"This is the first meeting of the Knights of the Rose; the only meeting called in it's small life span. I was hoping she would be here for this but alas. We're here today to discuss several topics; some from my docket and I'm sure that the lot of you have other things you want to address."
The business like tone that garlond pushed was thankfully rock solid, very little emotion trickled into his voice. If he was going to be honest it was hard sitting in this seat, hard looking over the round table that sat in this meeting room. There were a plethora of chairs, more than there were knights, or at least more than the current number of knights which soured his expression slightly.
Joseph sat on his left; reading over some reports and keeping his eyes between it, the knights, and the door as though expecting more people to show up but by the feel of it this was going to be everyone. The black and yellow guilimon-x grimaced lightly and tossed the report down on the table.
"Well, first things first. Introductions, we've all met on the tamernet in one fashion or another but most of us haven't met a single person other than garlond or K. In fact most of you I don't recognize."
"Ah. Yes. I'm Garlond and this is Joseph by the way. He was basically K's squire for a time. He'll be holding onto her position up until she returns, if she ever does. I'll be handling paperwork until that time as well... Though even if she does come back I'll still handle it. Part of my job you see."
"Can we just get to the point of the meeting rather than the needless talk of things we already know?"
The seraphimon grumbled quietly, shifting in his chair. He had to bring in his own as the ones the knights had were more standardized for something smaller. He was technically on the clock so he had to be prepared for anything, well he was always on the clock but he was actually supposed to be on guard duty right now...
"Erm. Quite. As you all know, Construction for vander tower is going to start sometime next week. Which means that it won't be available for housing for a short time but don't worry we have a few cabins outside of it proper for you in the meantime. Additionally we've recieved various personal requests to deal with issues and the like. Chief among them is what we're going to do with 'her' gone."
"Which most of us already know the answer to. But people out there don't know; so we either let them in on this or figure something out. I'm not one for hiding secrets but..."

"Honestly, if you're expecting this to be a quick meeting..."
Iko, sitting as an Ankomon, didn't even bother finishing that thought. He and Luke, the tamer sitting next to him, pinching the bridge of his nose, had worked with Oathgard briefly during the forest incident. Aside from that, however, most everyone here was a relative stranger, brought together for the same goal.
A goal realized by a visionary that wouldn't even be present for their first meeting. Aside from that one comment, they would concede the floor over to Garlond. Yes, Vander Tower was due for an upgrade, which meant that they at least had to clear out their rooms.
"Isn't that getting a bit ahead of ourselves, here? Honestly, we barely know each-other's names and titles." Iko cut in, at the very least wanting to get some normalcy into this meeting. "I'm Iko, and this is my tamer Luke. I've taken 'Shadow Knight' as my moniker, and am overall a combat specialist. Looking forward to working with you all."
"Oddly professional of you, Iko." The tamer shook his head, moving to introduce himself: "My name's Luke, student electrician and Iko's tamer. Not really good with introductions like these, but I should get to know you all eventually..."
And, well, it wouldn't just be those two. Sitting across from them and near Garlond, a BlackGatomon gave a sigh, pulling herself up to the edge of the table. "... I'm Syre, Knight of the Black Rose. And I think I know a few of you here?" The cat gave a blink, not entirely sure how to hold herself, considering everything.
So she slipped back in her chair, for the time being.

Roy the Veemon and Rex the Guilmon attended the meeting as Knights of the Rose for the first time. Roy for one was a little awkward and shy, given he had contributed relatively little to the knights so far. His twin brother Rex meanwhile cheerfully greeted everyone as they arrived.
Roy was dressed in his usual red tunic, while Rex was dressed in his usual green. They lacked armor, but still, K had admitted them as Knights, so they thought of themselves as such. Their days since being admitted were all about acting as town guards for Rosewood, helping those in need, keeping order in the town, rolling eyes at pesky little digimon asking them if they were adventurers before taking an arrow to the knee. The news of K's passing jolted them both considerably, and they were eager to attend this meeting to find out what was next for them.
They took their seats, glad for the gaps in the back of them so their tails could poke through. They paid attention to the chairs of the meeting, Garlond and Joseph. Apparently they were soon to construct Vander Tower, which would be the seat of the Knights. But first, they agreed that they needed some introductions.
"Heya." Rex said, standing up first. "I'm Rex, going by the moniker "Crimson Knight." Not because I'm bad or anything, just most of my scales are red, so, that's that. And this is my big brother Roy."
Referring to Roy as "Big Brother" would probably be confusing, given Rex was a full foot bigger than the Veemon. But still, Roy was born first, and despite his caution and shyness, usually what he suggested they should do, Rex would follow. Rex did the same, standing up too.
"I'm Roy, and I take the title of the "Starlight Knight." only by saying it out loud did he realize it rhymed. He blushed a little, but went on. "I can use light attacks, so that's why. Nice to meet you all. We've only been part of this group for a short time, most of what we've been doing is patrolling the streets of Rosewood."
Supposing that was all they had to share for now, the brothers resumed their seats.

With an elbow on the table, hand propping up the young man's chin, Asher glanced around at the chairs. There was obviously no interest in the empty seats, yellow eyes would pause at each members of the Knights that had the opportunity to join the meeting. Definitely, a less than ideal meeting, considering the leader was unable to be present.
In a chair beside him, a far more chipper looking Meicoomon sat, a pillow wedged underneath her to let her see over the table more comfortably. Where had she found the pillow? Asher wasn't even positive. He had turned around for a second, and the next moment, she was carrying around the puffed up object! Some things regarding the feline were just better not to ask about. Either way, they were there now, and both of them could have a clear view of everyone else in the room.
Once the leads of the meeting began to speak, Asher leaned back in his chair, trying to seem a bit more attentive than his previous position would have led people to believe. Soon, after discussion of construction, there seemed to be intent for introductions. First, Luke and Iko. Familiar names, simply due to a mutual friend mentioning the tamer-partner duo. Otherwise, he knew essentially nothing about them, or anyone else that had introduced themselves. Though, it seemed more excused to be unaware of who Rex and Roy were, considering they had just stated they were moderately new.
And, from what he'd gathered during the conversation on Tamernet, Syre was related to K. Maybe it was a bit depressing, how in-the-dark he was on his own teammates!
Either way, it appeared to be his turn to join into introductions. Remaining sitting, the redhead lifted a hand, in a small wave. "I'm Asher." Such enthusiasm! Or, maybe, it was just laziness at its finest! "My title's Errant Knight." Luckily, none of the members of the Knights knew the ex-actor well enough to know that it was highly unlikely that he had thought of his own name. Aside from his feline friend, of course. But, she wasn't actually a knight! Just a cat!
A cat who had to be introduced, too! "And I'm Whiskers!" The orange kitty was standing on her pillowed chair by the time the words made it out of her mouth, "I'm not actmewly a Knight, but I help Ashfur do stuff, so I get to come to meetings too!" Would the catty speech drive the knights insane? Probably. Would Whiskers ever stop them?
Never.
Plopping back onto her seat, the cat looked towards any other knights that may be lacking introductions. And after everyone was done, they could finally figure out the tougher subjects!

The first meeting that this group had called together and Aya's partner was, well...not late, but Coolmon had been pushing it a bit. She had been waiting in her seat for quite a while before Coolmon finally showed up with a cart full of smoothies for everyone. The reasoning behind this was mostly to keep people's spirits up considering what had just happened.
It wasn't going to be a very quick meeting, either, so really, people would need to stay awake and hydrated. As the rabbit passed out the drinks and got to her seat, the time came to properly commence the meeting and get everyone introduced to each other. Luke and Iko were two individuals that Coolmon had worked with before. Roy and Rex, as well as Syre, Asher and Whiskers were all individuals that neither Coolmon or Aya knew, though.
So, when the time came for them to stand up, both the Cutemon and the knight stood at attention. "I'm Ayaka Maeda, just call me Aya. If we're doing titles, then the Knight of Lilac is what I'd prefer to use."
This was then followed by Coolmon's own introduction. "I'm the one and only Coolmon, the Coolest Knight! I'm Aya's partner, and we usually handle patrols along with the occasional mission. Nice to meet some of you in person and nice to see some of you are still kicking!"
As they both took a seat, Aya folded her hands across her lap. "I feel like we should restate the consensus that we came towards in Tamernet to start with, before we figure out where to go from there."

"Hardly. I'm expecting this to go deep into the night and well into the morning."
Garlond gave a shrug at the comment given by Iko. He hadn't really met Iko properly before, but given the snark he was somewhat glad of that fact. The renamon shifted, spun his pen around and hummed as the other wanted to do introductions.
"Ah. Yes. That is true. Very well then."
Garlond would quickly pen down names and with an ear flick looked up when Syre spoke. There was a momentary frown as he could tell that the young one was likely still recovering from the death of her mother... But. He'd have to address that at another point in time.
Joseph would tilt his head lightly as the others introduced themselves. Shadow, Black, Crimson, Starlight, Errant, Lilac, Coolest, and... Whiskers. All titles that held themselves well, save for the last one he supposed. The guilimon gave a nod at each introduction and at the end considered what exactly his title should be. Squire of K didn't really ring well.... He'd give a small shake of his head and then glance at Oathgard who had largely just fallen silent watching everyone interact.
"...The memorial service for what amounted to our leader? Yes. That would be a good place to start. A very... dour note to start on. The service itself would be in rosewood, but I'm not sure if she should have any sort of statue or the like. She was too humble for that sort of thing."
Garlond would fold his hands over one another and flick his ears to either side looking like he was thinking something over while Joseph spoke. Oathgard would lean forward and place both his hands on the table.
"My name is Oathgard. The blinding Knight. I worked with K for a short time, respectfully I'd presume she'd want nothing of the sort in term of physical monuments. To which I ask you all, what was she to you? A mother? A teacher? A friend? A guide? To me she was just another mon looking to the stars and hoping that the world could be saved, one that I ended up hoping would be right."
There was a soft growl in his voice and the angel shifted so that he was standing after a few long moments.
"In that effect. Rather than dedicate a space to anything in rosewood we should dedicate a single room to her here. A place where if people come, they'll see who she was, where she was and how she was simply put. To do anything else would insult both her and her memory."
Both garlond and joseph looked a touch stunned, not exactly sure how to follow up with t hat. They'd look to the other members present, unsure how they wanted to approach this... if at all.

It didn't take long to go around the table - but aside from Syre, Oathgard, and Coolmon, everyone here was a new face to Iko and Luke. They looked on at the brief introductions, meeting the Veemon, Guilmon, and Meicoomon for the first time, as well as Asher. Strange, he was here with his Digimon partner, but the partner didn't join the knights?
"Probably a spirit wielder." Iko gave a whisper to Luke's unsaid question, both of them taking a smoothie when offered. "Thanks - nice to see you again, by the way. Glad we have a chance to meet when our noses aren't full of salt."
"Though, you didn't have a tamer last time, did you?" What was the story there? Was it a temporary split, or did Coolmon actually get a tamer after the fact?
That curious thought would have to wait. Aya brought up their first official point, and Oathgard ran with it for his suggestion. Iko's ear gave a twitch. Before they would answer what K meant to them, Luke had a counter-point to Oathgard's proposal: "How would that even work? Vander Tower isn't exactly a public access building, and I'm sure K meant a lot more to others than just us."
"Rosewood might be untenable, though. The entire place is still reeling from the attack by the Megidramon, and it might be a bit insensitive to propose an empty building or more than just a pittance of a memorial for her."
"... Then the gnarled wood?" Syre spoke up, to Luke's surprise - but he had no idea what Syre meant. Which was clear to the cat probably based on the number of confused looks she got! "I mean, there's this place outside Whitewater where K spent a lot of time meditating and... its hard to explain but that part of the Digital World literally feels like her. Its a bit out of the way of the public, but if I'm honestly honoring my mom's wishes... well, that has to be the place for her memorial."
Alright, fair enough: Iko shrugged in general agreement, not wanting to speak over anyone else. But that question still hung in the air. Who was K to them?
"To me, K was both a sparring partner and a student, of sorts. As far as I could tell, she had a good heart and a load of data and power at her disposal, but her way of using it was pretty unrefined. Still, probably one of the bravest I've ever met."
"Can't say I really knew her outside of my partner's interactions with her. Both Iko and K were headstrong to the point of being stubborn, so I'm honestly surprised they didn't butt heads a little more."
And then there was Syre. She gave a sigh: "She's my mom. My smart dork of a mom who was scared of seeing her kids grow up too fast, and who just wanted to make the world a bit safer for me, my brother, and my sister. Looking up at all of you... well, only now do I understand just how far her feelings got around."

Roy and Rex paid attention to the rest of their colleagues. The next was a human named Asher, and his assistant Whiskers. Asher's title was the Errant Knight, although what that meant, the brothers didn't know. Whiskers wasn't a knight, but seemed like more of a squire. Rex gave a little giggle at her way of speaking. Roy smiled a little too, it was a welcome diversion for the grim reason why they had gathered here.
The next was a human named Ayaka, the Lilac, and her digimon partner, Coolmon the... cool. This confused Rex a little.
"Roy, does that mean her specialty is ice?" the Guilmon asked his brother.
"Ah... no, I don't think so, I think it's more like... 'cool' as in what humans say is 'fashionable' and 'confident' I think?" the Veemon answered. Rex tried to process that, but eventually managed it. They found they agreed with Coolmon's proposition as well.
Once the introductions were over, the siblings paid attention to what came next. The memorial for K would take place in Rosewood, but it seemed that erecting a statue would probably be out of the question. That fitted well with them, from what they knew of K, she was rather discreet and modest.
Then Oathgard next introduced himself, then asked what K meant to them. Roy and Rex thought on this. They had only patrolled with her once, but, it was clear that her main interest was to defend those that needed defending. To this question, Roy had an easy answer.
"To us, K was a protector of the innocent." the Veemon stated. "She came to Rosewood, recognizing it as the first town of call for new rookie level digimon from the Village of Beginnings, and saw it as a sanctuary that needed protection, almost as much as the village itself."
"I agree." Rex added. "And if that's what K wanted, just a room here where everyone can remember her, that's fine with me."
The brothers remained silent upon Syre's input. Apparently K was his mother. And he thought a place outside Whitewater would be a more suitable place for the memorial. "Of course... if you think that's a better place, we're fine with that." Roy added, hastily.

Looking at the smoothies that were provided by a pink rabbit, Asher debated on if the product was actually consumable. While he wouldn't say anything negative about it, the redhead didn't seem too interested in actually drinking it. What flavor was it, even? While he still gave a smile and a, "thank you," to the smoothie-bunny, he would use the distractions of a stressful meeting for a reason to forget about the drink.
Unlike Whiskers, who was more than happy to be the taste-tester of the product. At least it kept her quiet, though she had to admit that she couldn't actually taste sweetness. If it was a sweet drink, she was clueless. But, it tasted good regardless! Or, one would likely assume that, considering how happy the feline was about drinking it!
Maybe Whiskers just liked to consume things, though.
Listening to the options of locations, it seemed that Luke came to the same conclusion that Asher had. Vander Tower wasn't really random-guest accessible. Luckily, he didn't have to be the one to make such a comment, though, considering he had no better ideas for a location. Until Syre's suggestion came up, that was. Gnarled wood? The name was unfamiliar. The description? He was almost positive he knew where the cat was talking about. "I think I've been there before," the redhead stated, giving a nod. He wasn't really sure what had become of it, with the 'feeling like K' or whatever, but considering the meeting he'd had with her there... it wasn't really something that struck him as a surprise. "That sounds like the best option." Would Joseph and Garlond agree?
Or, the rest of the team, for that matter?
Then again, he wasn't really sure they'd oppose something that was suggested by one of K's children. Surely, Syre knew her mother well enough that her vote counted most heavily in this discussion.
Soon, the room was going around explaining what K had been to them. And, when it reached Asher's turn? "She was a good friend," he commented, immediately. Not going heavily into details, the spirit user added, "I've known her for a long time." How long was it? Had it been years? Months? Time was hard to keep track of. Admittedly, not a strong suit of the teen.
"And she wasn't scary, like lots of dogs," Whiskers added, quickly. Then, scrunched her nose and cast a confused glance toward Iko. Was he a dog digimon? Would that have been offensive? She wasn't entirely positive on Ankomon's data origins, but it definitely looked canine. There was a debate on asking him not to take offense, but ultimately, she went back to her smoothie instead. Better not to think on it too much.
For now, it appeared to be Coolmon and Ayaka's turn to answer the question!

Honestly, it was a fool's errand to hope for meetings of this nature to go quick. While the whole 'going into the night and morning' bit was an exaggeration, they were certainly going to be here for a few hours at the very least. "I'd honestly go with a small marker, then, if K was not one for a statue." Coolmon began, before she looked to Roy and Rex. "Roy's absolutely right!" AND THEN she turned her attention to Luke.
"Yeah. It was a pretty emotional moment but I finally got a tamer!" Disregarding the fact Coolmon was actually a little weaker now because of that...She had to focus more on the now, though. "Perhaps a marker within the gnarled wood, then. Something here would be good, but...this place isn't quite accessible, as was already said...Hm..."
In regards to what K meant to the two? "...I'll admit, neither of us knew K too well, but to Coolmon she was a mentor to her. Someone who took her into the knights when she had nowhere else to go. Also one of the first Digimon I ever met. And my first time meeting an Ultimate that wasn't a giant rabbit."

"Hmm. You have a point. I can't really vouch for what she meant to many others other than the ones sitting in this room or her family. Past her exploits that gained the attention of luminas I'm fairly out of the loop to the extent of her connections."
"Well maybe if you socialized a little more..."
Oathgard seemed all right with the idea of it being somewhere else, however he'd shoot a look at joseph who's words seemed to sting just a little bit. The renamon however gave the guilimon a gentle bap on the top of his head causing the dinosaur to huff a bit. However the suggestion that they avoid rosewood all together made Garlond pause considerably.
"Avoiding a city center probably would be for the best... Oh?"
The renamon's eyes lit up at the mention of the gnarled wood. A place he had never heard of, he'd lean forward and rub at his chin as the blackgatomon explained what it was. A place that felt like K? A meditation location? That seemed odd to him and he would of spoken up but many of the others seemed to agree with syre that that should be the place for the memorial.
"Then the Gnarled woods it is. Those that have been there well... you'll have to show the ones that haven't where it is."
The answers to oathgards question were surprising, a sparring partner, a student, a mother, a dork, a protector of the innocent, a good friend, a mentor... So many different things from a single mon. And according to one she wasn't scary like other dogs, this earned a soft chuckle from the angel and he'd shake his head.
"So many different things to so many different people. If that's just from the people in this room I can't help but wonder what she's going to mean to others in a couple of years."
The angel mused quietly and folded his arms. Joseph coughed lightly and tapped his claws on the table, shifting just a bit in his seat. Honestly when it came down to it that solved a lot of their problems in regards to the memorial but there was one question he wanted to ask.
"Should it be a private or public memorial? Too many people going to one place might be a bit odd but... We can't just lock out others either."
Garlond looked thoughtful, Oathgard gave a small shrug and joseph looked around the table. He didn't mind meeting the gazes of the others if they were willing. There was a long pause and Garlond would speak up again.
"Is there anything anyone wants to focus on in terms of this meeting now that that mostly got cleared up?"

The gnarled woods it would be, then.
Iko and Luke didn't have a lot on that subject, but Syre herself seemed to be relieved. She gave a nod as Joseph confirmed their decision - though she would give a blink towards Asher as he mentioned that he was a friend of K's. This was curious to her: she'd never seen Asher before. What had this spirit wielder seen of K that she hadn't before? Was there a side Asher saw that was still unknown to the cat?
Iko, meanwhile, chuckled as Whiskers looked over in his direction. "Its alright, I'm supposed to be scary. One of the big bad wolves of the Dark Area and all that." His smirk was met with Luke's elbow hitting him in the ribs. Yeah, probably not the best time for something like that.
Next on the agenda: public or private? Luke mulled it over. "... Pass."
"K doesn't seem like the outspoken sort to want it to be public."
"Hm... private, though I'm obviously going to forward invitations to the rest of the family."
That was reasonable, at least - and, finally, they would come to the crux of this meeting.
Where were they supposed to go from here? At this point, Iko sighed, taking lead of the conversation: "Our structure going forward is going to be critical. Despite K's best efforts to 'not have leadership', she was undoubtedly the head of the Knights - and now that she's gone, some might try to take advantage of our supposed disarray. Hard as it is... well, we'll have to keep our normal patrols as we have been doing, and more-than-likely increase our involvement in mid-to-high level jobs."

Rex answered Joseph's question quickly. "I think it should be public, but ordered, obviously. Let whoever K meant a lot to to come and pay respects. Maybe spread it over a few days so there's not so much of a rush?"
But given that Syre suggested private, that made the Guilmon withdraw somewhat. K's own child should have greater say in this than he did. Simple as he was, he at least recognized this. "...but if others think it should be private, I'm fine with that too." he finished.
Roy could go with either option meanwhile. Then Garlond asked if there was any further things they should talk about in this meeting. Iko said his piece, stating they should keep up appearances and participate in significant jobs.
The Veemon paused for a few moments, then decided to speak up. "I think we should develop bonds with each other." Roy stated. "I mean... we're all Knights of the Rose here, and, I don't know any of you. How can we build any kind of camaraderie if we never really interact with each other?"
Rex said nothing, but he gave a nod to show that he agreed with his brother.

...Coolmon had not been about to inquire what the heck was up with Luminas and their leader. That was something she hadn't been in the loop on, and now was potentially inappropriate to inquire why in her eyes. Both the tamer and the digimon nodded at Syre's words. Word of the boss' family should take some amount of precedence here.
"Adding onto what Roy said, we should make an effort to keep up with our patrol routes. Go with partners more often. I know Coolmon knows some of you, but I don't. We should endeavor to fix that, really." Aya stated with a fold of the arms. "Essentially, we need to prove that while some may think us to be in disarray, we really aren't. We're still Knights."

Letting out a sigh -- be it of relief, or distress -- Whiskers shifted in her seat. At least Iko wasn't taking offense to her statement! Which, probably meant that he wouldn't try to eat her later, or something. Not that it was actually a likely occurrence regardless, but it was pretty obvious that Whiskers was the paranoid type.
At least with the location was settled, they would only need to move onto the attendance. As many suggested private, Asher would only nod at their decisions. K didn't seem like one for parties, anyway, so a crowd just seemed out of place. And, considering the location, it didn't feel suiting to leave it to anyone and everyone. Though, the Guilmon's idea to spread it across days, in order to make it public, hadn't been a bad one, either.
Maybe it was due to the mood he was in, over the primary topic, but it didn't seem the redhead was as chatty as he should be. Not that anyone aside from Whiskers could possibly notice such a thing! "We could patrol with each other. Or, do some," the teen paused, after finally breaking his silence, "group activity, or something," What kind of activity? Asher really couldn't say.
He wasn't sure if anyone here even had enough common interests to do something outside of patrols, honestly.
"We could purrticipate in smoothie-making classes," Whiskers suggested, less-than-helpfully. She really did like that smoothie! But, it also wasn't really a good bonding experience! Either way, the suggestion seemed earnest enough! Whiskers was just really food (or smoothie) oriented!
More-or-less, it seemed that the two agreed with the suggestions provided so far for keeping things on-track, though! It was a good enough start, even if the duo failed to provide any new, creative suggestions for what should be done regarding the Knights. It just felt like everything they could have suggested had already been mentioned!
