Alignment: Neutral, with good leanings
Birth Date: August 23rd

Bilingual: Having been raised in America, Coop speaks fluent in English. His Japanese is passable, although he's less proficient in it.

Detailed Note-taker: Coop likes taking notes about nearly everything he observes, as well as any thought or idea that pops into his head. He scribbles them down haphazardly and, as a result, his notes are a convoluted mess, but somehow he's able to find everything without issue.

Personality: If Coop could be summed up in a single word, it would be "laid-back". He doesn't have particularly strong feelings about most things, and tends to go along with the flow when with others. Whether it's choosing what to eat, where to go, or what to do, he leaves all decision making to everyone else. That isn't to say the man is a complete pushover -- if given a truly unreasonable request, or attempted to be coerced/forced to do something, he'll put his foot. He just likes to make others happy, especially when there's no real loss to himself.
He's always looking to learn more and, while he does enjoy reading, values first-hand experience above all else. Coop tries new things whenever he gets the chance, and involves himself in them as much as possible. However, conflict is something he prefers to avoid. He keeps to himself in that regard, focusing on whatever's taken his interest at the moment.
Interacting with others is an interesting thing for Coop. He doesn't go out of his way to talk to others, but if they should approach him he's quite friendly and easy to talk to. He's a better listener than he is a talker and gets along with most everybody. Rarely does he get into arguments, and even rarer still does he raise his voice. He's practiced at keeping his cool, even if he does get angry.
Appearance: Standing at 5'11" and weighing around 160 lbs, Coop's features are pretty unremarkable. His short, black hair (styled in a crew cut) and his dark brown eyes do little in the way of standing out as well. He has a round face, which he keeps clean-shaven, and his skin's a light tan. The only thing that might catch another's eye is the tattoo on the inside of his lower arm -- a small, black circle depicting a gust of wind.
Coop's outfits are relatively simple, usually consisting dark grey shorts, mismatched socks and blue sneakers, and some sort of long-sleeve shirt. He keeps his sleeves rolled up for comfort (and, truth be told, for easier viewing of his tattoo). Sometimes, when he doesn't feel like fixing his hair, he'll also sport a grey baseball cap. On his left wrist is an analog watch with a black leather strap. He wears prescription wayfarer glasses with a transparent green frames, although he forgets to put them on on occasion.
Coop has a bad habit of slouching; it's a habit he's aware of, and every so often one can catch him straightening his back. He's also been told that he looks like he's a mixture of angry and sad, despite not being either. The facial expression is probably a result of his being so focused on his thoughts.
Personal History: Kendon Cooper was born in the United States, but spent most of his time growing up abroad. His father was in the military, and as a result his family would move with each of his deployments. During one of those deployments, they lived in Japan, where he first learned to speak Japanese and first fell in love with the country. Despite living on an American base, his family spent their free time and vacations touring the country. Ultimately, it was these experiences that led him to choose to move there later in life.
He had three sisters, so even with having to move so often, Coop was never without friends. His bond with his siblings got him through some difficult times, including his parents. They all got along well despite each having very different personalities, and when they all came of age they got matching tattoos commemorating their relationship. Each one represented one of the four cardinal elements: earth, air, fire, water. Because of his carefree, easy-going nature, Coop's tattoo was based upon the wind.
He was a studious child, and did well in school, with his grades consisting of mostly A's and B's and the occasional C. By the time he graduated high school, he was among the top of his class. Unfortunately, he had no idea what he wanted to do beyond that. For two years, he went to college without deciding on a major. For his third, he decided to study abroad in hopes of gaining more experience and more clarity about his future. And, since he already was somewhat familiar with Japan and could speak a little Japanese, he thought there would be no better place for him to discover himself.
Coop still keeps up with his family, and calls his sister at least once every two weeks.
