"Cults promise people things they can't have, safety, a sense of purpose or somefin like that. Honestly when a cult gets big enough they often enough move out of the dark area to somewhere else, b'come a proper group after a bit to just get put down by someone stronger. Well cept for that group of sovereign worshipers. They're around still I fink."
The wolf paused, putting a paw up to it's head in thought. It hadn't actually heard about that group in a long time. Were they still around? He didn't know. An ear flick followed at that oh and the wolf raised a small brow.
"Not really much of a bargainin' chip, doesn't stop the reapers from doin anythin I've heard. Just makes it less likely for them to show up I fink. Wouldn't know, wouldn't care. Ain't my cup of tea."
The wolf's head turned to the spirit user, giving a nod to the human's questionish statement. They were indeed strong enough to outlast their competition. Probably due to the sheer numbers they had in comparison to the other smaller ones.
"Probably, month or so from now they might try to move to the mainland like the rest of the idiots. Iffin you ask me it'd be better if they stayed here and just stayed bleedin quiet. Got enuff goin on we don't need more problems. Food's hard as it bloody is to come by."
The wolf huffed a bit and scratched at it's ears before raising either brows. Looking somewhat irritated at being asked if the pendants did anything.
"If they did do anythin I wouldn't know. I didn't join the last six dozen or so cults that popped up and I won't join the next six dozen."
He'd point at the trio with a paw, bobbing it up and down as the wolf furrowed it's brow slowly.
"Askin a lot of questions bout em. You 'ere to do somefin about them or just trying to fish for information like those robots last week?"
The idea of the pendants making someone feel popular made the sangloupmon snort softly. It'd shake it's head and take a proper seat, obviously not going anywhere anytime soon.
"Look. They got big, they're gettin bigger and bigger all the time. They don't go to the towns en-masse cause it makes people all nervous. But if the pendants make em popular or do some other shit they haven't shared it with anyone outside of the cult. Only reason I know they even have em is because they tend to get real preachy about their stupid group when they wear em."

"I really wouldn't think it's a matter of being strong, more like being...smart about how they operate?" Aya mused in regards to Asher's comment. Coolmon, meanwhile, nodded at the vampiric wolf's words regarding how cults even get that big, y'know? Yet...Those pendants were wards against the D-Reaper?
Interesting, sure, but that might present a problem later. "Well, kinda? We're told this has been a problem for some time, so we need to...y'know. Actually go and deal with it." Coolmon clarified towards the Sangloupmon. "That being said, it...sounds like it should be obvious to discern who's among them if they're really how you say they are with those pendants."

Listening to his teammate, the redhead gave a thoughtful hum. "Depends on the cult, probably," he answered, with a shrug. In some places, strength mattered more than intellect. It wouldn't surprise him if a cult in the dark area had more meatheads than anything else. Granted, he would imagine heads of the organization would be a bit smarter. But, who really knew? Asher wasn't really one for cults, outside of movies.
But, the thought of the cult moving to the mainland seemed less than ideal. Clicking his tongue to the roof of his mouth, the redhead looked to his partners in this mission. He seemed to debate giving input on his own opinion of this, but decided against it. After all, it was hard to say if any of the Digimon nearby were eavesdropping, wasn't it? Though, Coolmon admitting to their plans to 'deal with' the cult would probably be enough to cause them trouble, if that were the case.
There was a scrunch of the nose as he processed what Sangloupmon had said, though. And, what may have been missed by the inquisitive bunny. "What robots?" It was likely that they were just the same Digimon that were with Joseph, but... it was best to ask, just in case.
Ayaka was probably right that the group wasn't just a bunch of strong idiots, if they knew not to enter villages in groups due to fear. Would it actually be very easy to find any of the cultists, if they weren't just meatheads? For the time being, it seemed that the spirit user had run out of questions to direct to the Sangloupmon. After all, it felt more like they were interrogating he area's resident, than anything else. How long would the wolf put up with their questions, anyway?

"Tchcheche! Knew it. Else those robots wouldn't of shown up again. They're so bleedin loud that everyone knows when they show up!"
The wolf chuckled royally and shook his head, seeming amused at the fact that the robots likely seemed to think they were being discreet. Not knowing that most of the forest knew they were here when they made landfall earlier. The wolf tilted his head slightly however when the coolmon spoke about the pendants.
"Yeah. They feel feckin wierd and yah can just sorta... Well iffin you've dealt with the reapers before you'd know how they feel. Iffin you haven't well... You'll learn quick enough as yer looking for em!"
The sangloupmon furrowed it's brow and turned to the spirit user. Eyeing them quietly as the other seemed to not follow what he was laying down at least. The bladed wolf nodded in the direction of the ship that they had come from.
"The feckin... Bleeding andromon's. Big loud lordy clankers that don't know better to leave shit well enough alone. Every time they show up the cultists get in a tizzy, make it harder for everyone roun' here and well. Part of the reason things are so damn quiet. Folks don' want more trouble than they need and they bring bloody trouble."
He sure was a chatty wolf and after a few moments he'd huff a bit eyeing the group before gesturing off to one side. It was a more broad gesture as the paw was a bit shaky.
"Iffin you're lookin for their smaller camps, one of em is somewhere over there. Just don't go about destroying the feckin place yeah? Some of us still bleedin live here and we don't need tha reapers showin up to make everythin' all goopy again. Lord knows it took long enough to get out of my bleedin fur."

Coolmon was making mental note after mental note of what the Sangloupmon was saying. Of course they'd leave a particular sort of signal when they're wearing what was basically Reaper data. "...I'm pretty sure there's better mechanical digimon to scout around with than just Andromon...Regardless, I apologize on their behalf. We'll try not to disrupt anything. Especially not to the point where the Reaper would make itself known." Coolmon nodded her head.
Aya turned around towards the side the wolf was gesturing towards. Over there, huh...? "...I see. Thank you for the tip, let's see what we can do regarding the...issue." The knight uttered, glancing to Asher. "Got any plan on how to approach the camp?" Well, they'd need to be able to -see- it first...So Aya was talking hypotheticals, probably.

This wolf certainly knew how to talk. The teen nodded his head along with everything that was being said. It felt like this area had a lot of problems, didn't it? Hopefully, these cultists would be the worst of it for now. After the Sangloupmon gave rough directions, he would hum a, "thanks for all the help." It seemed that Coolmon had covered the part of reassuring the Digimon that they weren't going to destroy everything.
Intentionally, at least.
"I assume we're trying to be subtle?" Asher answered the question with another question. He wasn't entirely certain what style of approach was preferred by the other knights, after all! "I have a form that can camouflage in shadows, but it's useless in a fight," he began, "and I imagine Coolmon has good hearing?" Maybe it was a bit of an assumption based on being a pink bunny, but the redhead was willing to risk being unintentionally rude by profiling something with big ears. Could anyone really blame him, though? "So we can probably use stealth from that combination."
But, there were surely other options, right? The spirit user couldn't just give them something that relied on sneaking and listening for strangers. Plus, it was a somewhat boring option. So, the ex-actor would provide an alternative! Albeit, a fairly cliche one! "Or, we can pretend we want to join a cult and be really obvious that we're looking for them." What could go wrong with that suggestion?
Granted, Asher wasn't going to be the only one to suggest anything. Or, he was going to try not to be, at the very least. "Can you think of anything?"
Sure, the question was directed at a rabbit and tamer, but if a chatty wolf wanted to give any input, it wouldn't be frowned upon either! At this point, any suggestions felt pretty welcome, as long as they didn't involve leveling the Dark Area or something. It would definitely be easier to figure out what they were doing once they found the camp, but it was also hard to say if they'd be able to make plans once it was located, also! But, with all the help from Sangloupmon thus far, he couldn't imagine the wolf would have too much more to contribute to the group anyway.

"Tch. In this place most folk leave groups of champion's alone. Feh. If they went with anythin' smaller most of us would probably make a sport of the lil bastards."
The sangloupmon shrugged, flicking it's ears forward as the coolmon apologized for what the droids had done. He didn't seem too bothered by it; just more so irritated by the stomping. The wolf tilted his head slowly and raised a brow. Wait so they were serious about this? Did he even want to get involved?
The wolf weighed his options and found them sort of annoyingly put towards the favor of assisting these three knuckleheads. What were they even? Why were they even here truly? The wolf shifted and turned to leave; seeming hesitant after he had been thanked by Asher.
"Of all the frackin... If you're tryin to be subtle you shouldn' be glarin obvious that yah ain't from around here. They'll know somefin's up the moment you step foot into their camp perimeter. Yah folks are way too clean, don't have that look everyone's got roun here. They only take locals for a good heffin reason."
The wolf growled a little bit and turned his head to the others, glaring at them lightly.
"So if you want my advice on it? Yah best be off going headfirst or sneakin. Subtly isn't gonna do you jack diddly with this especially with how you're dressed or look."
Gods why was he even bothering with these three at this point? It's not like he owed them anything but maybe it was a little bit of heart that the wolf didn't know that he had left. The wolf grumbled to himself, mumbling quite a few explicit words under his breath.
"I betcha you could probably get in with less trouble if you waited till night. They don't use torches so it'd be easier to sneak in but considerin it's in the middle of the friggen day you'd be waitin a lon heffin time."

"...I don't think we can afford to be subtle for too long." Aya replied, after a moment of silence on her end. The Sangloupmon noting that they had a better chance of subtlety should they wait for nightfall did spark a few ideas in Coolmon's head. "We could wait for it to be evening, wait till they're all asleep, then go in and blow some stuff up!"
It wasn't really that simple, but it was a good overall plan, all things considered. "So, we could just go in right now and fight them all or just wait who knows how many hours for it to be night to sneak in and take them by surprise. I don't think pretending to be enterprising cultists would do us much good, tempting as it may be..." Aya spoke towards Asher.
...So, what -would- they do?

One could probably take offense at the Sangloupmon's inability to believe they could pull off the act! "I'm pretty sure I could, at least," the teen commented, with a shrug. Between acting skills and Nightmare Soldiers for evolutions, he was probably well-set. But, as far as Ayaka and Coolmon went? Well... He probably had to concede. Ayaka didn't really look like a local. In heavy part due to being a human. And then Coolmon was a pink bunny.
Though, it seemed that bunnies could also be residents of the Dark Area, so who really knew what the rabbit could turn into?
Of course, Coolmon's plan seemed solid enough. Blowing things up was pretty hard to argue with, really! "I like the element of surprise," he agreed. "But, we'll need to kill time doing something." Otherwise, he'd probably go crazy.
Or, they'd just sit and chat up a certain wolf until it became later. It really depended on if anyone had the tolerance for that kind of thing.
"I know we kind of need to find the camp first," but since Sangloupmon had already given them the general direction... "but that's probably not going to take all day, I'd like to think?" If it was, he'd probably be even more bored than just sitting and waiting for the sun to go down! But, patience was a virtue, and all of that, so if that was what they needed to do, so be it.

"Subtly is kinda over-rated if you ask me. But yah all make a pretty darned good point there. So waitin till nightfall is all fine n dandy but... I guess a direction really don' help you out too much."
The wolf scowled a little bit and flick his ears to one side. If they wanted to take the time to scope out, get extra knowledge this would be perfect for them. But if they wanted to go right for it well...
"Look yah are bound to hit an outpost sooner or later if you keep walkin where I pointed earlier. I don' know what else to tell yah. Why not find the bloody thing and come back here later; not like I'm goin any place."
The wolf shrugged a bit, motioning for the trio to leave. He wasn't going to attack them and he was the strongest champion mon present at the moment. The ghosts and the lounging ogre posed no real challenge to him so it wouldn't pose a challenge to the others present even at their 'cap'.
"But sittin around ain't gonna do you any good if you still have tah find the bloody thing."
The wolf scowled a little deeper, he didn't like having to help people out too much or get too pushy with them. Stronger mons or humans were always a pain to deal with and he very much so wanted to be left alone. Cults were bad enough... why did they have to draw in so much attention?

"It's not -that- overrated. I mean, it works, doesn't it?" Coolmon said, plainly and simply as she could make it. "You probably could. I can't, unless I get a change of clothes and get Coolmon to turn into Crescemon. Except...uh. She gets crabby in that form." It was pretty concerning, truth be told.
They could both at least grasp at what the vampiric wolf was saying. Scout the place out first, then return. "...Okay. Let's do that, then." They probably could've gotten a start earlier, but...It -was- probably best to ensure they didn't go in half-baked or anything. "I could send Coolmon over--Asher, what do you think? Send the rabbit or send you?"
...Did he have any forms that could scout the camp out?

"Crabby?" It sounded concerning. But, Asher wasn't going to think on it too much. Digimon were weird, and he didn't know what a Crescemon looked like, but if it was another pink rabbit, he couldn't blame Coolmon for... losing her cool!
Either way, the plan seemed to be formed enough to begin acting upon it! So, it was time to start being productive! With Ayaka giving the options between Coolmon or himself, the teen mulled it over. His rookie form was only particularly stealthy in shade. And, Coolmon was short.
There was one pretty important question, though. "Will we be close enough that Coolmon can digivolve if she's caught?" Or, would that be too dangerous for Ayaka? How close did a tamer need to be to their partner? Asher didn't really know the details, beyond something about proximity and a specific person needing to be involved.
"If it's safe enough, and you're alright with going, you're a bit smaller than anything I can turn into," Asher admitted, giving the option for the bunny to either step forward and go on the hunt, or back out. There really wasn't any pressure, either way! If Coolmon was uncomfortable with the idea, it was pretty obvious that Asher would do it.

"Crabby. It's a reflection of a previous life, as far as I'm told. Which...might explain a bit?" Coolmon -was- a bit older than Aya had thought she was. Either way, the knight nodded towards Asher. "Yeah, I'll try to stick as close as I can so she can digivolve if need be."
As for Coolmon's own answer? Well, she wasn't a dirty coward afraid of sneaking around because of being afraid of alerting some cultists because of rabbit stuff. Of course the Cutemon was going to step forward. "Yeah, I think I can do it. I'm not the best at sneaking, but I do have big ears, soooo...I can try eavesdropping too."
Even if that was by far the most uncool thing she could ever think of? Cultists were far worse, so screw 'em. Either way, she was ready to go sneaking!

"Just don't go all angsty teenager on us, please," the redhead needed to joke. After all, that wouldn't be very cool, would it? Nobody could be acting like that! Alternatively, Coolmon turned into a literal crab digimon. Which, probably wasn't very cool either. But, Asher wasn't going to say anything about that potential.
Instead, he'd give a nod at Coolmon's decision. Big ears certainly had their perks when it came to listening in on conversations! Hopefully, nobody ever tried talking about Coolmon behind her back!
But, it seemed a general plan was made! So, whereever they would go now, he would make sure to stay back a ways, with the tamer, and hope that none of them drew unnecessary attention! Or, more than they already had, at least. First, though, they really needed to find the camp, instead of just letting Coolmon get too far ahead of them, blindly!
So, as long as no complaints were had, he'd begin in the direction that Sangloupmon had suggested. Of course, assuming that Coolmon would eventually take the lead, since she was currently in charge of the stealth part of this little mission.

The sangloupmon watched the trio for a few moments longer before shaking his head. The wolf digimon was done with all of this. Would they end up like the others that sought out this particular group of cultists? Or would they prevail in a sense? He didn’t know nor did he care.
The group itself? Well they’d find their steps easy going, but with those eyes watching them again. This time it was that bakemon; curiously following them at a distance though once they entered the cultists turf he was nowhere to be seen or felt. No one here wanted to mess with this group even in passing.
It’d take a good thirty minutes of travel before the trio found their way to the edge of the cultists camp.
But something was wrong, the small camp was dead silent. There was no bustle, no people manning the few watch towers. In fact one of those very towers was listing with a line of red pustules growing on one of it’s supports. It was eerie, like a graveyard at midnight. Further in? The group would find the only few cultists in one of the many tents, cowering in the edge of the of it behind some crates.
”G-go away! Th-they’ll come back if y-you’re here!”
Who would come back? What had happened here? The questions would be easily found, why were these cultists in such a blind panic? One of them was even wearing one of the very amulets they sought but rather than clutching it for support the blackgabumon was trying to pull it away from itself rather unsuccessfully...
