Demi was happily holding Hawk's hand as they ventured inside the underground city. There were a lot of distractions for the little Digimon which seemed to be pretty good to his morale even though it was hard to tell if he was genuinely happy or not. His eyes would move side to side looking at all oh those panels lights. "Woah!" He said while pulling his best friend's hand as if he didn't already have his attention. "Look! Look!" Normally he would have pointed it but he didn't have his left arm to do so. The fireball looked to his side for a moment seemingly confused. But it only lasted a second as he began smiling again. "Did you see this one?" He then asked as he looked at the bird Digimon. "Poke it!"
"Yeah... Might be wise to get Demi here if we are going to fix his arm..." The blond tamer looked behind them for a moment before sighing. "Well, I guess we are going to need to get them sooner or later..." What he didn't like was to be separated from his girlfriend. After what happening yesterday, it was hard for him to be alone. While he didn't need her to be here by his side all the time, it was helping him stay sane. Taking a deep breath, Desmond bit his lower lips and turned his attention to Sam. "I'll go see the Datamon. They said that it would be in that direction... I go ahead and try to negotiate with it..." After saying that he moved to be in front of the brunette and gave her a hug. "Be safe, okay?" He whispered in her ear before letting go. "I'll do the same."
With that done, the Frenchman waited for Sam to get a bit further away before turning around. "Come on, Desmond, she will be fine..." He said to himself. "They are going to be fine..." The tamer made small steps at first. While not claustrophobic, he didn't really enjoy being in here. He couldn't help but to not so subtly move his head to take a peak for anything that could move and potentially kill him. That was the other flaw in his plan. If anything goes wrong, he does not have Demi, Hawk, or Sam to protect him. He really should have waited a bit before getting in here.
It would take him a very long time moving that slowly to reach some kind of a metallic hut with a tough-looking Giromon in front of it. The Digimon with the chainsaw did not look friendly, not one bit. He had that evil smile and he was pretty sure that he wouldn't hesitate to use that weapon of his. Desmond shivered at the thought of getting saw in two. The human and Digimon just stood face to face about two meters away not doing or saying anything. When the blond tamer opened his mouth, the Giromon lifted his chainsaw making him close it immediately. Clearly, the Giromon was making fun of him.
After maybe thirty seconds of trying to speak, Desmond closed his eyes and yelled. "I come to see Datamon!" He said maybe a bit too loud. However, nothing happened. The Giromon was still there with his evil grin. "Please?" The human was sure that he was going to die right here. He took a step back, ready to turn around and run for his life. "Sure." The Digimon simply said. "Erm..." He certainly did not expect that. "You mean, I can go in?" The Giromon laughed and floated to his left. "Sure, go in." Making very small steps, the Frenchman slowly made his way into the hut and as soon as he got close enough, he was almost blinded by how bright the inside was.
"Datamon?" He said the name hoping for a yes. "What!?" The loud voice made Desmond jump a bit. "Erm..." As his eyes adjusted to the light, he saw a rather clean looking Datamon. "I'm Desmond..." He began speaking just to get yelled back. "I don't care who you are!" The tamer felt very small. "What do you want!?" In most cases, he wouldn't have been quite mad at him being rude like that but this Digimon could be his only chance at fixing Demi's arm. "I got that DemiMeramon who lost his left arm... So I need an arm..."
"Don't care, get out of here!" This time Desmond got a bit more angry than scared. "I got bits..." He heard a very heavy sigh coming from the machine Digimon. "I do not care at all about your stupid bits!" The tamer opened his mouth trying to figure something to bargain with. "I... Got a device that can play music and make phone calls..." A loud sound of exasperation was heard from the Datamon. "I know what a cellphone is and I do not care about it!"
This was going to be a long negotiation.

Demi was all smile when Hawk agreed on poking the panel next to them. His big blues were full of joy and wonder as his best friend was barely about to touch the solar panel. And then, they both heard a voice that stopped them from moving. The Kokuwamon did not looked or sound happy at all. At first, the fireball just tilted on one side clearly confused. He just couldn't understand why they weren't allowed to touch it. Looking at Hawk for a moment and then back to the machine-like Digimon, Demi became upset suddenly. He did not enjoy how that Kokuwamon yelled at his best buddy. Making an angry face, the DemiMeramon began floating to be next to Hawk, and with his best scary voice, he began speaking.
"Hey!" He yelled out loud. "Don't talk to Hawk like that!" It was about now Demi was clearly not amused anymore. "I am not scared of you!" What he didn't understand that he might be causing more trouble than needed but it didn't seem like he noticed that. Floating to be next to the solar panel, Demi lifted his right hand into the air. He kept eye contact with the Kokuwamon as his finger slowly made its way to touch the panel. He would stop about an inch before and then make a tiny poke on it and then going back at trying to look angry.
Meanwhile, Desmond was still trying to make a deal with the Datamon, the very very angry Datamon. What else could he offer to the machine Digimon, he had no clue. "Sir..." The blond tamer tried to stay calm but he was rudely stopped by a very exaggerated sigh. "Why are you still here!?" The Digimon lashed at the human. "Go away!" Desmond took a deep breath and sighed heavily. "Look..." There was a hint of anger in his voice. "All I need is..." The Datamon lifted his arms into the air and made a loud metallic sound. It sounded like he was very annoyed. "I don't care about what you need! You are wasting both of our time! You are wasting my time!"
The Frenchman facepalmed in regret. "Please..." As he said that word, he saw the Digimon lifted a small wrench and throw it in his general direction. The tamer ducked to avoid the wrench and stayed in that position for a few seconds afraid that the Datamon would throw him another tool. "Go away!" Picking up a screwdriver, he threw it at the human but this time, Desmond caught the screwdriver with his left hand. The machine Digimon looked surprised for a moment. "Can we talk, please?" The tamer quickly asked seeing that he looked ready to talk right now. "I got a friend, he's a DemiMeramon, he lost an arm and needs help."
"Still don't care." The Datamon said much calmer. "Now give me back my screwdriver!" And back with the yelling. "Wait!" Desmond swiftly said as he carefully placed the screwdriver on the ground. "What do you want in exchange?" Another exaggerated sigh came out of the Digimon's mouth. "Nothing you can offer! Now, go away!" The Frenchman was getting a bit aggressive now as well. "Look, I won't go until you fix my friend." He tried to sound like he was in control of this situation, which he was not. "I can work for you, I can clean the whole place with a toothbrush if needed."
For a moment, the machine Digimon looked like he was willing to listen. Humans are weaker than Digimon but he could use a slave. "Fine, start picking up that screwdriver." Desmond took a deep breath and as he bent forward to grab the tool off the ground, his Digivice fell off his pocket and that caught Datatmon's attention. "What's this?" He said a bit too loud. The blond tamer quickly reached out for his little device and straightened up. "It's... My Digivice.." The Datamon began making his way toward the human and with a swift movement, tried to grab the Digivice off Desmond's hand. "Hey, wait..."
"Gimme that!" Desmond took a few steps back and held on to his Digivice tightly. "No..." He slowly said while shaking his head. "I can't give that to you..." If the angry Digimon was bigger, he would have tried to wrestle it out of the tamer's hands but he was too small to reach his hands. "Gimme that! Give it to me and I'll fix your friend." The Frenchman was about to say no again but he stopped before making a sound. "You are going to fix my friend for this?" He asked with a bit of curiosity. "Yes! Now give it to me!"
That was a hard bargain. He had no clue if giving his Digivice was a good idea. But then, if that was what it takes for Demi to have his arm back, maybe it was worth it. "I... Need a moment to think..." Desmond felt that deep down, he should give him the Digivice but maybe he could try to trade something else. Taking another step back, he hit a table with his legs and stopped moving as the Datamon extended his hand toward him. "Just give it to me already!" Desmond took a deep breath and looked at the green and brown device. It is worth it, right?
"Just... Give me a minute." Desmond said before storming outside. He really wished that Sam and their partners were with him right now.

Desmond was still undecided when he heard footsteps coming from behind him. With his Digivice in hand, he tamer didn't know what to do with it. He lazily turned around to meet Sam and their partners with a grim expression. He didn't say anything at first, he just looked at his girlfriend for a moment before looking at the two Digimon. Demi was hiding behind Sam's legs feeling guilty of making trouble for Hawk. The fireball would nervously look away from his tamer preferring to just look at his best friend. Maybe he should keep that as a secret. He kept looking at Hawk to see if he would tell Desmond about their little fight. After trying to be brave back then, maybe he shouldn't try to be too brave.
The Frenchman didn't even notice how nervous his partner looked like. His eyes were glued to his Digivice. After an awkward silence, Desmond sighed and began speaking. "Hey..." He said trying to sound confident. "Glad you found them, they look..." It was then that he saw Demi hiding behind Sam. The Digimon wouldn't look at his tamer feeling guilty. Desmond knew that something was wrong but decided that maybe he shouldn't ask too many questions right now. "Alright..." He then shifted his attention to Hawk for a second before going back to the brunette.
"I got good news..." Desmond slowly said. "I found the Datamon." Unfortunately, he didn't sound very happy saying that. "He says that he can fix... I mean, not that you are broken or anything..." He wasn't sure how to tell Demi that he was indeed missing an arm that would never grow back. But maybe it was time to confront him and tell the Digimon the truth. He took a deep breath and crouched down. "Come Demi." The fireball looked confused for a second, his tamer didn't look angry at all. In fact, he looked sad. The Digimon slowly floated away from Sam and made his way toward Desmond.
Placing a hand on the DemiMeramon's head, the blond tamer sighed and took a deep breath. "Your left arm... It's gone and won't come back." Saying that was more difficult than he first thought it would be. Demi gave him a confused look and opened his mouth to speak. However, he did not say any words and looked at the ground with a sadden expression. It didn't take long for the Digimon to start crying. Desmond hugged his partner and held on for a moment. "It's okay, Demi. It's okay." He whispered. After a few seconds, the Frenchman pulled away from the hug to look at Demi. "Look at me." He softly said. "There's a way to fix it."
The fireball stopped crying but there were still tears in his eyes as Desmond smiled. "There's a Datamon in this tent that can make you a new arm." Desmond took a quick pause to wipe the remaining tears from his big blue eyes. "I don't know what will happen but I need you to be brave and strong." Demi nodded a few times before turning around to look at Sam and Hawk. "We will be there, don't worry, okay?" The blond human would say before giving another soft pat on the Digimon's head.
Now, Desmond was sure that trading his Digivice for Demi to be whole again was completely worth it. Still, he would stand up and left Demi off the ground and go toward his girlfriend. He felt that he should tell her that he was going to trade his Digivice away. He took a moment to think before crouching and putting Demi back on the ground. "Could... Hawk and you go a bit further away for a moment? I need to talk to Sam..." The fireball was confused for a moment but would go toward Hawk to grab his hand and wait to see if Hawk would go away for a bit.
After making sure that they wouldn't be able to hear them correctly, Desmond began whispering. "I tried to argue with Datamon..." He softly whispered. "He doesn't want anything from me..." Taking a quick pause to sigh, the tamer nervously looked at the Digimon before moving closer to the girl. "The only thing he took interest in is my Digivice." He said before pausing again. "I don't see any other options but to give it to him... I don't know what will happen if I don't have it anymore but... If it can fix Demi's missing arm... I think I should do it..."
"I wish there were another option... But I don't see any... I'm doing the right thing, right?" Desmond wasn't sure if he wanted to hear a yes or a no from Sam. Maybe because he was very scared of what could happen if Datamon fixed Demi's arm, if he even can do it in the first place. But it was a risk worth taking... Right?"

Demi was holding Hawk's hand but couldn't help but to look behind at their tamers as they entered the Datamon's hut. The fireball was nervous just looking around before seeing the Datamon. The machine Digimon didn't look very happy at first glance. In fact, he looked quite annoyed and it made Demi hide behind Hawk. "He looks angry." He whispered to his best buddy. The Datamon squinted his eyes as if he heard the child Digimon but didn't say anything. Demi has gone from being nervous to being scared of the little machine Digimon. "I don't like him." He whispered even lower. "He's scary."
Back outside, Desmond looked at the ground next to him as Sam told him that Demi was more important than a Digivice. She was right, it was only a silly device compared to what Demi would gain. He wasn't sure what to say though knowing that there wasn't much to say anyway. His left hand slowly went to grab her hand but the human was still looking at the ground. His fingers went to interlock with hers after him moving a bit closer. "You're right." He simply said with a bit of sadness. "It's just a stupid device." It would take him a bit longer before using his right hand to touch the girl's chin and gently move her head so that they would be eye to eye.
He just looked at her eyes for a moment before smiling shyly. "I hope Demi won't mind not being able to Digivolve though." He tried to say casually and relaxed. The blond tamer tried to laugh but it came out a bit forced. "Well, better not make them wait too long..." After saying that, he lowered his head so that their heads would be touching and he closed his eyes after taking a deep breath. "Thanks for being here." He then whispered with his eyes closed. "Alright, time to get Demi a new arm." Desmond would say before smiling and moving toward the hut. He would hold on to her hand hoping that she would let him hold it.
As the tamer got in, he saw how Demi was trying to hide behind Hawk. Poor thing didn't even notice that Desmond and Sam went inside. To be honest, it was kind of funny. Desmond would have laughed but he quickly saw how the Datamon looked annoyed. There was something about those mechanical eyes that made him feel uneasy. None the less, he let go of his girlfriend's hand and took out his Digivice making the Datamon grin upon seeing the small device. "You..."
"Just give it to me already!" The Digimon shouted making Desmond flinch for a second. "But you will..." The machine Digimon threw his arms into the air. "Arg! Yes, I will fix his arm! The Digivice! Now!" His loud voice made Desmond slightly angry but he knew that he wasn't going to win this verbal battle so he might as well give it to him. The Frenchman got closer and extended his arm toward the small Digimon who snatched the device out of his hand. A smile appeared on his face as his fingers ran around the Digivice with glee. "This is so interesting!"
"The arm..." Desmond slowly said as if he was afraid to distract the Datamon. "Arg! Fine, come here!" Demi looked at Desmond for a second before switching to Sam and then Hawk. It was very easy to see that he was uncomfortable. The blond tamer crouched down and placed a hand on the fireball's head. "It will be alright, Demi." He said in a fatherly voice. "We're all here with you." The DemiMeramon nodded and began making his way toward the machine Digimon while still holding Hawk's hand. Stopping one last time to look at Hawk, he slowly let go and got in front of the Datamon still very scared of what would happen next. "Remove that stupid sticker."
Demi obeyed and quickly ripped the sticker off his side exposed a light spot where his arm was supposed to be. The greedy Datamon would take a rather bulky microchip and without warning, slapped it into Demi's left side. The chip gripped itself on the fireball and it began morphing into tentacles making Demi cry a little. The tentacles would then fuse into a small metallic arm that would transform into the size of his other arm. The arm would then catch on fire and looked like his original arm. Demi began moving the arm. It didn't feel exactly normal but he could feel the air around it. He slowly looked at Desmond still a bit shocked at what just happened.
"Done! Now go away!" The Datamon shouted before turning his back to them while holding the device. Desmond opened his mouth to say thanks but before he could say a word, the Digimon shouted at them once more. "Just go away!" The tamer sighed and signaled Demi to come with him. "Come, Demi." He half-whispered. "Let's get out of here." The fireball and his new arm nodded and quickly made his way out of the hut and took a deep breath.
Desmond would wait for a moment as Demi moved his new arm around. "How does it feel?" He slowly asked. To this, Demi shrugged. "I don't know?" It did feel heavier but he was getting used to it. The Digimon went toward Hawk and gently poked him with his new arm. "I can... I can feel you!" He shouted suddenly very happy. "I can feel you!" Well, that proved that Datamon did fix him up. It was worth giving him the Digivice after all. The Frenchman smiled and looked at Sam. "Well, let's go..." He was going to say home but he realized that they can't use his Digivice to make a portal home now. They would have to fly to Terminal City and just thinking about flying made him shiver.
"How about we go... Eat?"
