Syre knew that she didn't have to be cute! Cute wasn't her, after all - she was a fighter, a Knight, and with Amelie she was a bit of a reporter. She enjoyed exercise, runs, sparring, and thinking games - not prettying herself up for anyone! Though she would make an exception for at least a minute, to at least show mom what she missed out on.
Plucked up, she would nuzzle against that Renamon's cheek, chuckling at the thought that she might have lost her marbles! "Mm, a lot of people tried to pick me up, and eventually I think I just grew out of it. But yes, hands, paws, whatever - they're good! Er, give me some room, I'm gonna pop back..." And as K would put her down or at least stretch out her arms, Syre would slip easily back into her BlackGatomon form, stretching out those aforementioned arms in relief!
"Heh, reminds me of the first time I saw dad as a Salamon. He honestly doesn't even like to be looked at in that form - says it makes him feel vulnerable or somethin'." Honestly, that was all Mikemon could ask. So long as Jade understood what she had to do in the short term.
With that 'twitch' in his paw, Mikemon would let Jade go, and give a nod in the orb's direction, giving a 'tsk' as she mentioned that she still dreamed of those assassinations. "Without those memories, she was being torn up inside - she chose to get those back by herself. There's no easy answer for her to get over that, but... hopefully she'll see the light at the end of the tunnel."
She gave one last nod to Jade, and would silently open that door back up, to watch over Holly's slumber a little while longer. Just to make sure that she was okay.

She might not have to be cute, but K was damned if she didn't at least call her daughter that. She might of been a knight, might of been a fighter or even a reporter. But why did that have to stop her from being that? The renamon enjoyed the company of her daughter and even with a teasing view of what she was back then... didn't do much to ease the sorrow she felt still.
"To be fair I have a hard time not picking you up as a blackgatomon."
K nodded a bit and put her daughter back down, watching them turn back into the blackgatomon. She'd tease her daughter with another big hug before standing back up, following suit as she stretched. The renamon felt her face turn a little red as she realized something.
"....To be fair, he would be pretty vulnerable. I... remember a small section of the fight at the library where he was that to avoid being 'booked' as it were. Eesh. I should probably talk to him about that..."
Good grief there was a lot that she still wanted to do with her family and this was just the tip of the iceberg!
Jade was somewhat thankful to get away from that red orb, it just... felt strange to be around. She'd listen carefully at hearing about those memories, but the idea of holly getting over the assassintations was a good one. The orb hummed thoughtfully and gave a little nod.
"If she doesn't we're here for her. Well.. off to the study I suppose."
The orb would float off and leave the mikemon to it. Holly on the other hand was still passed out like a rock, but her eyes were moving under their lids, the indication of some kind of dreaming. It wasn't really a surprise, thankfully though if the mikemon looked her signal was fairly even other than a spike here or there...

"Oh, like you stop yourself half the time anyway."
Syre gave a laugh - and lo and behold, just as she returned to her Gatomon form, she was once more plucked up into those arms! She gave a chuckle, briefly returning that hug before she was let go, the cat taking the moment to sit at the base of that relaxing tree. It seemed that Syre's comment about the Salamon had triggered a bit of a negative memory.
"... Hm? I'm guessing you had your hands around him so he had to make himself smaller or something - ah, but would he really want to talk about it at this point?" It was an event far behind them at this point, and surely a bit of a sore spot for both of them.
"Unless... its something you still have on your chest?" "Holly..."
There she was, dreaming again - and the look on her face wasn't entirely one of comfort, either. The doctor might have scolded her, but here, it was clear as day: there was something wrong with her. Maybe it was the stress of the week, maybe it was an aspect of K's data, or maybe the grief and everything was finally getting to her.
The cat grit his teeth, staying for about ten minutes longer, before simply realizing there was nothing he could do for her right now. Slowly, he stepped out, closed the door, and made his way out to the main living area.
"Sovereign, give me a miracle - I can't stand to see her like this..."

"I don't know what you're talking about!"
There was a light snicker and the renamon would playfully rub at the top of her daughter's head. Though she'd sigh lightly at the fact that she did indeed have her hands on her father at one point.
"I had him in my grip yes, then after he de-digivolved to get out of it I uh... well. I used El-thor while he was still airborne. And he had a little metal collar around his neck in that form so after the fact I felt terrible. The actions I did that day I still regret even if I wasn't in control of myself. None of the people other than Carlos or Dio, or your father... was I able to apologize to. And it's not looking like I will be able to do so anytime soon."
K gave a small shake of her head and looked up at the tree, it didn't feel right to talk about this sort of thing around the tree. She'd hum a bit and pull out that portal device, staring down at it.
"...Do you still want to stay here? There's other places we can still go."
Holly's eyes continued to flicker and her expression deepened a bit, her arms squriming and her legs kicking. This sleep wasn't restful, there was no getting around it and if it wasn't for the medication she probably would of woken up. The silence of the room and the soft shifting of the bedsheets with her in it wasn't too much of a surprise considering. The stress of the week... the grief, her ma... There was a plethora of things that could of been wrong.
Those ten minutes passed and there was a soft mewling from the meicoomon, her trying to curl up to make herself as small as possible as her body still more or less forced her to sleep. It would be a long night for her, one that the mikemon had indeed coerced her into accepting.
"N-no..."
But no miracle would likely come. As much as a gift as she was, there were still prices to pay for everything. What could the mikemon do to alleviate her pain?

Ouch.
It was definitely hard for K to come to terms with what she did - remembering it with such vivid detail, even if she was controlled. And by the sounds of it, it didn't seem like everyone had forgiven her for the incident either. Ever since she knew her mother, Dio seemed oddly distant to the fox - and had she ever seen the others in that fight ever again? It seemed that this regret had quite the effect on K.
Though the Renamon thought it wasn't the best thing to discuss near the tree, when her mom pulled out her portal device, Syre shook her head. She gave a smile, and patted the seat next to her.
"Honestly, mom, there's one more thing I want to learn from you here. Just... show me how to meditate." It seemed that K might have needed a bit of it herself. What could be done?
Mikemon didn't know. For all his medical knowledge, all he could do was guess at Holly's symptoms and make a plan going forward - definitely better than nothing, but to know that his daughter was going to have to go through such hardship didn't sit right with him.
It didn't take long for him to pull out a few books on medicine: compounds that were more effective in Meicoomon patients, what certain types of dreams meant, the whole nine yards. What could Mikemon do? He didn't know yet.
But he was going to do everything he could for her.

K never forgave herself for the few weeks she spent under the influence of that mon. She felt it in her core that he had affected her, even if she didn't want to. More callous, less accepting of failure, some irritable moments over things that she should of just brushed off. Vanity was something she remembered being a problem for a bit, not of herself but of others. Was that vanity? She wasn't sure. K grit her teeth, her student was distant, her friends somewhat. The others may not of ever forgave her but if anything she wanted to forgive herself for the misstep... but couldn't.
K paused and blinked a bit as her daughter asked her to do something with her that the renamon thought none of her children would. She'd take a moment and then sit next to her daughter, though she took a more comfortable long term sitting pose. Legs crossed, arms resting lightly on them and her cloak curled around her shoulders a bit more as she... well she did after all spend a long time doing so so it was just second nature at this point.
"well it's actually... kind of easy. Here let me show you... It's easier to do in a form you're naturally comfortable with, long term exertions are a bad idea for it... In that one I'd suggest taking a pose like this..."
K would explain the actual nitpicks of the meditation, comfort of the pose, what to do about weather, the whole nine yards. She'd eventually get to the part about how to actually start meditating though.
"...Just close your eyes, clear out your mind. Your thoughts, your dreams, your emotions. Pull everything close to you, weave it into a tapestry if you must. Things that stick out, things that don't feel right, they step up to you. Those are the things you need to address. Meditation can be about clearing your mind, but it also can be about clearing things you didn't know were a problem for you, or addressing things that you don't understand about yourself. Ultimately, you have to dull your senses, your reactions. A place should be safe."
And she would guide her daughter gently to the right path of meditation. But under this tree if they meditated they'd feel a third party watching the both of them, just behind them. Well not so much watching them as a presence that wrapped around them like a blanket and cared for the both of them deeply...
Holly's dream was that of nightmare.
Her assassinations had been a pleasant bump in it but she dreamt of the loss of control she'd experience up and up in the form of super mega. Raging through the streets, blasting those aside. Screaming out in tongues she didn't know. Shattered orbs floating around her like saturn's ring.
It was a monster, and it kept happening. The bonfire was a distant memory and this just stretched in front of her. She was afraid of her own power, afraid of her own progress, she could see herself trying to stop herself. She could see everything. There was a clear line of sight to everything terrible she had done, there was a clear line to every person she had wronged.
Her signal on the other hand in the 'real' would shift and shake. Pinging highly and 'resonating' as mega, in the midst of going to that final stage but never quite reaching it before dying back down. The meicoomon tossed and turned, shivering, shaking and weeping in her sleep. Eventually she'd wake up with a startled shout, falling out of her bed as even the medication couldn't keep her down for longer than a few hours.
She was panting, gripping at her head as the world was spinning. She felt like she was going to throw up, everything hurt and she could feel that she was dizzy. Jade was there in a state of panic, trying to help her but she'd swat at the orbs, mumbling for them to leave her alone....

Kind of easy?
Somehow, Syre doubted that, but it didn't take her long to reach some of the basics. Watching the Renamon and listening to her instruction, she managed to find that proper sitting pose, gently resting her palms across her knees, eventually finding that comfortable point that her mom was talking about. The next parts, though, were only explained vaguely.
'Clear out your mind'. Well, that was easier said than done in a week like this, but Syre was the one who brought it up, so she'd try: listening to her instruction in full, the cat found it somewhat interesting. To throw the thoughts away, she first had to tie them close? Or was the cat supposed to simply be alone with her basic thoughts? Ugh, how did people meditate without thinking of how to meditate?
... Ugh, excuses! "I'll, um... give it a shot." She chuckled, a bit overwhelmed by the explanation, but with a deep breath, she'd close her eyes, and try to focus to not focus - which ended up making her scrunch her face initially, just trying to get down to earth. Between Holly, the studies, and everything happening with mom, there was a lot to work through... A shout.
Just a few hours after Mikemon left Holly alone, he heard it: the sound of the Meicoomon crying out in sickly pain, unable to even get more than four hours of sleep before it became sheer agony to her. Closing his books, the dad bolted right back on up to her room, and with a knock, he'd click it open - to see her daughter gasping for breath, coughing, dizzy, in duress. The exact opposite of a well-rested cat.
He grit his teeth, and approached, carefully resting a palm right on Holly's back. "I'm here. I'm here. Take a breath, count up to five for me." He wanted to apologize, but he couldn't - his daughter desperately needed even the small amount of sleep that she got.

K knew it was hard for some, hopefully that wouldn't be the case for her daughter. She knew that it was kind of difficult for some to explain how to meditate to others but she didn't have that issue. The problem be however was just getting started. She'd rub her head a little bit and manage a small smile to her daughter, reaching out to pat the top of the blackgatomon's head.
"It takes practice and time, it's okay if you don't get it right away dear."
K of course was well practiced and was able to slip into it rather easily. Given the fact that her cloak was also trying to comfort her daughter probably didn't help the fact.
Her thoughts were jumbled and she had to slowly sort through things. That and the small tint of silence watching over her didn't help. She was always there, always watching, learning and the omegashutmon wanted to interact with someone that was so important to K but... as they were it wouldn't be wise for her to even try to.
Just that shout brought her da into the room, she was gasping for breath yes, dizzy and trying to get to the trash. She didn't really manage to get more than a few agonizing inches before her Da was there. Putting that hand on her back, the meicoomon falling flat on the floor as it felt like an anvil on it. She let out a soft whine as he told her that he was here. Telling her to breath, she gulped in breathes as they came but that maded the world swim. She'd try to count, her voice staggering out.
"O..One... T-t.... Two..."
The meicoomon's face bunched up and she motioned for the garbage bin, if given it she'd shove her face into it and well. It wasn't sunshine and rainbows that came out, it was whatever last meal they had... and some of that purple medicine. She'd be at that for the better part of ten or so minutes before it was just empty gagging and dry heaving.
"I... don't wanna dre-dream like that... I don't wanna hurt people... P-please... Just... m-make it stop..."
The meicoomon whined into the bin, another pulse of dry heaves and the meicoomon wasn't able to really do anything after that. Lamely laying against the bin. Her ma helped calm her, her da helped console her. They both were helpful in their own rights and holly was extremely grateful for it...
Honestly if she had been born to any other parents would they of been able to handle her? Or the things she got into? She didn't know and didn't want to know but.. That wasn't the time or place. The meicoomon gripped at the side of the garbage bin and slowly tried to pull herself up, which did not really work all too well since her legs were like jello
"D-da...."

"Heh, I figured..."
Syre didn't open her eyes, but her ears did flick as K's hand patted the top of her head. The cat was nowhere near practiced - but even so, it was nice to be able to sit back and relax in a place like this, alone with her thoughts, and just take it all in. Of course, there was a lot on her plate, and just trying to sit and focus on it all only compounded onto it. Trying to think of how to meditate, on top of everything else... ugh.
It took her about ten minutes before she shifted positions. Instead of sitting or closing her eyes, the cat pushed herself a small distance away, rested her hands behind her head and lied on her back, looking up towards those soft, glowing leaves and the wispy canopy above.
Less than two days... Syre gave a sigh, closing her eyes again, just trying to focus. It was clear that Holly needed more help than just being told to get more sleep.
She'd be given that bin, and given careful rubs at her back and shoulder to help ease her along. Mikemon wouldn't try and make her go back to sleep immediately, of course - the girl was far too distraught to manage something like that. So he'd just let her get it all out, heaving into that bucket before dry heaving for several minutes, those words choked out in agony.
"... I might have an idea. And I'll try to get it done by this evening."
As that panicked dry heaving started to calm down, Mikemon would offer her a bottle of water - and instruct her to take it slow. "Apparently... at least part of the source of your dreams is coming from interfering data. Jade is an aspect of your personality, amplified and personified - and if I had to guess, that's activating a part of your psyche, causing it to be more active than it should be. Well, there's that - it can also receive and store other signals, which seems to be invading your subconscious."
He'd done a lot of reading in those few hours. But the answer wasn't to get rid of Jade.
"So I'll cut a different gem - one not tied to your data in particular. All I'll make it do is interfere with other data signals. It might take me a few tries, but... trust me with it, alright?"

"I know the first few days were rough for me... heh."
K chuckled lightly and the renamon eased into a meditative state again. It was as easy as breathing for her, it came and went and she was able to somewhat address her issues, slowly but surely. Her signal remained constant, if not completely unnoticed considering she was 'less' than the tree that was wrapping around them at the moment.
K however didn't notice the sigh, didn't notice that her daughter had stopped meditating for the little bit. The glowing leaves and the wispy canopy seemed to recognize that syre was looking at them, the data trails curled and flowed around the fox's daughter before going on their way.
Two days.
It was a fact that no one could miss, it was a fact that plagued K's mind and it was something so overbearing to the family as a whole. The void that was going to be left after she was gone was.... well going to be massive. K had a hard time getting around with that and after a little bit she'd open her own eyes, rubbing at the bridge of her nose with two fingers.
"Tch..."
Holly was grateful for the attention that her Da was giving her, the advice and problem solving that he had in comparison to her. She'd manage to just lean against that bin, her eyes screwing shut in an effort to stop the dizziness. She flicked her ears and looked up at him, the bags under her eyes and the soft whining breathes that came only were stopped when he passed her a bottle of water. She'd take it slow, though it was still just a wee bit faster than normal. Thankfully it didn't come back up.
She'd listen to the explanation that her Da gave. The source being from interfering data; Jade was affecting her because of the personality, the amplification and personification. It was making her more active in her subconscious state and that was what was invading her dreams. She'd flick her ears and was going to speak up, how she didn't want to get rid of her friend.
But then mikemon continued, how he'd cut out a different gem. One not tied to her data, make it interfere with other data signals. She'd slowly nod her head and lean back a bit, holding onto that bin for the most part and exhaling slowly, she felt like absolute garbage...
"...W-what do I do now...? I feel awful..."

Though Syre changed position, she hadn't given up on trying to meditate. No, she was just slipping into a more comfortable position - one where she was more comfortable trying to ponder and think, feeling that soft, warm jungle floor against her back as she looked up into that comforting light. Realistically, Syre knew that she wasn't going to get much headway today, but she still wanted to take this moment to relax.
The minutes would pass by. The sun would slowly move across the sky - and with a flick of her ear, after a few hours, Syre would hear her mother's frustration. Indeed, that looming realization was heavy on every single one of them...
... But at hearing that, Syre still managed a smile. "... All of us are going to miss you. We're going to cry and be sad. And I know you've been trying to comfort us about it all this time, but..."
She sat up, and turned to face the fox. "You should know that I'm here for you too, mom." Of course Holly felt awful - but at this point, Mikemon gave a smile. He wrapped a blanked around Holly's back, led her downstairs, and put her right down on the couch, giving her a chilled waterbottle after a few minutes.
"Its alright. Just let me borrow Jade for a couple hours - I'll leave you to the TV or some books... or I can probably borrow Carlos' Game Boy?" Either way, the cat and the orb would slip away into his office - and then out back, working out a few different solutions. Just as in the forest, the sun would travel across the sky, and eventually, maybe Holly would start to feel that 'blah' feeling wear off. And - eventually - the doctor would make his way back inside, hands covered in rock dust, as he finally came back with the result. He showed it to the Meicoomon:
A simple metal chain, fastened like a bracelet, with a purple amethyst set right at the top. It wasn't a sphere - no, it was a more proper gem cut, meant to disrupt data rather than focus it. "Let's see if this one fits, hun."

Perhaps K's position wasn't the best for her daughter, as they were built differently than her. It didn't much matter what position you meditated in, it didn't much matter how you did it either just that you did. It was okay if syre didn't make much in headway, after all K had said that it would take her a bit to do so.
K's ears flicked a bit and she'd stare down at her daughter as she spoke. How they would miss her, how they'd cry and be sad. She'd feel her core practically be strangled by sadness and there was an honest sadness that crept on her face. Her daughter sitting up and turning to face her. How she was here for her too, her little syre had grown up to be a marvelous digimon right under her nose and proven it time n time again...
K stayed largely silent for a few moments and then she'd close her eyes with an earnest sigh. There was an amused chuckle that seeped into her voice as she spoke yet again, her eyes opening slightly to stare at her child.
"It's just like me to worry about others more than myself heh. I always have a problem letting myself be comforted of all people. I'm glad you are here syre."
The renamon would hold out her arms as though asking for another hug, somewhat in terms if syre accepted she'd not only feel the warmth from the tree but K's own warmth. Though it was a touch 'chilly' considering that she was always much lower in terms of temperature.
"You all meant the world to me, and it pains me to know that I have to leave. I know that you'll be sad, cry and all of that but that doesn't stop my want to help. My pain will end, but you all will have to live with whatever I leave behind."
She was thankful for that blanket, thankful for that water. Softly nursing the drink, it helped with the latent acids in her throat. She'd flick her ears and jade would float after the two of them. That golden glow was gone 'opal' did say that after all she could only do it once or twice. But jade as a whole seemed okay with the idea of being borrowed by their grandfather of all things.
"Some TV would probably be the best... I'm not... in the very readish or play stuff mood... Never been much of a fan of the video games sadly..."
To be fair she didn't watch TV much either, the few bits she did was always laced with confusion as she had a hard time sitting around and watching someone else do something like that.
It would be hours, eventually that bleh feeling did wear off. Just after she finished her water really. Though once the doctor came into the living space the meicoomon had spaced out pretty hard and actually jumped a bit when her Da showed up with a bracelet, a purple amethyst set right into the top. She'd tilt her head lightly and extend her arm; as though giving permission for her Da to put it on her.
"...It's rather pretty."
It'd fit rather well considering everything, mikemon and his daughter had a very similar build though her fur was a touch more thick than his. So of course it'd press in just a little bit more but after fidgeting around with it that was less a problem.
The effects were pretty immediate and holly found herself shifting in the couch, her signal, jade's signal and the 'pulsing' stopped in their entirety. The meicoomon falling over on the couch with a relieved sigh as sleep did it's dastardly best to claim her again...

Perhaps it wasn't what K wanted to hear, but it was what she needed to hear. Syre thought something along those lines, seeing that long sigh and a deep inner thought run through her mother's head - and all the while, Syre kept her own smile. She returned another one of her mom's hugs, feeling the kind of warmth that she could only get from her mother's arms.
"Don't worry. You aren't leaving anything negative behind - you have a legacy that people will want to live up to. Not just with your family, but with the Knights as well." At that, she gave a chuckle. "Though, you might have to tell me how to get a little bit better at sparring Iko - I could never give him the workout that you seemed to get out of him!"
That turned to a laugh, the BlackGatomon simply letting the moment roll out - before feeling a chill in the air, the sun starting to set across the other side of the sky. Considering everything, even their meditative period, it was getting kind of late. "Should we get back?" "Well, let Stingmon know if you need anything."
Simple enough - Holly would be left to recover, while Mikemon and Jade set out to work. He needed that gem to know that he was deflecting the signal properly, and once Jade wasn't able to get a proper scan of the jewel - or even the cat holding the jewel - he knew it was ready for Holly's use. It fit comfortably enough around her arm, though as she remarked on its appearance, Mikemon gave a smirk.
"You think? Your sister's never been one for these kinds of gifts." But it really wasn't meant to be seen - Holly would find that it would fit comfortably under her gauntlet, without interfering with the tool's usefulness. And with that, she'd almost lull off to sleep immediately - Mikemon fluffing a throw pillow for her to use, softly humming K's lullaby.
"I'm not going to tell you to enjoy it - but give it your best, Holly."

It was something she did need to hear.
That much was true and she was grateful if anything that her daughter was able to recognize that sort of thing. She'd gingerly rub at her daughter's ear after the hug ended. The renamon mulled over the fact that she was leaving behind a legacy.... A legacy for her children and a legacy for the knights to follow. It pained her to know that she wouldn't be able to lead either forward after this. They instead would be hoping to do right by her...
"A legacy. Something I never thought I'd have heh... Oh with him? Well really the trick to it is just to go further than you went last time, our spars really get out of hand I tell you."
It was a good thing they didn't practice in their higher forms, after all they'd probably destroy vander tower at that rate! The renamon chuckled lightly and stood up after a bit, stretching slowly and she'd watch the sun start to set.
"I think we should; I could make something for us all to eat... and maybe we can watch another movie or play a game."
"Y-yes Da...."
She of course would actually need him for another water bottle in fact, she felt so bad for bothering the bug for something so simple but given the fact she wasn't able to really stand on her own with her legs still feeling like jello... Well. He'd probably understand.
Jade on the other hand was hugely frustrated with the inability to scan the object that mikemon had worked on. In fact it struggled to scan even the cat after a bit of work! The orb bounced a bit and was for the most part frankly annoyed at the efficiency of it's grandfather. It wasn't aware that they were so good at this sort of thing! It would of asked more questions of him if they had known!
"Well... I'm not Syre and she's not me! I wouldn't wear a bunch of them but little things are nice hehe..."
She was glad that she was able to wear it without much of an issue. The meicoomon already out cold by the time that her da told her to give it her best. She couldn't really give her best at sleeping, at least not in this state. But she would sleep well that was for sure! Even though Jade left one of it's orbs by her juuuust in case she needed anything from them... that and to keep an eye on her as they could no longer scan them.

"Sheesh, go further than I did before, huh? I dunno if he's stronger than you, but he certainly seems to get the better of you a lot..."
Oof. Syre briefly joined in that chuckle, taking her mother's advice to heart. Maybe there was a way to get around that wall, but for now, it was time to head back. Pulling out her portal device, she set it to put them right out into the living area. But the moment they stepped through, they'd be met with Mikemon, tending over to Holly at the living room's couch.
Before either of them could speak, Mikemon would give a smile, and touch a finger to his lips - a signal for both of them to stay quiet. He gave a light pat over Holly's head, pulling up a sheet over their shoulders, before leading them off into the next room over, the doctor letting out a relieved sigh.
"This took all day. Neither of you should try and disturb her now - she's going to get her first eight hour night in a long time." He gave a laugh - as Syre gave a sigh, shaking her head.
"Dad, it's Holly. Whether or not you figure something out, she's still going to waste half her nights in her books..."
"Eh... eheh... I guess so..."
