Not a moment too soon after everyone was hidden away did the doors re-open. That they were gifted with the sight of those guards, their twisted massive frames as they pushed the doors open. Forcing them apart as though the metal wasn't giving way to them fast enough. Their bodies were massive in comparison to every single meicrackmon they had seen before, not to mention there was two of them!
There was small nusances that could tell one from the other. One had the crazy allotment of eyes grafted to her head, a partial skull of the macchinedramon on the other side of theirs. Those massive cannons, those massive claws. They looked painful, dreadful, lumbering. Their cannons scraping against the floor here and there. Even thumping against the ground as they leaned to forward.
Their claws gouged into the floor and chalice winced as they bumped into one another. They'd snarl, gnash their teeth and even headbutt one another. But there wasn't anger in their voices, not pain, there was something else. These two were connected somehow before. The two meicrackmon's circled around one another to switch off and lumbered towards the exits.
The moment that the meiccrackmon's were switched about is when chalice hopped down from her hiding place and gestured for the group to follow her. They had only a small window to get to the next room and through it.
"C'mon! we've got a minute before the guards in the next room are back in it!"
They'd have to be fast, they'd have to run through this next segment if they wanted to make it anywhere. Chalice was already opening the door for them to make their escape into the next room!
Which the next room yawned open to them. There wasn't a single place to hide in this area at all. No boxes. No steel frames blocking their way. In the center of the room however lay a single block. On that block there was a board-game.
A chess game.
The pieces were in various positions, it seemed as though this game had gone on for a long time given the state of it. The large spanning room didn't really have much else too it, some lights that flicked on and off. Some dents in the floor near the chess board.
"Fifty seconds, we need to move!"
Chalice herself practically catapulted herself towards the next door and let out a stream of steady curses as the door didn't seem to want to open.
"Syre! Digivolve; Shoot here, here and here. Gio! Dio! Melt the other two doors. Carlos, take a picture of that chess board. We need thirty seconds for the power locks on this door to fail and then we can bust it open."
How much did chalice know about this place? Why did she need a picture? Why even with her knowing little pieces of this place not make sense? The angel was already tearing into the framework next to the door, mucking with the wiring while mumbling to herself.

That temporary hiding place quickly became crowded, but in this situation it was the best they could do. As far as Syre could tell, the moment that they were most likely to get caught was when trying to leave this room. In the next, it would just be a matter of sprinting through and getting the door open, so clearly they had to -
"!!"
Nope, Chalice had a different idea! Already seeing the smaller Digimon move to the door, Syre resisted the urge to swear under her breath, and with as much cover as she could manage, she'd slip through that open door, and sprint across the next. The details of the next room were again glossed over - if asked, Syre wouldn't even know if it was checkers or chess in the middle of the room - and as Chalice swore at the door, Syre found herself swearing as well.
"F-fine!" No time to argue - she moved right up to Sistermon, drew a pistol, and shot three clean bullets into the panel, before she pushed herself even further. Soon, the mega level Kuzuhamon stood at the ready, hand clenched around that staff, ready to slam through that door at a moment's notice.
Not a second to waste. And yet Chalice wanted a picture of the chess table? Why?

As the lumbering masses of flesh and metal shambled their way through the room both Carlos and Dio (more so Dio) found themselves biting down their lips almost hard enough to draw blood, attempting to stay calm and not panick at the sight of these half mechanical, half living monstrosities, and it was equally as hard not to let out a sigh of relief once they left the room. However there was little time to celebrate, as Chalice quickly moved out into the next room, urging them all to rush as well.
"On it!"
They complied of course, the trio sprinting out of their cover after the Mastemon and into the next room, adrenaline coursing high through their bodies and blocking out anything else. They didn't even skip a beat as she gave every single one of them very specific intructions.
The twins were quick to change into their higher forms from before, the NeoDevimon and Black Wargrowlmon stood together as they both shoot out two large, red hot rays of pure energy from their eyes and chest respectively, the metallic doors in front of them would no doubt soon melt and bend over under the heat and power of the two. So much for stealth.
While this was happening Carlos brought out a phone out of his pocket with remarkable swiftness and quickly used it to take a picture of the board, never questioning as to why or how Chalice needed such a thing. While somewhat blurry due to the frantic motion of the camera, the image would hopefully be clear enough for it to be of use later.

Those gun shots would be heard throughout the area, they would without a doubt draw the attention of the guards and they might lose precious seconds by doing so but there was literally nothing chalice could do. These doors had a safety function in the event of a failure, a failure that also encompassed bullets hitting their structural weak-points.
Though when she pushed herself to mega chalice's eyes flicked to them. The twins doing as they were told. She could hear the clanging of the footsteps of the others approaching rapidly. They'd start beating on the doors, denting them inwards but ultimately unable to break through them in a timely fashion.
The locks on the door that syre shot would click open all at once, prompting the mastemon to snarl and with a gesture she'd tell the Kuzuhamon to knock the door in. Following that? Well she'd lead the group into the next area. Not wanting to waste time, she knew how this place worked. The moment they knew an enemy was in their midsts stuff would get more difficult...
But they were at the end of all that right? The next room was some kind of bunker room. With a large open metal door that spanned from one side of the room to the next. Chalice looked somewhat surprised to see it open. She'd turn her head and gesture for the group to follow.
"Once we get through these doors, we're going to lock them behind us. They'll be strong enough to stop those two other guards from getting in while we get vivian and put out a shut down signal to the entire facility."
The mastemon looked like she was going to deflate and after a moment well she'd step through the massive doors. She didn't seem too terribly in a hurry now that they were here. Once they were through she'd start working on closing them.
On the other side of the doors it was a somewhat startling sight. A lab of sorts with many different tools, not unlike the one upstairs but there was a noticeable difference. This place was cleaner, well kept, everything was practically pristine. Like whoever had lived here had taken better care of it. Chalice would tsk briefly at seeing this scene, shaking her head slowly; she'd jerk her head towards the other end of the room where a sole door beckoned to them.
"This would definitely be his proper lab, he always had secondaries n such. Check around if you want or move on; up to you until I get this door closed..."

Syre intended to barge through from the start.
The moment that Chalice gave the signal, Syre would wedge her staff into the gap in the door, and wrench it right open! She ushered the others on through, sprinting past the exit once everyone else was clear, wanting to put as much distance between herself and those demented Raguelmon as she could manage.
And it worked - the group's running would eventually take them past the bunker doors, and as Chalice worked to get them properly shut, the Mastemon said something curious. 'Feel free to look around'? "With all due respect, we shouldn't be doing anything like that until the doors are closed. Whatever stunt we pulled in the last room might be liable to lead half the facility to our position." She let out a 'tsk', shaking her head as she took a few steps inside, leaning her back against a wall.
She wasn't used to this form - she brought it up simply for the sheer strength it offered. A few moments later, a light would envelop her, and she'd revert back to her form as a Sistermon. "At any rate, about how far are we from Vivian? I mean, is it just in this lab?"

While frantic, things went by relatively smoothly. The doors opened with their combined efforts, and perhaps some luck the group managed to get inside and away from the wretched guards, who seemed to be aware of them but not capable to actually reach them, at least for the time being. That only gave the man and his partners momentary respite, but it was still welcome nonetheless.
Once on the other side of the massive bunker doors, the trio would join Syre in leaning against a wall, all of them seemingly equally mentally and physically exhausted by the ordeal. The sight of the digimon joined by her three uncles of equally different heights standing right next to her would have almost been a funny sight in any other situation, actually. But at the very least they were close to the finish line, Vivian being apparently just within their reach as soon as the Mastemon got those doors sealed tightly.
Though Chalice's immediate suggestion only earned her an incredulous look from the man. Look around? Really? Carlos shook his head. "Nah thanks, I think we're good, plus I rather we stop splitting up if we can help it."
"So we get Vivian and then what? Can we can't really go back the way we came now that they know we're here." Dio was quick to add to Syre's inquiry. After all unless Orion's lab had a personal teleporter, retracing their steps with the facility in alert while carrying Vivian was probably a very poor idea, to say the least.

Chalice was rather grateful for the fact that the individuals that were hired for this mission were quick on the uptake and were able to move quickly when promptly. The mastemon sighing a little bit and flicking her wings to either side as both syre and tamer group seemed to think it was better for the doors to be closed before moving on.
Probably a good call on their part just in case the other guards were able to get through the doors. With a surprised snort the mastemon managed to get the doors to start closing, watching the large doors rumble closer together before addressing them.
"I suppose. Curiosity has the better of me here.... Oh? Uh. Let me look."
The mastemon pulled from her labcoat the same device from earlier. She'd look down at it and put up the little projection. Frowning she'd slowly pull it up and then let out a soft, almost relieved sigh.
"Looks like she's on the other side of those doors over there. So we go through this lab, into the next one. That must be the gestation room in this section. Who know's if it's a solitary one or multiple..."
The mastemon shook her head and turned to Dio as he asked about how they were going to get 'out'. The mastemon rubbed her chin slowly and tilted her head.
"There's a shut down command for these guards, there absolutely has to be. We find whatever can broadcast it here, turn it on and then bam. No guards on the way back and we can do as we like. We still have to free all those meicoo from earlier so. And who's to say we couldn't anyways? Vivian is the strongest one of the meicoos in the entire facility, she could trounce everyone if she was in fighting condition. But I doubt she will be."
The mastemon rubbed at her neck as the doors rumbled shut. The mastemon stepping away from the massive doors. She'd gesture at carlos to hand her whatever thing he used to take a picture of that chess set.
"As unlikely as it seems, orion is craftier than he seems. Most people would gloss over a chess set as the guards passing time, however setting pieces in certain places means a lot to him. Little things like that he would teach his 'daughters'. At least when he was still around. So it's more than likely a code for something, I don't know what. But something."
The last door was still on the side of the room. Beckoning the party, not much was to be done in this one. It was similar to that room that syre and dio had gone to but... So much more clean. None of that smell and without the 'chalice' from earlier.

"One set of doors away... turn off the master controls, and make our way out. Alright... alright, just a little more then."
Finally catching her breath, Syre stood up, giving a smile and nod to Carlos. They had their direction, and honestly after seeing the horror of that first lab and tripping over a security measure in the second, the Sistermon wasn't too keen on looking around. However, she did blink at Chalice's suggestion that the chess set mattered.
Or that it was 'crafty'.
"No, that's remarkably dense of Orion. 'Crafty' would have been writing a pass code on a piece of paper and shoving it into his wallet. Or, keeping something of sentimental value in an office instead of where giant mechanical monsters that bump into each-other might trip over it." Yes, Syre wrote off that clue entirely, finding it far too absurd to be of any value.
Past that, they had one more door to check. Just in case, Syre would give a nod to Dio and Gio to cover them when the door opened to cover her as they opened the door to... an empty lab.
"... Where's Vivian, then..."

Once again, Carlos found himself agreeing with his niece. Orion keeping a secret code like that out in the open, even if it was obscure and hidden in plain sight was rather careless of him. The fact it was somehow related to the chess board in the previous room didn't make it any less bizarre, it wasn't that much different from the typical James Bond esque villain that would consciously leave glaringly obvious weakspots in their plans, almost begging for someone to throw a provervial (and sometimes literal) spanner in their works.
Still, it was probably something neither of them would have probably thought of, so maybe Orion was on to something. "This guy's a puzzle himself." Carlos said, shaking his head as he carefully handed his phone to the Mastemon, the screen showing the relatively clear picture of the chess board, just as Chalice had instructed.
Meanwhile the two brothers stood by close to Syre, positioned by the door's sides on guard as they awaited for it to open. And once it did it revealed...nothing but an empty, clean lab on the other side. And said emptiness did little but to put the twins even more on edge.
"B-but...she has to be here!" The blackgrowlmon stammered, eyes scanning the room back and forth. They couldn't have missed her, right? That was impossible.

The mastemon grumbled a little bit and stretched. Mulling over the fact that the others thought that it wasn't crafty. What was the point of having security measures and not have some intruders have the means to find a way through? Honestly... Chalice huffed a bit and just shrugged at syre's thoughts in the matter. Carlos chiming in with the fact that her father was a puzzle. At least he didn't seem a hundred percent convinced of the matter itself.
The mastemon stepped forward and pulled her scanner up. Raising a brow at the signal that she was given. She'd scan the room, step forward a bit and then frown slowly as she was gifted with the same information that had been presented before. She was grateful for being shown the chess image but... this took priority over it.
"Says she's right here. But... oh."
The mastemon grumbled a bit and knelt to the floor where she gave a small knock. The sound that the floor made was that of a metal container filled with liquid. She'd turn her head back to the others and tut.
"She's in a vat remember? Like the others. So we have to raise it from in the ground, there's a terminal in here so let me just..."
The mastemon trotted over to the wall, where a single lone terminal sat. Unlike the other lab it seemed to have a lower form of security likely for ease of access by the wayward scientist himself. She'd mumble to herself as she punched in information into the terminal before it'd bleep at her in a positive tone.
"Figure's he'd use her birthday..."
After a few more button presses the vat that was locked into the ground unlocked and slowly rose up. The silloute of a meicrackmon. Though this one was unlike any of the others before, far more streamlined, far less junky. Far less in terms of imperfections. This was his last experiment here and thusly it would be perfect, thusly it would be the culmination of everything he struggled for.
Another tap of the terminal and chalice let out a curse that was quickly outshone by the sound of the vat opening. The water within gushing out of the cracks and pouring out onto the floor. The cables holding the meicrackmon in place snapping off with hisses. The digimon falling to it's knees without the support of the water or it's cables.
Without the murky splutionified water and the glass obscuring it, the details of the meicrackmon were apparent. It had guns for lower legs, some grafted on armor, a poncho and a hat. Some of it looked very natural while others did not. Upon it's face rested a half face mask, hiding the details of the lower half of it's face.
It swayed without the support of the water or cables, struggling to say something before just collapsing in a heap. The entire time chalice was wordlessly opening and closing her mouth before rubbing her temples.
"...The code makes sense. Avenge. Like as in... avengekidmon"

"Calm down, Gio. We still have a track on her data signal, remember? Let's just take a look around."
Syre kept her calm in the face of Gio's panicking, though her Sistermon form could have stood to have a bit more of a positive emotion in her tone. Thankfully, they didn't even have to look, as Chalice was already on the case. One part of the floor sounded different than the rest, and after fiddling around with a terminal, entering a birthday (which made far more sense than a chess combination), the captive would be revealed.
And on seeing the cat pour out of the vat, the Sistermon gave a blink. She stepped forward, catching the MeiCrackmon as she fell, sitting Vivian carefully on her knees. And the way she looked? Hoo boy...
"... Alright, please tell me that you're able to get rid of whatever software's running in her head, Chalice." Syre shook her head, as the MeiCrackmon fell limp in the Sistermon's arms. At the very least, she was able to let the cat's weight lean against her, before lying her carefully on her back
"If you can do it from here, shut this place down. If not... let's just get out of here."

"S-sorry, you're right." Was all Gio said in response to Syre, taking a deep breath. Was it reasonable to say pressure was starting to really bear down on the poor lizard? At any rate the trio's hearts (or rather cores in the twins' case) seemed to almost skip a beat in anticipation as the vat opened, revealing its contents, the reason they had infiltrated into this place to begin with. The digimon known as Vivian.
"Goddamnit..." Was all Carlos could mutter, biting his lip as the limp Meicrackmon fell into Syre's arms. It was probably foolish of him to still cling to the hope that Orion hadn't done anything to her yet...and even so he couldn't help but feel like they had failed to a certain extent. Hopefully there would be still hope for the meicrackmon...but that was something they could worry about after they left.
"Agreed." Dio nodded at the sistermon's comment, his head turning to face the door to the previous room, if only to avoid looking at the twisted form of Vivian. "I rather not stay in this place for any longer."

Chalice kneeled next to the meicrackmon, bringing her hands up to either cheek. Looking them over, texting the response of the cat's eyes to the small flashlight that she shone in either eye. She'd tut a little bit and shook her head slowly.
[color=goldenrod"I can stop whatever software that's running in her head; it'll take me a few minutes."[/color]
The mastemon grimaced a bit and gave a gentle tap to either cheek. Noting the complete lack of response; another sigh and shake of the head before she'd trot over to the terminal at the edge of the room. She'd rapidly tap on it, looking through the contents with a brief tsk following once she was done.
"Whatever upload he had going into her system stopped when she was disconnected. She's got the base programs, accuracy sub-routines and combat programming but she's still vivian. Or rather 35% of her is vivian. He's done something to her core. Whatever grafts he applied he also slipped in data from dozens of other digimon. Mostly meicrackmons, meicoomons and a raguelmon or two. Then he synthesized something to let the grafts of the avengekidmon onto her body."
The mastemon seemed almost impressed and kneeled down. Checking over the meicrackmon as she lay there. She didn't look too thrilled by what she was given here.
"There's really nothing to do at this point other than try to help her recover. Same with the other's here. The system's down now."
The mastemon however didn't seem to think that was the end of it but she'd turn her head to the others. Frowning lightly as she considered what to say to everyone.
"The guards are turned off now, so we'll be able to go back the way we came and get all those meicoomon's out of those vats. They'll likely be comotose just like Vivian."
The mastemon paused and cradled the meicrackmon's head. She looked rather sad in fact like she had almost just lost another sister. Her endless clones, her children of crystal. Every bit had been tried and true to craft a family of failures and here was just the last installment.
"...Good work you four. Malganoth is going to hate this so much I can already tell."
She'd bite her lower lip and lean over to put her head against the chest of the meicrackmon. Listening for that core pulse that she was so familiar with. It was like chalice had taken some courses so she knew what she should be doing.
"Stable enough. Lets get going."
Log: Unless anyone has anything to add or location they wish to revisit, the meicoomon evacuation and retrieval of Vivian proper can start. Which is the signal of the mission's ending.

'She's still Vivian'.
Syre grit her teeth at those particular words, shaking her head at the 'thirty-five' percent assessment. "Orion ruined the lives of several other Meicoomon to try and make whatever he was doing here a reality. Overall, she was just another drone to be put out like the rest, a guard or some experimental warrior with... with no regard to who Vivian was."
Syre swore under her breath, the 'emotionless' veil of the Sistermon cracking for a bare second. It wasn't just Vivian that was going to have to recover. "... They'll all need help. Vivian might have herself, but the rest won't even remember who they are at all - and might not even remember how to feel. At the very least, we should organize them with professional workers to try and get them back to her feet."
With that, the cat gave a sigh, her form regressing to that of a BlackGatomon. Her lip was tense, a frustrated fang bared towards this entire situation. She nodded towards the Mastemon, and stepped back next to the tamer.
"... And here I thought a good mission would distract myself from everything that's going on. Ugh."

Chalice's diagnosis of Vivian's state was rather grim, yet somewhat hopeful. 35% was still better than nothing, at the very least. At least that was what Carlos and Dio kept telling to themselves, trying to keep the closest they could to a "positive" outluck. Gio didn't say anything, just looking over the meicrackmon with a somber expression. Syre's cold yet realistic take on the whole situation didn't really help improve anyone's mood, but could they blame her? She had plenty of reason to take it all harder than everyone else. The twins gave a collective sigh and followed her example, de-evolving back to their rookie forms as they approached their niece and gently held her paws.
"You can say that again..." The imp said somewhat bitterly, giving Syre soft pat in the back. Really, this whole mission had only made the group feel even worse about...everything really, but they could at least go home feeling somewhat relieved that they had, even on a small way made things partially better.
Though there was still the question of what would be done about the one responsible for all of this... [Exit]
