so confident too. She had a lot to be proud of, and she was willing to show it.
With the bleat finished, she started charging at Ophelia at high speeds, and as soon as she got close, she would try to pounce on Ophelia to knock her down with a normal headbutt. Now the fight was really on, and if Ophelia thought she saw everything Skadi had to offer, she would have to think again.
Skadi gets kicked onto the floor, but an encouraging cheer from Kenny has finally allowed her to finally digivolve to Canandenmon for the first time. She lets out a confident Battlecry to increase her attack and speed, before charging in for a basic headbutt attack.
Battlecry: Skadi bleats loudly and proudly, but this time around, instead of causing damage, her bleats are very invigorating, giving herself and up to 2 allies within earshot 30% more attack and 10% more speed for the next 3 posts. Skadi can select which 2 allies will get the boost if there is more than 3. (3 post cooldown)
BUFF/NERF COUNTER: Battlecry (30% Atk+, 10% Spd+): 0/3

"Partnership... it's made by the will of Digital World in some strange way... you guys are partnered in way that... let's say, compliment one another. See, you're shy, and less outgoing and then you're partnered with Skadi who is the reverse and it develops you to what you feel is better, right? Skadi benefits in this partnership too in a sense she would mature and know when is the time to chill. I'm no different honestly."
Valt took a time to write what he saw then return back to Kenny. "...Aniki wasn't so chill in the past. He's... friendly sure, but there are part of him that is so angry at the world, you see... angry for how unfair it is for the strong to use their power to make themselves stronger but the weak weaker under their oppression, angry at how people uses their strength to make other miserable... he wanted that to stop, he saw those suffering people as himself. And in midst of it all, he got chosen, and that partner was... me.
I was not a strong Digimon by any means. In fact, I was so green, no pun intended. I was scared of the world, scared of uncertainty, yet I want to be there for my dearest partner. I guess our partnership made me to be braver, and Aniki to be calmer in his approach. That's why don't think that you're only accepting things from Skadi, but also remember that you are also shaping her to be better."
-----------------
Hmmm, the fight is going to some strange paces. Skadi still haven't caught up with it yet? He guess he better get ready in some way or another then. Valt signed to Ryouta who nodded at him. It's seem there's no need of extra communication between the two. They already know what the other want.
Signing however made Valt nearly missed out the attraction of the day. Look at Skadi evolving! He quickly stopped Kenny from hugging him though. "Ay, no, I don't like hugs, sorry Kenny. But yeah, you're doing great, hmn? Ophi! Two exchange, then take five minutes break... after that you're up against something stronger, two of you."
That's all it needs, apparently... and...
"Say, do you want to just... train a bit closer?" Ryouta asked as he approached Kenny. "Maybe that way you can be more motivated to train and less unfocused on this, heh."

Ophelia would grin confidently at Skadi's remark of 'Clever girl'; even though this form of hers was a little less beastial and more humanlike, she still had the same look of an eager wild beast in her eyes and grin that she did as a Spadamon. And for a moment, that same thrill of battle made her eagerness grow as she landed the kick on Skadi - sending her tumbling across the arena. Though, as she would land on her feet; watching as Skadi would groan in pain and struggle to get up made her hesitate briefly - her protective instincts starting to kick in just a hair. She didn't like the idea of beating up on a rookie in Champion stage any further than she had to - as fun as the fight might be, it didn't feel right to her; even when she's generally more than ready to spar with those stronger than herself. With that in mind though, the taller Himamon would momentarily stop in her tracks; simply readying herself as she waited to see what would happen next. And indeed, many things would happen as she watched; hearing as Kenny would call encouragement to Skadi, and Skadi cockily responding in kind as she'd manage to get to her feet. The telltale signs of an evolution were there - and as Skadi would chuckle to her, Ophelia would grin widely. "Hell yeah, show me what you got!" She'd encourage the Valaismon as the familiar warm glow of digivolution began to overtake her body - Ophelia's excitement once more firing up brighter than ever, at the idea of both of them being able to fight on equal grounds now. Icy mist even began to slowly leak out of the holes in the back of her gauntlets, as though belying her excitement; watching as Skadi's form would change in shape, and grow in size... ... In fact, Skadi became quite large, as she would finally finish her transformation into Canadenmon; the massive ramlike digimon even giving Ophelia pause, as she registered their difference in size! She wasn't about to get cold feet (heh) anytime soon, though; quietly nodding in acknowledgement to Valt's instructions. As Skadi would let out a loud bleat - one that sounded, and felt, different from Echo Bleat - Ophelia was quick to recognize the battlecry for what it was; unable to help an excited grin in hearing it. Even if she didn't gain any strength from it necessarily, it left her feeling equally eager to meet Skadi halfway in the fight! And in meeting Skadi halfway, Ophelia would take in a deep breath, and responded with a battleroar of her own, charging forward! "HROAAAAAAAAHHHH!"Ophelia, in all of her stubbornness and tenacity, would meet even Skadi's headbutt head-on; stopping mid-charge to stand her ground, and to attempt to catch the massive Canandenmon by the horns! The gambit, perhaps, didn't go quite as she would've hoped (Or, perhaps, she saw this coming?) - feeling the force of the large digimon slamming against her torso as her feet skidded back across the training field; knocking the breath out of her momentarily. "Ghfff-..!" Ophelia wasn't about to stop easily though; and otherwise was able to maintain her grip on the Canandenmon's horns for long enough to try and shove Skadi back, to give herself a chance to draw her Blue Blade. "How about I show you how we fight Champion style?!" Ophelia would remark to Skadi as she began an overhead swing. At first, it seemed like nothing special, but... ... then the blade, much like with Ice Saber before, grew in size. But this one grew much larger, much more impressive; the blade being almost her size, in fact, as Ophelia reached the apex of her downwards swing! "GRRRRROOOAAAAAHH!" Ophelia would roar as she swung the Shatterstrike down at Skadi; the strike, if it hit, would seem to shear into Skadi's thick wooly coat with ease. However, if the strike missed, it would seem to even cut into the ground beneath them - leaving a gash in the floor in its wake. Cassie, though, would be just as excited as Kenny was in seeing Skadi digivolve! "She did it! She did it!" The little Gomamon-X would excitedly exclaim - bouncing over to Kenny in an attempt to hug him, as well! However; if the hug met its mark, Kenny would quickly realize that even sweet little Cassie had more strength than her little body realized - if he wasn't careful in meeting her hug, he'd be toppled over completely, just like what happened with him and Ophelia before! "She's so big, and fluffy, and strong looking!" Cassie would begin to ramble in her energy; glancing between everyone with large and gleeful smiles. "I can't wait to see what I'll look like, when I digivolve and catch up to Ophi and Skadi, too!"
- As Skadi charges in a headbutt, Ophelia stands her ground and attempts to catch her by the horns! She does still take some damage, though - being unable to stop Skadi's charge completely! - However, Ophelia is able to maintain grip - and shoves back Skadi, whilst swinging at her with a spirited Shatterstrike! - Tempo reaches 3 stacks Move Used:[ATTACK] Shatterstrike: Enlarging her Blue Blade to an extraordinary size and swinging it overhead with a ferocious roar, Ophelia brings it down upon the foe with surprising force! With the sheer size and ferocity of the attack, though it deals normal damage, it otherwise breaks thru barrier, reflect, and other effects that would increase the enemy's defense. Unarmed Variant: Ophelia brings her fists together, and with a roar, smashes them down into the foe, to the same effect. [3 Turn Cooldown] Passives:[PASSIVE] Prominence Native: Having been raised in the coldest parts of Prominence, Ophelia has increased durability against conditions of extreme cold, as well as ice/cold-based attacks.
[PASSIVE; RAM] Tempo: Ophelia is a scrapper who prefers getting up close and personal - and the more she fights, the easier it gets for her as she gets into the rhythm of it. For each turn that she makes a direct melee attack, she gains 1 stack of Tempo at the end of that turn - and for each turn that she doesn't make a melee attack, she loses 1 stack of Tempo at the end. She gets a 8% attack and accuracy increase for each stack she gets, capping at 40% attack and accuracy at 5 stacks.
[PASSIVE; RAM GIGA] Lionheart: Ophelia is stubborn, willful, and passionate - especially in the heat of battle. Those who try to influence her mind or emotions find it difficult to overcome this side of her - and more often than not, she powers thru from sheer will, and the sheer anger at someone trying to control her like such. As a result, she is highly resistant - if not outright immune - to effects that influence her mind, emotions, or disposition, such as mind control, taunts, rage, fear, or pacification- unless she allows another digimon to influence her in this way. Effects:Tempo - 3 of 5 stacks; 16% increase to Attack and Accuracy this turn, 24% next turn. Cooldowns:Force of Will - 2/2; Up Next Turn! Ice Buckler - 1/3 Shatterstrike - 0/3

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Jul 16, 2019 10:21:49 GMT
Kenny felt himself thinking for a moment as Valt told him about the nature of partnerships, Ryouta's anger at the nature of the world and the blatant power abuse running rampant, how both sides had benefited from the relationship in their own way, and that he and his own partner in turn would benefit each other. And just as well, because Valt made a damn good point about all that. If he never met Skadi on that faithful day at the Hachiko Statue, he'd probably remain the same as before, a lonely young man who would rather keep to himself than interact with others outside the ones he trusted already, and probably remain the same socially awkward man for the rest of his life. He just nodded, but he really didn't need to say anything; those words practically hit him hard like a ton of bricks.
During his elation, Kenny failed to notice that Valt and Ryouta were engaging in silent communication. And when Valt caught him trying to hug him, he managed to get him away, telling him he just didn't like it. Luckily for him, Kenny was quite good at taking 'no' for an answer, as he pulled back as soon as he could, "Oh, sorry Valt, just got a little overexcited there." He laughed, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. He did blush a little as he complimented him, "Aw, it's nothing, man. Just never felt this level of excitement before." He wasn't going to up and admit to anyone within range, but it did take his mind away from his aching arms.
What he didn't really find out that easily was that Cassie was bounding towards him, her own elated cheers doubling as the only warning that she was approaching him at high speed. He turned around, only to see the Gomamon X leaping up to him and throwing her arms/flippers (whatever you want to call them) around him. He grunted a slightly painful "Oof." as her tackle hug practically knocked him to the ground again, his own bum being the only thing to break the fall again.
He could just not catch a break today.
Sandwiched between Cassie and the floor, he just smiled and nodded as she gushed over Skadi's Champion form, while mentally, he was just thanking his lucky stars that the Gomamon X also didn't manage to snap his spine like a rotten twig. He just wrapped his arms around the Gomamon X, as she started to go on about her own digivolution, "Yeah, I'm sure you'll be great too, Cassie." He chuckled, as he opted to run his fingers gently through the Gomamon X's fur. Then he heard Ryouta ask him to train a little bit closer. Well, it would be a little hard to when a happy-go-lucky fluffy seal who's own soft fur put teddy bears' to shame, but weighted about the size of a small boulder was sitting on top of you. "Sure, that would be a good idea, but mind taking Cassie off me first? She's kinda glued me to the floor." He joked.
Skadi had not felt this level of energy flow through her in a long time, not even Weatherdramon could give even half of that. However, while Weatherdramon possessed an air of tranquillity to her, Canandenmon was practically Skadi on steroids; much bigger, stronger, and wilder, about the size of a large horse. Both fighters had charged towards each others at high speeds, but while Ophelia had stopped in her tracks, Skadi had kept rushing forward, ready to plow through Ophelia. However, what she failed to notice was that Ophelia wasn't just going to stand there and take it willy-nilly.
In fact, she actually managed to grab the monster ram's horns. That still didn't stop Skadi that easily, as she tried to push Ophelia back, slowly. No matter if she was successful on that front or not, Ophelia had managed to shove her back, and Skadi could feel that shove. In response, Skadi kept her feet firmly on the ground, and while that wasn't enough to knock her down to the ground entirely, she was pushed back a fair few. Feeling the grip relax off her horns, she lifted her head up, as Ophelia pulled out her blade while making a quite confident remark. Skadi could only grin in response. If it was a fight Ophelia wanted, then it was a fight Ophelia was damn well going to get.
With a loud and proud battlecry, Ophelia would swing her blade once again, it's size growing much larger, as she swung it downwards. It was then Skadi would attempt to run, turning to the side and starting to dash off, but not before the blade proceeded to cleave through her backside, and cut through her massive wool like a knife through butter. And it hurt. Ophelia could easily see Skadi stumbling as the Champion level got hit, her movement slowing down slightly, and herself stumbling a bit as she steered herself, but she did manage to recover in time, if her movements were anything to go by. And she still wasn't going to stop.
Instead, as she made it to the back of Ophelia, she proceeded to charge again, all while calling out "RAMPAGING CHARGE!!!" as her new horms glowed a brilliant white. With the amplified speed and strength from her battlecry, if this made contact, Ophelia would probably feeling it for a week. Skadi was looking to quickly rectify her predictability, and catch Ophelia off guard.
Skadi is hit by Shatterstrike, and takes full damage. In response, Skadi goes behind Ophelia this time and uses Rampaging Charge in order to hit her. If hit, this attack will do 40% more damage (thanks to the ability and buffs in question).
Rampaging Charge: Skadi's horns glow bright white and she charges at the opponent. She can choose to headbutt them or gore them or toss them upon contact. Essentially, it's a more powerful version of Ramming Headbutt, and can easily send other Champions flying on contact. Taking the law of physics into consideration, any damage boost outside of any standard attack buffs is equal to any speed boosts Skadi has gotten, so a 10% speed boost will also boost this attack by 10%, a 20% speed boost also boosts this attack by 20% and so on. (1 post cooldown)
BUFF/NERF COUNTER: Battlecry (30% Atk+, 10% Spd+): 1/3
RELEVANT PASSIVES: Tough Hooves (Passive): Skadi can run across craggy terrain, icy terrain or hot terrain without taking any damage. She can also walk/run on ice without slipping, and climb crags with ease. This also nullifies the effects of any attacks that involve scattering spikes or other damaging terrain onto the ground (damage, poison, ect). However, this does not stop other effects from occurring from those attacks (those being explosions, pitfall traps, net traps, and the like)
Woolly Coat (Passive): Her wool coat gives her sheer bulk, and warmth rolled up into one package, which allows her to reduce all physical attacks and Ice attacks by 30%. However, this also increases all damage from Fire attacks by 20%.
COOLDOWN: Rampaging Charge: 0/1

Valt watched as the battle unfold. Something in him told him that Skadi's new form pretty much gonna be a tough fight for Ophelia. However, she took a lot of damage already... would she still able to keep this up? He jotted something down on his notes while watching the battle. So far, what he feel is:
There's no need for Ophelia to change anything so far, she's doing great with her passives... but he have to remind her to be careful. Having that sort of passive means she's prone to more reckless assault. He probably will suggest her to also have some evasion measure to prevent any lockdown...
Skadi meanwhile need to alter her strategy a bit. She need to be less predictable and have more array of movesets.... A bit of her moves should be buffed up more... but he'll first ask what she wanted to cover in her role. Being all over the place is not good after all. Weatherdramon was a perfect jack of all trades, but Valaismon does not have that sort of leeway on number of attacks, thus it's important to keep that DPS up somehow, or have a boost or two. He also need to fix her tendency to call out the name of her attacks.
Then again, it's only because the opponent is Ophi why this happened to begin with after all. He'd have tons of difficulty with those speed debuff floof. It's solid, just need a bit of fine tuning for sure. However, he will not tell her that it's a must to change it. She need to find the moves she's comfortable with. There's no use if someone forces you into a role you're not going to like... and that's what he's going to teach.
"Ah, you got knocked over huh..." Ryouta commented at Kenny. "Sorry, um, Cassie was it? Lemme lift you up a bit kaaay? Excuse me." Ryouta gently lifted Cassie off Kenny. "So young lady, you looks like a strong Digimon yourself!"
"Gomamons might not look like it, but in turn for not being able to move fast in land, they're pretty sturdy and strong you know," Valt commented.
"Huh, interesting. Well, sorry for that, Cassie," Ryouta gently lowered her back to the floor. "Anyway, Kenny, ready for sit ups? Or maybe you want to massage the smarting first? Either way, just tell me when you're ready."
Now, as for Valt... "OPHI, ONE MORE ATTACK EXCHANGE AND TAKE A BREAK, YOU TOO, SKADI! "
...he honestly doesn't want them to burn out themselves.

As Skadi would stumble away from the blade upon being struck, the tail-end of the Shatterstrike would drag along the floor briefly - leaving a shallow gash in the ground in its wake. The ice would melt away and shatter, though, once the attack properly included; leaving the Blue Blade in its proper small size once more. In fact, it actually became quite apparent that in this form, that Ophelia's Blue Blade looked less like a proper sword in her Himamon form, and more like a tanto or shortsword! This didn't seem to bother her though, brandishing it all the same despite its size; likely due to her ability to use it as the 'core' of a larger ice blade, like with Ice Saber or Shatterstrike. Regardless though, this was not the focus of the fight. Ophelia would watch keenly as Skadi would begin circling around behind her - slowly turning around in place, not about to let the Canandenmon attack her from behind quite that easily. Even though Ophelia was quite ready for whatever Skadi had to dish out, though... Skadi's Rampaging Charge attack - at this close of a range, and with the amplified speed - was going to hurt. Ophelia would try to dart aside - much like she did with Skadi's headbutt attack as a Valaismon - but one of the horns would still catch her shoulder and side! The strike would draw a sharp grunt out of Ophelia - "GHACK!" - and send her tumbling across the training ground - slamming into the barrier that made up the perimeter of it. Ophelia's shoulder and the side of her ribs flared with pain, especially as she attempted to get up - slowly staggering to her feet. Between the damage that had been building up over the fight, and this particularly rough attack, she was huffing - a visible dent in her armor from where Skadi had impacted - yet her tenacity kept her going, despite it. She wouldn't act immediately - listening to Valt's call for one more exchange before they'd stop - before quietly nodding. "Guess I'll have to make this last one a big attack, huh...?" She'd murmur to herself. Frankly, her moves weren't the biggest - they were primarily based around not letting people lock her down mid-fight, and being able to stand up to big moves. But, that didn't mean that she didn't have a decent attack up her sleeve... Brandishing her Blue Blade in both hands, despite her aching shoulder, ice would once more build up around the blade; bringing the sword up to the size of a proper longsword for a digimon of her stature. "Now it's my turn!" Ophelia would call with a wide grin, even if she was still huffing a little thru her teeth; darting in Skadi's direction to lay down a few heavy slashes - a wide horizontal slash, followed up by a quick upwards diagonal slash, and then finishing with another downwards slash, shouting as she did. "HAAH!" It seemed that she was attempting to put her all into this final attack to punctuate things before the spar would end. Cassie, meanwhilst, squeaked in surprise as Kenny would topple over - it seems that she didn't quite expect him to tumble over from her hug, either! She thought that she was being good about her strength this time - but she guessed that she still got a bit too excited, seeing as she was now atop Kenny, the poor boy likely having an achy rear from the tumble. Still, it seemed that Kenny wasn't too torn up - smiling and nodding along with her excitement as she nuzzled and rambled to him. She'd make a soft, content hum as he'd embrace her and ruffle her fur - pressing her head against his hand at the touch as she made indistinct but audibly pleased murmurs. Next though, would be Ryouta - who would approach to lift Cassie up. She'd squeak a bit in faint surprise - it seemed that she was focused more on Kenny's petting than she was Ryouta's words - but was otherwise untroubled, giggling happily as she nuzzled the larger boy, too! "Ehehehe, yeaaaaah~" She'd giggle and nod in confirmation in response to Ryouta's comment about her being strong, "Dad and Mom say that I'm probably physically the strongest out of me and my siblings, though Ophi and Lae are both better at fighting than I am. I prefer just healing people, and helping out where I can." She'd muse out loud. Though, with that thought in mind, she would also glance in Kenny's direction and add "They also say that I tend to kinda forget my own strength, though... I'm sorry for knocking you over, Kenny! I could heal you before you go training with Ryouta, if you'd like? Maybe when Ophi and Skadi are done, so that I can heal all three of you at once?" She did seem sheepish over having accidentally knocked Kenny over before, and was more than happy to offer to make up for it - bouncing up to his side once Ryouta put her down, and nuzzling against Kenny's leg affectionately.
- Ophelia is struck in the side/shoulder by Rampaging Charge, sending her tumbling into a wall and leaving her smarting. - However, with her tenacity, she still gets back up and strikes at Skadi one last time with Frozen Cleave! - Tempo has reached 4 stacks - (though it likely doesn't matter too much) Move Used:[ATTACK] Frozen Cleave: Enhancing her Blue Blade with ice to make it more fitting as a standard sword, Ophelia darts in with a battlecry and slashes down the foe with ferocity! Unarmed Variant: With gauntlets of ice, Ophelia bashes her foe with her fists! [1 Turn Cooldown] Passives:[PASSIVE] Prominence Native: Having been raised in the coldest parts of Prominence, Ophelia has increased durability against conditions of extreme cold, as well as ice/cold-based attacks.
As expected, Kenny's bum felt pretty sore from Cassie's unintentionally painful tackle hug, and he did blush a little bit as Ryouta commented on Kenny's right state, "Yeah, and my butt hurts a bit now. At least it's taking my mind off the aching in my arms." He lightly joked. Just a few moments later, he would feel the weight on his chest dissipate as he watched Ryouta take the fuzzy sea lion off him, and Cassie happily nuzzling him in response, both lightly bantering about the Gomamon X's sheer natural strength. It was then Valt commented about the Gomamon's strength, "Understatement of the freaking millennium." He just joked again, as he started to pull himself up from the floor, his rear aching all the while, while listening to Cassie muse about her own strength; for a Rookie level, he was pretty surprised that she had (what felt like) ungodly strength for such a small creature.
Ryouta would then ask him if he was ready to start training again, as Kenny rubbed his sore buttocks with one hand and picked up his D-3 with the other before pocketing it. "Maybe in a minute, just maybe a little help with my butt first." He then turned to Cassie, who apologised for accidentally knocking him over and offering to heal him along with Skadi and Ophelia when they were done, and, before he could react, felt the sea lioness nuzzle his leg like a puppy to it's master. Once again, Kenny would find himself attempting to pet the creature instinctively. "It's OK, Cassie. Just... do warn me next time before you up and hug me for now on OK?" He paused for a moment to consider Cassie's offer before he turned to Valt calling out to both Ophelia and Skadi, telling them to pull off one last attack before calling it quits. He just looked back to Cassie in turn, "And, well, yeah, I could go with a bit of healing. My arms still hurt a bit too, now that I think about it."
As it was becoming apparent, Canandenmon was essentially, if you boiled her down to her most basic components, 'Skadi, but more of a loose cannon than before'. She bleated slightly in elation as Ophelia was knocked over, before steering back to her opponent and stopping in place, watching her try and pull herself up, and the dent she left in the lioness' armour. "Not bad. Not bad at all." She complimented herself, looking at the fruits of her labour. However, her ears twitched as Valt called out to them. And she knew she was going to put her all into her final attack.
Skadi could only smirk as Opehia's sword grew once again, and the icy lioness charged ahead with her giant icy sword as well. And Skadi was going to do something pretty ballsy for her final attack. As Ophelia ran towards her, she jumped back to avoid the horizontal slash, before being taken offguard by the diagonal slash-come-uppercut, slightly recovering before trying to duck her head away from the final slash, but as it did, she felt something odd; the coat was sponging up a lot of the damage from that attack. No duh it still hurt, but it hurt a lot less this time around. Her woolly coat was thicker than hell, able to absorb physical beatdowns and icy strikes like a sponge. And it was quite the godsend.
Just as well too, because Ophelia had fallen right into a trap, as far as Skadi was concerned. Placing all her energy into this attack, she called out "SPIRAL TREMOR!!!" as she proceeded to stamp on the ground aggressively. Like before, an earthquake would rock the arena, the warning cracks would form under Ophelia's feet once again, and a spire would emerge from the ground, but this time, the earthquake would shake the arena harder than ever, and the spire would reach around 15 meters (or a little less, just to avoid breaking the roof as it would emerge). Once again, Skadi smirked at Ophelia; if this hit, well, she may be feeling the effects in the morning
Thanks to Woolly Coat, the damage from Ophelia's Frozen Cleave is reduced quite a bit, however, thanks to the latter's current Tempo stacks, the damage is ultimately reduced by 36%. In retaliation, Skadi finishes up with a powerful Spiral Tremor to hit Ophelia.
Spiral Tremor: A much more stronger version of Spiral Pillar, Skadi stomps the ground several times to cause a powerful tremor to summon up to 3 spires to attack the enemy (if there is one enemy, then this becomes one huge spire instead), reaching up to 10 meters per spire, or 15 meters for the super spire. This attack can pierce Champion-level defence buffs and passives, and break shields for maximum possible damage. If this attack hits a Ultimate-level instead, then this attack does 50% of the maximum damage to them if they have any passives or buffs active that would otherwise decrease it, or if a shield is active (but does not break it).
Ally Digimon may be affected by the earthquake as well (but cannot be damaged by it). However, the spires will never hit an ally. If there are more than one enemy in the radius, Skadi can select who gets hit by the spires, but all of them can be affected by the earthquake regardless, leaving them open to attack from allies. (3 post cooldown)
BUFF/NERF COUNTER:
Battlecry (30% Atk+, 10% Spd+): 2/3
RELEVANT PASSIVES:
Tough Hooves (Passive): Skadi can run across craggy terrain, icy terrain or hot terrain without taking any damage.
COOLDOWN:
Rampaging Charge: 1/1 (I'd say 'ready to use' here but we're calling it quits for now in the next post anyway so why bother?) Spiral Tremor: 0/3

...There's a seal on his arm. She's fluffy, she's warm... and she's nuzzling him! There's just something really cute about this, Ryouta usually isn't the type that would give in to his desires to snuggle a Digimon and strokes them or pat them, unless it comes to Valt who he treated like a little brother... and of course Azul who apparently likes to be praised with headpats and hugs. Other than that he tried to keep it respectful. However, thing here is... well, how to say it... This one seem down to snuggle, and...
Isn't she unbearably cute?
Ryouta ended up holding Cassie longer than he expected, gently running his fingers against her furs, scratching her back in way to make her a bit more comfortable. After all he's not sure if the Gomamon can reach that place herself. He hope that she likes it though. In total it takes about five minutes before he finally set her down gently. Valt who looked at that seem to think that probably felt great... in rather envious glance.
Even though he's a bigass XVmon it looked like he's Ryouta's partner thorough and thorough.
"Well, it's best to heal for the meantime..." Ryouta decided.
"As for you two," Valt turned to his disciples. "You two should stay in that forms as long as you could. It'll be a bit tasking for Skadi, but remember, this is a training. Anyway, nurse your wounds, or if you want, I can do that for you two, up to you."
If they want Valt to heal them, he would devolve back to Vmon, then evolve to Cardinaldramon and heal them with Blessing of Zephyrus. If they want to heal that themselves, well he'll let them. However it's time to go over with what he feel necessary.
"So let's start with Ophi... you're doing great frankly. You know your strength, you use that well to raise yourself to greater degree... But I'm worried that this might cause you to become overconfident. If you can protect yourself with some form of defensive moves, that probably would be great. There are cases of delayed effect technique. They're rare, but it can be chink in your armor."
then he turned to Skadi.
"As for Skadi you have to understand and know how to use your technique without calling out its name. If that's a habit, then you can probably trick opponent into thinking you launched A attack by calling its name, but you're actually doing B attack instead. You're doing great, but I feel you need to find a role to focus yourselves in. What do you want to aim in battle? Be a healer? Be an all rounder? It's very important... some of your abilities probably can be upgraded. It's OK to take it easy for now though, but it's an important thing in the future.
Do you two have any question?"

As the blade cut into Skadi's wool, Ophelia would quickly figure out a severe issue with this frontal assault of hers. Namely, the fact that her blade didn't seem to be properly cutting into the wool in question; it was able to cut the wool on a surface level, but she had a feeling that it was absorbing a decent amount of the damage that her blade would've otherwise dealt to the Canandenmon. This would draw a low, disgruntled growl out of the Himamon; even with her growing strength and accuracy over the course of the fight, the attack hadn't hit quite nearly as hard as she would've liked - between her sword not only being a physical attack, but an icy one as well!
And not only that, but... Ophelia would quickly come to realize that getting so close up had played right into Skadi's hands (hooves?) as she called out her next attack - something different, yet very familiar as the ground beneath her would begin to shake. As the Spiral Tremor's earthquake shook beneath her, Ophelia would attempt to leap away; but was unable to find her footing quite in time with the heaving ground, as the spire would shoot upwards from underneath her! Feeling the spire slam into her body, Ophelia's breath would be knocked out of her as she was launched upwards into the air - her body tumbling along above, until her lingering feline instincts would kick in.
Twisting her body like a cat might as she finally began to descend, Ophelia would be barely able to land upright though - landing on her hands and feet, one knee to the ground as she grunted; sliding backwards a half-foot as she impacted, from the trajectory of her little 'flight'. Even as she managed to land alright though, it was clear that she didn't have fun with everything that led up to it; her armor sporting another heavy dent, as she begun to breathe heavily. She could see now that Skadi, in her Canandenmon form, was a nasty counter to her moves between the other's heavy defenses. And like a dumbass, she had just run straight into the attack - what was she thinking...?
At Valt's call, Ophelia would slowly straighten up and move to leave the training area, a flicker of emotion running over her face for but a split second - barely perceptible - before she'd glance back to Skadi. Putting on a wide grin, she would flash the Canandenmon a thumbs up, calling "Hell yeah, that was a damn good fight! C'mon down here and we can take a breather,"
Cassie, meanwhilst, was absolutely loving the attention that Ryouta was giving her. She would press her head against Ryouta's hand whenever he was petting her head, and would eagerly hug and nuzzle him whenever he was stroking along the fur on her chest or scritching along her back. Though the backscritches were meant to make her comfortable, it seemed that she was already pretty damn comfortable in the boy's arm's! She would notice Valt's gaze in their direction, though - and would giggle in his direction, calling "Do you want to snuggle, too?" with a warm smile - she was more than happy to snuggle with Valt!
Either way though, with Kenny's okay, and the duo coming down from the arena, Cassie would chirp "I'll take it from here, Valt! Look at what I can do!" as she began to use Bubble Aid. She would blow three large bubbles - each of them filled with faintly glowing water - and begin smacking them in different directions with headbutts! One would be aimed at Kenny, another at Ophelia, and the third at Skadi. Upon impact, the bubble would burst - harmlessly splashing Cassie's targets with the water within, which would quickly soak into their data; mending any wounds and bruises they had, and leaving behind a soothing sensation as the excess water would harmlessly evaporate. "How was that, Valt?" She'd chirp up at the ExVmon with a wide smile, looking to him for his thoughts, adding "I'm really good at healing!"
Though, Ophelia would note that even though Cassie had indeed healed them, and that Kenny would likely feel a whole lot better, that it didn't quite have as much effect as she expected on herself or Skadi - given the disparity in strength between a Rookie and a Champion. "Yeah... I think I'll need Valt to top us off though, if you could?" She'd mention to the dragon - which, at her agreement, she would be healed by Valt's Cardinaldramon form, with Blessing of Zephyrus. Feeling the warm breeze around her, ruffling her mane, she couldn't help a relaxed sigh - simply closing her eyes and enjoying the sensation as she sat down.
Cassie would glance up to Valt's Cardinaldramon form with visible awe, though - even if she wasn't the recipient of the actual healing effect, she could still see that it did wonders for her sister - and the wind was, much like how Ophelia felt about it, soothing. "Ooh... Maybe you could teach me to heal, like how you're teaching Ophi and Skadi to fight?" She'd ask with wide, curious eyes - adding "I want to become the best healer around, someday!" with a large and happy grin. "Hell yeah!" Ophelia would root Cassie on, grinning happily at her sister's enthusiasm.
However, then came Valt's evaluation of the both Ophelia and Skadi. Ophelia would listen closely, smiling a bit at the praise that Valt gave her. Though... the smile did waver a hair at the comment about her overconfidence, and the suggestion of defensive moves. She'd hum a hair, before mentioning "I mean, I can do my ice bucklers - though I dunno what else I could do from there, at least off the top of my head. What do you suggest?"

There was an odd pang of satisfaction that hit Skadi as both Ophelia's slashes and her own trap played out right in front of her. She could practically shrug off most of Ophelia's attacks with sheer bulk alone, and she was starting to realize she could use both to her advantage; yet, as the lion-woman tried to push herself up, a sense of guilt spread through the monster ram as the large spire, like all the other spires before them, retreated once again into the ground, and she looked at Ophelia.
Was she really going at her a little too hard? If anything, she obviously wasn't intending to kill her, but if anything, she did leave quite the dent in Ophelia, both literally and possibly mentally. Luckily for the both of them, Valt did call for ceasefire after this attack, so ceasefire did Skadi and Opehlia. The former would follow the latter, trotting along and grinning while Ophelia gave her a thumbs up. "Thanks Ophelia. You did a damn good job yourself." She replied to her compliment.
His own arms and rear end still aching, Kenny would walk up to Skadi as she exited the arena, and run up to her, throwing his arms around his tired but towering partner's lowered body, and proceeded to nuzzle her, "I'm so proud of you, buddy. You did it!" He exclaimed, feeling the soft wool on his own skin. Skadi would let out a satisfied bleat as she returned the favour, giving her own series of nuzzles to her tiny tamer.
"Aw, thank you Kenny. I told you I wouldn't let you down today, I did promise you after all." She replied, as Kenny continued to lose himself in his fluffy friend. Cuddling an absolute gargantuan like Canandemon was like cuddling a giant talking marshmallow; it felt good. And both felt they could stay like this forever. But Valt calling out to them (technically Skadi and Ophelia, but it did catch Kenny off guard too), managed to snap them out of their trance, and get them to break the hug, suggesting the two combatants stay in their current forms, which Skadi gave a nod to.
However, just before Skadi could accept Valt's offer to heal them, Cassie piped in on her own accord, shooting out 3 giant healing bubbles. While Canandenmon just watched and grinned as her bubble barrelled towards her, Kenny just up and instinctively shielded himself, flashbacks of the lost bet flooding back into his mind. However, as the bubbles hit them, a fair few of Skadi's wounds (plenty from her tiny Valaismon form) and the pain in Kenny's arms and gluteus maximus had faded away, like the water on their bodies. Instinctively, Kenny stretched his arm to test. It worked. "Thanks Cassie! You're a lifesaver!" He called to the sea lion, cupping his mouths with his hands, "I owe you one!"
However, Skadi did agree with Ophelia; Cassie just exactly wasn't enough for them. And thus, while the warm wind for blew, Kenny just found himself leaning onto Canandenmon again like a giant walking pillow. The recurring appearance of the familiar wind drake did bring back some memories for her. She would keep silent for a moment, as she and Kenny let the winds blow through them, giving them a very relaxing feeling from this. Was that the same thing she felt when the battle ended, at least before Valt threw her into the lake as part of the bet? As Cassie piped up, wanting to train under Valt's wing as wall as a healer, Skadi had to say something here, as she went to gently nudge Ophelia, "I remember when I first sparred with Valt. We made a bet with each other that the winner would get to throw the loser into a lake. And he up and went Cardinaldramon here, and I actually managed to impress him with my foray of skills." She let out a sly chuckle before continuing, "Of course, I lost, so Ryouta and Valt threw me and Kenny into the lake, but they joined us anyways. But Valt offered me to be his apprentice and, well, here we are today."
That memory made Kenny pause for a second, before bursting out laughing at that funny memory, happily noogie-ing his giggling partner without warning, "Skadi, I thought we agreed we weren't going to tell anybody that." He quipped to his partner, while she tried to fight back by nudging him with her head.
"But it was funny!" She jokingly complained. Kenny just laughed again and noogied his partner a little more before breaking off, and listening to Valt.
While Valt went on about Ophelia, she recalled everything in the battle so far with her adamant friendly adversary. She did manage to trick her with her last move, and seemed to hurt her spirits by mistake, but she did know her strength, that Spadamon. But Skadi? There were 2 big issues that Valt brought up, that she constantly called her attacks, and that she was unfocused when it came to her roles. And immediately, something in Skadi clicked: back in her Valaismon form, she would call her attacks, which may had come off to Ophelia as 'go on, dodge it'. It felt like she was chanting an incarnation, but Ophelia just used her battlecries to get the point across. Silently, she told herself to break the habit.
And as for her roles? Skadi was quite the scrappy fighter for sure. Clearly, Canandenmon's techniques just boiled down to 'attack first, ask questions later'. Her wool did give her quite a bit of bulk, allowing her to sponge physical attacks like it was nothing. Obviously, 'healer' was out of the question, but what other roles could she take? After Ophelia asked her question, Skadi spoke up as well, albeit a little sheepishly (hee), "I... don't know what role I could fit in. I've never really teamed up with another Digimon before, to be honest. You have any good ideas?"

Cassie noticed his gaze... oh dear. Valt was surprised when he asked if he also wanted to cuddle. He quickly turns his head away. "W-who? Me? Nah, no, thank you. I'm good," was the words he tossed while doing so. It doesn't sound completely rejecting for some reason... perhaps because the dragon himself actually is thinking how he'd like a cuddling session with his partner. Valt has yet completely shed his old personality as Ryu the Dracomon. That's the sign that they're one and the same Digimon. Ryu was not like Valt who tried his utmost in keeping his image in front of his disciples. Ryu would probably ask for headpats and scritches no matter what if he's in child or adult form. Valt though? Valt is pretty much Ryu's Slayerdramon form in personality.
He quickly tried to refocus himself. He's no longer the Dracomon. He's now a Vmon who got two disciples in front of him. He need to be serious. Still... He noticed something seems wrong with Ophelia. He know the girl is reckless, but he guess it's time to teach her another way of how to check enemy's defense... either way, she looked... different from how she was before, like that time when he said that her mother's teaching was wrong. What is she thinking? He probably need to address this privately. There's something that bothered him about that.
His thought however made him register Cassie's word a beat late. She already healed them... although, as he thought, it's not as effective. Still, the spirit is something that he could praise, so he grinned and gave her a thumbs up. "You did great."
After he healed them with Cardinaldramon's Blessing of Zephyrus, Cassie asked him a question that he... actually have a bit of a difficulty to answer. "Well, how to say this I'd love to teach you, but I'm not qualified I don't think. That's because I'm not 'an actual healer', but just someone who happened to have healing ability. If you want to learn in this city we have some people who can help you... Let's see... There's Holly, she's a doctor in training. And there is Haku, he's also one. Haku is more readily available in the city compared to Holly, but the flip side is he's very busy because he's one of few doctors who stayed in Ys... We still need more doctor workforce really. Ah, but if you help him with his work, he'll probably can spare some of his time to teach you."
Now back to the situation at hand... "Kenny, I'll begin your training right now., alright? Well, let's start with the sit up," Ryouta suggested. He would move to position where he can help Kenny with his workout. As for Valt.
"Ahem so... for Ophi, buckler is great and all but I suggest trying moves like one that can give you protection against status effect. I saw your move seem to be able to protect you from a status effect but what about field effect? Perhaps something that can mitigate it would be great. Or maybe a move that can heal you and at the same time provides protection from negative status effect."
Then he turns to Skadi "Let's see... First and foremost, you need to be able to function alone. Yes, yes I know this is against KIZNA's code "Camaraderie is Important" and "Don't act alone". But even so, the bottom line is you must be able to function without your friends in the battlefield to certain extent. Don't be absolutely crippled without them. Think them as precious addition that can help you fight beyond your normal capability. Don't be pure tank without ability to counter. Don't be full healer without someone to heal or way to damage with that healing ability. More or less it's like that."

Cassie would giggle at Valt's reaction to her question, and would simply chirp "Maybe another time, then!" with a bright smile. She'd giggle a little harder though, as she gently -playfully - teased Valt. "Y'know, now that I think about it... Our brother - Lae - kinda acts the same way, whenever he gets embarrassed or flustered!" She and Ophelia were unlikely to see Valt any differently if he did seek out attention from Ryouta, though. As they saw it, snuggles and pats and the such were just basic grooming and bonding activities! Things you did with people you were close to! What could be wrong with that?
Nonetheless though, as Valt would praise Cassie's healing - even if it didn't completely heal Skadi or Ophelia - and as Kenny would give thanks, the little Gomamon-X would smile brightly with pride. "Of course, Kenny! No need to thank me," She'd chirp warmly in Kenny's direction - giggling happily. Seeing everyone so happy from the healing was enough for her - this was what she valued, after all; making sure everyone was safe, happy, and healthy! It was a little disappointing that her healing wasn't quite enough for Ophelia and Skadi, but that was okay! That just meant she'd have to get stronger, and get to Champion like they are, at some point!
As the subject of Valt possibly teaching her came up, though... Cassie would listen curiously as Valt responded to her, regarding possibly teaching her. Initially, she was disappointed to hear that Valt wouldn't be able to teach her, but... Holly and Haku... Their mentions would make Cassie's eyes light up in recognition - particularly for Holly. That was one of Ophelia's friends! And Haku... Though she never met him proper, she's heard him mentioned before - one of the sons of Hikaru and Owen, yeah? Thinking over Valt's advice, Cassie would be quiet for a moment, before nodding to herself resolutely. "Alright. I'll go ask them about it, then - and I'd be more than happy to help Haku out, whenever I'm here in Ys!" Of course, she shared Ophelia's want to see the world beyond the Prominence, but... If she was around, there was no harm in helping out, yeah?
While Cassie and Valt talked, Ophelia would blink a bit as she was nudged! "Mrrp?" It seemed that, even as a Himamon, she still had the instincts in place for more feline vocalizations - judging by how she'd chirrup in curiosity and surprise, before glancing in Skadi's direction. "What's up?" She'd ask, before listening curiously as the Canandenmon recounted the time they had first met Valt, and sparred with him and Ryouta. She couldn't help a huge grin of amusement herself, hearing of how Kenny and Skadi had been tossed into the lake - as per their bet for the spar - and she also couldn't help but think back to how her spar with Valt, way back when, had gone...
Kenny would then come in to give Skadi a noogie - a rather amusing sight, considering that the size of her Canandenmon form actually set her as being about a foot and a half taller than Kenny! And that wasn't even taking into consideration her overall bulk, given her large quadrupedal shape and bulky build; Kenny looked so small, next to his partner! She probably wouldn't even have to try if she wanted to break away from the noogie - though, of course, one had to be careful around humans. This was especially with how small Kenny seemed to be, compared to someone like Ryouta. Shorter, nowhere near as much muscle - though Ophelia knew that Ryouta was an outlier, as far as bodybuilding went.
She'd laugh and chuckle a bit at their antics either way, though - Ophelia grinning widely, and Cassie seeming to join in with a few giggles of her own! "I met Valt pretty similarly, though I already told you all 'bout that," She'd comment, grinning gently - adding "But yeah, Valt had kicked my ass then, too - but he did it in his rookie form, since I only had my Spadamon form then! Did this fancy-ass attack called V-Crash that was like..." She'd mime the gesture that Valt would do for his V-Crash attack, as though she were flicking an invisible coin or pebble at some unseen target with her thumb "... It was sorta like that! He fired this pebble at me - and yeah, that doesn't sound like much, but... It hit way harder than a normal pebble would from his attack, yeah? It even charged up with all this lightning and sparks coming off of him!" It seemed that Ophelia was starting to ramble a hair - it was clear that she remembered that spar that she had with Valt well. And how couldn't she? It was what led to her joining KIZNA, too, after all! "It actually was what knocked me out of the fight - it dented my armor pretty deeply, and my chest was sore for a good few days - but it was fucking cool!"
There was something amusing, about Ophelia getting excited like this in her Champion form. As a Rookie, she at least looked like a proper child - a young little lioness, ready to seize the day. But as a Himamon, she actually appeared closer to that of perhaps a young adult or older teen, with her height and more humanlike shape. It didn't help, the ways that she would gesture animatedly with her hands, eyes wide and sparkling with glee, and grinning widely. Cassie, all the while, would've settled herself onto Ophelia's lap, snuggling up to her whilst one of Ophelia's hands stroked thru Cassie's fur. "Heh, and while I'm on that subject... I'm eager to see how this form of mine holds up against your champion form, Valt! Maybe sometime next week we could do a spar or something?" Ophelia grinned over in her teacher's direction, visibly eager to really push the limits of this new form of hers.
Speaking of new forms, though... There was something strange, in the sensations that came with staying in this Champion form of hers, for longer than the last couple times she used it. Like a thrumming underneath her skin, the type of tingling pins-and-needles ache you get from stretching new muscles, or by pushing the limits of those muscles - except that it was for her own body, for even her own core. Right now, it wasn't necessarily unpleasant - just a bit strange and new - but she did have a feeling that it'd probably grow the longer she remained in this form for longer than usual. For the meantime, it centered her, in a way - gave her the same sense of satisfaction that a good fight did, because even as she was just sitting here and resting... She was still accomplishing in pushing a different limit of hers - the limit of her forms. It would draw a brief, relaxed, exhale out of her; puffs of frosty fog billowing from the vents in her armor in an echo of the exhale, as she snuggled with her much-smaller sister.
Then, cane Valt's suggestion for expanding Ophelia's more defensive capabilities. She'd glance up in her teacher's direction as he suggested something that could either protect her from more environmental effects, or some form of heal, and would nod in understanding... hm.... She'd glance down at herself as she thought this over - at her own armor, and the faint puffs of fog that were beginning to peter out - as the gears in her head began to turn, in considering Valt's advice...

Maybe Cassie didn't notice Kenny trying to hug Valt in his moment of elation earlier when Skadi digivolved to her proper Champion form for the first time, but it was clear Valt wasn't exactly keen on close affection from others. However, his stuttering and behaviour hinted that underneath his 'tough guy' persona, he really was just a big softie. Skadi tried to stifle her giggles as this happened. This wasn't exactly the first time she saw her mentor acted silly (see: the fact that he jumped into the lake with Ryouta just a few moments after they threw Kenny and Skadi inside).
Kenny just smiled nodded in response to Cassie's friendly reply, but God, that baby sea lion was infectious in a positive way, as he found himself giggling along with her. Disappointingly, Valt had turned down the offer to train Cassie as a healer, but the mention of 2 other healers, the 'doctor-in-training' Holly and Haku, who was noted as very busy, but more readily available. The remark from Cassie saying she was willing to give Haku a helping hand was not lost on Kenny, as he approached the Gomamon X again, "Hey Cassie, if you ever need a helping hand, do give us a call, OK?" He smiled at her, before proceeding to lean down and going to stroke the sea lion's fur.
Speaking of things that wasn't lost on anybody, after Kenny's friendly noogie on his partner (which didn't really hurt much; granted, when you're primary arsenal of attacks included headbutts that could pack quite a punch, you wouldn't feel much pain from mundane stuff like that either), he would let go, only for the ram to nuzzle him in response, which did take him a little aback as he laughed again, before they listened to Ophelia's story. Apparently, in their respective Rookie forms, Valt had managed to flat out knock out Ophelia with a pebble, and left quite the impact. Skadi could attest to that; "Valt can be really tough at times, but deep down he can be a really friendly fellow. Like I said, I remember when he was flat out applauding me when I managed to catch him off guard with my surprise attack. That didn't stop him from wiping the floor with me though." She joked to Ophelia. She still remembered that part fondly, how she was a little confused at first from what he meant by 'you passed', to realising that she managed to actually impress him. "He's a really good mentor, but I like that he can be a bit more lax from time to time."
There was no doubting the clear sisterly love and wild teenage optimism that emanated from Ophelia; she was pretty much more like an unrestrained Skadi. In fact, if Ophelia just suddenly up and said 'By the way Skadi, I'm secretly your long lost sister', Kenny would not be surprised. Ophelia, while affectionately petting Cassie had asked to do another spar with him. Skadi, ever the one to get a jump in on an opportunity, would follow up on that, "Hey, Ophi! Mind if I join you on that?" She would call out. It would be a good excuse to both train with Valt and hang out with Ophelia. A win-win.
Kenny would just chuckle and nod. On his free time in the Digital World, when he didn't have to go to work, he would basically go along with Skadi's suggestions around 99% of the time. He seemed more than keen to do that again, especially if it meant he could train with Ryouta or at the very least hang out with him. Speak of the devil himself, Ryouta would tell him it was time for sit-ups. "OK. I'm coming!" Kenny said, following Ryouta to where he would stand. But there was that one mingling elephant in the room Kenny needed to tackle first, "Hey, uh, can you show me how to do a sit-up properly? I've... never really done one before." He added a little awkwardly, as he rubbed his hand behind his head. Kenny was healthy, yes, but his fitness skills and knowledge weren't exactly anything to write home about. He just needed a little nudge in the right direction.
As Skadi listened to Valt telling her about better defence, Skadi started to feel a bit of an ache in her legs. Yes, Weatherdramon, who was an armour, all things considered, was a step in the right direction, but that was partially the work of a Digimental. Canandenmon was all her. Her attention quickly drifted off onto the strain her body was feeling. It wouldn't be enough to kill her, but she would not be surprised if she suddenly reverted and fell asleep when they resumed training. Her mind snapped back to reality when Valt addressed her.
Despite her aching feeling, she listened intently. It was clear while KIZNA's code encouraged teamwork, there were going to be situations where she would be alone, and it would not be possible for her to fall back on friends all the time. She knew that feeling. She did manage to solo Arkadimon just a few moments after digivolving to Rookie for the first time. Skadi would also nod in well in understanding, but there was quite a nagging feeling in her mind.
"I understand, Valt. To be honest, I think I realised I was getting a bit too predictable in that first spar. " She mused, "Up until you I was fighting wild Digimon with no sense of self-preservation to keep Kenny safe. But you and Ophelia have showed me that I run the risk of my opponents figuring out my attack patterns and reacting to them. It's been quite the wake up call for me."

Valt just decided to ignore Cassie's words. if he decided to reply to it somehow, it felt like it'll be some sort of a mistake... in a sense, he would play on her hand (er, flippers?) either way, it's not like he's against what she said though. He just want to keep his image as a cool, fun loving instructor rather than a more spoiled, uncool figure. Still, it doesn't stop him from ruffling the Gomamon X's hair playfully and grin wryly at her commentaries about her brother.
"Haku also often goes out to other Northern Prominence area. There are still a lot of people that wanted to stay in Ys but the facilities in the house has yet met their requirements, thus need a bit of a renovation. When it comes to their healthcare, we still have to treat them like our own citizen, and that's how Haku often called for house visits outside of Ys. He prioritizes people outside first while the rest prioritizes one inside."
He tried his best to ignore the talk about their first meeting. As much as it brings him pride, it also a bit of an embarrassing moment for him. Valt coughed, then answered when addressed. "Well, Ophi... I think I'll have problem with your new form, but... hey, I'm up to challenge. Who knows, maybe we'll learn a trick or two, hah~ Well, anyway, if you want to battle, bring it on."
As for Ryouta... He immediately get in position, then do some crunches. "If it's too hard for you, just do it straight like this. Arm on the sides of your head, legs curled, make sure it's stay on the same place... if you're not sure if you can do it or not, just ask someone to keep your legs together. After that, just raise your body up, try your best to have your elbow touching your knees. Once you're used to it, crunch your sides, or put a weight on your chest, train like that. For now just do the vanilla ones."
"Well then, are you two going to rest more, or shall we continue with more training? Because..."
Valt shedded his armor form, and immediately evolved to his perfect, Magnamon. "I'm ready to teach you guys some teamworks."

It seemed that Cassie was being put on cloud nine, being pet by both Valt and Kenny. She'd push her head up into their touches, her short stubby tail wagging happily all the whilst. Although, due to the fact that her tail was a bit too short for any proper wagging, it'd result in her whole backside wagging instead - as she happily accepted and indulged in the attention that Valt and Kenny were both giving her! "Feels so niiiice~" She'd hum to herself - visibly pleased.
She'd snap herself from her petting-induced daze, though, as Valt would mention Haku and his tendency to take calls from around the Prominence, and she realized she hadn't even responded to Kenny's offer to help! Cassie smiled warmly to the both of them, first nodding to Kenny and mentioning "I appreciate it, lots and lots, and I'll be sure to call you if I do need help! But I'm sure I'll be fine, Kenny!" She would nuzzle the side of his leg, before glancing over to Valt and adding "And that's fine to me! I'd love to travel with Haku - I'm at home in the snow and cold, after all!" Heck, it'd probably even be easier on her than it would be up in the mountains, where the conditions tended to be harsher!
"I ain't too much one for being lax, honestly. At least not unless I've been hard at work leading up to it!" Ophelia would remark with a somewhat boisterous laugh, smiling warmly. "Even if I get my ass kicked in the process, I'm still learning and getting better, yeah?" As long as she kept pushing herself, finding her limits and then expanding upon them, she'd get strong in no time! She'd grin a bit at Skadi though, as she'd add "You're definitely damn impressive too, though - if that fight kept going, you probably would've kicked my ass after that surprise attack..!" She'd rub her spot on her torso where the Spiral Tremor had struck her; even with the healing, it was still a hair sore. "Just means I'll have to fight harder with ya, next time we spar!"
As Skadi spoke up about joining her in sparring with Valt, though... Ophelia would laugh a little. "Hell yeah, I'm down to do the both of us against Valt while he's in some fuck-off big form! I was thinking something more one-on-one between me and him, though. I wanna really try this new form against a variety of foes, honestly, and see where I need to grow!" She would clarify though, grinning humorously. As Valt put his two cents in about a possible one-on-one though, Ophelia would grin widely in Valt's direction, fistpumping and exclaiming "Hell yeah! I'll be looking forward to it!" Indeed, she was hoping they'd learn a few tricks from sparring in Champion stage, sometime in the future.
Speaking of the both of them sparring against Valt, though... Her eyes would light up with excitement as Valt took on his Perfect stage - Magnamon. "Oh. Fuck. Yes." Ophelia would practically growl out with a toothy grin - Cassie hopping off of her lap so that the eager Himamon could get up. It was clear that Ophelia was already pumped for a fight, right here and right now - already walking for the training arena! "Hell yes, lets do this Skadi!"
Cassie, though, would simply sigh and chuckle in Valt's direction. "She sure seems to be in a good mood," She'd comment wryly, the Gomamon-X settling down where she was as she'd watch both the digimon trio, as well as Kenny and Ryouta.
