The group had been walking a few days, heading back to a location they had visited many times in the past. The village of new beginnings.Leo had been friends with the Elecmon who had been in charge of guarding the place, and since it had been so long since they had been in the digital world, they had decided now was a good time to check in on an old friend.
A pathway leading through the forest was a bit of a surprise, knowing from experience the large wooded area was a good day's distance from the village, but the only digimon using it seemed to be of the rookie and champion levels. Josh waved to attract the attention of a passing Floramon. "Sorry to bother you, but this path leads to the village of new beginnings correct?" He asked politely. The floramon sniffed, seeming offended by being stopped, but also with a sly twinkle in her eye about being chosen to be asked. Josh had the distinct impression she was proud to be asked.
"Well, I suppose you can reach the village going this way, but the town of Rosewood is in the way. It's where regular rookies go after digivolving at the village. " She sniffed again. "I don't know why you'd want to go there, it's full of plain common digimon you know. Now if you don't mind, I'm rather busy." The floramon said dismissively before walking past the tamer and digimon.
Josh raised an eyebrow at Leo, who just shrugged as the voice of the floramon just reached their ears as she demanded a champion level carry her as she was far too ladylike to walk all this way, how rude. Josh was sincerely wondering if her name was Karen before sighing. "Well, it's on the way there, lets stop off at the town and see what's going on. Maybe Elecmon will be there?"

Kenny had done some research about Rosewood a few days before his trip there, mainly that it was constructed from the ground up to house wild Rookies coming in from the Village of Beginnings. A peaceful air wafted through the area as many Rookies just walked around the area. But there was the odd question to be asked; he knew that Skadi had come from the Digital World via trained and didn't even wait until digivolving to Rookie to go there.
Kenny and Skadi were just walking around for now, looking for something to do. Rosewood felt so small and cozy to them, and all the while, the young man was just taking down notes for KIZNA on his D-Nexus, something he could use to help the team to help them learn more about this place. And all the while, that same question just lingered in his head. He turned his head down to his partner and asked, "Hey Skadi, why didn't you just come here instead of going to the real world?"
The small sheep Digimon felt a little puzzled for a moment, before answering, "I don't know. I thought it would be a good idea to do so because I thought it was a good idea at the time. I mean, if you never came along, I think I would've been dead by now." She twiddled her thumbs a bit.
Kenny just smiled reassuringly, "Don't worry. If anything, I think I'd be dead if it weren't for you. Besides, we're partners, and look how far we've come. And at least you have someone to actually formulate with your ideas on, eh?" He grinned as he picked up his partner and ruffled her hair again, while she leaned in to cuddle her tamer.
"Fair point." Skadi giggled, nuzzling her partner on the cheek. After pulling away, she could hear footsteps coming into Rosewood, and so could Kenny. The young tamer put his partner down, as they looked ahead to the sound of the noise.
"Hey, I think we can hear some newcomers coming, Skadi." He told her, "Maybe we could help the adjust to their new life there?" He said, giving her a thumbs up.
"Sounds good to me!"

Josh adjusted the large rucksack on his back as he followed the new pathway through the trees. Though other walkers were rare, they were all coming from the direction of Rosewood. They had yet to see anyone heading towards the town.
"Hey Josh? I can hear something up ahead. Sounds like a group of rookies." Leo commented, those rabbit ears able to pick up a good deal of information. "I think I heard a human too." He said, digging a claw into his ear to try hear better before his ears did a quick listen around and he bounded over to the next tree.
The bearmon holding Josh's hand was looking a bit tired. "Can we take a break when we get there?" He groaned. "We've been walking hours..." Belph complained. The small bag on his back was mainly empty, the tamer carrying most of the gear for now until his digimon could reach their stronger forms again.
"Won't be much longer now Belph, and when we get there, we'll have a good long rest, ok?" The man said with a smile. He could make out some form of structure from between the trees and as they rounded the last few, there was a human digimon pair by the entrance.
"Hello there! Is this Rosewood town?" He'd call out, the small group making there way to join Skadi and Kenny.

As Kenny and Skadi looked ahead, the two saw a pair of Digimon approach the entrance. One was an Elecmon, not too dissimilar to Luke, and other being a black-furred, and tired looking, Bearmon. But any chances of these Digimon being fresh off the Village of Beginnings were quickly dashed by the appearance of a middle aged man with a goatee, and a jacket, holding the Bearmon's hand. The man called out to them, asking if this was Rosewood.
"Yes, this is Rosewood!" Kenny called back as the group approached them, the duo likewise. "You guys seem a little lost. Are you OK?" He asked them, eyeing the tired Bearmon. It was pretty easy to deduce that those Digimon were this guy's partners, seeing how he knew of the existence of twin tamers. But hey, people were people, and Kenny and Skadi, members of KIZNA, made it their daily mission to allow for strong relations between both humans and Digimon.
He raise a hand to shake with the middle aged man, "My name's Kenny, and that's my friend, Skadi!" As he introduced his partner, she happily waved at the trio and grinned. "It's really nice to meet you guys." He kept up his friendly demeanour with the man, to make him feel welcome in the small village.
He gestured to the badge on his uniform, "As you can see, we're part of KIZNA. We work to keep the peace of the Digital World, and ensure good relations between both worlds. If you need any help to get around Rosewood, don't be afraid to ask." He told them.
Meanwhile, Skadi piped up, trying to grab their attention, "Hey, you guys wanna grab a bite to eat? I'm kinda hungry right now." She added. Of course, it was excuse to essentially just hang out with them. The breeze was quite calm today, and the bright sun shone in the sky. Perfect weather to go and explore the village.

Leo Just shrugged, the Elecmon by far the bolder of the two digimon. "Not lost, just confused. Last time we went to the village of new beginnings, there was no buildings here, so we thought we'd check it out before carrying on." The elecmon explained as Josh lifted bearmon up onto a bench to rest before coming over to join the conversation.
"Nice to meet you both. I'm Josh, and this is Leo and Belph." Josh said politely, offering a handshake to the younger man. "Not too often I see another adult around here. Most people seem to vanish from the digital world after their teens." He commented, curious about what the reason was. "I took a break myself and only came back recently and I've only seen new digidestined around."
"Well, you've always been a weird tamer Josh" Leo snickered. The man ignored him and carried on.
"I can't say I've heard of KIZNA before, The only organization I recall doing that previously was DATS." He admitted, before the fluffy digimon mentioned food. "That sounds like a good idea. We're trekking over the digital world after a long absence, so I was thinking of staying the night so Belph could rest up. Feel up to trading some info while we eat?" The man said, adjusting his rucksack and motioning for Belph to join, which he did with a groan, though the mention of food had perked him up.

To the pair's relief, the Elecmon explained that the trio were merely lost. But to the pair's surprise (especially Kenny's), he seemed to refer it to the 'village of new beginnings'. As the man put the Bearmon onto a bench, Skadi started to ponder for a second; her past life memories were pretty fuzzy at best, was this place really called that before? But Kenny was surprised, "The what?" He asked in confusion. Clearly, these 3 knew something he didn't. "I mean, was this place originally the 'village of new beginnings'?"
The older man introduced himself as Josh, and his partners, the Elecmon as Leo and Bearmon as Belph, respectively, as Kenny took the handshake, as he claimed to barely see another adult around, mentioning that he only saw new faces around here. Kenny sounded pretty interested about that, "Wait, you mean you've been a tamer for years? God, I feel so young now."
Skadi on the other hand, was still scratching her head. "Sorry to bring this up, Josh, but I think I may or may not have met you before, obviously not in this form, but still. Guess that's what happens when you've been through a lot of lives. Everything just gets really fuzzy for you." She chuckled sheepishly.
Josh had brought up DATS, a recent situation that Kenny had dealt with earlier in the real world. Archnemon did have a huge beef with the DATS of old, claiming that they initiated genocide against her kind. So at least Kenny had some ground to stand on to tell Josh about it, "Well, KIZNA is this group in the Digital World that I'm a part of. We're both archaeologists exploring the secrets of the Digital World, and peacekeepers for both human and Digimon-kind. It's quite the funny story, actually." He said, rubbing his head with the back of his hand. Clearly, it was a long story, and an interesting one too.
Josh then mentioned about going to find somewhere to stay the night to recharge and refresh, while exchanging info with each other. "Ah, yeah, we can find you a good inn to stay for the night. Follow us." He said, as he and Skadi turned around to lead them and he gestured them to follow, Skadi happily bounding along with her partner, although she did turn her head and smile at them.

Josh looked puzzled at first. "What? The village is still about two thirds of a day away from here." He chuckled, clarifying for the other tamer. "I was just saying this place wasn't here last time we came through. As for how long I've been a tamer... Do you want from the first time I met a digimon? The first time I went on a journey with these two? Does time outside of the digital world or out of control of my body count? I still have nightmares about parisimon you know..." He says with a shrug as he starts following Kenny and skadi to the inn.
"I don't recall meeting you in this form, but it is a possibility. There have been a lot of events going on where digimon lost their forms. Hakai in particular were a large menace back when I was visiting more often. Since then, I've been more wary about groups around the digital world." The man would say, Leo hopping from roof to roof to check out the expanding town as Belph trudged along at the back of the group.
"An archaeologist? We've been to several ruins over our trips. Find anything of interest while you explored?" Belph asked, seemingly more relaxed in a civilized area than the digital world. "Yeah, we could do with some fun places to go while we're camping." Chuckled Leo, much to the annoyance of Belph. "Oh shush, we need to get you stronger. I for one want to see your mega form." Leo said, dodging a stone thrown by his brother.

So as it turned out, this place wasn't originally the village of new beginnings, just that Rosewood wasn't here when Josh was, which was a bit of a surprise for both Kenny and Skadi, mainly due to their own circumstances. However, when Josh started to ask about whatever Kenny wanted to know, he brought up Parasimon, which immediately, Skadi shuddered at the thought of. It was clear that whatever Parasimon was, it wasn't exactly good. Kenny looked a little uneased from that, "I'm... sorry to hear that, man." He sighed as they walked along.
Meanwhile, while it was pretty obvious Skadi never met Josh and co. in her current Valaismon form, she could really not blame Josh on trusting any groups at random, especially from what she heard about Hakai (from what Josh was hinting at) and the old DATS (if Archnemon's sheer anger was anything to go by), but it was best to reassure the 3 (or rather 2, considering what Leo was doing), "Oh, don't worry, Josh." She pointed out, "KIZNA's on your side. Rest assured we will ensure that you will come to no harm, and even if I did want to hurt you, which I didn't, that would be a huge violation of code for us."
Then Belph asked about if the duo found any places of interests in their explorations, before Leo's teasing resulted in him throwing a stone at his brother, which he dodged. Skadi, however, caught the stone before it could hit anyone else, "Hey, whoa, calm down, you two. You don't wanna take out an innocent bystander now with your rough-housing." She said firmly, putting the stone on the ground.
"Actually, I haven't been assigned to go anywhere yet." Kenny replied to the Bearmon, after Skadi put down the stone, "But I may get a mission in the near future, and, hey, if I find anything good, I'll make sure to hook you guys up on Tamernet about it, OK?" He slipped his hands into his pocket and continued, "Anyways, you have anything you prefer to eat? We're not picky, honestly, so just tell us what you guys want, and we'll take you there." He wanted to make their stay as comfortable as humanly possible, in all the ways he could.

Josh shrugged. "It's ok bud, its one of those weird digital world incidents, it's not exactly likely to happen to you guys." He said with a friendly smile. "I hope you'll forgive me if I'm not going to try join KIZNA. I've had bad experiences when it's come to teams before. They tend to say they'll do something, then take over the digital world or go on a bombing run in shibuya." Josh said, trying to make out like it was a joke.
Leo's stone throwing hadn't gone unnoticed by Josh, and the tamer beckoned the digimon over before pulling him into an arm lock and using his other hand to noogie the red and purple digimon. "Agh! Josh! Stoppit!" Leo squirmed before breaking free and getting out of range. "Fine, I'll stop!"
Josh chuckled, turning back to Kenny and Skadi. "Sure, just give me a buzz sometime. We've done a few missions before. As for food.... Something cooked would be great, especially chips." This elicited a nod from Leo before Belph chimed in. "Or pizza. We've been eating plain food for too long."
"So, when was this place built? I know it wasn't here back 6 or so years when I was last around. And from the sounds of it, you don't know where the village of new beginnings is."

When Josh had told him about his reluctance to potentially join KIZNA himself, Kenny just nodded polity, although the 'bombing run' joke, did make him feel a little unease after the whole situation in Shibuya during Golden Week. He just chuckled slightly at it, but there was a slight, subtle hint of nervousness. Likewise, Kenny did smile at the roughhousing nature between Josh and Elecmon, while Skadi giggled. For Kenny, it did remind him of his fun times with his own parents. He passed a sly glance to Skadi as this happened.
So they preferred cooked food, huh? Luckily for all of them, culinary skills didn't matter per level, just whenever the monster had actual limbs or not. And just as well, too, as just nearby, the group were approaching a restaurant nearby, "Welp, we're here guys." He turned and smiled at them, "I heard this place has some really good food here, or at least according to my guide."
As Kenny opened the door and led them inside, immediately, they were greeted by a friendly-looking Koemon sitting at the front of his desk, "Welcome, welcome fellas." He greeted them, as Kenny walked up to him, "So, what you're after today."
"Table for 5 please." Kenny answered, gesturing to Skadi, Josh and his Digimon.
"Excellent." The monkey Digimon chimed in, grabbing a number on a stand and leading them to a large empty table, gesturing them to take a seat which the duo promptly did, "Our waiter will be with you shortly. In the meantime, please take a look at our menus." With that, the Koemon turned and set off, leaving the 5 to think about what to order, with Kenny and Skadi grabbing their menus.
So when was this place built, exactly? Kenny just shrugged a little, "To be honest, I'm not sure. If anything, I heard it was just built recently, but it was a bit before I became a Tamer, so your guess is as good as mine. Hell, I've never even heard of the village of new beginnings."
Skadi quickly chimed in, to help patch in the missing details, "Construction started last year, and Rosewood became it's own civilisation back in August. And it became a town just last November. Pretty impressive if you ask me. And it was all thanks to the humans and Digimon that made it a better place." She was genuinely impressed with all the details and the efforts to make it a better place.

Josh nodded politely, letting their guide talk as he looked around. The place even had that newly shaved wood smell. The Koemon running the restaurant seemed friendly enough, and they weren't even phased about there being two humans, let alone adults.
"I'm surprised you never heard of the village, It's the place all digimon go to hatch from their eggs. Unless of course a tamer gets granted one. It's guarded by an Elecmon who's a friend of ours. He's a bit grouchy, but he means well." Josh explained, taking a seat opposite Kenny and glancing at the menu. He made a mental note to order the steak before passing over the menu to Leo, who was almost drooling by now.
"Jeeze, I'm starving." The Elecmon moaned, eyes roving over the menu. "One meal Leo, you can pig out when we go fishing later." Josh said, knowing the greedy elecmon would order everything if he was able to. Honestly, josh was looking forward to his more sensible champion form being around again. "So you're a new tamer yourself then? Have you gotten used to it yet?" Belph asked, much to the surprise of Leo, who cocked an eyebrow before deciding food was more important right now and went back to scanning the menu. Josh too was a little startled, Belph rarely interacted with people he didn't know well. "A lot has changed since we were here, so it's all kind of new, and nostalgic at the same time."

Apparently, from what Josh explained, the village of new beginnings sounded eerily similar to the 'Village of Beginnings', the place Skadi told Kenny about when they first met. "Oh, I think you mean the Village of Beginnings. Guess that place must've had a bit of a name change after a while." He joked. He did make a mental note to ask the Elecmon about Josh, before chuckling at his and Leo's antics. After deciding what he wanted, he passed the meal to Skadi, who was busy looking at the menu herself.
The mention of Josh about going fishing did make Kenny a little interested; "Hey Josh, mind if we join you for fishing later?" He asked him, while Skadi pulled down the menu and nodded. It would be a good opportunity for Kenny to learn about the marine life of the Digital World, and Skadi was still willing to help him.
So did Kenny get used to being a new tamer? He just shrugged, "Well, yes and no. If anything, I've been getting used to the concept of Digimon in general. I've gotten used to them in my life, and I'm still learning a lot of things about being a tamer, but at the same time, every time I feel like I've learnt the ropes, something shows up and throws another curveball my way." He paused for a minute, before starting to recall to the 3, "Like, the other day, when we were in the beach, we met this nice girl with a Meicoomon. I tried to pet her while I was dripping wet and scared her off. But I apologised to her and she forgave me."
Skadi added, "Kenny's actually a really nice person, to be honest with you guys. He has a lot of potential to be a great tamer. And he's a great friend too." That made Kenny blush a little bit. Before she would continue, the waiter, a chipper RedOtamamon would approach the table, holding a notepad and a pen.
"So, you guys ready to order?" He said, ready to write it down.
Kenny and Skadi already had decided what they would have for lunch today. "Yeah, I would like to have the steak with chips today." He told the RedOtamamon, who the latter then turned to Skadi while writing it down.
"And how about you?"
"I'll have the vegeburger with chips myself, please." She answered.
"Excellent choice." The RedOtamamon smiled, writing down their choice, before turning to Josh and his Digimon, "And what will you be having today?" He asked them.
