"But the thing is I can't just ignore them, if I do they just pile up and up and up and up..."
The meicrackmon couldn't pull at her ears so her tendrils just sort of wriggled and flopped about. She was earnestly exasperated and frustrated with this whole entire mess. She practically wilted at the fact she had to promise him she'd have to try, she didn't even know if she could keep it!
"I don't know if I can do that Da, I really don't..."
Holly's ears flattened against her head, she didn't so much mean the promise itself as trying to. If she got overly stressed there was no telling what would happen with her. The meicrackmon was practically a jumbled mess at the moment. Something about medication? Meditation? Hypnosis? She'd blink and frown a little bit at hearing what jade was allowed to do, she'd go to speak and then of course the orb would comment.
"Yes Sir."
"...Da I don't think I can meditate. I.. have trouble sitting still as it is you know that... and Hypnosis? Would that even work for me? Or medication? It'd have to be kinda strong wouldn't it?"
She'd rub at her head, she could feel an ache coming on and she'd sigh a bit. If allowed she'd stand up, but if not she'd squirm in her seat under the watchful gaze of her Da.
K let out a small snicker as she noted the reaction from the bug, he probably had to deal with the same sort of thing from her husband. K kept that hug going a bit and she'd kiss the top of her eldest's head.
"Yes you have reached mom, would you like to leave a message?"
More teasing, amused and what not. She'd smile widely and rub her cheek affectionately against her daughters before letting her down. The renamon stretched a bit and wondered to herself if showing her eldest this place was a good idea...
It didn't so much matter at the fact, Lunch would get whipped up in a jiffy. Holly being somewhat like a zombie through it, she of course would eat what was put in front of her and the renamon would ask her husband to get her to go to sleep... and make sure that she actually got some rest. Not exactly what she wanted to be honest but she saw those bags, she knew that holly needed it.
She'd of course tell him that they were going out somewhere. K would take a portal to the outskirts of whitewater with her eldest daughter. Stretching a bit as the familiar landscape opened up in front of her, a long winding trail the only thing leading off into the distant forest that she had once made her home.
"Did your father ever tell you syre what I did after the intial D-reaper incident in the Dark area? Did he tell you what happened to me then?"

"Holly."
Mikemon's stern voice raised up again - as she stammered that she 'couldn't promise', that she didn't know if she could, the voice of a caring but concerned father raised out of the cat, as his certain eyes met his daughter's own. It was a tone that Holly would have only heard rarely, but if she had even heard it once before, she would know exactly what it meant:
Her dad was serious. Even if she felt like it was difficult, this was something that Holly was going to have to overcome, even if her parents were going to have to push her to it. The two of them, after all, weren't just going to let Holly ruin herself. Jade understood it almost immediately - and right then, Holly tried to push away two of the options on the table.
Mikemon dragged them right back on. "Trust me as a doctor - I know what kind of medicine you will respond to, more likely than not. And you've meditated before, with Guru. Have a little more faith in what you can do, alright?"
She'd be allowed to stand, but not pull at her ears. Though smaller, that was another habit that she had to stop - a Meicoomon's ears were quite sensitive! K's teasing with Syre aside, it didn't take long after for the two to head out through a portal. Mikemon would nod at that request to get Holly to get some sleep - it was what he intended to do, anyway - and with the two along, Syre would find her feet sinking slightly into the soft dirt path of the forest.
This was just outside Whitewater, right? "Right, um... not in detail, but he did mention that you were into meditation. It didn't come up too often, though."
Interesting that she brought it up, though! "Is this forest where you spent your time with it?" As for Holly and Mikemon, the setting was different - but one that Holly would probably be a bit more familiar with than she would have liked.
The cat - now a Meicoomon, by Mikemon's instructions - would be sitting on her bed, as the doctor poured a small amount of purple medicine into a small cup. Sometimes, this was the only way that Holly would get any sort of shut-eye, and based on today, this was one of those times. "Sorry about this, hun - this week, this is about all I can do for it."

Holly flinched at hearing that voice, those stern caring eyes meeting hers and she'd wolt underneath that gaze. She didn't hear it very often and when she did it was always because her da had to put her foot down. Or was serious about something. This was incredibly difficult for her and the meicrackmon sighed softly as her da wasn't moving from the spot he had planted himself in.
Trust him as a doctor.
She had meditated before with guru.
That stuff was easy though, she did trust him and with guru he had helped her along. But him telling her to have faith well.. Made it hard for the meicoomon to really... look at her da. She'd just managed a small nod, seeming to sort of relent for the time being.
"...I'll try..."
Two rather meek sounding words, Jade already had floated off. Their parameters set for the afternoon... and likely for the foreseeable future. Up until holly got her sleeping arrangements in order.
K looked about for a few moments and gestured forward towards where the forest was. She'd flick her ears at hearing that syre only knew that she went to meditate basically. She'd grin just a bit and reach down to rub the top of her eldest's head.
"For two whole months I meditated. Your father visited from time to time, it was quite peaceful I tell you that."
The renamon slowly walked forward, content on taking her daughter to this spot. She'd flick her ears a bit and then nod slowly as her daughter asked if this was the forest that she spent her time in.
"It is. My presence left a large impact on the location as a whole. Come on dear~"
Holly fidgeted a little bit, sitting there as a meicoomon as per her Da's instructions. She'd take the purple medicine from her da and frown lightly, she didn't like this at all and didn't want to do this. She'd dream again she just knew it.
"What if I wake up from this still? What if the dream gets worse because of this?"
There was an edge of fear to her voice and she'd stare at the purple liquid. How this was the only thing that he could do right now for her, she'd sigh lightly and bring the substance up to her lips...
"...All right Da..."

"Two months, seriously?" Syre couldn't even begin to comprehend sitting still for that long. She was no Holly, of course, but that long, really? Her ears gave a bit of an interested flick, and she followed right along. With her time considering being a field ranger, she was quite comfortable walking through the woods, eyes occasionally giving a flick towards the shadows or the occasional rustle.
They were going out to mom's meditation spot. And it... "Wait, so like the place changed because you meditated there? Weird, I wouldn't think just relaxing your mind would do that much... was there more to it than that?"
Now Syre was curious, but heck, that's what cats were! Again, Holly resisted, but Mikemon shook his head.
"This is far from ideal, Holly, but its a medicated sleep. Any dreams you have will be more muted than normal, so you don't have to worry too much about it. What will make the dreams worse is getting sick because you stayed awake for too long."
Aside from that, he'd give a soft smile, and carefully run his hand down the cat's back. "I know its not your favorite thing - and I know you don't like seeing what you're seeing right now. But you just need to work through it for now, alright? For me, for mom... and most importantly, for yourself."

"There was a week break in it where I was kidnapped and forced to guard a spire at the top the frozen mausoleum but other than that yes. A whole two months."
K padded along quite comfortably, this place felt like home to her. In every sense of the word it had been, it had been an adventure for her, a place for her to change. There was another week she didn't talk about, to anyone but to the person that she had spent it with. Not meaning to in that entire span of being... well what she was. She'd pause and glance down at Syre.
"The amount of energy that I had control over was immense, I was practically reading super mega at all times in most forms for whatever reason. Part of the reason your father was able to keep track of me. So I assume that because of that the area was changed, that or maybe something more to it. Hard to really tell."
K gave a shrug and kept on padding along. Eventually they would reach quite the scene in terms of things. There wasn't a stump anymore, no longer split in half and wanting attention. It was a large tree, quite a bit larger than those around it. Standing a good thirty or fourty feet above the 'natural' canopy of the place.
Unlike the trees around it it felt far more alive, small trails of data wisping through the air. A calm sort of effect here, it felt extremely motherly and much like K herself when she was at the peak of things. The bark color of the tree was pretty normal but it was within the leaves that likely stood out the most.
A faint almost otherworldly glow around each and every one of them. The tree itself didn't even look like it had been affected by the recent changes in what could of been it's 'host' of things.
"...I suppose it grew and grew with all the energy I must of had pulsing off of me or something wow... What type of tree is this even?"
K walked up to the trunk, stepping over some roots and placing a hand against it. She'd flick her ears quietly and turn her head to look at her daughter with a somewhat bemused expression
"...It was just a stump when I last saw it... heh."
Holly frowned a little bit as her Da explained that the dreams would be far more muted than normal. She'd close her eyes and sigh softly before shaking her head. The fact that he was right on both accounts didn't sit completely well, but she had no reason to really distrust her da. She'd take the medicine he gave her, letting out a somewhat disgusted sound at the taste.
"...All right Da I'll just... try to work through things. Tch... I hope you're right about the dreams n stuff.. And I hope that-"
It might of been a little too soon for her to drink the medicine. Holly's metabolism and habit of eating a lot of things definitely put her body in the pace. She flumped back against her Da's arm already passed out from the medicine; if anything it just went to show that she really needed to take things slower...
But perhaps where things were similar between her and her parents... some things were too similar. Jade floated into the room, it's orb dimly glowing with a golden energy of all things. The voice distinctly not hers, nor holly's. Just simply... was.
"Tch. I thought she'd never sleep. Dr. Mikemon I presume? We have much to talk about. For simplicity sake call me Opal."

"That's... um... a hell of an asterisk if I've ever heard one, mom."
It was before she was born so Syre, of course, hadn't heard anything about it, but it was a bit concerning to hear her so graciously gloss over that fact. Just what kind of time was this meditative period if she could just gloss right over that? Well, with that one question in her mind, K brought up another point: the fact that the land changed around her was simply due to the fact that she was focusing a large amount of energy. Interesting - Syre wondered, exactly, what that would look like.
But she wouldn't be wondering for long: following her mother right along, they would definitely reach what felt like an otherworldly place, more a haven of spiritualism than anything like the woods around them. More than that, Syre felt... very much at home here. Like her mother was wrapping a warm blanket around her, but did that make sense? This one tree stood out from the rest, a true testament to K's power, and something that the Renamon herself didn't even recognize.
Or perhaps she did, as a stump. Hearing that question, Syre gave a chuckle, carefully running a gloved hand against its base.
"Honestly, I don't even know if there'd be another tree like this in the world. It... it feels like you. Data signal and all." "Good girl, Holly..."
Feeling the Meicoomon slump into him, Mikemon carefully took that medicine cup, and lied Holly right back on her bed. He put the bottle away, and was ready to sit at the side of the room for a little bit - only to blink, and see Jade floating back into the room. A golden glow surrounding it. Was... was this the source of Holly's discomfort?
"No, Jade - you let her sleep, you hear me?"

"To be fair, it was just a minor hiccup in course of things."
K let out a small chuckle and shook her head, how to explain this properly. Honestly the whole meditation thing was... Well something that led right into another. She'd rub at her neck and glance down at her daughter, reaching out to gently pet at the top of the other's head.
"See I was meditating about these things called Keys. Keys of digivolution, everyone has them in some form or another, but only a few can really access them. That's what I mediated to get, and getting all seven of them well.. Probably led to this."
K looked up at the tree, smililing lightly as the 'stump' more or less felt like just another her. It was strange in a way, she didn't mind it in the least bit. The renamon turned her head to her daughter and smile warmly.
"It's amazing isn't it? I hope it stays like this, it's so peaceful here. Me and your father both rested here at a time before he eventually brought me back to the doctor's office."
The renamon paced around the tree, interested in the large plant for a good reason. She'd eventually just lean up against it, watching the data trails.
"It's funny really, my whole world coming to meet the place that I spent so long in. This... was what I wanted to show you in a sense, though this is much better than just a stump in the middle of no where heh."
Considering the fact that holly couldn't even resist if she didn't want to the meicoomon for the most part rested comfortably in the Doctor's arm. Up until he moved her into the bed proper. Once of course 'Jade' was in the room that didn't change all too much, but the golden glow dimmed a bit.
"Doctor I'm not going to wake her, I just need to talk to you. Outside, inside, where-ever. A minute is all I need. You as her father and my grandfather need to know what I found. You said passive research and yes, That is what Jade is doing. Note how I'm a bit smaller than she is. This is taking a lot of energy to do and I can probably do this maybe... one other time. So please. Just hear me out I don't care if we have to move."
Though perhaps the doctor would notice that the golden glow could be the source of the discomfort. Perhaps Jade as a whole was bad for his daughter, maybe that's why she slid further back into her previous norms. With the AI making the meicoomon overwork herself...

"You worry me sometimes, mom."
The BlackGatomon chuckled. The vent was long before her time, and it hardly mattered now. This place was far more interesting than worrying about that old story, though as K started to explain, Syre admittedly was a little lost as to what she was talking about. Keys of Digivolution? Something that everyone had? Syre brought her hand up to her chest, pursing her lips. "To be honest, mom, I don't think I really feel them myself - but I was able to Digivolve to my mega form? Are they really necessary?"
It seemed that K moved on quickly enough, though, moving to marvel about this tree. Indeed, it was far more interesting than a stump, Syre giving a nod of agreement. There was a sense of serenity here, basking in the light of the leaves. She looked down at her device, taking care to log where it was if she ever wanted to take a portal back here. "Even without the tree, well... its still quite a relaxing place. It almost feels like you're still meditating here, you know?" Syre gave a smile, sitting back against the tree. "I feel like I could spend a lot of time here." Mikemon still grit his teeth as 'Jade' continued to call out to him. Considering all the agony that Holly had been put through for her lack of sleep, any force against that was met with a little bit of distrust. Slowly, he'd give a nod - and direct the pair of them to go out into the hallway.
He was silent, and as they would step out, the door would close. He'd simply say one thing.
"She's in agony."

"I swear the amount of people that have said that to me could form a club."
K gave a shrug to syre's question, they were things that people had. You didn't need to use them, they were old fashioned in some ways and in others they were representative of powers that everyone could have. She just happened to use them. K shifted slightly as her daughter spoke again, flicking her ears forward as she said it was relaxing. How it was like she still was meditating here.
"It does feel that way doesn't it? Heh. Well if you want to I wouldn't blame you..."
K took a seat next to her daughter and put an arm around them. Pulling them close in a half hug of sorts. She was very proud of her daughter, happy with the time that she spent with them. But there was always one thing that K regretted beyond anything else.
"...I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you at the start. It's one of the few regrets I've had in my life."
The 'Jade' wasn't surprised at the fact that her grandfather was like this, in fact it made this next part probably a touch easier. The distrust that followed was well warranted and she was grateful that the other was at least willing to hear her out. Though the one thing he said seemed to catch her off-guard.
"...Yes. She is. And ultimately it's our fault as a group, the Jade I mean. And there's some things you can do about it. I don't want to put ideas in your head but, breaking our connection would be the wisest thing you could do at the end. We can still function on our own, we've got a core technically but breaking that bond is going to be difficult... and honestly if it's broken violently we won't survive but she'll be fine."
There was a long pause and the orb almost seemed to sigh.
"What do you want to do?"

Well, sure, but at least there was a reason that those who heard about the keys were confused! Did her dad even know about them, or was it just something that he leaned from K? This added so many questions, giving the cat a perspective of her mom that she hadn't seen before!
She gave a soft smile, nuzzling into K's side as the fox wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "Heh, why would you blame me? This place is nice... and, I dunno, I just think it would be a good place to think." It wasn't as if she would just rely on using this place or anything, but if she needed an hour or so to herself, it would help. Honestly, it was about the best gift that K could have left behind.
At that moment, though, Syre's ear gave a twitch, hearing a true sadness in K's voice. She apologized that she couldn't be there to see her grow up, to hatch, to be there for her. "Come to think of it, my first time seeing you was right after the Library incident. I... I know you were just trying to protect the family, but I have to admit, back then, I didn't know exactly what to think of you. But now..."
She gave a smile, looking right towards the fox. "I'm glad to have met you." Holly's state was Jade's fault? Mikemon gave a blink, tensing a claw into a fist but otherwise listening to what she had to say. She suggested breaking their connection to Holly, to try and remedy her symptoms...
... But, perhaps surprisingly, Mikemon shook his head. "I don't want to do that to her. You're an important part of Holly, a dear friend, and its not going to be my choice to do that. But Jade, its not a one-way street: there's things you can do to help her, especially if you're tied to her core. Rather than explore these dreams and coax Holly's consciousness along the way... well..."
He sighed. And that stern voice returned. "Before anything else. Put her health and mind first."

K was glad that she could at least explain just a little bit, she was pretty sure that her father had learned about the keys on his own. And if Syre voiced any questions she'd be sure to answer them as best she could, linking them into the personality that kept itself near her core.
"Well it's calming and... yes I would suppose it'd be a good place to think. Just feels right around here doesn't it?"
K leaned her head back to stare up at the tree, even while her daughter was still leaning into her. She was still very sad about the whole not being there thing, and it would be eternally frustrating every step of the way.
"That it was... Honestly I don't blame you; I was more or less an enigma to you. But I'm glad that didn't stay the same."
K's smile widened a bit and she'd give her daughter another hug, somewhat firmer and with both arms this time. Her ears flicking just a bit as she had this time to spend with her daughter.
"But if we cause her agony isn't it better to remove the source?"
The confusion in the jade orbs voice was obvious and it'd float a little bit closer to their 'mother' of sorts. But given direction and some honest options well.. The orb shifted a bit, that golden glow dimming slowly.
"...Yes sir. We'll only explore those dreams, and push for those ideas if she's in the good position to do so. Well not so much push as suggest I suppose. In any case. Sorry for taking up your time, but I must go. If it continues to be an issue well... You know the alternatives I guess?"
The orb gave a little bow, or at least gave the best bow it could before slowly floating off. It was obvious it was processing what the mikemon had said.

Indeed, it just felt right. Syre gave a smile and a nod, closing her eyes as she just felt the data of this place in the air. So calm, so tranquil... was this the state that mom felt the world back then? It was almost hard to believe that such a hard-fighting Knight could be so tranquil.
But, then again, this was what mom felt like around the house. Kind, loving, caring - and focused. Syre felt it all, and felt her smile widen as K mentioned their overall relationship. "Honestly, there was a part of me who thought Amelie would just end up being my 'mom', but... to be honest, you do a bit better than auntie at it." She gave a chuckle - and felt herself snapped up right in those arms, hugging back against K as she let out a small giggle.
"Don't worry, Nyaromon-me was a little boring anyway. Just weird to see everyone in the club oggling over me!" Wouldn't it be better just to remove the source?
Mikemon bit his lip at Jade's terse response - and like the machine it was, the orb simply mechanically responded to the cat's inquiry. She was told to put her health and mind first - and the orb would follow it to the letter, to the T.
As the orb started to float away, however, Mikemon would catch the ball in his hands - as if forcing the jewel's attention back onto him.
"Jade. Holly wants to be your friend." Mikemon's explanation was equally terse. "You're more than just her precious creation. Figure out what that means - and go from there."

K gently rubbed at her daughter's ear with a hand, she was earnestly going to miss this. She knew that as she likely would fade away that her mind would go to her family first, maybe her friends if she managed to hang on for long enough... but she knew without a doubt her last thoughts would be of her husband. She'd tenderly kiss at the top of her daughter's head and tilting her head slightly.
"If she had I have very little doubt that she would of managed well. But I'm glad that I was able to be your mother. Even if I am your 'mom' that doesn't mean I have to be your mom. You know?"
There was a soft chuckle and the renamon mulled over the fact of what Syre would of been like at such an early stage. There was soft line of tears and the renamon wiped them away from her eyes.
"I was so mad at myself for missing your birth and your early days. But everything changed when I saw you for the first time, sure I had missed out on a lot of things and they are something I will never get back. I bet you were the cutest little Nyaromon though~"
K would grin and reach forward with a hand, gently pinching at one of Syre's cheeks. Honestly she could just imagine it right now, it would of been a different time completely if that wisemon thing had never happened...
'Jade' thought they were done, they thought that they would move forward and do what they needed. The orb did not however expect their grandfather of all things to grab at them, forcing their attention back onto the mikemon. It'd shift uncomfortably in his grip and 'stare' up at him.
Friend?
More than just a precious creation?
There was a sound of an audible click like that of someone clicking their teeth together. They didn't know what that meant, they didn't know what it meant to have that sort of relationship. IF they had brows to furrow they would of furrowed them, they would of made a puzzled expression. But silence permeated their form and there was for a few moments as though nothing was going to be said at all. Though eventually they'd speak up.
"I presume you mean more than just the definition of friend and the actual application of being one? I'm... not sure if we can do that, we all look up to her as more of a mother figure than anything. We are her creation but... I don't know how well that will go. We will try. But I can't really promise if we're going to be able to considering everything."
There was a light veil of exasperation and the orb shifted in the mikemon's hand. It almost seemed to be turning it's head or perhaps frowning entirely.
"...We understand the relationships in front of us but don't know how to build one very well. It will take some time, we are... rather young after all."

Really, it was nice to just have a moment to themselves. Calmly resting in her mother's arms, Syre's ear gave a flick as she mentioned that Amelie would have done alright at it. Indeed, for the few months that she was there, the spirit wielder definitely became an important person in Syre's life, a lifelong friend that she could rely on through thick and thin.
It reminded her that she had people in her life other than mom - a sad, but comforting fact in the few days that lied before them. "... Heh. To be honest, mom, 'cute' isn't something I've ever tried to be. You know I'm not into that sort of stuff." She felt herself fidget at the feeling of that pinch against her cheeks. And, eventually, she gave a defeated sigh - the faint light of Digivolution surrounding her, as the smaller yellow Digimon replaced Syre in her mother's arms.
"... And already I miss having arms." She laughed! Jade didn't understand. The construct that she was, even with her personality and intelligence, simply couldn't comprehend any sort of emotion other than the sheer definition. They admitted that they would try, and Mikemon would give a short nod... but he wasn't quite done yet.
Slowly, he reached his arm out to his side, and pulled out his own red crystal, the one tied to himself. "... When I forsook being a demon lord, I turned Barbamon's crystal into this. In fact, most of my data as a Lord exists within this sphere. It levels out my data signal, and makes me feel more like a normal Mikemon - but I'm not."
He closed his eyes, shaking his head. "Just like Holly, vivid dreams plague my mind. Those of sick delight, remembering my accomplishments as Barbamon - more than once I've woken up over a sink, that poor fox rubbing my back after the worst of it. Holly... well, she might never have a perfect night of sleep. I'm worried for her - and that's why I need you to do your best, Jade."

K thought of course that amelie would do well in a lot of things, even if they had only met a sparse few times she still considered her to be a good friend. K was glad that her daughter would have someone to rely on after she was gone, especially in the form of that particular spirit wielder. There might of even been others that the young mon could do so on, but K wasn't sure if she wanted to think on that too much.
"Well you don't have to try to be cute you know that. I know you're not into it, I just like to tease~"
K however was surprised to see that syre de-digivolved into the smaller yellow digimon that they were just talking about. She'd raise her brows and lift her daughter up carefully, pressing her cheek against her daughters.
"I can relate, my viximon feels so strange. Most of my forms have hands of some kind... well er... not kyukimon. Though knife hands sounds about right. Scythe hands rather. Still I think I might of lost my marbles seeing you like this the first time!"
How could she understand? How could she know? This family and the sparse people that they worked with were all that they ever known. It would be a difficult thing to do in this location. Holly would have to travel more... and let the orb learn. Jade shifted uncomfortably at seeing that red orb, she could feel the presence of the power behind it without a lick of a doubt. They sat there and listened to what he had to say, how he felt like a normal mikemon and that he needed to have someone to attend him when he had dreams too.
Dreams just like holly. Who might not have a perfect night of rest. The orb would of bit it's lip or scowled but they saw what the other meant.
"We will try Sir. That's all we can really promise. Her health and her mind, and hopefully we can be a friend to her. A perfect nights rest for her is one that doesn't have a dream or one that she wakes with a start."
The orb hesitated a bit and shifted in the Mikemon's hand, wanting to be let go at this point. It felt largerly uncomfortable around something that it was somewhat based off of.
