Mission description link Deep within the city hall of Terminus..."I still don't understand why we couldn't hire more than one group for this. Instead you expect me to trust some nobodies I've never heard of!"The leomon paced back and forth, arms crossed and awkwardly out of place amidst all the robotic type digimon running about like chickens with their heads cut off. Standing near him, looking over a few holographic projections of the place was a small almost childlike mastemon with a labcoat. She looked fairly bored and swiped her hand across one of the teleportation schemes. " These 'nobodies' are some pretty powerful and experienced people. One's a young knight and the other is part of some research committee out of the Great library. Founding one I think, both of them have done a lot for so little time to actually pass." "Yes yes, and the brightest flame burns out the fastest. I'm looking for people I can trust to do the job right! My daughter's life is at stake for crying out loud..."The mastemon rolled her eyes and tapped at the holopad she was holding. She'd bite her lip as she recognized one of them from the forest incident a while ago. She could trust that one to do what she needed to in a pinch and she had heard about the other duo. Well Duo now Trio. Word gets around quick if you do enough... " Look, they'll get here soon enough and we can send them through the teleportation apperatus. Then you can bloody relax and go get yourself a beer or something." "I don't drink."" Never a better time to start." There was a soft snort and the mastemon would shoo away some small robotic type digimon that were peering over her shoulder at the mastemon's holopad. She had come from working on that crystal mon that was captured a while ago and still had to lead the research on it even if she wasn't on site. The mastemon turned and eyeballed a few of the Andromon's that were just finishing aligning the amplifier portion of the teleportation grid. " Lets just hope they don't mind having their data re-arranged for this..." Honestly they didn't have to worry about it too much, here in the center of the city under the watchful gaze of the Digital directors board. They were in a prime hotspot of things and if the mission goers didn't want their data to basically get broken down to allow for transport they could easily find someone who would for probably much cheaper...

A hazily purple painted van drove quietly down the streets of Terminus, most of it's passengers keeping quiet as the vehicle slowly approached it's destination. The white haired man on the driver's seat looked out of the window for a moment, as if to make sure of their current location.
"We're close." Carlos said, looking to the jacket wearing impmon that was on the copilot's seat. Dio didn't say anything, just giving the man a half hearted thumbs up in response.
"How you two holding up back there?" The human then asked, glancing for a moment at the backseat of the van, where Gio and Syre were. And he wasn't asking out of fear any of them were car sick. Recent events regarding the Black Gatomon's mother had shooked all of them (and plenty of other people) quite a bit, so it would have been completely understandable if the man's "niece" wasn't feeling quite alright. In fact, that was partly why he was even with her at the moment, wanting to comfort her as much as possible.
Was it a good idea to bring her along to such a mission, however? Perhaps not, but if it meant keeping her mind off the recent events it was worth it. Besides they all knew well she was no longer just a kid, she could very easily take care of herself should the need arise.
Speaking of kids... "I'm good!" Gio replied with a nod, before turning to the cat, giving her a soft pat in the head. "How's Syre-niece?"
Even if they had known eachother for a considerable short amount of time, it probably wouldn't have taken long for Syre to figure out how...immature his newest uncle probably was, not that his other uncles were exactly the poster boys for maturity. But that certainly didn't change how much they cared for her.
The van would soon come to a stop as the man parked close to a tall building that was the City Hall. It didn't take long for the group to make their way inside, and into a rather busy looking room filled with complicated looking machinery and equally busy looking digimon working on it. On the other end of the room, a labcoat wearing Mastemon and an anxious looking Leomon stood, clearly waiting as if for someone to show up.
"Hey, we're here for the mission." Carlos said, somewhat casually approaching the duo with his partners in tow. "Hope we didn't keep you waiting for long."

'We're close'.
At that simple comment, Syre gave a thumbs up of her own, before sliding back into a simple sigh. She closed her eyes, gently rubbing her fingers against her temples, trying to just keep her focus on the mission ahead. Despite everything that had happened, she was still a Knight of the Rose - and she had to get out of the house at some point. And a plea to save the children? Syre simply couldn't ignore that!
"Hm?" Asked how she was holding up, Syre broke out of her trance, blinking as she took a moment to register the question. Her ears splayed flat as a claw rested atop her head, the cat giving a small chuckle as she hoisted that arm away. "I'm fine, Gio. Thanks, though." Keeping that smile, she gave a deep breath as the van rolled to a halt. Dr. Mikemon had seen the mission that Syre had signed up for, and just gave her one word of warning:
"This director is a hard-ass. Keep it business up-front and he'll trust you right away."
So, as Carlos gave his exit, moving up to that anxious Leomon, Syre didn't follow as a BlackGatomon. Rather, as soon as she stepped out of the van, a brief flash of light surrounded her, the Sistermon-Noir stepping right up to greet the pair.
She gave a half bow: "Syre, Knight of the Black Rose, reporting for the task." Standing back up, she'd give a nod towards the Leomon - then to the Mastemon. "Ah, nice to see you again, Chalice. Has the situation escalated since the mission posting?"
Professional and concise - the ceramic gunsmon wasn't leaving an inch open for 'argument' here.

The guards looked somewhat skeptical at seeing that van pull up, though they didn't say anything they would simply give curt nods to the members as they made their way in. They knew who they were and who had signed up so there was no problem getting in. A quick stint down the hall would show the sheer readiness of this 'expidition'. Row after row of andromon's stood at the ready with smaller rookies flitting around doing last minute adjustments. A pair of Hi-andromon's were standing outside of the doors to the lab, one of which Syre would recognize from her last excersion with chalice. He'd give a little two finger salute, as though teasing before opening the door for everyone.
Within the lab the leomon sized up everyone there, even so much as taking out a scanner to see what was what. Just so he didn't get things mixed up, as well as protecting himself from any real threats. Tching to himself the leomon shoved the scanner back into his pants pocket.
"About time that you all showed up-"
"What he means is thank you for getting here so quickly. Seriously Malganoth they're going to get your daughter back the least you can do is stop being such a bloody ass."
The leomon growled lightly and glared at Chalice who stuck out her tongue at the leomon. Finding that Syre was bowing to them the leomon and Mastemon both looked a bit out of sorts. Though Malganoth returned it with a small flourish. He after all had to deal with quite a lot of different cultures so he knew the proper responses.
"District Director Malganoth. And this-"
"Oh I can have my introduction skipped it seems~ This one already knows me and I already know her. Mmm. Escalated? No not quite, but we did get some information that's pertinent to the mission. It is good to see you again, who's your friends?"
The little mastemon floated off of the ground and snatched a holopad from one of the passing by andromon's. The andromon didn't even pause in it's stride before pulling out another one and just went about his business...
"You see, I'm going to be coming with you. There's a lot of security in their system and a lot of security doors that I have to open, as well as seeing if he's left any logs of his experiments."
There was a brief moment of hesitation before the Mastemon turned to the leomon who's shoulders sagged before he walked away and out of the room. She'd frown lightly and shake her head slowly.
"We came across file names, and well... Rapid, Tiger, Hi, Machine, Magna, and Rust are their sub labels with experiment numbers on each of them. Mind you these are the successful ones."
Another bit of hesitation and she'd bring up the files, they were heavily encoded with some sort of security algorithm that changed the words without the proper file key. Chalice would bite her lower lip and tap at the screen; blowing up one single file.
"Experiment 926 is his Daughter. It's the latest one out of them all and it's a doozy."
Another long pause and she'd bring up a single sort of blurry image of something in a tank. The mastemon tapping at the projected image with a bit of a frown on her face.
"Labeled Avenge. None of the others have images associated with them. This is Definitely Malganoth's daughter; if I'm right auto-processing should finish in six hours; we want to stop it before it reaches the halfway mark. So we have three hours at best. If that's the extent of your questions lets step on the pad and get going?"

The trio would visibly pause for a moment as their niece quickly changed into a far taller, more "professional" looking form that was Sistermon, Gio even letting out an audible "cool..." at the sight. Carlos could only chuckle and shake his head at this, talk about kids growing up too fast, not even two digital years of age and Syre was already acting far more mature and composed than any of them.
For a moment, Carlos toyed with the idea of having the twins digivolve as well in order to give a good first impression like Syre, but upon noticing the relatively small size of the doors inside the hall he decided against it. Most of Dio's forms would probably be able to squeeze through them with some time, but Gio? Yeah no, he would be probably be causing more than enough colateral damage just by walking inside as anything bigger than a guilmon.
He seemed on edge, and really considering this was her daughter that was missing it was hard to blame him. Still, Carlos could only quietly sigh as his first words for them were somewhat abrasive, even if the small Mastemon was quick to attempt to defuse any sort of tension. Off to a great start.
At least Syre seemed to know her already.
"Name's Carlos. These are Gio and Dio." Carlos greeted with a bow like Syre, which Gio also copied shortly after.
"Yes, we are related." Dio added dryly, giving an almost imperceptible nod of his own. Now that pleasantries were done with, they mostly kept quiet as Chalice gave them the rundown of the current situation, though the impmon was quick to raise an eyebrow. Was she going to come along? If so then there was an obvious question that had to be answered.
"Well, I know we are mostly here as hired muscle but if things go South do we have to worry about your safety too?" He asked, mildly surprised they weren't going in alone...though not exactly thrilled about it either. Having to look after a human's safety and his niece was enough for him. Speaking of said human, Carlos was quick to chime in, if only to not have Dio's attitude get on the Mastemon's bad side already.
"Not that we think you can't hold your own in a fight but better safe than sorry, right?"
That said? Chalice's info was far from encouraging. The man could feel a cold shiver run down his back as she kept listing off the names off all the "successful" experiments. Not so much for the names themselves but rather the number of them, they painted a rather bleak picture of whatever they were going to find inside that lab.
The real kicker came when she brought up the picture of something inside a tank, the man biting his lip and even both twins looking on in grim understanding of what they were looking at. If Chalice was right, then they didn't have any time left to waste standing around.
"We can ask stuff in the way, let's just get this thing wrapped up while we can." The imp said, and it was clear the other two agreed with the sentiment...though it was Gio of all people that would ask something next.
"...Is the "Hanged-Mon" still in there?"

Thankfully, the four of them didn't really have to deal with that hardass of a director for long. For better or worse, the Mastemon took hold of the conversation, the Sistermon giving a nod as the angel caught them up to speed on the task.
The situation hadn't gotten worse - but they were on a strict time constraint. These Digimon children weren't just stolen for profit, they were stolen for experimentation, and based on what Chalice was talking about, it sounded a lot like the Crystal research (inasmuch as it involved turning Digimon into a different sort of Digimon). At that, the Sistermon gave a sigh: "Experiment 926? We'll be relying on you to settle us a map once we get in there, Chalice. And don't worry too much about her, Dio: I haven't seen Chalice fight, but this scientist hasn't shied away from getting into the thick of things by herself before."
Aside from that, the ultimate had few questions, simply taking the moment to take stock of the code names and make sure her teammates were more-or-less settled in. Though the question about the 'Hanged Mon' was definitely in Syre's interest as well.
Running headlong into him might complicate things.

It's wonderful to meet the three of you. I presume a human and twin pairing? Are you two capable of DNA digivolution?"
The mastemon floated over to the two; sizing them up and down before glancing at Carlos. Were they capable of Biomerging? She had heard of this rare practice and if given the chance she wanted to see it. One of her wings shifted slightly to allow her to turn slowly so that she could take in everyone a bit more properly now that she wasn't doing a million things.
"If things go south? Dear. If I wanted to I could kill every single person in this building without breaking a sweat. Worry about yourself okay sweetheart?"
There was brutal honesty in her voice and the mastemon gave syre a smile as she spoke up telling them that chalice could likely handle herself in such an event. The information she passed to the others was quite straightforward and then of course they were quick to the point. Wanting to get right into it. Though the question that Gio asked... Chalice paused.
"Orion is not there no. Twelve hours ago we detected a huge energy surge that suggests either two things. Extremely long range teleportation or... He went to the human world. We'll find out when we get there I suppose. Tearing rifts between the two worlds is illegal and if he did it he'll have more than just one city coming down on him."
The scientist sighed softly and seemed somewhat sad with the fact they were going after this particular dukemon. The mastemon floated over to the teleportation pad, directing some of the andromon's to clear off before shooing away the last once he was done adjusting the range finder.
"I'm bringing in some equipment. One is a map scanner; maker whatever you want to call it. I'm also capable of healing you all so if things get rough and you have to go 'full in' I can get you each... Twice? Maybe three times?"
She'd then hold up a small vial.
"You remember this nifty thing Syre? I've refined them, they should fully heal any one mon that's taken critical damage. I want to save it for Vivian since it'll stabilize her but... It's more important we don't lose anyone else to Orion's creations as they are likely to go to the extreme...
Chalice would punch in some coordinates and with everything addressed the teleport pad would spool up. There was a momentary blip that washed over everyone present and once it was stabilized she'd direct them to go in one at a time so that the system wasn't overloaded.
Once through the teleportation pad the group would find themselves in a dimly lit office. Much like you'd expect from the human world, chairs of reasonable size, uniformed in every way. Dull screens that flicked on and off from time to time were the only source of proper light. Chalice herself was the last one to teleport in and she'd stretch a bit, mumbling to herself as she pulled out that said map maker.
"97.3333% accuracy. Lost a bit in terms of clipping... Don't be surprised if something feels off for a bit, your data had to be broken down and funneled through a tube basically. It'll catch up in about five or so minutes."
Chalice looked about and without much in the way of warning turned on her visor which illuminated a good swath of it. She'd bite her lip as some of these computers looked like they were human in design but that couldn't be right...
"Look for a vent, it'll be a hidden key door. Should take us to the next section. I'm extremely familiar with Orion's work you see as well as his... 'labs'."
The small mastemon would float around, checking the computers. She didn't care personally how they went about things or what they had to say. She'd answer the questions they had and well... It wouldn't take them too long to find six or so vents! One of which was glitching in and out of existence, showing a door of easily Seraphimon height! It even clipped through the wall and after a little bit would simply phase into proper being.
Past that door? Well.
A single hallway, with six separate doors on either side. At the end of the hall a single door stood out among the rest. A circle with three dots in the center. Each connected to one another but not the circle itself. Chalice would let out a huff and shake her head.
"Just like him. Tell you the way to the end but tease you with other possibilities. Do you want to explore the side rooms before moving to the main chamber?"
The mastemon would hold up the map, this lab facility was enormous. So much so she was only able to see the hallway, the six rooms on either side of the hallway, the entry point and the absolutely massive room on the other side of the marked door.

"Twin partners, yes. We haven't...quite figured out the ins and outs of DNA digivolution I'm afraid." Dio would simply reply as Chalice hovered close to them, letting out a sigh of annoyance not so much at the Mastemon's question but rather at his own answer. Gio didn't seemed nearly as pessimistic about it, as he was quick to chirp in with a simple yet short response to his brother.
"Yet!"
And while Chalice's claim of her power was...slightly out there, at the very least it seemed they wouldn't have to worry about looking after her in the slightest. As for other somewhat encouraging news it seemed as if the so called Orion wasn't in the planned mission zone, which meant at the very least one less obstacle in their path, though Carlos found somewhat darkly humorous how Chalice seemed to find the fact he was illegally tearing rifts between worlds to be that noteworthy. After numerous kidnappings and experimenting on unwilling subjects illegally teleporting to the human world seemed like peanuts compared.
Once it was all said and done, the trio stepped into the teleportation pad, from where it wouldn't take long for them all to be transported elswhere.
"...that explains the migraine I guess." The man quipped at Chalice, massaging the sides of his head as he tried to fight back the sudden headache ringing through him, something far stronger than whatever he felt using any regular digiport. Maybe flesh and blood humans weren't quite ready for full on teleportation yet.
What really stood out to the trio however was how...mundane the place looked, ominous lightning aside: didn't seem anything more outlandish than a normal looking office block, but unless they had been teleported to the wrong place they knew better than to think this place was something as simple as that.
"May I ask why are you so familiar with his "work"?" Carlos asked as he began looking for one of the "vents", curiosity in his tone. After a short time bumbling about in the dimly lit office they would finally find some of the aforementioned vents, and behind one of them a hallway with six doors to the sides, and at the end a circular, far more eye catching door. It didn't take a genius to figure whatever was behind said door was important.
Already they had a choice to make: explore one of the many side rooms, or head straight for their objective. Surprisingly enough, both seemed equally tantalizing yet risky ideas.
"I mean I guess maybe we might as well take a glance in there, maybe find about what he's been doing here exactly?" The man pondered, glancing at the group. Hell, maybe something in there could have valuable info for whatever they might find ahead. If only they could risk to split the party, but he had seen more than his fair share of horror movies to know how stupid of an idea that was.
"But we don't really have the time to look around right now." Dio said, shaking his head, clearly not as keen in exploring as his tamer, at least if it meant losing their valuable time.
"Maybe we could look into one or two and if we don't find anything we just head straight for the big door?"

No sign of the culprit, huh?
Syre considered that information - swiftly giving a sigh after a few seconds of thought. "We shouldn't take that as 'he won't be there'. With current methods of portals and communication, he doesn't even need to be especially good at teleportation himself to reinforce his own defenses. We should treat this more as a case of 'if we get caught, things will get worse.'"
A reasonable assessment, all things considered. Mastemon would briefly go over the equipment they would have on hand, and even mentioned that she managed to modify the anti-crystal-doses to something more useful. Syre gave a nod, though it seemed the Mastemon would be keeping the equipment to herself this time around.
For the best, really. The pad would kick up... ... And minus a bit of fuzziness in her head, Syre would appear in-tact on the other side. The ceramic golem tilted her head at Carlos' comment, unable to really feel anything like that in her current form.
"Just hope we didn't forget anything important..." Syre kept her voice low, considering her immediate surroundings. A run-down office building? Asked to look for vents, Syre looked high and around the corners of the room, easily finding a few of them. Everything eventually funneled to a central room, leading to seven possible exits. Each closed, and Chalice's map just showed a symmetrical spider-like array in the immediate area.
"Ignore the room barriers for a moment. Which direction would you say the relevant data signals are?"

"Well when you do, contact me. I've wanted to study a dna digivolution for quite some time!"
There was a brief smile that spread across her face before she turned her head to Syre. The fact that she seemed to think that he could come back or reinforce his own defenses somehow was... well. She had the right of it. The mastemon bit her lip and gave a nod to syre.
"Duly noted, I'm still playing catch up with a lot of technology these days but. I suppose I'll have to look further into things once this is done. Tch. Never ends."
"If it doesn't go away tell me. Something may of gone where it shouldn't and... that's extremely bad for humans I think."
Well if anything the data should reformat itself. The Mastemon took a moment to look up from her scanner, her face softening a bit as she spoke. Barely above a murmer so that her voice didn't carry through the room too much or through those vents.
"A child is always familiar with the works of their father. You see I'm a clone of his wife, Chalice. Who died quite some time ago, in fact there's about... two maybe three dozen of us left from the intial three or four hundred. The first clone is still with the icy fate and the closest to how his wife used to be."
Chalice was still going through the map motions when she paused, her little wings flapping in excitement as she was picking up multiple signals in the next room. None of them were Vivians however and she quickly pursed her lips.
"We all developed differently because of the varying spots we were put in. Each one of us brilliant and powerful but lacking what it meant to be a proper digimon. I'm the most familiar with his work because for the longest time I worked with him before I was eventually assigned to the crystal project. Which is now thankfully no longer operating."
Chalice shifted a bit and glanced at the human as he said that they should maybe take a look into the rooms. Dio following suit saying that they didn't have the time and chalice honestly was feeling the same way. But then gio seemed to think that they could just take a look in a room or two. Chalice was going to open her mouth and then... Well syre told her to ignore the room barriers. She'd frown a bit and then turn her mapping machine to finding signals.
"Lets see... there's four champion level signals directly ahead, A pair ultimate levels past those... then straight down two hundred meters is another pair of ultimates... then back track a bit and there's. Oh. Oh my. Two mega level signals. None of them match vivia...ns..."
Chalice's face paled and the blaring red dot that was on the map projection made it quite clear she wasn't expecting this. She'd reach up and pull that little dot away from the rest, looking at it as it slowly changed to purple from red.
"A super mega class tier signal with grafted signals on it? That has to be her. We don't have the time to check every room, pick one if you want but the quicker we get through this... Tch. Just what did he do?"

Well, needless to say Chalice's reply was far more than whatever Carlos was expecting. Other than her working with Orion at some point, everything else she shared he could have never guessed, and quite frankly he could have almost done without knowing. Cloning, that was something Carlos wasn't quite prepared to learn about just yet, and it took just about all his will power to avoid asking more questions about that and focus on their mission.
"What made you leave him?" Didn't stop Gio from asking as he tilted his head, however. Leave it to him to ask the possibly more personal questions without any semblance of doubt or tact for that matter.
As Chalice kept listing off more and more signals of slowly increasing power however the white haired man bit his lip harder and harder, almost enough to draw a bit of blood. He knew they were expecting heavy resistance but the sheer number of it was staggering, specially for just four digimon to take on. Suddenly having Chalice here made a lot more sense: if so much as one of those signals noticed them there was literally no way they could get to their target unscathed. Furthermore could they really afford to lose time fighting them and look around one of the rooms in the way?
He knew it was most likely a pointless endeavour, but if there was any glimmer of an advantage they could get against such daunting odds, he was willing to take a peak for it, at least momentarily. "We'll make it snappy then, five minutes tops and then we get going." Carlos quickly nodded once, making his way to one of the doors as he beckoned the twins to follow him. "Chalice, could you see if there's any way around any of those signals in the meantime? The more fights we can avoid the more time we'll have to get there."

A set of clones? Was this Chalice even the same one from the forest?
It was an interesting thought, but ultimately, Syre kept her attention to the situation at hand. Chalice's reading confirmed that there were a myriad of data signals directly ahead - but that also meant something interesting. There was nothing stopping them from checking out all six of those rooms. Carlos was quick to reach his conclusion, however:
"Don't be impatient, uncle." Syre's voice mechanically rolled out, obviously still processing the situation at hand. "Chalice's current map is incomplete - still based off of a scan of the local area. We've just learned that each door here is not manned with a physical guard. With that in mind..."
Right, roles: "Chalice, get these six doors open, so long as you can do so without tripping an active alarm. Additionally, keep stock of the data signals of the area and let us know if anyone is coming inward to this direction. And, Carlos - no, wait, Dio."
She turned her attention to the Impmon, then looked back at the teleportation room. "There's one aspect left that Chalice can't track, and that's if someone suddenly appears from behind us. If you can, go back into that office room, and hide behind the teleportation device. Chalice mentioned it herself, it temporarily lowers their senses - you'll have a good shot to Digivolve and take them out with one swift hit to their back."

Chalice paused at the question that Gio posed and she'd bring a hand up to her chin to give it a small rub. The digimon had left because she simply was assigned to another project that he wasn't part of... By her father himself.
"My father assigned me to the crystal project. He wasn't a part of it. Just that simple I guess."
Chalice ran her hands through the holographic projection and frowned a bit. The four signals were in that big room; there was no doubt in her mind that they were likely guarding something in there. At the very least they'd probably find out what they were guarding or what kind of room it'd be.
Her wings would flick in irritation and she'd open her mouth to speak before carlos suggested to see if she could find a way around those signals. It was hard to tell really and the mastemon sighed. The more fights they could avoid would be better overall but they might not have that option if they were at choke points.
But then syre spoke up, mechanically and quickly. She was right in terms of that but chalice did after all have a way of making the signal and map proper that she had of the area sort of merge into one. She'd go to do that and frown lightly as yes those four signals were in the massive bleeding room beyond the marked door.
"All right. Looks like those four signals are in the other room at the end of the hall. But with the size and the fact they aren't moving..."
Chalice seemed rather hesitant but after a few long moments her black wings would collapse into tendrils before splitting up into six different 'arms'. Each 'arm' would take a door and the mastemon would sit in place, each tendril worming it's way into the door's security pad. After about a minute all the doors made the same universal clicking sound before being pushed open by their respective tendrils.
"All right the doors are open... I'll start working on the central door, lemme know if you find anything."
Chalice would float forward, her wing returning to it's natural state as she inspected the security on the door.
It seemed that door one through three, on the left side were all storage of various food stuffs. Ranging from MRE's to actual surprisingly good food types. Each labeled for a different person, it seemed that certain people required certain food stuffs. But none of it claimed the Dukemon's name. The one with the best food stuff was labeled 'Rapid'.
On the right side of the hallway, the first door was just a filing cabinet room with papers of various logs for the experiments in case of the failure of the system. It went into agonizing detail of every little thing the dukemon had done to his experiments.
The middle door actually had a lot of scientific equipment, so much so that it was practically crammed in there. They were all top of the line and exported out from around the world. There was even a few bits of human like technology that was adapted into some form of digital making a strange hybrid of sorts.
The last door proved something that the rest of the doors did not, that they didn't need to be a certain size to fit in this hallway. It was a bleeding massive room, with many tube shaped tanks with floating... Meicoomons. They all were all worked into some kind of wiring and had breathing apparatus, medical machines keeping track of their physical body as well as mental status. They were all asleep and at the end of the room the terminal's opening screen would read 'Templates'.
Chalice made a soft tsking sound and shook her head; leaning back to sort of bite her lip. This wasn't good it was closed security on the other side that she couldn't hack into, they could open the door but...
"This is bad, this security is a closed system. The door is unlocked but the moment we open it alarms will trigger in the next room. I can't severe a connection that doesn't physically exist either. I don't know how he's done it but the wiring isn't... there and is there at the same time. It's very wierd."
And dio if he followed the actions that syre laid out for him? Well he'd find that it was quite boring and no one was coming through. The teleporter seemed surprisingly intact but also wasn't 'on'. Did... Someone turn it off when they weren't looking?

It didn't take long for Chalice to pry those doors open, and once she did, Syre would give a nod to Carlos and Gio before taking stock of the rooms on the right.
The first one looked like physical file storage - a quick glance through a few of the folders revealed absolutely disgusting experiments, but there wasn't much here in terms of electronics or computer access. The Sistermon would briefly take note of any ventilation exits that might go further into the facility, before simply backing out and checking the next one.
The second - oh, now this looked crowded. Boxes and boxes of scientific equipment, imported in and haphazardly put into this room, much like a packed storage closet. "So he just got whatever he could get his hands on, then?" Syre basically just guessed, not knowing much about the machinery in front of her. Once more, she checked for other unconventional exits in the room, before proceeding to the last -
"... What the fuck."
What the fuck, what the fuck. It took all of Syre's composure to keep her head, the ceramic ultimate shuddering in place at what she saw. Meicoomon - at least 40 in total, suspended in glass tubes and affixed to breathing apparati. They seemed to be artificially asleep, held as some sort of scientific standard.
'Templates'. But to Syre, each and every one reminded her of Holly, and this put her close to the edge. But she kept her composure - and simply spoke to Chalice. "We'll worry about the door in a minute. But is there a way to disconnect these Digimon from their arrangements without tripping the alarm? And... is it possible to open up a portal to this room?"

Dio simply gave Syre a somewhat surprised look at first, if only because how surprised (and slightly amused) that he was for his niece ordering him around. That said, she had a good point, so he quietly nodded once as he retreated to the back, standing watch close to the teleporting pad. Meanwhile the man and guilmon made a beeline for the recently unlocked doors, taking a look as to what their contents might be.
The very first room they wandered into was filled with all sorts of containers, boxes and even bags, and a very distinct smell inside it made the BlackGuilmon perk up immediately. “Food?!” The lizard barked once inside, almost starry eyes as he grabbed on to one of the many MRE bags, sniffing it loudly and even getting it close to his mouth to try and give it a cautious lick, though he was thankfully stopped in his tracks by Carlos.
“Gio don’t!” Carlos said, taking the box out of the Guilmon’s hands and putting back in its place. “Did you even read the label? Who knows what could be in these?” With that he practically dragged the lizard out of the room, and took a quick glance into the next room, and the one after that, before letting out an audible “tsk”.
“Food storages, all of them. There’s stuff labeled with the same names as the “successful” experiments too, guess they’re all picky eaters...or there's something more than just special dressing to them.” He quipped as he glanced to Chalice. Well, unless Orion happened to keep a secret self destruct button buried under all that food it was probably safe to assume nothing of value could be retrieved from there, which left them with the other three rooms on the other side. Nothing worth their time so far, but at least they hadn’t stalled for too long yet.
The machinery filled room didn’t turn up with anything really worth mentioning either, just the kind of equipment Carlos expected to find in such a place, really. It was the last two rooms that really brought the duo’s attention. Well, partly: Carlos seemed particularly invested in reading the many archives kept in the second to last room, but after skimming through one and seeing nothing but a lot of scientific terminology and rather coldly written experimenting logs he figured those were better saved for later, perhaps as more damning evidence or just general insight as to what exactly happened in there. Gio however wasn’t particularly interested in reading, so he sorta slowly wandered up to the last door that was still unchecked.
“…guys?” The guilmon called out, standing in front of the last door as if frozen, eyes unblinking staring deep into the closed room. Concerned by his partner’s odd tone, Carlos wasted no time in getting next to Gio, only to see into the room and just…stand there. Unable to properly process what he was looking at: a large number of vats filled with an odd liquid, Meicoomons floating unconscious inside of each of them. "Are they...sleeping?"
Gio reached one claw for the door, but was quickly stopped by Carlos. If Chalice was right (and why wouldn’t she be) opening that door would just paint a giant target on the groups’ back. As tempting as it was, the possible knowledge they could get from inside that room was simply too much trouble to be worth it.
“We’ve seen enough, let’s just get the main door open and get a move out then, we’ll figure out how to avoid unnecessary fights on the way there.” Though he'd glance back at the small mastemon, visible worry in his glare. "Chalice...please tell me we're not looking for missing Meicoomons."
As for Dio? Well, he would be spending the following minutes guarding the pad with a bored look, waiting for a threat that never came. After a good while he’d notice something odd with the teleporter however. He got close and after inspecting it some more, even gave it a good kick, but the equipment kept completely quiet and more importantly, off. Had it been off this entire time?
“Hey Chalice...can this pad be deactivated remotely? Because someone or something turned it off.”
